Take some new clowns I’ve gotten over the last little bit.

Well them as well as Lilly/liquid rat and Soleil/solid rabbit.

Take a small likely not small spinterest ramble-

Now you see, I like clowns for many reasons. Starting off, I believe my fascination was due to my want to seem creepy. If I was intentionally odd then my 11-12? Year old self could seem quite edgy and different.

As I grew older I grew more found of them. I greatly enjoy their silly makeup. Specifically clown dolls. The colours, the childish magic. The sparkle in their eyes.

As I adore collecting, this quickly became something to collect. Clown themed anything, specifically clown dolls. Their soft hair, comfortable clothing, gorgeous lace. I love it. The smiles and childlike essence.

Not only that; I love laughter. Laughter is so rich and human. Clowns are based on entertainment, on laughter. Clowns truly were meant for me.

So now with this, at my age, do I truly enjoy clowns? Or do I just like collecting?

Well dear reader, I shall enlighten you.

I genuinely enjoy clowns. They’re frowned upon by most. Creepy and off putting. Odd and ridiculous. Not relatable. All things I have felt I am before. Clowns make me not alone :))

Anywho, enjoy the rest of your day, and my clowns of course. Very few have names as I’m still getting attached.

This is what a community looks like.

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.

It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.

Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.

If you want more of something, reblog it.

there is never too much art. there is never "everyone depicts this scene/character so if I depict it, it won't add anything" yes it will. no two people will do the exact same piece of art even with the same prompt. so paint or draw or sketch or write your favorite character or scene from your favorite movie or TV show. there will always be someone who wants more of your art and more of what you have made and there is never too much art
