miguel was one of a kind, and he was not just any ordinary sugar daddy to say the least. you on the other hand didn’t quite like when he’d spend money on you for unnecessary things. and you know that the whole point of having a sugar daddy is to get spoiled and get taken care of. you appreciated that miguel has given you the finicial liberty to be stabled and let him take care of the most IMPORTANT things that required miguel’s attention and money.

the only reason you had a sugar daddy was not necessarily because you were in dire need of money. you somewhat had money of your own but it was because you were lonely…you craved the companionship, the attention, the physical aspect of relationships, and love. you were a recluse and a “nobody” under the eyes of the world but to miguel you were his everything. miguel had always been generous, showering you with his affection and wanting nothing more than to just make you the happiest person in the universe. but there was one thing about him that made you feel conflicted - his desire to spoil you with expensive gifts and treat you like a princess. you didn't want to be labeled as his "sugar baby," nor did you want to take advantage of his wealth. so, you often found yourself refusing his offers, much to his dismay.

So on one sunny day, miguel took him upon himself to drive you around in his Porsche 911 Carrera Gt3. miguel had one hand on the steering wheel while his right hand was squeezing your thigh lovingly. his fingertips gently brushed against the curves of your thighs and gently squeezed the plush side of it. he side glanced at you and you noticed him smiling at him. “so, i was thinking of taking you out on a date to the mall,” he spoke with dignity and excitement because he was going to try to spoil you whether you liked it or not. his focus was on the road mainly but he stole a few glances admiring your beauty and your peaceful nature. you nodded slightly taking in his suggestion with caution, “mmkay! sure, i`d love that very much.” Miguel’s happily nodded and took you to a fancy mall.

the vibrant atmosphere buzzed around you as the two of you strolled hand in hand, window shopping and enjoying each other's company. however, tension began to brew when you passed by high-end stores like Chanel and Dior. you exactly knew why he had brought you there stopping abruptly which made miguel slightly stumble on his feet. you let out a sigh of guilt, “miguel, i appreciate the gesture, but i can’t let you spend so much on me,” your voice was full of guilt. “i don’t want you to feel like you have to buy me expensive things.”

miguel heard you and frowned, his expression was clouded with concern. “but, sweetheart, i want to spoil you. it’s not about obligation or impressing you—it’s about expressing my love and making you feel special. let me do this for you, for favor.” you felt your heart strings being pulled because you could tell miguel was being genuine and sincere. you sighed, torn between your desire to please him and your internal struggles. “i understand, but i can’t help but feel guilty. i don’t want our relationship to revolve around materialistic things. it is the love and connection that matters most to me.” you gently squeezed his hand and pulled him closer.

a soft smile tugged at the corners of miguel's lips as he gently cupped your cheeks, his eyes filled with sincerity. “you don't have to worry about that, cariño. trust me when i say that my love for you isn't tied to material things. but allowing me to spoil you from time to time doesn't diminish the value of our connection."

his words resonated deep within you, and you couldn't help but lean into his touch. despite your reservations, you understood that miguel's intentions were pure and driven by his immense affection for you.

“okay, miguel," you finally relented, your voice filled with a mix of gratitude and love. “i’ll give it a try, but let's remember that the most important thing is our love and the moments we share together."

despite you telling him that you're going to be completely fine, childe has never been one to listen

and he immediately ushers you into bed, pulling the covers up to your chin if you're cold, taking them off again if you're cold

well if you weren't running a fever before you certainly are now because of that pet name

other than letting you rest in bed the whole time, childe will come over every now and then to check that you're doing okay

you don't call him at all, really, since you don't want to take him away from his important business...

when he comes back home every quarter hour or so, he'll spend the next five minutes by your side

even if he definitely has the blood of enemies all over him and is panting like crazy, he'll sit by your side, taking your hand tenderly in his and kissing your knuckles

as one of the winners of my valentines giveaway, this drabble is for @frutillia! the artwork was done by @softfairies, who is very cool and also proofread this for me so yk,,, go support her :)

paloma sits restlessly in the passenger seat, glancing between the road ahead and grayson next to her, his fingers drumming against the steering wheel along to the beat of the music playing in the background. she doesn't recognise the artist, but her best friend seems to be a fan of the acoustic melody and raspy vocals. she still can't quite wrap her head around it; she used to know everything there was to know about the man and now she finds herself getting to know him all over again. so much has changed and yet not enough, especially not the butterflies in her stomach anytime they're together. but then again, it's finally their first date; she's allowed to have butterflies.

she clears her throat, shifting in the seat to turn her body towards him and he tilts his head towards her to show he's listening. "so, um... you haven't told me where we're going."

keeping her eyes on his face, she watches as his cheeks begin to turn red.

"it's a surprise," he says softly, almost as if embarrassed by his idea and before she can come up with a reply, he reaches over the center console to take her hand in his.

"okay," she agrees, her own face getting warm and she gives his hand a gentle squeeze. the drive continues in comfortable silence and its not long before grayson pulls the car to a stop in an empty parking lot, the beach front sprawling out in front of them.

she glances at him curiously but he only smiles back. climbing out, he rounds the front of the car to open her door for her, refusing to listen when she insists she can do so herself, and he makes sure to grab a backpack from the backseat before taking her hand once more. she follows along as he leads her down the sand, the waves lapping softly at their feet.

"if i had known we were coming to the beach, i wouldn't have worn jeans," she jokes and he glances down, sheepish.

"sorry," he says before looking at her again, a smile curling on his lips. "but i'm hoping it's worth it."

"what is?"

squeezing her hand, he slides the backpack off his shoulder. "since it's our first date," he says as he begins to pull open the zipper, "i thought we could maybe build a sandcastle."

he pulls out two plastic buckets and spades, and she feels as if her heart swells in her chest. judging from the size and bright colours, it's obvious that they're cheap children's toys but it doesn't really matter. not when it's with grayson.

she smiles back at him, overwhelmed by the amount of love she feels for him in that moment, and she reaches for a spade. "just like when we met," she says softly, running her thumb over the groves in the handle. when she glances up at him, she finds him watching her with a hopeful look on his face. "i think it's perfect."

his shoulders sag with relief and he pulls her into his side, pressing his lips to the crown of her head as if its the most natural thing in the world. she sinks into him, breathing him in and longing for more, but he lets her go all too soon.

"so, paloma," he states. "tu veux construire un château de sable avec moi?"

she laughs. "of course."

grinning, he sinks to his knees on the sand and she follows suit. together, they build in silence, though as the castle grows, she notices him paying more attention to her than the task at hand.

"you know, it doesn't count if i do all the work," she chuckles and he shakes his head as if to shake himself from his staring only for his eyes to lock back onto her face almost immediately.

"sorry," he says but she can tell he doesnt quite mean it. "i'm just not fully convinced this is actually happening."

she can't help but frown. "what do you mean?"

"that you're here, real and in front of me, for starters," he replies and her stomach twists at the thought of their time apart. "and that you agreed to go out with me. i never thought you would."

"i never thought you would," she says. "i've had a crush on you forever."

a bright smile unfolds on his face that she finds contagious. "who knew we were such idiots?"

"i think everyone but us," she quips and when he laughs, she realises just how much she wants to make him laugh for the rest of time. and without really thinking, she says the words she been wanting to say for lifetime. "i love you so much, gray."

as if a switch has been flipped, he launches himself at her and her squeal of surprise is effectively cut off when he kisses her. full of passion and years of pent up longing, it only takes them a few seconds to get lost within each other. it feels like an eternity when they pull away and simultaneously not long enough. he presses his forehead against hers; his hands gently cupping her face, thumbs brushing over her cheekbones. she thinks she could lose herself in the warmth of his gaze until he speaks. "i love you too, paloma. forever and always."

feeling suddenly shy, she glances away, turning her head to the side and catching sight of the heap of sand that used to be their castle. "looks like we'll have to start again," she pouts and he glances briefly at the castle ruins before kissing her cheek.

"i'll do anything you want me to," he states. "especially if it means i get to kiss you again."

"grayson?"

"yeah?"

"kiss me again."

he's all too happy to oblige.

When Jack dragged you into the back of the alleyway and held that cloth to your mouth, your first thought was something along the lines of ‘oh, like that Taken movie?’ Admittedly, the eyeless man had only done his fair share of watching and waiting, not actually getting close enough to speak from you.

From what he could tell, you were just a sweet girl. Always willing to lend a hand, always ready to give some cute word of encouragement, but by the gods he learned so quickly that you had no survival instinct whatsoever.

In fact, the first thing that you said to Jack after coming to threw him so off guard, he almost stopped the car.

Driving in the dead of night is always fun, mostly because Jack knows he doesn’t have to use his glamour to do so comfortably. He’s got the high beams on and is humming to himself, wondering when you’re going to wake up.

It’s like you were listening, because you sat up in the backseat, not worried whatsoever. You just - sat up, looked around, and then looked at him and made a noise like a ‘mhm!’

“Oh, so you’re up,” he began, a little worried you weren’t freaking out.

Instead of screaming, or fighting him, you continued shuffling in the backseat trying to get comfortable. “I hate the way this feels,” you began, obviously not a fan of the material of the seats.

“The restraints stay-”

“No, the seats,” you say. “I don’t like this particular leather.”

He pauses. “Wait what?”

You shift again. “This material is super uncomfortable, you couldn’t have gotten a nicer car?” You finish as you finally find a comfortable position. “So, why am I here?” You question, checking out your appearance in the window of the car.

Jack sighs deeply. “I-do you promise to not freak out?”

You nod, a little upset that your lip gloss was smeared. Need to fix that later. “Why would I do that?”

Jack grips the wheel as he continues down the expressway. He almost felt at a loss for words. He rakes his fingers through his hair. “You’re never going home.”

You gasp for a second, your bound hands reaching up to your mouth to cover it. “Oh my goodness!” You exclaim before letting the thought pass through your head. “So, I don’t have to do finals?”

Jack almost slams the break as he enters onto the tamp for exiting off the expressway. “What?”

You shrug. “No finals, right?”

He throws up a hand from the wheel. “Shit - I, I guess so?” He looks for a diner or something. “Are you hungry or-?”

You nod before moving around your wrists and ankles. “These are super uncomfortable, can you maybe untie these soon?” You ask, cocking your head to the side.

Jack takes in a sharp breath as he mentally begins to will his glamour together, hoping that whoever is in the diner wouldn’t care about the state of you two. “Sure? Just promise that you won’t do anything stupid?”

“Like what?”

“Like, running away? Saying anything stupid?” He continues as he parks in the lot of some restaurant he doesn’t even care about.

“Uh, I wouldn’t dream of it?” You say as if it was second nature.

Jack’s brow twitches up. How did he not notice this from you earlier? He watched you from a distance and saw just how gentle and kind you were, but never could have dreamed that this was who you really were. It’s not like he’s entirely mad, he’s just surprised and confused. He takes in a deep breath, takes the keys, and slides out to meet you in the backseat.

You watch as he opens the door and you finally see him. He’s got dark grey skin, no eyes, but his teeth are sharper than daggers.

“This is gonna go soon,” he says, gesturing to his face. And just like magick, you watch as his skin changes to something more human, his eyes fill with blue irises - it’s pretty.

“Pretty,” you note as you hold your wrists out to him.

He hums in response, his index and middle finger swiping upwards to cut the ties that bind you.

You make a noise of interest. “Sharp,” you grin.

Jack shoots you a look as you wiggle your hands free. “Don’t… Cut yourself…” He murmurs as he cuts your ankles free too.

You smile and stretch a bit before sliding out of the car, taking his hand with a giggle. “So, what are you?” You ask, gripping onto his bicep and walking with him across the parking lot after he’s locked the car again.

“A demon, I guess,” he says as he leads you to the empty diner.

“That’s so fun,” you remark, thanking him with a nod as he opens the door for you. "Wait, so I got the attention of a demon?"

"I guess so?" He replies.

You giggle and brush up against him just a little more fervently. "That's so exciting. I wonder what I did to get your attention?" You gasp. "Did I accidentally summon you? Sometimes my typos look like dead languages, y'know?"

He laughs. He actually laughs before shaking his head. "N-No, you didn't summon me or anything," he begins guiding you to a table. "I just happened to like you." His index finger lightly taps your nose, and you bloom so beautifully in response.

You sit down across from him and look over his form, seeing how he looks so much more human before you get comfortable. "Is this normal for you?"

"What?"

"Taking girls?"

He shakes his head. "It's not. You're just special."

You bloom again.

And from there, he just listens to you talk. He hears you talk about anything and everything, like you’re not fighting him on anything. He listens to you talk about your roommate in dorm and how you think she’s so nice (despite him knowing she’s a vindictive jerk) and how you somehow managed to get a scholarship despite not even being able to spell the word “orange” without asking someone. He listens to you talk about the world and why people can’t just visit the sun at night because “it’s asleep” and he listens with a smile.

“Are you not upset with… this?” You hear Jack say with an eyebrow raised, slowly sipping from his coffee cup as he continues to listen to you.

You shrug as you cut into your pancakes. “No more student loan debt!” You say with a large smile.

Jack can’t honestly believe what he’s hearing. He’s not sure whether he’s in love with you even harder or if he’s just… He’s confused, to put it lightly. He hears you talk about how work isn’t a problem anmore, and how your parents constantly pushing you to go bigger than what you know you want to do isn’t a problem anymore and he can’t help but feel that he’s the one taking you away from all of this.

He’s always felt some type of way for you, that much is apparent. He’s loved you before he even met you. You’re just… Different from what he’s expected. Is that inherently a bad thing? Of course not! In fact, your naivety about the world and everything in it makes you deserving of his protection, and that’s what he’s deciding he’s going to do. He’s going to protect you, shelter you from the world and all its cruelties.

He’s going to take you away from all of this and let you think the world is just sunshine and butterflies, and things as sweet as your personality. He thinks you’re so gentle…

As he watches you finish up your pancakes and giggle over some story that makes absolutely no sense in his opinion, he watches you with a lovesick expression, watching how your eyes crinkle and your nose scrunches up ever so slightly.

You need protection in this cold, hard world.

- satoru always takes them to some remote getaway resort during vacation breaks. he's sure to spoil his lovers with quality food and service. sugushoko let him because wow is it nice to be pampered from time to time

- nanami grew with satoru's bullshit, shoko's nagging and suguru's indulging esp after haibara. the three did not want him to feel lonely, so they tried their best to help him

Sandrone

He's very observant! He can be dense regarding romantic stuff of course, but other things he's hella in the know. Sulien remembers or notices everything somebody he cares about says or does regarding things they like. So yes, he will always have your favourite takeout and snack ready before you even realise how sad you actually are. He knows.

Ohm

Like youngest like eldest I suppose. Ohm is also incredibly observant. Ohm is a bit more annoying with it because he will know you're injured even if you try to hide it. But beyond that, he's like a dog. You're sad? Cool let's go do something! Literally contradicts his above annoying trait but I mean, Ohm is weird as hell, he manages too many two faced traits. Anyways have a lollipop.

C. Child: Your OC encounters a crying, lost child. How do they react?

Sandrone

Ooh.. He's confused.. Sulien doesn't do well with people crying in general, let alone kids. He's had some practice with Tartaglia's little siblings, but that's not very much. He's kind of a yk criminal, so he'll probably bring the kid to the nearest location that looks like it'll be able to help them find their parents. He won't stick around for all that long, he's so awkward.

Ohm

He is on a fucking mission. Ohm is a doctor, he's a very good doctor, he's crouched down talking calmly within seconds. Always has lollipops on hand for this, and for himself, but mostly this. The kid's hand is in his while they're chewing away happily within moments. Then he'll find the parents, and they WILL get scolded on losing their child. Captain Ohm is not pleased ):<

D. Desire: Your OC has the opportunity to get the thing they desire most, but it means betraying a friend. Do they do it?

Sandrone

Yes. He does. A natural infiltrator, Sulien is known as a betrayer for a reason. Merely a job for the most part, a business transaction if you will. All relationships can be sacrificed in exchange of Freedom. He doesn't care. Sulien is tired, he has few friends as is, sometimes people need to go.

Ohm

No. Because betraying a friend for what he desires means to throw away everything he's ever signed his own life away for. Ohm can't do that, no matter how much he craves Death or Peace. One is obtainable if he makes a mistake and the other is unobtainable. He'll get there in the end without betraying somebody.

E. Excellent: Which of your OCs is the most virtuous?

This one will surprise people who don't as intimately know their stories. I mean come on, you have the Medical Captain of the Knights of Favonius vs a Fatui Harbinger, right? And yet, Sandrone is the more virtuous. Curious, isn't it?

F. Forgive: How good is your OC at apologizing? Do they own up to it when they’ve made a mistake? How easily does your OC forgive other people?

Sandrone

He's so condescending without meaning to be.. Mostly because the times he's apologised, it's been while arresting or killing somebody and he's saying sorry for betraying them. He makes an effort once he's realised he's hurt somebody he cares about, stumbles over his words, but he'll try. He always owns up to mistakes though, especially since he makes so few and he needs to be a good impression to his subordinates so THEY don't make any mistakes. It would depend on what they've done to him. He doesn't forgive nor does he forget sometimes.

Ohm

Very good! He's a fantastic liar :D! Ohm knows that sometimes to appease people, you have to do what you must, and he's a king with words for a reason. Another one who leads people and needs to show up as a good leader, Ohm always owns up to his mistakes. There are though.. Some things... In his personal life that he's only ever told two.. maybe three people.. Those mistakes.. They run so deep. Hurt too much. Ohm may be a very forgiving person, but he never forgets. Never.

G. Guilt: Does your OC often regret their decisions? If so, describe a decision they regret.

Sandrone

Conditioned to not feel, he ignores things like regret or guilt. He isn't programmed to feel them. He can't afford to. So it isn't often that he'll regret a decision. But when he does, he thinks about it forever. What he could have done better, what would have changed the outcome, he's supposed to be the best in his field at analyzing any given situation and yet.. Sulien just thinks too much sometimes.

Ohm

A lot of the things he has done he regrets, even if he deems them necessary to choices to make. I suppose Ohm is interesting like that, outwardly, he keeps going, keeps pushing forwards. Inwardly, it's a constant blizzard of guilt. I've always likened Ohm to a man damned, so his feelings about his decisions and the guilt he feels when he makes a bad one definitely fits into that.

H. Honesty: How often does your OC lie? Do they believe lying is ever justified? Describe a time your OC told a lie, or told the truth even when it was difficult.

Sandrone

His job is to lie. Head of Reconnaissance for the Tsaritsa, the puppet's function is to infiltrate what he needs to in order to gain the information he needs. Always adaptable, moldable, he's a liar at any given time. Even if he'd rather tell the truth, he never does, in Her name everything was justified. To tell a time he lied would be just looking at his work history. To tell a time he told the truth even when it hurt, would be more interesting. To compromise; in /almost/ all of his voicelines, he's actually telling the truth. Try and figure which are actually the lies..

Ohm

Ohm is clever, cunning, his personality handcrafted, perfectly put together piece by piece. Unlike his younger brother, Ohm is a natural liar. It comes easy to him, every honeyed word spoken from a tongue of silver. He has sins to hide and karma to beat back, if that means lying? Well. So be it. His most obvious lie that's revealed throughout his story quests would be that he's almost never on expedition to a nation for medicinal supplies, but rather he was infiltrating Snezhnaya to try and find his brother. A lie very few people knew the truth of, most notable being Varka, who gave his approval. Some hard truths are better off buried for Ohm Ambros.

I. Individuality: Is your OC’s morality more influenced by the society they live in, or their own critical thinking?

Sandrone

I mean... I'll just be honest, Sulien got tortured into utter compliance by way of forcing him to forget everything he ever knew. He's smart as hell, but if he has no frame of reference, then yeah... It's influenced by the people around him, his environment. Sulien is getting better about it though.

Ohm

His moral code is a roulette wheel and he's not sure where the bullet is. But hey, it's fine. Literally, I have nothing else to add. Ohm kills people, like, straight up disposes. But he's also a very nice man, so..

J. Jealousy: How often does your OC get jealous of other people? Do they keep their jealousy in check, or does it influence their behavior?

Both of them aren't very jealous people, one because Sandrone doesn't even fucking know he's jealous. And two, Ohm is just kinda dense unless someone is like.. uncomfortable, then he'll notice.

K. Knack: What is something your OC is skilled at?

Sandrone

Sulien's skill that I like to talk about the most is the fact he personally repairs his mask(and other things) with Kintsugi! It requires a lot of patience and technique and he is very good at it. Takes him forever though ngl.

Ohm

He loves his origami. He's very talented with it and can make pretty much anything. A lot of stuff he can do either one handed or without looking, but the more complex stuff he actually needs to concentrate on. He has a nasty habit of folding his briefing papers into cool little pieces.

L. Loathe: What qualities does your OC loathe in other people? Do they tend to be judgmental of others, even when it isn’t warranted?

Sandrone

He doesn't like super whiny people. It's just a personal pet peeve of his, he'd rather not. Like the whole high pitch "hmf!' kind of whiny? Yeah. Despises it. Otherwise Sulien isn't very judgemental! He's pretty respectful in general.

Ohm

Lmao Ohm is a hypocrite. He dislikes people who are reckless and put others in danger. He'll willingly put himself in danger, but not his team, which is the only real difference. It's weird, he's best friends with Kaeya and yet- ahem anyways. Call it the Doctor Vibe or w/e.

M. Mistake: Describe a time your OC did something bad, or was wrong about something.

Sandrone

War Criminal! Congratulations! He was behind the scenes making sure the sigils of permission were done correctly. I mean, he's a war criminal in general though. Personally, good dude. His work? Mm.. He's done things!

Ohm

I can't even be like "this dude killed two people when he was fourteen! that's bad!!" cause it was sort of warranted. I think, to Ohm, his biggest mistake would be "failing his parents' one task to him" which was to protect Sulien. And he failed to do that and lost Sulien for pretty much eleven years. It haunts him constantly.

N. Negative: What does your OC believe is their worst flaw?

Sandrone

Sulien has a bit of a thing where he hates how emotional he can get. He's been equated to machine so often that when he feels, he doesn't feel real. He dissociates and he hates that feeling. To him, it is his worst flaw. The puppet being emotional? What's the point? But he also doesn't know how to express his emotions in a healthy way, and I think it makes it all that much worse when he feels so strongly sometimes.

Ohm

Somebody who has a low outlook on themselves, there is very little Ohm likes. Though his inability to feel like he belongs or perhaps the karma attached to him would be the worst ones. To be haunted by demons, among other things, it is utterly ridiculous to him. And yet, here he is. How one can find comfort in somebody like him is just, beyond him.

O. Outlook: Is your OC more optimistic, pessimistic, or realistic? How likely are they to believe a bad person can change?

They are both Realists. To take a situation upfront and deal accordingly is who they both are at their core. Sandrone is more likely to believe somebody bad can become good, because /he/ wants to be good. Ohm is less likely to believe this, no matter how much he may want it to be true. But at the end of the day, products of environments that were so truly unkind, they are both realistic of the grim world around them.

P. Positive: What does your OC believe is their best personality trait?

Sandrone

For some odd reason, Sulien thinks how blunt he is at times is a good personality trait. I mean, like, I guess? He believes it at least. Sulien just thinks that being blunt is a good way of dealing with things without any communication problems or misunderstandings, and that's true to an extent.

Ohm

A man bound by contracts, it'd be how dutiful he is. Diligence is the name of his game, ultimately. He's been doing this since he was a child, he better be good at what he does, and he is. He always fulfills his duties, always does his role, always plays his part. His work is who he is.

Q. Quirk: Does your OC have any (minor) bad habits? If so, what? (Biting their nails, sleeping in, procrastinating, etc.)

Sandrone

Honestly most of his work takes place at night or the evenings, so he usually sleeps the day away. It isn't the best for a person, but he does what he must.

Ohm

Due to his insane alcohol tolerance, he definitely drinks way too much. But it never really hits him...? So he just kinda drinks those lil fruity drinks of his cause he likes the taste haha

R. Respect: What qualities does your OC admire in other people?

Sandrone

Honesty. He admires honesty the most. Sulien has been lied to a lot, had things taken away from him that nobody should ever have taken away. He just wants somebody who will tell him the truth, even if it hurts.

Ohm

Surprisingly, Ohm likes people who are resourceful, a little bit cunning maybe. He likes people who are useful to him, and being useful means being able to think fast on your feet.

S. Success: Describe a time your OC did something good, or was right when others were wrong.

Sandrone

Most of the time LMAO bye. Sulien functions on one perfected line of code. "Analyse the situation, filter what is appropriate, narrow the results, speak." He tells Pierro straight to his face that he's a better information gatherer because "the difference between your recruits and me lies within step three." He's not often wrong, the other Harbingers hate him for it.

Ohm

He does his best to do good things to make up for all of his bad karma. A doctor, a captain, an adeptus. He sacrifices his own vitality to heal others. I mean the list goes on. He tries, very hard, to make up for the things he's done.

T. Troubled: Which of your OCs is the most flawed?

They're both flawed in their own ways that I can't really compare them.

Sandrone was broken down into bits, had literally every sense of self or shred of dignity stolen from him, and then he was turned into a tool and used time and time again. That trauma will never go away, nor the problems or flaws that arise from it. Then you have Ohm, who was forced onto a path of bloodshed and slaughter in the name of Celestia. A pawn that has lost everything, everyone. Who failed, time and time again, and has to live with that, with himself. That also doesn't ever go away.

And I think to compare them would be unfair. Especially when the more they learn of each other's pain in their separation, the further they fall into that guilt and pain for their twin. They always blame themselves for what happened to the other.

U. Upgrade: Does your OC strive for self-improvement, or are they less concerned about becoming a better person?

Sandrone

He does what he can with the circumstances he's in, if that makes sense. There isn't a lot that Sulien can do to change himself or the things around him. But he tries to learn better life skills(like cooking) or pick up new hobbies and stuff like that. He really does try though.

Ohm

I don't think that Ohm sees the value of self-improvement. He knows he isn't a good person, and I think he knows, deep down, that he can't really change that.

V. Value: Is your OC more selfish or selfless? What would they sacrifice for a loved one? What would they sacrifice for a stranger?

Ooh they're so similar haha.

Sandrone

Selfless, he is always doing what other people want. His opinion always comes second. For a loved one? He will lay his life down. For a stranger? Well he'll do his very damn best if the situation calls for it.

Ohm

Selfless, following a set path laid out in the stars before him, he has no choice. Fate has called and he has answered, what he wants does not matter. But put his loved ones in the firing line? He'll die before they do, he can guarantee that, and he has the power to ensure that. An innocent stranger will receive very close to the same treatment, too.

W. Worst: What is your OC’s worst flaw?

Sandrone

He accidentally gaslights people a lot.. Like he lies to lie at times because he's so used to it? And if you've never been gaslit you are so lucky, its such an awful feeling. A lot of the time when he does it to people he cares about, he really doesn't even notice. And I think that's pretty much his worst one. I mean and he kills people but w/e.

Ohm

He's self destructive. It's such a big part of his character and just who he is and it shows a lot about who he actually is. Ohm can't stand what he's been pushed into doing and yet he continues to do it. He'd do anything to wash himself of these feelings and it leads to incredible self destructive behaviour. He also kills people but w/e.

X. X-ray: Does your OC believe that they’re a good person? Would you consider them a good person?

Sandrone

No, he doesn't believe he's a good person. I, as his creator, know that he's a genuinely good person put into a bad situation and forced to make bad choices to survive. He just doesn't see it that way, he can't, he's been conditioned to believe whatever they need him to believe to get him complacent.

Ohm

Also doesn't believe he's a good person. And I, as his creator, know that he's bad at his core, but he tries so hard to do good things. He wasn't given a chance, not really. He tries to make up for it, tries to cleanse his sins, but that blood never washes off..

Y. Young: How has your OC been influenced by their past? Are they a better person because of their past, or a worse one?

The answer is the same for both of them. Heirs to a clan favoured by Celestia, paths set in fate, destinies controlled by stars. They are influenced by things even further than their own pasts. Sandrone was allowed to forget his past, forget who he is, and what he means. Is that good? Is that bad? Who knows. But when he did remember as a child, he was very much influenced by it. Then Ohm, well.. Past mistakes and failures are who he is, right? The last thing he remembers is his father's words too him regarding destiny and given how ingrained that is in their family line. Well..

The past means everything to them.

thinking more if my funny little rewrite thoughts so like. here's an entire run down of what I'd do with season 1 of my pride

under the cut cuz its long and like. warning for like. everything that already happens in the series anyway

starting first! with the naming conventions. so the whole naming scheme is appropriation of indigenous culture. and I'm white so take this one with a grain of salt but replacing that mess with instead the mother naming the cub after a trait after getting to know em would. probably fix it? Like naming a cub Power or Tenacious and. stuff

the names could not only be personality based but just general descriptors. Quick for someone fast, Golden for someone blonde, Cherished for someone especially loved by their mother. Names could also be based off something they want the child to be, like Fearless or Perceptive. naming a child after something they don't start as, but turn out to be instead would make everyone to regard the mother as an especially good one for knowing her child so well. Being wrong would have the opposite effect. Waiting too long would bring scorn, implying you don't spend enough time with your child to think of any name at all.

Prideless lions wouldn't be named by their parents at all, instead given the right to name themselves based on what they think. This leaves room for them to rename themselves as grow and change, something pride lions cant do. Until the cub names themselves, the mother will refer to them with affectionate nickname.

and I think that. fixes that issue. onto plot

I think episode 1 is fine left alone, though all three children would be left unnamed. though I think its weird how quick managed to rip off the skin all around nothing's eye but didn't actually damage it. Like at all. so she's half blind now too.

So they go on lion trial, power saying quick is unfit because he was bested by a cub, so there's no way he could've beat star fairly. sharp calls forth the currently unnamed fire to ask his opinion as a supposed witness. even though I'm pretty sure he ran away before star died? eh <3

despite having the chance to get rid of quick, he says it was fair and quick has earned the pride. whether or not that's true, fire is a devout believer in pride law and a pride without a mane would be worse than a pride lead by a cheating mane.

because nothing and quick each half blinded each other, they go with the law of equivalent exchange. one each gets something from the other. nothing asks for her and her brother's lives to spared, and quick asks that she always takes as little resources as possible

instead of like. skipping 2 years. it would instead actually like. show the childhood. how nothing is ignored by her on mother, and doted on by fire. specifically because he think she's weak. despite doting on her, he also generally ignores her opinions.

even as a little wounded baby she gets the least food and water, enforced by quick and even fire sometimes, rules are rules. some of the unnamed adults will try to cheat this tho and get her more food and water cuz Holy Shit? Dude?

when she's a little older and not. covered in open wounds. the adults more or less stop trying to protect her. she's on her own now, and they have cubs of their own to worry about anyways.

since time is also a resource she gets the least of that too, most notably the least time being trained in anything. hunting, fighting, tracking, she's taught the absolute least.

despite that, she always tries.to do the absolute most. first to volunteer for anything she could theoretically do, last to get picked for any minorly important task. getting ridiculed for doing things slower due to her limp, to the point where she starts trying to just power through the pain to walk normally. it only slows her down and she gets mocked more. fire generally doesn't stand up for her, just makes her lay down

eventually she starts getting out a bit. The younger cubs mock her, their parents don't stop them, her mom never speaks to her unless its to antagonize her, and quick is downright terrifying. despite being healed up, fire never leaves her alone and disregards her when she wants to be alone.

this is how she meets hover, who is now named insightful. bc I just inexplicably cant stand the name Hover for a lion. she thinks she's insightful, but she's kind of just snarky and a little mean without saying anything w real depth, probably bc they're all prepubescent

despite being snarky and a little mean, she's a breath of fresh air to nothing cuz she's yk. not ableist and calls fire out when he starts acting ableist. its a short interaction, and when they're home fire immediately goes to tell his mom there's not only a prideless lion in their territory, but a cub, implying her mother and possibly siblings are around. cuz he's a little bitch

nothing gets into an argument with him over it, she could've been their friend after all, and both fire and her mom yell at her for even thinking about disobeying pride law

not sure what else to do here, so skip to when they're 2 and fires about to be kicked out. they're both still nameless, bringing a lot of bad opinions power's way. she's also required to name at least fire before he leaves. so she sits down, rolls her eyes, and half asses the name fire. quick is about to push him out but nothing interrupts, saying she still needs a name.

power gets annoyed and demands what she could even be named after, her injury? her disregard for the law? her ability to butt in at the most annoying times? nothing sputters, shocked and unable to come up with a response for a moment. before she can, she's named nothing

she protests, and even fire thinks that's a lot. they're both shut down, by power and quick respectively. most of the present adults are shocked, some of the older ones even appalled. none step in though. fire has to go, and nothing leaves toward the watering holes so she doesn't cry in front of her mom. all that stupid shit is internalized though so she starts trying again to support her full weight on her leg no matter how much it hurts. thinking maybe it broke and healed so wrong that it can barely support her now. idk I'm no doctor

she ends up laying down by the water, feeling all bad and in pain. then she notices the crocodile and some other lion and yada yada saves her life. insightful immediately recognizes her and that stops nothing from chasing her off. they catch up a little until they hear someone coming. insightful runs off and farleap, now called jumper comes out of the grass.

she questions nothing, she heard something and she can definitely smell a stranger. nothing lies and said she just chased off a prideless. jumper doesn't seem convinced, but doesn't push it because the stranger is gone, at least. so she just gets her drink and nothing goes home. and that's the day.

next day we can be introduced to feather, now named light. he's the runt of his litter, the lightest color of his siblings, and the light of my life. his name has nothing to do with the reincarnation stuff, which ill get into later. he gets teased for being smaller than his sisters, but keeps up an over energetic, happy mood that children have. he prefers hanging out with nothing though, seeing as she's not gonna be mean to him for being short.

he refuses to leave her alone to the point of finding out when nothing starts sneaking out to see insightful. their little dates go all nice and cute until light jumps out of the bushes scaring the life out of them. nothing freaks out a little because holy fuck? quick's son just found her out? oh god oh fuck! insightful is just amused though, because children are funny.

they make light swear to keep it a secret, and he promises. as long as nothing lets him go with her whenever he wants, because its fun breaking the rules and being out at night. it's a little less fun third wheeling on your cousin's date when you're like 7 but its fine cuz insightful plays with him

everyone thinks its pretty weird how both nothing and light are getting exhausted in the middle of the day, and jumper is still on that "I don't believe that you chased that prideless off" stuff, and eventually convinces power of increasing like patrol or whatever, and everyone keeps their guard up, making it harder for nothing and insightful to meet

this spurs nothing to ask insightful to join, to which insightful asks her to leave the prides and go with her. nothing says she doesn't want insightful to just have to take care of her and it goes back and forth and its a whole thing. it turns into an argument and they part ways for the night before it can escalate further.

the next morning, insightful has shown up and is asking to join. mostly so she can spend more time trying to convince nothing to leave the prides with her.

they get convinced and she is stripped of her name immediately. either quick or power will rename her when they come with something suitable. of course she is. upset as all hell. she swallows it though, since she's never seen nothing so happy. light is ecstatic, also, cuz he thinks she is cool.

go through some time showing insightful being worn down by pride life, nothing still continuing to practically destroy her body to make herself palatable, and light being downright bullied because he's still smaller than his everyone his age. quick even starts looking down on his son cuz Why Is He Still So Small? light begins to resent his father, and pride life a little.

jumper is rude as hell, naturally. except this time insightful actually stands up for nothing by cuz holy shit? that's your girlfriend why wouldn't you help her?

we can also implement the homophobia rule here. because of course power is a homophobe. would you expect anything less??

and yeah that's the vibe until nothing is left with some unnamed lion to look after the children while everyone else is off doing things that are important. she goes off for a drink and light follows her because of course he does. yadda yadda fire is back for a visit cuz he thinks nothing is like. useless and can't survive without him. their little visit goes down light thinks its so cool to meet a bunch of prideless men yk yk

on their way back they run into quick, who is followed by power and insightful. that unnamed lion with the other children said nothing and light had been gone for a long time and quick is pissed off cuz that's his only son n she just took him off for a jaunt.

he's yelling at her and insightful is about to interject before she's stopped by power, and light interrupts his dad to tell him about fire's group. cuz hey it'll make him leave them alone so like? go off??

nothing gets pissed off at him though because he just sent his murderous father off to kill her brother. rude or not he's still important to her. she and power have their interaction, power whining about how much she "loves" her children, you know. except nothing disowns her. power gets called out and yk yk. its a whole thing and gives nothing some of the agency she lost over the years

then she goes off to find quick, insightful follows her to help, and light follows them because he feels bad.

quick is dead, proud is a dick, light is hidden away in this scene. it goes much the same except light is seeing his father's corpse for himself and insightful is there negotiating their lives alongside nothing. also threatening proud

they yet away with their lives and run as far away as possible just in case he comes after light. nothing may be annoyed but letting your small cousin be murdered isn't cool

so they go off to find fire. its important to nothing cuz ykkk he's her last living sibling and as far as she's concerned, her remaining immediate family. he treats her how he does cuz he loves her, right? right. right?

nothing lives on the stretch how she lived in the prides, taking as little as possible of everything. insightful starts trying to get her to eat more before she like. drops dead. but its hard bc yk internalized self hatred is a vibe. they stay hot on fire's trail, until they come across some bones, a lot of blood, and the eaten remains of tangle. I'm making that plot point more fucked up.

everyone is of course freaked out, and insightful immediately takes it on herself to make sure nothing and light have some skill in fighting cuz Oh My God! they each play to their strengths, and it's like typical training montage. I like to think that with nothing's bad leg opponents would naturally try to take advantage of her balance, and which point she could rear up on her hind legs and then unexpectedly just crash down onto her opponent with her full weight. idk I've never seen a lion fight.

so yeah they eventually find fire and light and insightful are like. not trusting him at all, they suspect him. nothing isn't so hasty with the blame, cannibalism is a lot to accuse your brother of. fire says that if he takes over the nearest pride, he can change her name due to her time as a prideless lion.

as discussed, light objects. he thinks she should be able to choose her own name. pride or not. fire the devout follower of pride law didn't like that

they kill that old man, fire demands the pride, moonstrike (now striker) denies him and he's like. "You cant do that. That's illegal" and striker claims he couldn't have beaten her mate in fair combat after getting his ass kicked the first time. plus he's got some random child that isn't his

he takes that as "kill the kid" and yk. goes after light. nothing's reaction time is normal now though and barrels into him before he can rip lights throat out. he's still gravely wounded though, so much so that insightful is fully occupied trying to keep him alive.

nothing and fire square off, fire is ableist, nothing challenges him. You know. except this time she kills him. she gets him on his back and cuts him open, guts everywhere. no Ghost scene.

Injured and horrified, she lays down. she's like. going to have a breakdown. she just killed her brother, light may be dead, these strangers won't quit staring at her, its not good. episode end.

cut to like next morning and nothing's injuries are being taken care of at the same time as light's. insightful is in there with em talking with striker. noticing she's up, striker asks her name. I'm still not sure what I'd want her to change it to but she does change it. perhaps Enough?

idk idk either way, she doesn't get the pride. she beat fire but it wasn't his to give. however, striker offers them all a place there, including light. boom season 1 end
