#sorry #i saw the first “we don't celebrate halloween” post with Joshua 24:15 on it #the first of many to come im sure #*sigh*#like... i get it... i do...#but also...#why willing hand over a christian holiday and basically say this is the devil's now #no day belongs to the devil they all belong to God #and this is specifically a christian holiday #the fact that pretty much all countries had a harvest festival shows that is a universal time for celebration #that some of them where dedicated to false gods is irrelevant. just dedicate it to the true God who actually brings the harvest #and lets stop the whole halloween is samhain nonsense... firstly samhain is not assigned a specific date and halloween is #secondly it had to be initiated by a druid and being a druid was connected to specific bloodlines that haven't been maintained #so the druids died out and there isn’t anyone who can initiate samhain #so can we just stop?#unironically christian #halloween #christmas #easter #might as well add these tags too because people to the same thing with them 🙄

ok not to be that guy but like. labor rights and working class rights can coexist with 24h services and late amenities. its certainly hard to do so without worker exploitation in this political and social environment, it’s not a conflict likely to resolve overnight. but 24h services are important and especially valuable to those of us that are disabled or are on a different circadian rhythm. in fact more professional, health, and government services should be available or at least possible to work on asynchronously (if applicable) during late or odd hours, while workers also get sufficient pay for their labor and proper consistent scheduling. this would be much easier on the workers with night schedules if the entire professional world didn’t grind to a halt at 5pmEST

#just like. it doesn’t have to be this way #the number of people I’ve talked to who would absolutely do a night schedule if it didn’t suck ass because you can never get anything done #like. go to the doctor. without waking up at your equivalent of 2am to make their latest afternoon slot #the sleep deprivation of trying to keep a normal schedule and trying to get stuff done sometimes on my natural schedule are like #the same. I started getting fevers any time I stayed up longer than 14 hours bc I had to do it so often to make appts #it’s only a little better now because I’ve been strict with a schedule that’s somewhere in the middle #so I at least have 2 hours to try and do stuff before the entire country fucks off to bed #.txt

We were watching the glass blowing competition show on netflix because it's really cool to see those talented artists do their thing...

But I will NEVER forgive the judges for eliminating an amazing artist who's concept was that plastic hamster tubes are actually dangerous for hamsters yet they are normalized in our society so they made a beautiful glass rendition of an endless loop of colorful hamster tubes as an expression of how we can be trapped by society in a loop of behavior that is normalized but actually killing us

And the judges were like "this isnt DEEP ENOUGH" because they dont care enough about hamsters to learn and interpret the artist's statement at the level it was meant for.

They literally saw the glass renditions of colorful tubes that represent suffering and being trapped in a glossy predesigned hell and went "this is too normal and isnt saying anything important actually" Fuck them!!!!

Anyways Gemma should have won and I'm so happy to see that she didn't let it stop her amazing concept and she continued with it outside of the time constraints of the show. Fuck yes Gemma

#i will never get over this #her concept is insanely empathetic and REAL. SO REAL but the judges fucking saw it as something so normal like #the whole POINT was that its normalized but deadly! like so many things we are forced to do in life nowadays #anyways gemma should have won #blown away #mine

But I ultimately might would go for the house #JUST becuase it would be my Dream House which means it would already meet mostly all of my specifications #and what I might be looking for. which would save a lot of time searching or customizing/rennovating.#Also because I could use that as a way to leave the US lol.. like .. if I get to choose my dream location.. couldnt I just choose some othe #country?? But I wonder how that works. Can you legally 100% have full ownership of a property in a country yet not be a citizen of that #country?? Would you show up and be like 'erm.. i own this house.. so i shall now live in it' and theyd be like 'uh no. you cant live here #despite owning the house. leave.' ??#So I think the initial process of 1. scraping together funds to actually MOVE myself and my most valuable belongings physically #TO another country. and 2. figuring out how to STAY in that country . might end up being difficult.. BUT. if I could just work that #part of things out then.. dream house?? security for once in my life?? stability?? :0 #Though the $1mil is enticing it's also like.. I feel .. with the way housing prices are now... that's not much???#it's a lot I guess if you plan on like.. investing half the money and staying in an apartment for 5 years while you grow your wealth #or something. but if you're a 'I Need Stability NOW' ready to settle down person who would be most interested in owning a property rather #than nice clothes or a car or whatever other investments you could make then.. eh..?? It seems like unless you're okay with living in #a small town or kind of far away from the city - even some SMALL houses in majorly populated areas in the US will be like #$600.000 - $900.000 or something. like that would be MOST of my money. Which I know you could just pay partially and make #payments on it but idk.. in the option of just outright owning the house it seems like it'd end up being cheaper.#Plus I would want to own it fully asap because I'd be afraid of losing it somehow otherwise. like it being taken for medical bills or #something. which I thought was supposed to be - not IMPOSSIBLE - slightly more complicated legally if you actually have #paid off the house in full. I guess the issue then would be utilities and property tax and such. But I feel like thats overcome-able??#Like I could just stipulate that my Dream House has a little furnished addition or something and then find someone #with money and be like 'Look you can live in this extremely nice area with amazing ameneties and updated everything and ALL you have #to do is give me money to cover the utilities and property tax.'' or something like that. Like the little furnished addition is nicer #than the actual house. they have their own pool and spa and movie room or something and Ill also cook all their meals for them #or whatever (how luxurious it would be depeneds on how high the property tax actually is/how much I would need to entice them into #why it's a good deal for them to pay it for me lol). idk... something like that.. ANYWAY #I asked a few people I know though and one of them answered they'd rather have a romantic partner. the other one said they'd like #to be able to choose someone to die lol.. that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol
