Imagine reader being a guide in Linked Maze. They are sort of the protector of people who end up in the maze. They're pretty shy and end up not showing themselves to most, who end up with such a terrible fate. They leave the Links little things to help along their journey, such as food, weapons, and medicine.
Only one of the Links has seen you before—Wind. It was only a brief interaction as well. You guided Wolfie to him using your abilities. Wind only saw you for a moment. You were gone in less than a blink of an eye. He still thinks he imagined it until he actually meets you for the first time. He was overwhelmed with so many emotions. He saw you as what you were for those stuck in the maze—a protector.
He wanted to throw himself at you and cry on your shoulder. He wanted to demand answers. The first time he met the guide of this place, you didn't even exchange words. You disappeared after a few minutes. He was devastated after that. It was your first official meeting, and he didn't even get to say 'thank you' or ask any questions like, 'why did you help me?' That's when his obsession with you started. It was just an inkling of a need for safety that evolved into a desperate devotion to you.
Wolfie is your familiar at this point. He helps guide the Links through the maze and makes sure they don't end up gravely injured. He hasn't actually ever seen you. He just hears you and follows the scents that you waft into his nose. He's not suspicious of you. Your life force is positive. It reminds him of what he feels in the Triforce.
You guide the Links together and keep those awful monsters at bay. You wish you could warn them about what's to come, but you are unable to. You can only leave clues. You are the guide of the maze—the protector. Someone who was tricked into leaving the heavens by a deity who fell from them. You would tell them everything if you could, but if you did, then you'd reveal your location to the corrupted God.
One word and it's all over. One word and the Links will fail their mission.
You wish you could tell them that something worse than Demise was plotting to take over the heavens and destroy the goddesses. Alas, you cannot. The evil deity injured you gravely. If you seek refuge in the heavens, then you leave a possible opening for the evil being to sneak in. You have learned from watching Time on his adventures.
So you watch from the shadows and guide them when you can. You don't realize how dependent they are becoming to your presence. You understand how far their yearning goes.
Four gently probes Wind for more information about your meeting with him. Wind shys away from telling him because he wants to keep you for himself. Warriors is a little jealous but keeps the two calm.
Time knows more about you than the others. He met you once on his journey. So technically, he has met you before, but since you have been forced to take a mortal form. He hasn't seen you since you were injured and forced to look over them in the maze. Somehow, he knows you're out there. He still has that ritual for summoning you. You should've never given it to him. You don't understand how many times he has wanted to use it but ultimately decided against it. He's the Hero of Time! He's the Hero of Time... He's the Hero of Time?
Why would someone so important, a god(dess), want him bothering them?
The rest of the Links are a bit confused about you. Your presence is enigmatic, to say the least. You are like an unspoken rule among them. All of them need to know more about you, but they refuse to cooperate with each other when they learn something new about your existence.
The only question that really remains is: will they ever escape the maze? Or will you fail in your mission of protecting them?
Ignore the fact I went so off canon for this. comic & characters — @linked-maze

.:It's about Time:. part 1

A story behind how Navi and Time found each other! enjoy!
It was a cold hazy morning in the forest, after a whole night of rain. The small beam of light from the morning sun was shining through the leaves, warming up the air that was fresh and with an earthy smell. A tiny blue fairy emerged from a hole in a great redwood tree. Butt in the air, she yawned and stretched her whole fuzzy body, shaking the sleepiness out of her and flapping her wings awake. She raised her snout to sniff the air and letting out a sigh of relief. After months of winter, spring was finally settling in, and Navi couldn’t be happier about that. The forest was alive with all her favorite snacks, spiders, grasshoppers, and more! So, no time to spare! She set out to search the environment for some breakfast.
Navi flew through the cold air, the sun hitting her from above. The floor of the deep forest was filled with big old stones with beautiful carvings all over the place with moss and ferns covering the ground completely. A river close by, water flowing steadily. Navi took a glance for any danger in the area, but all seemed fine. She decided to start her hunt here. Flying down to land on some of the wet stones, almost slipping but caught her balance. She skipped along from stone to stone, stopping a bit to sip some water from a nearby plant that was dripping from the rain. Then, in the distance before her, she saw a delicious grasshopper! Navi ducked down quickly, and without making a sound she sneaked up to the prey behind the ferns, slowly approaching, ready to pounce any second now. However, suddenly a disturbance from the distance echoed throughout the deep forest. The grasshopper hopped away in fright. Navi attempted to go for the kill, but it was too late. It got away. “Tch…” Navi sighed in disappointment. She flew up to one of the tree branches high above, away from any danger. What in the world was that sound? Monsters did live in these woods, maybe it was one of those awful wolfos striding around the area, looking for their own prey. Or maybe it was one of those atrocious stalfos beating up a tree somewhere for fun. Suddenly the sound was back! It sounded like thunder rumbling! This was no wolfos or stalfos. This was something huge and dangerous. Navis curiosity got the best of her, and she set out to solve this. Navi got closer and closer to the mysterious rumbling. She flies above an ancient, overgrown temple ruin. Walls, Pillars, and statues broken down over time, greenery taken over the place completely. She has been here many times for the amazing apple trees that grow here. It has always been such a peaceful place. But not today, birds flying away in flocks, frightened by the ruckus. It sounded like a huge fight was going on!
Navi quietly landed on one of the big ancient statues, hiding behind it to get a peek in on what was going on, but nothing could have prepared her for what was making all that sound. It was a Goron! Out in the middle of the forest throwing around huge rocks, destroying them into small pieces. The Goron looked angry yet saddened, mostly getting his frustrations out. What was a Goron doing so far from home? Was he lost? Did he lose something? Whatever it was, he was making a commotion. Navi rolled her eyes. She had no time for this. She was about to set off again, but something stopped her. She took a glance at the Goron. Something about him seemed familiar but she couldn’t put her paw on what it was… it was like she had seen those eyes before, the right eye barring a huge scar across it. Navis memories sparked for a moment, the eyes resembling her dear old friend, but there was no way this was Link, this was a Goron. Navi felt a little bad stalking this poor Goron. So, she decided to let him be. He clearly didn’t want to be disturbed. Why else would he do his outburst deep in the forest far from home. Besides, Navi still needed some breakfast. She set off as quietly as she came. Back home, Navi was digging for worms in some dirt right underneath the redwood tree. It was no grasshopper and Navi loved the hunt of it all, but it was tasty, nonetheless. continued her day with small tasks and gathering fresh leaves for her nest. Walking down to a little puddle nearby to wash her paws clean after an evening of work, she couldn’t stop thinking about the Goron. And Link… it has been years now, but she still missed him deeply. The day she left him after completing the Dekus trees dying request, she was supposed to move on with her life. Finally reuniting with her great fairy and all her sisters in the forest. Living life with all her sisters was nice but she felt empty inside every single night, wondering what Link was up to and if he was okay… so one day she decided to go look for him! The hero she was meant to be with! But… he was nowhere to be seen. No one in Hyrule knew where he was. But that didn’t stop her! She searched for days, weeks, months! But with no luck… It was like he was gone… dead. Navis hope grew thin over the years, and she settled down in the deep forest, Abandoning her quest. But no matter what she did, she could never let him go in her heart.  The day went by, and the sun started to set at around dinner time. Navi laying at the opening of her redwood tree hole, still in thought, and was not feeling like hunting. She felt restless and couldn’t focus. So, she decided to go to sleep early this time. Letting her mind rest. to be continued~

I wrote my first The Blue Castle fanfic! One-shot. It isn't much, but I hope you enjoy :)
***
If there was one thing Valancy loved on earth, it was long walks alone with Barney.
She adored trotting beside him, his hand in hers as he pointed out a fern here, or a daisy there; the sound of his voice, his laughter that tinkled like golden bells, the way his eyes sparkled when the light caught them.
One such evening found them strolling together round the edge of Mistawis Lake. Valancy had a basket of berries on her arm, and it swung merrily as they stepped over stray pebbles and weeds and grasses. The sky was stained with a rosy light tinged with saffron and amber, and in the quiet of the twilight the waves shone with an aquamarine radiance. Barney’s arm was around her shoulders, and hers round his waist, and as the thrushes chirped in the bushes and the frogs gurgled and a sweet wind cooled her cheeks, Valancy felt there never had been a pleasanter evening in all her life.
“Do you know, Moonlight,” Barney murmured, guiding her deftly over a rock, “you can catch tadpoles just round this time of year, if the water’s quite warm?”
Valancy looked back at him in surprise.
“Can you?”
“Should be easy enough,” Barney said. “We can’t take any back with us — we haven’t any jars or nets or anything — but it would be fun to simply try.”
“John Foster says,” began Valancy. But Barney had swung round already with an exasperated sigh and was walking quickly towards the rim of the lake. Blue-green woven with ephemeral light, the waves lapping tenderly at their grassy edges. The sound was calmer and more soothing and gentle than any Valancy had ever known — bar the ones of Barney’s kisses and his soft breathing while he lay in her arms.
“Barney, wait!” Valancy hurried after him, and watched him take off his socks and shoes and dip his long fingers in the water, moving his hand through it, the ripples resounding.
Barney turned and beckoned to her. She gingerly slipped over and set down the basket of berries, and he helped her over to his side, crouching over the edge of the lake.
“There,” he said, pointing. “Do you see?”
And Valancy did see. Tiny black wriggling creatures, writhing beneath the waves, whole clusters of them moving together, twisting and turning in the limpid water. Barney thrust his hand in and scooped up a triad of excited little fellows, jumping about in his palm. He laughed and let them go.
“Now you try, Moonlight,” he said.
Valancy put out her hand. The water felt deliciously warm against her pale skin. She felt the tadpoles against her flesh — wet and slimy and unlike anything she’d ever touched before but somehow so new, and not at all unpleasant.
With a surprised “Oh!” she lost her hold of them, and the little things escaped. Barney chuckled quietly.
“Try again. Cup your hand, like this,” he said, showing her.
She did. And lost them again, with a great deal of giggling from them both. Barney kissed her cheek softly, his eyes glistening with something like affection.
“I’m going to get them this time,” Valancy said resolutely, amidst her continued laughter, “I really am.”
And so unwavering was her conviction that she leaned in to scoop up the tadpoles in her palm as Barney had done so quickly and easily — only too far in, for all at once she lost her balance, and would have fallen clean in if Barney hadn’t caught hold of her arm with a — “Valancy — honey!”
He pulled her back quickly.  She only had a tiny graze on her palm from trying to steady herself, and it had brushed a jagged rock rather roughly.
“Are you alright?” he asked, quite visibly worried.
Valency nodded.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have —” She could see him reproaching himself. Barney took her palm that had been injured, and very gently lifted it to his lips. His hand touched her face; stroking, caressing.
And then his lips were upon hers, soft and hot and wonderful. They kissed in the falling dusk while the first stars blossomed and the silver birches rustled and crimson slowly faded to purple and the air grew imperceptibly more chill.
And the tadpoles wriggled away, forgotten.

@batrachised here’s that fanfic I mentioned earlier! This is like. Peak literature. Seriously, I’ve read tons of professionally published books with writing that was of a lesser quality than this.
I think what I find most incredible about this from a fanfic point of view though is how it absolutely captures Dean. Not just his thoughts and perspective, but the whole fairy-tale-byronic-hero outlook that drives his actions through the course of the series. This is Dean as if Dean were the main character he thinks he is.

𝑪𝑨𝑻 𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑺 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑪𝑼𝑹𝑺𝑬
I saw @yangyangchuu had posted about an AU interaction between Tyler and Wednesday as a cat and I couldn't help but write a one shot and put a little edit together for it.
You can have a little peek at it and the rest will be on my AO3 which will be linked at the bottom of this post.
As soon as Wednesday had entered the coffee shop, Tyler's eyes had shot towards the door instantly as he noticed those familiar black fluffy ears, suddenly making the decision to hastily finish dealing with the only customer he served, make a quad in a small cup, and immediately declare to his colleague who stood beside him that he was going on his break, going to her with a spring in his step.
As Wednesday sat by the window, she barely looked at him as he sat himself down opposite her. She was far too busy analysing the book she'd brought with her, her tail swishing calmly as she focused. The lack of acknowledgement caused him to awkwardly smooth the dark red apron that he wore as a part of his uniform. So, with a clearing of his throat, Tyler slowly pushed the paper cup across the table towards her to get her attention, and that's when those soulless dark brown eyes of hers finally looked up from her book to meet his gaze. "You know, if you keep giving me free quads, you'll eventually end up in trouble with your boss." She stated with a slight furrow of her left brow, those soft cat ears of hers lowering just a little.

The recent conversations that have been sparked about the LM Montgomery fanfiction I used to write has made me think I ought to share a link to my old ff.net profile in case anyone is curious about the various stories I wrote: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/859760/
The first LMM story arc I wrote consists of Shirley of Avonlea, Diana of the Island, Meggie of Green Gables, Weeping May Tarry, The Sound of the Sea, and Christmas Memories (which should be read after all the rest, as there are massive spoilers in it for the other stories).
The second arc, entirely unrelated to the first, consists of Season of Song and The Summer Between. (I keep thinking that one was also a trilogy, but nope, only two. I think I must have intended to write a third, but by 2011 I had two toddlers and was also writing Magic Most Deadly (the first version), and simply ran out of time and creative energy for fanfiction, and so the door gradually and gracefully closed on that part of my writing life.)
Then there's Cup of Joy, a Jane of Lantern Hill sequel, and Marigold of Misty Hollow, a Magic for Marigold sequel (though honestly I don't recommend that one--I was trying to convey something with story that I did not, at that point in time, have the skill for, and it ended up suuuuper "messagey." I sometimes think about deleting it, but I know there are a few readers who were able to look past the preachiness and enjoy the characters, and it doesn't feel right to rob them of the chance to re-read something they liked just because I wish I'd written it better). (The Jane story, however, is one of my favorites out of all my stories I've ever written.)
I also dabbled in some Narnia fic, some Lloyd Alexander fic, and even a couple of unfinished Jane Austen fics, but the LMM stories were my first entry into the world of fanfiction, and that's where my main focus always remained.

A weeklong stay at a faraway resort would normally be paradise. The idea really loses its appeal when your enemies come along for the ride.
In all honesty, everything about this felt off to Luigi. How unfortunate to not only be proven right, but also to be tasked with fixing this mess.
He wasn't alone, at least. Soon, he'd have the whole party back together.
In which Luigi's Mansion gets adapted for the movie-verse, I finally post something after clearing out my old stuff and imbibing in depresso espresso, and everyone has to witness the creative results of a newly-acquired special interest.
I never imagined Luigi of all things would get me out of a creative slump, but here we are. I'm gonna try to post weekly, and I already have a backlog.
Loosely based on @profbastard's Synctium AU, in that I came across it after I wrote two chapters and it's great for a visual. You'll see eventually.

I found this oneshot some time ago. It is a Teddy/Emily story, set between Ilse's grand escape and Teddy's comeback. It explores Teddy's and Emily's feelings of loneliness at the end of the book.
I think it helps to make him a more fleshed-out character (and less of a soggy piece of toast).
Hope you'll enjoy!

Worst things the engines have received in fan mail
Thomas: a twenty page detailed letter on why I should’ve been portrayed as a Jinty
Edward: a batch of biscuits, I can’t eat but also I didn’t want to waste them so we just threw them in my firebox…
Henry: a custom model of me, but they used a LMS Jubilee Class as a base…
Gordon: a letter detailing a fan’s ride on my brother that was written a very condescending way
James: a scratch ticket that I couldn’t cash in because it’s from Australia
Percy: Scarves
Toby: really, I don’t know what this even is and judging by the look on my driver’s face, I don’t want to
Duck: this LNER badge
Donald: this flag, I don’t know where it’s from but I think it might be a variant of the german flag? *gestures to the pansexual flag*
Douglas: a bunch of stuffed ducks, they were meant for Donnie but the fan mixed us up.
Oliver: a lawsuit from my previous owner saying that sir Topham Hatt stole me from him.
Toad: not the worst thing, but someone sent me this cute little toad sitting on a toadstool with a fishing pool statue.
Bertie: nothing.
Diesel: this weird smut fanfiction that has me and Thomas as humans in high school and [CENSOR CENSOR CENSOR CENSOR CENSOR CENSOR] and then eat spaghetti with a side of breadsticks. And of course because of our tradition, we had to read it out loud… I now promise to never make fun of James and Edward when they receive fanfiction together.
Daisy: Milky, the marvelous milking cow
Bill and Ben: a stink bomb, not a bad thing for us, but it was the wort thing a fan had sent to us according to BoCo
Salty: Coupons to a grocery store
Cranky: a cease and desist from OSHA
Duncan: a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card that we can’t use because the UK doesn’t have Dunkin’ Donuts
Philip: this lovely card that says “!!^%$!! You! Get off the island or we will have you deported back to America!” Complete with a picture of the fan flipping me off.
Harold: a single screw
Emily: some fan threatening a lawsuit against me for some reason.
Sir Topham Hatt: a porn video….

Sorry l stop l just wanted to branch out my puns
that's a nice sentiment but I would really appreciate not generating any AI content affiliated with my work. I would encourage you instead to branch out in things like fanfiction, role-play groups, learning to draw, really any way to express yourself creatively, even if that's just entertaining scenarios and fantasies in your own mind. You can write cute interactions in your notes app, you can tell friends about scenarios you want to happen in any number of yandere vn/ otome discord servers, you can make mixtapes or collages or cosplay- there are so many accessible options for you to enjoy the things you like instead of relying on AI.
There's nothing I can do to stop you but artists like me work really hard to create something new for people to enjoy, and feeding the result of countless hours of work and a genuine attempt at connection to a process that profits off of the theft of other people's content as well as stripping the human interaction and interpretation from engaging with art feels. bad. I do not endorse the use of AI chatbots, image generators, or writing assistance/generation. It is not a benign action, and engaging with AI is just teaching it how to replace artists like me faster. Please consider doing some additional research on this topic to familiarize yourself with the workers' rights and human interest conflicts that are arising from our current model of AI use.

@kehlana-wolhamonao3 tagged me in the WIP names game. Sadly, my WIPs all have very boring names -- I spent my youth organizing my writing folders by ship and so got into the habit early of just calling the files after their main characters. So we've got:
Fanfiction:
training [the Hunter X Hunter fic eating my brain]
Eric [of Kilmeny fame]
Leah [from Stardew Valley]
Petit Gervais [LM, first part posted here]
And then the TBC wips, with slightly more variation:
Courtship
Zeke
A princess in deewrood [didn't fix the typo there because it makes me laugh]
Original stuff:
Elliot
Five times
Zariel
Ellie [NPC Shopkeepers story]
Erik [Forbidden Hugs story]
Tobias
