Didn't really know what to do for this prompt, so I decided to draw Lila's reaction to my Ladybug redesign (which is still a work in progress)

I need Ladybug to be a little bug freak or I think I may die, bc what if instead of miraculous ladybug it was miraculous freakybug, and instead of serving paris she just served. Also she's taller than Lila in her ladybug form bc I said so <3

Do you have tips how to designe akuma OCs, please?🥹🦋

I can try! A good place to start would of course be what upset the character and caused the akumatization, because that will influence the design direction.

I’ll use an ancient akuma I designed back in 2019 based off me as an example lol (you can tell the arts old since it’s on paper lol)

It’s not the best but it’ll work for this lol, so the main motif is the cracking all across the body, the concept was based around this medical condition I have that causes uncontrollable upper body spasms. It’s not quite as bad now but at the time I couldn’t go more then five minutes without shaking and I routinely had to miss school and other events and it was very disruptive. So I figured that would definitely be cause for akumatization lol. The power that went along with it was that she could chanel the shaking to cause earthquakes, with the cracking across her body lessening the more earthquakes she caused.

If I were to revamp it I’d use a more inhuman skin colour like a bright pink to contrast the blue hair. Akumas always have very bright colours in their designs, and the more the merrier! Think Bubbler, Reflekta, Horrificator, they all have very saturated colour pallets and easily identifiable silhouettes.

So yeah lol the main things would be bright colour palette, distinct silhouette, and elements of the power worked into the design

summary: you and arthur have been dating for a few months and he comes over to meet your family for the first time.

“Are you sure this is fine?” Arthur asked again looking over at you from the drivers seat. A little laugh left your mouth nodding reassuringly.

Arthur held a bouquet of colourful flowers in one hand and bottle of wine in the other, you could tell he was nervous from the way his gnawed on his cheek.

Your hand grazed his knee softly, “I promise, they’re going to love you.”

Arthur nodded gulping down, “I’m ready.” He stated, opening his car door and dashing around to open yours as you gathered your handbag.

“We’ll get the bags later?”

You nodded linking your arm with him and he smiled down at you adoringly, “Tu es belle.” He complimented pecking her hairline gently.

“So are you.” You smiled.

You both walked to the front door and you pushed it open, “Hello!” You called out to your family and quickly got bombarded by hugs.

“Hello,” You laughed, kneeling down greeting your nieces and sister, “have you missed me?”

Arthur watched as you sat down with the babies letting the babble at you for a while before the oldest of the three pointed him, “Is he your boyfriend?”

You nodded, holding your hand to bring him to the floor with you, “this is Arthur.” You introduced your boyfriend to the girls.

Your baby sister blushed hiding behind you making you chuckle and your nieces hugged onto him, “what’s wrong, Lila?” You asked, scooping your sister up.

“He’s big.” The 4 year old whispered into your ear, “he’s scary.”

“Arthur’s not scary, he brought you presents.” You said excitedly.

The exhausted sighs of your mother became audible as she walked to the front door, “Hello sweetheart.” She smiled, opening her arms and you gladly let her engulf you, “Your fathers had to run to the store because he burnt the chicken.”

Arthur stood up awkwardly behind you, your nieces still clinging to his neck as he held them in his arms.

Your mother turned to the boy, “Arthur! It’s so nice to meet you in person finally!” She greeted, looking at the twins gripping onto him, “Sorry about them.”

“It’s okay, honestly.” He chuckled, letting your mother take the girls from his arms.

“I would hug but I’m covered in flour and I don’t want to mess up that lovely shirt.”

You tilted your head looking at your mother, “But you’re allowed to mess up mine.” You pressed your lips together wiping the mess off your dress.

“Yeah, well you aren’t a guest.”

Arthur chuckled at the comment before feeling a little hand pulling on his pants carefully. He looked down seeing your baby sister, holding out her hand and he took it letting her pull him away.

“You gonna take Arthur to meet Gabi?” You asked the toddler, who shook her head, “Where you taking him then Lilabug?”

“See my teddies.”

A smile broke out on your face as you nodded, “Oh, okay. You take good care of him, he’s a bit shy.”

“Okay.”

You smiled softly watching as Arthur followed your youngest sister like a lost puppy. Your mother grabbed your hand pulling you to the kitchen, where your older sister was sitting sipping her wine, “Oh yay, my favourite babysitter is here!” Gabi laughed flinging her arms up.

You hummed giving a sarcastic smile, “Ha, you’re funny.”

Gabi offered you a glass of wine which you took from her, “Where’s your boyfriend?” She asked, looking around for the driver.

“Lila has stolen him.”

“Oh really?” Gabi asked in shock, “She usually hates strangers.”

“Yeah, she wasn’t sure at first but now she’s introducing her teddies.”

The twins crawled into the kitchen followed by your brother-in-law and your father, who was holding a brand new chicken.

“Hey dad.” You gleamed, raising to your feet to hug your father, “How’ve you been?”

“Busy, busy.” Your father tutted, bear hugging you swaying softly, “We’ve missed you being home, you should visit more often.”

“I try my best but it’s hard with my work and Arthur’s work.” You explained for what felt like the thousandth time.

Your father pulled away placing his hand on the top of your head smiling at you sweetly, “I know, I know but I need someone to be in my corner because your mother and sister enjoy ganging up on me.”

You chuckled looking over at your mother, who was shaking her head in disbelief, “Stop turning our daughter against me.”

“I’m sorry amore mio but you’ve already turned that one against me.” Your father shrugged, kissing your mother’s forehead before looking around noticing someone missing, “Where is Arthur?”

“He’s with the baby.” Your mother answered, looking up at her husband who was visibly shocked.

You nodded, placing your wine glass on the table, “I’ll go find them.”

You wandered through your family home looking for your boyfriend and baby sister in all of Lila’s favourite places. Your face lit up when you spotted the duo in Lila’s room in her reading area, “You said I was supposed to throw it” you heard Arthur read aloud.

“He is my favourite.” Lila told him, pointing at the picture on the book.

“Paddington?” Arthur asked, looking at the toddler who was curled into his side sucking her thumb, “he’s your sisters favourite too.”

Lila nodded, “he wear a coat and a hat.”

“He does, what colour are they?”

Your heart melted at the interaction between the pair. Rather than interrupting them, you stood leaning against the door frame letting them continue their activity before Arthur glanced up, “Hello, mon soleil.” He smiled as his eyes glistened.

“Hi.” You smiled back, making your way to sit next to them, “what are we reading?”

“Paddington!” Lila beamed, grabbing the book from Arthur as she climbed in between the couple, “I like him.” She whispered in her sisters ear.

“You like Arthur?” You asked in the same hushed tone, and Lila nodded, “I like Arthur too.”

“He can stay in our house.”

“Good I’m glad.”

I actually meant to ask about the one where Lila gets the Ladybug Miraculous, I wanted to save the serial killer for tomorrow... And I added a "future" for some reason, causing confusion.

Well then, I'll ask about the Lilabug & Marinette AU now.

Oh sorry, sorry! I thought you asked abt the serial killer Au! My bad! So, the Lilabug Au! Basically it's what it says on the tin! Lila arrives in Paris early, and Fu comes across her while searching for compatible Miraculous Holders. The reason why he senses her is because Lila would be an excellent Fox, but Fu can't tell specifically which Miraculous she has affinity with. So he pulls his scheme with Truck-Kun, and Lila saves his life. Because you know, there's people recording the damn incident and she wants fame!

Also, Lila is extremely (read: canon levels) cynical in this Au, and generally abhorbs being around other human beings. Sure, she'll play the happy-go-lucky new girl from Italy and smile sweetly at people all day, but she secretly hates every second of it. Anyway, Lila will later find a pair of magic earrings in her bag because she wanted to go viral. Is this Fu Bashing for picking that testing method out of every option? Sure. Will I salt the man? Nah, we have yuri to write!

Anyway, the rest of Origins goes normally, except Lila is also there, sweet-talking her way into sitting at the back of the class and away from all these weirdos. This will be important later. Anyway, Chloe bla blas about Adrien, gum on the seat, etc. Then Stoneheart happens, which also paints a big target on Marinette's back as the local goody-two-shoes! Lila doesn't plan to bully her though, no no. Being her friend is the better option, because she doesn't think Marinette will have the spine to accuse her of lying then. Totally not for the free bakery sweets!

Anyway, Stoneheart! Paris' resident furry is right on cue, and Lila gets an unwanted moral compass in the form of adorable Eldritch Deity! Tikki absolutely hates her btw, since Lila doesn't create anything of her own except lies. Still, they have a city to save and once our beloved Kwami pulls out the "people will love you if you save them" card, Lila's sold! Say less, she's already suiting up!

I'm giving her a more stylish outfit too, think black boots and gloves, as well as actual linings to separate different parts of the suit with some inverted coloring on the sides. Because Lila Rossi is nothing if not fashionable! Anyway, a cat boy falls out of the sky while she's learning how to rip off Spider-Man! One introduction later, Lila sticks with the name Ladybug because why the hell not? She'd have gone with the Italian word, but that's a dead giveaway. Generic means less clues to her identity.

Now, she puts on a great show for the cameras! If Chat hadn't heard her mutter insults about everyone not running for their lives, he'd be impressed! Alya gets saved from that overdramatic car flip, Ladyblog becomes a thing later, and Stoneheart gets absolutely destroyed because Lila is just as smart as Marinette! A bit more straightforward and "I'm going to rip you yo pieces with a spoon if need be"...but very intelligent! Chloe gets saved, Lila feels the urge to psychologically damage her someday soon, and she and Chat find a second to talk after the whole "as long as we're here Hawkmoth can't get you" speech.

Reminder that Adrien has been surrounded by actors and performers his whole life, so he sniffs out Lila's true intentions instantly. Still, she isn't immediately hostile to him. They talk, and decide that since they're the superheroes now, and Paris needs saving from a mentally ill mothman with a midlife crisis, they'll work together. Chat warns her that he won't let her abuse her Miraculous' powers, and Lila promises she isn't going to. Ladybug's reputation as this city's only hope needs to remean clean, after all!

The rest of Origins happens the same, umbrella scene included, and Fu is very proud of himself for making such good choices! Lila also decides to befriend Alya because a blog dedicated to Ladybug is 1) a great publicity stunt she will gladly abuse, and 2) this idiot needs to be kept in check, lest Alya accidentally connects the dots some day. Therefore, we now have the Core 5, consisting of Marinette (reluctant friends with Lila), Adrien (empathetic to the other new kids and thinking her confidence is cool), Nino (music provider), Alya (unhinged conspiracy theorist), and Lila (local lying machine). What a wonderful group of dumbasses! I'm sure everything will be fine!

Most of Season 1 stays the same, with Chat and Ladybug coming to an understanding that the other isn't actually so bad, and Lila secretly liking his stupid puns. No romance for obvious reasons, but Chat is why she slowly starts to open up a bit more in her civilian life. Lila still doesn't care about these people, but Chloe annoys her and Marinette is useful either as a distraction or a help when it comes to getting back at the Queen B. Plus Alya's incresingly ridiculous theories are generating so much popularity for Ladybug that the least Lila can do is listen to the yapping once in a while. She'd still kick them off a cliff just to "save" them for clicks, but her "friends" are at least not on the target list.

Actually, Lila doesn't really try to maliciously manipulate almost anyone here, because she's taken a different approach. The people in her class inexicably seem to have connections with famous artists, chiefs and whatnot, so keeping up the innocent facade is working better for Lila than herding them around like sheep! At this rate, one of these drains on her social battery might prove to be Jagged Stone's secret love child or something! She wants to be in people's good graces!

Due to all of this, her lies are kept relatively minimal and somewhat provable. Besides, most of her deception skills are busy keeping both Ladybug's identity a secret, and the heroic, dauntless persona up for the cameras. Many Akuma are roundhouse-kicked, uppercutted, and defenestrated, but Paris still loves Ladybug (and Chat Noir)! Surprisingly, Lila is actually willing to give him credit where it's due, since she thinks he operates similar to her, with how Adrien poses for the cameras and shoots out witty puns. Just that Chat has a Morality Stick somewhere behind his tail.

Things stay relatively the same until Evillustrator, where Lila's lack of understanding about so-called "normal people" puts her in a Situation. Chloe still exposes Nath's drawings of Marinette, and Lila cannot for the life of her understand the concept of a crush. Physical attraction, she gets. Attraction to someone's status or wealth? Of course! Heck, the free things Adrien usually treats their friend group over are half the reason she's nice to him! Social obligations regarding politeness? Completely comprehendable. But a crush? It just doesn't compute.

An Akuma gets yeeted out of Gabriel's attic, Nathaniel gets butterflied, yada yada. When Ladybug goes to check on Chloe however...the blonde is overjoyed to have her idol visiting her! Lila takes this opportunity to shake some rust off her insults for a bit, and spends the entire time "recipricating" the excitment, with backhanded compliments to boot. Chloe...feels very weird about the experience afterwards, and doesn't understand why. Lila is very proud of herself, and gets yelled at by Tikki later.

Meanwhile, Marinette is actually there when Sabrina shows up and they begin doing the project thing together. Until Evillustrator shows up. Sabrina is terrified, but Marinette's like "Oh, you want to go on a date with me? Yeah sure, let me just change into a better outfit." Nathaniel is overjoyed, and Marinette takes that time to actually wear something nice, and also tell Sabrina to get the heroes ASAP! To her credit, she does so very quickly, and totes not because Chat Noir was looking for Marinette specifically.

Anyway, the boat ride is still the same. Marinette actually notices Hawkmoth hurting Nathaniel, deducing it might be possible to get him to reject the Akumatization somehow, and keeps him busy with a surprisingly enjoyable evening, all things considered. Chat calls in Ladybug, who tells him to stealth after them and wait until she gets there, dumps Chloe, and heads over there. Lila yoyos Nathaniel's sketchbook away, tossing it into he river, trips him and breaks the pen, undoing the damage, etc. It's important to note that since Sabrina was already there with Marinette before, Adrien didn't get to do his "cool introduction" as Chat.

Anyway, Marinette tells them what she noticed about the Akumatizations, and Lila keeps it in mind. After all, if there's one person in Paris who can psychoanalyze people so badly their mental health would improve, it's Lila Rossi! Ladybug dips to go recharge, and Chat starts fawning over how amazing Marinette was. To the girl in question. Adrien is a dork and I love him for it.

He also rants about Marinette to Ladybug, and Lila makes up her mind to pay her a visit as Paris' friendly neighbourhood superheroine. For now, Chat gives her a ride home, and the next day, Adrien has miraculously "heard about" what happened last night. This tips Lila off to his identity, but she decides to figure it out later. Surprisingly, Nathaniel is sitting in the back with her today, and Lila takes that chance to try and understand yesterday's debacle.

They strike up some conversation, and Lila slowly thinks about what Nathaniel is saying. She doesn't feel any of the things he describes to her, but she kind of gets it, if as a abstract concept. Now, Lila still doesn't really care about people, but decides to keep talking to Nathaniel since abruptly going quiet after asking so many pointed questions would be weird. The result? He ends their chat by exclaiming that he's not sure why she's being nice to him, but that's it's nice to have a friend. Lila is so stunned by the idea of friendship, she doesn't manage to correct him in time. She officially has her first friend, and no idea what to do about it. Tikki is laughing at her misery.

A lot more things happen in this Au, like the Collector tipping Lila off regarding Gabriel (which she doesn't share with Chat since he might be Adrien, and while his reaction would be telling, it's too much of a risk), and meeting Fu for the first time since Tikki doesn't get sick in Princess Frangrace here. Needless to say, Lila is very tempted to steal that box full of magical jewels! She behaves, but does slowly begin to loan them out through Season 2. Marinette gets the fox on Sapotis, because Lila would sooner reveal her identity to Hawkmoth than trust Alya of all people to be a responsible superhero.

She and Marinette have been bonding a bit (over their mutual dislike of Gabriel), and Lila is slowly learning how to make friends as herself, while resisting the urge to slingshot stupid civilians off a building with her yoyo. She specifically hates Mr Ramier for getting Akumatized so many times, and repeatedly calls Hawkmoth a tasteless, unoriginal failure of a villain. Gabriel takes extreme offense to this.

Anyway, I'm going to stop here for now because I've been typing for a bit too long. You or anyone else is free to send me questions any time, and thanks a bunch for the ask martiya! Marinette is getting her superhero romance with this one, and ends up being the only person aside from Chat that Lila feels safe to be bitchy and snarky with as Ladybug. Ahh, toxic yuri my beloved! Marinette can totally fix her btw.

So, we have learned that kwamies are multiversal, so if you stick to cannon, Lila's Tikki is the same as Marinette's ... Which would mean she knows that Lila... Or rather will...

1. Wich leads to the first question, will you adress or if not, could you tell us how come that Lila is by the school? You draw Aurora there, so it suppose to be the Françoise Dupont, right? Yet she only appeared at the end of S1...

2. I would wonder how well Tikki know her, so, how do you imagine, how common is "Lilabug" in the Multiverse? Most AU we saw Marinette had the Ladybug Miraculous... so is it unique because Bunnyx recomanded her, maybe has a few variants, or just as common as anybody getting the Miraculous in the multiverse would be?

3. On the topic of Bunnyx; 3.1. is she the same Bunnyx as the seria? Asking, since she have been using the Rooster Miraculous, so she could be from elsewhere? 3.2. Did she recomended the girls, because she saw they do not cause trouble/cause the least or because she did not found any au where this was the combo, and other universes had their share of trouble...(So by the rule of elimination😅)

2. I don’t know, lol. I imagine it wouldn’t be a very common occurrence. I think there are alternate universes out there where Lila is a good guy tho- so maybe they have hero versions of Lila.

3. Nope- she’s a different Bunnyx. She’s the Bunnyx from this universe.

3.2. That is a question that will be addressed in the comic (far in the future, but still addressed).

Glamour Trio: Lilabug was on duty when Ikari Gozen happened.

She couldn't resist calling Tomoe out on the fact swords were a SECONDARY weapon for the Samurai (depending on the period they were primarily mounted archers or spear-armed shock cavalry) and the women of their caste favored the naginata (a polearm similar to the European fauchard) and provide sources. Then the Akuma was shocked by Ryuko, angry at having been basically lied to by her overly controlling mother.

Lilabug AU:

Instead of calling Lila out in Volpina, Marinette plays along, and tries to wind Lila up to see just how far she's willing to go to sell the lie. The answer is pretty far. Now Ladybug has a girlfriend.

"You know, you could have just let this all go months ago."

Ladybug sat perched on a thin security railing four stories up. Only miraculous balance kept her in place. She leaned on the window's frame, looking through the mesh screen into the dimly lit room beyond.

The quiet sound of busyness answered her first. The girl in the room was rarely still for more than two seconds. It was just one more way Ladybug saw her as a kindred spirit these days.

A real answer drifted back out, "You could have outed me at any time too."

Ladybug let her head rest against the mesh. The girl inside was barely an outline, a small shadowy thing with chin up and arms held rigidly by the sides; waiting for the executioner's axe.

"I could have. I thought about it. Maybe I should have, when it all started. Now though," she pressed one hand flat against the screen, "It's not all lies anymore, is it?"

Collapse, defeat, ruin, all the things Ladybug had thought to visit upon the girl out of righteous indignation when this had all begun. Now they finally came. Wounds made not by anger, but by tenderness. The girl's chin dropped, her shoulders fell. She rushed forward out of the dark and into the moonlight, pressing her palm to Ladybug's through the barrier.

"No. For all my efforts, no, not anymore. Who knew, I could lose by winning?"

Ladybug slid her hand over the screen, fingertips against the other girl's palm. "I think it's the other way around, isn't it? By losing, you've won, Lila."

Lila's head snapped up, hope shining past fear in her hazel eyes. Hope turned to a hard conviction. Conviction was something Ladybug knew Lila had in spades, it was another thing that joined them. Yet here, in this moment, it seemed almost frightening in its intensity. Conviction wavered for a breath. Lila stepped back and raised her hands to her head. "You, Ladybug," her fingers curled in her hair and pulled, revealing the truth beneath. "Can call me Cerise."

Well.. As I've said before, Civilian and Superhero relationships just don't do well and are completely dangerous.

While I don't disagree with your criticism, I feel it isn't taking into account that Marinette's anger toward Paris in the story is portrayed as "understandable but bad" since this fic is a deconstruction/playing Saltinette for horror, as the point is that Marinette blaming the citizens is meant to show that she (or at least the version of her pre-giving up guardianship) has gone off the deep end. Like her letters had her blaming people for getting Akumatized over the smallest things, even when the reasons were understandable/not their full fault (like Kagami and her parents). While the fic is sympathetic to what pushed her to this point, it also makes itself pretty clear that she's obvious not being rational in her anger nor should be considered such.

(Got a little rambling after this point)

And even then, the story also explains that the issue wasn't that the citizens (understandably) relied on her; it's that she felt they took her presence as Ladybug and her powers for granted, and as such refused to make actionable changes that would have eased the burden because, well - why would they need to? So long as Maribug has the Miracle Cure, anything bad that happens (either because of Hawkmoth or their own impulses) gets undone, so why do anything about their own issues or find ways to avoid Hawkmoth's influence? Andre can continue indulging Chloe's tantrums and do nothing to help prevent the birth of more Akumas, citizens can continue giving into their anger over the exact same problems and making magical contracts with the man responsible for half their issues, and everyone can keep expecting Marinette to clean up whatever messes they caused, whether she was in or out of the mask. Sure, not all of them likely believed this or felt/acted that way, and pre-amnesia Maribug could very well be exaggerating circumstances to keep her work from being undone (she did lie about the Princess Justice incident), but she clearly felt there were just too few to justify enduring any longer, especially if it took two full years for her to have a complete mental breakdown. The situation seems more a commentary about how the status quo repeats issues for the sake of placing the burden of maintaining itself on Marinette (since the ladybug miraculous is required to solve anything and everything in the show) and makes it come off like no one is learning anything from their akumatizations than the citizens "deserving" punishment for daring to need a hero because some billionaire decided being a magical terrorist and using their emotions to make villains was a better use of his time than therapy or helping his grieving son - or at least that's how I interpreted it.

Plus the Marinette in this fic is uncritically supposed to be the bad guy here (sympathetic due to her mental state and events, yes, but the bad guy all the same); Her giving Lila the Ladybug earrings is bad. Her abandoning the citizens to the new Hawkmoth and Lilabug's selfish whims is bad. The fact that they're in a timeline barrelling towards Lila becoming mayor and creating a loyal cult is bad. Her lacking sympathy in their plight is bad. Her blaming folks for being taken advantage of during moments of emotional vulnerability is bad. Her tricking Luka into getting her the Black Cat ring and having a plan in place to unreality him and remake him into her "perfect loyal boyfriend" if her does ultimately betray her is bad. Nearly everything happening in the fic is meant to be seen as bad, because this version of Marinette is so broken/damaged from her time a Ladybug (as the issues just kept repeating themselves, like a endlessly spinning wheel) that she is determined to have her "happy ending" one way or another, even if it means building on the backs of the people she once swore to protect and helping her enemy harm more people. This is a villain origin story, a tale of petty revenge gone wrong. This version is what Saltinette actually is when you strip away all the justification bias and self-righteous catharsis - a damaged but ultimately selfish girl who's willing to do whatever it takes to get hers and achieve "justice" for all the "wrongs" done upon her, consequences be damned, and we're all here to see the inevitable 12 car pile up it causes (or at least I am).

(That being said, I do think someone made a much kinder/fairer version of this story where Marinette gives the earrings to someone more responsible and things get better for everyone that's also pretty good.)

(If it isn't too much trouble) Tell me the juicy details on why you hate TwoLetters!Saltinette!

Well, after daring to read The Karma of Lies, I learned my lesson and opted to stay away from salt as much as possible, especially since the stories were from the same author. So I only read the last chapter of Two Letters, just once. But just that last chapter, and the bits and pieces I’ve heard and read from other sites, has painted a clear enough picture that I still have a good idea what it is I hate about her.

Aside from the usual behaviors she exhibits in fanfic (her hypocrisy in complaining about getting akumatized because of Lila while not doing anything substanial to fix the situation herself, ruining lives of her former friends over what’s really no more than petty high school drama, etc.), this girl, out of some warped mindset, decides to give her earrings and her heroine position over to a girl who she KNOWS is a lying, self-absorbed sociopath who will most definitely abuse the powers for her own selfish gain at the expense of others… to punish the public? I mean, at least on some level, I can understand why she wants to see her friends punished, but the whole fvckjng city?! She’s going to leave them at the mercy of someone she knows will not protect them and instead hurt them badly, and for what? Because she’s resentful of them depending on her? Well, of course they’re dependent on her, they’re living in a time when they’re in danger of literally being turned into monsters just for having emotions! I get hating that they seem to pressure her, but they have a perfectly valid reason to be pressuring her to help them when she is literally the only thing saving the, from a magical madman. I’m pretty sure common curtesy takes a backseat to rational fears.
