hey babe wake up. top gun. watched a video about queer villany and oohuhhhhhhhhgllglggggg.ggg.

ice is, in the very since of the word, the perfect antagonist- hes rude, stuck up but in an obvious way, hes directly against everything maverick does while maverick is the hero (he has the same problems as ice though.) ice fits into the norm but at the same time we are only shown mavs perspective which is inherently different than almost all the aviators

you could argue "wow ice is evil" and like sure but its refreshing to see someone whos not entirely bad but rather misguided- we know icemans character is like this because of his father (ty val kilmer for this btw) , and hes trying hard to fit into a world that will never accept him. and that. honestly doesn't make him awful. even in arguably his worst times he still comes back, hes not an irredeemable character, nor is maverick.

they are such opposites that we never know whats the real "true" standard - mavericks not standard on being an outsider but iceman isnt either on being a hater with maverick

also funnily enough, iceman is one of the only charachters to actually have a big problem with maverick! slider, wolf, wood, sunny, etc etc dont shit talk him. but ice is constantly pushing back against those standards because maverick represents the wrongdoing to him.

DEAR G-D ICEMAN PLEASE STOP WITH YOUR INTERNALIZED HOMOPHOBIA AND KISS HIM ALREADY!!!!!

however as he grows up he recognises those actions- at the end of the movie he doesnt see maverick as bad. he sees him as good, and promises that hell be there. MWAH eating this redemption arc UP.

and while maybe ice still has skills that have to be worked on its not entirely evil- and connecting back to the queer thing, to show a charachter who looks evil but also is capable of growing and changing and not being evil just for being gay

maverick is more accepting of his identity but yet they still falter but they can still pick each other back up

addition: ice is very good at it. he explains everything to bradley with confidence and precision. ice trusts bradley so ice lets bradley drive him around one day.

15 year old bradley and admiral kazansky are never to drive in the same car again, just because ice is the worst backseat driver and cannot help but tell bradley what hes doing wrong. (he doesnt mean too, obviously, but that perfectionism.) they get home, ice has a migrane, bradley looks shell shocked, and mav calls up slider and PLEADS for him to teach bradley how to drive.

I truly believe Mav doesn’t have his drivers license for the same reason I don’t and that is because he gets distracted by any plane. Ice 100% gets so stressed because of it, he lets Mav drive them to work once after he finally gets his license and never again.

That also leads Ice to be the one to teach 15 year old Bradley to drive and he was either really good at it or so bad that Slider had to step in.

"oh look nate's here to complain about bfb again" you're damn right i am. i recently rewatched bfdi s1 and in the finale, firey boarded up the gate to dream island after he rejected leafy from it. his ass was NOT going to talk to her so why is he trying to make this a thing 💀

i'm fully convinced that the writers either just forgot parts of previous seasons or just really wanted to make leafy the bad guy when she had every right to be mad at firey

after they made up, leafy had to call out firey for never apologizing to her. what's really telling about this is this shows that unless firey is directly told that he fucked up, he won't acknowledge what he did wrong. instead of coming to the conclusion himself, he'll just keep acting like everything is normal until it blows up in his face (also adding the fact that since time passes in the show based on when the episodes were released, meaning that firey didn't apologize for 2 months)

I finished catching up on BFDI and I wanna give my final (not really) thoughts on it. Yes I was thinking about this the entire time I was taking a shower. And yes I did accidentally spend too much time in there because I was focusing too hard. What do you want from m

TL;DR: I REALLY LIKE TPOT & BFDI people aren't looking at it DEEP ENOUGH. AAAGH

Ok so basically. I don't think BFDI was ever about the prize. Well maybe in the first season when Cary and Micheal had no idea what they were doing because they were like 12. But y'know. Anyways.

I think, over time, the series became focused on the contestants more than anything. It started to focus more on relationships, how the characters interacted with each other and their surroundings and circumstances. It became like a ... not a message. What's the word. A story, I guess. About how easily relationships can be changed, good or bad, maturing and growing, learning to respect boundaries, finding a soulmate. All of this stuff packaged in like. 5 seasons. kind of.

Like. Firey and Leafy for example. They were good friends until Firey refused her entry into Dream Island when he won. She got angry and jealous and felt betrayed, so she Fucking Stole It from him, breaking his trust. And for the longest time they stayed strained. Nobody liked Leafy, not even Firey, and that hurt Leafy a lot, I imagine because she'd been isolated for so long. But through communication and almost forced proximity, they managed to work things out. While it took them a little while, they finally reconciled. They forgave each other. They realized that their friendship was more important than some dumb prize. This is really important to me I think. It's such a strong message- that nothing- nothing- is more important than connecting with other people.

And I think what perfectly contradicts this is Pencil in TPOT and. a lot of Golf ball too. Golf Ball says it herself in the most recent episode- she'd been so focused on winning that she hadn't realized she was hurting people- Donut literally had to shout that at her for her to realize that.

Meanwhile, because of Pencil's tarnished relationship with Book and Ice Cube - and the trauma that came with being trapped in Four's head for years - she's become jaded almost. She doesn't care who she hurts or what she has to do, she can't go back there. Even though she wouldn't-- there's a new host, with a new elimination area. I know her """"Crashout"""" scene gets dogged on a lot, but it's genuinely a super powerful scene. It's a view into her mind, into what she's thinking. She's not thinking rationally. She doesn't care if the timeline is ruined, she has to win.

I think another big reason why Pencil is the way she is is. well. she was away from everyone for years. Things have changed so much. Freesmart is gone. Match isn't by her side anymore. Everyone is so different. She wants things to go back to how they were before Four and X showed up, I think that's why she's so adamant on Book joining her alliance.

Meanwhile, Book is already learning to move on. She's making new friends like with Winner and Price Tag, she made up with Ice Cube and Gaty by giving them the space they wanted. In a way, Pencil and Book are very good foils of each other. One can't move on, while the other is already on her way, working her way towards betterment.

Pin and Coiny are a good example of another thing-- codependency. Ok that's not the right word I think but it's similar. She relies on him so much. They've stuck with each other since BFDI I think, they've been through so much together- him getting eliminated in TPOT was hard for her because of this. And also the fact his elimination was during a high-stress situation. She used his ass as a shovel wdym thats not love LMFAO. Anyway.

I just. AAGAH. There's so much more I could say, so many good examples, but this'll get way too long if I keep going. Final message is this:

Don't judge things at surface level. Looking deeper into things is how you find a deeper appreciation for it, even if there's flaws. The BFDI series is very good and well written, and the attention it gets is much deserved.

Oh and btw if anyone disses you for liking TPOT or any object show in general I will personally kill them for you ok? ok. Thanks for reading guys I'm totally normal about the characters in this show

Just making myself sad dw about it.

Has anyone ever thought about the whole Zeke and his euthanasia plan thing in a different manner? About how this poor boy grew into the man we get to see while constantly drilling into himself the knowledge that building a family is nothing short of pain, abandonment and disappointment. Passing through life, making sure he himself knew that he had no chance at a normal life. And I find that beyond sad, for I know he would have been a good father- given what he has been through. He would have made sure to never allow his child to feel as pressured into things as his father made him feel, and he would've done everything in his power so that said child would not feel unwanted- not even for a second.

I find it sad, because just like almost everyone we get to see, he did not have the chance to live a normal life. Knew damn well he would not be allowed to grow fond of people, to fall in love, to grow with someone in any manner other than a collegial one.

So yes, he was aware of what he was getting into, he was sure he wished to continue Tom Ksaver’s legacy and fulfill his vision, but what about what could’ve been? What about the life he might have had had he been allowed to grow like any normal child- What if in the back of his mind there is the tiniest of boxes that contains the smallest of wishes he had in this cruel life?

Becoming a father. Growing old by someone’s side, and watching as he broke the horrid chain Grisha had wrapped around his throat. Holding his newborn with a smile the sky and the sun and the whole world had never before seen- simply there...on his lips. Hearing his child’s laughter echo through the peaceful and safe home he’d created for his family. Watching it grow and mature and exhibit his and his partner’s behaviors. Something that would melt anyone’s heart. Seeing the innocent eyes of the beautiful life he’d brought into this world, unaffected by war and hate and pain and suffering.

Maybe in the couple of moments he had up there, attached to the reminder of his brother’s betrayal, he thought of that. Even if just for a split second, he thought… he wondered…and he remembered he was never meant to have a happy ending.

Sundae sees the FreeSmart Super Van pull up by her during the nighttime.

"Hello Sundae! Hop in buddy." Ruby gestured her in. "Oh... thanks Ruby." She smiled in reply before walking to the van and hopping in.

Then while Ruby is driving, the dessert responds "Hey, Ruby... do you got any music to put in your... van?" She replied "Oh, i do apologize but the radio is a bit broken."

"Oh, right."

"But it's okay, maybe why not I start doing some singing."

Ruby makes some sounds, which makes Sundae cover her head due to that of her sensitivity to loud sounds.

Coming into the van is Leafy. "Hello Ruby."

"Hey Leafy, come join my singing."

"Okay."

The two then continue their song, while Sundae covers her head to avoid the noisy singing.

Then she thought of something... She grabs her phone which is plugged into her own earpods, she plays her favourite music, and then places the earpods onto her.

Sundae suddenly feels relaxed and peaceful now... away from the uncomfortable noise.
