Final Fantasy VIII Original Soundtrack. (SSCX-10028, [1999] SQEX-10005~8 re-release [2004]). Composer, Arranger and Producer: Nobuo Uematsu. Publisher: Square Enix. Made in Japan.
4 CDs. 74 Tracks. White discs, and white CD trays. Booklet with lyrics from Liberi Fatali and Eyes on Me (Faye Wong). Includes an interview (Only Japanese) with Nobuo Uematsu.
Package quality could be better. The outer box is thin cardboard. Printing PPI could be better too. The booklet has a matte finish. Translucent CD trays and more images behind the first and last trays would have been a nice plus, instead of the white ones. For $40 U.S.D., including shipping from Japan, and import fees, I can’t complain that much, tho.
Overall, is a good box set, and a must have if you grew up loving the Final Fantasy games from the “Golden Age”, before the Squaresoft and Enix merge.
Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite from the series, and it’s for sure in my Top 5 video games of all times. Nobuo Uematsu’s music always added to the unique experience of these games, conveying the feelings of the characters and the athmosphere of the situation. Some tracks, along with the FMVs were back then an amazing reward for your progress in the game’s story. Now, if you´ll excuse me, I’ll be listening to some of those masterpieces. Nostalgia time.

there's a latin choir class practicing down the hallway and I swear to god every time their piano accompaniment comes in with the melody I think to myself "okay THIS time they're gonna be singing one winged angel"

RULES: Post 5 songs associated with your OC, followed by 4 outfits they would wear
I've already done this about my Tav (Nana), but I really want to do it again for her Guardian/Durge (Thomas)
This evil fucker is the antagonist from my fic I literally finished writing last night and honestly I love him so much. I'm so tempted so write his story as well.

Thomas is all about control. Your man wants to show he is in charge at all times so he's either in something intimidating on the battlefield (fighter), in the alleyways for a kill (rogue), or just when trying to manipulate in general. Did I mention he's an evil bastard?

Feel free to do this as well peeps. I really love seeing other people's OC characters and especially hearing how they feel about their characters too. We see so much love for the NPC's but need more for the PC's too!

What is your favorite finale fantasy ?
Uhh, gotta be Final Fantasy 8. I'm a bit stoned right now so my answer may not be as comprehensive, but FFVIII, definitely. It was my first Final Fantasy but I love everything about it; the melodrama, the romance, the intricate junction system, Triple Triad and the mechanics behind the cars, all the weird secret quests and locations... It's got everything. I remember watching the opening movie with Liberi Fatali playing and it placed so closely to my taste and preferences as an emo kid that I think my brain chemistry was permanently altered.

I know I've been posting a lot of OOC today especially -- tomorrow I'll get back to RPing! But for now, one last post.
:D They played Invicible and Dragonsong from XIV, Roses of May from IX, Zanarkand from X, and several others at the concert... including Liberi Fatali and Eyes On Me from VIII. TwT
My partner and I also attended the VIP meet and greet session with Arnie Roth and Susan Calloway. They were so incredibly nice! My partner bought me a copy of the FFVIII soundtrack from the merchandise tables, so I had them sign the booklet that was inside of it.

What are your favorite tracks from Hans Zimmer? I feel basic when I listen to all his classics from Instellar to Dark Knight to Pirates
Why would you feel basic? These are amazing soundtracks and are high on my list of favs too!
My absolute favorite is Time, from the movie Inception. I can listen to it again and again. The crescendo, the inescapability of time is just... goosebumps all over! The best edit about Lexa I've seen uses that song. It's on Youtube, called "Leksa kom Trikru" by foomatic21
youtube
Other than that one, the ones I listen to most often are, in no particular order: everything from The Lion King, Chevaliers De Sangreal (The Da Vinci Code, it reminds me of Time), The Battle (Gladiator), many songs from The Last Samurai, Run Free (Spirit), All Of Them! and Another Brick in Hadrian's Wall (King Arthur), and Brothers (Pearl Harbor)
But, mostly, I just play his Hans Zimmer Live playlist and let my mind run wild 😅
On a different note, I have two recommendations for mostly instrumental music if you want:
-Joe Hisashi: the man behind the Studio Ghibli soundtracks. Princess Mononoke is a big fav of mine
-Nobuo Uematsu, who worked a lot for, among others, the Final Fantasy series. If you were to only listen to two songs, I would recommend Liberi Fatali (from Final Fantasy 8) and To Zanarkand (from Final Fantasy X)
