A report from Eurogamer and VGC stated that Nintendo showed their next console to a select few developers at Gamescom behind closed doors. Do you think the report is plausible? And is it generally common for console manufacturers to talk about their next console to developers privately towards the end of a console generation?
Is it plausible?
Tumblr media
Of course it's plausible. The Nintendo Switch started development around 2012-2013, was unveiled in 2016, and was released in 2017. It's been six years since the Switch launched. If Nintendo started developing a new console shortly after the Switch's launch (2018), we're about due for a new console unveiling.
Is it common for console manufacturers to talk about the next console to developers privately?
Tumblr media
Absolutely. How do you think the new console's third party launch games get made? We on the dev side get to work with the console dev kits before the public knows about them because new consoles need to launch with games to play or nobody will buy them. We need at least a year (preferably two or three) to build a whole game on new hardware, so you can do the math - if our game launches with the new console in holiday season 2025, that means we need the console dev kits to start building the game 2022-2024. How do you think we get those dev kits if we don't talk to the console manufacturers? We get the dev kits early and are all sworn to NDA Secrecy for that time.
Tumblr media
I'll clarify to say that I can neither confirm nor deny anything that I am currently working on, nor can I confirm nor deny the existence of any next-gen Nintendo (or Sony or Microsoft or other party) console system. I am only speaking hypothetically as someone who worked on launch titles for the [PS4/XBOne generation and the PS3/X360 generation].

May Asks and Injury Updates
Got a wrist brace, but my arm is still fucked. So I’m the meantime, I’ll be answering asks about anything, including story, characters, gameplay, or meta.
Here’s a snippet of the writing, though it probably won’t be the only one depending on what people are interested in.
Tumblr media
[ID: screenshot of text reading. “You don’t know how long the aftermath lasts. In and out of consciousness, you think you hear someone trying to talk to you, but your mind is consumed with the searing agony that spreads from the bite on your neck. Is there a hand on your back? Are you moving? Is someone carrying you? You can’t find the headspace to comprehend it, but it has to be the case. You convulse in their arms.”]

Something I think about a lot is how, especially nowadays, people complain about 'dated' references and memes in video games (mainly borderlands in my experience, but I'm sure it happens with others)
And the 'dated' thing they're talking about is something that was popular or trending like. A year or two ago. Sometimes a couple more, fine, but still happened DURING game development.
And it's just like.
Bestie.
It wasn't dated when they wrote it in it was current. They can't write in memes or references that are current as of launch date because it takes time to do this shit.

I was doing a thing where I tried every single branch in a good amount of Cyberpunk 2077's dialogue ages ago, and I just have to say it left me surprisingly impressed.
It is largely linear, but not nearly to the degree that I had first thought.
There aren't massive branching dialogue trees, but there are just quiet little diversions that happen so smoothly you don't even necessarily realize you made a branching choice...unless you get in there with time to kill and 6+ reloads. Taking a blue choice or acting in a timed dialogue, for example, can appear to have little consequence at first but has actually quietly shifted you onto one track instead of another.
The effect, I realized, is that as you play it feels like the choices you made are the only ones possible.
First of all, how fucking brilliant. Second of all, it's so thankless - if I hadn't gone back with this silly little project in mind I would have continued on my way thinking it was as simple as it first appears. It reminds me of the first person pov, both in how unpopular it was and how it clearly, carefully supports a beautifully immersive experience. The difference, I guess, is that first person pov smacks you in the face and makes you admit it's brilliant, while dialogue flies under the radar.
Ultimately, I still can't get over how intentional they were with this game, and how willing they were to take risks - and I hope to god that mindset didn't get crushed by the initial reception.

The Code of Crystals (Chapter 1) has been updated! + Game Information
Tumblr media
You heard it here first,
[THE CODE OF CRYSTALS CHAPTER 1 IS AVAILABLE ON ITCH.IO]
It has been re-released with a prettier UI, an additional CG for Eranis, and some edits here and there.
But if it's only chapter 1, why is it 10€? 10€ is the price of all five chapters combined.
As of right now there is no way to only buy the first chapter and I understand that you would not want to buy a game that is not technically "finished". However you may very well wait until all five chapters have been released before buying.
There is also a demo which you can download in order to try out TCOC and see if it is a game you would enjoy.
Chapter two will be released in late 2025 or early 2026 and I hope to see you there when it comes out 🖤

⭐️I JUST PUBLISHED MY FIRST EVER GAME!⭐️
Do you think we're soulmates in every universe? is a short (~10 mins) visual novel about love and alternate universes. It has 3 endings and includes art & coding made by your's truly.
While it isn't anything super impressive, I have been wanting to release a game (whether it was a short or long one didn't matter to me) for so long and to finally do so is super exciting for me! Thank you if you download and play it, I put my heart and soul into making it for the Dialouge Game Jam this past week. I hope this leads to me uploading bigger projects in the future, and I hope you'll be there when I do. 🧡
You can find the link to play my game down below.

Can’t Wait for Grand Theft Auto VI
You ever get those moments when you’re just sitting there not doing anything in particular and suddenly you feel it hit you? That little buzz of excitement. Today, for me, it was one of those moments. I was just sat here, feet up, thinking: “Bloody hell, I can’t wait for Grand Theft Auto VI.”
Honestly, Rockstar Games has that magic touch. They’re the Apple of the gaming industry. And I don’t say that lightly. We’re talking about a company that doesn’t just make games  they craft experiences. Stories. Worlds you can get lost in. Just like Apple doesn’t just make phones  they create tech that becomes part of your lifestyle.
Now, let’s not pretend they’re perfect saints. Rockstar’s had their scandals remember the Hot Coffee debacle back in the San Andreas days? That stirred up a media firestorm like no other. But you know what?
So did Apple. Remember when they removed the headphone jack from the iPhone? Everyone lost their minds. “How dare they!” they cried. And yet… here we all are, AirPods Pro in our ears, loving the sleek wireless life. Because whether it’s Rockstar or Apple, when the dust settles, what you’re left with is a product that just works and works bloody well.
They’ve got the same silence, the same smug confidence, the same ability to vanish for years and then reappear with something that blows every other product out of the water. And like Apple, they’re extremely private almost obsessively so.
GTA VI is shaping up to be one of those monumental moments. We’ve waited over a decade since V dropped. In that time, Rockstar’s stayed relatively quiet  focused. Calculated. It’s very Apple-like. Minimal noise. No unnecessary hype. Just letting the anticipation build like a kettle on boil. And you know when they finally do lift the curtain, it’s going to blow the bloody doors off.
There’s a certain artistry to the way Rockstar does things. Every detail matters. Every character, every line of dialogue, every city block  it’s thought out. Planned. Delivered with polish and punch. That’s what gets me excited. It’s not just the carnage and chaos we all love about GTA  it’s the atmosphere. The social commentary. The satire. The raw realism wrapped up in absurdity. It’s a game, sure, but it reflects life our world, our nonsense, our contradictions.
And just like with every new iPhone, people will moan. “It’s too expensive.” “It’s just more of the same.” “They removed X feature!” But when launch day comes, everyone wants in. Everyone’s queueing up digitally (or physically) to be part of the experience. Because it’s Rockstar. Just like it’s Apple. The game (or gadget) might ruffle feathers, but by the end of the day, the consensus is the same: damn, they’ve done it again.
So yeah. I was just sitting here… and I thought, “I can’t wait.” Not just for the missions and the mayhem  but for the moment. The cultural flashpoint. The debates, the reviews, the memes, the YouTube breakdowns. GTA VI is going to be one of those releases. One we talk about for years, like we still do with Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA V.
Mark my words  GTA VI will be the iPhone moment of gaming. And I, for one, will be front and centre with controller in hand, grinning like a schoolboy.
Bring it on, Rockstar. We’re ready.

Can video game launchers just die? There's no good reason i should have to run some crummy, laggy, advertisement riddled, useless pseudo-website just to make a game run. For a game that runs fine entirely on my computer, there's no good reason I should need to log into an account, or connect to the internet.
What happens when the checking server closes down? What about when you want to play somewhere outside the city? They're so slow too, even the ones with minimal news and rubbish take longer to launch than the actual games.
Anti-Piracy? This is making me want to pirate to avoid this bs. I just downloaded Tor.
I don't mind online videogame stores, but the launcher is the worst development in recent history.
