...Um. Super, super late DP Invisobang 2023 art?

The fic by Rockity Sock is still an unpublished WIP so far, but it's really nice and will hopefully be completed and published later.

It begins at the end of the Ultimate Enemy episode, with Dan getting trapped in the thermos. And... I'm not sure how much I can say without spoiling it, but a lot of really cool stuff happens. It's a psychological type of fic, about different types of prisons and punishments, and has time stuff and pocket dimensions, and redemption stuff. (I was only planning on drawing one illustration for IB, but when I saw the WIP, I wanted to see so many things animated. So many awesome visuals. I wish I could've animated them all.)

This is the part I did animate:

He just walked for now, searching for the tiniest crack. The darkness went on for seemingly forever though, and no matter how far he walked it kept on going Dan kept moving He tried his best to break through the walls but every ectoblast he formed fizzled out. Fading into the darkness. Oh, now it makes sense. His powers are being limited, it takes him a few more tries to believe it. The fact that he’s trapped with nothing whatsoever. Endless hours spent, and wasted. Powers he has built up from the ground with no mentor, ones he trained endlessly after a decade. Gone, disappeared, muffled. Limited. Dan let out a laugh, one with no humor. A laugh that turned into a cackle, he couldn’t stop.

i always see posts and comments about how 'naturally gifted' academic children suffer from a lot of problems with "if it's not easy, then i won't try" as adults, and i raise you: 'naturally athletic' kids suffer from the same problem.

instrument gets hard? i stop practicing. scene in WIP gets hard? i stop writing. subject in school is difficult? im stupid and will fail this test anyway, why bother studying. i'll just spend all my free time at the gym or training instead because it's easier.

yeah uhhhh looking back—and esp now as an adult recovering from medical issues and realizing doing a single pushup is suddenly difficult as hell and now needing to follow progression videos for the first time in my life—i wasn't naturally gifted at shit, i just practiced. a lot. that was it that was the whole secret all along.

"this doesn't come easily to me, i give up" yeah no it's definitely not just the academically 'gifted kids' who have this issue. i'd wager that a wide variety of kids who were 'gifted' in one hobby or another also suffer from this as adults.

so i was definitely expecting too much from a tv show from the 90s (honestly, it'd be a lot to expect from a tv show today) but i will die mad about them doing zev dirty like that. of COURSE she had to be magically transformed into a conventional megahottie. but god, this fuckin sucks. the first actress was good! she had charisma! she grabbed my attention in a way none of the other characters did! i would (figurative language, hyperbole) kill to see her get to star as a kick-ass female sci-fi character! we could have had it all!!!!

but no. god fucking forbid we get a female protagonist who isn't skinny and smooth-skinned and button-nosed. we can't fucking have nice things.

This man is CONSTANTLY flirting with you on stage. We're talking ass pats, blowing kisses, quick pecks between lyrics, etc. He finds it funny whenever the crowd screams & cheers when you two flirt.

When you two first started dating, you both didn't want to tell anyone, so you couldn't be affectionate around each other. Or so you thought. He'd hold your hand under tables, make sure you two were sharing a hotel room &/or bed, kiss the back of your hand when nobody's looking, give you hugs, tickle you (we all know he would tickle you. he did it to Mark, why not you?), etc.

If you were a drum player, he'd randomly rest his chin on your head if you were sitting down to play

During studio time, he's hugging you from behind & being suuuuuper cuddly (while grossing out the other members in the process)

During concerts, he's randomly making suggestive, cheesy, or flirty jokes to you to make the crowd laugh.

He'd lay his head in your lap or vice versa, he'd hold your hand, he'd share an earbud with you, he'd let you watch him play The Sims on his laptop, he'd lean his head on your shoulder or vice versa, etc.

When the band goes out to eat or just goes out in general, he's paying for & doing EVERYTHING for you. You got something to eat? Don't even lay a finger on your wallet. You're in a store & you mention being hungry? He's grabbing every single snack & drink that you like. You shiver slightly? He's taking off his jumper or hoodie & giving it to you, no questions asked. You mention your legs hurting? You're being carried, either piggyback, on his shoulders, or bridal style.

"Hey Fezzy." I smile softly, taking a step into the corner store. Fez's face lights up at the sight of me walking through the small store, eyes skimming along the different bags of candies and chips.

"Hey angel, what's good?" He quizzes, hopping up onto the counter beside me, a small smile spreading across his lips as he takes a hit off his joint. Respectfully, he blows the smoke in the opposite direction of me before returning his curious gaze to me, eyes raking over my frame.

"Just needed a snack." I shrug, eyes bashfully lowering to the ground as he reaches out to shove me playfully.

"Loosen up, man. I don't bite." He flirts, long eyelashes batting at me as I bite at the inside of my cheek, trying so desperately to maintain eye contact with him and he doesn't falter, his blue eyes stuck on my nervous expression.

"I've heard you do worse than bite." The words escape me before I can contemplate using anything resembling a filter but before I can apologize, Fez laughs loudly, head bobbing in an agreeable nod.

"Damn ma." He scoffs, reaching out to take the snacks from my hands, scanning them with a shrug. "If I didn't know you, I'd think you were flirting." My jaw drops, guilt immediately filling me as I shake my head frantically.

"N-No, not flirting. Sorry." I apologize, my whole body turning twenty degrees warmer than just moments ago. I'd hate to make him uncomfortable, especially when I have nothing but good things to say about him and to him.

"Shit, I wasn't complaining. You'd know that if you stopped by more." This time it's him who's flirting, his tone making my brows raise eagerly as I reach out to collect my goodies and hand him my card which he declines.

"Is that an invitation?" I ask, trying against to pay him but he just laughs and takes my card from me before shoving it back into my pocket.

"If you want it to be."

Okay, I'm answering this as an excuse to talk about fun stuff, but like, you seem to go after people for drawing nsfw art of Tim?? Because he's like, canonically ace or whatever? So god knows why you're asking me about my favourite ships and shit, given what I write and post about. But I like yapping so I'm gonna yap anyway. But yeah, dude, ace people can fuck.

I am an ace person who fucks. And I have some crazy ass kinks.

Anyway, so, my favourite ship is weird, because I like to THINK that my favourite ship is Jam, but I'm just so very wrong about that and my actual favourite ship is Jaylex. It's my actual favourite ship purely because of sorry it's locked, honestly. I got to make them SO fucked up together, and that's just my favourite thing to write, incredibly fucked up characters being toxic and fucked up to each other, and to me Jaylex are so perfect for that. Neither of them are good people, neither of them are monsters, they both just incredibly fucked up people who don't know how to ask for help/think they can fix themselves without getting help or doing any of the work for it. And Jay being a character who I see as like, almost completely incapable of being vulnerable except through sex and kink is just so fun for me. I love exploring characters and their issues and stuff through smut fics, it's so fun to do "character studies through sex".

Thats how I see them anyway lol. Sorry it's locked has completely warped my sense of what's canon and what's not, like, I completely forget that sorry it's locked stuff isn't canon to MH sometimes 💀 (I'm trying SO hard not to go off on another rant about sorry it's locked and Jaylex. I love them so fucking much. They're so fucking toxic 🥰)

As for other slenderverse series I've watched, I watched and loved EMH, it's still one of my favourite series even though i only really write fics about it when they're vent fics (Vinny and Evan are just soooooooo easy to project onto, y'know?). I tried watching tribe twelve but just couldn't get into it (the observer/kevin is so cute tho) and my boyfriend and i recently watched most of Whispered Faith, but mostly just ended up sticking it out for Lexx, because she's fucking gorgeous.

Oh yeah I also watched mlanderson and I really liked that. AND [My movie 14] which was super cool and a newer one. These two are my favourites behind MH and EMH.

After a truly horrible year, and a fic that just didn’t want to be written, my @invisobang space horror fic The Void Yawns Softly is finally up!

My collaboration artists were @q-gorgeous and @lexosaurus. Gorgi’s art will be found at @k-beckerart, and Lexx’s music at @lexosaurus. Each will be posting their respective pieces as the matching chapters are posted at a rate of one chapter per day!

Fic summary: Despite saving the world, nobody knows that Danny Fenton is anything other than a perfectly normal astronaut candidate training for the first manned mission to Mars. He's generally happy to keep it this way, too, until he's disqualified from the team at the last minute. They jet into space without him, only to go dark on comms a month into their journey while he's left back on Earth, unable to save them from whatever went wrong. He has to rescue them. He's the only one who can... But when NASA sends him up there to achieve the impossible, Danny comes face to face with the very thing he fears the most: despite his love of the stars, space is cold and empty and ready to destroy him, and when his welcome aboard the stricken ship isn't what he'd expected, he's going to need everything he has at his disposal to bring them home again.

Reason: I made this AU for the Danny Phantom au zine, Reality Trip, and I have had so much fun playing with it. It started as a throwaway wondering "what if Vlad approached Tucker instead of Valerie?" and grew into something huge. I've always adored no one knows aus, and this one takes it a step further. I'll be posting the fic to Ao3 soon, and I've got big plans for the rest of this AU.

The Haunting of Danny Fenton

Description: Valerie knows Danny Fenton, everybody does. Youngest of the family, son and heir, future owner of Fenton Works. Notable for all those reasons and infamous for none of them. Where Maddie and Jack are the local quirks, Danny is the tragedy. And, for the next week, he's the Red Huntress' newest client.

Reason: I adore writing Valerie's point of view. She's my favourite character, so it's a bit criminal that I don't have more fics focused on her. I've also used some different narrative techniques in this fic playing with perspective, which has been a lot of fun.

The Punishment Fits the Crime

Description: Ghosts are naturally drawn to death. Danny, however, finds himself drawn to those who have wrongfully died. He always said he would never hurt someone who doesn't deserve it. It's not his fault that he keeps finding people who do. Or: Danny is a vengeful spirit.

Reason: My darkest fic, tonally. I got the idea to turn Danny into a vengeful spirit and immediately decided to push it as far as I could. There's only a couple of chapters up right now, but the tags tell you all you need to know about the direction this fic is going.

The In-Laws

Description: Harriet and her son, Kwan, meet each other's boyfriends through a family dinner. Hopefully, Vlad Masters and Danny Fenton can get along for one meal.

Reason: Because it's fun! This is a very light-hearted, humorous fic, and I had a great time with it. I like to write all kinds of pairings, and this was a great way to explore two I hadn't yet: Vlad and Harriet, and Danny and Kwan. Bad News shippers come get your juice.

Blossoms On Her Tongue

Description: Years after Undergrowth’s attack, Sam’s ghost powers from that day are slowly returning. Sam is excited at first, both at the chance to grow closer with Danny, and the opportunity to use her own powers for good. But things aren’t as great as they seem. After all, plants don't mix well with the cold.

Reason: I can't actually say because that would be a spoiler! But there's a specific dynamic I wanted to explore for the trio and this fic was what came out of it. I've got three parts planned for this series, each one focused on a different member of the trio.
