I'm once again thinking about the missed opportunities to have Klaus and Kol bond more. Part of Klaus' whole motivation as a vampire is to get his werewolf part back and to finally be stronger than Mikael (sort of, I'm simplifying) both of which can be obtained by breaking his curse. But Kol? Kol is the only other original that can relate to having a fundamental part of themself ripped away from them. Klaus might not have known he was a werewolf until he killed, but he likely still had a connection he couldn't explain, as evident by him going to watch the wolves transform. And something he'd never been able to explain was now gone. He might only be able to realise the connection afterwards through its absence.

Kol though. Kol had grown up with magic, a connection to nature and the world around him in a way the rest of his siblings supposedly didn't have. And then he gets turned. And not only has his baby brother died, his father has just murdered him and the rest of his siblings after forcing them to drink human blood, which he'll later learn. Now, not only does he have to deal with the grief of Henrik's death and also his own but also the loss of his magic. A loss that's likely only worsened by Kol being a self-proclaimed child prodigy.

Kol is pretty much the only one who could understand what Klaus is going through with the binding of his wolf. We know Kol searched for ways to get his magic back/carry on practicing magic in the same way that Klaus was looking for ways to break his curse. While Klaus likely could still feel his wolf there despite being bound, Kol has no access to his magic anymore. I just think they should've been able to bond or connect over their shared loss of an intrinsic aspect of their selves at the hands of their parents

Im sorry, but I cant stop thinking about Ramon and Fit's conversation today. A mixture of a summary and analysis below:

Ramon tried to get Phil to talk about Fit and Pac, but Phil misinterpreted it as asking about something else. Then Ramon got frustrated and started to dig a hole to blow up TnT in.

Fit went down and tried to talk to Ramon, only for him to get more frustrated and blow everything up. Then when Fit realized it was about Pac, he tried to tell Ramon to be patient.

That made Ramon lose it. He started "yelling" at Fit that he knows him. He experienced it first hand of Fit saying he needs time to learn create, only to learn a lot in a short amount of time. Yeah, Fit needs time, but if he puts his mind to something he can do it.

Ramon then said how basically he doesnt know if he will even survive long enough to see Fit and Pac do anything. He just came back from being kidnapped the third time. Hell, Dapper has been kidnapped 5 times.

Ramon knows his life and his family can be ripped away in seconds. He knows his life is precious and wants to experience as much of Fit's life as he can. He saw what happened to Bobby. Bobby died and then Roier and Cellbit proposed and got married. What if Ramon gets the same fate Bobby did?

Then when Fit tried to say that its tricky, Ramon gets frustrated and starts putting down TnT which obviously get Fit's attention. Fit get Ramon to stop and listen to him.

Fit reminds Ramon about his mission. The mission that basically holds Fit's life on a string. He tells Ramon that he doesnt want Pac to get involved in it because Pac doesnt deserve that. Fit has seen Pac in prison, escape Prison, get kidnapped, have his best friend get kidnapped, have his son get kidnapped, etc. Fit know this can be dangerous and doesnt want Pac to deal with that again. (also confesses he likes Pac but anyways)

Then Ramon pulls out this fucking line

"Dont you think a person that loves you would do anything for you?" "I would do anything"

Now this fucking breaks me. Because this is Ramon.

Ramon, who gave his only weapon to Max so Max could save his siblings. Ramon, who said he would do whatever Fit needs if it means completing his mission. The kid who trusts Fit no matter what and no matter what the cost. The boy who saved his siblings and family from an explosion that could have kill them. The kid who left his house and ran away with his siblings because he thought that Fit was in danger.

Ramon would do anything for Fit and Fit would do anything for Ramon. They are each other's halves. They complete each other.

And if there's a chance that Fit can be happy and loved just as much as Ramon loves him, then of course he wants Fit to take that opportunity. He doesnt want Fit to be alone. He doesnt want Fit to deal with all his trauma and problems alone. Yeah, Fit has his friends, but things happen.

Ramon then says that he knows theres a chance he might disappear again and that he wants someone who look after Fit if he isnt there. Ramon protects Fit as much as Fit protects him. If Ramon knew that there was someone to take care of Fit when he cant, he could be happy.

I could scream about these two all day. This conversation just showcases how much Ramon loves Fit, just as much as Fit loves Ramon. They want each other to be happy no matter what. Theres nothing the other would do. And if that means Ramon shoving Fit into Pac's arms then so be it.

Considering their pillow talk consists of casework, of course Dick's thoughts make an immediate leap to worst case scenarios. Just a few nights ago when Jason was coming down from his heat, the omega had been running through any number of pending caseloads he had, getting himself back on track from time lost and brushing off Dick's offers to assist because, 'you're welcome in my nest, not my territory, alpha.'

The pin is very much in Jason's territory, but the text is invitation enough, right?

Not that it matters. With little more than a mumble to his partner about how Dick needs to leave, he's grabbing his jacket and keys and jogging, running to get to his bike - to get to Gotham, to get to the Alley and to Jason. Dodging his coworkers as he texts Jason back because 'are you okay?' and 'on my way.’

A part of him wants to send one of their siblings despite Jason’s insistence it can only be Dick. If it's an emergency, if Jason is in danger, any of their siblings could be there faster to help until Dick can get there, himself. If not Tim, then Steph. If not Steph, Duke. Hell, Damian would burn the city down if need be. It's not like they don't have options.

All Dick gets in reply is a cryptic: 'death would be kinder than the mess i'm in rn'

Even through text, Dick picks up on Jason's usual brand of dark, dry humor and sarcasm. It doesn't speak much to Jason's safety or his condition, but whatever the mess is can't be too bad if Jason is texting and being ornery about it all.

Regardless of that assurance, Dick makes a forty minute drive in twenty and tracks Jason to a discreet alley off the main road. The omega has tucked himself away behind a dumpster and with how Jason curls in on himself, arms clutching his front, Dick's heart sinks in fear that Jason has been shot or something equally as terrible.

Dirt and grime be damned, Dick rushes to Jason and kneels in front of him - hands already running over him in a clinically concise check to look for any hurts.

It takes some coaxing, but when Jason lifts his head from his knees Dick startles because oh. Jason's face is flushed. There are actual tears welled up in his eyes, arms drawn around his chest and body curled forward as if to hide himself. It reminds Dick so much of when Jason was younger and despite the circumstances he feels charmed and endeared by the show of vulnerability and how Jason trusts him with it.

"It's okay, I've got you." Dick promises. "Tell me what's wrong."

Jason's upper lip lifts in a snarl and that sweet Robin Dick remembers from a lifetime ago falls away to the omega Dick falls in love with time and again. The vicious snarl wobbles soon enough though, wrought with whatever emotion it is Jason is feeling and then Jason keens with…mortification?

It startles Dick to attention, but what's more surprising is how Jason lowers his hands and - and - and-

Jason's top is soaked through. Wet with...

Dick swallows thickly. He can't stop staring. There's not a thought in his alpha brain besides how his omega is milking.

He starts to smile despite the circumstances and Jason smacks him for it, bemoaning Dick and his incessant kneading of Jason's tits and how this is all Dick's fucking fault. Fucking knothead alpha!

'It's natural!' Dick defends while shrugging off his jacket to wrap over Jason's shoulders and give the omega a sense of modesty and security.

But Dick really is a fucking knothead alpha. Discreet as he tries to be, he tries to smell the milk and Jason growls at him, too embarrassed to deal with Dick's antics in that moment because this has never happened before.

And Dick can't help himself again, he preens a bit. Taking pride in himself as an alpha and laughing when Jason slaps at him.

"Sorry, sorry," Dick apologizes, pulling Jason in for a hug to comfort him. The omega settles against him, but grumbles all the while, a constant rumble of displeasure over the inconvenience. Dick rubs his hand along Jason's back and kisses the side of his head, smiling brightly as he heaves a sigh, "Fuck, I was scared you were hurt."

"My pride is hurt." Jason complains and as an afterthought whines, "And my tits are so fucking tender."

"I can - " Dick starts.

Jason nips him and growls, "Not a fucking chance. You've had your fun, alpha."

Contrary to popular belief Soap is not a firebender instead he is an airbender.

He looks like an firebender bc well he works with fire with explosions with bombs thing that make fire but thats the thing fire feeds off of air that why his "fire" reaches levels so high maybe impossibly high for normal firebenders.

And you cant really see airbending and airbenders are very rare almost extint like the avatar thats why most people believe he is a firebender and he didnt correct people about it, it wasnt need to know for people anyway.

the team doesnt know he is an airbender either. his file says he is a nonbender. He changed it bc he didnt want to get experimented on...again.

Oh team! Price is an earthbender Gaz is a firebender and Ghost is a waterbender

Price is a very strong earthbender he is specificly mastered at metal bending its very usefull on field. Bullet coming at high speed? Change their way. Helicopter took shot? Bend the metal so it still works. Gaz and Soap deffinetly makes him study lava bending too bc its basicly fire in liquid form and well Gaz and Soap both love chaos. He and Gaz doesnt like mission on the ocean.

Gaz is a relativly strong firebender even tho he is new at using it for his job. Police force didnt really need an firebender unless they were against a bender criminal. One day someone from the team was at danger and it was raining so he couldnt really use fire he needed more concentration but there werent any time to focus. So he instictivly redirected a lightning que suprised pikachu face. After that time he started to study lightning bending.

Ghost was one of the strongest waterbender. Everyone expected him to be something fierce like fire or something sturdy like earth nothing like the calming water. But the ocean is dangerous, its deep dark and all moving...constantly changing. He started with ice bending it come in handy with bruises his father gave him. His mother was also a waterbender she tought him how to bend water to heal. It was one of his favorite memories. But after failing to save so many people he swore off using his bending to heal...Soap changed that for him (will tell more about it below) In military they forced him to learn bloodbending. Its very usefull in his line of work but he hates using it so he doesnt unless its dire. His fave thing to use is ice blades.

Soap is an airbender an outcast of his bloodline. At first noone noticed he was an airbender instead they all tought he was a nonbender until the accident even after the accident his family never bothered to teach him his element instead they tought him of all of them easier to disguise as another bender easier to explain. They would rather have a nonbender than an airbender even if it meant the pure bloodline seemed as mixed. After the incident he was scared of his own abilities promised himself that he would never ever use it. That made him easier to manipulate easier to control. Because if he also didnt want to have the freedom of air why give him space to breathe at all? Que in an adopted sibling (they had to both parents never home and someone had to take care of the useless child.) same as him, who understood what he been through they bended air too... They showed him that air is not something to be scared of air is warm air is colming breeze of the sea air is warmth before the rain air is colder but calming breeze after a rain. With them he started learning really learning airbending. Airbending is usually not seen its after affects are or if there is dust or any light objects that air can lift. That made their study sessions easier to hide from his parents. When he first joined the army at 16 -after his siblings death(more on that later maybe..)- they somehow learned that he bended air. Air benders are rare and the goverment likes to use whatever they can get thier grabby dirt hands on. He trusted his team he trusted someone more then he trusted his team he decided that person was a familyto him. Loosing the only family left person he ever confided in to his team of all people was devistating. With that he was experimented on, used, a mouse that is in an endless maze just to get to a cheese after a while it became too much so he let go thats where he learned spirit projection. When he escaped He ruined them and his former team, he was the only one left alive. There was no marks anywhere. Not a single wound on the victims of his destruction just still air no sound nothing. Later it was diagnosed all of the team who betrayed their own for easy mony was killed by suffication. There is a reason airbenders dont fight. Air is everywhere -unless you are in space-. Air may look docile and weak but air is the only element that has no natural detterent. We’ve seen waterbenders imprisoned in places with no water, earthbenders kept in captivity in the middle of the ocean and powerless firebenders in snowy fortresses...Air is what keeps you alive. Air is in your lungs someone can force it out withought you knowing it until its too late....(I lost my toughts here sorry)

Soap and Gaz? Fire and air. Air what makes the fire grow. Im sure Soap and Gaz have fun with this information they immideatly click they are brothers im sure Gaz's family "adopted" Soap when he made Soap meet his family bc they kept asking about him (he sent presents and homemade crochet stuff with Gaz all the time so they had to meet him and thank him properly) first thing gaz says is "It looks like you stole my place in the family! I was supposed to be their child they never treat me like how they treat you" he pouts but he is so glad that he was able to give Soap a family he never had before. They may or may not have singed the ceiling while trying to light the candles on Gaz's younger siblings birthday cake. They also train Gaz's lightning bending together well Gaz trains and Soap watches its an excuse for him to get soaked in the rain. Soap sometimes helps with his postures tho so no Price he is not here to just to get soaked thank you. One time Soap brought out (made Price buy/make them bc it was an experiment and i promise its safe) other types of elements that color change a fires color just to see if he can make Gaz have rainbow fire.

Soap and Ghost Air and Water. While air has more compatiblity with fire to work with. Soap and Ghost makes it work they are both ever changing elements. They use their elements in combat as a distraciton they make mist, they make vortexes they make pressured water they make little water droplets together just for Ghost to turn them to ice when they start falling and Soap makes their way by changing the air currents. They probably try to come up with new stuff on their spare times. Soap was also the reason Ghost started back in the healing bussiness he always came with wounds but the last stike to the thin threat of Ghost's dedication on not using healing ever was in Las Almas after getting shot Soap's bullet wound needed healing and it needed it fast. The bullet was lodged in there (Soap was just greatfull it didnt come anywhere near his chakras) But he was loosing blood faster and well what if he waited last minute to tell Ghost that he had anemia it wasnt his fault that he remembered that just before passing out! Ghost was forced to use his healing and well even though he was a bit rough from lack of usage he managed to treat the wound as best as he can (he was really glad it was fullmoon and rained that day) And that was start of a something new something fragile after all water is the element of change. Also he only uses the healing on Soap and well who is to say he took this as an adventage to hangout with Ghost more and run away from the medical nurses he always that knows his name by now. He may love needles but he loves hanging out with Ghost and feeling of his cool but somehow also warm waterbending on his skin...

2 years between moto and season 11, atleast 5 months between s11 and s12, 5 more months between s12 and s13, 4 months between s13 and the island, a month between the island and s15, canonically a year between s15 and crystallized, 2 years between crystallized and the merge, 5 years between the merge and the events of DR

and jenna and ethan's ages during these times:

jenna: a year old during s11, almost two years old during s13, turned three a while after nya left, four during crystallized, six when the merge happened, and 11 in current time

ethan: a year old when the merge happened, and 6 in current time

I..know it's probably confusing, but I can attempt to explain more if you don't understand!

jenna was born just a year after moto, and ethan was born also a year after crystallized!

and from that, the age difference between them is 5 years

jenna inherits jay's powers, and ethan inherits nya's

ethan has ADHD and lacks good social skills due to being surrounded by only 2 people for most of his childhood, while jenna has anxiety, trust issues and some slight ptsd

oh and I can't forget to sprinkle the t r a u m a on them both

they have a good dynamic and bicker normally like siblings always do, but jenna sometimes needs to have her alone time and hates when anyone bothers her so she can snap at any time

while ethan is sensitive and cant control himself, especially if he sees someone distressed, but if he himself is the distressed one either no one should even come near him or he needs a genuiene hug or encouraging words from someone

I'm not sure when jenna will get her powers and will get her true potential, but until I figure it out, she gets her potential when she saw a certain someone in danger (kinda placeholder!!)

she didnt have control of her powers much at first, but would soon learn its abilities

and when ethan gets his powers, it doesn't go smoothly at all due to nya having been turned into the sea, so all the sudden power is..quite a painful experience without control

his true potential? realizing his worth and saving his sister from danger

I don't have exact birthdays for them yet, but the placeholders for now are may 23rd (jenna) and october 8th (ethan)

when they got a bit older, jenna decided to dye some streaks of her hair blue (and one time had a pixie cut), ethan didn't take any creative liberties with his hair but would sometimes style it when he's bored

jenna was named by jay, and while nya had wanted lilly she didnt mind and just she told him ''as long as you don't name her nya junior I won't throw you off a building"

lilly in the end was just given as a middle name

want a fun fact? jenna was the one that named ethan, the moment she saw him in his little blanket she just kept shouting "ethan! ethan!"

jenna always had a love for mechanism, while ethan would break a tv just by staring at it

tbf he does kind of have an intrest, but he finds it boring and just likes how it looks, but he is fairly good at it and just needs help

and jenna has a HUGE obsession for drawing and painting, while ethan likes cooking and is declared 'the gordon ramsey of the walkers* by jenna lmao

jenna's special nickname is JJ! long story short, it was at first a shortened version of 'jay junior' that was actually a joke but then it became her actual nickname lmao

jenna was attached to both her parents but felt closer to nya, especially after seabound

she'd watch her and jay in the sam x cave for ages

never remembering nya nor jay, ethan was wary of nya at first and tried to stay close to jenna but the moment she hugged him? he felt safe and knew it was right (shoot I'm kinda spoiling the reunion uhh)

jenna says she has no favourite uncle, but it's secretly cole and only he knows that

and she bullies kai, even when she's not ordered to do so by jay 👌

she does have a good bond with all of them tho!

jenna, in dragons rising, is 5'0 and will stay that height for a while until she hits a sudden growth spurt at 13 and is literally 5'6

happens with ethan aswell, he's only 6 so he's about 3'8 which is average for his age, but he'll keep growing taller and taller and he stops growing once he reached 5'8

in this au, maya and ray are a tad closer to nya than they are in the actual show, they visit regularly to check on her, jay and jenna (soon ethan aswell)

from the way all the ninja grieved, it was extremely lonely for a 3 almost 4 year old kid, especially with how everything happened so suddenly and how she can't yet process grief well, she only had cole who'd stay with her alot when she wasn't at her grandparents

even at their places it felt gloomy, but she loved to distract herself when she'd be in the junkyard by helping ed collect scraps and build with him (when her love of mechanism began)

and she loved to take walks with maya or ray at ignacia, or watch ray blacksmithing

it calmed her down a bit, but she knew something was still missing

edit: jay was also not in the best place after nya left, and wasn't able to spend time with jenna because she reminded him so much of nya, so he went to the lighthouse before he got too far

crystallized was..not the best experience either

because of spoilers and still planning out some more stuff, time to jump to post-crystallized

jenna grew much closer to nya, and had went to school 2 months after ethan was born!

she started in first grade, and was chaotic as fuck

she beat a kid in her class once just because he didnt like her drawings, obviously did not end well but she won and she was proud af 😎

during the timeskip after the merge, when ethan hit 4, lloyd would do some sort of homeschooling for him since he and jenna never left the monastery

FIRST UP This one hasn't actually been touched yet! by me at least aside from a doodle and adding my own two cents to it cause I keep forgetting to ask @pillowspace if they're planning anything more with it since the flailfest I unleashed over it XD And idk if tumblr search is being a butt but the only post/thread/thing I can find for it rn is this pic I did? no idea where the reblog chains went?? THOUGH in the last... 2 hours I think? I'd end up combining my thoughts on it with the red string soulmate AU cause who doesn't like to throw in the tension of 'how am I linked to a robot' as a soulmate??? THE MAIN GIST of it though was that YN has pretty bad vision. Enough to occasionally use a cane but not so much they can't get around on their own as long as they know where they're going. They have SOME vision but it's pretty blurry so their job options are also pretty limited (they insist on working to take care of their kid sibling, who's kind of a lovable brat). Sun/Moon have escaped from The Faz, and are currently in 'hiding' as a drifter/hobo sort. They've got a big hoodie and sun hides his rays during the day, but pretty soon after escaping they run into a street kid. Absolutely not standing for this, they end up doing what they can to help provide food/shelter for the kid, and eventually sort of gain their own little pack of them(and their families) and put their skills to use to build nice ish but still crappy shelters and work around here and there to bring back food. At some point they cross paths with YN and help them out with some heavy lifting, but YN doesn't pick up the fact they're an animatronic. They part ways, but run into each other again (pluck the red string a bit here for the pull of fate slamming them together again). Stuff happens, there's an incident with a third party, and Sun offers to walk YN home for safety. They talk as they go and things go well. They part. This goes on for a while and eventually Sun meets the sibling. Sibling is IN THE KNOW right away. BIG SQUINT. They get blackmailed by the child. Meanwhile YN is unaware and starts doing little things like making food for them as a thankyou. Food they cant eat, but the people they're helping can. THIS keeps going, more cute interactions, then one day there's a bigass storm and YN insists Sun stay over cause it's dangerous. He can't justify going out enough so he begrudgingly stays. The lights go out. NOW, MOON is not ok with this. Sort of. He doesn't trust YN at all at first and is only slightly ok when they start giving them food they can bring and also helping them out with more cash than they were making otherwise to get things their folks need. When he shows up though, he does his best(bad job) to try and pass for sun until the storm passes, but it's uh... A Struggle. YN isn't sure what's up but they shrug it off. Later after more basics, the news picks up The Faz is looking for the runaway animatronic. Sun/Moon panic. They're not in the most hidden area, but now there's a problem. MOON is not on board with maybe asking YN for help. They're definitely getting closer, but they're also positive that YN would rat them out. Not justified, but still. He's wary. SO time to test YN. He'll prove to Sun You can't be trusted, and one day after walking them home a little later at night, flips the switch and bam. Moon Time. Classic Moon Time. Well, Almost. Something of a chaotic reveal, YN is scared, but mostly taken aback they never put two and two together. BUT there's that pull. That little red string pulled tight in their soul. Moon won't hurt them. And they couldn't bear ratting them out. There's some back and forth along the way of the boys being in denial about actually having some kind of string of fate, and once the bot reveal happens, YN is like Oh god. Oh god I was falling for them. They aren't even Human. Im an IDIOT. But they also couldn't bear to throw them under the bus and let something bad happen. So as the Faz follows the rumors of the boys helping out this little pocket community, and they need somewhere to actually hide, the offer is made. Things are tense with Moon out and about freely now, now that Sun knows he won't be a problem, but Moon is still waiting for things to go south. The next while is pretty domestic, mostly them hiding out and getting anxious they can't help their kids. YN realizing how stupid they've been about SO MUCH. But also having Sun and Moon around the house as another pair of hands is... very helpful. Extremely so. And even though Moon is standoffish, both do go out of their way to make some things easier. YN can breathe for the first time in a while. they aren't doing things all on their own anymore, as much as they could, it's nice to be able to have someone loosen the line. They fuss over some things, the 'i can do it' vibe running strong, but Sun and Moon try not to step on their toes. Aaaand I tHINK that's about as far as stuff got in the rambling? (But Pillow, idk if you did wanna do stuff with this, but if not I am all kinds of on board to futz with it XD')

Been thinking about this a lot. Dunno if you watch One Piece or not BUT that does not matter-

What I have been thinking about is a pirate crew. Where the captain is anything but the stereotypical kind. All he cares about are his crew, dreams, and food. And his first mate, who is loyal and would lay down his life at any given instant with no questions asked if the captain asks him of it. Lets also make this first mate a self sacrificial idiot and the crew are sibling like, i.e, a bunch of tsunderes who will willingly cry and laugh but wont admit their worry for each other. Now this first mate is a swordsman, who has sworn his blades and his loyalty and his life to his captain for the protection of the crew and the captain. But he had to use it against his captain, due to some sort of spell used, and to break him out of it, he would have to raise it against his captain. But then everything is fine, once all is explained and the happy-go-lucky captain is all smiles again. But the first mate is guilt ridden and that night after dinner, he talks to the captain about how he commited mutiny, and should be punished for his actions, and about how the captain should make an example out of him, and the crew is shocked and the captain refuses but after multiple requests he does infact give him exactly what he wanted because he understood that if he did not give this to him, the guy would be burdened to lay his life down even more. So the captain ties his hands above his head on the deck and leaves him there and none of the crew is able to face him unless the assigned time of 3 days, without food is over.

Imagine the scope. The potential this has. Even better, if the furst mate is terrible with words and thinks he can only show his care by working for them and laying his life on the line, and although he knows his crew has his back, he cant help but feel that his crew would be just fine even without him. And after the punished time is over everyone shows their care in their own special ways (the cook/left wing of the captain makes the first mates favourite meals for lile a week, the navigator(also the one who calls the shots because her crew is a bunch of idiots but she loves them) gives him an allowance for more booze when the dock on the next island, their sniper draws near him and keeps him company in comfortable silence, their archeologist reads to him and discusses topics with him making sure he remains comfortable, their shipwright makes the crow's nest, which happens to be the spot where the first mate spends most of his nights for night watch, warmer and makes new training equipment for him, their musician sings songs from the swordsman's childhood and their doctor( who is a reindeer) snuggles him to sleep and fusses over him and health. And not to mention the captain is basically stuck to him physically. A magnet would be a great description for it.).

Maybe the first mate could deal with the pain of having their arms suspended for a long time and the reduced blood flow. And when they get their arms back down, pain!

Also their team looking after them is adorable. They’d probably need to rest and lots of care to get back on their feet! Maybe they find in their weakened state they get sea sick and can’t keep anything down, making it worse for them and preventing them from recovering which makes them weaker still! Ooooh and the angst of their emotions thinking they’ve betrayed their captain and not trusting themself anymore, thinking they’re too dangerous it’s all very nice!

I’m really fuckin angry about “Shattered.”

Lionel Luthor is like some kind of mestastacizing cancer. 

He manages to make Clark feel guilty for being loyal to Lex, and blame himself for Lana’s injuries, which are wholly an accident ultimately caused BY Lionel. 

He makes certain Lex will never trust ANY form of psychiatric care (which he desperately needs) because the person could (quite plausibly!) be tied to Lionel.  Which, whether Lex stays in the “looney bin” that he already mistrusts, or is released and then slowly erodes under the force of (justified!) paranoia, will ensure that his son has a psychotic break that’s REAL, and then externalize it onto others.

This was the perfect opportunity for Clark to come clean to Lex.  The look on Lex’s face, when Clark busted Edge’s car, is one of almost rapturous, tearful awe.  He is happy to know Clark isn’t human; he is grateful that Clark stood by him and convinced Chloe and Lana to help.  But instead Clark chooses to run.  

I also think Jonathan and Martha are the least likable they’ve ever been. Harboring Lex would not have put Clark in danger anymore than letting Lex go  Edge wasn’t even after Clark.  It seems like bad writing that they’d just stand there looking sorry for Lex and not fucking HELP him. Where the hell are their parental instincts??? I mean, even Jonathan had finally caved and accepted Lex at this point, and he just bought them their entire farm back! 

It’s also bad writing that everyone would think Lionel trying to drug his son was implausible. Like, that’s Satan’s ballsack, folks, hair and all.  Why the hell would you think him incapable of that? 

Anyway Michael Rosenbaum is the best actor on that show and he broke my heart with his amazingly nuanced performance in this episode.  I remember the “Hurt” Johnny Cash number to this day, and I don’t  care if Lionel is having misgivings while watching his only child walk around in a padded cell with the belief that he is so completely alone in the world, putting him there because that child took his own teachings and applied them TOO well.

I fucking HATE him. 

Other observations: 

1) Do we ever find out exactly how Lex “hurt” baby Julian and “caused him to die”? (I don’t think Lionel was lying about this, but I have to fucking hate him even more because he then weaponizes that childhood trauma to make Lex feel guilty and falter--”Be careful, Lex, I can’t lose another child”r ead: like you made me lose Julian and Lucas already. AGH!)  Can we also acknowledge the school belltower incident a little more because....god... “You know I cant take it when he cries, dad.”  What does that mean. Does that mean he accidentally smothered Julian? Does that mean he held him too tightly when singing a lullabye and “can’t take it” was a compassion response? Is Lex actually autistic, and did he panic because he was in sensory overload? 

2) I remember now that this episode is why I was never hugely on board with Clex. I can completely see why people ship it.  But I’ve had a longtime headcanon that, once Lucas didn’t pan out, Clark more fully became Lex’s second chance at raising a baby sibling, and Lex uses the only love language he knows--gifts--to express his need to be important to Clark.  This got even more pronounced after Helen’s betrayal, and Lionel’s (latest), and certainly was always brewing because Lex was close to Lillian, and Julian’s death had to profoundly wound her.  Lex has been carrying that guilt around for nearly two decades, and it’s VERY significant that when he was feeling the most vulnerable and afraid, his mind went to what his psyche still deems his worst and most shameful mistake.

YOUR TAKE!! ON AURAS!! HAS ME ON A CHOKE HOLD (long ask, grab some snacks you're in for a ride maybe)

aura colors is so interesting and it's so cool that it signifies stuff about themit would make sense for it to be at least somewhat familial, given mob and ritsu have similar colors and like this next thing im about to say has no real,, canon? basis but i like to think the colors also have something to do with their personality traits!

take the kageyama brothers for instance: ritsu and mob both have a considerable amount of purple but it's emphasised in mob's aura, while it's blue that's emphasised in ritsu's. purple is more associated with trust and compassion? intuition and strong character while blue is associated with intelligence and integrity and loyalty and that kind of matches up!!

teru's aura is more green and yellow, which are (im so sorry but) EYE SEARING TO ME and maybe it has something to do with his Need to stand out and be eye catching, his whole personality (in the anime at least) is bright and loud, he feared he'd be nothing without his flashiness and his powers agxhdhj

shou's is actually so interesting to me!! there's hints of pink and yellow and red and orange and it's so pretty actually :] i think those would be inseparable from boisterous and fiery, his shounen anime protagonist setup and passionate personality

serizawa!! purple and pink mostly i think, pink signifying sensitivity and kindness! he doesn't want to harm anyone, and hes flighty and nervous but so so gentle

and the subtle changes make so much sense with that taken into consideration i think! more range probably means stronger and more wide array of emotions just like you mentioned. stronger more forceful more painful oughdhhfi

also like to think that as you said, textures are based on personality but also are unique to every character. i think that would be a really cool sort of identification, just like a fingerprint maybe but more colourful and potentially destructive☆

psychic powers themselves being inherited could make sense, given i cant recall any siblings that are like one has powers the other doesn't, ritsu and shigeo have them, the telepathic twins do too. i do like to believe teru's parents and the kageyama parents are not psychics at all and honestly just. i feel like im mirroring your thoughts back to you your questions are so good!!!

shige reaching ???% before suppressing emotions though, i'd say that's because he was in danger/paralysed with fear. HE physically couldn't do anything, so all the Things he was feeling took over is my personal theory. this happens over and over when his emotions are stronger than he can do anything about

giving reigen ALL of mobs powers is such an interesting phenomenon ok yes it absolutely had to do with trust but one thing i really liked was that it wasn't 100%; it was 1000%. he's a child, he didn't want to do anything violent and be held responsible for it, and reigen gave him a way out of that. reigen said no, you dont have to shoulder this it's not your responsibility. and mob is grateful. and THAT is what goes to reigen, it's 1000% gratitude towards reigen and if left unattended i would write a 13k word essay but the fact that it wasn't just 100. it was MORE IT WAS AMPLIFIED is very important to me

GOD YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT REIGEN Mob thought he was DEAD and it made him give his master what he needed to stay alive because Shige can bear getting attacked without fighting back but he can't bear Shishou dying 😢 Mob and Reigen care a LOT about each other and it's overshadowed a lot of the time by other relationships

my thing with ???% is basically, why is Shige so strong. later in his life it's clear that ???% is the one who holds the vast majority of his power beCAUSE he suppresses his emotions, but why does it even exist? when they got jumped as kids, why was it already there? where did that power come from??? Shige is nuts and I need to know why.

I like your thoughts on color too-- I agree that they have something to do with personality, but I guess to me that part of their color seems slightly more situational. do one hundred percent agree that textures HAVE to be unique it's so so important to me that Teru's oily little ripples are special. psychics also have to be unmistakably identifiable by feeling. when Teru picks Mob up that one time it reminds him just a little bit of their fight. when ???% holds Ritsu in place on the bridge, the reminder of how it feels is what first gives Ritsu the idea to just let Shigeo kill him. hurting his little brother is what brought Mob back the first time, so why wouldn't a more extreme version work?

ok so here's my Wen Qing Falls In A Hole canon divergence au where wen qing falls into the cave at muxi mountain with the rest of the indoctrination disciples and things turn out much better

this happens because wen chao is tired of her doing things that help wei wuxian, so the rope she's climbing up "accidentally" gets cut and she falls back into the cave

(wen ruohan will not be happy about this but will ultimately excuse it because it is his son)

everyone is like "ra ra we have a prisoner" except wwx and jc (and lwj by merit of being largely Stoic about it but also he sees that wwx trusts her and hes willing to follow his lead on this)

mianmian hesitantly puts herself in with the two of them because a) wwx just got fucking branded on her behalf, and b) she met wq at lectures as well and while they werent friends or any she seemed nice enough, for a wen. shes a doctor and helped jyl out after all.

jin zixuan is Unenthused but pulls back from the discussion because he trusts mianmian's judgement

wq is tired of this discussion and says "listen im not gonna do jack shit, call me your prisoner all you want, can we deal with the giant murderous tortoise in the room first? also lwj let me look at your leg ive been itching to get my hands on it for days"

wq looks at lwj's leg and wwx's injuries. no one else asks for her help and she doesnt offer it but mianmian does quietly thank her.

everyone else is sufficiently diverted away from the prisoner idea because jc looks like hes about to start biting people

they still need to deal with the giant murderous tortoise in the room

it goes similarly to how it does in canon, except:

no one is particularly interested in helping her leave the cave (she fell down a cliff, shes definitely injured and would need help) except for the noted people above, but jc, as the jiang heir, is the best person to lead them out through the underwater tunnel and get help, so when theyre separated from the main pack wq and wwx haul lwj into the little side cave

she tends to their wounds and helps them strategize how to kill it, sees the weird romantic tension, and goes to another corner to pointedly not touch that with a ten foot pole. she does let out the BIGGEST sigh when she hears wwx say "aaaah you like mianmian dont youuuu"

eventually they mcmurder the tortoise.

wq helps tend to their wounds and pokes at the sword a little bit and Does Not Like how much it reminds her of the yin iron wrh has. lwj frets.

wq does not care about his fretting. she is tired. she is stressed. she is hungry. she fell down a cliff earlier. her family might be in danger because shes no longer covering for them in nightless city.

blah blah time passes, jiang cheng rescues them, and then, bless his heart, he invites her to come back to lotus pier with them

fuck it. its not like she has other options. she cant go back because wen chao will accuse her of treason bcuz she could only have survived by helping the others, and that would definitely get her and her family killed.

besides, wei wuxian is still passed out and clutching The Sword and she thinks maybe its better to keep an eye on that.

flash forward to them being at lotus pier

maybe she made a wrong choice. madam yu is like. the fucking worst, and wq served under wen ruohan.

despite yzy's general lack of hospitality towards a wen, she warns the jiangs that wrh will probably make an attack on lotus pier. when yzy attempts to blame wwx (having heard what happened from the jiang disciples that came back with jc), wq very neatly cuts in to say that it was always part of the plan, along with the attack on the unclean realm and the burning of cloud recesses.

jiang cheng is hopelessly attracted to her. not that he wasn't before but like. hes absolutely reorienting all of his standards as she speaks.

jiang yanli is delighted by her presence and has inducted her into the long-suffering older siblings club and reassures her that wen ning and her family are probably fine. she finds every scrap of intel she can to give to wq.

The Attack On Lotus Pier

when sect leader yao shows up, jiang fengmian, heeding wq's warning (which yzy begrudgingly accepts because preparation cant hurt, at least), chooses not to escort him this time. he sends him to lanling a few disciples and instructs them to keep a low profile on their journey.

he is there when wang lingjiao storms in with the kite and tries to punish wwx.

he refuses to punish wwx the way wlj asks, trying to deflect to something else, which makes yzy angry. they argue until wlj makes a comment about unhappy marriages and says "itll be better here once we take over" and yzy turns the full force of her concentrated rage on the little upstart who thinks she can tell a meishan yu what to do.

the flare still goes off, summoning the rest of the wen forces, but with both jfm and yzy present, wwx not injured, and the preparations done because of wq's warning, they succeed in their defense

i think jfm and/or yzy should lose their core to wzl though. spice things up. jc and wwx get to keep theirs.

wen zhuliu fucking dies tho

"what about wen ning?" you ask. "and the dafan wens?"

after wq disappeared, wrh had no use for wn and sent him off with the rest of the forces - luckily, with the group sent to lotus pier. wn isnt a strong fighter, but is a decent archer and has some medical knowledge as a dafan wen.

the dafan wens are left to their own devices because theres no point in killing them to punish someone presumed dead, and at this point wrh still recognizes the tactical advantage of a family of doctors under his control. thus, theyre basically back to being treated as normal wen civilians, which i have no doubt is still bad, but they arent all being murdered indiscriminately

anyways when the attack on lotus pier happens, wn is among the attacking force, but slips away because he likes wwx and jc. he doesnt want to be here even more than his usual level of "i dont want to be here"

he still helps the wounded, though, but he doesnt distinguish between wen and jiang. he's helping a jiang disciple after the battle is over when a group of jiang disciples find him.

they bring him in with other prisoners and wq (who had been shoved in a room with jyl when fighting broke out) sees him pass by and attempts to yoink him from the lineup. jyl has to convince the disciples to let her take the two of them.

realizations are had, wen ning is brought to the main hall, explanations are made, joyful reunions abound

from there its all canon divergence. the sunshot campaign happens. wwx may or may not invent demonic cultivation, but it's by studying The Sword and how wrh's puppets work. wq agrees to aid the sunshot campaign but its conditional on getting the dafan wens to safety before wrh realizes she's alive.

she also stops a lot of stupidity and angst amongst the main characters by merit of not being afraid to smack them when they're being difficult. she, jyl, and lxc become besties, and she cottons on to jgy's weird vibes, which will prevent yet another cascade of bullshit cause and effect.

Greetings From the Grey Tide

Our Players this week:

Dagne, Vengeance Paladin, an undead soldier with the curious property of acting like a living person. Trusts nobody and acts as the leader.

Ro, Circle of Spores Druid, a Talentan halfling who survived The Mourning and won’t go home. They tend to not take things seriously.

Vaeren, Swarmkeeper Ranger, a Deathguard sent to investigate Dagne’s nature. They’re the quiet one who helps keep everyone in line.

Syv, Glamour Bard, a traveling performer turned traveling adventurer. Personas are Eshi, a sea elf, and Star, a shifter.

Adonis, Berserker Barbarian, a planetouched Shavarath tiefling. He’s large, strong, soft spoken, and not very bright, but he is filled with loyalty to his friends.

In the morning, the party wakes up still feeling the harsh defeat of a few days ago. Minroy died and Inesa, his killer, had completely escaped. Dagne notices a slip of paper by the door, something which had probably been slipped under during the night. They pick it up, unfold it, and read “Red Watcher Inesa Yanova is in Coldport. She is negotiating with the captain of the S.S. Bitterbloom, Kalina Soria, for last minute passage to the Lhazaar Principalities. - A Seeker of the Divinity Within” curiously, the note is written in three separate scripts. Immediately, the party hurries to the docks. They quickly find the dockmaster and Eshi asks after the location of the S.S. Bitterbloom. Everyone is relieved to learn that it’s still in port, and will remain for two days.

The party goes to check out the ship and find a big, fast looking warship. The docks are swarming with people of all races. Then, one changes to another face. Excited because they’ve already guessed what this is, Eshi changes back to Syv. One of the sailors approaches them and says, “Greetings from the Grey Tide, sibling!” Ro asks after the captain of the S.S. Bitterbloom, and the sailor says that she’s gone right now negotiating cargo prices, but she should be back in a couple hours, and asks why the party needs to see her. Dagne only reveals that it’s about a passenger and it’s important.

With some time to kill, the party takes to the streets to try to find word of Inesa. Syv changes back to Eshi once they leave the safety of the port. While asking around, they just so happen to catch the ears of a large tiefling man, who approaches them. His name is Adonis, and it just so happens that he’s also after Inesa because she murdered his friend. Dagne questions his motives and his ability to actually get revenge, Ro rides on Eshi’s shoulders to be closer to eye level. Eventually, the party is satisfied that Adonis is, indeed, qualified to be going after such a dangerous quarry and agree to let him accompany them.

In a few hours, after finding nothing else, the party returns to the S.S. Bitterbloom to meet with Captain Kalina Soria. They’re led aboard and taken to the captain’s quarters. She’s a Khoravar, or at least appears to be one, wearing a big pirate hat with the symbol of the Grey Tide on the side, a red pirate coat with golden buttons, poofy pants, and a cutlass at her belt. On her shoulder, a purple pseudodragon perches and eyes the party. “So, what’s this about on of my passengers?”

Eshi changes back to Syv after passing a message to Kalina in skin cant, confirming that they’re both changelings. Dagne tells Kalina all about Inesa, producing the bounty sheet as proof. Kalina is receptive, agreeing to help the party catch her as long as she herself isn’t put in front of a Tribunal for aiding a wanted criminal. Insight into her motives only suggests that she wants to avoid the harsh Karrnathi law in this grave matter. Seeing the terms as reasonable, the party agrees to keep Kalina out of the legal proceedings. In return, Kalina offers information. She is going to meet Inesa in an alley that night for payment, 200 galifars for last minute passage to the Lhazaar Principalities. The party can set up an ambush once payment is rendered and Kalina is safely out of the alley.

The party sets up their ambush, Dagne with Ro and Eshi on one side, Adonis and Vaeren on the other. The latter group manages to get the drop on Inesa, Vaeren setting a hunter’s mar on Inesa before shooting her, Adonis running up and attacking her with a thrust of his flamberge, aided by a searing smite. Shaken, Inesa produces a vial of clear liquid with a single spide suspended in it, drinks it, and then runs straight up the wall. Adonis manages to slice at her as she flees. The chase is on. Eshi and Vaeren take to the rooftops after Inesa while Dagne and Ro riding on Adonis’ back follow on the street. Dagne issues a magical command to Inesa to halt, but she continues running, unaffected. A dwarf wearing armor comes to view on the street ahead. Vaeren shoots Inesa and ghostly hands drag her from the roof. The dwarf, now clearly Valtis Redeyes, catches her. Donata shows herself as well.

Just when Adonis catches up, Inesa throws a small white crystal at his forehead. He instantly goes into a rage, then a frenzy. She looks confused, it didn’t have the desired effect. Dagne issues a vow of enmity to Inesa, runs up, crits and smites on a slash of their longsword. “You should just come quietly. Last time, you got the better of us, but you made a grave mistake. You will regret facing us again.” Vaeren shoots at Inesa, a ghost correcting the shot mid-flight so it strikes Inesa in a gap in her armor. “Don’t kill any of them!” Dagne orders the party. “They need to face the Tribunal!” Donata produces a small pane of glass from her pack and dashes it against the ground, the action letting out a painful ringing sound and causing Adonis and Ro to take thunder damage in sympathy with the glass. Focused singularly on Inesa though, Adonis runs up to her. He intends to strike nonlethally, as ordered, but in his frenzy he stabs Inesa right through the torso with his flamberge. The wound is obviously fatal. “Welp,” Valtis Redeyes says, before sticking his hand in his bag and vanishing. Quickly, Dagne disarms the dying Inesa and pushes her to her knees, their longsword against her neck. Simultaneously, their touch imbues her with a small bit of healing magic, enough to save her life.

Vaeren shoots at the stunned Donata and the ghosts drag her up to Adonis. She regathers her wits and misty steps onto the roof, attempting to flee the doomed battle. The party pursues her, Vaeren shoots her leg to slow her, Ro knocks her from the roof, and Adonis grapples her. With two out of the three conspirators captured, the party puts them in manacles and heads for the main barracks in Coldport.

Dagne, Eshi, and Adonis enter with the prisoners while Vaeren and Ro remain outside. As soon as they enter, one of the guards looks Inesa in the face. Soon, he recognizes her, “I’ll be damned, somebody caught her.” He approaches the defeated terrorist and punches her in the gut, doubling her over. “We can’t have people killing our own.” The commander of the garrison then walks in. He’s a ruinbound dwarf, two tentacles with eye stalks growing from his neck. All four eyes settle on Inesa, who puts on a show of complete calm, then Dagne, who he takes for the leader. He produces a 3000 galifar check for Inesa’s bounty, then asks about the other one. “Inesa found an accessory in Burnfrost, her name is Donata.” Dagne says. Begrudgingly, the commander flips a singular Soldarak platinum to Dagne for Donata. The guards lead the two prisoners off.

The Crimson Eyes, Crimson Hands adventure is done. The party takes 1 XP.

The party goes and cashes their check, then sets off to find a good bar. The Gold Dragon Inn is decent, but everyone is craving the good stuff after such a tense capture. Adonis approaches a place called The Bull and Anvil and walks inside, he then notices something strange with the interior doormat. He lifts the edge and finds a trapdoor. Curious, he opens it and finds a ladder. The party decides to head down. Beneath The Bull and Anvil is another bar, a sign inside it prominently displaying the name, The Hidden Hammer. A dwarf woman behind the counter eyes the party as they come down, then laughs at their confused expressions. “Come on it! We have a rule here! If you find this place by chance, you get one drink for free! Limited to our moderate priced drinks and cheaper, of course.”

The group approaches and orders. Dagne gets a nightwood ale, Vaeren orders the same as Dagne and then hands the drink over to them, intending on only partaking in tea, Syv gets a mix of rum, emberwheat ale, and horchata, Ro orders the same as Syv, and Adonis asks the barkeep to surprise him. She grins mischievously and produces an unmarked bottle, pouring a goopy red substance into a cup for him. When he drinks it, it wriggles and tries to escape his mouth, but he swallows the acidic, savory mass. The barkeep laughs uproariously and comments that it’s always a treat to watch people try Liquored Jelly. Intrigued, Dagne orders two Liquored Jellies, causing Vaeren to leave in disappointment and wait outside on the street.

The party finds a booth in the back, where Dagne will be able to face away from the rest of the patrons and drink without their face being visible. Adonis stands at the edge of the table and wanders off, finding two people who look exactly like him. They both laugh and revert back to natural form. He just stands in confusion, wondering what’s so funny. Eshi notices the encounter and realizes that the Grey Tide is in, reverting back to Syv as well. She then scans the room, looking for someone. She grins as she spots Captain Kalina Soria. Meanwhile, Dagne orders four shots from the barkeep, who comments “where’d you come across resistance to poison by the way? By all rights you should be out.” Dagne shrugs and says to her, “I’m just built different,” before returning to the booth.

Syv approaches Kalina, who’s gloating over the events of the day to her subordinates over a glass of rum, “I’m winning, I got paid 200 golden galifars for doing absolutely nothing.” Syv takes a seat beside her and asks, “wanna score again tonight?” “If you were a human I would’ve punched you in the face…” Kalina pauses for a moment and then begins a rant about how creepy single skins are. Syv agrees wholeheartedly, saying that they don’t even care for her true looks, only what she can turn into. With that, Kalina grins and reverts to true form, and Syv gasps, “woah, you are gorgeous.” “I don’t normally first face in public. I get too many suspicious glances. That’s not a problem in the Grey Tide though, you can wear any face you want without anyone getting in your business. It’s the best nation in the world,” Kalina shares. “I’m honored you showed me your face, it’s one that should be shown more often,” Syv replies. Kalina laughs, “only in the Grey Tide and Dragon Eyes,” then looks at Syv closer, “I have to return the compliment you gave me. Your first face is beautiful, as well as the form I’ve seen you choose.” “Want to explore our forms together?” Asks Syv. Kalina smirks, rests a hand on Syv’s thigh, and says, “alright. Do you have a room or should we go back to my ship?” The two agree to head back to the ship, and Kalina says to one of the subordinates at her table “Jax, you’re in charge. Make sure nobody gets alcohol poisoning,” before turning to Syv and shifting into the form of a male changeling, “I can also do a dude as well.”

As the two walk off, Adonis, watching this whole exchange, is just entirely confused. Dagne turns around and takes one of their shots, trying their best to ignore the twinge of jealousy. Ro grins, excited for her friend. Outside, Vaeren watches Syv and Kalina leave together, sipping their water and wondering what the heck happened while they weren’t there to watch the party.

With Syv gone, Ro and Dagne settle into a game of Five Crowns, gambling their crowns. Both perform incredibly well, but Ro manages to squeeze a narrow victory.

Eleventh of The Fatui Harbingers, Childe, who’s always eager for a challenge. This man holds his ground for being one of the most dangerous member of Snezhnaya’s Darker Side. Though in your eyes? He was your father, the man who always appears with a beaming smile along with his presence that is as warm as the sun. 

Out of all the boys, this man is well versed when it comes to taking care of children. After all, it’s a second nature he developed being part of a big family. 

With you, everyone doubts that he is a velvet sheath that houses an ostensibly ornamental blade whose unpredictability puts people on edge. Well, you are his child. No father would ever want their kin to see the darkside of their being.

He dotes you a lot, always ready to give you all the sweet pecks and hugs. Whenever you giggle out loud and grin happily, his heart melts into a puddle and he can’t help but just give you more and more.

However, although he is your father, he is still Childe- the Eleventh Of The Fatui Harbingers. He is bound by duty to serve his Lady Tsaritsa. He is a warrior who dedicates his faith to her. So he has to leave you behind with his siblings.

It aches him to the core, he wants to spend time with you- But he needs to go. Truth be told, Childe is always itching to have everything finished. He ends duties as fast as he could just so he can come home and spend his time with you more.

His return is always extravagant, a ship loaded with all sorts of toys and clothes- It’s all for you. It’s one of his ways to compensate for the seconds he wasnt able to spend with you. One time, he even bought a playhouse that was the size of an ordinary house except it was decorated like that of a duke’s palace. 

You think that’s all? I beg to differ, in fact, our dear Childe hasn’t even started with you yet!

He’ll spoil you with affection, showering your small body with so much fatherly love. Childe will also let you watch him cook your favourite meal (Bonus dessert too since he loves you so very much!)

“Daddy? What is it like in Liyue?” You tip your head as your father softly bounced you on his lap “Uncle Teucer said that the waters there dont freeze! Is it true?”

“Mhm, the climate there is very warm unlike here in Snezhnaya” Childe replies with a smile.

“What else is in there, daddy? Is there a flower garden there like the bedtime stories you tell me? Is there-is there a big green field too where little animals hop hop on?” Your eyes beamed so much curiousity it made the ginger chuckle in delight.

“Yup, there’s a lot of flowers scattered around in Liyue.”

“Take me there next time, please? Please! Pretty please, daddy? Wont you please?” You start whining.

“Mm, after daddy finishes work I’ll take you there, alright?” Childe storkes your head with his wam hand. 

“Awe...” You pouted.”But your work is always piling every second! It’s like bricks, it keeps going up and up and up!”

“Pfft, well I am after all working for the biggest toy company! Daddy needs to make sure everything is perfect!”

“Even Santa Claus doesnt work that much! Daddy is being mean...” You frown while the ginger man laughs at your comment. “Oh I know! How about I eat lots and lots of veggies then daddy will take me to Liyue? Please Daddy? Pleasee!!!”

“Oh dear..” He shakes his head. “Now I remember that time where your uncle Teucer first learned to bargain”

“Please daddy?” You put on your most adorable puppy eyes to add pressure on him. 

“Alright, alright” He chuckled and you cheered, jumping on his face and peppering it with chase pecks on his cheek. 

Childe’s heart felt so warm, he felt so relived to have you- his precious child, in his arms and peppering him with you tiny and soft pecks. This moment with you was so pure he forgot his hands are that of a warriors, that he is stained with darkness. It doesnt really matter, you dont need to know that side of him. He’s scared of you hating him, he’s scared of you losing your trust and admiration for him. Your loveforhim means the world to him. So please, just stay like this knowing only this him, stay clueless about that part of him stained by battle.

Alright, first of all- No doubt, you will be highly respected and loved in Monstadt since you are the precious child of the charming Chivalry Captain, Kaeya Alberich.

Since he is a knight, he is aware of the possible dangers that might/will come at your way so expect him to be highly protective (But not in a very obvious way ofc).

Sadly, he is a chivalry captain- There are times where he has to leave you to Amber, Lisa or Diluc (especially Diluc). It pains his heart though, time flies so fast and he is scared that he might one day come home to see you all grown up. No parent would want that, Kaeya is no exception.

Though, if you suprise him while he is on duty in guarding the gates- He’ll be more than very happy to have a little knight accompanying him. Kaeya will be even be amused since his ‘work’ wont be that awfully boring anymore.

When it comes to affection- Oh boy. He peppers your face with kisses, snuggles you in every second he can and whispers one of the most adorable things in your small ear. He sometimes teases you too with how tin you are, he cant help it really- You’re just so fragile and you barely even reach pass his knees. Kaeya also spoils you a lot. You want that aodrable little slime pillow? You’ll have all the elemental versions! It doesnt hurt to spend a little more after all. I mean come on, he spends money on drinking fancy wine, why not use that cash on spoiling you instead?

He’s also the type that’s lets you ride on his shoulders, maybe he’ll jog a bit so you can feel like you’re really flying.

Being a captain, he surely has times where he is strict on diciplining (But not strict-strict to the point it’s scary. Nope!) He’ll smile warmly and cooe you into obeying the rules. His rules aren’t really painful, it’s all very basic in fact. “ Ah, ah, ah, what did Daddy say about after eating?” “Y/n, it’s already time for night-night. You wouldn’t want the bad hilichurls to get you, do you now?”

Overall, he’s a very loving father who supports his child in every way he could. You are after all, the small warm flame that melts the icy cryo captain’s heart.

“Daddy! Daddy! Look!” You run over to your father who was boredly staring off into the distance. “Daddy!”

“Oh?” Kaeya smiles warmly, leaning down to your level and picking you up off of the ground. “What would my baby want to show?”

“I-I made Daddy a pretty flower crown! Auntie Amber showed me how to do it!” You stretch out your small arms to show him the Calla Lily flower crown you wholeheartedly made for him. “It’s pretty right? Right?”

“Mhm, it’s very pretty.” Kaeya chuckled lightly.

“Daddy I want to put it on your head! Pretty, pretty please?” Your eyes twinkled innocently, pleading with the most adorable look.

“How can I say no when my little angel when you’remaking that face?” He smiled, lifting you up above his head.

You gently fixed the flowr crown on his head and giggled in absolute delight as you saw your Father’s face with the crown atop his head.

“Daddy looks so handsome!” You clap cutely, making his heart melt even more.

Kaeya couldn’t resist it and he started to nuzzle your cheeks together.

He wanted to tease you a bit more, but this time,... He didnt feel like it. Kaeya just wanted to hold you as close as he possibly can. if he can freezetime, he will. He doesnt want this moments to end and just become a memory of the past you. He wanted to hold you as much as he can right now.

"Wait! Daddy we need to go to uncle Diluc too!" You blurt out.

"Why?" He blinked.

"I made a flower crown for Uncle too!"

"Hold on a second, I'm calling someone to cover for my shift."

@vinchenzoquassano Here’s my analysis on the juxtaposition of Han Seok and Vincenzo as brother figures to Han Seo! It got a bit long, so I’m putting it under a cut.

So we all know that Vincenzo and Han Seok are meant to contrast each other a lot, whether it’s fire imagery vs ice imagery, caring about family vs seeing family as a tool, or having everything under control vs being reckless and impulsive. And I think one of the things that really highlights the difference between Vincenzo and Han Seok in ways of thinking/treating others is the way they relate to Han Seo.

From the first interaction between the Jang brothers, we see that their relationship is based on threats, violence, and fear. It is not a sibling relationship, the only thing that connects them as siblings is the fact that they share the same dad. There are none of the usual characteristics of a healthy relationship between siblings, none of the fun, none of the support, no familial love, no empathy, concern, or worry. And their relationship most likely never resembled a proper siblinghood, as we know that Han Seok tormented Han Seo from a young age. Additionally, to begin with Han Seo is just ‘Han Seok’s brother, the puppet chairman’, the shadow of his brother even though ironically it’s Han Seok who remains in the shadows in the beginning. We only see him begin to shine as his own character when he starts to actively plan against Han Seok with the help of Mr Han, and this is only amplified when he starts to look up to Vincenzo.

This is why what Han Seo gets from Vincenzo is so important to him, even to the point of not betraying Vincenzo once Han Seok is out of the picture. It’s all there in that scene where they’re drinking together in episode 18. It’s poignant because the things Han Seo lists that he feels comfortable about with Vincenzo are all things that he’d had bad experiences with when they were with Han Seok. Both duos have scenes involving hockey, but in the SeokSeo scene Han Seo is very much in a lower position of power as he stands unprotected in a suit in contrast to Han Seok’s full hockey gear, getting hit by hockey pucks (we see this contrast again when Han Seo is the one wearing the hockey gear and hitting pucks at executives in suits, more on that later). It’s their first scene together, and it’s a pretty good image of their relationship. Han Seok has always had the high ground, and Han Seo has always felt vulnerable and unprotected from his volatile nature. 

In contrast, in the VincenSeo hockey scene both of them are wearing hockey gear, albeit without the helmets. This already shows that at the fundamental level this is a very different relationship, despite there still being a power imbalance. And the absence of the protection of a helmet also implies a level of trust, again in contrast to the way Han Seok had one, both to hide his identity but also to symbolize further distance. We see that Han Seo is at ease to the point where he feels comfortable enough to tease Vincenzo about Cha Young, and make quips/casual comments. Vincenzo is only mildly annoyed, and the atmosphere is far less charged than in the SeokSeo hockey scene. Most notably, even though Vincenzo does hit a puck at Han Seo, does trip him up, and does get annoyed at him, none of it carries the venom it does when Han Seok does it. It’s almost playful, it feels like something real siblings would do together (speaking from experience here), and Vincenzo is never hostile towards Han Seo. When Han Seok does things like that it doesn’t feel like sibling bickering, it feels like abuse. There is real malice in the way Han Seok treats Han Seo in general, and the hockey scene is no exception. So for Han Seo to be able to be in a space which he has always associated with pain/punishment and find himself at ease, not feeling threatened or worried, it must have meant a lot (which we see in the way he cant stop smiling after the hockey scene), and further serves to illustrate the difference in Han Seok and Vincenzo’s behaviour, right down to Vincenzo catching Han Seo when he falls, and Han Seo’s heartfelt thanks to him for helping him see how stupid he’d been.

It’s the same with all the other things he mentioned in the drinking scene. Eating scenes always say something about relationships in this drama (and in kdramas in general actually, but especially so here), and whenever we see Han Seo and Han Seok eating together, it always feels like Han Seo has to walk on eggshells, he can never relax or let his guard down, because he has to worry about Han Seok’s potential outbursts. Like in the scene where Han Seok flips the table and forces Han Seo to hold a knife to his neck, or the scene where they drink together after paying respects to their father. That scene was notable because it’s the scene where we find out that Han Seok killed their father. Han Seo asks Han Seok outright if he’d kill him off too if he got in his way. It’s one of the few times early on that he lets his perceptiveness show in front of Han Seok. Han Seok’s response is not reassuring at all, and he even goes as far as to belittle Han Seo's intelligence, stating that if he was just a little smarter he would have been nicer to him. This is again contrasted by Vincenzo encouraging Han Seo to learn more, and telling him that the mind is one's greatest weapon.

Han Seok's response also makes Vincenzo finally replying that he won’t kill Han Seo because he believes he’s changing for the better all the more impactful. With Han Seok it was always he won’t kill me so long as I am of use, because he needs me to take the fall for him, but with Vincenzo it’s now he won’t kill me because he sees value in me as a person and not a tool. We see this in how Vincenzo gives Han Seo advice, and complements him, albeit in a very roundabout way. I think despite his generally neutral face during their interactions, Han Seo is definitely growing on him. It’s even to the point that he allowed Han Seo to call him hyung, and even beyond that, to see him as a brother. I definitely think both of them need more time to grow as people and learn to relate to each other before this can actually be a proper brotherhood, but you have to start somewhere.

For the first time Han Seo is in an environment where he can let his guard down and confide in someone who is both a role model and a friend to him, even if that person is Vincenzo ‘i can’t ever show my emotional investment’ Cassano (though he has really come a long way since the beginning of the drama). Vincenzo represents all the things Han Seok never did for Han Seo as a brother, whether it’s giving him advice or letting him treat him with familiarity. Which is also an important contrast, that Han Seo calls Vincenzo Vin-hyung from the get go, while he mostly calls Han Seok hyungnim. The fact that Han Seo felt comfortable enough to ask Vincenzo if he could call him like a brother, sulk about it when he said no (”Ok Vincenzo Cassano nim” lol, no one can convince me that Han Seo isn’t a sass master), and then go directly to abbreviating Vincenzo’s name (Vin hyung) really tells us a lot about how much more comfortable he is with Vincenzo. 

It is also worth noting that even though Vincenzo is often snarky with Han Seo, their interactions still carry some level of comfort that is completely absent in Han Seok and Han Seo’s scenes, despite the fact that when Han Seok is not being violent he actually treats Han Seo normally (well as ‘normal’ as it can get for them), like when he gives him the watch, when Han Seo is watching him get his hair cut, or when they go hunting. But despite the veneer of that normalcy, their interactions always carry an undercurrent of danger, as we and Han Seo all know that anything could cause Han Seok to explode, like he did in the scene where they were eating together, quite suddenly and very aggressively. That underlying tension is always there, even when Han Seo is seemingly smiling and reacting well to Han Seok, because we know that Han Seok is only tolerating Han Seo because he is of use to him, and will not hesitate to hurt him if he annoys him, or get rid off him should he cross him or cease to be of use. Whereas with Vincenzo, Han Seo is at ease. There is no hidden danger, no fear of an outburst. Vincenzo is someone Han Seo looks up to and feels he can trust enough to go behind Babel team’s backs to collude with. This also highlights once again the way that even Vincenzo's emotionally limited treatment of others contrasts Han Seok's complete disregard for them. He never yells at Han Seo or belittles him in a cruel way, and increasingly their interactions are more casual. Though he's still a bit closed off, Vincenzo also listens to what Han Seo has to say, unlike with Han Seok, where Han Seo can never say what he really thinks.

Lastly, there’s the influence that both Han Seok and Vincenzo have on the way Han Seo behaves. We see that whether he realized it or not, Han Seo imitated and was influenced by some of Han Seok’s behaviour, from hitting hockey pucks at executives (and bullying the executives in general, most likely to feel more powerful), to throwing tantrums/having fits of anger and yelling, ordering a hit on Vincenzo and Cha Young and finding the Babel victims’ information. Likewise, we see that once he decides he’s jumping off that train and siding with Vincenzo, we gradually begin to see his behaviour change. He’s always had a playful/bratty streak, seen in how he was so happy about dodging the thing Han Seok threw at him that one time, in many of his interactions with Mr Han, and in the scene when he comes to Jipuragi in 80s clothes to show off his battle scar. That side of him still manages to appear even around Han Seok, so when he’s around Vincenzo and he doesn’t have to focus on avoiding Han Seok’s outbursts it comes out fully, and we get things like him distracting Vincenzo by calling out Cha Young’s name to score a goal, grinning like a little kid when Vincenzo chased him, and his joy at getting to call Vincenzo Vin hyung.

Additionally, we see that the more closely Han Seo works with Vincenzo, the more brazen he gets around Han Seok. He gets more flippant, and he almost openly praises Vincenzo, he becomes less obedient to Han Seok. All this culminates in the scene where he confronts Han Seok about the Elizabeth Holmes thing and tightens his handcuffs. By finding a role model in Vincenzo, as well as knowing he has the support of someone more powerful than Han Seok, Han Seo was able to finally cut off the puppet strings. We even see that he consulted with and listened to the board/company executives, contrasted to how he’d forced them to eat spicy food and hit hockey pucks at them before. He’s unlearning the volatile and violent behaviour he picked up from Han Seok and applying the advice that Vincenzo gave him, namely that your brain is your greatest weapon. Han Seok always seemed like a dangerous villain because of his violent tendencies and his position of power and influence, but we’ve seen how Vincenzo manages to corner him again and again, and how his irrational actions (coughcoughkillingmrsohcoughcough) are no match for Vincenzo’s strategic thinking. Han Seo sees this as well, and he begins to emulate Vincenzo’s behaviour.

Vincenzo is right that Han Seo is changing for the better, and he is most likely the catalyst for it. We see that from the get go Han Seo is determined to break free, and in the end what gets him there while making sure he doesn’t simply become an ineffective chairman or Han Seok II (with arguably less murder lol) is the appearance of Vincenzo as a reliable brother figure. Now whether or not Vincenzo is actually a good brother figure is a different debate, and I do think he also needs to develop in the area of relating to others before he can truly fulfill the role. Still, so far his influence on Han Seo has been largely positive, and I think given time Han Seo will probably also have a positive effect on him.

In conclusion, if they kill off Han Seo in the end it will be my villain origin story. Thanks for reading! Do share any thoughts/additions!

Mal and Ben: The problems on D2

I haven't seen anyone talk about this closely so I'm bringing it up.

Why on earth does D2 frame Mal as the victim when Uma shows up at cotillion when like... Ben has every right to invite another girl.

I mean, the love spell aside. If he really invited Uma to cotillion why is Mal fucking crying and being "ohh poor her, she is so upset". What is she upset about?? Why is she and everyone else acting like Ben cheat on her??

Did you all forget she abandoned him after ONE discussion in which, by the way, she tried to spell Ben? And then broke up with him and made it very clear she wanted that and it was the best for everyone.

Let's take a close look at this. I´ll try to keep my mind open. Hold yourselves guys, this may be a little long. 

Ben and Mal's relationship seems... Problematic at the beginning of D2. They have a communication issue, Ben is busy and stressed but he never shows it to Mal, he always wants to be the perfect prince for her. Mal is constantly lying to him and hiding things from him, changing herself to "fit" with what she thinks Ben wants.

Is clear that Mal has many trusting and self-esteem problems (I think some therapy would do her good). Also, she has a problem with the use of magic, it has become a bad habit, and no matter what everyone says to her, she ignores them and victimizes herself. Her behavior is even a little self-destructive, and towards Ben, is really toxic. 

Ben is seen trying his best to make her feel comfortable, and yes, him being busy all the time and not very open to her either doesn't help Mal's problems. But here is the thing, the movie, constantly frames their situation as it was only Ben's job to make an effort, but is it really? I feel like the movie wants us to think Ben should have known what Mal was feeling, that he should have been there paying her attention.

And I don't think that's fair. He is still a teenager, and not an ordinary one, he already has a whole kingdom on his hands, an entire nation that depends on him. His duty is with Auradon first. And still, he tries his best to spend time with Mal, to visit her between classes, to be available to her. And even if his only occupation was being Mal's boyfriend, I believe is unfair to expect him to just know what Mal feels. 

People who had emotionally unavailable parents growing up, people inexperienced in healthy communication, people under a lot of stress, people with depression, people with PTSD, with ADHD, neurodivergent people, even people who had a bad day, or is sleepy, all these people are many times unable to understand indirect signals from people around them, that doesn't make them bad people, or bad parents, bad siblings, bad partners. 

That is why good communication is so important in a relationship. We cant expect Ben to just know, when Mal has been lying to him for weeks, and possibly (we´ll get to that) spelling him to not remember.

This is when we get to their first fight... and oh boy. 

They are sharing a nice moment, Ben even mentions that he misses spending time with her. He compliments her for making all that food. And then he finds the spellbook, and he is not even angry. He is disappointed because he didn't just find out she used magic to make the picnic, he just finds out she has been lying to him for gods know how long. 

And then... Mal tries to spell him. 

I cannot express enough how wrong that was. How messed up that was. This not only shows us how Mal is unable to take responsibility and face any kind of consequence for her actions, but this also shows truly abusive behavior towards Ben. She is erasing his memories and only leaving the ones she wants him to remember, that is manipulation, which is basically magical gaslighting. 

Imagine if Ben after that fight decided he didn't want to date Mal anymore, but now he can't, because she erased his memories, she went against his wishes and left him unable to walk away from her. It removes his free will and is a violation of his freedom. It's very worrying that she knew that spell by memory and didn't even think before start casting it the second Ben showed any emotion aside of the “happy nice boyfriend” she wants. 

It's still debatable whether Mal had spell him before in similar situations or not because we don't have enough information to confirm it. But the isolated incident is very abusive on its own, even if she never actually spell him. 

And what makes it worst is that she doesn't apologize, the next thing she says is “Ben, it's been so hard for me”. She is taking the blame out of her again, justifying her actions. And I think that is one of the worst parts, she doesn't think what she did is wrong, she thinks she had to do it. 

This is when we get to Ben very rightfully being angry for the first time in the movies. Let me make it clear: He says for the first time what he really feels and it turns against him. Mal then finally tells him why she did all that and admits that she has been faking it all, again, without taking any guilt on this whole situation. 

Ben tries to keep talking about the matter but Mal refuses. Then she runs away because she “Doesn't belong there”. She doesn't tell Ben, doesn't even bother breaking up with him, she just leaves. And we once again see Ben excusing Mal's abusive behavior.

When Evie goes to tell Ben that Mal went back to the Island he is the one who assumes all the blame, saying it was all his fault, that he should have been more understanding of her, and he acted “like a beast”. Now, here is our prove that Ben is also dealing with some serious self-esteem problems, he doesn't express his feelings, and the first time he does, he thinks he wasn't entitled to feel them, he feels he was ”a beast” just because he showed anger. He doesn't know how to show his emotions in a healthy way. 

The way Ben feels like he was to be perfect and the “ideal good person” all the time really worries me. Is like he is afraid all the time to hurt the feelings of others. And the way he specifically uses the word Beast as something negative that he doesn't want to be, and the way he backs in fear when his father loses his temper in the first movie, really makes you think about the way he was raised. 

Many people have pointed out that Ben and his family show signs of domestic violence and I couldn't agree more. Is very telling the way he excuses everything Mal does and bearly disagrees with her. We have seen how his father gaslights him, and if he is used to that type of treatment, of course, he cant see how wrong it is what Mal does.

Despite Mal giving up on their relationship, Ben still tries to talk to her, putting himself in danger (yes, as King is very dangerous for him to go to the isle without protection) to work out their problems and apologize to Mal. The first thing he says is “I'm so sorry about our fight, it was all my fault” He takes full responsibility for the discussion, no question asked. 

When Mal says she doesn't think she can change, Ben says that then he is the one who will change. I think it speaks for itself, Mal isn't willing to bend her agenda for him, but he is.

Mal refuses to come back, refuses to try to solve their problems no once, but at least three times during this conversation. Just to end it with Ben asking if she loves him, and she doesn't answer, she instead says this is what is best for everyone and asks Ben to go three times.

So big shock, he does. 

He gets the message, and he decides to come back to Auradon, where, by the way, he is needed. And he gets kidnaped and then Mal has to rescue him. When they meet again after, coming back to Auradon in the car, Ben apologizes AGAIN because “things didn't go the way Mal wanted” like, this is getting ridiculous, what is he apologizing for this time??

So, let's see. Mal lies to him for weeks, when she gets caught she tries to spell Ben and doesn't take any responsibility, abandons him and then repeatedly tells him that she wants to end things and that she is not willing to try to resolve things. 

So Ben accepts, and when he decides to bring another girl to cotillion Mal is suddenly surprised, and hurt, and upset???

Like, does she want him to move on or not? Is not even like she is worried about him going out with Uma, someone who captures him, she is upset because HOW DOES HE DARE GO BACK TO THE ISLE TO GET SOMEONE HE CARES ABOUT (You didn't care when you were the one he went to get hhum Mal?).

It pains me how much Mal can't stand to look at Ben being happy with someone. The whole damn movie she told him to stay away, she told him that she wanted what was best for him. So why now, in front of everyone, SHE is the one playing victim? Why is she acting like Ben is the one who broke her heart, the one who gave up on her??

She broke up with him, she abandoned him, she refused to talk to him, she told him to get away, and NOW she wants him to be understanding and forgiving??

And when the fucking painted glass shit is revealed she realizes he loved the real her?? Because he put her green eyes and purple hair on a painting? Not because he put his life in danger for her, not because he told her he was willing to change for her?

She wants him to love her “as she really is”. Why doesn't SHE love him like he really is?? She walked away from him the second he wasn't perfect, but she can make all the mistakes in the world and should just... be forgiven?

No, sorry, I´m not buying that. And I certainly don't want them to marry.
