Unveiling the Modern Lehenga: A Curated Collection by Samyakk
Introduction:
The wedding season is a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors, joyous celebrations, and of course, the bride in all her resplendent glory. In the realm of Indian weddings, the lehenga remains the undisputed queen of bridal attire. But tradition takes an exciting turn each year as designers infuse fresh influences and exquisite craftsmanship to create ethnic wedding lehengas that are nothing short of show stopping.
Tumblr media
This blog delves into the hottest trends that are stealing the show in 2024, highlighting the unique designs, color combinations, and intricate detailing that are captivating brides-to-be. We will also explore some of the most exclusive bridal lehengas from Samyakk.com, a treasure trove for those seeking a lehenga that reflects their unique personality and makes a lasting impression.
“Happiness is the secret to all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without happiness.” — Christian Dior
A Symphony of Colors: Breaking the Mold
Gone are the days of predictable palettes. Modern brides are embracing a kaleidoscope of colors, from trending bridal lehenga choli colors like jewel tones (emerald green, sapphire blue) to softer hues like blush pink and lavender. Unexpected pairings are also in vogue, with brides opting for an ethnic lehenga for wedding bride in mustard yellow with hints of lavender, creating a truly personalized statement.
The Power of Prints: Where Tradition Meets Modernity
Prints are no longer relegated to a supporting role. Latest wedding lehenga designs showcase a resurgence of traditional motifs like paisley and floras, but with a modern twist. Think bolder colors, unexpected placements, and unconventional embellishments. Stylish bridal lehenga choli outfit collections from Samyakk.com, for instance, feature breathtaking paisley jaals in metallic gold or geometric prints in shades of gold, adding a touch of edge and sophistication.
Tumblr media
If you are looking for an ethnic wedding outfit, look no further, visit Samyakk.com and choose from a wide range of lehenga designs such as:
Egyptian Blue Sequins Embroidered Bridal Lehenga.
Asha Bhat in Samyakk’s Rust Orange Sequins Embroidered Raw Silk Bridal Lehenga.

Dark Maroon Red Zardozi Embroidered Velvet Exclusive Bridal Lehenga.
Dark Plum Purple Sequins Embroidered Net Bridal Lehenga.
Tender Peach Sequins Embroidered Net Bridal Lehenga.
The Magic of Textures: Adding Depth and Dimension
Designers are pushing the boundaries by experimenting with textures in wedding lehenga designs. Imagine a lehenga/bridal where luxurious velvet panels are interspersed with soft tulle borders or a lehenga where shimmering silk panels are interspersed with plush velvet borders. Samyakk.com offers a variety of trendy bridal lehenga outfit that exemplify this textural play, adding depth and dimension to the outfit.
The Statement Dupatta: More than Just a Veil
The dupatta, traditionally a veil, is now a fashion statement in its own right. Brides are experimenting with lengths, drapes, and embellishments. Samyakk.com offers a variety of dupatta to complete your unique look. A bride can choose a dramatically long dupatta reaching the floor, or a shorter one that drapes gracefully over the shoulder accompanying her ethnic wedding lehenga. Embellishments range from delicate mirror work to opulent Zardozi embroidery, making the dupatta a true showstopper.
“Fashion is about dreaming and making other people dream.” — Donatella Versace

Hobie with a Desi! S/O
cw/ fem! Reader, horrible attempt at writing British people, including multiple desi cultures bc my girlies need all the representation we can get (it’s slim pickings out here) all fluff, some cultural struggles, but everything is resolved, mentions of insecurities
(LONG POST- headcanons and a drabble)
I'm goth and I had a literary awakening when Hobie showed up
Tumblr media
There are literally only two ways I see the two of you meeting
The first involves you being a friend/relative of Pavitir’s, who is exceptionally happy his two homies are getting along
In this situation, Hobie would know a little more about you from the get go, and you most likely would know about him (Pav thinks he’s so cool, he’ll talk about his friends to anyone who’ll listen)
Another; in my opinion, funnier, way for the two of you to meet is him accidentally crashing a desi wedding when he’s on Spidey business
You would be mildly peeved with him for disturbing the wedding, but his spunk and generally opinionated personality make you fall for him
Either way, congratulations! You have the world’s loveliest punk boyfriend
As a boyfriend, Hobie loves helping out in any activity you need help with
He’s the type of boy who tries his absolute hardest to be there for any event that is important to you
No matter if its a massive grad party or a late night pizza run, Hobie is there and having the time of his life
Now, moving onto the cultural aspect, Hobie adores learning about other cultures
Your family is weary of him at first, because of the way he dresses primarily
He manages to find a place in their hearts after they see the way he treats you (with respect and dignity!!!!)
Also the fact that he eats whatever your mom makes, entire plate, man will lick it clean
(I mean, have you seen how much British people love takeaway?)
“Is your mum home yet?” “She’s making something good I bet, she always is.”
He can HANDLE spice, and he’s good with kids (his interaction with Mayday proved that to me)
Your parents may end up, in a shocking event, liking him!
Hobie is your biggest hype man whenever you wear cultural clothes, especially if they’re a little on the edgy side, dark colors and all that
Lehengas, shalwar kameez, sarees, etc, he loves them all
“You're dressed up, aren’t you?”
He’ll explain it to you in this mysticised ‘stepping on eurocentric beauty standards’ type of way, but you know deep down he just thinks you're super pretty
He’s obsessed with your features, no matter what you look like, he thinks you have the most perfect face in the world
If you ever make Hobie Desi food, he’ll be in love with you forever
He loves pani puri, especially if the pani is a lil spicier
His love language is acts of service, and you making him something to eat is like, you are nourishing him?? With bomb Desi food?? he’s is seeing heaven rn
He most DEF asks Pav (who then asks Gayatri) for advice on how to impress you
This leads to him, hanging onto your windowsill, with a Mendhi tube in his hand, and a calm smile on his face
As Hobie slid off his mask, his gorgeous hair fell to the sides of his sharp face. Placing the spiky mask on your side table, he sauntered towards your bed, abruptly sitting down and motioning for you to follow him.
You sighed, and smiled as you took your spot in front of him. He was alway so considerate, taking your interests into mind whenever he swung by.
“You know, I’m not a pro at this or anything.”
He grinned, almost wolfishly, and placed the small sharp tipped tube into your lap.
“I could care less, do anything on my hands.”
You gently took one of his hands into both of yours, spreading it out to see the flesh of his palm, his nails were painted red this week, courtesy of you, of course.
His long bony hand flexed as you gently took off each of his silverish rings, one by one.
You were completely focused on this simple act, treating him with a gentleness only you could offer him, a complete contrast from his usual existence.
“I don’t have a lot of time today, my cousin’s getting married, we have to go to some pre wedding events.”
Hobie perked up in interest, sliding his free hand to smooth out your gingham sheets.
“And what do you plan to wear?”
His mind flashed through all the traditional clothes he’s seen you in, each more ornate and beautiful than the last.
“The lehenga most likely, the peach-ish one, with the sparkles.”
You undid the little plastic pin at the top of the Mehendi tube, applying a slight pressure and making a small line on his palm to start out with.
Hobie looked at you closely, remembering the last time he saw that specific lehenga.
“That one’s cute.”
You laughed a little, looking down at your messy drawing.
“I was going for a flower but it sorta looks like a palm tree.”
He looked down at his hand, a messy smudgy, and less than finished flower was on his palm.
“Maybe, a couple more petals on the top, yeah?”
You squeezed the Mendhi tube again, carefully drawing three extra petals on the top.
“There! I think that's good.”
Hobie looked down at his palm and kept a laugh back, poorly albeit.
The flower wasn’t necessarily bad, just a little wonky.
“It's absolutely beautiful.”
You smiled.
“Hold your hand still until it dries, then peel off the crumbly bits, okay?”
Hobie mockingly saluted with his other hand, matching your smile.
“Anything you say.”
You giggled, taking his face in your hands gently, careful to avoid snagging one of his piercings.
“What am I ever gonna do without you?”
His expression turned a little soft, keeping his smile steady.
“Let's hope it never has to come to that.”

A snippet from Krishavyayam hehe-
Small points to be noted before you get started—
Kamalnayani/ Hridayaa/ Mohini are the same person. The same oc has multiple names.
Mohini is also Hari here, as we know. Hence, Mohini and Mohini it is hehe-
Please if this offends you, tell me and I'll pull it down. This is purely fiction and does not intend to offend any religious beliefs and sentiments.
You'll find the whole book on Wattpad, so cheers! ✨
Tumblr media
She was bewitching. The woman before whom demons swooned and caelitis were rendered wordless. Dark as the zenith hour of dusk and as radiant as a nymph who rose from the cerulean waves, she had her wife in a daze for she had poof-ed out of the blue (god).
Kamalnayani looked half amused, half moonstruck as Mohini grinned at her, winking notoriously. She sported a red and black lehenga of chiffon, diamantes stuck to the flowy fringes as well as her kohl-lined eyes and she swung a vial of mead in her willowy fingers— all too coquettishly.
Why, you ask?
"Because I last saw her so long ago," Hridayaa accentuated, sheepishly batting her eyes at Kanha and linking an arm of his to hers. The latter had mirth dancing in his very handsome features and it wouldn't be wrong to say he missed those precious moments either.
Ogres raced hither and thither for one touch of Mohini who swaggered through the waves, effortlessly charming all. Flowy tresses wrapped in the whiff of lotus and pearl ornaments dangled on her voluptuous form. She was beautiful and lethal. Woman and vulpine.
"And I miss her."
He snorted out a laugh, tendrils jumping up to his forehead to kiss them and then he obstructed them with a rake of his sculpted fingers, "I am literally right here, Hridayae."
"No, Mohini." She whined, almost hopping in her place but he disciplined her with quasi glare. Krishu pouted, seeming more of a child than a mother— as if demanding not a woman but a candy. "I want Mohini! She can give me excellent company these days and you know we're nearing the due date. Also she had a kid so she can give me great parenting tips meant for mothers. Kanha pleaseeeeee?"
"As my queen pleases."
And so, Mohini and Mohini were now face to face after ages— giggling vivaciously and maniacally at each other's sight.
"So where should I escort you now, wife?"
"Jhumka shopping!" Krishu tugged her, then waddling around to the brass and copper caskets to arrange for casual robes for herself. Mohini hummed and slipped herself in the quilts of the soigne bed, then spat her beverage right through her mauve lips out of pure whammy when the whims of Kamalnayani surprised her again.
"And we're hitched. We are begetting a kid through the blessing of an austere sage. I don't want anyone ogling at you in the marketplace, hmm? They don't have any right to."
She shortly inclined her head in a yes, inarticulate. Of course, they were married.
"Right. Only you do." The goddess simpered through the chalice sitting on her mouth. Then she clipped her bracelet against her dainty wrists, kissing where the pulse chanted the name of an archeress.
───  ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅  ───
"This for Bhadra Jiji, this for Lakshu Jiji and oh— Jambavati Jiji adores teals and turquoise!"
Oxidized silver bracelets, bronze armbands, floral rings and arabesque silks brimmed the tawny stalls on wheels as the two goddesses stirred past them, riveted by the grandeur of the city that was their latibule. Krisha and Mohini walked hand in hand, occasionally picking a bloom or two to profess their love in dramatic whispers as their secretive chortles became the fantasies of little girls who watched them from afar.
The ivory and maroon turban with pearl motifs caught her attention and then she waved her hand at her husband- urhm, wife.
Kamalnayani smiled at the lady vendor who beamed at her with gentle eyes. "What do you expect?"
"A healthy baby. Nothing more." She shrugged cordially, looking over her shoulder to find Mohini partially veiling herself as she peered at the bustling streets through the rich translucence of her raiments.
"She seems new here. Do you know her?" The genial old woman squinted, "Why would she do that? Does she not know it's not normal to mantle her face in Aryan practices?"
"She's new here, Kaaki," Hridayaa answered in a jiffy as Mohini sprang to catch up with her, flashing the gleam of her cloaked dagger to the bandits who gawked at her. The bunch inhaled sharply, going about their own businesses when they recognised her as a beguiling mirage. An elusive dream.
Women with lethal beauty were to be feared. It was doltish to trust her who had other eyes trailing on every gait she took.
"Mohini. She's enchanting and gravitates a lot of attention to herself she doesn't wish for."
"Oh. Your friend?"
"This is my wife, aunt." Mohini giggled instead as the seller flushed, then ducked her head while murmuring a small apology. "No worries."
"Exquisite couple, best wishes to both of you." She fished out a leaf of tamarind from her purse, then slid the velvet turban from the honey-eyed woman to the one whose smile was as sweet as it. Kanha— now Mohini, brought a pair of suryakanthi jhumkas and slipped in Hridayaa's lotus palms.
"Pretty moms make pretty babies."
Kaaki Sulochanaa— with eyes as pulchritudinous as her name— chuckled once again at the flushed women who squirmed a little closer to each other, surreptitiously stealing gazes and then shuffling in opposite ways, the presents never seeming enough.
"Oh, so you both aren't yet out of the mushy-mushy phase?"
───  ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅  ───
The dusk and the moon and their realm in Dvaravati wasn't exotic to their ardor for each other. It was the atelier of the art they painted each other in.
The scarlet roses and ivory jasmines embraced each other in the curls of the enchantress who sat between the legs of her wife, inclining her swan neck to the side as her eyes shut themselves when ivory fingertips skimmed through her scalps and skin. The sleek obsidian waterfalls and warm breaths of the woman of flames fondled her nape and Mohini wanted to flee into the aisles to escape from her namesake, but she knew the sacred smokes and ambrosia would chase her still. For the woman who carried their child was said to have seized the sense of a thousand men too around her.
"You are seducing me, good lady Kamya?" She crooned, her voice as soothing as the psithurism of the forest they promised to be each other's.
"Keep dreaming. I have always wanted to do your shringara," Agneyaa murmured lying through her teeth and when she felt a frisson run down below her touch she smirked. "Hesitate for nothing though, darling. I am quite a charmer I am told."
Mohini let out a shuddered breath, rolling her eyes and then she caught the hand of Mohini who was yet sniggering at her. "Enough now. Your skills are laudable. I have never looked this beautiful." Her gaze traversed to the mirror which gaped at two women like long lost lovers. The stones of lapis lazuli and rubies and diamonds were bestrewed upon her lithe physique like stars on the ether. A spark birthed in her guts and she was an art. An art to be ravished by her lover.
Kamalnayani giggled and pressed a chaste kiss to the cheeks of that beauty who turned pink. Then she filled the dips of the curves of Mohini's spine with her fingers binding the kamarbandh, husking near her earlobes, "Lies."
She stifled the throes of her heart and an amaranthine smile stayed on her visage. As they multiplied and she was unwavered, she was the epitome of every mother. Mohini whisked around and pulled her in a slow dance, unhurried and buoyant as their limbs swayed in poised waves— grinning as they found forelsket again and again.
Afterall, nightmares were dreams too. The heart of Keshava was living a vision of a lover for now.
───  ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅  ───
Kanha found blue roses, azure water lilies and peacock feathers all tied together by a string as a gauzy navy robe enveloped them. "They reminded me of you, love." The whimsical note read, stuck to the spruce wood table and he grinned plucking them from it.
"And oh, I loved being with Mohini."
He was a fuchsia yet again.
The setting was an atelier of a picturesque art in making— born of the love of an archeress and the chakradhaari.

like imagine him and you being invited to a wedding and you're part of the wedding party so you don't get ready with him and even though the both of you are engaged he's never seen you in a fancy ass lehenga before so he absolutely freezes when you walk past him, in your element, tying jasmine onto the brides hair and you see him and bonus if before you both leave you adjust his sherwani pin and THE MAKING OUT THAT ENSUES MY GOD IM YEARNING SO BADLY RN
Asian Ting in a Lehenga (Frankie Morales x desi!reader)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Warning: kissing + hot Frankie, swearing Word count: 1k
A/N: tell me that this robe wasn’t just a sherwani and that the ovary or blood vessel I just burst was worth it. Short drabble based on this ask by @brekkers-desigirl and damn my brain literally can't handle this omggggg
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Frankie frowned at his reflection as he ruffled his hair, attempting to tame it down a notch before leaning against the wall furthest from the crowd as he waited for you. The deep mustard sherwani that was detailed with suns you had bought for him made him look like a prince but Frankie had always been one to not like the spotlight on him. He sighed as he looked at his watch for the umpteenth time, waiting for you to make your appearance.
To call you his fiance was a great gift and he loved your family, your culture and whatever made you the beautiful woman that you were. You were quite literally the apple of his eye and no one on this big blue Earth even comes close to you.
As the sister of the bride, you had taken your position as the maid of honor very seriously, making sure that everything was planned down to military precision, which Frankie also was very proud of (and slightly turned on by). Frankie absolutely enjoyed the whole of yesterday, watching you order people around while he trailed around you eating and feeding you tasty Indian sweets, his mouth set in a dreamy grin that earned him buckets of laughter from your relatives.
Frankie’s thought bubble burst as he caught your distinct sweet perfume. Before he could call your name, you quickly brushed past him to rush up to your sister. Frankie’s mouth dropped to the floor as he freezes, his eyes scanning your form as you held up jasmine flowers while yelling at your sister. Frankie had never seen you in Indian clothes before and he swore that you had exceeded his expectations tremendously.
Your lehenga was the same shade as his, decorated with similar sun patterns and its long skirt cascaded down your body as though you were a goddess draped in sunshine. Your hair was worn in a half up and half down hairstyle with long beautiful tendrils framing your face. You were pinning the extra flowers onto your sister's hair while Frankie’s eyes were pinned onto your gorgeous skin that peaked between your blouse and skirt. Frankie made the mistake of moving his eyes slightly upwards, gazing at the low neckline that adorned your blouse and he felt a warm swirl of dizziness settle in the pits of his stomach.
He reached out for you and you moved, causing your dupatta to latch onto a bead at the cuff of his sherwani. He mindlessly followed you as your dupatta clinged onto him like the last ounce of his sanity. He watched your hips move almost fluidly and he couldn’t take it any longer, his arm reaching out to grab you and pull you close. You gasped and let yourself be pulled into his chest as he turned you to face him.
“Frankie…” you breathed, scanning his face as your face lit up in a smile, only for it to fade once you caught the look that graced your man’s face.
Once your brain had regained its functioning abilities, you wordlessly stood a little straighter and tipped your chin upwards, freeing your arms from his grasp. Frankie dropped his arms to his side and dipped his head.
Fortunately for Frankie, you had other ideas.
You curled a finger under his chin and tipped his face up so that his eyes met yours. You stare for a while, admiring the way he had shaped-up his beard and the way the sherwani settled beautifully on his broad shoulders. You dropped your hand to the collar and adjusted his sherwani pin before pulling him close, until your mouth grazed his ear.
“Bride's changing room in five, pretty boy.” you said, before leaving Frankie to stand there open mouthed as you quickly rushed off to settle your sister.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
The second you had opened that door, you knew you made a small error in choosing a lehenga with such a low neckline. You clamped your eyes shut as you were pulled into a hasty rush of yellow, big hands grabbing onto your hips and dragging you further into the room.
“Look at me, amor.”
You opened your eyes to only have them flutter close as Frankie traces a line along your exposed abdomen with one of his fingers, before pinching you softly, making you gasp.
“Francisco!”
“I did tell you to look at me.” he shrugged as he smiled down at you.
“Fine, I am now, what are you-”
Frankie cut you off by pulling you close and kissing you fiercely, the fury blinding you to the point that you felt like blacking out. He pinched you again and licked into your mouth when you groaned and pushed his straying hand away. You slid your hands into his curls as you deepened the kiss, his arms wrapping around you and pulling you flush against his chest. His lips were warm against you before he suddenly pulled away and nipped at yours, causing you to moan a little too loudly for your liking. He pulled you in for one more kiss before leaning his forehead against yours and exhaling heavily.
“Fuck, you look delectable, mi diosa.” He says, laughing at how delirious he felt, tugging at your skirt.
“Nuh, uh, that's enough, big boy. We’re going to be late.” you said, shaking your head at the way Frankie’s fingers grip your skirt and the way he dipped his head to your neck for some soft kisses.
“A goddess, that's what you are, and you are mine.” he said into your neck.
You love the effect you had on him, but you had a wedding to run. Frankie groaned softly as you pulled his hands away from your skirt.
“I’ll let you have your way if you behave.” you said, wondering if the compromise might put his thoughts on hold.
“Fine, but I don’t think I ruined your make up enough.” He said playfully, swiping his finger on his lips to show you the lipstick you left on it.
“Now you understand why I didn’t get ready with you right?” you said, patting his face.
“We would have never left the room and I would have been fine with that.” he huffed as you laughed and kissed him on his cheek, happy with your oversized troublemaker.

Hi! Any tips on how to embrace and connect to your Indian/desi culture? I’m struggling
Heyyy , here
Embracing desi culture
Tumblr media
First step to connect to who you are is knowing your roots , a very easy step is to ask your elders , observe the people around you , if you don't reside currently in India , watch some Bollywood movies , some good cartoons , some amazing music .
Know your language, when you're able to realise the beauty in your language and you know that you belong in this you will automatically start to see yourself in the light of your culture .
Then go to some books , some stories , some fiction goes a good mile , for example: an Indian fictional story and there is a character try identify with the character .
What are the rituals in your religion , try doing it sometimes , like Hindu rituals or muslim customs, Sikh customs etc , for example try reading a version of gita , recite Gayatri mantra , read namaz , wear Sikh attire, go get some information about the churches in India , India is deeply tied to religion and each religion has its own beauty, identify and keep doing what makes you belong, it might seem a bit off putting at first but i promise you will grow to love it.
Wear desi dresses , like a lehenga , kurta , shervani anything anything buy online , but locally . I do not believe there is another attire more beautiful than a saree and you will love it , get your hands on jhumkas , do glam makeup the clean makeup girlies can wait .
Cook Indian food , eat Indian food , the flavours will bind you really good with your culture .
Celebrate festivals , go attend an Indian shaadi , so many customs rituals , food , music , people around , it's like a gala my dear , outside people would pay so much for that and you get it for free so don't refuse any invitations .
Lastly don't be embarrassed of yourself, media portrays us weirdly at times but know thyself where you come from , it's a history of establishment, ruling , love , survival , fights , it's a story of floor spilled blood , of the ancestors who ensured you live with pride , so do it hold your faith in who you are .
