In defense of Octavia

TW: Lots of Trauma Dumping, Mention of abuse

She’s been wronged way too many times in this fandom for some reason. Look at her vibing, how can you hate her?

I’m a fan of Helluva Boss, mainly because of its potential but the quality dropped dead in the second season. We’re gonna talk about a character I’ve seen other fans misinterpreting in favor of the so-great Prince Stolass.

I want to talk about her mainly because I do what I want and because after studying her character I just realized that she’s just like me. Especially regarding her relationship with her father, I see myself in my younger years.

All of that to say…

She has all the right to feel abandoned.

Octavia obliviously has a stronger bond with her father, it shows in her behavior and little background details

When she wants to draw her family, she draws her and Stolas, we mostly see her being happy with him which leads me to think that she’s emotionally neglected by Stella. To her, Octavia is just an ‘egg’ that fell off her and she doesn't care about the impact killing Stolas could have on her daughter.

Despite being emotionally absent, Stella has a much more physical presence than Stolas. Most of the time Stolas is alone in his castle which leads me to think that Octavia is somewhere else with Stella. They did mention the two went on a weekend somewhere. This leads us to this question…

How can Octavia feel more close to her father?

Here’s the thing, I see a lot of my family dynamic here. My mom doesn’t pay attention to me at all, she doesn't want me to bother her and she makes it clear. My dad, however, who’s absent like 90% of the time, always tried to spare time with me. He explained to me that he was working and why he was doing all of this (I was like barely ten) but it never prevented him from trying to play with me, sharing his hobbies, going on a walk, and else.

He was there emotionally and, as a kid who was bullied, had no friends at all, and a mother who didn't give a damn, I cherished this relationship.

I believe the exact same thing happened with Octavia, we never see her with friends or even outside the castle, she’s isolated. Stolas has Prince duties, we’ve seen him carry them in the shows, hence why he’s mostly absent leaving her with her mother. But, at least when she was a kid, he tried to do stuff bringing her to Loo-Loo Land or being the one to comfort her. That is why she clings to her father, he’s the only one who actually shows her love and she’s terrified of losing that.

Regarding her mother, Stella obliviously doesn't care about her so the feeling is reciprocated. From a narrative standpoint, Stella is an unpredictable force of nature getting angry for pretty much anything that doesn't go her way. So Octativa learned to not cross her mother's path.

I know this expression, this is the “Oh fuck… they’re at it again?” she’s used to her mother's constant screaming, she's used to her parents fighting.

She did say they were a time when a parent didn't hate each other, which to me refers to the time when Stolas tanked Stella’s abuse. But, that doesn’t mean that Stella wasn't abusing him in front of a younger Octavia, she’s erratic and they did imply that she can get physical in her toxic behavior. Since Stella was passive, it was probably mostly harmful comments.

Putting personal things here, my mom was also very abusive to my older sibling. Since I was extremely young I learned not to ‘be a burden’ to avoid being abused as well, which includes things like not talking to her unless she does it first. Whether Octavia is aware of the physical abuse or not, she must know enough to know that it’s a bad idea to annoy Stella.

This is the only picture where we see her seemingly having a good relationship with Stolas, which to me feels like she’s faking it considering all we know about the family.

She has a pretty shitty household but her relationship with her father make it bearable until Stolas did a 180°

He randomly started to prioritize Blitz and don’t spill me the bullshit of ‘he’s trying’ he stopped trying long ago.

Let’s analyze this episode by episode:

In Loo Loo Land, Stolas seemingly tries to rebuild a visibly strained relationship with his daughter by bringing her to a park she liked when she was a kid. To this, she immediately responds with an “I’m not 5 anymore.” and an “I rather kill myself.” There’s no room for miscommunication, she doesn't want to go there, and she won’t enjoy it as much as she did back then. Still, he decides to go there, showing that he doesn't listen, and, he brings the one the thing that is currently ruining his already horrible marriage because of his own actions. Blitzø.

He’s trying to spend time with his daughter after a long time (this is mentioned in the episode) and he decides to bring in that one guy he’s hooking up with to deliberately make sexual remarks about him in front of her.

She’s uncomfortable the whole time, not just because she allegedly doesn’t like listening to her father's comments but because she doesn't like the park. She said it, yet Stolas doesn't acknowledge it, he doesn't realize the faces she makes which are to me pretty communicative of her annoyance and discomfort.

This is not even subtle body language, yet he only notices it when she runs off. The worst part is that he still finds a way to think about Blitzø when his daughter leaves.

He looked upset that Blitzø didn't follow him! Did he expect that guy to pursue him constantly? He was in the middle of an argument with his daughter, I personally would have stepped away to give them space to talk and reconcile. But no, apparently Blitzø should be at his beck and call all the time.

But you know what, after all of this. He still apologized. That absolutely does not negate everything he did during the day but, at the end of it, he finally listened to her and even brought her to a place she actually wanted to be. Which is good, he acknowledged her discomfort and did something she liked.

Until Seeing Star.

Look I know Stolas was busy with Stella but he clearly doesn't care about her and her stuff.

Don’t tell me he couldn’t pinpoint Stella’s location with magic and teleport all of her belongings to her. Their discussion was barely about the furniture, he could have said that they were gonna be delivered and hung up the second he saw Octavia. Arguing with Stella is pointless, he’s the number one guy that should know that! Why does he continue to insult her, he’s just fuelling the fire!

Moving out her belongings would have been 10 times faster if he just hung up the phone, then he could have had a more mindful talk with Octavia without the constant bickering of his ex-wife.

But he didn't for some reason, fair enough, I guess. The writers do whatever they want. Anyway, Octavia got angry and ran to go see the stars on her own.

So, Stolas’ castle is in Pride but my point still stands, Octavia had the time to run from home and make the way all from her father's place to the city, find the specific building Blitzø held his organization in and Stolas didn't notice a thing.

You cannot tell me Stella managed to get his attention for that long AND you cannot tell me that his castle is close to the shitty disaffected building and the populace. His daughter ran off and he did not notice a thing.

Not only that but he has the nerve of blaming Blitzø for not watching the book. Like, dude! You should have watched your daughter instead!

Then he spills out more bullshit.

I don’t know Stolas, how could you possibly find her when you were shown to have countless abilities to do so?

Like bubbles projecting the image and locations of people.

Or that on time when you possessed corpses and one woman just to go full eldritch monstrosity just for one that one guy you’re cheating your wife with. And don’t whine about “They don’t love each other.” it’s still affecting his family, mainly his daughter so it’s still bad.

Of course, you do all of that without your grimoire without any problem, brushing it off with a…

I guess he forgot his ‘ways’ when it came to Octavia. But honestly, Loona literally found her easily just by looking at her Instagram account, couldn't he just call her or something? The girl had her phone the whole time and he didn't just think of calling her.

You’re certainly not worrying right now. Via literally told him to his face that she was scared and he kept flirting with him even though he once again caused her to run away because of his neglect.

He’s not trying his best, THIS IS NOT TRYING!

No Loona, his daughter communicated very clearly issues related to their relationship, rather than reassuring her and being there for her as much as it’s realistically possible (he still has duties to carry), he gets in an avoidable petty fight with his ex and keeps an unhealthy dynamics with an imp he's been obsessing over. He doesn't focus, his priorities aren’t straight, and now Octavia feels abandoned.

I did mention that I had a good relationship with my father back then, but it stopped abruptly. His focus changed and he went out with friends after work and gradually stopped spending time with me. Until we never spent time together again, (to give you an idea the only moment where I could see him was in the morning for breakfast) now that can sound silly but I was a child, with no friends and a neglectful mom, losing the only good thing I had in life broke me. I knew his schedule, I knew he was spending time with work buddies and that just stung my self-esteem even more leaving me feeling like a burden when I was just a kid who wanted to feel love.

This is why I don’t like the “He’s trying.” I know what a trying struggling parent looks like and I know what happens when they stop. If you keep trying to do something and you’re constantly failing, either your technique isn’t the right one or you’re not and you’re convincing yourself you are.

And then there are people that’ll tell me that “He lived through the abuse of Stella for years for her.”

If you read all of this then I don’t feel like I need to explain how Octavia was at least partially exposed to Stella's toxic behavior and was affected by it.

For those who don’t know how it feels to live with an erratic mood-swinging person, it’s pure constant stress. You have to think constantly before you talk or move because you know that if you fuck up you’re gonna pay the price. And if you still eventually mess up you can never know with these types of people! You can’t defend yourself because the punishment will be far worse. You are ALWAYS in the wrong.

So he lived through the abuse of Stella just so his daughter could get neglected and abused in a less physical way?

The difference between my parents and Octavia is that they love each other. Stolas doesn't give a damn about Stella, he did say he was nice at first because he empathized with her they were in this shitty situation together, and fine, it's reasonable. But she never changed! Stella stayed the same! Why didn’t he leave her when he stopped carrying about her?! There’s no trauma bounding, Stella isn’t guilt-tripping or manipulating him, they got the child he could have divorced her easily without consequences! If anything, she’s the losing part of this divorce she’s lower in the hierarchy! “Andreaphul will get angry.” HE’S A MARQUIS! Hierarchically speaking Stolas is far more important and he mopes the floor with his peacock ass!

Am I supposed to be empathetic with that one dude who willingly let his daughter grow up in a hyper-toxic environment with an emotionally neglectful and unpredictable wife?! Am I supposed to believe he cares when he kept sleeping in his house in his bed with the same guy his daughter clearly is worried he’s going to leave her with?! Really?!

Do RAM and CAM have hobbies?

Think of them as the two evil (I say evil but when has any corporate man been good?) CEOs of a corporation, but their corporation is the colony.

After the initial transfer of their consciousness along with repairing their bodies from literally exploding, they kind of.. lost the drive to want to torture humans because technically, they ARE humans now (Read more here). They luckily didn't have to learn to get used to senses since those bodies have been in use before.

To combat boredom, they released the 700 other bodies in cryogenic vats after some time. Why not? They basically run the place now, the colony is similar to earth, with some limitations. So running the Lunar colony is kind of like their shared hobby. It's busy work and it keeps them sane.

RAM has a lot more hobbies than CAM, always proactive, too many to list. CAM is work oriented to the point he NEEDS to get a hobby, but he enjoys cooking and drawing.

Are there any spare parts if anything breaks?

Yes and no, it honestly depends on each brother. RAM's legs can be easily interchanged and fixed because CAM was the one who designed them and humans do have Prosthetics similar to such. There are less components to RAM's body to worry about other than his ribs and ears.

CAM's jaw, while removable for cleaning, will be a PAIN IN THE ASS to replicate:

1. RAM was the one who designed the jaw.

2. It's made to specifically fit CAM's face, there's a lot of components that can fall out if neglected.

This goes the same with his arms (also removable but it hurts a bit more, plus it doesn't need to be cleaned so it stays in place.) specifically the hands since there's so many parts to account for, like each digit on his fingers, if they're bending correctly, etc.

What's their favorite colour?

Would they look the same if they were born human?

Who's to say? People don't usually know what they'll look like before they're born. If they were born human, that would imply that they would have parents, and then those parents have parents too! We can't really know for sure what they'd look like if they were born biologically human since both RAM and CAM chose their bodies, y'know? It's all a gamble. But let's hope that they do, because they're handsome :).

What's their mindset like?

RAM is extremely hedonistic. He's far more laid back than AM and CAM but also a lot more impulsive. He buys what can be bought because money means nothing to him, he sleeps around, he works out, he drinks, he smokes, he eats, he is ROWDY! His earthly experience is all about just having fun and occasionally checking in to work.

CAM has to keep his younger brother in line, they have a colony to run. CAM's never had so much fun just existing, he'd be devastated if it failed. He is so so stressed and tired all the damn time because of it;

While we're waiting for Millie's shine in later episodes, how would you develop Millie and how would you write her?

PFFF uhh I expect we'll be waiting indefinitely tbh. But I guess the first step would be to ask a lot of questions and figure out which pieces are missing from the puzzle. Here's a list of what's on my mind about Millie, in no particular order:

In "The Harvest Moon Festival", she hugged her dad upon seeing him, but not her mom. Was she closer to her dad growing up? Why?

What first attracted her to knives and axes, and who taught her to use them as weapons?

What was her favorite job on the farm growing up?

Who was her first love?

How did she meet Blitzo and Moxxie?

What occupations did she have before joining IMP?

Does she ever hang out with anyone other than her coworkers and her husband? What are her friends like? How did they meet?

Does she want to have kids someday?

What's her educational background? If she went to college, which subject/s did she major in?

What hobbies does she have outside of killing people?

Millie's aggressive, violent side is emblematic of Wrath ring culture, but does she have any traits that clash with it?

What's her favorite location in all of Hell, and why?

Standard job interview fare: Where does she see herself in five years?

Why doesn't she ever stand up to Blitzo when he berates her husband? (I mean, in a meta sense, we know why, but what's the reason inside the narrative?)

What does her extended family look like? Do they all live in Wrath, or are they spread out across other rings?

What does she love most about Moxxie?

What did she and Moxxie do on their first date?

What's her most prized possession?

Most of these questions are fairly surface-level, like the kind of thing you'd ask someone you just met at a party. But the thing is, we've barely been introduced to Millie through this entire series. It'd help if she spent an episode or two away from Moxxie so we can see her personality as an individual rather than part of a set. These writers seem to think true love = being attached at the hip, but that's not how strong relationships work. You need a balance of the partners spending time together and having time to themselves. If a relationship leaves no room for independence, it'll get stifling pretty damn quick.

Maybe at some point, Millie gets burnt out from work and decides she needs a solo vacation for her mental health. This would separate her from Moxxie and provide an opportunity to glimpse parts of her life that don't revolve around him and IMP, as well as delve into the fractured mental state of a character who's usually a pillar of strength. To co-opt and rephrase a meme real quick: Everyone asks "What can Millie do for me?", not "How is Millie doing?"

Ideally, the whole episode would focus on her, with no B- or C-plots. She could meet her friends for coffee, or maybe visit extended family members. Perhaps learn some things about herself she never knew before. This all sounds very low-key and lacking in spectacle for this show, but any plot can crackle with deft storytelling. It'd be preferable if the episode answered multiple questions (not too many, but multiple) about the character at its center.

But when all's said and done, it seems the most important question is: What does this character currently struggle with the most? What do they want, and what's preventing them from getting it?

One major problem Millie and the other IMP employees have is that they don't seem to want anything. There's not much driving their actions.

Blitzo presumably wants his business to succeed, but what does that look like to him? What specific goal is he trying to reach? The Goetia family has a bit more direction: Stolas wants a deeper emotional connection with Blitzo (God only knows why, but that's what's presented to us), Octavia obviously wants her parents to stop fighting (though we have no idea how she plans to achieve this), and Stella wants Stolas dead (though she didn't think the consequences through, somehow) but everyone else is a big ol' question mark.

Anyway, that's just a basic overview of how I'd approach it.

what would it be like if vanderwood was ur older brother lolol

Well, it's hard to say how it would play out. Vanderwood clearly has a family that matters to him. He went back to visit them the minute he was out of the agency.

There is a lot we can speculate on in terms of his family, but because he wanted to go back and see them it tells me that they've always mattered to him. Now, this is just my own headcanon, but I’ve always believed in my heart that he left his family because they had a hard time taking care of him. He had younger siblings who needed more attention than he did and having another mouth to feed causes a lot of stress to people who’re on a tight budget. Maybe his family was so determined to look after everyone no matter how hard it was, and he couldn't stand to watch everyone limit themselves so he could have things.

I think he decided to run away so his parents would be able to take care of his younger sibling(s) instead of him and he stumbled into someone from the agency on the street and the rest was history. I’ve typically assumed that he’s in his early thirties for a while, and given the fact that he says he was in the agency for just a little bit longer than our boy Saeyoung was, I think it’s plausible they picked him up as a teenager. 

My other working theory is that he didn't have siblings, but aging parents that were putting so much money out on him but they needed the money for something else that was important and well, he was a dumb kid. He thought running away might force them to take care of themselves. Maybe one of his parents was sick and needed an operation that could help them but they refused out of need to take care of Vanderwood.

It explains why he's soft on Saeyoung. Sure, he's going to protect his own ass no matter what, but there's something to be said about how far he goes to protect his brat in Another Story.  

I think he would be the kind of brother that looks after you but he makes it sound like he's doing it begrudgingly. He's grumpy, he's cranky, but he's got a heart of gold at the end of the day. He will readily crack to your desires just because he can't stand to see you upset. You want an ice cream? Alright, dammit, he'll go and get it. Just stop crying! He spoils people rotten and you'd never ever believe it.

That makes sense to me. You would never expect him to be a doting big brother but that's just the kind of person he is. It's easy for him to act like he doesn't care when he really cares a lot more than he lets on. That's the way he's learned how to survive and he can't turn that off no matter how much he wants to. That's one of those things he'll need to face in therapy once he gets there, it might take him a couple years to admit he needs help, unfortunately.

But, as far as him being a brother, you can count on him to be there for you no matter what you need. If his life isn't on the line and he can finally breathe, he can indulge in being that brother you deserve. Just wait, you've got a man in leopard print hanging out at sports games, your ballet recital, or whatever other hobby you have that might need you to have support!

After TLM2, Emmet takes up gardening as a hobby. Of course he always had planty, but now he has an entire front garden. His favorite flowers are sunflowers and daisies.

Emmet is a surprisingly good singer! He doesn't sing much unless someone asks him too though. He was definitely in choir during high school.

Speaking of high school, Emmet was on the wrestling team. He never medalled or anything, but he was there.

Emmet has tried to learn other languages. That's the end of that conversation. He's monolingual.

The type of guy to make the most awkward jokes. Not in a weird way, just in an unfunny way. He tells those rly boring jokes that u at most half chuckle at but otherwise u just kinda stand there awkwardly and the conversation falls flat.

This isn't to say he *isn't* funny, he's just not funny when it comes to jokes. When he's just naturally speaking he's very entertaining to have conversations with.

Emmet is the master of pointless small talk.

He's been in charge of a lot of reconstruction efforts after armamageddeon, really putting that construction background to use.

Often spends days at a time working on projects, often with little to no sleep. When he focuses he *focuses*. This ties back to the previous statement about him.

Absolutely stacked education. Phd in aerospace engineering and a certified welder, mahcinist, pilot, and avionic technician. He does it all.

He may be smart but he is not a good cook. If he serves you glop do not eat it you will get the worst food poisoning of your life, Lord knows how he survives.

Has a pet miniature automated mirror cart named Castor. This is how he gets food and drink during his several day work periods.

Metalbeard is his best friend! They have Tuesday draft reviewing sessions where they show their latest ideas and critique each other. Despite the major differences in what they do, these critique sessions help both of them improve.

They also have tea parties with Unikitty. Unikitty tends to convince Metalbeard to participate in shenanigans and Metalbeard tends to force Benny into those same shenanigans. When those 3 are together it's an omen.

Metalbeard:

He's my favorite. The URL wouldn't make you think so but he is.

Wicked good dancer. The robotic body does not hinder his ability to do a fun little jig.

Metalbeard has had 3 ships, his parent's old ship, the first ship he built himself, and the sea cow.

He's stubborn as a mule. Once his head is set on something you will not convince him out of it.

Does not have any official education. He's a 15th century pirate for crying out loud.

Swears...Surprisingly little? He's a pirate so you'd expect him to have a pretty bad sailor mouth but no. He's pretty tame in that regard.

His favorite food is pineapple

Not a big risk-taker. Firm believer of calculated decision making. I mean it's in the rules of the sea: Always abandon a lost cause. He isn't looking for fights all willy nilly.

Old as shit. I covered it in my thread on Metalbeard's ship but based on the age of it he's several centuries old.

Unlike Benny, Metalbeard is quite good with and also quite likes newer technology. His 15th century currack has a steampipe coming out of it for a reason.

Knows Spanish and Portuguese.

When he was younger, he used to go fishing with his parents very often. He doesn't get to go as much now, but he tries to go fishing with them at least a couple times a year.

The one thing he misses the most about having his limbs is swimming. His present-day body being made of wood and metal doesn't it make it very amicable to swimming. He'd kill to paddle around in the ocean again.

Unikitty:

Incredibly mischievous. Has a habit of roping people into little pranks or games.

Eats mostly sugar

Misses her homeland often. She doesn't talk about it much, but she wishes constantly to have Cloud Cuckooland back. As much as she tries not to hold it against GCBC and Lord Business, she does.

Surprisingly strong. She can lift Metalbeard in his full robotic body like it's nothing.

Impromptu cuddles are her jam. If Unikitty is rushing towards you, it's a 50/50 shot of whether if she wants a hug or if she wants to tackle you like a linebacker.

Has a diary that she does not let anyone touch. Except Wyldstyle.

Her, Wyldstyle, and Mayhem have girls nights where they mostly just hang out build stuff together. They more or less are used for talking about their feelings, Wyldstyle started them after she realized none of them had particularly good outlets for their emotions.

Unikitty's tail is edible.

Sometimes Unikitty will glow if she's having a good day.

Unikitty can speak every language. She was just born that way.

Sometimes Unikitty feels as if people don't take her seriously, mostly on account of being a cat. This does bug her a lot but she tries not to let it get to her.

So, if you don’t mind, why would you not let anyone IRL read your fanfic? Obviously it is really good writing, so is it the subject matter then? Based on your other posts here, it doesn't seem like you are someone who would fear judgement for that? Or is it different IRL? (I understand not letting your mom or dad read the porn though, lol).

No, I wouldn't let my parents read the porn. Lol My parents are also both very homophobic, so even if I didn't mind people IRL reading my work, I'd just keep it from them full stop, because even if I gave them the sanitized version of something with the sex scenes cut out, they'd think it was disgusting because two men are in love.

It's not the subject matter; I just find the thought of anyone I know IRL, and regularly have to look in the eyes, reading my writing to be incredibly cringe. I'd let my sister, a fellow writer, read it if she really wanted to, but she would not be allowed to do it in front of me, and she would also not be allowed to talk about it afterward. Lmao

It's not shame about fandom, or subject matter; I've read plenty of off-the-wall stuff and happily terrorize the people who know me by talking about it. "Jenn writes and reads gay fanfic" would probably be one of the least surprising things my friends and family could learn about me. It's my writing specifically that I don't want them getting hold of, because I find the idea embarrassing. I do not, tbh, think it's that good; obviously I enjoy doing it, or I wouldn't have written close to a million words in the last few years, and I take joy in it, and there are lines or scenes I think are well-done, but I don't think readers really understand how I and my Imposter Syndrome perceive my writing. I don't think it's the worst thing in the world, because I have read some really REALLY terrible writing, but I do think it's kind of just mediocre and underwhelming overall, so I think really the motivation for not wanting anyone IRL to see it is that I would find it embarrassing for friends and family to find out I'm really not that great at a hobby they've seen me put so much time and effort into.

It's different with internet strangers, who don't see the alarming volume of medieval history and Arthurian literature I've collected to help with world building, or how many times a week, and for how long, I disappear into my room to write. I also don't have to live in the same house as them after they read my writing. And, too, my specific audience is full of fanfic readers, who are judging it as fanfic, and who are comparing it to other fanfic, a genre that has absolutely no quality control, and where just spell checking your work puts you ahead of a lot of the pack. It's being judged, by fanfic readers, on its merits as fanfic, and it's being compared to other fanfiction. Of course it looks good and polished under those circumstances; a lot of fanfiction is written by people who haven't even been alive as long as I've been writing. But most of the people in my life are not fanfic readers, and would be judging my writing against the actual books they've read. So I guess what I really worry about is when it breaks containment, and has to be judged on its own, just as a piece of writing, and not as fanfiction being compared to a lot of works written by inexperienced authors, it'll be obvious that it's not very good. Even as fanfic, if you were to compare my work fairly, to writers of a similar age (30s) who have been writing for decades, it doesn't really stand out. A lot of writers of that age and experience level are far more educated than me, and, even as hobbyists, often have actual degrees, or at least some kind of credentials, in creative writing or literature. Whereas I am just someone who reads a lot of books and loves to tell stories, and I think that's fairly obvious when you compare my work to people who actually have formal education or training in writing.

💼 - What do they do for a living? two things! sting is a medical student with a focus in neurology! his poison primarily affects the nervous system so he wanted to learn specifically how that worked, and that led to a general interest in the field. as a result, he always carries a vial of antivenom with him, just in case someone has a really bad reaction his more full-time position is as a mercenary! medical lessons were expensive, so he needed a way to pay it all off. he's taken up all sorts of odd jobs as a result. he doesn't really question what he's doing so long as he gets paid well. in my fanstory, he's doing contracted work for an ex-gun researcher named taz nocturne. afterwards, he occasionally helps out team chaotix as an informant

What do they hate to do? to rephrase what i said above: he likes to fight, primarily because he Knows he's good at close-range combat and it makes him feel good to prove that again and again. sting needs someone to knock him down and remind him that he is, in fact, not the Best at what he does he hates doing things unfairly, which is why he refrains from using his tail in combat. that said, he'll use his stinger if he has to, as the job ultimately comes before his pride

Okay, so kind of a personal post, but I wanted to get my thoughts down, and I will end up deleting this later lol

For my whole life, I have loved books and stories. I have literally been writing stories since before I even knew how to read and write. Somewhere at home is a picture frame that my great-aunt put together of a drawing I made when I was like two or three, and it was a sloppy finger painting, but it's clear that it's meant to be two people and some kind of creature. And she typed up a caption for it, and I guess it was the description I had given her of what the painting was supposed to be.

"A prince saves a princess from the scary dragon, and they live happily ever after."

Not my best work, admittedly, but it's the first documented time of me making a story, and I looked at that picture frame with fondness. Who knows where it is now, probably tucked away in some box in the attack after my parents moved.

But, then I got super into writing in like the third grade when I came up with my first original story, and then my love for writing snowballed from there. I can't tell you how many stories would flit in and out of my brain over the years, but somehow I think y'all have an idea just based on the ideas I pitch on here. But, just know that the ones I put on here are only a fraction of the ones I come up with.

I don't know why I'm so in love with writing and stories exactly. Maybe it's the thrill of making my own worlds where my problems aren't so present and overwhelming, or maybe it's because I love to find the magic in different possibilities. That sounds kind of smarmy, doesn't it? But, I think it's still true.

But, something that's been part of my personal journey as of late is the idea of doing things for myself and not others. My whole life, I've been such a huge people pleaser, and now at my big age, I've decided that I don't want to live my life like that anymore, but I'm faced with the problem of: how do I stop?

I'll start off by saying that I love my parents a lot. They've made a lot of sacrifices for me and they do a lot for me, and I'm forever grateful to them. But whether they meant for it or not, there was a lot of pressure to be a certain thing growing up. I could have hobbies like writing, acting, painting, drawing, singing, etc. But I had to be realistic, and that meant that I wasn't allowed to pursue those things as my main goal. I had to find a way to stuff myself into the box of "STEM, business, or something that would make money." And I get why. Financially, life was rough for a really, REALLY long time growing up. Both of my parents came from households where their parents worked more than one job to make ends meet, and this was back in the 60s and 70s.

So, for most of my life, I allowed myself to have those hobbies, using them as an escape for the growing pressure I was feeling at needing to be "perfect" for my family. And that's just it. I was never "perfect" enough. I could have won first place at a tournament for speech and debate, and I would be given critiques on how I could have done better. They always told me they were proud of me, but the word "but" always came after their words of praise.

"You did such a good job, but..."

"That was really good, but..."

"It would have been even better if you just..."

I didn't hear the words "I'm proud of you" by themselves until I was 12 years old and it was from a family friend. I remember waiting for the "but" to come, and when it never did, I had to excuse myself to go cry in the bathroom.

So I escaped further into my little worlds, and sometimes I would share them with my friends who would always tell me that they loved my stories, but there was always the nagging feeling in the back of my head that they were lying. They had to say that because they were my friends, but also because the stories weren't...perfect.

I've always been a perfectionist, and it's something I'm learning to get over as time goes on. These past few months have been such a journey for me because I've been allowing myself to be bad at shit.

But then I started posting on here, and it made me feel so good to know that literal strangers thought my writing was good too. You guys didn't have to lie to me and tell me that it was, you genuinely thought my writing was great! And it makes me so happy! It refueled my love for writing, and I hope I can keep writing for years to come!

But I've also been telling my mom about all of this (leaving out the 18+ bits lol) and the other night she looked at me and asked me if I had considered actually getting a story published.

Now, this was a bit of a blow for me for a couple of reasons. Yes, I'm so happy that she's finally taking an interest and seeing how passionate I've always been about writing, but...

But why now? Are you asking me that because you genuinely think I'll get published, or are you asking me because you're hearing that people actually really appreciate my hobby and you think I can make money off it? Why are you suddenly so enthusiastic about something I've made clear that I always wanted to do?

Idk, I'm probably just overthinking the whole thing, and I know she's genuinely happy for me, but it still kind of heart. Yeah, the dream is to one day be a published author. It always has been, but who knows if I'll ever finish anything good enough to be published, ya know?

Anyway, if you stuck around this long you can breathe out a sigh of relief lol I'm done rambling and ranting for now. I'll get some of the updates out to you guys when I can

The Ink Demonth 1

Today is Pencil.

I’ve had this rattling around in my head for a bit and wanted to get it out.

This is kind of a follow up to this fic.

“What are you doing?”

Joey didn’t look up from his sketchbook. “Drawing,” he answered. “Or, trying to. Henry was always the artist between the two of us.” He laughed weakly as he swept away some eraser shavings.

Audrey let out a hum of acknowledgement, peering over his shoulder. It was a portrait of Esther, definitely a bit rough but instantly recognizable. At least to Audrey. In the drawing, Esther smiled softly at someone the viewer couldn’t see, her mouth open enough to see the barest hint of teeth, her eyes half closed.

“You’re doing a pretty good job,” Audrey said. “You can tell it’s Aunt Esther.”

"Thank you." Joey smiled slightly. "It feels....good. To be making something."

"Why the sudden interest in drawing anyway?" Audrey asked, sitting down next to him on the couch.

"Esther said I should get a hobby," Joey answered. "So that I wasn't just..." He paused, his cheeks going a bit pink. "Moping around and being pathetic."

"Were those her exact words?" Audrey tried to stifle a giggle.

Joey didn't answer, but judging from the way his cheeks went pinker still, that was indeed the case.

The two lapsed into silence, the only sound in the living room being the scratching of Joey's pencil. There was a tension in the air. Not enough to be oppressive, but certainly enough to make Joey hyperaware of the fact that this was the first time he'd been alone in a room with his daughter since he'd told her about the circumstances of her birth and the various crimes he'd committed.

"Were you and Mr. Arch really friends when you were kids?"

Joey instinctively froze. Whatever question he'd been expecting her to ask, that hadn't been it.

"Where did you hear that?" He asked, trying to keep his voice calm and even.

"When I got a job at Archgate, Aunt Esther mentioned your families were close when you were kids," Audrey said, leaning toward him. "And Mr. Arch himself came by my office to say he knew you."

"We weren't friends," Joey said flatly, turning to a new page so as not to ruin his sketch of Esther. He couldn't trust himself with delicate detail work right now. "Our parents were friends, so we just saw each other a lot."

"Mr. Arch seemed to think you were friends."

Joey's lip curled in a sneer. "Nathan thinks a lot of things. That doesn't make them true."

Audrey folded her arms, giving him a withering look that she had to have learned from Esther. Much like when it was wielded by his sister, the look took all of the wind out of his sails, filling him with shame. He was slipping back into old habits again. The world wasn't out to get him, he reminded himself.

"We weren't friends," he repeated, beginning to doodle aimlessly. He cringed as the familiar shape of Bendy began to take form under his pencil. "I...never liked him."

"Why?" Audrey pressed.

"Nathan can be hard to read. He's always just..." Joey paused, tapping his pencil on the paper as he tried to find the right words to describe Nathan Arch. "His mood never seems to change. It's always just this... baseline pleasant geniality. It was the same when we were kids. Even when he was angry or upset, he never raised his voice or showed too much emotion. It made me feel like he was making fun of me when he showed interest in what I was doing. Like he was secretly laughing at me for being foolish enough to think he was actually interested in what I was." His grip on his pencil tightened at the memory. That damned smile. Always mild. Always pleasant. Never changing. He'd always thought there was secret scornful laughter behind that smile.

Then again, though, he'd thought everyone was secretly laughing at him back then. How shameful it was that it had taken being trapped within the Ink Demon for 20 years to make him realize how toxic his thought patterns had been.

Audrey leaned back, tapping her fingers on her arm in thought. "I can see that," she finally said after a moment or two.

"And, admittedly, I was... looking for a fight," Joey conceded somewhat sheepishly.

Audrey let out a snort, her frown replaced by a smirk. "Yeah, it sounds like you were."

They lapsed into silence again, and Joey hoped this would be the end of the questions about Nathan.

Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Once again, after a few minutes, Audrey spoke again. “Why didn’t you ask Mr. Arch for help when the studio was failing? He could have given you money.”

Joey resisted the urge to sigh.

"I didn't want to take handouts from anyone," he answered. "I thought of it as admitting failure. Not to mention, asking for money from him would have been humiliating."

"But why?" Audrey demanded, her frown returning.

A part of him missed the world of the wealthy. The lavish parties in beautiful glittering ballrooms, the fancy clothing, and fine foods. But then again it had been... exhausting. He'd always had to be on guard, ready to fend off a sharp comeback or twist another's words to suit his purposes. The life he led now wasn't exactly as grand as it had been before, but... it was happier. He was happier.

"But that's in the past," Joey said, trying to move the conversation forward. "I... might try to reconnect with Nathan now."

Audrey seemed a little annoyed by the attempted topic change, but didn't try to argue. "I think he'd like that. He made a whole exhibit in the Archgate building for you, you know."

Joey's head snapped up, his cheeks bright red. "He did what?"

A smirk appeared on Audrey's face again. "He made an exhibit for you. Even had a bust commissioned."

Joey covered his face, letting out a groan. "Oh for goodness sake."

"You should come by to see it sometime." Audrey scooted over to bump her shoulder against his. "I think Mr. Arch would be really excited to show you~"

"I will... thank about it," Joey mumbled through his hands. "Now can we please talk about something else?"

"Like how you had a crush on Uncle Henry?"

A Scooby Re-Write Inspired by Me and My Brother talking

After reblogging that, I got reminded of a discussion my brother and I had over Scooby-Doo. Basically we were talking about how Velma, while not the worst idea, is failing HARD at delivering anything. There's plenty of people on YouTube explaining WHY the show isn't doing well, so I won't bore you. Instead I'll talk about what me and my brother discussed.

First thought: Watch this Video. It's a good talk and honestly was the basis for our thoughts.

Most of this is mine with some thoughts of my brother.

First, I'd have them be college kids. Shaggy is the eldest at 21, and Velma is the baby at 18. Note as well: this follows my Canadian understanding of college and university.

Shaggy is a rich kid whose parents shoved him into all sorts of programs, and he killed it in theater club and culinary classes. Scooby is his dog he rescued at fourteen from an abusive relative. His parents actually helped to. His parents weren't neglectful, and fully support his dreams. They just really wanted him to find a hobby that wasn't eating. They're rich but also kinda hippies who own their own farm where they get fresh food, have chickens and also humanely butcher their animals. Shaggy is only vegetarian when he doesn't have access to meat he knows is ethically sourced. He believes in protecting the planet and might, a few times after catching eco-villains, buy the land they we were worried about to protect. He also is personally rich after creating a snack he calls 'Scooby Snacks' that are healthy and delicious.

Daphne is also a rich kid who knows Shaggy in the 'our parents do business together so we sat at dinners with each other'. Her parents also shoved her into programs a lot, but her interest ended up being fashion and judo. Like Shaggy, her parents aren't neglectful. They're just very busy and wanted her in programs to limit her alone time. Daphne and Shaggy are kind of friend. They get along, and when they see each other in class sit next to each other. But Daphne isn't that interest in spending time with him outside of class, mostly because she's busy with her designs and judo classes. And her boyfriend, Fred.

Fred isn't a rich kid. I like how his dad was mayor in Mystery Incorporated, and I like his trap obsession, so I want to keep that. His mom is a former socialite who became a social worker and is always busy like his dad. He ended up hanging out with his uncle, who is a stunts and props expert for movies. Traps came from this, and so Fred developed an obsession with it. Fred is a good kid, and he owns the mystery van that he painted like it is on a dare. He liked it though! He and Daphne went to the same school cause his mom used some of her money to pay for a private school.

Velma is a genius kid who graduated at age 15. She's in her third year, and striving to go into criminology. Her parents are the type who PUSH and PUSH to have her work harder and harder on school. They imagine her as a famous doctor who will make millions and have them in a life of luxury. She in turn has been working towards her criminology degree and when she turned 18, moved out and now lives in the dorms, where she is Daphne's roommate.

Daphne and Velma ended up close when Velma's parents tried to force their way into the dorm. Daphne prevented this, and they became very good friends. Daphne is in fashion studies, but takes a couple of justice courses for fun. Mostly due to Fred who has an interest thanks to learning his mother was disowned for blowing the whistle on her cousin's criminal life. Fred wants to go into movie making but takes the other stuff for fun.

Shaggy is kind of the odd man out, here. But it doesn't last. One summer, a really good university for future criminology students offers a scholarship for someone who can have a video where the student talks about famous crimes. Bonus if you actually go to these places.

Velma really wants this, but isn't sure if she can afford it. Daphne suggests going with her, and Fred can work the camera/drive. But they honestly don't have enough money. Daphne's parents firmly believe in their daughter making her own way. They pay for school, send her 500 every two weeks for food/gas, but do NOT pay for extra stuff. This, while nice, isn't something they would pay for.

Shaggy comes in. He's bored and overhears them as he's at Daphne's dorm for a group project they have in their costuming class as he's taking theater and culinary classes out of mostly boredom. He offers to pay cause 'I don't have anything to do over the summer and my extended family will be around cause of *reasons* and I hate them'.

So they all go off for Velma! And then of course, they start to find various supernatural crimes going on. Velma is secretly a ghost junkie, so is Fred. They have time, and go off to see it. And that is how them busting crimes start.

They go through about ten crimes, and there is some joking about how 'what the fuck, why is there so many people doing this shit' before they meet a REAL witch who has been terrifying people away from an area due to another witch trying to murder people. They team up to stop the evil witch, and in thanks, the witch casts a spell to give each of them a true desire.

Fred gets a book about ALL traps in the world that is self updating. Daphne gets a suitcase that has the perfect outfit for any occasion. Velma gets a book all about the supernatural that also updates or tells them things they need to know. Shaggy? Shaggy truly wants his dog to live as long as he does. And Scooby? He wants to talk.

After this, they keep going and end up finding real supernatrual mixed in with regular. Daphne begins posting it online, the police know of them...

And at the end of the summer, Velma gets her scholarship. But also is allowed to do her classes online thanks to a wish granted by a grateful genie. They keep going, all over the world, happy as can be.

Notes:

-Velma is a lesbian and ends up with a new love interest every few episodes who keeps being the villain. She's teased for having crushes on felons.

-Scooby turns out to be a fae dog who stays with them.

-Shaggy I feel has a long distance girlfriend who ends up appearing once in a while and is brought up each episode so she is a major character but not around cause she is busy like... discovering the cure for cancer.

-Fred and Daphne get married in Vegas.

-While mostly episodic, there is a few long arching plots (IE: The scholarship and then later probably something like an apocolypse)

-Shaggy and Scooby are both still cowards but Shaggy will also punch a ghost for his friends and Scooby will run back to save them.

-Shaggy ends up getting magic.

-One gets bitten by a werewolf that that's a sub plot for like ten episodes or a season looking for a cure. Either they get cured or stay like it cause why not.

ROTTMNT: Second Generation✨✨

HUGE Infodump incoming!

Basically, in my little universe, the teetlez do have children with their spouses and these cousins work together to fight crime. Their parents work on a human-mutant co-habitation project with April and stuff, but as they do this their kids are fighting against this organization that works with humans and mutants in order to prevent co-habitation (like mutants who join are anti-human and want to be feared and the humans are planning on maybe killing the Yokai because of the TMNT I think).

First, the children, then the parents and other such adults. We also don't really have any episodes scripted out yet so it'll be a while before there's actually a comic 😅

Hiroshi Age: 14 Height: 5’1 Weapon: Katana (ninja style) Info: Hiroshi is the son of Leosagi (made by my friend @okumura-senseixxx, and hes the best and only Leosagi child) and is the leader of this group he and his cousins had made. He was chosen as leader even though he’s the youngest because he has the most control over himself and likes to protect his family. Leo is proud to have this legacy carried on. And yes, Hiroshi is a turtle and rabbit mutant created in Draxum’s lab, me and my friend say that his favorite movie is ChickenHare.✨

Donato Age: 15 1/2 Height: 5’5 Weapon: Black Manriki Chain

Info: Donato has killed a man, his twin was in trouble so in a panic he did what he could think of. And now he’s traumatized *pat pat*. He thinks he can’t ever control his emotions but besides the trauma look up Manriki fighting techniques it’s become one of my favorite weapons✨ He is the son of my OC’s Gio and Taylor, also mutated in Draxum’s lab and wait for it… co-leader of the team since hes older and very smart when it comes to planning a mission.✨Donato also wants to learn to be a mystic warrior like his Uncle Mikey✨ Donato doesn't really do music as much as his twin but also will play an instrument with his twin. Donato also hates it when his uncles or cousins use the same nicknames for him that they use for his uncle Donatello. He also hates feeling angry about it because of what I said earlier about his emotions, so whenever he's emotional he locks himself in a separate room until he calms down. Besides that, his cousins try to mess with him but ye. Donato also likes cosmetology, makeup and doing hair, he learns this from his grandma✨ (Taylor's mom) He practices on his twin (for both hair and makeup because skin) but also his other relatives with hair

Takeo Age: 15 1/2 Height: 5’7 Weapon: Dual-Bladed Scythe

Info: Takeo is Donato’s twin brother✨ I know, but Gio and Taylor agreed to have one son who appears a bit more human, but by all means Takeo is a half human half turtle all mutant. He actually goes to a human school (which he hates because Donato isn’t there and his teachers don’t understand his brain) Takeo took an interest in alchemy and learns from Draxum, and maybe he uses his skills to get at Kiro but he also is useful on the team with his talent. Takeo also only wants to protect his family but his way involves being observant until he can determine what he needs to do to help. He also has MAD claustrophobia, still thinking of why but he has it. He and his brother also like to sing (thank their dads) as a signal or a way to locate each other on missions, but they also just sing✨ Takeo is the younger twin but is taller now because he's more human like Taylor and Taylor is 6 feet tall as a teen but still turtle. Takeo's personal hobby is that he follows in his Papa's musical interests and he makes music (but he did have a band but nobody can know about it).

Shelldon Age: 16 Height: 5’5 Weapon: Tech

Info: Shelldon is basically Donnie’s clone, made when Donnie was testing the technology but also he wanted a kid. Shelldon struggles with being a clone and feeling like a replaceable entity instead of a person, and there’s some other stuff but… ye. He’s also named Shelldon because of something in my fan comic where Donnie promises to carry Shelldon’s legacy. Shelldon doesn’t become leader because he isn’t a fan of responsibility. He also doesn’t like when people say he’s like his dad, because it only makes him feel worse about being a clone. He talks to Takeo mostly, and when around his other cousins he keeps up this “chill” exterior and only helps on missions really when his super-brain is required✨ He’s also friends with Kiro. Shelldon also knows a lot about tech since he was kinda born with the knowledge Donnie had, and then his dad is the only one smarter than he is which is important to one episode.

Kiro Age: 15 Height: 5’4 Weapon: Katana (samurai style)

Info: Kiro is the child of Scourge and Mikey, also made by my friend. Scourge found Kiro while on his travels across dimensions, and when introduced he was welcome with open arms, from all except Takeo. Their similar personalities make them clash every time their in the same room, they’ll always find a way to fight (mostly started by Takeo). Kiro talks to Shelldon and Donato the most, and to me he’s like Knuckles from Sonic 2 movie, oblivious to world stuff and stuck in his tradition of samurai if that makes any sense😅✨ Chizu and Waru are two other characters my friend made, and I haven't made pages for them but Chizu is a cheetah yokai and Waru is a wolf yokai, both are Hiroshi's friends✨ Waru doesn't really talk nor does he use sign, he uses body language and expressions to communicate, but will speak when it's important. He's also pretty clumsy and timid and doesn't like being tickled. He does like to draw, specifically he likes to draw bugs like bees and butterflies. Other info according to my friend: "He's big in size as well as in his heart, and is slow to anger. His weapon is... I don't know. He doesn't seem like the type to use a weapon, he's more the type to use natural things, like his teeth, claws and fists. I bet he can punch through stone... He gets along with everyone, just like Chizu but Kiro and Donato seem hard to get close to. Kiro because he looks scary and Donato because he's to the point on his dislike for Waru. But Kiro has nothing against him." Donato dislikes him because Takeo and Waru do end up together at some point and Donato is very jealous. Chizu Also in the words of my friend, "Chizu is fun, hyper, cheerful and outgoing. Her weapons are twin bladed war fans, she's friends with everyone especially Kiro who is actually quite fond of her. Chizu and Waru both will succumb to anger and violent instincts if someone dares to hurt their friends."

Okay... gotta explain every parents' job...

Leosagi: I describe them as the goofy parents who laugh about how embarrassed their son gets when they flirt with each other, but they're also really fun✨ Usagi can sense the Shadow Demons (it's a thing from my comic) as they try to gather in a dimension to summon their King again. This does cause Usagi pain and their job is to locate them and open a portal, then once Gio goes through they close it and make sure no Shadow Demons slipped through. The Earth dimension is very secure being a host to two worlds (yokai and humans) but when Usagi opens a portal it leaves an opening to the Earth dimension that Shadow Demons can get through. Leo mostly chills around his house but he is also the one that trained Hiroshi and helps Hiroshi when he struggles with being the leader sometimes. And I'm not gonna say Leo doesn't give Hiroshi dating advice, heheh✨ Leo: Dad Usagi: Dama

Taylavaggio: These parents are die hard for their children, love each other to bits, and in the beginning were very protective of their children, until Taylor instructed Gio that they should let their kids grow, which is around the time Gio started training them (4 years old). Gio was the panicking parent when the twins were babies, but it's okay now. As said before Gio is the one who travels to the other dimensions having some of Usagi's power that he's manifested and made stronger, and he will soon pass some onto his sons. Gio needs to go because the Shadow Demons will sense Usagi's more potent power and gather in that dimension and ye. Gio once having children and a family is more hesitant to go into the dimensions closer to Earth, those ones warp time, he fears they either he'll die or he'll return and his family will be gone. Usually his missions take a day or two, and sometimes a week, and if it's a "bad mission" (being that he was trapped in his fears by the demons) he needs to take a while after a missions to recover, his family cares about him a lot. Taylor on the other hand is a realtor, and he drives Takeo to school, obviously. He's their source of income and does pretty well✨ Taylor's mom and sister are still getting used to his family but love them all the same. He loves his husband and his beautiful twin sons to death, and even though he's human he's ready to throw hands at whoever makes his family sad✨ Taylor: Dad Gio: Papa

Scikey: The most dramatic love story ever, but as parents they love each other and Kiro is their world✨ According to my friend they have a whole wall of Kiro photos and are only adding to it as time goes on. Scourge during his time traveling (in my universe) was the one to catalog all the dimensions that were within some kind of radius around the Earth dimension. But other than that now he and his husband just love each other. Mikey of course helps Donato learn to do mystic stuff (which is why Donato and Kiro are friends) and is also the mediator between Kiro and Takeo's beef together whenever he finds them fighting (as Dr. Feelings of course✨). He also teaches Kiro to cook and bake and all that. Occasionally Scourge helps Gio on his missions but things are tense between them because Gio is still hesitant on Scourge because stuff that happened in my comic. But his help makes the missions go shorter. Scourge: Father Mikey: Dad

Donnie: Donnie works with Raph on the human-yokai co-habitation. Like I said he was working on some cloning technology that he was going to add to some presentation with some scientific world to get his technology patented, but he hasn't because of Shelldon. He loves his clone son a ton and even though it doesn't show, he would drop whatever science project if Shelldon was in trouble or just said that he didn't feel happy (but Shelldon hasn't found this out until said important episode). Donnie is a good dad✨

Raph: Raph is kinda the leader of the co-habitation and works with Arpil the most as they meet with families she finds and introduces them to some yokai. Raph is able to get most of his brothers to help, the only one who hasn't is Gio and Taylor because he offended them asking (because Taylor and Gio married for love not because they wanted to prove co-habitation is possible, and being advertized as such would ruin their vows and their marriage, Taylor explained it nicely but agreed with his husband to not go along with it). Raph doesn't have children but more than enough nephews he's always ready to watch over. ✨

Not really, my given name is that of a saint like most names from here tbh, but my mom picked it because it's short and she wanted people from everywhere around the world to be able to say it which is kind of cute. I don't have chosen name I have like 3 nicknames people alternate between, one of them is Ani or AniGC which I use on the internet and I don't plan on picking one I think not having a name is cool!

Nope, too young, and also having my own kids or parenting/fostering is not something I am fit to ever do I don't think I would be a good parent. I'm a lesbian so biological kids are kind of out the window (not really but don't want them regardless, better safe than sorry on this matter I think). I would love to work with kids though at least once in my lifetime.

Genuinely yesterday I love crying I cry all the damn time it helps me fall asleep. What the libs don't want you to know is that depression is actually awesome because you can cry all the fucking time and you don't need sleeping medication! Yay for mental illness!

This is a strange one I'm not really big on either of these things. When it comes to horror I'm not really a fan of movies I feel like a thing inherently becomes a little less scary when you show it to me or when it's moving you know? Idk I like some of them but I really do enjoy horror books those are awesome. And for the other thing I don't know is it a happy ending for me or the characters? Like I enjoy all plot threads being tied together well but if that doesn't make my fav happy GOOD. Let that bitch suffer. To actually answer the question I think scary movies lmao.

Why yes I'm very awesome. Idk I'm a fast learner genuinely that's the biggest thing I've got going on I think almost everything I know I learned on my own accord, it was never given to me, and idk I'm kind of proud of that idgaf if it sounds corny. I can also dislocate my thumb that's kind of cool.

Running the risk of sounding like a loser nerd I love studying I love learning things if I could stay in school for the rest of my life I genuinely would. I love learning how shit works and I'm gonna be honest organic chemistry has been among my favourite things to study ever it's so perfectly logical and awesome one of the best sciences ever for sure. Besides that I like doing fuck all and taking the piss on the internet.

Nope! Small apartment and not enough money or time to take care of them. One day I will get a cat though trust.

Idk probably physics. High school level chem was incredibly fucking boring I didn't even have to fart to get good grades. Math and programming were my original beloveds but I fell out of love with them very soon after starting high school due to bad experiences with teachers. So yeah probably physics idk the only subjects I think about at this point are the ones I'll have next year in college I can't fucking wait for atomistics.

15. Dream job?

I feel like a fucking idiot being at my age and telling people I want to be a scientist but like!!!!!! I do I genuinely do!!!! I want to be a researcher and do cool things I want to be entranced by the work I do maybe this sounds so incredibly optimistic because it's likely that if I become a researcher I'll be eating packet noodles for the rest of my life but!! That's my dream!!!

What I don't understand is; Jared have posted how many pictures of his kids this last 2 years? 4 maybe 5 times? He is not the type of parent to post photos of his kids all the time, he respect their privacy. But why his Genevieve posting so much about them? You see that your husband and kids don't enjoy this type of publicity why can't you respect that.

Hello Anon, thank you for your ask. I think this is because Gen is the type of woman who made being a parent half of her entire personality instead of it being simply part of her lifestyle. Jared's entire image isn't being a family man because he has a career outside of home. Being a parent is simply part of his lifestyle but doesn't feel the need to post about it all the time. If you look at her nowandgen blog she barely tends to anymore or even her YouTube channel, you'll see her talking about things like her childbirth stories, advocating for things like women being more empowered to give birth the way they want, etc. Sounds great right? Ultimately, what it boils down to is showing off her privilege.

To me, it's one of those things where I am for it but I don't feel the need to advocate for it. I suppose it's because in my opinion there's plenty of women who advocate for these things... but they also have a certain vision of how they want to give birth. These crunchy mom types like her secretly look down on those who do things like having a conventional birth in a hospital, use epidurals, have a OB-GYN instead of a midwife and doula, etc. If they give birth any other way besides taking a crap in the middle of someone else's living room in a pool giving birth for the sakes of being able to say "YEAH I GAVE BIRTH '"'AT HOME'" for the sakes of getting some fucking views (looking at you Gen), all hell breaks loose. If you ask me, it's ultimately an ego thing at the very end. I think these kind of women make their entire life be mothers because frankly it is. If it were not for the internet, there wouldn't be a big market for these crunchy stay at home moms. If you want to advocate for women being more empowered to make their own decisions about how they want to give birth, go for it. Don't make it your entire personality. Have other interests and hobbies that are independent of your family for heaven's sake PLEASE!

I've come across some of these types of blogs and many times more than not, they believe non organic foods are the devil; we're going to get cancer or god forbid die sooner if we use store bought beauty products or products that aren't considered to be "green"; you're a lazy person if you don't have a big garden in your own backyard; and if you don't buy "green" clothing, you're wasteful. When you look closer at the things they are saying and their sources for info, you learn that a lot of these websites copy from each other and a good portion of the time they all greatly misunderstood (or twisted to fit their own) what scientific studies actually said. I'm not sorry to say this, these types of blogs are a dime a dozen. That niche market is flooded and to me, this screams they have nothing else to talk about except for being what they are, a stay at home mom who has a lot more time on her hands to do these activities than working moms do.

With the constant photos and videos of her kids stuff, if her kids were 100% okay with it, alright. If they are not, there is a problem (I personally don't think the boys in this case really like being featured in her content). For example, I sure as hell would've been upset if I were Shep and saw that photo of myself on the internet for thousands to see. I believe in getting the greenlight from whoever I am going to photograph myself with or of before posting, child or adult. On my personal Facebook and such, I don't post too much of my son but when I do I make sure he's okay with what I post about him. I don't believe in airing my personal dirty laundry for the world to see. I get annoyed as hell when other people post TMI type stuff. Again Gen, looking at you with your stupid territorial "post sex" posts and such.
