My dad gave me a vintage pocket watch from 1994. I wanted to have a little artwork inside and of course there was only one logical choice.

Painted on black watercolour paper using a white pencil, a really dried up gel pen and gouache when I finally gave up on that gel pen.

(sorry)#meme redraw gone wrong (high effort). don't ask me how i did this- i don't know either. consider this perhaps an AU of the pyre scene?#or more accurately just my internal wonderings visualised. sometimes the vibes from the implications don't pan out the same way #i also lost the original sketch somewhere in my papers. alas. i vaguely recall thinking this would be haha funny and then somewhere down #the line it turned to angst. other quotes that inspired this from the show were 'ily. i'm sorry' and 'i will always be so proud of you'.#smth smth they met on the roof!! vincent stops quincy from jumping off and then. vincent tries to die + eventually quincy kills him on the #very same roof. anyway the quincent death scene was spinning around for a bit in my head and out of the miscellaneous sketches this won out #wanted to play w the strong blue lighting + bg + silhouette things that you get w stage lighting // replaced the knife w vincent's scalpel #quincy is kneeling bc poses + idk why it's fun staging for him ;-; // also the proximity + intimacy.. // the pyre is also in the bg #but it's silhouetted behind quincy. i think the last quincy post made me associate symbolism (help??) bc as i was painting i was thinking o #angel wings ksdjfh // not to mention the halos. halos are always fun to paint.. shiny stuff...#and from the last vincent art. i guess the star and eye imagery carried over. hm. tried to get the quincy halo to match so its like a #rounder less spiky star? which hehe aligns w the sun vibes (that i??can't explain??) but more importantly here i was thinking about #binary stars for the glowy parts. two in orbit in pull to one another.. tension.. ue. also the glow for vincent goes to stabby eye so like #behind the face shown to viewer. meanwhile for quincy it goes in front of the face #and of course u have the downward linking implied line from quincy's tears +scalpel + glowy eye.#this is supposed to be rotatable.. in landscape form u can have either quincy or vincent upright (pov) + it should work both ways #//bonus stuff is vincent holding the skask w bloody hands + shadow looks like blood spatters. like it would if quincy did the stabby.#hhhh this is the most. confused i have been making a piece lately.. just toss in a lot of fun visual stuff and mix..#if the rambling analysis here seems pointless and confused i think that's why. this is why u should plan out your essays o.O..#oh. stuff i just remembered: the whole impetus for vincent planning his own death was so quincy would be happy / it's already #mentioned before quincy kills vincent that he's severely injured- vincent says it's fine- ig u could intepret it as a finishing blow?#hastened over the phaethon announcement- when they make the second announcement quincy looks up smiling until the admin gives it to #beatrix-he didn't know.. // <- so for this it's possible to infer that vincent wasn't very attached to living anymore.. hence why they look #more accepting above. while quincy is looking very angsty and conflicted. yeah.. // tldr! don't look into it too deeply it's a meme redraw #adamandi #quincy cynthius martin #vincent aurelius lin #tw knife

The only way I would've accepted seeing pre-fall Crowley and Aziraphale together is if they were like in the Heaven cafeteria, Crowley complaining to a celestial dinnerlady that the lunch options all look bad ("the food hadn't been that good lately"), while Aziraphale walks by in the other direction, needlessly worrying about something. Neither notices the other. They were this close and yet!

Perhaps Aziraphale and another angel are even discussing some rumour about angels starting to ask questions of The Almighty and expresses concern.

Keep in the "how much trouble can I get into for asking a few questions?" or whatever from Crowley but have it be with the disgruntled dinnerlady or one of Lucifer's crew he was presumably hanging out with. Show one of these soon-to-be-cast-out angels casually mentioning to him that they're thinking of bringing up a few of their concerns to "the boss" and would he be interested? It's worth a shot after all. What harm could it to?

Just anything to make it less fucking needlessly dramatic and serious.

#good omens critical #keep it light and comedic!!!!#let crowley be a bit snakey and a bit of a rude shit #he fell in with the wrong crowd fucked around and found out #he doesn't HATE hate his job he just doesn't like acting with his hellish superiors and 2 particularly nasty coworkers #and canonically believes humans can be mucj worse than demons anyway due to our imaginative abilities #and if neil still needed crowley to seem more fundamentally Good as a character then have the other angel(s) manipulate him a little #“mate you're not like these other drones - you're a free thinker! you've got tons of great ideas!”#“you're popular with Them Upstairs - They respect your vision. come with us and we can actually make some inprovements around here”#could've even had pre-fall furfur or shax or those demons with the horn hair whose name I can never remember having around in the scene #establish that they'd Always Been There #and providing a little visual gag #I knew we had a problem as soon as crowley described himself as saunterinf vaguely downwards in s1 #because then it became subjective #rather than an objective description of the character given by the authors #it was now crowley's chosen narrative about his fall #and then we got him angsting in his apartment #and crying in the pub #and it was like 'oh for this crowley its just a story hes constructed about himself to put up a protective wall amount his Big Emotions'#and I did not care for it!!!!#etc

Just tried to read a post on my dash that I did not immediately realize was about Disco Elysium that kept mentioning some strange concepts called "Kim" and "Harry" I couldn't understand for some reason & the thing my brain did to try to comprehend the words it was reading and make sense of them for me, was to BEAM (literal) two separate images of Kim Il-Sung and Harry Styles into my vision, which did not help me understand the post at all.

#txt #I wish I had a pc to recreate in powerpoint bc words don't do justice to the way the images actually appeared #it was like the opposite of a fade-out where there was a bright flash of light #that trickled downwards to slowly reveal two side by side regular Wikipedia images of them on a plain white background #and I was just so baffled in response and went “????????????” even after the fucking. vision(?) cleared bc what?#so then I read the whole post with only that as my context until I got to the end & realized it was about a game I'm familiar with #I don't know why my brain does this. It like scrambles to quell confusion & reaches into some unknown cortex to give me the least helpful #things in as JARRING a way as possible ALL THE TIME completely unprompted #I always feel like my brain is just a completely separate animal from me & that animal is a very stupid goblin #just handing me random useless objects while I'm understandably like “how the hell does THIS help me.”#like if that little mickey mouse clubhouse creature was brain shaped & terrible at it's job

i should put together a thing/link some guides on taking proper reference pictures for commissions/in general having references

#i know someone who has a really good guide on taking solid reference pictures in ffxiv #but also in general when i mean solid clear references--esp for bust shots #it's right up in the characters face--front back sides three quarters view on both sides of the face #without extra stuff like accessories #with clear and neutral lighting #no upwards or downward angles just straight on in a neutral position #its a thing ive noticed w oc-tober but also in general #im not like. upset about it w oc-tober bc it's not paid for or anything #im stingy w comm refs just bc like. if you pay me and give me nothing to work with it's kinda ass #i can only work with so much in those cases #anyway ranting to the void don't get upset about this or anything #i am shrimply vibing

Working more on the local group of Synchronized Light and hoo boy. There's smth wrong with these guys.

#rat rambles #oc posting #rain posting #theyre mostly a different flavor of messed up than my other guys as theyre all like family drama messed up #these guys are not family except for the obvious two they're just all either the worst or going thru it #oh also the girlfired of my ancient girl is a part of the group and they have a name now theyre twisted orbit 👍#orbit has gotten the pleasure of not just having an upsetting backstory but also an upsetting present due to one of her neighbors #and funnily enough its not synchronized light she basically never interacts with those two #instead its the circles second most fucked up lil guy named putity preserved #he is an absolute ass and has been absolutely obsessed with the idea of being the one to find the tripple affirmative for ages #back when the ancients were around he managed to convince his city's council to allow him to experiment on prisioners and after the mass #ascension he has continued to experiment on the various lifeforms he can get his hands on #for most of the time before the mass ascension orbit wasnt particularly invested in solving the great problem so he didn't pay her much #mind but after a certain incident where she broke down and had her memoried shifted through and selectively romoved he started to pay more #attention to her even though for the first while up until the mass ascension she mostly just seemed hollow #eventually after the mass ascension they seemingly suddenly gained an immense interest in solving the great problem #and that was when purity reached out offering to work with them on the project #at first orbit was unwilling but after the sliver incident they seemed a lot more willing to hear him out #which was perfect news for him because the sliver invident made him Furious and he was desperate for a way to revise history #and thankfully orbit's motivation for solving the great problem was exactly what he had been hoping for.#then theres the other two members of the local group endless grains of sand and deep coated mist who are the old ladies of the group #and theyre like old old they were some of the first iterators constructed and it shows #mist especially as her structure is both much larger than a modern iterator and also way less efficient and with much higher steam output #the quirk of this local group is that they all sorta use the same water that's rotated through them all #sand being located by the ocean and mist being located far away on the peak of a huge mountain being the connecting points of the loop #sand fiters a bunch of the water and sends the excess upwards towards a variety of water resavoirs and also mist #mist then slurps up a shit ton of it and outputs a shit ton of steam which condenses to water and flows downwards through the mountainous #area she's perched atop from #this water then forms a series of rivers and lakes downwards through the other 3 and since they require way less water than her theyre able #to all safely recycle mist's outputted water
