I personally think that Leo took the wrong lessons from the movie. I definitely think he grew to understand the importance of teamwork and making sure he takes others into account so as to not harm them by proxy of whatever scheme he has cooked up, however based on the ending events I’m not quite certain he fully grasped two things.

The first thing is communication. Oh, he can communicate, and he does, when he deems it necessary. When he’s setting up a plan prior to the action. But this is where the second thing comes in.

The second thing I don’t think Leo truly grasped is “it’s not about you.” It’s so unbearably easy to take that the wrong way, especially when taking the rest of the series into account.

What I believe Leo took from this message is not “it’s not just you, everyone matters and can contribute, can help and be helped” but “put the whole of everyone above yourself” which can both be a good lesson…and a fatal one.

And it is fatal, we see as much in the movie.

Even after the big hope speech, when Leo is “fighting” Krang!Raph, he takes a huge risk. Sure, it worked, and Leo managed to get through to Raph through a well deserved apology, but it could have so easily ended in his death and yet he barely even hesitates to go for it.

And then again, to the big scene at the end, where Leo sacrifices himself not only for the sake of his family, but for the whole world.

To him, that’s the message to take from this. That the lives of everyone, of the greater good, matters…more than him. That the risk to himself is worth it if others can be saved.

Leo learned that gambling with his life as the betting chip is always the best move to make in the end.

And to make matters worse…this thinking is what works.

These risks are ultimately what is needed to save the day, so why would Leo look away from it now? Clearly it’s the right move and everything worked out!

Thing is, Leo did grow from the events of the movie. He learned to take things more seriously and be more mature, he learned to value his team’s input and capabilities enough to rely on them more, and he learned to be less self-centered and realize the turmoil others were going through (especially if that turmoil is a result of his actions.)

But still, he’s grown to accept the gamble of his life as a viable answer to their problems.

Personally, with how Leo has been shown to toy around with the idea of “it’s better me than them” I think this goes beyond sacrifice in the name of love or even sacrifice in the name of responsibility, and pushes over into sacrifice in the name of worth.

hahaha i'll just go down the list of what u mentioned here so i can maintain some self control LMFAO, but BEFORE i begin:

would like to mention that leosagi r BEST FRIENDS before they ever start a relationship in my au (which takes place a good couple yrs down the road, like late teens/early twenties. maybe even longer. i'm still debating lol) i really value platonic relationships and i guess i'm projecting but i really wanted to explore this aspect on these two cause i feel like it really fits !!!

leo was recently instated as the new leader and he's struggling under the pressure and expectations, he's having a hard time at home with the weird vibes between him and raph and splinter, he and raph r arguing a lot more, he never wants to be at home, they're all still recovering a little bit from the shredder incident and trying to make their new lair feel like how everything used to be, leo just wants things to go back to normal, etc etc. guy is not having a good time.

usagi is also struggling between three jobs and having no one to rely on. he is COMPLETELY ALONE, and has been for a while now, and at this point he's just accepted it and rolls with the punches. he is visibly a miserable guy. he doesn't have family or friends to turn to considering he's basically disgraced from his clan (not that he really wanted to stay anyway, more will be explained later HAHAHA), he's not doing well mentally either, and he's trying to stay afloat in a foreign city that he's still learning to actually live in. he's not good at relying on other people and always expects strings to be attached when it comes to people trying to look out for him, etc etc. both he and leo r not doing well.

while i admit the love at first sight is cute, that's not the road i wanted to take with them. what they both really need more than a relationship is a friend, and i think they would both find that friend in each other. i think they would be absolute menaces at their worst but also be capable of bringing out the best in each other. they r the besties ever !!!!

WHAT DO THEY LIKE MOST ABOUT EACH OTHER?

USAGI:

- leo recognizes that usagi isn't one to beat around the bush, especially when it comes to telling him how he feels. he's blunt, but not generally in a mean way (usually lmfao). he tells leo what he needs to hear, even if leo in particular doesn't WANT to hear it. usagi doesn't lie to him, or ever make promises he can't keep, but he also doesn't BREAK promises that he makes. leo really appreciates that about him.

- usagi hasn't known leo his whole life, and so he doesn't have the same issue as his brothers with giving leo casual praise. yes, usagi is very much going to be the first person to call leo a gigantic dumbass, but he's also going to recognize leo is talented and calculated and very capable of being cunning when he isn't being a fool LMFAO. i think having someone that has faith in his abilities most of the time would really help settle some of leo's inferiority/superiority complex issues, especially from someone that is essentially a clean slate and doesn't have huge expectations of what they already know about leo. i think this would start leo's journey into being more self-assured, since usagi has been there to tell him what he needs to hear from the very start of their friendship. leo can always count on usagi to have his back when he's feeling down about himself :)

- usagi is actually very hilarious. leo didn't see it much when they were first getting to know each other but usagi makes the MOST out of pocket comments and jokes all the time with a completely straight face and it cracks leo up. usagi starts being a lot more silly with leo once they've been around each other more and his humor starts showing through. also usagi is like the only person in the world that will laugh at leo's awful puns. usagi recognizes they're awful and he KNOWS they r so so awful but he can't help but laugh bc leo's delivery is so good. the first time leo makes usagi laugh he goes out of his way to make him do it again bc usagi has a really contagious laugh and he wants to hear it more !!! usagi deserves to laugh. they actually bond a lot over their inside jokes and humor lol

LEO:

- no one has ever tried to be so persistent in being usagi's friend. like, an actual friend who genuinely cares about him and just wants him to be less miserable and goes out of their way to spend time with him bc they think he's COOL and someone fun to be around. usagi didn't appreciate it at first (he thought leo was trying to make fun of him/just trying to be a nuisance) but then he realizes that leo is just like. a good person. under all the bravado and jokes and bad puns he's someone that cares and doesn't expect anything from it and usagi wants to meet leo halfway and show that he cares too. leo is essentially his first friend and first BEST FRIEND and he has no way to articulate how much he appreciates leo and the olive branch he gave him so he tries to show it as often as he can instead.

- leo also goes out of his way to spend time with usagi, whether that be between his shifts at work or literally sitting in the place of business until usagi gets off. it starts off as leo just not wanting to be home but then it's genuinely just him trying to spend as much time with usagi as possible before he has to work again (which is basically all the time.) they never run out of things to talk about, and when usagi is too drained to actually hold a conversation leo can fill the silence for literal HOURS and usagi never gets tired of it bc he likes to listen to leo talk, and leo doesn't feel like he's annoying or anything. they can also exist in silence with each other and just enjoy the other's presence. it's never awkward and it's just really natural for them both!

- usagi hasnt really had someone like . worry about his well-being in a long time and so leo constantly being up in his business asking him if he's gotten enough sleep/if he's feeling okay takes a lot to get used to. it grated his nerves at first but then leo explained that usagi always seems so sad and downright depressed and he always asks if there's something that he can do to make him feel a little better. leo doesn't really motherhen him which usagi appreciates also; he acknowledges that usagi isn't feeling great and will try to do something to make him feel better but he backs off bc he knows how annoying it is when people won't listen to how much u DONT want to talk about it (looking at u very lovingly rn raph ❤️ ur trying ur best). usagi also does the same for leo, they only push each other to talk when they REALLY think the other needs an intervention haha.

OTHERS:

- they do the thing where if they get food, often times the other likes whatever part they don't. usagi doesn't like salami and whatnot on his pizza so he'll pick it off and let leo eat it; leo doesn't like the crunchy parts on crab ragoon so he'll eat the middle then let usagi eat whatever's left etc lol.

- they'll do the thing where it's like "this made me think of u" and they get it for the other, like knick knacks and little food types of stuff. they make it a competition to who can get the coolest knick knack for the other LOL

- they r both really really impressed with how talented the other is. usagi is traditionally trained and it SHOWS, he often times wins their spars and he's very very skilled and leo thinks he's so fucking cool bc he's so nonchalant about it. like usagi just did the sickest move and he's like "damn. that was crazy." and leo is like 🤯🤯🤯🤯 leo is cunning and strategic and usagi is pretty impressed (and it's hard to impress this guy !!!!) with how inventive he is on his feet, and how fast he can assess a situation just by vibes alone. leo also thinks outside the box a lot and his style of fighting is really cool to usagi; they both just think the other is the coolest HAHA.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

i already mentioned that leo goes out of his way to spend time with usagi whenever he's free, and even when he's not leo is usually right at his hip lmfao. they both go to different areas of the hidden city and hang out mostly, they do the "bro showed me a spot" and try to see who can find the coolest spot to hang out in HAHAHA. they spar and talk and joke around and share food. normal friend stuff.

sometimes usagi takes a nap bc he's so exhausted tho and leo just hangs around on his phone with him. whenever usagi is free is when they actually get to do the fun stuff; they get into deep shit sometimes in the hidden city and that's usually a fuckin time lmfao.

usagi luvsss music tho but he doesn't really have time to search for stuff on his own, so leo always shows up with music recommendations whenever they have time and exchange different songs back and forth. would like to mention usagi LOVESSS BABYMETAL and gets leo into them as a result hahaha. BABYMETAL NEVER MISSES ‼️‼️‼️‼️ banger after banger only 🔊🔊🔊

usagi also tries to teach leo more japanese and how to write kanji. he thinks it's fucking hilarious that leo doesn't know it. he's always like "u know ninjitsu, ur trained in sword fighting, and u have a literal world class japanese warrior as ur father, but u don't know japanese ??? 🤨 L." HAHAHA but they're getting there !! leo's japanese has improved a lot since he started hanging with usagi !!!

WHAT DO THE OTHERS THINK?

so leo actually gatekeeps his and usagi's friendship for almost a good yr before he ever lets usagi meet his brothers. he wanted this one thing to himself and it was kinda like an escape from all the bad vibes at home. also he was scared that usagi would think his brothers r cooler than him lmfaooo. don't worry usagi sets him straight about that tho !!!

also usagi knows a lot about leo's bros just from how much he talks/rants about them, and he tries to pay attention bc he knows leo's bros mean everything to him !!!!

raphael: he and raph actually get along pretty great !!! maybe even the most. raph does mother hen him once they get comfortable with each other but usagi knows it comes from a place of care, which he really really appreciates bc he isn't close with his family the way the guys r. they both give each other advice and have really good conversations with each other. they've both stayed awake for hours just talking about different stuff and the bros and everything. i hc raph is actually going thru a pretty bad depressive episode around this point in time too and usagi gives him some pretty sound advice about how he's feeling and how to not let it completely take over. he tells raph to also rely on the others; he knows what it's like to have ur emotions feel like a burden but he tells him there is no way the others would ever want him to feel the way he does. they care so much about him !!! usagi thinks raph is surprisingly easy to talk to also :)

donnie: at first they got on each other's nerves. i think they're both pretty similar even if donnie is slightly more eccentric, plus i imagine that like most people donnie doesn't like change, and leo HAS been changing a lot outside of his periphery ever since he started hanging with usagi more! donnie is like that's the guy that's been making my brother not come home until like eight in the morning and makes him never want to be here. so there was kinda a grudge on his part bc he does miss leo :( however i think they bond when they find themselves roasting leo together or something i just think that would be absolutely hilarious HAHAHA. they end up being really good friends also !!!! i imagine they appreciate how low energy the other can be sometimes, and usagi is genuinely impressed at how smart donnie is.

mikey: PLSSSS DONT HATE ME but i hc they get along the least. NOT BC THEY DONT LIKE EACH OTHER ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ but mikey is even more high energy than leo and sometimes usagi literally cant take it haha, but that's only when his social quota is really low already. otherwise he and mikey get along pretty great !!! mikey was one of the first ones to really initiate him into the family and let him know he's welcome any time and like obviously it's mikey so usagi has a soft spot for him. however he doesn't really like the doctor feelings schtick he pulls sometimes (among mikey's other PHDs lmfao) and he very much tries to escape those sessions when mikey busts them out HAHAHA.

i imagine usagi slotting into the family pretty easily actually, he's just another kid that splinter doesn't realize he's collecting lmfao.

i imagine him feeling sort of on the fringes at first tho, bc he hasn't known them his whole like like say april, hasn't been thru life changing battles with them like casey or cassandra. he's not even just that odd relative like draxum lol. he's just leo's friend and he doesn't want to encroach on their little unit they have going on or be a burden or anything so it takes a little while for him to open up to them and let them get to know him. they grow closer tho the more leo starts bringing him around and actually interacting :) usagi is very fond of all of them !!

I really love writing the little family Donjie has built. He is such a good dad to his kids and would do any and everything to keep his kids safe and ho back home to them. He tries everything to give them the best life he can despite the apocalypse.

I really love Leo and his leadership too. He tries to be the most strategic leader. He looks out for his family and his rebellion but even he doesn't know everything and needs to rely on Raph for help. Sure this is a massive hit to Leo's ego but he's not above it when it helps people survive.

This is gonna sound so weird but I love writing the kraang too. They're very intelligent, blood thirty monsters with more sadism in their nasty bodies than what's good for earth. The rage they exhibit when things dont go their way and the pure level of destruction they're capable of. The kraang are a force of nature, a near impenetrable wall with intelligent and complex language. They toy with some humans they seem weak, relishing the fact that they're strong and can do whatever they feel like

Fuegoleon Vermillion

Who's surprised that this man ranks #1? I'm not since I'm a biased simp. Its really funny though that the first time I watched Black Clover, I didn't have a thought about Fuegoleon to me he was just there. That is until me and my friend started to pick characters we would date if real and I choose him. Like 'yeah he seems like a nice guy' but as I got to know more about him from the franchise I started falling for his character more and ultimately he holds the position as my favorite character in this anime. Fuegoleon Vermillion is the whole package: confident yet can be vulnerable, a strong heart, attractive, socially awkward, family man, caring, and just absolutely wonderful.

Mereleona Vermillion

She was intense from Day 1 to me and she still is...and I love it. There's something truly therapeutic about watching her beat the shit out of everyone and everything. Every time she has a fight scene I stop what I'm doing to watch. She's strong and she knows it. Sometimes I forget myself the she keeps her more softer side under wraps and only lets a few people see it. I wish we could've gotten something like her training with Acier or straight up only kidnapping Noelle to train her. Also I love that no nonsense way she talks to people, its great.

Leopold Vermillion

Leo's journey is something I've enjoyed from the sidelines. Most of the time he's introduced as a sibling of the Fire Vermillions but that's not all to his identity. He's a strong and capable Magic Knight who gives it his all in battle and always looking for a way to get better. Seeing the fruits of his labor during the Heart invasion was incredible because...holy shit. Also, I don't see many people making the connection that Leo was the first Clover citizen to unknowingly tap into Mana Method back in the Volcano dungeon. He fucking did it!

Gordon Agrippa

Literally my first thought seeing him was....panda. I guess he still kinda is. I always feel bad when the Bulls accidently forget him at base or don't even know he's gone. He just want's some friends to talk too. Honey, I will sit with you and you can teach me how to make dolls and as a fellow person who burns in the sun after 5 seconds, I'll sit with you in beach episodes. He's my buddy.

Charmy Pappitson

While she is mainly provided as a comic relief character, there's no denying that Charmy is her own strength and source of positivity that I highly admire. As someone, who is trying to fix their relationship with food, Charmy is a bit of a comfort character in that she eats whatever she likes from all food groups to channel her energy into power for herself. Even when people in show make a comment about her weight, she's quick to clap back with a comment like 'admiring my beautiful curves?' or 'now there's more of me to love!'. I can't wait to see more Charmy content.

Mimosa Vermillion

In the Royal Knight's Exam, I quite enjoyed learning more about her through the character interactions with her brother (fuck you Kirsh). It was also nice to see her beginning to see her developing more offensive spells to use in battle as to not rely on her team mates for protection. She took charge of her team when they were off topic and carried her weight all the way to the Spade Arc. And she won't take crap from her brother either, she manages to throw his own critiques back at him! You go girl!

Henry Legolant

He's so cute! He's a walking bird cage lol! Also I loved the Lego reference in his name. Another boy I would like to befriend. Henry is a kind soul who will quite literally use the power of friendship to beat his enemies.

Magna Swing

Ngl Magna first drew me in by his design alone. And boy was I not disappointed. If you're currently caught up in the manga then you know what I mean. His rivalry with Luck is also something entertaining to watch in itself and when push comes to shove he's definitely the man for any job. Plus he's always looking to get stronger for himself.

Asta

Asta comes in with the gall, audacity, and determination that I am here for! While most people would be in a situation and just let things happen, Asta really does enter the room and essentially go 'why are are you so bitter? why are you such a stupid and mean person? why are you being unreasonable?' The directness is something I love and then when he shatters people's way of thinking of the world...a masterpiece.

Charlotte Roselei

I honestly haven't thought that hard about why I like Charlotte. I think it's the persona she puts up. Being seen as this independent woman leader when she really is an awkward woman who doesn't know how to ask for a date is kinda nice. Regardless I also like to see the progress of how Charlotte uses her Blue Rose magic. Especially if you consider it to be a more weakened version of her original Red Rose magic. Imagine the kind of power she can unleash without the curse.

Loved your post about Leo! Yeah, it's a bummer the show got cut in half, because I really think they were gearing to delve into Leo's whole deal in season 2, and the arc was gonna be SO cool Many Unhappy Returns is such an interesting ep to me, because it's such an interesting insight into how Leo views trust. Like, throughout the whole ep, he keeps asking people to trust him ("we got this, trust me." "trust me, you guys got this" "trust me, pops, I've got this") and it seems like he's being so careless throughout the whole ep, before you get to the end and realizing he's been playing his cards so carefully the whole time. When he returns to the group he's able to predict EXACTLY how they were dealing with Shredder when he was gone--when he said "trust me, you guys got this" he genuinely MEANT it, and wasn't just saying that carelessly (even if his trust in the team does sometimes border on carelessness).

Leo trusts his family so wholeheartedly, and knows them so well, that I think it doesn't occur to him that like... not everyone is the same way? So he's hurt when his family doesn't just trust him, because that's how he trusts them. But like the team doesn't KNOW Leo is taking thing seriously, because he acts like a goof. He's just so interesting and complex, I adore him.

That being said, I think Many Unhappy Returns was when Splinter realizes Leo would be a good leader, but that he just needed more responsibility to ground him (after all, if he's in charge of the team, he can't just run off without talking to people... haha.......). And I love Raph with my whole heart (he and Leo share my spot for fave) but I genuinely think that by the end of the series, he had pretty much given up his position as leader. He wasn't really leading them by the finale, he was protecting them. When it came time to make a plan, he couldn't come up with one until Leo mentioned that they should work on their ninpo.

I always saw that scene of him throwing himself off the tree as him finally letting go of that responsibility and letting his brothers take that burden off his shoulders, which is why Leo transitioning to leader after that moment made sense. I don't really think it was unfair to Raph--there was a cut scene in the movie where he admitted he was only leader because no one else was stepping up. By the end, he clearly wasn't having a good time

Yeah, I think Leo needed to be the leader eventually. But Splinter doing it THEN and LIKE THAT was so strange.

Leo and trust is interesting! But he also says "trust me" in Minotaur Maze where they really really shouldn't and he has no idea what he's doing. So you can see why they don't take his word on this!

But, yeah, Leo has so much faith in them, always. Even his issues with proving himself are often because he thinks his brothers are so cool and capable. He can be kind of blithely irresponsible sometimes because Raph's always protected him from consequences and Donnie's always fixed the things he breaks, but it also means he knows exactly what they can do and how much he can rely on them. So when he does step up he can make decisions Raph wouldn't because Raph's afraid to split them up and not personally be there for all of them.

That deleted scene confused me a bit. On the one hand, it would have been interesting to have out loud acknowledgement of the leadership position in the movie instead of it all being subtext. On the other hand I watched Raph go "I never wanted to be the leader" and went "like hell you didn't! I watched Newsworthy. I saw you making a fuss about being the leader."

By the end of season 2 it's definitely getting too much for him, though. Taking the position away from him so abruptly after a major victory just feels like a rebuke where praise was warranted.

- So be prepared for some crazy mishaps and shenanigans, and maybe potential (minor) injuries

- Also, you wouldn't think it, but he can get spooked so easily when you use your powers in the normal day to day

- Raph and Mikey usually only use their powers during battle, and sure, Leo is annoying with his random portals

- But you're usually polite enough not to intentionally be bothering him, so it catches him way off guard when you do something with your powers

- Of course, he's going to play it like nothing happened, so it's best not to bring it up

- You are more careful to give him a heads up in the future once you realize what's happening

Mikey:

- He LOVES when you tell him stories about foes you've faced, other beings you've befriended, or just how you came to be

- He'll even ask you to recount the times you've fought with him and his family even though he was there, just because you're so good at telling them

- Even more than your stories, he just thinks you're the bomb. You're his hero

- Made you promise that when the time comes you're going to let them help you face Shredder and not try to do it alone

- And you always keep your promises

- If you don't already have a signature "hero outfit", leave it to Mikey (but beware, he will go all out of course.)

- Will brag to anyone and everyone about how you can kick their butts

- Really, he's your main hype man, and you would defeat Shredder for Mikey alone

Let’s talk : Encanto (and astrology!)

I wanna see more from each character individually and their struggles with their powers- like :

• Camilo having an identity crisis over the fact that people value him more for who he transforms into rather than valuing him above all else

• What’s behind Luisa’s door?? Camilo’s??? Pepa’s??? Does it reflect their power directly or does it provide them a safe haven for them to feel like themselves in?

• Pepa’s struggle with keeping her emotions in check. Why wasn’t she chastised the way Bruno was? Her gift controls her more than she controls it and most of the time (during the movie especially), it’s counterproductive to the society they live in.

• Dolores upon receiving her gift- it must’ve been overwhelming for her to receive all of her power at once. Did the room just provide her with soundproofness just so she can hear peace and quiet for one fricking moment

• Do people in the village take bets on the type of gift a child gets

• Dolores knew that Bruno was living in the walls since like, age 7. She must’ve had this understanding with him to not tell the family until they either figured it out on their own or wanted to see him again desperately. Was she just shocked at Mirabel saying that she has a prophecy of Bruno just because it’s finally happening? At least 10 years later?

• Can we get a first person POV of Antonio’s world with the animals telling him the effects of colonialism and deforestation on a larger scale

• Do you think Abuela has this rule on her kids that when they find a partner, they have to bear offspring? Is this why they also chastised Bruno more than Pepa? Because he wanted a different life for himself?

Finally, my take on the characters for each zodiac sign :

Aries : Camilo. Pure middle child with comedic relief to be accepted in the family energy. Only an Aries is capable to have approx 2 mins of screen time and steal the whole mf show. Also carries the familial burdens without sharing much of his own, but remains loyal in the comfort of the family. A bit stubborn and pessimistic though, especially with the “what is this? Not a house” that Aries also portray.

Taurus : Mirabel. A great listener, emotionally sturdy (doesn’t let her emotions rule her the way others do), (SPOILERS) and, in my opinion, the best option for becoming the matriarch of the house. Ready to let bygones be bygones (as long as the other party apologizes then yeah everything’s fine lmao).

Gemini : Dolores. Isn’t necessarily agreeable to everything the family does, and we see that when it comes to. Just like geminis, Dolores picks her loyalties with great care. Imo, due to their natural dual faceted social personalities, Dolores can still function in the family and know all the gossip (literally) while only choosing to spill things that feels are necessary for the progress of the family.

Cancer : Luisa. Cardinal water sign. Luisa, although having a tough outer shell (literally), she’s still in touch with her emotions. In my experience, cancers always pretend like they’re fine to everyone, but have that sense of vulnerability. Cancers have that motherly nature, and, like we see in Surface Pressure when she weighs everything to the weight of Mirabel and the family burden, it shows that she cares very deeply for everyone in the household, even when it’s not reciprocated.

Leo : Augustin. You might think that you have the most boring character but uhm- NO. The way I see it, Augustin is socially perfect in a sense. Although he is clumsy (fire signs I’m looking at you), he knows he can rely on his wife to be there at the end of the day. He has that air of importance, but not to the point where it gets suffocating for his kids. Very loyal and supportive to his family, he wears a token to symbolize each of his kids. Leos are always first to treat others like the best thing that’s happened to em, and Augustin is the best example of that.

Virgo : Alma Madrigal (Abuela). Alma possesses the caring and social (see: giving back to the community) qualities of a mutable sign, while having the rigidity that earth signs provide. She is very nitpicky about her family portraying perfection for the sake of society, and makes that very clear when she ostracizes some kids for not wielding their power well enough, or not having one at all. But overall possesses the organizational skills to be the first matriarch of the family Madrigal, and that gets reflected in her Virgo nature.

Libra : Isabella. Listen ik you would’ve put her as a leo, it’s just that Libras act perfect for other reasons than self interest and she’s still social and open to growth either way. I feel like leos act perfect and treat other people like they’re perfect in self-interest. Which is not a bad thing. But purr. Everyone sees Libras as these perfect social creatures at the center of beauty, which is due to their ruler planet being Venus. Is there a more “venus” person in the movie than Isabella?

Scorpio : Is there a more acceptable answer than Bruno for this (i don’t think so). Look, he was just trying to do his thing and everyone comes and ruins his mojo without trying to get his side of the story. Scorpios are contrarians in nature, and although the gift he has is useful to the family, he is ostracized nonetheless (can we talk about the plate he drew for himself like he just wants to be a part of the family ffs)

Sagittarius : Félix Madrigal (Mirabel’s uncle). I feel like Félix has all the traits of being a mutable fire sign : Life of the party, great sense of humour, can put up with a lot of Pepa’s emotional baggage, and is very loyal to Pepa, even when Abuela constantly reminds her to keep her emotions in check.

Capricorn : Pepa. Listen. Everyone says that fire signs have the biggest mood swings, but Capricorns have it so that the entire society feels it 😭 absolutely no hate to capricorns whatsoever, because a lot of people rely on your skills in order to grow, cultivate and keep the society going. And I feel like the Capricorn-Sagittarius dynamic is perfect for Pepa and Félix

Aquarius : Antonio. I feel like it’s obvious, but having the gift to communicate with animals is a quirk that can only be attributed to aquarians. They don’t try to act perfect (we see this with his emotional vulnerability to Mirabel), and he communicates everything in a pragmatic manner without outright offending anyone.

Pisces : Julieta Madrigal (Mirabel’s mother). It might seem very typical for pisces to be attributed Julieta, but listen. She’s a healer. She doesn’t judge Mirabel for not having a gift (and is ready to back her up against her own mother, but misses the social cue when it comes to telling abuela to mind her business in the staircase). Like, no matter what her kids do, she’ll feel like they’re perfect in every sense and nothing can change that. She doesn’t expect perfection out of Mirabel, and I’m sure she actually reminds Luisa and Isabella to take a break when they need to.

damn you really wanna challenge me, huh? /lh. Well I am curious to see how this will end up! I am prefacing thing by saying that I know practically nothing about zodiacs or what they mean, so all of my information is coming from the internet and if I get things wrong this is why!! That being said, I present the kotlcrew's zodiacs!

Sophie: Libra; with such a strong, unique sense of right and wrong this feels like an accurate assessment. She's very concerned with people being treated fairly and points out injustices frequently that others overlooked. She's got a tendency for self-sacrificial actions, and she needs time to reflect.

Fitz: Taurus; he's an incredibly reliable person and his friends can always depend on him in times of need. He's got a stubbornness and resistance to change that can be difficult to deal with, but he means well. He's determined and loyal, almost to a fault. His friends mean the world to him and he protects them fiercely.

Keefe: Cancer; due to his very sensitive, emotional nature and how reserved he is, I think he'd match cancer. He wants to be loved and to be needed, but has built up a thick defense against the world because he's so easy to hurt.

Biana: Aries; she's enthusiastic and strong-willed, not letting anyone get in the way of what she wants. She's competitive and loves to win, giving her all to everything she does. She may be overwhelming to some people, but is loving and dedicated to the important people in her life

Dex: Aquarius; given the eccentricity that Dex has displayed coupled with his unique--but effective--solutions to the problems he faces, i think this could fit. He's an easy person to be friends with, and he's very passionate about what he wants. Energetic and curious, he loves to be included and is upset when excluded.

Marella: Leo; She's very sociable and always knows everything about everyone that there is to know. Charismatic, people are drawn to her. But she won't give what she doesn't receive. If someone cuts her off, she'll retaliate. She likes to be in control socially, and when people start to poke into her personal like she gets defensive. Family is crucial to her and she defends hers intensely.

Linh: Capricorn; She's incredibly disciplined and will reach all her goals no matter the time it takes nor the effort she needs to expend. She knows her limits and what she's capable of, and understands the gravity of her situation. She's loyal and wonderful emotional support, handling life with a grace that's awe-inspiring to others.

Tam: Virgo; he's got a calm facade but there is so much going on in his head at all times. He can read people really well and isn't afraid to point it out. Family--chosen--means the world to him and he's devoted a lot of energy into caring for those relationships, making him a great friend if people can get past the exterior judgement.

Stina: Scorpio; people tend to avoid her and stay away, frightened by her intensity and rude attitude. She's forceful and does what she wants, though sometimes she looses sight of the consequences and is starkly reminded. She's secretive and hard to get to know, and has her sense of what is right and wrong and who she cares for. Not everyone agrees with her, but she's resolute in her decisions and attitude.

Maruca: Gemini; she's social, and subscribed almost entirely to the elven custom of shit-talking at the tender age of childhood. Despite being social, she can loose friends easily, moving on as soon as she isn't satisfied. She's also unafraid of risks, which can lead to ill-advised decisions and eagerness. She takes action and involves herself in things, but can be superficial at times.

Wylie: Scorpio; He's a very solitary, independent person. He relies on himself and pushes others away with a very intense personality. He's passionate about what he wants and what he wants to know, the truth and values important to him. He wants things to be worth it, and he wants to know things genuinely. He can hold strong grudges, but is intensely loyal.

Jensi: Sagittarius; he's curious and optimistic, finding friends in lots of different places. He's open and talkative, loving new things and determined to be positive. Though sometimes he just goes off, he does care for the people in his life. But can be hurt and feel left out when his energy isn't matched and he's left behind.

Jolie: Pisces; she was introverted and introspective, a mystery to others though her mind and personal life were wonders few got to see. She had an ideal world and tried to wish it into reality, but it would draw her away from what was real and she'd loose herself in the fantasy. She was sensitive and cared a lot, maybe more than was healthy for her.

I added some extra people at the end because I wasn't inhibited by the photo limit and so that there'd be a character for each of the signs!! Shout out to the scorpios who get two. greedy /j.

Like I said, I don't know a lot about zodiacs so I referenced the internet a lot for this!! This is legitimately the most I've probably ever thought about zodiacs, so take my assessments with a grain of salt!

Mikey sighed as he sat at a table. His family all asleep in their beds. Except two of course but he was waiting for his brothers. The box turtle was not as young as he used to be, ageing did that, but he was still able to do things at least, like make tea for himself and leo.

Speaking of his vampire brother he and Donnie were now at the table. Mikey smiled setting the cups down. Honestly he didn't know what Donnie did to make his robotic body be able to move like when he was 14 but Mikey was fine with not knowing.

"Let me guess this is about the boss Jr mentioned when he grabbed Arisu?" Mikey asked. 

"Corectomundo" Leo chirped pulling his mask down to be able to drink the tea. "I maaay have followed him to see who it was."

"Meaning you definitely did" Donnie would have snorted if his robotic body was capable of it. "But do go on."

"And it was one of Big Mama's descendants" Leo flopped back looking casual but Mikey knew his elder brother better than that he knew Leo was tense about it. "He's taken and interest in Arisu and Cody and I have a bad feeling about that."

Mikey silently cursed Big Mama's great great grandsons were an odd duo one was actually a benevolent boy who owned a small shop in the hidden city that sold clothes the other one definitely took up Big Mama's mantle. Of the two it could only be that one. Silence went over the three.

"Im going to have to up their training" Mikey sighed and then gave a half smile at Leo. "So they dont have to rely on being saved all the time."

Leo snorted "oh come on I wouldn't be saving them all they time." Leo took a sip of his tea.

"Only because they aren't always together so you can't save them all at once if they get in trouble." Donnie snarked, causing leo to do a prompt spit take and pound on his chest for a bit.

"Their kids can you blame me?" Leo asked leaning on the table his hand out.

"So were we…" Mikey mused "15,14, and 13 and saving the world from mutants yokai and ninja clans that fell from grace." Leo leaned back with a sigh.

"I know but...I don't want anyone going through what we did you know?" Leo crossed his arms and put his head in them looking much like the teenager he was trapped as. Both Donnie and Mikey put a hand on his shoulders.

"We know Leon but the universe isn't fair...we can only prepare them for that." Mikey stated 

"When did you become so wise?" Leo asked with a chuckle nudging Mikey a bit.

"Growing old tends to do that to a person" Mikey chuckled with amusement. The three then sat in silence for a while. For a moment closing their eyes and pretending they were back then when they were teenagers and the rest of their loving and chaotic family was still around when Donnie didn't have a body made of metal wires and probably magic, when Leo was still a normal turtle, when Mikey didn't look old and increasingly frail. For a moment they could just pretend. Especially since they know it wouldn't last and they would have to prepare for more chaos in their lives.

[ 👥 ] does your muse have many friends? do people feel they can rely on your muse?

I would say that Heath has many acquaintances. Heath is of course very friendly and warm towards everyone he meets. However, this is either not reciprocated most of the time or sorta laughed at. Heath is unfortunately not taken too seriously by the majority of people he meets.

Because of this, not many people see Heath as somebody who is reliable. This is a very flawed assumption though as Heath is probably one of my most reliable characters. Even when he is crippled by anxiety or his own self-doubt, Heath always pushes his fears aside to help his friends and family, and even complete strangers if the situation calls for it.

Heath's only real friends are many within my character cast, Logan, Emery, Levi, Rox, Heather, and Vincent. Other than that most of Heath's other friendships come of sorta shallow on the other person's part.

Doing something utterly cringy and fun with Logan to be honest. Like playing the skill games at Orchard Hill backwards. A lot of times Heath destress with Logan cause she is really good at just getting him to turn he's worries off. If not with Logan, Heath may pump up his tones, using headphones of course as not to disturb anybody else, as, like myself, Heath finds escape from his anxieties and stress in music 95% of the time.

He may also rub the Leo symbol on the CasMark as it acts as a worry stone and a bravery magnifier.

[ 🗾 ] how self-sufficient is your muse? are they more independent, or do they need others around them?

Heath is self-sufficient enough. He knows how to meet his basic needs to survive, it is just when his anxiety and depression acts up that being on his own is... questionable. But other than that minor occasion, Heath is perfectly capable of on his own, though he many not have the most well-balanced of diets.

For the most part, Heath is independent, he's just not really use to putting his own well-being first. as in the last foster home he was in before moving back to the old home in Luvartt, he took care of the younger kids in the home as he was the oldest. Because of this, he didn't really think a lot about what he needed.

Though Heath is never actually alone thanks to the fact he is haunted and sees ghosts. And some never leave him alone. Thankfully two of these ghosts are his moms, though. Which could be both a blessing and a curse. JK Heath loves his super supportive ghost moms, Kat and Sloan.

Thanks for the ask @icybreaths, if Heath and Jewel ever do mean, she can also see him as an unreliable and useless ball of nerves.

The feast was fantastic. Jason and Percy seemed to be getting along just fine, and Luke thought it was ironic how the sons of two clashing Gods and Cultures managed to click so quickly. Reyna kept looking at him, her eyes stormy and angry, and he shifted uncomfortably under her gaze. 

“The last time we met, your eyes were gold.” She murmured to him, under the boisterous noise of Percy and Jason trading stories of their last quests. 

Luke regarded Reyna, trying hard to dig through his murky memories. “I don’t remember fighting Romans,” Luke told her honestly. “He disregarded them.” 

“Of course he did, you’re Greek. You raised his Greek Form.” She bit out. “But don’t think for a moment I don’t remember the damage you caused.” 

“I worked in Manhattan before I came to find Percy, and I lived at Camp under strict regulations before that. I don’t need you to remember the damage I caused, I have plenty of reminders on the other side of the country.” He murmured. “It’s not worth much, but I am sorry, Praetor.” He bowed his head, trying to show this girl the utmost respect she deserved. “I never meant for it to escalate the way it did.”

Reyna was quiet for a moment, and he looked back up at her. She studied him, nodding slowly. “Jason seems to trust you. He’s changed… he’s not quite Roman anymore. But… ultimately, I trust his judgement.” Her eyes narrowed. “Don’t make me regret it.” 

Luke thought Reyna and Annabeth were going to make fine friends. 

“Yes ma’am,” He nodded. 

She nodded back and turned her attention to the rest of the group. 

Luke studied the group, especially the Augur. Octavian gave him a certain… vibe. A power hungry, resentful vibe. It only grew with Percy and Jason pulling rank, and Ella’s Prophecy that came out of nowhere. 

He jumped in when Octavian started accusing the Harpie of giving a prophecy, and Percy glanced at Luke with a ‘help me’ expression. “Come on man, I’m not really sure how the Harpies on the Roman side work, but back at Camp they only know how to cook, clean and eat campers who are out after curfew. We have an Oracle for Prophecies. You need someone coherent and powerful to give them out.” He shrugged. “I imagine that’s your job here, isn’t it?” He offered a relaxed smile, relying on the Hermes charm to put his mind at ease. 

Octavian huffed and crossed his arms. Luke maybe laid the flattery on a little thick, but it got Octavian to drop the subject nonetheless. “So what, we’re just going to trust these Greeks and their Greek Warship that’s looming over our city?” He asked Reyna. 

“If the ship is what you’re worried about, I can show you around,” Leo shrugged. “Let you take a look yourself.” 

“That would-” 

“That’s an excellent idea Leo,” Reyna interrupted Octavian’s protest. “Octavian, go with Leo and make sure it will be suitable for such a voyage.” 

Octavian opened his mouth to protest, but Reyna made it clear that it wouldn’t be in his best interest to do so. Leo grinned. “This is going to be epic.” He announced and led Octavian through the Forum, back to the Argo II. 

Jason got up with Piper to show her around, however, Annabeth was swept away by Reyna before Percy could take her, which left Percy with Luke. Percy shook it off and grinned at Luke. “Guess that means I get to show you the armoury.” 

“Lead the way.” Luke chuckled. “It was nice meeting you, Hazel and Frank.” He saluted and followed Percy through the areas. 

Percy told him about different areas as they passed them, but it was obvious he still wasn’t completely caught up in his duties as a Praetor. 

“That kid,” Luke started as Percy brought him into the weapon area- a huge area, the size of the Hermes and Poseidon cabins combined at least, were dedicated to swords. Luke picked one out as Percy sat to the side, watching him swing it around experimentally. “Octavian. Who’s his godly parent?” 

Percy shrugged. “He doesn’t have one. He’s a Legacy of Apollo, apparently his family has been here for like, a century.” 

Luke nodded, putting the sword back and grabbing another, swinging that one. “He’s the Augur,” Luke mused. “I’m assuming he wants to climb higher?” 

“He was pissed when I was announced Praetor.” Percy admitted, studying Luke. “Don’t take this the wrong way Luke, but he kind of… reminds me of you. Younger you.” 

Luke shook his head. “No, I get it.” He looked at the gold weapon in his hand, his eyes reflecting the colour dangerously, like a bad dream he couldn’t quite wake up from. “He reminds me of me too.” 

“Do you think he could be…?” Percy trailed off. “I don’t think Octavian would be capable.” 

“I don’t know.” Luke admitted, putting the sword back and grabbing a third, much more balanced one. “It’s not completely out of the question though. I just get a bad vibe from him. Just… be careful, okay? I didn’t come all this way only to go back to Sally empty handed because another blonde asshole was trying to get power.” 

Percy chuckled and shook his head before getting quiet. “How is she?” He asked. 

Luke sighed and looked over at him. “As good as can be expected. I’ve been Iris-Messaging her during the search, and I went to go see her before we came here. She misses you Percy, and she’s worried, that’s all.” 

“I should Iris-Message her later.” He murmured and shook his head. “So whatcha think? You like it?” He nodded to the sword. 

“Yeah, it’s nice, lighter than bronze.” He admired. 

“It’s yours then. As an apology for pulling you back in.” Percy told him. 

“Percy, I don’t think Reyna-” 

“Well, I’m still Praetor for now, so I say it’s okay.” He shrugged and got up. 

Luke nodded and took the sheath from Percy, putting the sword in and setting it to the side. “So,” He paused. “You gonna tell me about that harpie? And why she can speak prophecies?” 

Percy sighed and glanced around, lowering his voice and told Luke the story of how they came across Ella, and the books she’d read. 

He was just getting to the part about the Prophecies when a high pitched whistle pierced the air, followed by the sound of an explosion. Luke and Percy were on their feet and out the door in an instant.

Degrees of Taurus and Naruto characters (namely Sasuke, Itachi and Naruto)

I’ve recently started reading about the meaning and significants of each degree in the birth chart and have decided to utilize my new found knowledge for the purpose of drawing a more accurate chart for Naruto characters. 

In this part I’ve focused on the third decan of taurus. I’ve mentioned before that I’m certain Naruto has something in Taurus and Itachi apparently has more than one planet in taurus. We’ve also established that Sasuke has his moon in taurus. 

I’ve got these descriptions from the first document that pops up in google when you search taurus degrees meaning.

I’ve only guessed two of Itachi’s taurus degrees, the other probably isn’t in the third decan. Also I have 2 guesses for Sasuke and I’m not sure which one is more accurate. 

If you happen to have the same placement as the one I guessed for Itachi (28-29 degrees taurus) don’t take this to heart.

20-21: maybe Itachi

 Assuming as we did that no degree of the zodiac can convey any meaning if not looked at in the light of the horoscope as a whole, this rule does not fit any degree so thoroughly as this fifty-fourth degree which has something mysterious, or transcendent, in itself. Should the rest of the pattern be of a spiritual nature, an intense but hidden inner life would be the result. It is a degree of DESPOTISM. 

Commercial, Venusian, fashion and possession flaunting degree due to Libra here better for females - causes grief for males. Gifted with beauty, believed more than it should - can pick and choose partners and mate who are subjects and followers. Always “right” in its own world, and therefore an unconscious danger to others, apt to take them down paths best left for the foolish, Danger of addictions, Magnetic and proud; good organizer and able administrator.

Too many divergent interest brings a life of confusion. The development of the will is necessary and will bring success in property ownership and development.

Tyrannical, selfish, and fanatic character. There is a strong propensity for debauchery and sexual perversions. One imposes one's narrow-minded ideas to members of the family, friends, and employees, which arouses much hatred. Sooner or later, slaves are freed, and the despot is overthrown. Jack is a Sagittarius, with his rising sign also being Sagittarius and his moon sign Aries.

Jack’s tendency to be harsh is pretty well documented - in a fight, or argument, he doesn’t exactly shy away from saying things which others might think go too far. For example, when talking to Leo Jack frequently brings up Leo’s mother and family situation, despite being aware that it’s something which makes Leo uncomfortable. That being said, he does have the ability to turn it off - with people such as Balo and Caitriona, who Jack genuinely cares about, he’s notably less harsh and chooses to not say things which he believes may upset or bother them. So although he does exhibit this trait, it’s clear he does have some level of control over how harsh he is, meaning that it’s something he’s aware of doing. Similarly, he is able to exaggerate how harsh he’s being when it comes to people he dislikes, telling Zander he’s being self centred when he brought up that Jack wasn’t the only one with a bad family situation - again showing that Jack can control how harsh he is and that he can choose to be worse when it comes to those he wants to mess with. 

It’s not just a trait which affects the people Jack interacts with - the harsh quality to his personality also comes in when discussing how Jack treats himself. Although he may not show it on the surface, Jack has a history of self hatred, with stems from his tendency to judge himself too harshly and to blame himself for things which couldn’t have been his fault. He is especially harsh to himself when it comes to blaming himself for his mother’s death - although it wasn’t his fault at all, he tends to assume that had he not allowed himself to be taken away, she might have had something to live for. Of course, this is an incorrect view to take, but it does demonstrate his tendency to be overly harsh towards himself. He tends to expect perfection when it comes to some tasks - obviously not all schoolwork, he couldn’t care less half the time, but when it comes to a few subjects Jack has a drive and a level of perfectionism that most people may not expect of him. He’s pretty determined that he’ll break the cycle of his upbringing, that he’ll end up in a better position than his mother did, and that translates into Jack being way too harsh with himself if he messes up, concerned it’s the first steps into him ending up in the same position. 

As far as a rebellious nature goes, it’s not exactly something which goes unnoticed for Jack. He definitely has some obvious instances where it can’t be ignored, ranging from smoking weed with Eleanor to full on fighting Zander, to skipping class and other mainstays of teenage rebellion. These more obvious rebellious actions also extend to his home life, beyond school. Jack will pretty much rail against anything his adopted parents tell him to do or want for him. Things as dumb as his adopted father wanting him to have a neat haircut turn into Jack taking a pair of scissors to his head and giving himself one he knows he’ll disapprove of, or his adopted mother wanting Jack to speak in a more eloquent way as she thinks his accent will be judged at college interviews will turn into Jack deliberately speaking in the most thick Sheffield accent he can manage. Part of this is related to his strong sense of identity and his fear that his adopted parents will want to make him more into their image and take away the parts of him which link him to his own birth family, but mostly it’s because Jack cannot handle being told what to do. 

Less obvious cases of Jack being rebellious are also apparent within his life and his interactions with other characters. He can often be seen rejecting worry and concern offered to him by Balo - it could be partly due to Jack’s emotional distancing, but it’s also him rejecting what most people would say he needs, railing against social norms that way. He’s unafraid to be different - he never feels held back by gender norms or by society’s expectations of him, in fact he happily goes against all of them as much as he can. This also links to him being underestimated in terms of intelligence or strength - once he hears someone has a prior expectation of him, Jack feels the need to rebel against it, in any way he possibly can. In this sense, it can be a positive thing - but considering that his rebellious nature feeds into his friendships, preventing friends from being able to rely on him or expect certain things from him, it can also be toxic for any relationship he ends up in. It’s also a negative thing for situations where certain rules have to be followed, especially at Luxor since Jack sees a rule and just instinctively needs to break it. 

Impatience is a trait which fits Jack slightly less well. It’s true that he can be impatient in some situations, but overall he exhibits multiple cases of being able to play the waiting game. He’s happy to spend weeks, months even building up a friendship with someone only to destroy it in the end - if he were too impatient, this is something he’d definitely struggle to keep going with for so long. It’s true that he can be impatient in some settings, finding it hard to sit still through long boring classes and tending to skip ahead when he’s watching a movie - but the fact that he has shown a capability to be patient when he needs to shows that this trait is one of the few Sagittarius traits which do not fit Jack perfectly.

Independence is a trait which could be ascribed to both Jack’s personality and the way he was raised, a case of nature and nurture together. It could be argued that his independence is less related to who he is and more related to the fact that from a young age, when he was living with his mother Jack had no choice but to do as much as he could for her. He was made to cook and clean and so on even as a very young child, as if he did not do the domestic tasks, they would not get done and he would not be able to eat etc. So from that perspective, the argument could be made that Jack’s independence is not  due to his personality and more because he is so unused to accepting help that he does not know how. However, although his upbringing definitely had a hand in influencing how independent he is, it’s also just generally a part of Jack’s personality. He does not like to admit weakness, to the point where he cannot accept needing to let someone help him with anything.

Jack’s independence is demonstrated frequently during Luxor interactions. One key example would be when he gets beaten up, he never allows Balo or Caitriona to help patch him up, no matter how injured he gets. He always prefers to do it himself, and this is true of most situations. He didn’t tell anyone about his mother’s death, which could be seen as another demonstration of his independence - he preferred to work through his grief by himself rather than accepting someone’s sympathy or help. Overall, independence is a trait which both holds Jack back and is a positive. On the negative side, Jack is held back by his inability to accept any help. When he’s struggling with something, he could often take less time to complete it if he allowed somebody to aid him. On the other hand, however, it helps him be stronger as he’s never overly reliant on anyone. It fits him pretty well. 

As far as being passionate goes, Jack’s not really someone who displays passion constantly. He can seem pretty unbothered by most subjects, to be honest - but I’d say this is less because he isn’t a passionate person and has more to do with his tendency to hide his emotions in general. He’s definitely someone who feels his emotions very strongly, it could be argued that all of his recent fights (Zander and Leo) have been related to him being overly passionate and emotional - he fought with both Leo and Zander over them mentioning his mother, with can be seen as Jack being passionate about defending his family. How passionate he seems can also depend on who he’s with - for example, he has no problem outwardly expressing his enthusiasm and excitement when it’s just him and Balo (mostly for Reese Withercoon) but when it comes to being around people he’s more uncomfortable with, he can seem much less interested, even when it comes to topics that he’s inwardly passionate about. Although that isn’t a reflection of whether Jack is a passionate person or not, more so a reason as to why even though he exhibits this trait, it’s not necessarily obvious in his Luxor interactions. 

Loyalty is a trait which I would say is pretty obvious when it comes to Jack. His refusal to accept Claire and George, his adopted parents, as his family would be a key example. Jack is too loyal to his birth mother to even use the words mum and dad with his adopted parents - despite the fact that he’s lived with them for five years now. It’s also obvious in the way he continues to defend his mother and insist that he belonged with her and even the way that he can still love her wholeheartedly, despite the circumstances in which he was removed from her care. It’s clear from this example that Jack is incredibly loyal to his mother, and that this loyalty has carried over to his time at Luxor: he’s fought two people in less than a week because they insulted her, so he’s still pretty damn loyal.

Jack’s loyalty is also probably quite clear in the fact that he’s willing to defend his actual friends for anything. He’s not close to many people at Luxor, being able to count on one hand the number of people he actually gives a shit about, but when it comes to people like Caitriona or Balo, or even Eleanor, he’d do anything for them. It’s maybe not quite as obvious as his loyalty to his mother, but that’s more because he hasn’t had much time to demonstrate his loyalty to them as compared to his demonstrated loyalty to his mum, but it’s still pretty clear that he has a big capacity to be loyal to the people he genuinely cares about, even if there are very few of them. An example would be the way Jack is willing to defend Balo if anyone says anything even remotely derogatory, or the way he’s willing to do things such as give her his clothes when she gets cold, showing that there is at least a measure of trust and loyalty involved in his relationship with her.

If there are any specific opposing traits that your character has which isn’t typical for their sign, what traits are they? (i.e. Their sign says they’re stubborn but they’re actually a pushover) Give examples of this opposing behaviour.

Sagittarius are often depicted as being gullible, which is a trait I would say Jack does not exhibit. In fact, he’s pretty sceptical overall. You could argue that his scepticism is more so due to his upbringing and that if he had been raised in a more normal setting, he might have come out more gullible overall - but in general I would say Jack’s personality does not allow for gullibility. He’s the sort of person who’s more drawn to logic and numbers overall, so if you tell him something, he tends to need a quantifying reason evidencing your suggestion. He tends to be curious as well, questioning pretty much everything whether it’s something he was taught in class or something someone tells him about their personal life. This is clear in the ways he frequently questions Luxor students if they try to deny something he’s saying or in the way he will not accept a false answer if he believes it to be anything less than the whole truth - were he more gullible, Jack might just accept whatever they said, or at least part of it, as the truth. I would also say that most people, when interacting with Jack, wouldn’t necessarily pick gullible as a trait they’d ascribe to him - he just doesn’t come across in conversations or other interactions as the type to believe anything you tell him, to any degree. So overall I would say Jack doesn’t exhibit the gullibility often associated with Sagittarius.

A second Sagittarius trait which I don’t see Jack having is a tendency to be easily bribed. Although he wouldn’t say no to extra money or something, Jack is also incredibly stubborn and I can’t see him being swayed by the promise of a bribe. If he decides he wants to do something or find something out, you can’t force him to stop with any amount of money, and equally if you want him to do something he does not want to do, it’s almost impossible to convince him no matter the bribe. There are few good examples of Luxor interactions where Jack shows this, but there are definitely examples in his backstory of his adopted mother and father attempting to make him behave with promises of money or gifts which obviously did not work. It could be suggested that Jack’s stubbornness just holds back the part of him which is easily bribed, but I would say that he’s just in general not the kind of person who can be convinced to do something with presents. It could be linked to his backstory - Jack grew up with very little, so he’s not in general a material person so things such as material bribes just don’t appeal to him so much in comparison to what he has to gain from, for example, pushing his way into finding out about someone’s backstory. But overall he doesn’t really fit the Sagittarius trait of being easily bribed.

Which zodiac sign associated traits does your character exhibit that would be obvious to others? Which traits aren’t as obvious?

The more obvious traits which Jack exhibits are often the negative traits, which is most likely because he spends more of his time being negative to people at Luxor than utilising the more positive aspects of his personality. Perhaps the most obvious one would be the fact that he’s unreasonably harsh - Jack is, in general, pretty harsh to anyone who he doesn’t have an ulterior motive to justify being nice to. He willingly winds up people such as Leo and Zander, and he often resorts to childish insults such as insulting Christopher’s hair. He’s also pretty harsh to teachers, not seeing an issue with making fun of authoritative figures, and especially rude to those he’s been involved with in the past. In fact, I’d say that even without knowing his zodiac or being prompted, most people would easily describe Jack as being harsh. It’s something which is obvious even when it comes to people he’s not actively being rude to: an example of this would be when talking to Kenzie, Jack can completely dismiss her insecurities without making any attempt to deny them or improve her mood. Jack has no ill feelings toward Kenzie, but the harsher aspect of his personality means that he is unable to take a softer stance with her, thus causing him to be unnecessarily rude and dismissive. 

Similarly, Jack’s tendency to be rebellious is also fairly obvious to most people. Whether it’s smaller misdemeanours such as drinking or smoking, or bigger issues such as the use and dealing of drugs, Jack pays little to no attention to the school rules. This isn’t a secret amongst his peers, either. In fact, he actively encourages them to go off of the rails with him. One of his trademarks is his tendency to court younger or more naive students, befriending them and then becoming a negative influence in their life, encouraging them to make poor decisions which they may later regret. Teachers would likely note his rebellious nature as a result - it doesn’t exactly go unnoticed, although any consequences they might bestow on Jack don’t exactly do anything to dissuade him from future rebellion. I would say that he fits the high school rebel stereotype to an extent so it would make sense for him to be obviously rebellious to others. 

Of his positive traits, possibly the one most clear to others would be his independence. Jack is independent to the point where he cannot accept help in any situation, and this wouldn’t go unnoticed in situations such as group projects where despite being seemingly rebellious, he can’t help but do all the work because he hates having to rely on other people. In interactions with other Luxor students he has visibly demonstrated his independence in his refusal to allow people he trusts such as Balo to help him clean up after fights, making it fairly obvious that he does not have the capability to work with others or accept their aid when he needs it. It’s also noteworthy that although he has a reputation for generally causing chaos, Jack does not often work with other people in order to do that, preferring to work by himself even though he could likely cause even more trouble if he teamed up. This fairly obviously demonstrates the way that he prefers to work alone and independently even to the detriment of whatever he’s trying to do. So I would say that Jack’s independence is overall pretty obvious to other Luxor students. It’s also obvious to the people in his home life, considering Jack’s constant refusal to let his adopted parents give him help with anything, whether it’s help when he’s sick or help with college applications. 

Jack’s loyalty is something which is obvious to those close to him but less obvious to those not, because it truly only applies to a very few people. An example would be his willingness to do anything for Balo and Eleanor - it’s probably obvious to them that Jack is loyal and would stick by them through almost anything, but someone like Zander who is looking from the outside in, it appears that Balo is just another conquest for Jack and that he’s not loyal to her and has ulterior motives. It’s not helped by the fact that Jack is quick to deny any loyalty - Jack’s afraid of seeming vulnerable, so he’s happy to let other people think he’s disloyal by nature. His misinformation, coupled with his track record of hurting people, can completely mask his loyalty for most people, making it much less obvious than it would be to those genuinely close to him. However, some of Jack’s loyalties become more obvious than others. For example, his repeated willingness to fight anyone who insults or makes a comment on his mother demonstrate undeniably that he’s loyal to her no matter the fact that he was taken away from her. But this makes up such a small proportion of Jack’s interactions that I would say in general his loyalty is not obvious to most of the people he interacts with. 

Impatience is an interesting trait for Jack because it’s probably something people assume is more of a big deal for Jack than it really is. Because they likely see him in situations where he’s being impatient toward menial things - when he’s skipping ahead in a movie, fidgeting his way through class because he gets bored and can’t focus, giving up on studying after twenty minutes - it’s probable that most people would think Jack is just in general a very impatient person. But because his capability to be patient is pretty limited to things where he has something to gain from waiting it out, he limits it in general to the cases when he’s waiting to break a person. And obviously, most people don’t see that. So although his impatience is obvious to most people, it’s actually pretty misleading compared to how the trait plays into his actual personality.

Overall, do you find that your character’s sign suits their personality? Why or why not?   

I would say that overall, Sagittarius fits Jack pretty well. The majority of Sagittarius traits have been accounted for somewhere in Jack’s personality or interactions with other students at Luxor, and although there are a few traits I would say fit him less well, those could be accounted for at least to some extent, it was just that they did not fit Jack quite as well as other traits. It’s definitely the sign which fits him best out of the whole zodiac.

Which aspect under the “In a Nutshell” header do you think describes your character the best? The least?   

“They are detached from emotions” is the aspect of the In a Nutshell header which I would say fits Jack the best. Although it’s a recurring joke that he is heartless, there is definitely some truth in that Jack prefers to keep feelings away as much as he can, partly because he is frightened by the idea of allowing him to feel too deeply about someone and later be hurt. He would definitely agree with the sentiment described in the header that emotions hold a person back - Jack believes that having strong emotions about people and subjects will only lead to pain, thus holding him back and hurting him in the long run. He would also agree with the idea that Sagittarius “do not like to discuss their feelings” - he’s definitely very closed off when it comes to what he’s really thinking or feeling. This is evidenced in the fact that he did not tell even Balo when his mother died, working through the grief by himself without allowing anyone else to know about it or help him - this again links to the idea of Jack being scared of letting other people know what he’s really thinking. He’s not completely heartless, but he’s definitely detached and unwilling to let feelings get involved, making this the aspect of the header which best fits him.

“They are guided by luck” is the aspect of the header which I believe fits Jack the least. For one thing, judging by his backstory he hasn’t exactly had the best luck in life, so it’s not particularly accurate from a very literal point of view. From a more personality based perspective, as previously stated Jack is much more inclined toward a Type A personality when it comes to decision making - he prefers looking at things logically, weighing up the options and making a decision based solely on facts. So luck really isn’t something he believes in, nor would he allow impulsive decisions or good fortune to sway him from picking what he believes to be the most logical choice. In addition to this, Jack just completely lacks the "optimistic outlook and positive disposition which attracts good fortune” described in the header. He could honestly be described as a pessimist, someone who assumes the worst in any given situation and who always prepares himself for the worst case scenario. (He may seem cheerful, but this doesn’t mean he’s not assuming the worst.) He doesn’t really have a positive disposition either - he may seem optimistic but this is more a cover than anything else. Jack assumes that if he seems happy and unbothered, he’ll therefore avoid any questions about his actual emotions. In actuality, he’s much less happy than he lets on, and has much less of a positive disposition - meaning this aspect of being a Sagittarius does not fit him.

Which aspect under the “Deep Inside” header do you think describes your character the best? The least?   

The aspect under the Deep Inside header which I think best fits Jack is “others may be hurt by their lack of commitment but they don't care.” This pretty much sums Jack’s attitudes up when talking about relationships. As someone who doesn’t really believe in love, or at least does not believe he is worthy of it, Jack refuses to let himself be fully tied down. He’s cheated on every person he’s ever really dated, and has absolutely no regrets. Commitment just isn’t something he allows into his life, and for obvious reasons this can upset those he chooses to date. Jack really doesn’t give a shit, though - he sees the whole idea as so stupid that if someone genuinely subscribes to the idea of love and a lasting relationship with him, they deserve to be hurt. He is self absorbed in that he feels the need to protect his own heart above all else - so the second he sees things going any deeper than just casual sex, he jumps ship, leaving the other person to pick up the pieces so that he escapes relatively unscathed. His commitment issues are so bad that Jack has only been in a relationship when he genuinely cared about the other person once, and he was still scared enough of the commitment that he ended it. 

The aspect which I think least fits Jack is “they don't dwell on hurt because it is a waste of their energy.” This is completely different to Jack, who holds a grudge easily, for lengthy periods of time. He’s unable to let go of pain as quickly as the Sagittarius traits detailed in the Deep Inside section might suggest. For example, Jack holds multiple grudges against his adoptive parents for relatively little things which really weren’t their fault, most recently he’s been mad since December because his adopted mother wouldn’t let him fly back to England to see his mother because he was unwell. He’s not exactly the sort of person to forgive or forget, he definitely remembers and is still mad about things which happened a long time ago - and not always justifiably so. He honestly doesn’t even see it as a waste of energy, he’s not mature enough to think about it that way - Jack always has anger leftover to spare. So I would say the idea that Sagittarius don’t dwell on hurt or hold grudges is not particularly fitting for Jack.

Read the “How to Attract” header of your character’s sign. Do you find this accurately describes what would draw them to another person?    

I mean, Jack will sleep with anything that moves. But the How to Attract section seems to agree: “These are the easiest people to get a date with but don’t think that this is written in stone, they are the biggest commitment phobe of all zodiac signs.” This pretty much sums up Jack’s dating style: he’ll happily sleep with or go on a date with anyone, but when it comes to commitment he has absolutely no concept of being exclusive or serious with someone. In fact, if you start talking about such things, he’ll probably run away. As far as initially attracting him to a person goes, it’s mainly suggested on the page that to attract Sagittarius, you should “not pry into intimate details about their life. Keep your emotional distance.” This pretty much sums up how to get Jack to stay with you long enough to fuck you or as close as he can get to a relationship. Asking him personal details and seeming like you’re outwardly deep into him already is an easy way to get Jack to either run away, or he might resolve to use your feelings against you instead. Either way, it’s an easy way to get him to put up walls and not get close to you, and become even more guarded than usual. So overall, I would say the section is pretty accurate for him.

Did you already have a birthday chosen for your character? Had you considered the sign associated with that date? If you don’t find that your character fits the descriptions of their sign, which of the other signs do you think they’re like?

I already had December picked out as Jack’s birth month - his middle name is Noel, referencing that he was born in the same month as Christmas. (And also Noel Gallagher.) I knew Jack would better fit Sagittarius than Capricorn, as Capricorns tend to be more responsible and patient, so I decided to make his birthday be in early December (December 4) in order to make him a Sagittarius. I chose his rising to be Sagittarius as well because it enhances the Sagittarius traits displayed - I felt like Jack’s Sagittarius traits were so strong that he shouldn’t have a conflicting rising sign or one with differing traits to the Sagittarius ones, so it made sense for him to be a double Sagittarius. If he were to be another sign, I would put him as Aries, as he does share some traits with Aries: independence, moodiness, a short temper. For that reason his moon sign is Aries, which contributes to him demonstrating a slightly moodier and more hot tempered nature than many Sagittarius men.

Are there any additional descriptions you found in your reading that stand out to you or also describe your character well? What were they?

From Astrosofa: “Sagittarius enjoy discussions, and for this purpose, they need people who interact with them. They do not like listeners around them. They need an opponent who argues with them, and they want to announce their message of salvation. They need the fight, and that's why they often provoke their audience until they cannot stand them anymore.”

This is noteworthy because it pretty much summarises why Jack’s friendship with Caitriona works so well, as opposed to his poor relationships with many Luxor students. Caitriona is never too submissive when she’s with Jack - she always provides a counterargument, and doesn’t just let him walk all over her. This means Jack is able to have a proper discussion with her, rather than walking all over her as he does with many. It also explains much of the reason why Jack constantly winds up other Luxor students, most notably Leo: the idea that he needs the fight, and that he provokes others until they cannot stand him, definitely makes sense when looking at how he will constantly bring up Leo’s mother to bother him. 

From Explore Astrology: “Parts of the body ruled by Sagittarius are the liver, hips, and thighs - Sagittarians have a sensitive liver and may be susceptible to drug and alcohol abuse, hepatitis, and HIV.” 

Coming from a junkie mother with a history of drug abuse, and being an occasional drug user himself, it’s interesting that this could be linked to the parts of the body ruled by Sagittarius. 

From Liveabout: “Your moon sign relates to the kind of mothering you got, and those with an Aries Moon were encouraged to be emotionally independent.”

This is definitely accurate for Jack, considering the type of mothering he got forced him to be as independent as possible, so it’s interesting to see that his moon sign correlates with this.
