Jason has like just arrived back to Gotham, caused chaos in the underbelly due to well, 8 heads in a duffle bag, and is just starting his takeover of Crime Alley. It's going good, great even! And then he busts some sort of gang or smuggling ring run by people in white suits and there's... holy shit why do these four toddlers have Lazarus eyes?!

Is that a lab?! And Lazarus waters?! Jason might be a bit mad but he's not an asshole, he's not going to just leave these kids here to the streets. He can't just take them to the Batclan either, and as much as he begrudgingly trusts Talia, he sure as fuck doesn't trust Ras. Who knows what he'd do to four... what are they, pit-kids?

Now he's juggling his whole revenge-thing, running a criminal empire, taking over Gotham's underbelly, and being a single dad. At least the goonion seems to be down for helping, seeing as he's making Crime Alley safer...? .... Fuck he needs some proper sleep

oh no. this is how you die. you just continue to sip your iced coffee, no thoughts, head empty as vernon's unlocking his phone. maybe if you pretend you didn't hear him, you can excuse yourself... and book it outside before he notices? he looks up, watching you for a second. shit. you can't run like this.

"what text?" you ask after a moment. don't say it. don't say it. oh my god, don't fucking say it.

he reads it out loud, "i'm not arguing with a guy with big brown eyes. whatever you say, beautiful." he turns the phone to face you, revealing a picture that you snapped of him the other day that was supposed to go to seungkwan and ONLY seungkwan (the unfortunate single friend fully aware of your feelings for vernon).

"i didn't text that." you know your name is attached to it. you know that no one else gets to mess with your phone. maybe if you just keep acting dumb--

vernon is casual as hell about it, leaning back in his chair, "nah, it's cool. i asked seungkwan about it and he said..." he trails off, dragging the word out as he goes back to seungkwan's contact in his phone. "'oh my god. they're fucking stupid.' which... rude, but, c'mon, you're cute so you get a pass to be dumb sometimes."

deny, deny, deny, and then run away and yell at seungkwan because you really are stupid. "my cat sent that." you don't even have a cat. this is literally how you die, you think.

vernon just bursts into giggles, watching you. "you're really gonna play it like this, huh?"

"yes. no. maybe." you avert your gaze, sipping harder at your iced coffee. "that's probably not even my number--"

he chuckles, leaning over the table to press his lips against your cheek for just a few sweet seconds. he sits back down, and grins that gummy smile at you that leaves you mentally screaming.

"huh? what?" your mind is blank, probably. all you can do is stare at him. "huh? you...?"

"yeah," he says. "me." he gets up, grabbing his drink before he walks away, making his way toward the door. he glances at you over his shoulder with another cheeky grin, all too aware of how he's destroyed you within seconds.

you nearly knock your chair over, gathering your shit and taking off after him. "vernon, you jerk!"

and maybe he is. but he's your beautiful brown-eyed jerk, if everything goes according to his plan.

… Hi Alex! Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply to you, I promise I didn’t forget! I guess I just didn’t really know what to say cos I’ve sorta not felt like myself recently. My mom says I disappear into my own world sometimes so I sorta did that again and found it hard to think of anything fun to say. I don’t think I’d mind if you wrote to me about the less fun parts of your life though n’ my dad says you shouldn’t really keep everything to yourself all the time cos it ends up hurting so I thought I’d write anyway n’ just force myself not to worry about being boring or whatever. Your letters and your life always sound so exciting compared to mine though so sometimes it’s hard not to!!

I got in a fight at school which sounds like it should be an exciting story, but it wasn’t really. There’s this kid called Levi in my class that always picks on me (don’t worry though, I don’t care about that) and I couldn’t be bothered listening to him anymore so I hit him a couple times, I thought he’d hit me back but he just freaked out so I sorta felt bad about it afterward. He still makes fun of me but he doesn’t get up in my face as much so that’s a plus. Who says violence doesn’t solve anything? Hahaha I’m kidding! It wasn’t nice of me but maybe he should know better than to push people around so much.

I’m looking forward to summer so I can wander off a bit more and maybe it won’t rain so much! My mom doesn’t really like it when I go too far but as long as I’m back before curfew she tries not to freak out about it which is nice of her cos she knows I like to explore n’ stuff. I shouldn’t complain about my family cos I love them n’ stuff but I like being on my own sometimes and it’d be nice to have a bit of peace now n’ then. I’ve got SUPER good hearing so it’s hard to find anywhere quiet in my house, especially cos there’s always something crazy going on. My aunt Alma is sorta similar to me so she’s been helping me block out the noise with this meditation sorta thing, I guess it’s hard to explain but it’s not as lame as it sounds, it’s kinda fun to see how long you can stay in your own brain without people interrupting you. That probably sounds really weird but maybe you sorta get what I mean?

I finally have a treehouse now too!! It reminds me of your watchtower in some ways, but I guess it’s no way cooler than that, even though I know you’re bored of it by now. I wish we could hang out in it together cos it’s super awesome! Mom n’ dad don’t really bother me when I’m up there n’ my brother n’ sisters can’t manage the ladder yet so it’s all mine! It’s right at the bottom of the garden and looks out over the whole Bay too! Mom said she might let me sleep in it once it gets a bit warmer! It’d be cool falling asleep to the sound of the waves.. I hope it doesn’t end up making me need to pee all night though haha!!

Wren’s been obsessed with watching me play on the computer recently and I keep tryna teach her how to play herself but her little fingers can’t really reach all the buttons on the keyboard too well and she gets stupid mad when she dies so she just makes me play instead. She’d kick me if I told anyone but she’s a bit scared of some of the monsters too lol!! Mom told me I shouldn’t let her watch those ones but they’re the only ones she WANTS to watch and she jumps all over me until I give in so idk what they expect me to do other than lock her in the pantry, but I got told off for that so I guess I shouldn’t do that again haha (Wren thought it was funny though so it’s all good!) It’s a shame you don’t have a computer in the tower otherwise we could play together! Jude n’ Jacob aren’t really into that sorta thing so I usually just play on my own. Do you have a computer back home??

Oh! I got another badge for my swimming lessons too! I’ve almost got em all now which is neat but I sorta wanna avoid getting the last ones cos anyone that gets them all or has good attendance n’ whatever get an award at the end of the school year. They save em all up to give out at some stupid last year disco thing they put on before summer for the last year kids n’ it’d be so cringe to get called out in front of everyone like that. Some people think it’s gonna be amazing like my friend Jude, but I’d rather not go at all. Mom n’ dad keep saying it’ll be fun n’ everyone else is excited about it too but how fun could something be if you’re technically at SCHOOL? Bleh! I know you said you hate it sometimes, but being homeschooled sounds awesome to me lol.

I keep tryna bug my parents to go camping again so we could maybe see each other but they won’t take me out of school for a holiday n’ dad’s too busy with some work project so I guess we’ll have to keep writing to each other instead! Maybe if I keep annoying them about it we can come back in the summer! I hope so anyway but I guess I don’t wanna piss em off TOO much just in case my plan backfires or something.

I still feel really bad about not writing sooner but my dad said better late than never so hopefully you’re not too upset with me! I’ll try my best to write faster next time so you don’t have to wait as long. I’m looking forward to hearing about everything you’ve been up to!! thinking bout hal and jake and how their interactions went in homestuck again. god, imagine having a best friend (who you also have a wild crush on) that youve known for years, talked to him about everything, from dumb shit to the deepest desires and insecurities youve ever had. then you decide to create an ai out of your own brain and suddenly its you whose got the short end of the stick and youre stuck, without a body, in a pair of glasses. and youd think, this fucking sucks, but at least i have my friends, right? but your friends dont think about you as "you" anymore. now you're just a program, ai created by the real deal to talk to them when he doesnt have time to do it.

and your best friend? he cant fucking stand you. he sees you only as an obstacle in his way to talk to the real you, but youre YOU too, right? all the parts are the same, the memories are the same, your feelings are the same, but youre not REAL YOU anymore. now youre just an annoyance they have to get through if they want to talk to the guy you were before and you still are.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE KAITOU KID (he's my blorbo!!!!) but also man I wish we got more of Kaito. The civilian. My favorite Magic Kaito volumes/eps are the ones where we actually get to see him do stuff. To this day I consider the best OVA to be the Crystal Mother one.

which gives sidious Ideas about how to most successfully ruin anakin’s relationship with obi-wan, aka the only thing really firmly keeping anakin in the light, so that he can twist anakin into Falling and becoming his sith apprentice.

after all it turns out that while obi-wan kenobi is damn near unkillable, he isn’t unfuckable (in the eyes of the vast majority of the galaxy.....anakin included)

and so palpatine becomes the number one obikin shipper, the og stan, the fan with a plan. he sets them up on countless dates and fancy dinners, gives them his opera house tickets, pays for them to be serenaded by the Coruscanti orchestra.....all because he thinks that once they get together it’ll be only a matter of time before they break up and then anakin will be so betrayed and distraught that he never talks to obi-wan again

but that....keeps not happening and palpatine just keeps bankrolling their dates at increasingly fancier and fancier places, all the while Anakin is in his In Love and Life Is Wonderful phase, Kenobi shyly thanks Palpatine for his kindness, and Sidious has to keep reminding himself that the happier and higher Skywalker feels the further he’ll Fall.......right? right???

I'm once again thinking about the missed opportunities to have Klaus and Kol bond more. Part of Klaus' whole motivation as a vampire is to get his werewolf part back and to finally be stronger than Mikael (sort of, I'm simplifying) both of which can be obtained by breaking his curse. But Kol? Kol is the only other original that can relate to having a fundamental part of themself ripped away from them. Klaus might not have known he was a werewolf until he killed, but he likely still had a connection he couldn't explain, as evident by him going to watch the wolves transform. And something he'd never been able to explain was now gone. He might only be able to realise the connection afterwards through its absence.

Kol though. Kol had grown up with magic, a connection to nature and the world around him in a way the rest of his siblings supposedly didn't have. And then he gets turned. And not only has his baby brother died, his father has just murdered him and the rest of his siblings after forcing them to drink human blood, which he'll later learn. Now, not only does he have to deal with the grief of Henrik's death and also his own but also the loss of his magic. A loss that's likely only worsened by Kol being a self-proclaimed child prodigy.

Kol is pretty much the only one who could understand what Klaus is going through with the binding of his wolf. We know Kol searched for ways to get his magic back/carry on practicing magic in the same way that Klaus was looking for ways to break his curse. While Klaus likely could still feel his wolf there despite being bound, Kol has no access to his magic anymore. I just think they should've been able to bond or connect over their shared loss of an intrinsic aspect of their selves at the hands of their parents

headcanon that scorpius was a sick child and was in and out of hospital constantly, perhaps related to astoria's blood curse but not directly. his immune system isnt very strong, and everytime he gets sick they're terrified that it's the blood curse but also whatever else it could be, because it's always so sudden and so intense and they call healers over to the house who recommend this delirious feverish 4 year old is hospitalised immediately, and you'd think it'd get easier to some extent because they'd be used to it, but everytime they feel like this is it, this is the time he'll walk in to the hospital and not walk out again

One of the most character defining moments for Oliver is when he arrives early to Saltburn and... walks up through the unlocked gates to knock on the door, because this is his friend's house that he was invited to, so why wouldn't he walk up to the front door, through the unlocked gates, to just knock on the door??

Like, people come up with all sorts of convoluted class discussion, but really? Who here hasn't had a friend who invited them over, who also had a little fence and a gate around their front yard, so when you went over to their house you just knew that you were fine opening the gate and walking up to their door to knock? Because you were invited, and this was your friend's house, and that's just... a thing that you can do?

Yet when Oliver is invited to his friend's house, and he arrives a little bit early, and he notices hey! there are gates here, that are unlocked! and he walks up through those unlocked gates to knock on the door to his friend's house that he was explicitely invited to? Duncan answers the door and is instantly confused because??? We sent a car for you?? The gates weren't OPEN??? But to Oliver?

Yeah the gates weren't open. But they also weren't locked.

And if the gate isn't locked? Then why shouldn't Oliver walk right through it once he's got an invitation?
