hiya leigh!! just wanted to say your tags on that post about the show had great points that tbh I wasn't really thinking about (<- girl who is just here for the vibes) but I agree with all those thoughts..overall what's your general feel so far are you having fun are the changes annoying you too much etc? <3
HI KIRA i too am just here for the vibes <3 most of the stuff i have to criticize so far doesn’t genuinely irk me it’s just like hm they could have done this better but i am definitely having fun!! i loveeee walker as percy he nails his expressions and tone 🫶🏻 really like the extra focus they’re placing on grover & hope we get more of it as the series goes on!! vv excited to see more of annabeth too leah plays her very cool and collected which is not really the annabeth im used to at this age who is a lot more um. prone to exasperation and openly desperate to prove herself i guess? but leah is definitely fun to watch and im really interested to see where it goes. she got more than a few laughs out of me and she’s barely even had any screentime yet so. <3 cannot wait to see more of her!!! overall positive feelings & can’t stop thinking abt getting the rest of the eps it has been on my mind all day today aghdjf

Never changed it once. Sooo I'm Harry Potter's mom and yes very in love with James Potter.
Also Lily is a flower and my real name means a flower from heaven so it's pretty cool

TOP 9 BOOKS
tagged : @hmsharmony ty jennifer this was SOOO hard oh my god like. genuinely agonized me for days to think about what to choose but it was SOOO fun tho <3 tagging : @rosesau | @evcndiaz | @pendrgcn | @gayarthur | @the-tenth-arcanum | @oretsev | @wherepoetsdie | @bellamyblakru | @ryekat & anyone else who wants to do it !!! rules : list your top 9 books obviously. i cheated a little and put series as as one option because that's just who i am as a person. most of these i chose at random from my 5 star reads from the past few years btw
1. percy jackson and the olympians (series) by rick riordan
i was never a big reader in elementary school—or at least not to the extent that my classmates had been. my sixth grade english class required us to bring a personal book from home for silent reading and i stole my brother's spine-cracked copies of pjo and brought them to class. i finished the whole series in less than a school week (i had to scramble to the library to pick up another series because the single novel should have lasted me at least three weeks). pjo literally kickstarted my love for reading as a hobby and i truly don't know how to state the importance it had on my little ten-year-old brain fr
2. on earth we're briefly gorgeous by ocean vuong
i have never read a book more beautiful in prose and so uncommonly human than this. there's just something so incredibly heartbreaking knowing this whole book is the narrator's letter to his mother who can't read! like what the fuck
3. alone with you in the ether by olivie blake
this came as a surprise to Me when i first read it. i meandered through the first quarter, loving the writing style but feeling disconnected from the characters until the Church Hand Scene™ and it was hook, line, and sinker at that point (i have since come to love the disconnectedness in subsequent rereads, knowing that the feeling was the Point). i have read this book four (4) times since i read it first last year. LAST YEAR!!! olivie has like... fundamentally altered my brain chemistry or something because i feel like everything i have written since having read this book has been somewhat influenced by it.
4. much ado about nothing by william shakespeare
what can i say! this is theeeeeee romcom ever. i have watched so many adaptations of this play, read it countless of times and can recite some iconic lines, and still the banter between benedick and beatrice is sooo elite. cannot be topped!!
5. a place for us by fatima farheen mirza
fun fact: seed rec'd this book to me and has been reccing it to anybody who would listen. the prose is so lush and melancholic. it's one of those books where nothing Really happens, but you feel Every Emotion Under The Sun and you're just like. altered by reading it
6. the song of achilles by madeline miller
obviously.... OBVIOUSLYYYYYYY this had to go here. if i had two nickels for every greek myth retelling i read during school that fundamentally changed me etc etc u get it. i read this as a junior in high school when we, yet again, had to bring a personal book to read durin class. i think at that point of my life, i've never read something that tragic yet so beautiful at the same time and now i am always looking at the beautiful and tragic in media. so! there u go! brain cells rewired and whatnot!
7. the grisha trilogy by leigh bardugo
this is funny because i . technically did not rate any of these books 5 stars i'm sobbing. but like, considering the fact that my url is what it is and the way i always have them in the back of my mind, it's no wonder that i put them here. i have such an odd attachment to these books and these characters. i had copies of these books since their release but didn't touch them until ... before the sab tv release which is so fucking funny. like i don't know what i would be like if i read this as a t(w)een. i would've been so fucking insufferable ngl
8. when my brother was an aztec by natalie diaz
i actually read this for an assignment and had to write a report on it and i had SO much fun doing it. diaz plays a lot with hunger and her imagery is literally unmatched. i think about the way she contructs sentences and am filled with such envy. my beginning sentence for my paper was a nod to her style (though i failed miserably). it was: "in a paradoxical sleight of hand, hunger feeds in natalie diaz's debut." she is just. so fucking good at words i need to CHOMP on it
9. sharp objects by gillian flynn
you know the thing where you see a really popular author for a really long time and they have their work adapted to the screen and it's so good but you still haven't read their actual writing? yeah, that was me with gillian flynn (specifically about gone girl). i read gone girl, i read sharp objects, i read her short story the grownup, i'm currently reading the last novel of hers that i haven't read, dark places, and flynn is just so... incredibly good at constructing harrowing stories. it's no wonder why all three of her novels got adapted to the screen! her prose is so grounded. vivid. there's this ease to her writing that, whenever i concurrently read another novel, i always find the other piece to be lacking. i slink back to flynn's prose and immerse myself in her awful, human worlds.

I made a poll in late February about taking down my fanart wall and posting that stuff, so if you want to find that it's all tagged #wall fanart on here 👍

🤍 welcome to my blog 🤍
♤ you can call me Lynnea
♡ i'm a minor
◇ i do not tolerate any sort of discrimination on this blog
♧ if i ever say something harmful or incredibly stupid, please correct me
🤍my interests🤍
op is a swiftie lol. i love taylor swift, she is mother. my favorite albums are fearless and evermore
you can tell from my popular posts i love the grishaverse. my favorite ships are kanej and zoyalai. my favorite characters are also kanej and zoyalai. let's talk about kanej and zoyalai. i love the sab cast but i do not love the show
those are my two main fandoms that you'll see on here. if you're part of both, we should definitely be mutuals!
i've also read all the riordanverse books and am a casual fan. but you can bet that this blog will have more pjo once tsats releases. my favorite character is reyna, my favorite book is the last olympian. and i'd be glad to have more riordanverse mutuals and talk about any of the books too
have you read the lunar chronicles? you should read the lunar chronicles. it was honestly my favorite book series before i read six of crows. there's an animated movie coming and you should really, really read it. i recommend it so much
i am currently, impatienly waiting for the 3rd book in the once upon a broken heart trilogy and i really need more people to read this. it's so good and the 2nd book is so heartbreaking, you will love it, please read it
sometimes i'll also reblog stuff about marvel, willow, and lockwood & co. other fandoms i'm a part of are super casual
i won't tell you to stream shadow and bone, but i will tell you to watch lockwood & co because it deserves another season so much more
🤍my favorite authors🤍
leigh bardugo – i love the grishaverse so much. i haven't read ninth house or that wonder woman thing she wrote. but i have read sab, soc, and kos. and i am just in love with her characters, her stories, and her writing. i could talk days and days about how much i love her books. i really recommend the grishaverse to anyone and everyone
marissa meyer – i have read all of her books except one i am still reading. i've read the lunar chronicles, renegades, heartless, instant karma, and gilded (minus the second book because i'm still reading it). i really recommend reading any of her books, i just love each and every single series or standalone she writes, regardless of the genre. you can ask me for recommendations if you want! my personal favorite is the lunar chronicles, next is probably heartless. i just fall in love with whatever she writes, no matter the genre, just like i do with taylor lol. please read her books, they're so, so good
rick riordan – i've read all novels in the riordanverse, there are too many side books that i'm not sure if i've read all books. i really, really love his books, and i'd recommend them to anyone regardless of age. my favorite series is the original percy jackson & the olympians series. next is probably magnus chase & the gods of asgard. my favorite character is reyna and i'm so excited for the sun and the star

“She'd laughed, and if he could have bottled the sound and gotten drunk on it every night, he would have.” - Six of Crows

What to Read While Stuck in Quarantine
Right now, many people (myself included) are stuck inside and social distancing due to the Hell that is considered our world because of Corona.  As a fun activity for myself and in the hopes of maybe helping a few people through this weird/uncomfortable/stressful/whatever other negative phrase you want to use time, I thought I’d compose a list of books that may occupy your time. I’m going to try and stick with completed series or stand-alones so that in addition to everything else you’re not miserable you have to wait for a new book.
Similiar to my Non-Horror October reads post, I’ll add the Goodreads link so you can check out ratings and such!
So...here is my list of books that might help get you through the dumpster fire that is our current situation!
(I am aware some of these are very popular but I’m adding them anyway in case someone hasn't read them)
Tumblr media
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
After serving a year in a slave camp, Celaena Sardothien is granted the chance at freedom when the crown prince chooses her to be his champion in a competition to find the new royal assassin.
If you haven't read this series yet and love YA fantasy please do yourself a favor and get it. Katie and I love it so much
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
A loose retelling of Beauty and the Beast; Feyre is dragged off as a prisoner to a magical kingdom after killing a faerie while hunting in the woods.  She comes to learn that maybe her captor, a beautiful Fae trapped in a mask, might not be as terrible as she thought.
I’m not even going to lie this was difficult to give a two sentence summary of. The first book is great but 2 and 3 are exponentially better and Feyre is just the badass woman we all need.
The Iskari Trilogy by Kristen Ceccarelli
Asha is the Iskari, responsible for hunting dragons in her kingdom. Engaged to a man she will never love, she is given the opportunity to prevent her marriage by killing the most ancient of all dragons.
All three of these books are interconnected but each one follows a different main character.  They were all AMAZING, but book two (The Caged Queen) was my favorite
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
In the country of Ravaka, cut in half by a darkness called The Shadow Fold, Grisha are an elite magical group.  After learning of her own abilities during an attack on the fold, Alina Starkov is taken away to learn to harness her power while under supervision of their leader, The Darkling.
I put off reading these like an idiot and finished them a few months ago and absolutely loved them. King of Scars is a continuation but maybe wait until the second one comes out to read it because I’ve been struggling getting over it and anxiously waiting for any news about it.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Kaz Brekker is one of the most notorious criminals in Ketterdam. When offered a job that will make him rich beyond his wildest dreams, he gathers a crew that can help him pull off a deadly heist.
This book has an array of diverse characters and a lot of excitement and hijinks. Takes place in the same universe as Shadow and Bone, so I would recommend reading it after them, but it can be done on its own.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw
The small town of Sparrow is located on the coast of Washington and has a troubling history.  Every summer witches possess three mortal girls and use their bodies to lure boys into the ocean and drown them.  When a new boy arrives Penny doesn't know if she will be able to protect him from her sinister home.
I read this one in a day and absolutely loved it. Easy and entertaining read.
The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller
Alessandra is tried of being in the shadow of her older sister so she devises a plan: make the Shadow King fall in love with her, marry him, and then kill him and take his kingdom.
This book was described as a ‘slytherin love story’ and I was all about it. It was an easy read and definitely kept me intrigued in the story.
Gone by Michael Grant
All adults disappear, along with cell phones, internet, and any other way to get help. Teens are left to pick up the pieces in this sic-fi story.
I read this series a pretty long time ago but it was SO GOOD. Grant did such a great job sucking you in, to this day I will still recommend it to people.
The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning (Book #1 is Darkfever)
When her sister is murdered, MacKayla travels to Ireland in search of answers. While there she learns she is able to see beyond the human realm, into the real of the Fae.
Honestly this series was so wild and I remember there being some unnecessary erotic stuff but it was still SO DAMN ENTERTAINING. A good way to escape the humdrum of quarantine life.
Anything by Gillian Flynn
If you need a thriller, murder mystery, etc just honestly pick Gone Girl, Sharp Objects, or Dark Places. They're all so good.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Scarlett has always wanted to participate in the fantastical performance that is Caraval. She gets her wish when an invitation arrives, but then regrets it when she learns the performance centers around her sister Tella, who has been kidnapped by Caravel Master Legend.
I love these books. Scarlett and Tella are both amazing in their own way and the mystery and not knowing what is real and whats part of the game makes it so fun to read.
These Rebel Waves (Stream Raiders) by Sara Raasch
Adeluna is a soldier that helped free her home island of Grace Loray from its oppressors, the kingdom of Argrid. Devereux is a pirate, sailing the waters of Grace Loray and collecting its magic plants and selling them on the black market.  Benet is the Crown Prince of Argrid, unsure of his father’s beliefs and methods after watching his uncle and cousin burned to death after practicing magic. Their fates are intertwined as they all search for peace between Grace Loray and Argrid.
Katie and I both just read this and they were so good. The beginning is a little slow but the history you get on all the characters is great.
Angelfall (Penryn and the End of Days) by Susan Ee
Angels of the Apocalypse have fallen to Earth.  Streets are ravaged and life as we know it is over. When Penryn’s little sister is taken by Warrior Angels, she's willing to do anything to get her back, even make a deal with an enemy angel.
I looked for a hard copy of this trilogy everywhere and couldn't find it, so finally gave up and got the kindle books.  I loved it, the end of world sci-fi and enemies-to-lovers tropes were wonderful.
The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking) by Patrick Ness
Todd Hewitt lives in a town of only men, where everyone can hear each other’s thoughts.  He stumbles across a girl in the swamp, the only one he’s ever seen and it sets off a chain of events that can't be stopped. On the run and hunted by the only people he's ever known, Todd tries to discover the dark truth of his world.
This series was so well written and just sucked you in. Even if it seemed like nothing was happening or was going to happen soon, I couldn't put it down.  The books are all long too so thats a plus for quarantine reading.
And if you need something to bring you back to a time when things were simpler, may I recommend rereading some old favorites, two of mine are:
Harry Potter by J.K Rowling and Percy Jackson and the Olympians (also The Heroes of Olympus) by Rick Riordan
These don't need links, but they were two series that I loved when I was younger. The Goblet of Fire was the first big chapter book I ever read on my own and PJO just was so fun. I just read all the PJO graphic novels because I found them when I redid my bookshelves and it was a nice little escape.
Honestly, I have more recommendations but I feel like this is a long post already so I’m going to stop here and maybe I’ll do another one.
Anyway...happy reading, I hope this helps someone. It definitely improved my mood. Just remember High School Musical and hopefully we’ll get through this soon.

📣 Rules: answer the questions and tag 9 people you want to get to know better or catch up with
❤ Three ships: Percabeth (obviously). Joe/Nicky from The Old Guard have been ruling my heart for the past week and a bit though. I’ve started reading fanfic for them which is when you know a ship will be sticking around for a while and is not just a passing phase. And yesterday I got back on my Kala/Wolfgang (Sense8) shit somehow.......god the YEARNING.
🎶 Last song: Ring by Selena Gomez!!!! What a groove. Also if anyone has any song recs for songs that are drum heavy with great lyrics hmu.
📺 Last movie: THE OLD GUARD 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖. I’m obsessed. I adore it. I think about it all the time. I was going to watch Enola Holmes yesterday but I took a nap instead. Might watch it today.
📚 Currently reading: I’m about halfway into Brisingr from The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, which I’m reading for my cousin and am not entirely attached to but I WILL finish. I also started rereading Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo a couple of weeks ago so I’m alternating between them depending on my mood but holy shit.....Six of Crows really owns my entire heart what an incredible two books. I also love audiobooks and am currently listening to a recorded dramatisation of Maya Angelou’s autobiographies - I’m up to her 2nd one: Gather Together in My Name.
I’m tagging: @simpercy (when u come back i miss u), @calamitous-love, @hoarderoffandoms, @skatersokka, @nerdylizj, @bipercabeth, @amyscascadingtabs, @judoflipped and @kelseykreppels.
