Looking for a beta reader

I don't know how to start this, but it's really my first time trying to find people to read my stories and get feedback on it, since I started writing I always wanted one, because I like the idea of being able to understand another person's point of view about writing.

Lately I'm having a hard time proofreading the stories myself because I proofread them in my original language (Spanish) and then translate them into English (something that takes a lot of work and makes me wonder if the story is translating minimally to what I want to express after all) plus I'm wanting to write a lot more than a thousand words and develop my ideas a bit more now that I have free time before I start my classes. In the end it gets a bit confusing not having someone who can guide me in the translation and at the same time start to get more involved in the plot of my characters.

I understand superficially how Beta's work, however, since I am about to come into contact with this type of reader for the first time, I would like you to bear with me if you plan to interact with this post to find out more about what I wrote.

For now I'm focused on writing stories about Formula 1, you don't need to understand much about this sport if you are not a fan since I didn't touch too technical details during the stories. Anyway, it would add a lot of points to it if you are a fan. :)

Hi i haven't been posting for a while because I'm working on the new fanfic -Chuseok family reunion- I'm really struggling to write like i already have everything planned out how many chapters i want and what i want in those chapters but i want it to be good so I'm just thinking too much about what i want to write and those conversations to be realistically plus i need to do some research on A/B/O cause i know and read about it but don't know how to write otherwise it will feel like I'm just writing a regular story that just has a/b/o tag

my goal on every chapter i try to have 16k words but I'm easily distracted so rn i have 2k words and i have been writing for a week 💔

I litteraly made a playlist and fanart that i won't finish because i need to keep writing

I think im finally at a point in my life where I can write fanfiction but I don't know how to go about getting a beta reader because the ship I wanna write for is a little rare and so I want to catch any mistakes so I can produce quality content. The fics are probably not going to be long either and they'll probably be one shots, but one shots are important too! The ship im starting out with is frankfoggy (for those who don't know thats the punisher/foggy nelson) and im thinking about some mcdanno down the line. Any advice is appreciated!!

Title: Clap Snap Boom!

Summary:

Reputations lead to rumours, and rumours have a tendency to run free. So when rumours of the infamous Double Black reach the Pro Heroes, the organization of the shadows is in the eyes of the light.

So now the Pros Focus is on the big bad mafia. But if they were to focus on reforming Double Black, then the situation would be put in Double Black's control.

And it would be disgusting to not save these orphans? Who had no guide in the world, who were forced and manipulated by evil men to be heartless killers by a brutal, unforgiving world?

I mean- have I mentioned they don't have parents?

Or: Double Black is put into a villain reformation program at UA as its first unwilling participants. (Though they have more control than UA thinks.)

Current word count: (around) 15k

Tone: Dark Comedy (the actually funny kind I hope)

NO smut, platonic relationships unless decided otherwise, and of course, fluff, angst, and humour

Though it will have semi graphic violence, and if gore is necessary in will be non-descript

And I’d also like to know the reaction they had to certain parts. If I’m trying to make my readers sad but the beta reads it and feels happy, I might need to tweak the tone.

You also do not have to be extremely professional or serious, you can give comments in abbreviations for all I care- just be creative, get your comment across, and help me improve my fan fiction. beta reader for a Dead Boy Detectives oneshot?

So… I’ve been working on this thing for months now. Originally I thought I might get it done for Payneland week 😅 well long story short, I didn’t. But thanks to my wonderful weekly writing group, I finally finished the first draft!

I’m not going to read it again myself for at least another week, and I really would love to get some fresh eyes on it that are not my own. It’s about 7k words of introspective character study with a happy ending 😂 so does anybody in the fandom want to look this over for me?

It takes place right after the end of season 1 and has zero plot and a lot of dialogue. It’s very much a case of yet another cake I think. ☺️ If that sounds like something you’d like to help me polish, hit me up via dm or reply!

Hey! Just out of curiosity (I would be fine with or out) but would anyone be interested in being a beta for something I’m beginning to write?

It’s for my Zombie Stomp au and I’m not nearly as confident about this one like I am other things I’ve written and I just need help figuring out if something flows right or wrong. (I could also beta for other authors who need it if they wanted me to) but I would most likely send either full chapters or snippets of chapters depending on what you would want. 😭

But here is a quick description of the plot

Eddie Munson finds himself alone and nowhere to go when he gets separated from his uncle in the middle of California and on their way to Wayne’s childhood home in Georgia. Forced to travel on his own he ends up lost in Oregon, the completely opposite direction from Georgia and finds himself in a life or death situation with a complete stranger. Said stranger being Steve Harrington, a man who is slightly hard of hearing Eddie discovers and unable to talk. Why that is he isn’t sure, but he does know Steve knows how to survive a lot better than Eddie can.

Conveniently Steve happens to be heading to the same state as Eddie and both agree that it would be safer to travel together rather than by themselves. Starting off on the wrong foot the two bicker in their own way through numerous states but grow a bond that Eddie never expected to have, even before the world went to shit. Carrying more than dried up expo markers, Steve has a mysterious past that Eddie wants to explore. Even if that means it may break the bond the two of them have worked so hard to build.
