I love how much Sarada just basically loves and respects Naruto as a person. Like it was programmed into Sasuke’s genes and he unknowingly passed it on to his child and it got triggered in Sarada just by Naruto being the kind, loving, empathetic person that he is. Sasuke is looking at his kid who’s practically fawning over Naruto and he’s like “same kiddo”. I will carry this fact into every version of them that I write. Just Sarada basically just gushing about how awesome Naruto is after every interaction they have and while Sasuke is a bit emotionally stunted and unsure of how to be a father this is one similarity he has with child that he can absolutely use to bond over with her.

“um, yea, sorry i’ll be right back, you guys can sit over there if you want.” you say as you start to walk towards a hallway.

the three of them went to sit where you told them, flinching when they heard a loud yell.

she takes a glance at you, only to see you quietly laughing to yourself.

you start to walk towards your room. “i’m gonna go check on hyunseo.”

“okay.” wonyoung replies before going back to talking to sakura.

you turn around, catching chaewon’s eyes again, you wink at her, before you head towards leeseo’s room.

chaewon feels like her face is on fire, she turns her head, only to see sakura smirking at her.

kid/academy/pre-genin Sakura Haruno fic recs

To be honest, there aren't many kid or academy Sakura fics out there, at least that I can find, and most of which are actually time travel AUs. Now, the tricky thing with it is that most of those tend to start where Sakura is quite young, but by the end of the story she is a genin. So, it gives me the difficult decision of whether of not I should include those on this list (I haven't decided).

Anyway, the other difficult aspect of fanfiction about a young Sakura is the writing itself. There has to be a good balance of childishness and eloquence to ensure that the writing is not just truthful to the character, but that it also flows with the story. These are some of the ones I like!

While attending the Academy, Sakura's field experience assignment with the Konohagakure Intelligence Division ends up being more valuable than she'd ever guess.

Sakura lands herself working in Torture & Intelligence??? From the very beginning Sakura has been pegged as a "paper ninja" where she is constantly praised for her intelligence, so Satori (Between the Lines) is academy Sakura putting these skills to use. Super good read and includes characters we don't normally get to see in fics!

Time Flies Like An Arrow is probably the most interesting take on a time travel AU I have ever read. Sakura ends up going back in time to when she is 4 years old and not even in the academy. The only thing is, she has no clue that this is the second time she's living this life and her mind is still one of a child.

note: I think this might actually take place during the genin days, but I have to check since I can't remember.

Tobirama is such a great character (so refreshing) and his interactions with Sakura in this are gold! I hope one day Kishimoto will release some side stories about him and other characters from his time as we really don't know that much about them tbh.

One day, while visiting the grave of Nohara Rin, Obito stumbles across a young girl terrifyingly like her. He decides to ensure she doesn’t meet the same fate.As for Sakura? Sakura had no idea what she was awakening the day she went to visit her parents graves - but she never looked back. One way or another.(Feat. Sakura raised by Obito and the Akatsuki, and her eventual return to Konoha and all those she left behind)

Sakura is brainwashed and manipulated, but loved by notorious killers nonetheless. Incredibly well written and I won't lie when I say that the ending took me a bit by surprise. Also, I should warn you that this does take place over a long time and thus Sakura does not remain a child for the whole thing, but I just really wanted to put New Day Dawning on this list (just read it).

What if Sakura was an orphan instead of Naruto and Sasuke? A story about a socially stunted girl who has a thirst for knowledge and is surrounded by softies who love her all the same.

Orphan!Sakura is not something I knew I needed in my life! She is so precious and it's great to watch all of these characters come together for her sake. In Another World also discusses ROOT a bit, which you know I love, so I can't wait for the story to get there.

“We are still under wartime policy,” the recruiter had told her parents. He had an envelope in his hand. He sounded sorry. “She has two parents who are successful ninjas. We would be remiss to overlook her potential based upon that alone.” The Third Shinobi War never ended. Konoha needs more soldiers, grabbing anyone who can fight, especially those who can't say no.

I feel like one of Your Move Instigator's biggest strengths is that it truly gets across the innocence (or loss) of these characters. They themselves don't fully understand what they are doing or why. They are just children following the orders given to them by adults, even if that means taking the life of another. In the beginning, Sakura even recalls times of her spelling and grammar being corrected in her reports along with other childish things. Konoha has shown themselves of not being above dispatching young children to fight, but this story just brings that devastation to new light.

when eighteen-year-old, post-war Sakura is thrown back into her tiny, pre-Academy body, she makes a decision. she'd had a childhood once already, and this time, she's more interested in Not Dying when the inevitable shit hits the proverbial fan. so she will work harder, care less, kill more, and smile when she's done. and hey, if she ends up reviving an extinct nature transformation to attract the most corrupt, power-hungry man from her timeline, all the better for her, right?

Probably one of the best time travel AUs out there!! Also, we get to see ROOT!Sakura in here, which I love in addition to Sai (my baby). I know I said it's incomplete, but it's only missing one chapter so you still get plenty of story. Anyway, definitely check out cut the head off the snake!!

Haruno Sakura was 5 when she realises her imaginary friend was not so imaginary at all and resembles the Second Hokage by a lot. Like a lot a lot. In which Senju Tobirama is Sakura's Ghost Sensei. Things change, chaos ensues and Tobirama is once more reminded with the reason he doesn't have kids.

Damn, I just really love Tobirama as a character. This guy rocks and deserves more story time (justice for Tobirama!!).

Desperate times call for desperate measures. If this means forcing weapons into the hands of children, then so be it.

A young Sakura is taken advantage of in her parents’ absence at war and is enrolled into the academy's "accelerated" program. The complete unfairness of the situation is skillfully conveyed throughout the story. Sakura is left to wonder why she too isn't learning about flowers and history like Ino? Why Ino isn't learning the fastest way to kill her enemies? The characters and their emotions are so well done that you truly feel just how cheated they are. They aren't heartless, they are children. Highly recommend.

She always knew she was a natural at genjutsu but what she didn't know was that being a natural meant she had some immense talent when it comes to spiritual energy. Well at least that's what the cheerful raven haired boy who apparently drowned himself on purpose said.

I only just started reading this now, but Inherited Will of Fire is super cute! Academy Sakura finds she is able to see ghosts after stumbling upon Shisui shortly after the Uchiha massacre.

One Change in the Story - Aingeal98 || ffn || T || gen || time travel AU || incomplete

It wasn't supposed to be like this. She was only supposed to go back five minutes in time. Instead, Sakura wakes up in a dark room surrounded by people wearing black cloaks with red clouds on them. The worst part? She doesn't have a clue who she is.

Praying for One Change in the Story to be completed!! Sakura lands herself back in time with the mind and body of her four year old self. With Pein being the first one to find her, Sakura's new life purpose is to be the Akatsuki's weapon. Similar to New Day Dawning, Sakura doesn't stay a child for the entirety of this fic, but I still think it is a notable mention. Sakura slowly loses herself to her new roll and in a sense becomes the embodiment of a ROOT agent. It was interesting to see Itachi's internal battle with the situation and Konan's guilt. However, even with Sakura bound to Ame, there are children back in Konoha who have an itch that a pink-haired girl named Sakura is someone important.

Thinking again about how Sakura and Tsunade are depicted as violent women for comedy relief purposes and how much it links to their value as people in the war setting of Naruto.

Let's start with the obvious: In Naruto, the more capable of violence an individual is, the more the shinobi system finds them valuable.

That's because they are always at war or waiting to be at war. They need to be a threat in order to be respected and in consequences, defenseless people can't speak without someone with great power or influence willing to back them up.

The Land of the Waves is the perfect example.

Now, it's very important to say that comedy relief moments in Naruto aren't meant to be taken all seriously. They tell us about the characters and their dynamics, but "women beats men" is a trope that most of the time is meant to be taken as a sort of compliment for the female characters of Naruto. It means they are strong and won't take any bullshit, that they are assertive, have a strong personality and generally they are great fighters.

I'm not defending the trope. I don't like the trope myself, but it is what it is.

This sort of "masculinization" of the women of a story is common for older media. "She's not like the other girls!", "she was raised with 5 brothers, so she's very tough!", "she does (insert activity that is associated with the male stereotype) so she worries no man will ever find her feminine enough to date her", blah blah blah.

It is followed by the author stating that they are still very much women, capable of being wanted and being feminine— you know the rest.

Those characters are always overcompensating for some vulnerability of their past. They were or felt like helpless little girls at some point, so they decided to grow strong to prevent anyone from hurting them or their loved ones again.

It doesn't matter if their natural positions should have given them some advantage. They were kids and more than that, they were women. It's a given that they were going to be discredited.

In Tsunade's case, she was the granddaughter of the two Hokages, a student of the third one, she was a Senju, a promising medic nin. Yet, it took Dan to speak for her for other shinobis to take seriously her proposal of assigning a medic nin to each team, at least until the war was over.

Tsunade innovated the way wars were fought. It is a fact. What needs to be said about medic nins in times of war is that their services will always work in favor of violence. They save soldiers so they can keep fighting, right? To have the best medic nins on your side makes your tropes terrifying to other countries, 'cause yours would not stay down for long. They would die less, get less sick, it'd be harder to take them down.

Tsunade's first vulnerable moment was when her little brother (Nawaki) died. That's her first time really feeling like a helpless little child. Orochimaru was a strong punch to the gut too, but nothing as bad as losing Dan. She convinced herself that she had put a curse on them by accident and isolated herself.

You remember what she's famous for?

Her beauty, her temperament and her skills.

She's pretty, but don't play with her because she will punch your guts to a new galaxy if you dare.

And that's the joke. Haha, this woman won't let you fool around or disrespect her. She doesn't like feeling like she's being dismissed. In many of the comedy relief situations, Tsunade is punching someone (Jiraiya, Naruto) for being inappropriate when talking to women or existing around women

So it's interesting to think how those scenes were supposed to show the audience that Tsunade was strong and capable and worthy of respect. Look, she is dangerous so it's better not to interrupt her while she's speaking or do not underestimate her for being a women

It was explicitly stated in her fight with Madara, where he called her a weak woman. No comedy there.

Now, those funny-violence gags are not reserved for women. We saw Naruto punch people too because he thought they were being unserious.

I think the real problem comes with the fact that such comedy was maximized with Sakura Haruno

Sakura is the original helpless little girl. Before any other female character, we were presented with a too smart for her own good brat with anger issues who based all her worth on how well she could compete on the social scenario of teenage girls.

In order to understand Sakura, we need to place her side by side with Naruto. They are the hero and the heroine of the manga. They were the first male and female characters we saw being bullied. They were both loud and annoying. None of them thought before speaking or considering how their actions could hurt others. They blindly thought they knew what they wanted, who they liked and who they hated. They had their rivals/best friends and that feeling of not belonging, of always being invisible, of being ignored. Naruto accumulated rage appeared in the form of Kurama, but Sakura had that inner version of herself.

All I'm saying is that Sakura is full of issues and insecurities. Her normal life didn't save her from it, despite what other characters could think.

What was Sakura's arc through Naruto Classic? Do you remember? It was her learning that being shinobis was not a game and that she needed to become dangerous if she wanted to be and do anything in that world of hers. It was not enough to memorize concepts, because applying that knowledge in the safety of a classroom was very different from actually fighting for her life.

Sakura spoke mostly through Naruto back in their genin days. We know she impressed Ibiki Morino with her intelligence and Kakashi gave her some high praise during the Chunning Exams. Those comedy relief was meant to show us that she had the potential, but she needed to learn first.

Turning her into a new version of Tsunade was Kishimoto's way of complimenting her. He gave her the beauty, the strength and the skills. Most importantly, Kishimoto gave Sakura the means to make people shut up and listen to her. There is a reason to consider her within the narrative that doesn't extend to her value to other characters (aka how much team 7 cared about her).

What another example? Think of Temari or Chiyo or Kushina. They are all accomplished kunoichis with attitude and a mean punch.

The contrary is the stereotype of quiet girls who are either made fun of for being weird or get discredited for not being the "violent" type.

It was 4:55 p.m., and your heart was pounding. It was time for an honest talk with your best friends. So things wouldn’t feel like an ambush, you all agreed it would be best to keep the conversation between you, Jimin, and Yujin. The others were close to you as well, but they didn't have the same childhood connection as the three of you. Although everyone had been hurt about Yujin’s betrayal, no one could experience more pain than you and Jimin did at this moment.

As the rest of the gang prepared to make their exit, you heard a soft knock coming from the front door.

"Huh, Yujin’s early? That’s a first." You gave a soft smile at Yunjin, who always tried to find comedy in the most serious moments; you appreciated it. Sakura walked up to the door and let in your childhood friend.

Yujin looked thinner and more pale than you remembered; it was obvious that this situation had taken a toll on her.

"You have a key?" Said Minji, pondering as to why she didn’t just let herself in since it was Yujin’s dorm as well.

"Yeah, but I felt like I needed to warn you all that I was here. It’s the least I can do."

As Yujin spoke, your fellow college friends began to exit the dorm. You knew they would all just stay in Kurra’s car, waiting for you to give the ‘OK’ text for them to come in, but you appreciated the privacy that tried to give you three.

"So, how’s living at Wonyoung’s?"

"Oh, um, nice? She has constant hot water, so that’s pretty cool."

"Dang! Minji does waste all the hot water, doesn’t she? I don’t have the heart to tell her that the rest of us can’t stand freezing cold showers, though."

"Ha, yeah."

This conversation was incredibly awkward.

Jimin cleared her throat and gestured for Yujin to take a seat on the sofa. To which Yujin humbly obliged. It was obvious she missed being in her dorm. She went right back to her usual seat on the sofa with a sigh of relief. (You and the others swore that there was a Yujin-shaped imprint in the cushion, but Yujin always argued otherwise.)

"We all know why you're here, Yujin."

"Right, Yeah… I don’t even know where to start."

“How about your secret friendship with Wonyoung, how the fuck did that even happen?”

"How about how you’re a back-stabbing weasel who made the love of my life kiss someone else in front of me?" Yujin winced at your comment and looked down at her feet. You knew that was harsh, but Yujin deserved it. She hurt you four years ago, and she hurt you four days ago. Yujin deserved to hear how upset you were.

Yujin had always been an eccentric kid. She never cared about what people thought. It was obvious by the way she acted in public. Yujin was loud, energetic, and carefree. She never had to worry about people’s opinions affecting her because she knew her friends would always be by her side. Even when she let out all the tarantulas from the science lab or when she sent three kids to the hospital after a serious game of dodgeball, Y/n and Jimin defended her through it all.

"Plus 4, take THAT Jimin."

"Plus 4." Jimin slammed down her card while giving Y/N a mischievous side-eye.

"No, this can’t be." She claimed Yujin as her eyes widened once she realized that Y/N was mimicking Jimin’s grin.

"Y/n, think this through; we’re friends."

"You’re right, Yujin, plus 4." Yujin let out an ear-piercing scream. She now had to pick up eight cards. Instead of doing so, she threw all her cards on the table and then flipped the table. Yujin always had great sportsmanship.

"The game stinks. I’m thirsty; I’m getting some drinks."

"Loser, you’re just scared about losing the game."

“I can't hear you. You’re too far away!” She scurried off, heading toward the school’s vending machine. Her friends were right, but she couldn’t just admit defeat.

Counting the coins in her pocket, Yujin skipped her way toward the vending machine’s. Before she could fully enter the room, she noticed a tall, slender figure standing in front of her. She knew that gorgeous flowing brown hair from anywhere. It was Jang Wonyoung. Her name was known all around the school.

After having a long debate with herself on whether she should disturb the goddess, which is Wonyoung, Yujin realized that she was too thirsty to even care. But before she could walk in, she heard Wonyoung whisper to herself.

"Fuck, I’m 25 cents short."

Yujin gasped. She’d never expected to hear Wonyoung curse; she always seemed so ladylike and elegant. But I guess even princesses have their off days?

Yujin’s gasp, unfortunately, was not silent. As Wonyoung whipped her head around to see who was there, Yujin didn’t have time to hide herself. She began to panic and could only let out the words:

"25 cents!"

Wonyoung cocked her head to the side, in confusion.

Yujin cleared her throat and stood up straight.

“Um, I have a quarter, if you need it? I already had so much water, I’m practically pissing myself! It should go to someone who needs it more.” Yujin grinned, showing all her teeth. She tried hard not to make it seem like she was nervous.

Wonyoung's face darkened for a second, but she quickly turned back to her princess-like smile.

"No need, gorgeous, I got it covered."

"Are you sure? Didn’t you just say you needed a quarter?"

"I’m fine. Do I look like a charity case to you? I can afford a water bottle.” Her tone was much less polite than the first time.

"Woah! I didn’t say all of that. Look, if you’re missing a quarter, you could just say that; there's no need to get all snarky. Aren’t you supposed to be like mega rich or something anyway?”

Wonyoung’s tone became even more aggressive.

"I said I can afford it. Who the fuck are you? What’s your problem? You just come up here assuming I’m poor; well, I’m not. I could probably afford your entire home with my shoes alone. So just run along, little one; stop bothering the big kids."

Yujin was taken aback. She was speechless. All she could do to retaliate was throw a quarter at Wonyoung and run away. That was her first encounter with Wonyoung, but certainly not her last.

In fact, Yujin’s next encounter with Wonyoung happened less than 24 hours later.

She was always known to roam around the halls after school hours. Jimin would be at volleyball practice while Y/n went to tutoring, so Yujin was left alone for an hour and a half every once in a while. Sure, she could just go home. But what fun would that be? She’d rather wait for her best buddies to walk with her.

Yujin has the same route she’d walk every time she stayed alone.

First, she visited her physics class pet. Charlie the Chinchilla. She would pet him, and he’d almost always bite her. Charlie was not friendly.

This then led her to her next destination, the nurse's office! Greeting her with the same faint smile, Yujin picked up the various colored bandages to cover up her Chinchilla bite.

Lastly, she’d make her way downstairs to watch Jimin practice volleyball in the school’s gym. Heading downstairs, Yujin took her time, admiring the school’s graffiti on the stairway walls. But this time it wasn’t her usual quiet stroll downstairs. She heard various sounds coming from the 2nd-floor stairwell. Being the curious puppy she is, Yujin softly walked up the stairs to check out the high school's newest romantic entanglement.

Slightly poking her head out of the staircase, Yujin squinted her eyes and tippy-toed to get a good view. Her vision became clear, and she got a good look at the couple. Yujin’s eyes quickly went from squinted to wide-open. She gasped as she realized what she was looking at.

Was it Wonyoung and Yeonjun?

Realizing the pair that was in front of her, Yujin tripped on her own two feet and began to fall down a flight of stairs.

"Ah Fuck!"

"Who’s there? You, Werido, are you trying to get a good look for your spank bank?" Yujin recognized the voice. It was Yeonjun.

"It’s you again; you're that girl from the vending machine." There came the other voice of the pair; it was Wonyoung, and she was staring right down at Yujin.

Trying to recover from the great fall she just had, Yujin let out a stuttered:

"N-No! I promise, I just heard noises and came to see."

"That’s the literal definition of being a weird pervert.”

Yujin couldn’t find a good excuse for herself, so she did what she does best. She ran away. Straight into the second bathroom.

Quickly slamming the door behind her, she let out a deep breath of air. Yujin frantically started pacing around. What was she going to do? Surely she had seen something she wasn’t supposed to. Was Wonyoung out to get her now? She closed her eyes, thinking of the various ways she could attempt to get out of this situation, until she felt a cold, wet towel on her knee.

"That was a big fall you took; your knee’s bleeding."

Yujin quickly opened her eyes. Was Wonyoung cleaning up her knee?

"Sorry for Yeonjun’s harsh words; he’s kind of an idiot."

"No, it’s my fault; I shouldn’t have watched; it was weird."

"I probably would’ve done the same; don’t worry, really.” Wonyoung’s voice sounded sweet. It was a complete 180 from the yelling she had done at the vending machines. She had a look of sincerity on her face.

"Um, you know I won’t tell anyone about anything. But don’t you think maybe Ning should know that Yeonjun and you are... Since you guys are like best friends, and that’s her boyfriend? Maybe you can talk it out? Share custody of him? Just my opinion though, I think I’d like to know." Yujin’s words trailed off. She couldn’t even fully register what she’d seen, let alone say it in words. Yet she still felt obligated to give her opinion. It’s true that Ningning wasn’t the most kind person, but even she didn’t deserve to get backstabbed.

As Wonyoung took out a bandage to put on Yujin’s knee, she felt Wonyoung’s hands shake.

"Um, Wonyoung?" She bent down to Wonyoung’s level and saw tears in her eyes.

"I messed up. Big time, I’m such a shitty person.” Her words were spiraling out, and tears were flowing out of her eyes. Yujin didn’t know what to do.

"Oh, no, hey, you’re not. Everyone kisses their friend's boyfriend sometimes.” No, they do not.

"No, not that. This isn’t even the first time. He’s not even her boyfriend. Yeonjun’s just pretending to like her, so she’ll keep paying off his stuff.” At this point, it was obvious that Wonyoung had pent-up emotions that she needed to let out. Yujin tried to keep her reactions to herself and kept quiet so as to let Wonyoung keep talking.

"And I’m no better than he is. You know, I try to tell myself that I care about her. That Ning’s my best friend, but how can I believe that when my friendship with her didn’t even start for the right reasons? You were right, okay? I am poor. I have no money. There, are you happy? I was counting quarters and couldn’t afford a water bottle. I only yelled at you because I thought you would tell everyone, and word would eventually get to Ning. I need her in my life. Without her, I’d just be some low-level poverty case with no friends looking for a handout. After a while, I really did start seeing her as my friend. But now here I am, making out with her boyfriend. What’s wrong with me?” Wonyoung sobbed on the bathroom floor.

Yujin didn’t know what to do. Why was Wonyoung spilling her guts out to her? Was it really out of guilt?

"Listen, I’ll just forget I saw anything, really. I’ll forget the kissing Ningning’s boyfriend and the quarter thing. I promise." Yujin was hugging Wonyoung at this point. She wanted nothing more than to get out of this situation, but she couldn't just leave Wonyoung on the bathroom floor. Sure, what she did was messed up, but she had her reasons, and she clearly showed…..remorse? 

"Aw, how sweet of you! You’d do that for little old me? Then how about I pay you back? Anytime you need a favor, it’s on me! Anytime sweetie." Wonyoung’s tears dried up in an instant, and her usual chipper tone came back. Almost as if nothing had happened.

Yujin never thought of a time when she would call upon the evil terror of Wonyoung, but I guess it was a nice thing to have. Besides, even if she did want to tell Ningning, would she even believe her? There's no way she’d believe Yujin over her best friend, Wonyoung.

“Ok, Deal."

Senior Year Spring Hill High School

"No, I’m going to do it, Yujin; I’m going to confess at the graduation party."

Yujin sat against the wall outside of the school’s gymnasium, pondering back at Y/N's words toward her. She winced at the thought of Y/N getting shot down by Jimin. Their friendship was important to Yujin; she couldn’t risk breaking it apart. It was all she had.

But what could she do to fix this? She could only accept the impending doom of their trio.

"What’s wrong, cutie? You seem distressed.

Yujin turned her head to see the school’s princess. Her flowing hair was never out of place. A soft smile is always on her face.

"Oh, Wonyoung! It’s nothing. Just thinking things, I guess." She nervously chuckled; she had never really interacted with Wonyoung since that day. But Wonyoung did always greet her in the halls, much to the confusion of others.

"Sugarplum, you can talk to me. We’re secret buddies! What’s bothering you?” I guess it couldn’t hurt venting to her? I mean, she was right—you were secret buddies, technically?

"Um, well, it’s just that.... you know Jimin, right? And Y/n?"

"Your cutie-pie friends, yup!"

"Yeah, them, well, Y/N kinda, sorta, maybe has a huge ginormous crush on Jimin. And Y/N is kind of confessing at the party. I have no clue what to do, Wonyoung. I feel like I’m losing them. If Jimin rejects them, then it’ll be awkward between Jimin and Y/N. It’ll be like having divorced parents; I’ll have to choose! Either Jimin, the international superstar of Spring Hill High, who will surely make other friends in no time, Or Y/N, the known introvert, who probably only hangs out with me because she can’t be in a room alone with Jimin for more than two seconds without possibly fainting. So once Jimin’s out of the equation, they’ll have no real reason to hang out with me. On the other hand, if Jimin accepts, then I’ll be a third wheel. Always in the way of their lovey-dovey relationship. I don’t know which one is worse. Either way, it feels like I’m left all alone."

“Aw, honey, that’s quite the conundrum! How can I help? You still have a Wony favor to call in?"

"What, no? I can’t just medal in their lives."

"You sure? Offers never expiring!”

"I’m sure."

Senior Year, Spring Hill High Graduation Party

Yujin was not sure.

It was the night of the graduation party, and she was positive that the only way to stop this rejection from happening was by getting Wonyoung involved.

She walked up to Wonyoung and uttered:

"Could I ask a favor from you?"

Wonyoung’s eyes lit up in delight.

"I thought you’d never ask Buttercup!" Wonyoung quickly grabbed onto Yujin’s hand and guided her around the party area. She led her to Ninging, where she was comfortably sitting on Yeonjun’s lap. Yujin shuttered.

"Ew, is this a charity case? Why is she here, Wony?” Ninging glanced at Yujin, looking her up and down. Wonyoung ignored her comment and dragged Ningning by the hand to a quieter part of the party.

"Ning, Yujin has something to ask you. Go ahead, buttercup!"

Yujin gulped as Ninging started her down.

"Um, could you help me? Try to save my friend from embarrassment.”

"Again, ew, why would I help trash like you?"

Wonyoung put a hand on Yujin’s shoulder.

"Yujin, don’t be so worried; I’ll tell her for you if you’re too nervous. Ningning, Yujin’s caught her friend Y/N kissing Yeonjun yesterday. I know this probably isn’t the place to tell you, but she thought you should know. She even has a perfect plan to get her back!"

Ningning’s face went from annoyed to hurt. She looked like she was about to cry. While Yujin’s face went as pale as a ghost, She didn’t expect Wonyoung to lie. Was this really the only way to save your trio?

"Is this true?” Ningning asked.

Yujin took a deep breath, but before she could answer, Wonyoung cut her off.

"I’m afraid, darling. But do you see Jimin there? Y/N's so in love with her! I bet you could break their heart just like they hurt yours. ~"

"I’ll make that bitch regret ever touching him."

Ningning walked away to throw a drink at Yeonjun’s face, then marched up to Jimin to give her the proposition. To which Jimin obliged.

Yujin watched the whole ordeal go down and felt a whisper in her ear that sent shivers down her spine. It was Wonyoung’s voice going from sweet to the same cold-aggressive tone she once used at the vending machines.

“It looks like we’re both shitty people, aren’t we? It looks like you’re stuck with me, sweetheart. ~"

Naruto Rivalry  

Sakura’s rivalry with Ino wasn’t just about Sasuke. Sakura was jealous of Ino for her parents getting along, her ability to speak up, how she was expressing herself, and when Sasuke came to class he liked Ino more in her eyes.

Ino saw Sakura as a rival because she was smarter, get along with people better, was one of the first to learn cloning, and in her eyes Sasuke (while cute) wasn’t her first crush who preferred Sakura

Naruto was Sasuke’s rival: he made friends easily, He was loud but funny, and he need to direct his anger at something other then himself

Sasuke was Naruto rival: academically did better on every level, had tried for years for Sakura to notice him, but took Sasuke one day and needed to build his anger at someone

Hinata is Neji rival: the gifted kid that always had her dad’s attention, praised for learning main family technique better than her, and was just overall treated her like a nuisance 

Neji is Hinata rival: the reason his dad is dead, believes she got handed a victory over him because of house A v house B, believes her not being good at byakugan as a direct result of her not trying as she doesn’t have to while he has to be 12 times better

I have a new sasusaku au idea.

So say after the third shinobi war, Leaf and Sand made a peace agreement via arranged marriage. The sand would provide a relative of the Kazakage's family to be a bride for one of the head families of Konoha's clans.

The Uchiha clan was chosen to receive the bride. It wasn't decided yet if she would wed Itachi or Sasuke but she would be for one of them.

As for the bride herself, there was a debate to send the Kazakage's daughter Temari, but then Suna's council remembered that Karura had a sister who had a daughter.

Sakura knew her whole life that she would eventually be sent to Konoha as a peace bride. Her childhood was kinda lonely because of it. Suna's council started her ninja training young because they knew the Uchiah's were a ninja clan by trade and that they value strength. They gave her to Lady Chiyo to train. Sakura never really took to puppetry, not like Kankuro, but she did excell under Lady Chiyo's posion teachings and beginner medical training.

When Sakura wasn't with Lady Chiyo, she was with her cousins. She was closest to Gaara since both of them were being raised to be used in service to the village (Gaara as a weapon and Sakura as a peace offering) which left them both pretty isolated as children. This isolation also left Sakura a little oblivious to the village's fear of her favorite cousin. All she knew was that Gaara was a sweet boy who just needed some extra training to control his powers. Yes, she did know that Gaara had Shukaku in him and sometimes he lost control of his powers, but like most kids, she doesn't fully understand what that means.

Sakura and Gaara's relationship took a hit when their uncle, Yashamaru, tried to kill Gaara and then proceeded to blow himself up. Gone was the sweet boy who wanted to love and be loved. Gaara was now colder, and while Sakura still cared greatly for her cousin, it felt like he only tolerated her now. She was still one of his closest relationships, along with his siblings.

When Sakura was twelve, she was given two items. The first was a chain with a ring on it. The ring was silver with a red jewel. Purple chakra swirled in the jewel. The second item was a headband with Konoha's symbol on it.

It was time for her to go to the Leaf Village.

On Konoha's side after the Uchiha massacre the council looked for ways to keep Sasuke in line. They remembered the deal with Suna and made the arrangements to officially betrothed Sasuke and Sakura. Not that they told him.

The deal was that once Sasuke graduated from the Academy, they would bring Sakura to the village and assign her to his genin team. Kakashi about damn near had heart failure when his third student was escorted in with two Sand anbu behind her. Gai had to console him later.

Sakura looked around curiously at everything as she followed Kakashi to meet her other teammates. There was a lot more color in Konoha than Suna, especially the color green. Her teacher was curious, too. He introduced himself as Kakashi Hatake. Hmm, the only Hatake Sakura knew about was the White Fang Sakumo, and Lady Chiyo wanted him dead. She wonders if Kakashi is related.

Sakura is behind Kakashi when he opens the door to a classroom and an erasure falls on his head. A loud laugh was heard from the inside. Was that her betrothed or her other teammate?

"That's what you get for being late!" The voice shouted.

We're they late? Sakura winced. That was probably her fault. Kakashi did have to get her from the Hokage's tower.

Kakashi only humed as he stepped into the room, Sakura following behind. Two boys turned their stares from their sensei to her. She scanned them, one was a blonde with whisker like marks on his face, the other had black hair and eyes. While she couldn't verify via the Uchiah symbol, Sakura had to guess the dark eyed boy was her betrothed Sasuke. She was told the Uchiah's typically had darker features.

Kakashi humed again. "My first impress of you three, I hate all of you."

Well damn, that's not good. Sakura needs allies if she's gonna survive here and make sure to maintain the peace agreement. Having her sensei hate her right off the bat doesn't bode well for her.

They're led up to the roof where Kakashi has them introduce themselves, not that he offered up much info.

The blonde boy started. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki! I like ramen, especially the ramen at Ichiraku! But I hate having to wait the three minutes for it to cook. And my dream is to be the greatest Hokage!"

Well, he was energetic. But this did confirm Sakura's suspicions.

Sasuke spoke next. "My name is Sasuke Uchiah. I dislike a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anyone. I don't have a dream because I will make it a reality. I will restore my clan and kill a certain someone."

Oh, well, there's some familiarity of home with her betrothed. At least she'll have some knowledge on how to approach her betrothed thanks to Gaara.

The boys turned towards her and Kakashi tilted his head. We'll go on.

Sakura blushed. Oh, right. "I'm Sakura Haruno. What I like, I mean, um-" Damn her accent slipped, and after her tutors worked so hard to make sure it was perfect. "I like studying. . ." Can't say posions, won't look good since she's suppsed to be a peace offering. ". . .medical plants and the effect they have on the body. My dislikes are um. . ." What was safe to say? She didn't get a chance to study her teammates before, and there wasn't much info her anbu escorts gave her either.

Kakashi seemed to take pity on her. "And your dream for the future?"

That was easy. "To maintain the peace and alliance between Konoha and Suna."

"How come we've never seen you before?" Naruto asked her.

The boys looked at her confused. Sakura looked at Sasuke confused. Why was he confused? He's the other half to making this peace agreement work.

Kakashi cleared his throat. "Sakura is from another village, but she has been put on this team as part of an alliance agreement. Now for tomorrow we'll have our first mission."

Sakura tensed as Kakashi explained that of the graduates only nine ever make it to genin and the rest are sent back to the academy. What does that mean for her? Would she be sent back to Suna? That can't happen, not if they want to peace agreement to work out, she can't fail this!

Sakura went to speak with Sasuke after they were dismissed. She knows they officially just met but they did need to talk about their engagement. Kakashi pulled them both back.

Kakashi pulled a silver ring on a chain out of his pocket. Sakura knew that ring. It was the matching ring to the one she wore around her neck, except it had her chakra in it instead of Sasuke's. Why would Kakashi have it?

Kakashi handed the chain to Sasuke. "Did your parents ever tell you about your engagement?"

Sasuke's face fell into a scowl. "What?"

Sakura began to grow mortified.

"The alliance agreement between Konoha and Suna was sealed with an arranged marriage between the Uchiha clan and a relative of Suna's leader, the Kazekage," Kakashi explained. "Sakura is the Kazakage's niece, and per the agreement, you two will be living together from this point on."

Sasuke turned his glare on to Sakura. Sakura was thankful she gotten used to Gaara's glares.

3. WHATCHU OVER HERE BEING MESSY FOR? 456 wc

soobin came back from waving mr. bang off, "he said we did a great job and told me to give riki a high five because of the cobwebs." riki hit soobin’s hand with a smile. "but we need more employees. mr. bang's words, not mine.” soobin said, not trying to get attacked. as if on cue, two boys came in.

one with kind of long black hair and one with brownish hair. they both were tall and handsome young men. y/n's jaw dropped. it was the boy that was her "secret admirer" as sunghoon would say. y/n dragged yoon into the back, the new boys furrowing their brows. "she's.. having problems. ignore her." keeho smiled, trying up cover up the weird atmosphere. the others nodding with him.

"anyways, we were wondering if there were was a opening for a job here?" the one with brown hair asked with a polite smile. soobin nodded and took them to his office. while that happened, sakura, keeho, and riki all looked at eachother then sprinted to the back with yoon and y/n.

"spill right now." keeho said, sitting on a crate box. "okay well, that black haired boy, yeah he's supposedly my "secret admirer"." y/n explained, using air quotes. "we’re pretty sure he watches her walk out of her classes too.” yoon followed up. "drama, i like it." riki said.

"i hate you." y/n said. after a couple minutes of y/n pacing back and forth whispering to herself, sakura suggested something. "let's go eat at that breakfast place across the road, they have awesome bacon.” "yeah! let's go, i love their eggs bro." yoon said, grabbing her bag.

y/n, riki, and keeho all grabbed their stuff like phones, wallets, bags, etc. and followed yoon and sakura out of the back room. soobin came infront of them with the two boys from earlier,

"before you guys get going, i want y/n training wonbin and yoon training sungchan. theyre your new co workers," soobin explained, y/n wishes she could just walk off the earth right now. "okay no problem! we were just heading to this great breakfast place across the road, you guys should come." yoon said, with a welcoming smile.

"thanks, we should get to know you guys anyway." sungchan agreed, wonbin keeping his eyes on y/n. so, they all walked to the breakfast place with keeho and riki almost getting run over and keeho flipping the driver off.

they arrived at the diner that was adjecent to their workplace. they all sat down in a big booth, "so what is everyone getting? ill pay since it was my idea." sakura said, she just wanted to care for her 6 kids. everyone said what they wanted and the waiter took their order.

If you had to pick a second trio of awakening kids to put in fates (on Hishido's side) who would you send, why, and where would put them (ie who's retainers would they be and who would they replace or where would they be serving in Hoshido if not retainers).

so, to hoshido????? well… i think realistically theyd go down the popularity poll. they seem to want to avoid lucina (lord) and morgan (two of them, picking one means making one and also one robin canon) so next on the list iirc is noire, brady, and gerome. and i think that could work pretty okay, but i think they just kind of all have one fatal flaw here: none of them would be down to go.

the awakening trio works because yeah!! yeah i absolutely buy all three of them being game to go fuck off to a new world because some pathetic man begged them to help save lives. gerome though?? no!! gerome hardly wanted to go back in time to save HIS OWN WORLD!! brady cant fight CANONICALLY, and i highly doubt he’d want to step foot on another battlefield. and noire… i think someone could make a case for noire being willing to come. but i think she’d prefer staying with tharja and protecting the baby version of herself more. and without proper encouragement which would mostly likely come from severa who is. not here. i dont think she’d be too willing. AND I KNOW THAT MEANS IM MISSING OUT ON NOIRE!RHAJAT BUT… come on. you think im gonna give noire to hayato anyways?? no.

so!! a more interesting alternative? kjelle, cynthia, and laurent. i think kjelle and cynthia would be so down if they thought they were gonna be protecting innocents. kjelle wants to fight, grow stronger, and protect, and her natural element is the battlefield. cynthia wants to be a hero and fight for justice, and what better than a country protecting its homeland? as for laurent, i think he’d also like to save people, but i just think this guy would also like traveling around for education purposes. a new land means more insight to gain, and more things to share with his mother when he comes back. so. yeah. perhaps not the tightest reasoning, but i think its much more realistic than like. gerome. sooo

cynthia would most likely stay a pegasus knight? i dont see a reason to change her class. but armor knight is nohrian while sage doesnt exist in fates (technically. im aware onmyoji is the equivalent) sooo they’d have to change. i think theres a few things you could do with kjelle? spear fighter is probably the obvious choice, but i think kinda similar to owain, she’d like a chance to try out other weapons, probably to demonstrate her strength. and for this im strongly leaning master of arms prepromote. yes she’d still have spear access, but having mastered katanas and clubs during her time in hoshido could be really fun i think. as for laurent… lol. apothecary. hes not really here to fight but like. he can. promote him to merchant and he’ll start throwing the army’s treasury at you. dont fuck with him! but obviously kjelle would have armor knight access via heart seal and i think i’d give laurent troubador over dark mage just to reference miriel having that class in awakening but it could go either way. cynthia would probably have… uh. ummmm… fuck. wait. i dont know. sumia gets armor knight and cleric. can we j be funny and give her merc so she has hero access :/// ok thanks

im completely willing to change on this honestly. i thought long and hard about it and then i went “hm. no.” and ended up here. my logic is that of the awakening trio, laslow definitely seems to be the strongest and is nohr’s crown prince’s retainer, and of these three, kjelle is probably the strongest, so same treatment. i also considered the dynamic between saizo and kagero and i just think she’d work the best with them. no bullshit, just work. plus, in a samurai class (moa promotes from samurai) she’d fit in better with ninja than a flier and a uh. a guy.

i put laurent with hinoka and i almost didnt because i think he could have an interesting dynamic with the other royals too. but then i was like “okay. of the three: who would fit into hinokas retainer dynamic that just seems to be ‘giving hinoka a hard time’” and well!!! i think!!! i think its laurent!!! i think laurent would just be engrossed in his studies and the difference in technological progress compared to ylisse (no fireworks but they have giant puppets??? the dolls with the saws??? TANKS????) and hinokas like “uh. hey. did you eat any of ur last three meals?” and he goes “no but i DID make a gun” and azama and setsuna are just like “woahhh thats fucking awesome dude” and i just think if i gave hinoka kjelle or cynthia it wouldnt be as funny. i do things for the bit. always.

and that leaves cynthia for the other two and… i dont actually think she’d go to takumi. i think sakura and her retainers is a much more realistic possibility because takumis trio is just. so. fucking look at them… itd be odd to shove a fourth person in there. it COULD work, but also i kinda just like the idea of cynthia pledging herself to sakura. she’d be all hyped about it too like “the brave warrior defending her princess?!! yessss!!” and sakura would be like. so down for cynthias flower throwing entrance or whatever (with… sakura petals?? yes????) and idk i just think they would be neat. and she could be a nice mediator between subaki and hana who just like. wont shut the fuck up. she’ll either make it better by being a nice middle man or make it worse by also not shutting up except its about something completely different and no progress gets made. both fine outcomes, i think.

Wanted to compile a bunch of my headcanons here:

Celeste:

Starts off cold towards the class as in canon, but warms up to them. Becomes fiercly protective of them since they'rw her only friends

If she catches people bullying Toko, Chihiro, Taka, Hifumi, Makoto, etc she will retaliate

Is trying to come off super cool but is actually incredibly awkward. Most of the class still think she is cool after bedriending her

Extremely eager to show off her knowledge about her interests. Will just infodump on whoever is willing to listen.

Cries a lot in secret

Very insecure about her body and appearance

Also insecure about her interests that aren't gambling and European culture. Only Chihiro, Hifumi, Makoto, and Kyoko know she's into things like manga and video games. The rest suspect she's secretly a nerd.

Speaking of also prone to gamer rage and she's very thankful the dorms are sound proof

Secretly a My Little Pony fan. Only Chihiro knows because they made a joke while they were hanging out once about her name and noticed her panic. She took her first name from Princess Celestia. Also why she calls the others darling after befriending them.

If Byakuya's not around she'll be one of the first to offer to pay. She is bad at showing how much she values the others so she compensates with paying for meals or tickets to places

Basically kind of a bitchy Rarity once she has gotten over herself and connected with everyone.

Sews her own clothes, and eventually starts making clothes for the others with a discount on comissions

Gets roped into the obligatory D&D episode by Hifumi

Comes from a family that lived in poverty, got bullied as a kid as a result

Part of the bullying was being called a loser over and over again

Why she ends up being one of the first to stick up for the others

Has learned some self-defense to protect herself since she spends a lot of time illegally gambling

While she does drop more and more of her persona as time goes on, and is more authentic with everyone she still prefers the Celestia name and fancy clothing. They help her feel comfortable in her own skin.

She's only really comfortable using Taeko with the rest of Class 78, and even then not when they're out in public

Absolutely unable to cook well

Will start arguments with Byakuya, Leon, and/or Mondo for the fun of it.

Her and Makoto kinda confide in each other about how they feel like fakes next to everyone else.

She has read every single one of Toko"s books multiple times.

Ocassionally she will correct Hifumi when he gets something wrong about an anime and whistle innocently when people are stunned she knew that.

Makes the time to go to events the others are doing like Sayaka's concerts or Hina's swim meets.

Once she went with Hifumi to help sell his doujins. Ended up with Hifumi punching a guy in the face for creeping on her.

Sakura and Mondo also worry about her going to seedy parts of town to gamble and have discreetly followed her to make sure she's safe

She enjoys challenging Kyoko to various cars games

She also ends up enjoying discussing history with Taka

While at first she really hated Yasuhiro she did end up finding he could have surprisingly good advice from time to time.

Chihiro:

Trans girl. I accept any hcs on their gender. For me personally I just see them as a trans girl who compensated by trying to fit into a mold of manliness before realizing and accepting her identity.

She still likes to work out and try to get stronger.

Into making mods for video games

Has been into just about every embarassing fandom at one point or another. Superwholock, Homestuck, Undeetale, MLP, Steven Universe. She was overjoyed when she found out Celeste was too.

She will also haplily offer to pay for the others when Byakuya's not around. Her programming skills have made her a good amount of money, placing her just behind Celeste's wealth and 3rd highest overall

Also can not cook at all

Has a terrible sleep schedule, will need coffee as soon as she wakes up

While she identifies she/her she still doesn't have many feminine typical interests beyond the clothing.

Bottles up frustrations and anger, lets it out online in arguments.

Genuinely admires all of her classmates

Besides Makoto she is the most popular person in her class

Cries a lot too, but openly

She has written a program for each classmate that helps with their talent in some way

They kept it a secret for a long time

While keeping it a secret everyone thought they were just crushing on each other and kept trying to get them together

They kept playing it off pretending not to get it

Kyoko knew from the start

When they finally let the others know it was after they had an argument that was their first big argument.

They like spending a lot of time together in their dorms watching movies/tv, playing games together, being affectionate, and talking a lot

Because they both have a lot of hang ups they end up comforting one another a lot.

Said this before but Celeste ended up trauma dumping on the first date.

Celeste also had a panic attack prior to the date

In general even though it seems like Celeste is the cool mature one, Chihiro is the one that's more mature

Chihiro is drawn to Celeste because she thinks she is cool, that she is protective, and admires her willpower

Celeste is drawn to Chihiro because she loves her optimisim and friendliness. That she is not judgmental, and is always willing to listen to her ramblings

After they reveal their relationship they get a lot more affectionate in public

Chihiro also basically moves into Celeste's room.

Because Celeste forgets to lock her door a lot, they have been walked in on by every single one of their classmates at least once

They get married pretty quickly after graduating

While they don't really want to have kids the old fashioned way, they do get very adoption happy and they tend to spoil the kids. They might even run a foster home

Among them is Kokichi who Celeste likes to playfully have compete against Kyoko's protege Shuichi

Kyoko nor Chihiro even realize there's supposed to be a rivalry going on

Chihiro and Celeste are very cuddly. They find it difficult to get to sleep without touching the other in some way

Celeste makes Chihiro clothes for free

Because neither of them can cook they order take out a lot.

Aoi sighed. She'd been bothered by a bunch of things. It ruined her mood completely when she heard one of the guys on the boys' swim team call her a 'Slut' for wearing a shirt that revealed a bit of her boobs. And always latching onto her guy friends. But it wasn't because she liked them or wanted anything from them, she was just affectionate like that. She couldn't help herself. She did it with her female friends, too.

Her girlfriend, Sakura, didn't mind it. She knew that Aoi was like that.

She sighed again and continued to mope around as a random TV program played.

"Hina. Honey, what's wrong?" Her father asked. She looked at the policeman sadly. But she didn't say anything and went back to watching the TV. "I-It's nothing, Dad."

"You sure? You can tell me, I won't get upset." Takaaki said with a slight smile. Aoi felt herself wanting to smile. Of course, how could she not tell him? He's so caring of her and her brother. And he treats all his kids the same, no matter what. But Aoi just continued to watch the TV, her sad expression still there.

Takaaki sighed. He went to the front door and grabbed his keys. "I'll be back in a minute, okay?" He said as he put on his shoes. "Okay…" She said with a nod.

A few minutes had passed and Takaaki had finally come back home. He found Aoi still watching TV. She was also skimming through a magazine Sayaka probably gave her. It was a year old fashion magazine of the fashion trends of the time. He remembered seeing Sayaka look through it a bunch of times that year. Along with the other ones that came out that same year.

Takaaki headed into the kitchen and left Aoi alone.

Aoi still looked sad. Her mood didn't get any better. She hated being looked at by guys or some girls and treated like she only existed for her body. She felt extremely terrible when Toko moved in with them and she made all these comments about her boobs. Takaaki had to pull Toko aside and scold her –giving her a stern look of just pure disappointment– to not bother Aoi with how her body looks. And Toko probably said some sort of dirty remark, making him pissed and sending her to her room.

She told him that he didn't have to, but he said that Toko should learn some manners to not speak of another woman that way. It was rude. It was like he knew what that felt like by how his expression was.

Aoi appreciated that small moment.

She felt someone lift her up and take her somewhere. "What are you doing?" She asked Takaaki. He just placed her down at the table and went into the kitchen again. He put down a plate of donuts in front of her, "Okay. I got you these. Now, tell me what's wrong." Takaaki said as he sat down on the other side, his hands intertwined with each other and resting his head on them slightly.

He had an intense expression. But it softened a bit, "I just want to be there for you, Hina, as your father. I know I can't replace your biological parents everything-wise. But, I'm here for you." Takaaki told her, still gazing at her.

Aoi looked at the plate of donuts. Then at him.

She smiled and took one, stuffing it in her mouth happily. She proceeded to tell him what she was going through and how it bothered her. And Takaaki listened quietly, nodding. He didn't interrupt her or anything, he just nodded and kept his silence until she was done. She wasn't sure if he was furious or not as he had a good poker face.

Though, he seemed annoyed at what he'd been told, not at her, but at all the guys and the comments.

Aoi and him sat at the dinner table for a while, chatting. It made her feel better. And she happily ate her donuts.

Not only sakura " (u know they defeat their ship like this) and I don't know but if someone (ss shippers) tell you something like that: he wants to kill everyone, he is not in his right mind, sakura was the last person he doesn't want to hurt her, killing sakura was dramatic for sasuke and ect...) ) what will you say to them? Anyway, how tiring must it be for such people to have to come up with such excuses? Why do they need other people to believe in them too? Nothing in the story proves whatever contradictions they're preaching. And yet. 

I would say nothing to them tbh because it is impossible to get through their thick skulls. Arguing is futile. They're thinking in delusional ways to protect a SS-Headcanon or Sakura in particular.

It seems they love to "forget" why this conflict even happened in the first place. The most infuriating thing about it is that a large portion truly hates Sasuke. One of the biggest excuses is always "well his character is just complex" which is true, but not an excuse for them to use as a Joker-card. Someone doesn't understand their SS-Headcanon? Well Sasuke's just complex they say and you don't understand it apparently. They say they're a fan but if they need to downplay his character for the sake of Sakura? No hesitation. 

And SS is for the sake of Sakura. You can't tell me otherwise. 

Yes, Sasuke almost killed Sakura during the Kage Arc if it weren't for Kakashi saving her ass. And then Naruto. But, this was a response to her coming to backstab him. Both figuratively as a supposed teammate/comrade, and literally with a poisoned kunai. Which may be one of the dumbest moves from someone who is objectively one of the smarter characters. Something Sasuke himself complimented her on when they were kids. Do you think this was accidental on Kishimoto's part? Of course not. Was Sasuke not allowed to defend himself? Why is this always left out of the conversation though? Sasuke easily sees right through her. Was he supposed to stand there, arms open wide and say "okay, I know you're lying to me, make everything about yourself again but come and kill me as you please"? She didn't even care to listen or understand the guy she supposedly loves so much. She can't have him? She can't understand his motives? It hurts her to see his actions unfold and it has nothing to do with her? Fine then die I guess. Because "bearing the burden" of killing him.. as she took upon herself which no one told her to btw, is still self-inserting herself onto him in a last-ditch effort. And superficial as hell. Naruto fought tooth and nail to understand Sasuke unlike her. Never mind all her teachers and friends she manipulated and put in danger while doing so. Why else would she also put herself in danger AGAIN for the second time when Kakashi pleaded.. well, ordered her not to. When he told her to stay back? When she absolutely knew she stood no chance? How many times do they have to tell her she's irrelevant to him? 

Because why was she so desperate? Why are their fans? 

Sasuke never cared to kill Sakura before that and didn't care for her life after. That much was clear as we saw during the War Arc. He thanked her for loving him which is seen as a rejection for mutual love btw and left her on a bench. Because yes, that's human decency. It's true that Sasuke saw her as a comrade when they were Genin but that's it. 

Sasuke needed to kill Naruto. Not Sakura. And the only reason he needed to do so was so he could be alone and away from that love. This is stated time and time again. Meaning: no one else. Even characters like Orochimaru and Kabuto who are great observers realized this early on. Important here being that Kishimoto chose to show this to us readers. 

But despite the killing part and negativity. Sasuke sacrificed his life for Naruto and his dreams as if it was natural. Sasuke didn't hesitate to stand up against Sakura for Naruto. He smirks and is playful with him yet cries after the confession in the end. He freely shows emotion around Naruto. "It's okay to cry when you're happy."

So what the hell are those shippers talking about? "..it was dramatic for Sasuke" they're pulling those statements out of their asses tbh.

I was thinking about Rin, Sakura and Karin and oh Sage, Karin really took a chidori to the chest just like Rin, but Sakura was able to heal her. Which it's complex enough, but then —in a twist of irony— Sasuke almost killed Sakura the same way.

The layers of that.

Kakashi killed Rin by accident. He killed her 'cause at the moment they need to stop the three tails from breaking free, and maybe Rin would die anyway, but at least that way they'd stop her from hurting her loved ones. Yet Rin knew, she knew that Kakashi wouldn't do it, didn't want to do it. He was crying, just a kid.

While Sasuke's psychological situation at the moment of his fight with Danzo was precarious, he did what he did because he chose to. Karin and Sakura were (in two different senses) on his way, but he wouldn't stop for them. Their lives weren't the most important thing at the moment.

Rin died at war after being kidnapped. She was the medic nin of her team. Her sensei, the fastest man maybe in the world, didn't arrive on time. And she died knowing she was loved, that her teammate deeply cared about her. She didn't see Obito mourning over her dead body, but there was someone there, they were both there. She was a good kunoichi until the end, the perfect teammate, a beloved friend.

Karin almost died because she wanted to help Sasuke. She went with him willingly. She didn't have a sensei to defend her and Sasuke told her to don't move to trick Danzo. He used her and then used her again to test Sakura. She was the medic nin of her team too. And the person who came to hold together was an enemy. In fact, was her rival in terms of love for Sasuke. The team of the boy that almost killed her. She almost die because she believed in her team. She thought he cared.

Sakura almost died because she was desperate to take the burden and get rid of it— she couldn't stand to see Sasuke losing himself, becoming someone he said he'd never be, or the thought of leaving the hurt to Naruto, because it pained her to see her teammates fighting to death. She went there lying to herself. She failed at being a good kunoichi, she couldn't be that cruel. And Sasuke had no problem with it, he was not naive, seeing her tears wouldn't stop him from completing his mission. But she —of the three of them— and a sensei that arrived always late except when she was in danger. She had a teammate that would anything to protect her. She was the medic nin of her team.

Thinking about it, medic nins do get chidoris to the chest all the time. Rin, Sakura, Karin, Haku. Kakashi's kills were an accident, but Sasuke's wouldn't have that excuse. Kakashi's kills were both kids giving their lives in exchange to protect the people they loved. Sasuke's kills were both girls that loved him, his teammates who had protect him and bring him company, but girls that he'd have no problem sacrificing in exchange of reaching his goals.

Take what I say with a grain of salt because my "source" comes from YouTube comments,but I still want to talk about these ships.

•Wyndia x Ren x Eclair

Let's take the easy one out: Ren x Eclair. Just look at their ages

Ren is only 16 while Eclair is 20.This is straight up ped*phil*a and extremely gross.Although Eclair's age is not stated in the anime she is obviously an adult woman,both her face and personality are similar to other adult women we see such as the Queen and Ost.Ren's age is revealed in the first episode, there's no excuse for this.

And don't give me the shit "They aged Ren up,he is 18 now so it's ok",no it isn't!!!

They just did the same thing thrice,the first was Raphtalia and the second was Wyndia.

And speaking of Wyndia,her ship with Ren is terrible!Not only does it suffer for the same reasons as Raphtalia x Naofumi does,a little girl falling in love with someone significantly older than her but still end up together,Ren also murder her father!!!

I don't care if he was manipulated into killing the dragon,he still killed Wyndia's father,end of discussion!

•Rishia x Itsuki

These two are literally Sasuke and Sakura, you cannot change my mind.A girl is so in love with a guy to the point where she would jump off a cliff if he asked her to,only for that guy to not give a fuck about her,treat her like shit and try to kill her.

Rishia seriously tried to commit su*cide because of this guy and people still want them to end up together? What?

Now don't get me wrong,her crush on Itsuki makes sense,he saved her from imprisonment and freed her.The only problem is that he didn't do it out of the goodness of his heart,he saved Rishia and took her in to feed his hero complex.He treated her like a maid,he didn't even bother to train her because he didn't want anyone to outshine him and when she proved herself on the battlefield he found an excuse to kick her out because his ego got bruised.

Like,I don't even like Rishia but homegirl deserves way better!

•Raphtalia x Naofumi

And now the moment you have all been waiting for, the myth,the legend,the GOAT,the first ever ship in the Shield Hero: Raphtalia x Naofumi.....

It sucks!

First of all, Raphtalia is Naofumi's slave. I understand that he bought her out of desperation and he treats her very well but it doesn't change the fact that their relationship is not balanced.Naofumi has all the power,he is the master and Raphtalia answers to him and him only.She can't say no to him and is forced to abide by his rules because no matter how "wholesome" their relationship may look they are still master and slave. Raphtalia has no autonomy and Naofumi has too much power over her.

Just because Raphtalia is no longer a slave and has been promoted to a Hero doesn't suddenly make her relationship with Naofumi any better. Their relationship is based on Stockholm Syndrome,a little slave girl is bought by a man and when she grows up she falls in love with her owner.In fact, she is so in love with him to the point where she willingly goes back to slavery to be with him.

What.The.Actual.Fuck.

And let's not forget the cherry on top,the pseudo-incest.Naofumi literally raised Raphtalia,he makes it crystal clear to her and the audience that he sees her as a daughter and people still insist on shipping this.

Not to mention how their relationship was presented in the earliest episodes.

Naofumi takes care of Raphtalia when she is sick,comforts her when she is having nightmares,teaches her how to be strong and how to survive,cuts her hair,feeds her and buys her a toy when he notices her looking at other kids playing.

I just described a single father trying to take care of his daughter,what part of any of that seemed romantic to you?

Even when Raphtalia grows up Naofumi still orders the kids meal for her because he still sees her like a kid,his little girl,his daughter!

Like,people will look at scenes like this and say "Ah yes,a man and his future wife,such a romantic moment". Absolutely disgusting!

In conclusion the ships in the Shield Hero are awful and straight up gross.The ped*phil*c undertones,the toxic and abusive relationships the powers imbalance between the pairs makes these shisp terrible!

We could have had a cool and unique premise with complex characters but nooo,everyone has to be paired up with someone,said people have zero to little personalities and we gloss over the character development so we can see them hold hands or something.

What a waste of characters and story!
