me: i finished the latest trailblaze mission in hsr so i can look at what other people are posting now! oh boy i hope it's discussions and theories about the story. i can't wait to see what everyone thought about firefly (what was going on with you sweetie...) and A Child's Dream - that segment in particular really left a profound impact on me. like who is mikhail? the voice we hear throughout is obviously misha's - did he have a twin? does mikhail have something to do with clockie? and from what we heard and saw, misha or... mikhail. encountered the embodiment of Death that lurks beneath the dreamscape. what's... the full story there...? i can't wait to see other people's perspectives it'll help me piece a more coherent theory together-
other hsr fans: *thirstposting about aventurine and/or dr. ratio, trying to cancel sparkle even though the entire point of her character is that yes she's a horrible person because it's high time we see how DANGEROUS and CRUEL the masked fools can be - no more reducing them to the silly wacky hijinks sampo pulled on jarilo; you should be scared of these guys; the game's story never wanted you to make sparkle your next skrunkly blorbo babygirl lol, heated discussions about whether dr. ratio displayed the same racism towards aventurine that sparkle did and if that makes aventurine/ratio a bad thing to ship (??????????), more thirstposts about aventurine, 500 billion generic yaois of aventurine and ratio that don't even maintain either of their characters*

Do you mind if I share some speculations on our favorite bug man?
I think you're right in that Howdy has caught onto something being off about their world. But he can't just jump up and tell everyone that they are living in a simulation. So he has to watch and wait for everyone else to realize it in their own time.
But
In his heart, he is a lovable asshole. And an asshole he will be!
Sally got close to figuring out that the food are props, but it hasn't clicked yet. Until then, the lable on the "mashed potatoes" is just a marketing ploy.
And sure, Howdy knows the blowing balls are made of foam, but Eddie doesn't know that! So Howdy sends him off, watching him struggle to carry something that weighs next to nothing.
Maybe if they interact with enough props, they'll catch on, too? In the meantime, Howdy is gonna have fun messing with everyone.
ohhhh i Do like this interpretation! where he's actually trying to clue them in, not just going "well. this might as well happen". and doing it his own... uh... Special way....

reading baldur's gate fic is so funny to me sometimes because almost every single tav i've read is like. a nerd. awkward. stuck in a library/commune/forest and doesn't know How To Do People. combat unready. a wee paper slip of a person. self-doubting and uncertain.
whereas i am out here with my bard who dumped all her stats in charisma and perception and therefore is no longer able to fail a persuasion check. and my personal backstory for her is that she's an insanely well known frontman for a rock band in baldur's gate so literally everyone they meet knows who she is. nonstop flirt. clocks manipulation left and right because seeing through performances is like half of her skillset. oh yeah. and she can fucking oneshot you by being mean in your direction.

I’m sorry I can’t get into and fully appreciate intelligent media, you see I’m a simple minded dumbass that needs to be roped into it first by some personal incentive long enough for my critical thinking to actually kick in
I can’t be an intellectual like some of you, I need my simple pleasures for my garbage brain if you’ll excuse me

Ohhhhhhe man listen
I just got done with...heaviness. But somehow, made it out. And it feels good to get back on track with some posting. I am just now trying to keep up with Man to Engines by @crossover-fraternity and their friends, and the last I saw was still around the part where the boys were in a hangar? Or something? And they were learning about these new powers they got? I think? And getting debriefed on something by the leader, an original character.
But NOW there’s this whole scene I’m looking at with Thomas (zombie-ish au? I think idak?) and Glory(an au D10!) where they’re both on the floor and decommissioned by something and they’re talking in morse code and I’m like YEAH?????????

hey saw u got asks about the kamdens dad situation and i kinda wanted to share more just since the entire situation is really crazy. basically mr na has been hosting twitter spaces where he’s been sharing incredibly personal family details about things like family suicides and keeps giving these really backhanded compliments to kamden. he said “Tbh, I’m his biggest critic. I was worried about his singing despite him working so hard on his dancing. He worked really hard on his rapping and now, he’s not bad.” he also made some really insensitive comments about how the bit with the native american headdress wasn’t cultural appropriation even tho kamden was the only one who wasn’t laughing at it during the show. kamden actually called him in the middle of his last space to ask him to end it. i felt like i should share just cuz while some ppl r being rude i didnt want ppl calling mr na’s actions wrong to be misinterpreted as talking about a different situation.
I'll start by saying I guess this is a continuation from the earlier stuff? Like, he's just going on and on? But, again, this is a grown man. Of course, it can be seen as off putting, but he's no different than any parent on facebook oversharing on what their kids are up to (maybe not but I don't know how twt really works so I'm not sure what the spaces were like). There's really nothing wrong with any of this, except for the suicides, that's a bit questionable. He's not keeping up with the internet the way most bp watchers are. He's just a middle-aged man talking to the void. He's probably just really into the fact that he can talk to people who know who kamden is (parents aren't exactly known to be the most private about their kids, les be real here). Or the fact that he can talk to people who support his son the same way he does.
The criticisms aren't that much of a red flag either, in my opinion (could be because I grew up in the same boat) but from my understanding, most parents are their kids' #1 critic, and maybe it's just the quote you chose, but that doesn't seem so backhanded. It seems pretty objective to me? He's not coming off as insulting or overly praising. Just stating what it is.
The cultural stuff isn't really my place to comment on because I missed that bit entirely. I don't know what was said.
And I think the person who called had to have been kamden's twin. Trainees can't have their phones. Or at least can't make it known that they have them. Everyone who's ever been on the show makes a big deal of having no personal technology.

Reasons why Jon Archivist is truly a character of all time:
Had the police called on him several times when he was a young child
Keeps his rib and the ashes of the season one antagonist next to his stationary drawer
Promised he wouldn’t get lost in tunnels and then immediately got lost in aforementioned tunnels
Has no clue what a joke is
Learned how remarkably easy it is to buy an ax in central London
Had to have two separate interventions
Told people his place of employment before traumatising them for life
The first character he ever said ‘I love you’ to is a cat
Allegedly participated in amdram
Watches documentaries and collects some kind of weird shit (my headcanon is Soviet Union postcards) when he’s not being a paranoid mess
Canonically looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks
Knows nothing about library science
Fell head over heels for a man that he hated until he learned he lied on his resumé
Has been referred to as Jesus or Jesus-adjacent at least twice
Asexual icon
Knows what a meme is and said “LOL” in the first episode
Rode on a merry-go-round sometime during his university days because he was in a weird place emotionally
Died for our Jonathan Sins
Is probably a computer now playing minesweeper with his boyfriend and evil 200+ year old boss
