Finished Object... Thursday?

My fiancée asked for the tablet woven bracelet I said I'd make, meaning I had to finish the project currently on the loom first. This cord is just a tad too wide for this particular bag, so I may end up making a narrower one later, but for now it holds things shut and will work until I figure out something better. I'm still really proud of this band and I learned a lot while making it.

Because bracelets are so small, the warping and weaving were actually pretty quick for that, so it only took about a day to weave once the loom was free. I'm still working on tension and consistency with projects over about 14 cards (this one was 24) but I still like how this turned out. It's a bit shorter than what I'd intended, so I have plans for changes for the next one, but it does make me want to keep trying bigger weaving projects!

Not a recent finish, but I did finish the second test knit of the dice bag pattern, and will start editing the pattern soon!

I know I just said that we shouldn't categorize people in history, but when it comes to the presidential podcast, I do find myself sorting presidents into "good" and "garbage" piles based on how they treated their wife.

Good

Ulysses S. Grant gets top marks here. I'm not crazy about his wife, but he was, and they're cute together. She was sunny and upbeat enough to boost him through a lot of years of struggle, and he was devoted to both her and the children.

Theodore Roosevelt was a loving husband to both his wives and a ridiculously devoted father to all his children.

James Garfield starts out in the garbage pile because he married her without love and had an affair, but the way they both overcame that to fall deeply in love is a pretty beautiful redemption.

Woodrow Wilson seems to have had a pretty good relationship with his wife. I know less about them so this is a tentative classification, but she was willing to basically help run the country after his stroke, so it suggests there was something good there.

Garbage

Warren Harding reigns in the garbage can. Multiple unrepentant affairs with long-term mistresses.

FDR was already on pretty shaky ground in my mind, but once I learned he had an affair with Eleanor's secretary, and then Eleanor stayed with him through polio, and then at his death he was with this same secretary while Eleanor was away, he lost a lot of points.

Middle Ground

Lincoln and his wife had a pretty rocky relationship, but from what I can tell they tried to make it work and were planning on taking steps to improve things before his death.

Chester Arthur's wife hated that he was constantly away on political business, which gives him a lot of bad husband points, but also she did want that high-class, high-status lifestyle, and from what I can tell he did love her and had a lot of regrets after she died.

My splatoon guys~ I've seen people do their version of agent/main player characters and so here's mine! I never played splat 1 so it's just agent 4 and neo3....they don't have names.

They're roommates but don't yet know that they're both agents lol so they often lie/don't believe/talk around each other about their day-to-day business. 3 is all about turf, ranked and looking fresh while 4 is just trying to earn enough for rent lol

Let's start with adventure first and we'll switch to intrusive fantasy halfway through.

What type of adventure are your characters going to go on?

How is this adventure going to incorporate one of the works of mercy?

Is the adventure directly related to your choice of mercy? Or is it going to be less obvious?

Your adventure happens by being dragged into visiting the sick/imprisoned. This was not how you expected your day to go, but it's definitely been interesting.

You're caught in a storm, it's pretty terrifying as you're not just caught in any storm, but one that you're pretty sure includes a funnel cloud right above you. This is not the kind of adventure you signed up for when traveling. Nobody around you did either though. Dealing with the aftermath of the storm will be as much of an adventure as surviving the storm.

Panic! A young child is lost on a beach and is tired, hungry and thirsty. What can be done to help this lost child get back to their family.

I like to think that Kingsley doesnt hear from Jester in three days and assumes that she's died because nothing else could keep her from sending messages.

So he goes to port in Nicodranas to make sure she's ok and finds out about Fjorester engagement and Jester is complaining about not being able to message everyone about it.

Kingsley asks why she can't and Beau and Caleb both deadpan "Moon's fucked. Magic broken."

"ITS WHAT"

"Yeah Ludinus Daleth blew up the moon amd now magic doesn't work."

aHHH the thought of King realizing something is very wrong because he hasn't heard from Jester makes my heart hurt. Especially since he's always been a bit protective of her as Molly. And after watching Lucien kill both Jester and Caleb? I think it's made Tealeaf especially protective of them--

I NEED HIM TO HEAR ABOUT FJORJESTER ANNOUNCEMENT SO BAD!! I'M SO SAD HE MISSED IT--he'd be a menace about it, but also so happy for them. Also, "Pirate Man" is so cute,,

I really hope we get to see another Nein oneshot soon with Kingsley--especially one where they're still dealing with the solstice. Fingers crossed that Taliesin at least mentions what King's been up to in the next 4 sided dive 👀

lilah growing her hair as a form of healing, as proof that her body is capable of growth and life after so much death. lilah gaining weight slowly, in bits and pieces, over the years as a symbol of her life becoming stable and safe. lilah's skin becoming more suntanned, less death-pale, as a sign that she has fought back against the cursed blood in her veins. for a few years at least, lilah looking healthy and content and happy.
