So I may or may not have inserted nightcrawler into my D&D came because I couldn' help myself. But because I am not shameless unfortunately, I decided I couldn't just slap nightcrawler in there no. I had to make a whole species loosely based on him.

Anyways this is a Twilight Porter. They are a species of demonic folk who work with the deity of death to make sure living souls aren't brought back to the realm of the Dead, in the game they worked on the stix Railway line, a ghost train line. Unlike most demonic entities they are lawful good, as they specialize in providing great customer service to travelers, having patience with even the most irate spirit, and sometimes an uncomfortably jovial attitude about dark topics, namely death, as they often find themselves being the one having to comfort someone/ be a lightningrod when they figure out they are in fact dead and are going to the afterlife.

This one is named Chardamon Helsing. Anyways if anyone wants stats for these little guys let me know.

Writing Game 1.9: Enthralled

Prompt: Enthralled Pairing: Joel Miller/Jason Grace

Joel sits back, glaring at the younger man. The campfire they lit crackles, the stone semicircle they stacked around it keeping it from smoking.

"Are we gonna talk about it?" The last thing Joel wants is to talk, but he needs answers.

"No." The man growls.

Joel lets out a sigh of irritation. "You brought down a goddamn bolt of lightning like you're goddamn Jesus and we're not gonna talk about it?"

"That's about the size of it."

"Boy..."

"I'm thirty-six, don't call me 'boy.'"

"Then tell me what the hell is going on, damn you!" Joel's nostrils flared, his eyes wide. "If you're some kind of lightningrod, I can't bring you back to Jackson."

Jason laughs without mirth. "I can control it. It's... inherited. From my father. My sister could do it too."

"Lightning... powers?"

"Yeah." Jason runs a hand through his shaggy hair. "I didn't mean to use it, but... the clickers would have killed you. I was out of bullets."

"Thanks."

"Yeah. You fished me out of that river. Saved me. So... you're all I've got. You and Ellie."

"Anybody else... like you?

Jason looks up into the thickly clouded sky. "There used to be. Before. Hopefully they're hidden away, in fortresses and strongholds. But I'm not."

Joel hands him his glasses. "You've been through hell before. Haven't you?" It's not a question.

"Yeah. A lot of hells. Way, way Before. My dad needed a lot of... help."

The clouds suddenly flash and release a peal of thunder. Jason hardly reacts. They fall silent for a moment until the rain begins. Jason blinks as he stares straight up, enthralled by the droplets on his skin. He starts to cry, startling Joel a little.

"I'm alone, Joel. I've lost everyone, and it wasn't even to anything I thought I'd die to - it was to some fucking plague!"

Joel growls, trying to ignore the downpour. "You have us. You saved my life with that... lightning bolt. You've saved my girl's life plenty of times. I'm not gonna forget that."

Jason looks at him. There was something vulnerable in his gaze, and Joel gives a deep growl. He had always valued action over words. So he reaches out and draws Jason into a fierce hug. "Don't make me regret this, boy."

He holds him tight as the rain soaks them through to the skin, and just maybe washes away some of the pain of the last twenty years.

"I ain't leavin. Me and my girl, we're your family now. Okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah..." Jason trembles, finally melting into the embrace.

"Let's get back to Jackson, okay? Can you move?"

They make their way away through the rain, finally realizing that they were heading home...

Pokemon Horizons Episode 86 Review - Heroes Vs Villains

While this is a battle-heavy episode, I still enjoyed it because Spinel got so much screen time and you know he’s my favorite character. Other than that, I do think that Horizons’ strongest suit is their battles because they always improve after the previous ones. I know I keep saying it, but this battle is the best one by far because the heroes are at their strongest for now.

I think this is the first time four different battles was squeezed in one episode, yet it didn’t feel too rushed, but I do wish Dot had more screen time. Basically, it’s Friede vs Spinel, Liko vs Sidian, Roy vs Coral and Dot vs Chalce. Liko and Roy already battled their opponents back in Episode 43 and 66, so they're basically like rivals. It was great to see Liko strategizing and even beating Sidian without the need for Terastal. Coral decided to use Scream Tail instead of her signature Glalie, but still lost. I’ve read comments saying that Roy’s win against Coral was ridiculous, but remember that Scream Tail is a Fairy/Psychic type and it has a Fairy-type Terastal, meaning that being a pure Fairy-type makes its Fairy-type moves not that effective against a Fire-type like Crocalor. I hope people can do their Pokemon math before jumping into conclusions. Dot had a bit of a rivalry of her own with Chalce before then too, but this is their official first battle together. Chalce is pretty tough that even Dot had a hard time against her—none of them even terastalized. Their fight is mainly them showing off their intellect with Dot eventually outsmarting her.

The best fight in the episode is definitely Friede vs Spinel as it’s a double battle with Spinel using his Beheeyem and Umbreon against Friede’s Charizard and Pikachu. I think this is the best battle because it’s filled with creativity and strategy! Spinel was definitely a smart battler as he uses a lot of tricky moves like Skill Swap to swap abilities with Cap who has Lightningrod, which is a Hidden Ability for the Pikachu line and trying to attack Charizard now that Beheeyem’s Thunderbolt has been powered up. Fortunately, Friede is no pushover when it comes to battles and uses Charizard’s Dark Tera to counter Beheyeem’s advantages. I also like how Umbreon still stood despite taking major damage, as Umbreons are known for being tanky. I hope that the kids will have double battles soon as this one was spectacular.

Other than the battles, there are story-elements present. The reason why the Explorers never really pursued Liko and the Rising Volt Tacklers was because their goal was to get Terapagos to remove the barrier leading to the Laqurium, which is why they let the heroes do their dirty work. Also, Gibeon has entered the barrier with Zygarde 10% trailing behind. I honestly can’t wait to see what his motivations for obtaining the shards are.

I can’t wait for the next episode to air. The preview looks enticing and I can’t wait to see how the conflict will unfold and if Spinel really will betray Gibeon and for what purpose. Let me know your own thoughts on this episode!
