i have screamed and begged and cried and prayed for this arc to be animated for so long like we all have and it looks amazinghdhfkfkckf
do you have any expectations from the new studio? in regards to manga accuracy, portrayal, etc?? i hate to be pessimistic but I just don’t want to get my hopes up :D i think the arcs that the previous studio did from the circus arc and beyond were pretty good though so hopefully they model their storytelling
my opinion on kuro anime in general is that i like it! however, i always thought that animation wise and design wise it was lacking! compared to fight scenes in other animes i thought it was p plain, like i was so excited for bota lizzys fight scene but i ended up disappointed. i feel like im in the minority when i say this but i really dont like sebs design s3 onwards bc they removed his cunt!!!!!!! hes too yaoi lookin!!!!!!!!! anyway i knew in the future kuro would get another anime adaptation and i always said 'man i wish a different studio would do it but thats not gunna happen' :( i didnt kno about the studio changed till i watched the trailed and when i saw this shot??????? its so beautiful HELLO??????????????? WE R SO BACK
Tumblr media
yanas style has proved to be impossible to fully replicate but i think theyve done such a great job, i rlly think ciel is spot on. and obviously i adore sebs new design i think its so so sex and if ur on the fence about it that was just one shot! we have no idea what they look like when there fighting or what expressions they pull! AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE!!!!!!!!
every anime after s2 has been completely faithful to the manga and i think they know thats what people want so im not worried about them messing it up! im so excited to see soma and lizzy again and 2024 IS THE RETURN OF SEBAGNI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Why are all SK fans proshippers" Silence fetus
#text#mind you SK was released in a very different time period where fandoms back in the day were built different. freaks strived and#everyone back in the day followed fandom etiquette “ship and let ship” and “dont like dont read”. fandoms back in the old day were#peaceful and supported one another. ppl shipped anything and everyone and ppl minded their own business in the early 2000s#thats how almost all old sk veteran fans i know turn out to be what they are today#(ofc there are some. other veteran folks i do not fuck with as theyre also genuine assholes and are hypocrites/ostracizes others.#. but another discussion for another day lol. you must be a level 100+ of friendship to unlock my tragic sk fan backstory)#also news flash all of your favorite anime/manga stories are all written by profic ppl! thats right! everyone in japan are profic#shocking i know#japanese folks dont give a flying rat ass when it comes to FICTIONAL morals because they know how to differentiate between fic and reality#the fact that so many antis keep on twisting the word proship so many times to the point where its widely misinterpreted and ppl#nowadays esp the younger gen easily believe in the misinformation and keep repeating the cycle of misinformation in modern fandoms today#it pisses me off honestly#but yeah what did you expected from a old series that came out in the late 90s. the fact that theyre consuming the series when the series#itself also literally has problematic elements too lol#and see this is why im glad SK is niche despite that i wish it was popular so it can bring in more renmei fans but in the end its better of#being niche#because had it blown up it wouldve attracted all of the chronically online kids/puritans/fandom police and ruin everything for everyone#modern fandom today is the reason why all fandoms suck nowadays and its why i gave up joining and being part of them#theres discrimination everywhere in modern fandoms. oh your a proshipper? gtfo DNI and kys!!!!11111#its like theres eggshells everywhere no matter where you go. you have to abide with morality and puritanical rules its the “automatic” law#but fuck that thats never been the automatic law in fandoms lol. Ship and let ship AND dont like dont read is the real fandom laws here lol#but back to what i want to also say. theres nothing you can do about SK fans being proshippers. the old fans has always operated that way#since the old times. either adapt / cope with it OR you can just. block everyone and preserve your peace. which takes like 10 seconds#this is like maybe the 15th SK puritan fan i know lol. then again i also know theres ALOT of renmei antis who follow the puritan mindset#imao. I say this alot many times but SK fandom is only ugly and almost everyone becomes a puritan when renmei gets mentioned#which has always made me ????????????????? so yall can handle yoyo boy and anna teen preg can handle serg getting groomed/manipulated#by marc and xes laws can handle kids getting their arms and legs ripped off can handle kids getting killed left and right#can handle shipping bruce lee whos like plenty years older than JUN which btw beginning of the series she starts off being 17#but a 4 year age gap between ren and jeanne is too much apparently and should be cancelled. geez louise

Propaganda Under Cut
Sakura Haruno
Her husband is gay and her author doesn't know how to write women. So many people say she's the worst but she. DESERVES. BETTER!!! Save her from this franchise.
My baby girl my bestie my best friend. She committed the crime of um being written by kishimoto who both doesn’t know how to write women and somehow writes men in the gayest way possible specifically naruto and sasuke. Like the thing is naruto and sasuke ARE gay and also she gets so much hate for the crime of kishimoto writing her one dimensionally in love with sasuke. I know her personally she is a butch lesbian to me just trust me she’s in love with Ino and has a lesbian thing going on with Karin okay just trust me. My everything. She needs to divorce the loveless lavender marriage she’s in
What is there to say, even? The OG Threat to my 90s anime brain, the only woman I've ever hated with such a passion she made me turn away from the color pink. I used to write fics with my friend where she got left behind on purpose so our OCs could join the Naruto and Sasuke team instead. I loathed this bitch until I was 16 and realized the author simply couldnt write women and decided it was time to make peace with Sakura. It is not her fault she's vaguely written and obsessive over Sasuke. She deserves better. Sasuke and Naruto still should be together and Sakura shouldnt be with Sasuke but I no longer believe this because I hate Sakura, it is because I love her. She deserves a spouse who will actually put in the time to treat her like the hero she is.
Misa Amane
she gets treated in-canon the way fandoms treat female characters that Threaten an m/m ship. it's like, "oh why don't you go sit in the corner and be pretty, misa, while the Men have intelligent conversation and pretend they aren't ten seconds from fucking each other, doesn't that sound nice?" it's infuriating. and MAYBE it's better now but i remember her getting treated the same way in fanfiction too, like we all need to do just as badly by our female secondary characters as fucking tsugumi ohba, but with the added insult of making her be alternately oblivious of the relationship between light and L or actively trying to sabotage it—incompetently, of course, because god forbid misa be allowed dignity or moments of cleverness.
she's one of the first characters I think of when I consider old school fandom misogyny. The annoying bitch and clingy crazy gf allegations were AFTER HER ASS. She's also a lot more intelligent than people gave her credit for, but most seem inclined to take the Very Biased word of our unreliable, narcissistic narrator and his homoerotic arch nemesis and claim that just because she's bubbly and into romance that she's also a complete moron. Which is blatantly untrue. Everyone was afraid of Misa girlbossing too hard. Killing people and devoting yourself to the deranged twink of your dreams even though you know he'll never love you back??? Having a hardcore goth aesthetic and being so Hot even literal Death Gods are into you?? God forbid women do ANYTHING!
Not only is she the victim of yaoi culture, she is the victim of early 2000s misogyny by an author that wanted to introduce a girl character because he knew his male rivals were getting too homoerotic. She is a goth bimbo icon who portrays what I think is one of the few callouts for stan culture and what parasocial relationships can do to both the stan and the idol. The fact that she is a toxic fan of Kira and also hot, funny, sociable is tragic in its own way, which I think the author did try to touch on but was too misogynistic too really get through. Of course, she was reduced to villain status by the fandom and anime alike because she got in the way of the supposed romance in their psychological horror anime

How an animated series saved Remy LeBeau (again)
Tumblr media
It's a bit of a hyperbolic title, but catchy, non?
I was looking over my comic collection as I've decided to reread X-Men's 60 year history over the course of the summer. And it got me thinking about a dead period of 616 canon that I've never actually read. Around the time Rogue hooked up with Magneto and scooted off to the Avengers, I decided I'd be done with comics for a while. And didn't start again until Rogue (and Gambit) came back to the X-books in 2017's Astonishing X-Men. But it made me wonder -- What happened to Gambit in that time??
Well, after his solo ended, he flitted around to X-Factor and hung out with X-23 and then kind of went 'poof' for a good long while.
Why? I can only guess the same reason this is a running motif with Gambit. There's something about him that drives the X-Office crazy. I'm not here to speculate what or how or who of it all. I don't know enough about the back end of Marvel to give concrete answers. But I think what has surprised me (recently) is that he's definitely a fan favorite character.
[Yes, I know he can be a divisive character. Yes, I know elements of his character from the 90s have not aged well. Yes, I know there are those of you who can't stand him. Don't really care - you can get off my lawn, thank you.]
Which got me thinking -- Gambit's original popularity, I believe, stemmed from the original X-Men Animated Series. He had just started showing up in the comics at the time, and had barely any kind of page time. And the X-Men TAS swung and was a hit. And so was Gambit.
I don't really know that Gambit would be around today if TAS hadn't done its thing. Would the X-Office have kept him around? I really have no idea.
But they did try to get rid of him. That was the point of leaving him in Antarctica. And things were just never the same after that. Claremont tried his best in the early 2000s. And then Deathbit happened. Carey's run wasn't bad. But Carey clearly had an agenda for other things... And then, Gambit just kind of faded into the background. (I hear his run as a side character for Laura (X-23) was good - but I haven't read that.)
Bless Kelly Thompson (always) for sparking life back into him with (and his relationship with Rogue). And bless the fact that she actually married him to Rogue. Yes, I understand comics -- my god look what they did to Peter and MJ, no one really gets to be happily married except Sue and Reed. He and Rogue are now really tied together in a way that I don't think is going to be undone any time soon.
Even if the X-Office still isn't thrilled with the guy. Krakoa era has been less than ideal. (I can't comment on it fully - I haven't read much of it, as I'm behind on my comic reading.) But I've heard rumors that one reason Thompson was let go was that she didn't want Gambit killed off. And she didn't like the direction they wanted to take the character.
Which leads me to X-Men 97. Killing him off sucked. Really. As a fan, it really sucked. But - my god, the reaction to it. Gambit was amazing. And all I've heard lately is good things about the character. There's been a Gambit resurgence in the best way. He may have went out -- but he went out with a bang. X-Men 97 made an emotional impact with people. And that changes things.
Gambit is cool again.
And I love it.
What's even more exciting is the fact that the X-Office has changed hands again and Gail Simone on Uncanny who (if her Twitter/X feed is to be believed) is really enjoying writing the character. Which means (hopefully) at least another year or two in the comics of some (hopefully) great Gambit stuff.
And maybe there will be some changing of hearts and minds in the X-Office.
It's actually very exciting.
And, guys, I really (really, really) doubt he'll be completely gone from X-Men 97, too.
Because Remy LeBeau never stays down for long.
But as a fan, it's nice to see him be on top again. And I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐃 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐃 𝐁𝐎𝐘 𝐏𝐓 𝟐
Tumblr media
part one
Genre: angst
Warnings: mentions of drug and alcohol abuse. Rehab. ( Sad ending for Kook but he understands why )
Setting: early 2000s ,, New York
Summary: After months of being in rehab, Jungkook was able to get fully sober and just wanted a restart. He's finally back in his band and ready to properly take on his career. The band was in New York just hanging out at the mall until he noticed you with a new boyfriend.
Rockstar!Jungkook
Tumblr media
My brother picked me up from the rehabilitation center and I was greeted with my members sitting in the back of the truck. They all popped confetti and screamed in admiration for me as I was fully better. I couldn't help but smile and screamed with them. I felt like a changed man and I was determined to leave the drugs and drinking alone for good.
I was able to get over my father's death and my mother walking out. All I really needed was someone to talk to instead of having my emotions be bawled up. I was overwhelmed with my own self-stressing myself out. I had amazing resources but ended doing something that I wasn't supposed to.
The members really kept me in check throughout our comeback album. During interviews, I was prepared for the questions where fans were desperate to know. I told them the truth and made a promise to everyone, letting them know I won't go through such a path ever again.
I was diagnosed with major depression and still have to take anti depressants every day to keep me from doing anything stupid. My members- Jaehyun specifically, was on my ass about me taking my pills as if I was some kid. I eventually took an understanding and just listened to him.
It was a friday night and our band was backstage getting ready to go on the tonight show with Jay Leno. I was a bit nervous as it was going to be my first time being in front of a live audience in awhile. I was getting my hair and makeup done, as my leg were shaking on the chair. Yugyeom took noticed as he was sitting next to me reading a magazine.
"Kook, you alright bro?"
"Yeah..just nervous"
"It'll be okay"
Yugyeom gave me a reassuring grin before caressing my thigh. It honestly calmed me down a bit. I was nearly on the verge of breaking down into a panic attack. I did my breathing exercises before it was time to go on to national television.
The interview went very well and was comfortable after Jay didn't say anything about my addiction but instead asked if I was a-ok. The band went along to perform our new single flawlessly; leaving the fans screaming. I could tell people really did miss and care for me when I took a moment to take out my earpiece. They were chanting my name.
It made me a little teary eyed as I walked back to our dressing room.
Saturday afternoon came around and me and the gang was out just having a chill time. We walked around manhattan and eventually just ended up at a mall. We all had some shopping done and just took ourselves a break at the food court. Eunwoo was kind enough to treat everyone with a burger meal-which we dreaded on paying him back.
"Kook, I just wanna say- we all wanna say that we are proud of you. If you have any issues please..don't hesitate to tell us." Eunwoo said, giving me a purple and black box. "What is it?" I asked smiling out of curiosity..still having some burger in my mouth.
"It's a gift from us- to you." Jaehyun answered. "Open it." I went along and opened the box. Inside was a Vivienne Westwood ring. A ring similar to a character from an anime I took fond of while in rehab. There was also a note inside it that read...
Jungkook, were so proud of you that you made it this far in your life. We were all scared for you and wanted whats best for you. We hope in the future we will always bring a smile to your face as we play our instruments. We love you Jungkook and we will be here with you until the day we die. - The rest of owlsleep
I read the note at least three times before getting up to form a group hug. I put on the ring and it fit perfectly. I really don't think I would be here without them...more likely her as well. We continued our chatter on random topics and ate our lunch.
I eventually became full and just sat at the table listening to the guys bickering about power rangers. I wasn't really looking at anything particular in the food court but the second I did, my heart skipped a beat. (name) was sitting at a table, at least 7 tables away from us. My smile faded seeing a guy sit next to her , kissing her on the cheek.
I never stopped thinking about ever since that night me and Jaehyun gotten into that argument. I wonder if she knows that im alive...If im..ok? I couldn't just walk up to her after all I said to her. I felt defeated. I guess this was karma doing it's work.
"Kook you ready to go?" Snapping out of my thoughts all the trashed was picked up and Yugyeom was standing there waiting for an answer. I chuckled out of embarrassment. "Yeah.."
We walked out of the food court and I had made no moves. It's what I deserve and I know now, she's happy and relaxed with someone else.
That's all I care about.
Tumblr media
a/n: i hope yall like pt2. somewhat happy ending but it's what kook deserves. yall like the Nana reference ?

Wish was fine, but overall disappointing for a film that is supposed to mark the celebration of 100 years of Disney animation. As much as I love Disney, I can't deny that it did not live up to what it was intended to be. 1) Originally it was to be hand drawn animation & go back to the roots, only to backtrack & do computer animation instead with the argument that they used 2d backdrops so it's the same thing. It’s not. It’s really disappointing to me because Disney has gotten stuck on the animation front. They now seem to look down on hand drawn animation which is ridiculous because people are screaming for a return to that style. I feel like they use their last hand drawn film as an excuse to not create such films anymore because they aren't successful. In reality, they didn't promote those films so people just weren't that aware of them when they were in theaters. This has become a bad habit of Disney. The mixing of animation styles at several points seemed disjointed. Plus, there is the fact that so many other animation studios have been doing mixed animation better & are outpacing Disney in animation development because Disney isn’t really doing anything as new or daring as other studios. I am not saying the animation of the film is bad, in fact, it is still pretty, but Disney/Pixar’s style has remained pretty much the same since the early 2000s. 2nd, Others have discussed this issue & I agree. There was nothing all that interesting about Asha & she certainly isn’t unique because it's pretty much the same personality we’ve seen in the last several years of Disney films. 3rd, Why the hell is the King’s wife even in this movie?! If they weren’t going to go with the original intent of them being almost a crime family duo (which, by the way, it is a travesty they didn't do this idea), just cut her character because she really hindered my seeing Magnifico as an interesting villain. In fact, cut the semi sympathetic backstory. He should’ve been more evil and honestly until Asha’s interference he wasn’t that bad. I would just like a fully evil Disney villain who is a full villain from the get go. He has a Dr. Facilier vibe, which is great, but Disney has & could’ve dug deeper & committed. There was so much potential here. 4th, The songs were mediocre at best and it’s exceedingly obvious that the writers aren’t musical writers. The songs don’t tell a cohesive story or develop character much, and they certainly don’t have much depth, they’re just there. They’re not songs that people are going to be singing. I honestly think that Howard Ashman is rolling over in his grave due to the soundtrack of this movie. 5th,There are way too many characters. Asha’s friends are the most forgettable wastes of time. I get the want to reference Seven Dwarfs but them, plus valentino, plus the star…too many to care. I think it was one reference that could’ve been left behind (it’s not like there weren’t many references to Disney animation throughout to make up for it– because there were TONS). 6th, that is the lamest dress change that Disney has ever done. With so many epic and magical dress changes how is this what they come up with? They literally went, just make what she’s already wearing sparkle and call it a day. Everything being said, I do like the idea of this being the starting point for Disney stories and Asha being the first fairy godmother. That is a great idea and is perfect for this 100 years of Disney animation. It’s just that there were so many things that just did not live up to or respect the history of Disney animation as this film was supposed to do.

So I'm not a huge uber fan of X men, as in not a comic reader
I absorbed all of my knowledge of the series as a baby via the original 1992 animated series, just like I did with 1994 Spider man and then wondered why I seemed to know what was going to happen when I watched both the original spider man and x men movies in the early 2000s
saying that, theres a thought that struck me while watching x men 97
I was talking to a guy about it two days ago and its been ping ponging around in my brain the whole time:
Why are people in the world of X men ok with Super Heros but violently against mutants, which at face value, are the same thing?
My friend I was talking with and I both agreed that it had to be for a single reason:
All the Marvel super heros seen in X men the animated series gained their powers, where as mutants were born with theirs and will most likely have children with said powers.
So the reasoning then is that Captain America and the Hulk aren't threats to the future of humanity because they're "normal" humans who had power thrust onto them via science and may likely not be able to pass that on to their kids?
but heres what really bothered me:
Spider Man
We the audience know that Spider Man got his powers from a dang spider, but fucking the rest of humanity doesn't, right? In the continuity of the x men 92 animated series, which shares the spider man animated 94 series-
............................
........hell I just stopped everything and watched those two x men/spider man cross over episodes and you know what?
Spider Man goes to the Xmen for help because somthing is going fucky with his powers right?
And he FREAKS THE FUCK OUT at being told he might be changing into a mutant. Like this bitch starts screaming about he doesn't want to become freak like all of them and its like
MY BROTHER IN CHRIST YOU ARE THE SAME FUCKING THING, YOU JUST WEREN'T BORN WITH IT
like I can not put enough emphasis on how distraught Peter Parker is at the idea of becoming officially a mutant, as he stands in a room full of mutants who are giving him the stink eye so hard.
so let me finish that first thought I had:
We the audience know that Spider Man got his powers from a dang spider, but fucking the rest of humanity doesn't. They don't know Spider Man (in the 1994 animated series) is Peter Parker, they don't know who he is or how he got his powers.
So I ask, why oh why is spider man not being called a mutant by the public? Like before x men 97 I would have said oh well these are really just two separate franchises that do fun little cross overs but once they aren't they kind of don't exist in each other's world unless the writers want another cameo 4 funsies
but now that 97 has shown Marvel Super Heroes exist in this world alongside mutants, in a world that is absolutely frothing with hate and fear at these genetically enhanced humans with powers unlike that of gods....
Please explain to me like I'm 6 years old why oh WHY aren't these people ALSO frothing with hate and fear at these OTHER super humans with powers unlike that of gods
TELL ME
was this explained at any point in like the last 40 years at all? Why is it ok if Captain America got his power from a serum but not if Rouge was born with hers???
I invite anyone 2 nerd out at me and explain, I want to learn! I want to understand so I can enjoy these franchises more!

Just wanted to say I love your fma 2003 posts. While I do think the original story is more cohesive and stuff, I think that the stuff they did with the 03 show is really interesting and provides a lot of cool angles on the character. It's a completely different story after a certain point with its own merit, and I think that it gives a lot of development to the characters in fascinating ways. I feel like seeing it added depth to my appreciation of the story. There's juicy bits in there that I wish were in the original and I'm just glad they were explored and that I'm not the only one who loves it. :))
sorry i took so late to respond lol
i think the og IS a lot more cohesive and planned out, and more consistent in quality! it's just that i don't think it's much to write home about either. it's a very solid fun shounen and as long as you don't think too deep about its implications, it's definitely a lot better written than 90% of mainstream shounen. and i can see the appeal in that, i genuinely do. i don't think 03 is to everyone's taste, even outside of people for whom og fma is comfort food, for whom even a slight deviation feels Wrong because that's their emotional support anime or whatever. like, i'm a fucking dbz fan always and forever you know? i don't have room to say "why do people enjoy mangahood better, it's so much less mature than 03" bc i still get pumped and emo from super saiyan transformations. i do wish these fans at least would understand WHY one might have frustrations with the themes of the story and what it does with very serious subjects lol
i do think that 03 is its own story but i don't think it's its own story "from a certain point". yes the early anime follows a lot of the manga's story, albeit rearranging it differently. but i'd argue that it's different in essence from the very start. its tone it starkly different from the manga, which is and remains a Cool Mystery Action Shounen. fma 03 from its very first episode leans more into brooding and psychological horror territory, even outside of the extra gore. even the subtle changes it makes early in the story aren't just to change/"improve" or adapt the manga's story, but to set up what they do when 03 REALLY departs from the manga's storyline. ed and al's characters are, i'd argue, leagues away from their og counterparts by ep 10--the flashback and making them go through all that trauma at age 12 really sets up that 15 year old ed isn't a confident shitlord like he is in the og, but a deeply insecure and guilt ridden teenager forced to grow up too fast and hiding his insecurities behind a mask of confidence. al is still kind and polite, but also a lot more ruthless and even more dependent on his brother than the og one is--the sensory deprivation and dysmorphia from the armour is cutting him off from other humans than his brother, and a lot of his own doubts and anguish at his situation begin eating at him to the point that when barry throws out the "you're an artificial person" accusation, al's brain immediately latches onto it because he's been wondering if he's even human for years.
i do think 03 has pits and valleys in terms of quality--but honestly i'm fine with it (bar a few genuinely infuriating decisions such as the transmisogynist serial killer trope in ep 8), it's a 2000s anime that was insanely ambitious and butting against the author and funding, some episodes visibly have a shoestring budget and while it remains thematically consistent you can very clearly see moments/places where the production committe threw in "hey uhhhhhh put in more kimblee he's popular" or "we're not giving you more episodes sorry. wrap it all up in three". do i wish a more consistent version of the show existed, meticulously planned out and with all the time and money in the world they needed existed? yes. would that version have been perfect? not necessarily tbh!
but really, 03 has a number of strong decisions and genuinely genius twists on the og that make it very hard for me to come back to the fma manga without feeling deeply underwhelmed. i like greedling so, so much--i just don't like him enough to not feel really bitter about how lust is treated in the manga. i genuinely love the scene where ed swears he'll get al's body's back at the gate, 10/10 shounen scene--but also, there's the scene ed happily tells al that after digging up their mom's body it turns out the transmutation they did had nothing to do with their mom, and every time i'm like "this is so stupid and i wish they'd kept the failed transmutation homonculi". the absolute heights of fma as a manga never ever manage to hit nearly as strongly to me as 03's does, because og fma will always feel just..... lacking in ambition and in depth, where imo in some aspects fma 03 still hasn't been outdone. where can i find something like the 03's homonculi? how many narratives are there that celebrate a character like scar instead of playing the trope of the Well Meaning Extremist Who Kicks A Puppy? this is a real question btw send them to me immediately i need them.

Intersex Terry Mcginnis
Because I've seen fantastic non-binary Terry from @theycallme-ook and their series, I've seen this gorgeous transmasc Terry from this fic, crown of neon, and @jasontoddssuper with their transfem Butch Terry agenda and hot damn is it great.
(btw using he/him for Terry because that's what the show did.)
Whatever he is, he cisn't.
This is all in the name of trying to incorporate the VERY late game (I truly mean last episode with him ever so it never impacts any other plot just a wrap up theme and thesis statement on Heroism) twist and have it inform his whole - teenage attitude and everything.
so. uh. let's dive.
General warning for intersexism, queer phobia, messing with gender and such. Divorce. Cadmus manipulating people. The violation of consent that's inherent in making someone give birth to and raise a child designed to be a legacy vigilante without them knowing.
Genetic alteration isn't all that it's cracked up to be. It's DNA testing, it's virus loads and constant correction, it's incorporating extra violet genes into flowers and them rejecting them completely and going blank white.
I know it's the DCAU, with Manbat being the first episode, animal chimeras being created all throughout but, fantastic science that let the plot move but. It was the 90s and the early 2000s. on our side the human genome project started in 1985, was partially complete in 2003, and only fully completed in 2022! Cadmus is cutting it close.
there's a lot of room for error, here.
The alterations done to Warren's DNA were sketchy at best. Lots of sperm failed after the nano machines got to them. It was difficult for Mary and Warren to conceive, which is why Terry and Matt are so far apart in age. That put stress on their relationship, not including that the kids don't even look like Warren either.
Mary and Warren were very happy that Terry came to term without major problems. He wasn't visibly intersex until he was born, but because it's the Future TM, they ran the DNA to screen for any major disorders. Terry comes out chimera style intersex, with different DNA depending on where you take the sample. His hormones are giving him a mix of traits that make him ambiguous.
((yeah this is specific but shush: Terry can't naturally grow a beard. (Not like he wants to, he's heard his mom complain too many times about his dad's face bristles to be excited about getting his own.) People generally do a double take with him. "I ate my sister in the womb." Is the snappy answer he likes to give. "she left me with some things."))
The Future is a little more forgiving, there's some paperwork and not much pressure for the parents to put him through infant surgery.
And then we get to Matt. Because Terry was difficult, the parents sought out a fertility clinic to get Matt as good a start as possible.
Terry is angry at first, that he's a genetic mess and they had to go to a clinic to get a "real boy". That they tried to have a "good kid" but it couldn't fix their relationship. That even Matt didn't turn out right; A "clerical error" gives Matt an "anonymous donor" as a father instead of Warren.
It's building up with bunch of smaller things - having to explain their gender every so often, being confused with older buildings with split gender bathrooms and teachers treating him different depending on his perceived gender.
It was clear that the grace period ran out. He just - was given an ultimatum. Guy or girl. There's also some manipulation on Cadmus's part - can't be Batman without being a man...right?
and It's Gotham. Having a healthy vision of masculinity is not going to happen. So to protect himself Terry decides to be a Guy. A Real Cool Guy.
But it's not clicking. He's not comfortable. His parents tell him that he can be "whatever kind of man he wants" but that's still vague.
All this gender identity frustration builds up with his general teenage "pushing boundaries" and "parents arguing" leads him to hang with the wrong crowds.
and that's how he lands in juvie. He ends up calming down, putting himself into a box of "reformed good bad boy" and "I'm committing to the bit." and just dealing. Being a man like Warren is trying to teach him and not just...staying an unknown variable.
Now we incorporate Neo Batman and Bruce. Who have a very strict set of rules about what or who Batman is meant to be. And in a way, it's freeing his head to think about who Terry is outside of the cowl. Bruce is also a Queer Elder, he's seen plenty of people work through their identities and he works with Terry to find a label that fits.
That it doesn't have to be all or nothing, that it can change over time.
Experimentation is expected of teenagers. Splicing is a flat no because of his already precarious genetic status. And Terry likes hanging with his girls that are friends and his girlfriend. He does a mean eyeliner too. Terry is a lot happier.
Mary sighs "is this some late teenage rebellion against your father?"
"I...really don't know what he'd think. This isn't a spite thing. But I don't think he did - or you did anything wrong. It just took me some time to get out of my own head and realize."
"Well. You look settled. He'd be proud of you."
"Thanks ma."

carl and lydia hcs bcus i love the friendship i made up for them in my head
- carl is one of the first people to grow close to lydia, wanting to give her a chance like he did with michonne all those years ago
- carl forces michonne to let lydia stay with them to 'protect her' but rly he just wants to hang out with her more
- he tries to reach lydia how to write but his handwriting is ATROCIOUS (canon), lydia doesn't really notice so she also learns how to write and her handwriting is also atrocious
- carl teaches her how to read through comic books, they spend hours pouring over them together so she can learn and eventually lydia can read full on novels, but sometimes carl still reads to her
- carl is the reason why lydia figures out she's a lesbian and what it all means, after carl tells her that he's gay and dating ron
- they both love the rain, and if it's raining in alexandria you WILL find them outside just like playing in the rain or sitting on the curb talking
- lydia and carl both had their childhoods taken from them, and when they're together they find themselves reclaiming childhood again
- carl can cook, lydia can bake.
- carl carves lydia little figurines of animals out of wood for her and she loves them, she has shelves full of them.
- carl introduces her to his music taste, which is a lot of early 2000's emo and 80s/90s punk/goth music and a bunch of indie shit, lydia loves it
- lydia and carl get stuck on babysitting duty but they don't mind, lydia loves judith and rj and they love her too, they treat her like just another kid
- a lot of late night conversations in weird places, like the hayloft of the barn, the roof on the house, even in the empty jail cell, they always seem to know where to find each other
- carl talks to lydia about his dad, alot, sometimes he feels like he can't talk abt him to the people who knew him, but with lydia he can, and lydia loves to hear abt him
- they're both autistic. enough said
- carl helps lydia truly piece together her memories of early childhood and then brings her things that she remembers fondly, like some stuffed animals because she used to have a big collection, makes dinners she remembers enjoying
- carl goes nonverbal a lot, lydia less so, but they learn sign language to be able to communicate when one of them doesn't talk, which also has the added benefit of talking to kelly, who becomes a fast friend
- lydia likes bugs, like a lot, carl is more of an animal guy, and they trade facts with each other while hunting
- no one rly understands their friendship or how they're so close, they barely get it either, but it doesn't really matter to them
- they're in a queer platonic relationship and they don't even know it
- after michonne leaves carl shuts down for a while, too stressed knowing he's leading a community and taking care of his siblings, lydia is the one to bring him back to end the whisperer war
- when the whole commonwealth thing goes down they live in a one bedroom with jude and rj and all have to share mattresses, but carl and lydia work their asses off to get them a better place to live happily
- they are GLUED to each others side, if carl goes lydia goes, and if lydia goes carl goes, they have both lost so much that they can't bare to be apart
- they share clothes, neither of them know how this started but once they're in the commonwealth they barely have separate wardrobes anymore.
- one time lydia stole a shirt from him that ended up being his dad's shirt that he took with him, and he expected to be mad, but he never told her
- they are THEE baddest duo, like they can both kickass and really are not afraid of doing so, carl is more quick to violence than lydia is, but once she gets there she can get brutal too
- neither of them are particularly brutal though unless they are threatening the other one or judith & rj
- after everything calms down they go back to alexandria and take almost everyone from the kingdom, hilltop and alexandria with them, carl leads alexandria in his parents absence and lydia accidentally becomes his second in command
- they go on vacations to oceanside together all the time, they both love swimming and the beach, collecting sea shells and glass, fishing in the ocean and playing with the kids
- they learn to use bows together, but carl is much more of a sharpshooter and lydia loves her bo staff from henry
- carl definitely lets lydia braid his hair
- when they lived in the commonwealth and shared a mattress lydia would kick him in his sleep OFTEN
- carl if a blanket hog and runs cold and lydia runs hot like a furnace, she doesn't mind not having blankets but she still wakes him up and forces him to give them back because she's petty
- carl taught lydia how to ride a bike and lydia taught carl how to skin a rabbit (he hated it)
- carl makes knives, much like in the comics, and lydia tests them out for him, if you don't know where to find carl you can probably find him in the blacksmith studio, and you'll also find lydia there, talking about nothing
- they really could talk for hours about nothing
- lydia tells him abt the whisperers a lot, because she knows she can trust him with all of her conflicting feelings of what it was like
- carl tells lydia about everyone he has known before and lost, about his life before, she likes hearing abt lori and his friends, she was fascinated that they had lived in a prison
- carl's immune, and when lydia was almost bit trying to save elijah carl took the bite for her, and he survived, even though it was the most tense few days for the entire group, waiting for him to turn
- lydia didn't believe when he said he was immune, thought that maybe a rogue whisperer had bitten him before, and she was by his side the entire time comforting him even though carl was like 'dude i'm not gonna die'
- lydia was the one who gave carl the idea for wearing sunglasses with one lense popped out to cover his eye, but carl mostly goes without covering it in the comfort of his community, as none of them are scared of him
- lydia and carl have matching scars on their arms from an attack by a smaller group on one of their runs
that's all i've got for now but i'm sure there's more coming soon 🫡

In honor of the books I picked up today that I ordered a week ago (finally got more kimi ni todoke!!), what series of manga can you see some of our haikyuu favs reading? Or if not manga what kinds of books can you see them reading, YA, thriller, mystery, etc. Feel free to pick whomever you want for hcs, I humbly ask for Tanaka thou <3
A/N: Look at you getting two answered in one day, it's like you own my ask box at this point bestie lmao but yes I have so many vibes for this one, okay <3
TAGS: manga/reading headcanons, fluff, general
CHARACTERS: Tendou Satori, Tanaka Ryuunosuke, Kenma Kozume, honourable mentions at the end
TENDOU SATORI
Okay so we know he used to collect shonen jump magazine when it was around in a physical form. I say he was a subscription owner who would get each issue.
He strikes me as the kind of guy who likes collecting things. Especially artsy types things like his movies. Especially in physical form so his shonen jumps are no different.
He's a constant but casual reader in terms of what he keeps up with in terms of series.
By that I mean he's not like 'OMG I NEED TO READ ALL OF ONE PIECE I'LL BE SO UPSET IF I MISS ONE CHAPTER.' Absolutley not. He's a casual One Piece fan. I know it seems like they don't exist because once you're in you're in BUT HE IS.
He enjoys reading it, don't get me wrong, it's just he's not tearing the issue open for the next chapter.
Tendou's an allrounder with his reading. Will try everything in the issue. Really liked The Disastrous Life of Saiki K the year it was published! He just vibed hard with it.
With Shonen Jump, he's collected it forever so he's read all the early 2000's classics like Naruto, Bleach and Death Note. He watches the anime too.
Outside of the shonen jump I feel like the only manga he would go out of his way to purchase and read would be something of the horror vein because he's a horror fan.
The first time he went into a manga store and saw the covers of the Junji Ito works he HAD to know what they were about. Started with one and ended up collecting them all.
Still prefers watching horror and thrillers over reading them. There's just something more satisfying about cinematic terrors BUT he does enjoy his small collection of manga too.
He just over all prefers reading manga to chill out. Which is why his go to is more the popular shonen series.
Tendou is pretty good with recs too! If you handed him a romance and told him it was the best series in the world and he had to read it he would. He doesn't care, you like it so why wouldn't he? It's just not something he would usually pick up for himself.
He's pretty good at recommending things too. If you're unsure he'll just hand you a shonen jump mag and tell you to go nuts. Just don't read the ads like Ushiwaka please, he can't handle another one. lmao.
Hanging out with Tendou as teens reading manga together would honestly be the best lowkey date every. Just vibing in each others company. Probably watching anime together after too.
TANAKA RYUUNOSUKE
I see Tanaka as more of a manga reader too over anything lengthy like novels. He just doesn't have the discipline to sit there and read for long periods of time.
This is why studying is so hard for him! He just gets bored! Would rather be doing something where he can move around.
Definitely doesn't mind picking up a manga every now and again though.
Now as for what he reads. Well. Here's the things. He's actually a real softy at heart and a sucker for romance.
How does he discover this? Totally by accident, he swears.
He went in to pick up a couple shonen series and the shonen jump issue (he doesn't have a subscription he just picks it up on occassion) and the cashier accidentally mixed up a shoujo series into the bag that was on the counter on the side.
Tanaka didn't realise until he got home and for some reason he just never bothered returning it. He had paid for it after all. He might as well read it.
The thing is once he did, he couldn't put it down! He had to read another and another. He was hooked. And what was this serious? Well guess what it was also Kimi ni Todoke!
That gets him hooked on Shoujo romances and has him going in buying more series. He buys one for every two shonen series he gets, hiding it under them at the casier mentally telling them 'They're totally for my sister.' as if they can read his mind.
Doesn't get too embarassed if you ask him about it though it's just an awkward flush of the cheeks and 'Yeah, I like them.' Because Tanaka is one to stay true to himself.
Okay but because he reads a lot of it he kind of gets real sappy ideas about romance and dating.
All those ideas about being a gentlemen? Carrying your bad, walking on the side of the sidewalk closest to the road, standing in front of you during confrontations? All further reinforced by reading those manga.
Has a cute little blushy face when he reads the confession scenes too. Hopes to be that cool when he confesses on day.
If you like manga he really likes sharing that with you. Going to bookstores together, he vibes on just watching you browse with a content look on your face.
Will buy you anything you want. Even if its a whole stack. Tanaka is slamming those bills down and paying. Anything to make you happy and see that smile on your face.
KENMA KOZUME
Kenma started reading and collecting manga when his parents forced him to have a hobby other than gaming. Something about resting his eyes from screens.
He did already sort of like reading manga anyway. Was into series like the legend of zelda because of the game. Also collects the standard shonen jump series like one piece, hunter x hunter and naruto too.
The thing about Kenma is he started out with the popular stuff and then he branched out and collected a bit of everything the more he read.
He has a bit of everything from each demographic. Has your Sailormoon, Fruits basket and NANA from your shoujo. Josei like Chihayafuru, shonen/seinin like JoJo's bizarre adventure, fullmetal alchemist, AOT, Gintama, Tokyo Ghoul.
As time goes on he'll collect ones like Given, I hear the sunspot and Blue Flag too.
Likes going to art stalls and places he can collect fan djs and art books too. Isn't really big on chit chat but will say a sweet 'I like your work.' Then pays and scurries off with a little happy face.
Like buying work of his favourite games and characters at the same time. Especially at conventions. Hates the crowds but finds this worth it.
Appreciates being able to do these things with you. Bonus if you like doing them too. If you simply go just to be with him he'll just swoon lol.
Back to the manga. He likes the anime adaptions too but doesn't always get a lot of time to watch them. Prefers games after all. If he does though he prefers to watch the anime after he's read the manga.
Loves watching the anime as a way to spend time with you though after you both have read the manga. Loves being able to compare and criticise it together. Just cuddling and vibing.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Reads books/manga: Semi Eita, Kuroo Tetsurou, Yamaguchi Tadashi, Yaku Morisuke
Reads manga: Hinata Shouyou, Atsumu Miya, Kunimi Akira, Hoshiumi Korai, Nishinoya Yuu, Kindaichi Yuutarou
Reads books: Sugawara Koushi, Yachi Hitoka, Oikawa Tooru, Kita Shinsuke
Reads food packaging and social media: Kageyama Tobio, Suna Rintarou, Kiyoko Shimizu

IDEAS FOR A HYPOTHETICAL BOY MEETS WORLD REBOOT
Tumblr media
So, recently I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’d have done a Boy Meets World reboot if given the opportunity and enough creative control and freedom.
Tumblr media
First, let’s start with the things that would be still kept from the original without getting into too much spoilers:
- Cory and Shawn’s bromance. Duh, it’s the main reason why a big majority of people keep coming back to BMW. It wouldn’t be BMW without it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Topanga being a girl that Cory initially thinks it’s weird, but eventually starts to like her, and finally becomes his girlfriend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Shawn coming from a less economically stable and more dysfunctional family that lives in a trailer park, and whose parents like to “go away from time to time”, to put it mildly AND kindly. Because of this, he has tons of issues and thinks he won’t get anywhere in life.
- Chet, Shawn's father, being unhappily married to a woman named Virna, whom Shawn believes is his mother, but who actually isn’t, something that Shawn doesn’t find out until much later, with Shawn’s biological mother being a sex worker he has never met.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Eric being Cory’s older brother, who initially seems like a vain, self-centered teenager, more concerned with being popular and chasing skirts than his grades or his little brother. Don’t worry, he’ll get better after character development.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Mr. Feeny being both Cory’s teacher and his next door neighbor, initially seeming like an old-fashioned fun-hating teacher who thinks of the Matthews brothers as nothing more than just two of the many troubled students that will come and go. Ofc like with Eric character development would do its magic again, with each character’s arc mirroring the other.
- Also Feeny being able to find love after he realizes it’s never too late to find a significant other, when he initially believed he was too old to do so.
- And don’t worry, ofc Eric would do the Feeny call. Like with Cory and Shawn's bromance, It wouldn’t be Boy Meets World if it wasn’t there.
Tumblr media
- Mr. Turner as the younger, seemingly cooler teacher who would take care of Shawn after Chet basically abandons him, and becomes a substitute parental figure for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Shawn having a long lost older half-brother named Jack, who comes from a wealthier background and becomes Eric’s roommate and friend when they start to go to college.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Angela as a girl whose lost purse is found by Shawn, who while looking for its owner tries to deduce their personality based on what’s inside of it, which causes him to start to fantasize about meeting this girl whose name he doesn’t know and falling in love with her. And then once he finally meets her in person, starting his first serious relationship with her.
- Angela’s father being a sergeant, and her mother having walked out on them when Angela was younger, which caused her a lot of issues too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now let’s go with the things that would make it different from the original, starting with the stylistic and aesthetic choices:
- Instead of taking place in the second half of the 90s like the original show, it would take place from the mid-2000s to early 2010s, which was the time when most people who were born when the original Boy Meets World aired for the first time went from middle school to college, just like Cory & friends during the series.
- It would be animated instead of live-action. Why? Because I want to. Joking aside, I think animation would allow the show to introduce some elements in a much more natural way.
- It won’t have a laugh track like the original did, unless it’s an episode or gag that pays homage or parodies sitcoms from a previous decade. This one is kind of a given, because laugh tracks have gone out of school in recent years, but I still felt it would be necessary to mention it jic.
- And here comes the element that won’t be the biggest departure from the original, but probably the most puzzling one. It would have musical numbers. As in characters dancing and singing. At the beginning it won’t be a lot, as a reflection of Cory’s and Shawn’s attitude towards the idea of singing, but as they start to become more and more comfortable, there would be more. Some would be diegetic, others won’t.
And now to the plot and characters-related differences with the original. Buckle up people, because it will be a lot.
Tumblr media
- First a significant change in Cory’s family dynamic. Instead of the show starting with Cory living in the typical nuclear family, it would start with Cory living in the suburbs with his mother Amy, a widow who works a white collar job, and Eric. Then Amy would start to date an employee in the store where she usually buys groceries, who would be Alan, who’d be only slightly younger than Amy and a widower with two kids too: a son with the same age as Cory’s who’s also Cory’s classmate, and a younger daughter who would be Morgan (but I’m seriously thinking about renaming her Megan). Amy and Alan would eventually get married, with a lot of the comedy and the drama from the first seasons coming from Cory trying to adapt to the new situation.
(Amy’s previous husband and Eric and Cory’s biological father would be dead, just like Alan’s previous wife)
Tumblr media
- One in regards to Cory’s physical appearance: He would still have curly hair, but he would be a redhead with his nose and cheeks full of freckles.
Tumblr media
- Instead of the show starting when Cory and his friends are in their last year of elementary school, the show would start the last summer before Cory’s first year of junior high, and follow him up until college like the original show (yk, if it doesn’t get canned by then). Also Feeny won’t be able to magically be their teacher from preschool to college. Instead he would be their History Teacher in high school, and in later seasons, eventually the principal of the high school Cory and his friends attend. And he would retire after Cory’s classroom graduates.
- There would be a long character arc about Cory trying to find his passion and eventually finding his passion in the most unexpected places. Initially he would try to join the school basketball team In high school Cory would initially try to join the basketball team, partially because he likes the sport, partially because his father was a star player in high school. (Sidenote: there would also be a recurring gag of Eric being a god awful basketball player) He’s initially rejected because he’s too short, but after he grows up and finally hits puberty, becoming as tall as Shawn, he would still be considered a mediocre player at best, and eventually Cory would have to accept the fact he’s not that good. Meanwhile, he would also join the school newspaper and the audiovisuals club because of a growing interest in journalism, until he realizes he wants to become a professional journalist.
- Talking about the audiovisuals club, extracurricular activities would play a much bigger role. While Cory joins the audiovisuals club Shawn is forced to join the theater club. There would be a little conflict because both clubs have so few members that, because of budgetary restrictions, they’re threatened to be shut down. To save both, Cory and Shawn come up with the idea of combining them, that way making one club with enough members. Also thanks to being in those clubs  they start to befriend classmates they initially thought of as nerds and weirdos.
Tumblr media
- Topanga would be raised by a single mother instead of a married couple, never knowing who her father is. Although she initially seems okay with it, then when she’s older she tries to find out which one of her mother’s three ex-boyfriends is her father. This is partially to pay homage to the fact that in the original BMW Topanga’s father was played by three different actors at different points of the show, and partially to make a bunch of break the fourth wall jokes about ripping off Mamma Mia’s premise. And don’t worry, Nebula won’t be retconned out of existence this time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Jack’s backstory would be changed a little. When his mother finally left Chet, instead of taking her son with her, Jack would actually be left behind in the trailer park with Chet and his newborn half-brother (Shawn’s birth would actually be the last straw that finally made Jack’s mother decide to leave for good). So Jack would spend a good part of his childhood in the trailer park taking care of Shawn, until he became old enough to successfully run away to live with his mother, being Shawn now the one left behind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- And behold my Jeric shippers, because Jack and Eric would be both canonically bisexual AND end up together. Besides Jack Eric would also have another main male love interest, who’d be Mitchell Davis (yes, that Mitchell Davis), who would’ve known Eric since they were kids but who now goes to another school, the same as Jack’s. He would also live in the same trailer park as Shawn does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Lauren won’t be the girl Cory cheated on Topanga with, but instead the first girl he dates after Topanga leaves for the first time. Because despite liking Lauren, Cory concludes he’s dating her to forget Topanga, in other words, for the wrong reasons, so he breaks up with her. Besides, Lauren would go to the same school as Jack and Mitchell (everything’s connected).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- A seemingly very trivial detail: As a trademark favorite food Cory would love pizza so much that the place where he hangs out with his friends after school wouldn’t be Chubbie’s (although it would still exist in this universe, but it would more of a general place where John Adams High students hang out instead of just Cory’s group of friends), but instead a pizza place. Also this last one is a little bit anecdotal, but Cory wouldn’t mind pineapple pizza while Shawn would hate it by principle.
(this is getting quite lengthy, so I’d do a part II. There’s still a lot of ideas I have that I want to share with the BMW fandom)
Edit: Part II is already out. Go check it out

Round 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under Cut
Kairi
kairi is the third protagonist of the kingdom hearts series and the third member of the destiny trio, alongside fan favorites sora and riku. sora/riku shippers HATE kairi, and will go out of their way to discount her at every turn. the hate for her ranges from typical "she's a boring bitch" to fans of soriku making five-hour long video essays reassuring their fellow shippers that the big bad kairi won't show up in the next installment – to quote one video, "she's in a box. she's on the shelf. four walls, no door." kairi is the greatest bogeyman the soriku fandom has ever known, to the point where most of said video essays and fanon meta posts focus not on why sora and riku should get together, but rather on why they don't like kairi.
Literally has a 100+ page Google doc fan theory writing her out of the narrative and putting all of her (few) canonical accomplishments onto half of the popular m/m ship (soriku). Don't even get me started on how her memory was completely written out of the canon plot of re:coded. KH is a nightmare to explain so dude trust me she is THE victim of yaoi
She is so fundamental to the plot and themes and narratives of game and yet it is near impossible to find anything about her thats not ship bashing pre-mlm with the other two characters. I dont even care if she ends up with one of the main characters i just want fans to see her as a cool character to love or like, anything other than “annoying comphet girl.” You can write your mlm but pleaae stop inventing comphet where it doesnt exist. She does not even get to spend time with sora ever?? Why does everyone see her as a threat and a thing to destroy?? Let her have friends so help me
Misa Amane
she gets treated in-canon the way fandoms treat female characters that Threaten an m/m ship. it's like, "oh why don't you go sit in the corner and be pretty, misa, while the Men have intelligent conversation and pretend they aren't ten seconds from fucking each other, doesn't that sound nice?" it's infuriating. and MAYBE it's better now but i remember her getting treated the same way in fanfiction too, like we all need to do just as badly by our female secondary characters as fucking tsugumi ohba, but with the added insult of making her be alternately oblivious of the relationship between light and L or actively trying to sabotage it—incompetently, of course, because god forbid misa be allowed dignity or moments of cleverness.
she's one of the first characters I think of when I consider old school fandom misogyny.
Of course, she was reduced to villain status by the fandom and anime alike because she got in the way of the supposed romance in their psychological horror anime.

Did you have a nickname and is it still used? Gigi! all you nice people and some of my friends call me that when they're being cute
What did you want to be when you'd grow up? I wanted to be an artist when i was really young, then i wanted to be a writer a lot of elementary/middle school, then i kept my options open through highshcool and last minute decided to go to architecture school and it was a very very good gut decision and in a way im an artist, fanfic writer, and soon to be licensed architect, best of all worlds!

Your favourite TV show: zoboomafoo !!!! fucking loved that guy!
Your favourite book: I had this book when i was a kid called Millions of Cats which was kind of a fucked up story and I would be very interested to see someone analyze what that book says about love. I also really liked Too Big bc look how cute the coloring is !

my mom had the elite early 2000s music taste; amy winehouse, tracy chapman, dolly parton, green day, the chicks, tina turner, smashing pumpkins, spice girls, alanis morissette, jack johnson, Lauren hill, so good, I still listen to them all today
And lastly, tell me something you did as a kid that your parents still don't know about:
I used to cut pieces of my hair periodically with the kitchen scissors but it wasnt like super noticeable so my mom was just like i really cant figure out why your hair grows like this
I also took the bus by myself a couple times when i was wayy to young to but it was a really simple bus system so i just got on and went to town and took it back, idk seems like it worked out okay!
what about you? @juliakayyy @krysmiss @darlingian @gallavichroom @vintagelacerosette

Regarding accusations against Mo Willems
UPDATE: @sheepinthebigcity just informed me that Gerard Way didn't claim that he made SITBC, but rather came up with an idea for his own show (The Breakfast Monkey) when he was working on SITBC. While my points against the claims that he made SITBC still stand, the ones that suggest that Gerard made the claims himself are not true and I will no longer stand by them. As a result, this post has been edited to take the blame off him. I would like to apologize for this fuck up and to Gerard Way personally.
Just today, I have saw some people on Twitter/X make the claim that Gerard Way had created Sheep in the Big City and Mo Willems stole the idea for it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: The names had been covered because I DO NOT want them getting harassed.
These claims are false and I have evidence to disprove it:
Evidence #1 - The Pitch
Tumblr media
Source (See Page 17):
If Gerard really made SITBC then why would he ask Mo Willems, of all people, to make a whole pitch for him to pitch to Cartoon Network, despite him claiming that he only pitched it to Mo? The only thing that ties this up is when Gerard says this in an interview for art school students:
"I pitched this to a single individual. Like I'm sitting there, doing all the voices and he's loving it, he's losing it. You know, he's just, you know, he really wants us get this thing made. So I agreed to allow them the rights to shop this thing around, which you often have to do because like I can't call Cartoon Network, like they can."
Source (See 19:02-19:26):
youtube
Even then, there is no evidence that backs up this claim. In addition, what evidence that does exist that involves Gerard was him helping to work on Sheep in the Big City as well as being an intern at Cartoon Network at the time. None of which said that he had the idea.
As an intern at Cartoon Network before starting his band, Way worked on the animated show “Sheep In The Big City,” earning $50 a week. “It was really hard to eat,” he says “I was working eight hours a day and I was the photocopy dude.”
Source:
Evidence #2 - Concepts
The concepts of the show, even without the pitch for it, disproves Gerard's whole claim about creating Sheep in the Big City and that Mo Willems stole it.
For one thing, there is a whole pile of concept art made back in 1998 drawn by Mo Willems, not a single one made by Gerard, that Mr. Warburton found and uploaded on his blog:
Secondly, in the interview, Gerard never explains any concept or actual ideas for Sheep in the Big City, not a single one, when he was making his claim. Mo Willems, on the other hand, did provide some concepts and ideas, not only the ones that made SITBC for what it is, but also ones that never made it, in various interviews back in the 2000s.
Not once did these interviews ever bring up Gerard Way creating or even having the idea of SITBC in any way.
"If only a few people on Twitter/X are talking about it, then why do you feel the need to make this post?"
You see, I cannot let this pile of misinformation spread around and get into Mo's personal life.
This was NOT made as a harassment campaign against Gerard Way nor the people who believe in these claims, but rather to prove that Mo Willems did create SITBC and is innocent.
Please share this around if you can.

So the original pitch bible for Transformers Prime was revealed, its prototypical stage was called Robots in Disguise funnily enough, and I’m mixed on what I’ve seen.
Let’s be clear, Prime is ok, but I’ve always found it bland. Flash over substance, best remembered for being gritty and violent with little to say outside of that becoming a forced amalgam of what came before, while its true saving grace being it got Peter Cullen and Frank Welker back on TV in their best known roles. It never knew what it wanted to be, and it’s why I preferred RiD15 since, while far more “kiddy”, I respect a show that at least knows what it is sincere about it.
With that in mind, the concept art oddly feels more cohesive than Prime. The general gist was pretty unabashedly Bayformers: The Animated Series and to a degree I’m surprised they didn’t just do that with NEST, Sam & Mikayla instead of trying to make douchebag hacker Spike a thing.
Indeed, Spike was originally meant as the lead human, described as a rebellious hacker seeking the truth, and one day discovers a Transformer. While there’s no design drawn, reference photos use what looks like stereotypical teens from the 2000’s, ranging from a skateboarder to a grungy emo teen that reminds me of douchebag SM3 Peter with the symbiote. Going by the description and visuals, Spike was evidently split apart into Jack, Raf and Miko, which might explain why they never worked… at least to me. They became a fragment of Spike’s original personality and never fully grew beyond that, when keeping them a single character might’ve been far more interesting.
It appears NEST inspired TASK, no idea what it stands for, but they were similarly a military unit aligned with the Autobots. A female love interest was sketched out, though frankly with how masculine the sketch looks, I keep thinking it’s a guy. Sort of the reverse TF Zone Akira (looks like a girl, is actually a dude). Frankly I say keep the military person a love interest and make ’em a dude: let’s get Akira and Cain up in here with it lol. (I know they weren’t officially a couple, but I still think it’s funny. Plus a version of Spike with a boyfriend could be fun as something different.)
Anyhow, a big emphasis was humanity joining the fight, as well as how they’d react to the TF’s Great War. This didn’t really make it into the final product beyond Prime and RiD’s over fixation on hiding the robots (when in both cases it was becoming increasingly hard to believe people didn’t see anything or just shrugged it off. Though RiD at least had some funny bits poking fun at this I liked.) TASK was basically NEST, and in some cases was just one letter away from just becoming MASK. …Which leads into the toy aspect.
I think had they played their cards right with this early pitch, they could’ve had Autobots, Decepticons, and TASK/MASK transforming vehicles. A huge emphasis was placed on Optimus having specialized trailers, all seemingly based on the Armada and Prime Force drones from Energon to some extent. There was the base trailer that unfolded into a military platform for Autobots and humans to use, a drill trailer for Energon mining, a submarine trailer for water missions, I think I saw a jet trailer, and a tank trailer. It appears they could all Transform to some extent, even becoming armor for other characters to combine with. They evoke the later Cyberverse Spark Armor vehicle combinations with a dash of ROTF Jet Optimus, so the concept made it out just not in Proto-Prime lol.
There was also a proposed Energon Weapon gimmick that strongly resembles the RB style Energon Tools gimmick, so presumably it too got repurposed.
Curiously there’s a LOT of concept art of the Autobots in underwater missions, wearing armor that resembles the submarine armor TFA Bumblebee toy. One concept art drawing features a giant robot manta-fish guy, who I’m assuming was a Seacon or a Sharkticon of some sort. The later TFP prequel stuff that did get made involves an adventure on Aquatron, with Megatron becoming a liberator of the Sharkticons, so I guess that’s where that came from? Megatron even got a Sharkticon inspired toy to boot. I suppose it’s ironic we have all this water business but no one thought to include guys like Sea Spray (and NOT kill him off screen). The robot designs were all over the place. A lot of art mostly uses stylized G1 designs, but the proposed designs were a stronger hybrid of the movies and G1, as opposed to what we got which was purely movie inspired with a dash of Animated. It’s funny to me that after years of praise for Prime’s art style, upon seeing the concept art, it’s now ok to absolutely dunk on Prime. Megatron is the stand out for many, being a hybrid of his WFC, body, his Cybertron Mode Animated body and his Revenge of the Fallen bodies. His vehicle mode was a tank, instead of the first Bayformer space jet thing. He also had what I think might have been a battle axe on his back. It’s definitely cooler than what we got, and I get a strong sense it might crop up as a toy in a future Concept Art Studio Series release. The other designs I think got repurposed though. Bee’s design looks to be what eventually became RiD15, CV and ES Bee, Starscream became RiD15 Screamer, Soundwave’s Earth Mode became RiD15 and CV Soundwave. I genuinely believe RiD15 was where some of these designs were saved lol. Optimus was pry the more G1 looking, with the look possibly influencing his CV and RBA bodies. Soundwave had an alternate design that was his ROTF design, but with Fixit’s wheel feet. I personally hate this look, buts pretty clear ROTF Soundwave was still a huge influence for what became the final and genuinely popular TFP Soundwave design. Ironhide was one of the main Autobots along with Ratchet, both being heavily influenced by their Movie selves, like what would’ve happened with TFA Ironhide and TFA Ratchet. I suppose the funny thing is the Ironhide design made it through, becoming Kup in the American release but staying Ironhide in the Japanese release. Still, the designs were very rough, and as much as people seem to be more for them, they’re too busy and are still clearly finding a balance in what they wanted. I think had they refined it a bit more we could’ve had the perfect Godzilla: The Animated Series equivalent to the original Bayformers. Alas we got Prime, while well intentioned was a show that coasted hard on being dark and gritty, shackled to continued unpopular modern ideas that’s only held TF down than uplift it. I think at the very least EarthSpark is a better version of Prime’s ideas even if I don’t agree with its execution.
