no spoilers -> i finished the yangchen books, id rate them honestly a 10/10!! the first one was sooooo interesting and sucked me in, i didnt think that politics could be so interesting loll. the second one had the same effect, watching the relationships become fixed over the course of the novel was amazing. f.c.yee is TRULY an amazing writer i was genuinely wowed especially when the perspectives switched to unlikely people to give backstory. after these books, yangchen has to be one of my favorite avatars, and her and kaviks relationship is so complex and i want them together SOOOOO bad.

okay now SPOILERSSSS -> I LOVEDDDDD that kavik and yangchens relationship at the end of the first book was bad. i loved that they had a whole arc of becoming friends only for him to betray her for his brother who hed been wanting to see for so long, and i love that their relationship was fixed in the second book. i ABSOLUTELLLYLYLYL wanted them together i am the NUMBER ONE yangvik shipper on GODDDDD. anyways!! jujintas introduction in the first book was so interesting and i wanted to know so much more about what actually happened with him and him “killing” his brother or smth?? alledgedly… but i loved him and yangchens group w akuudan and tagayum and kavik calling him JUJI. oh i died. speaking of tagayum and akuudan they were SO CUTE, when i first read the part in the first book ab them being husbands i was so excited and i think they were handled so well (im very excited for kyoshi and rangis relationship i havent read the kyoshi books yet!!) their betrothal bracelets or necklaces or whatever are LEGIT SO CUTE and their backstorys!!!! anyways… CHAISEE!!!! i LOVEDDDD HERRRR her as a villain ATE DOWNNNNNN she was CRAZY. her backstory, the pearl, her baby, THE REVEAL WHICH I WILL TALK AB THE OTHER HALF OF RIGHT NOW. kaviks brother, kalyaan’s reveal in the first book was CRAZY. and his appearance in the second was EVEN CRAZIER. i was so shocked when kavik saw him, and then when he revealed that kavik had no leverage because he already came clean to chaisee and HE WAS THE FATHER OF HER BABY???????? my jaw dropped, i was in the car with my grandma and my cousin they can vouch for me. back to chaisee, when she was begging yangchen while thapa was preparing to use his combustion bending, oh gurl that was crazy. oh my god i almost forgot NUJIANS DEATH WAS SPOILED FOR ME BUT WHEN IT HAPPENED I ALMSOT CRIEDDDDD. and yangchen finding jetsun after so long was heartbreaking and also hearthealing and simultaneously heartstopping.

Opinion on Reinhard's dad possibly seeing "the son he never had" on Garfiel? It could totally take that route tbh

oh anon as a heinkel fan (hes soo terrible but so fascinating and i WANT to see him get better and grow as a person. but also you may have known that since you are asking me this hah) and someone who is quite fond of garf i lovedddd the recent heinkel-garfiel chapters... and LMAO this idea of like. heinkel being a bit soft on garfiel bc yay!! new son replacement!!! is SO FUNNY ive thought about it a little bit. and IT WOULD BE FUN and i think heinkels arc is super interesting bc he kinda hit his rock bottom in like about arc 7-early arc 8 where its like. its post arc 5 astrea drama so shit just got even more bleak for heinkel, hes stuck in dangerous territory and he doesnt believe in himself At All and hes too depressed to really try all that much at anything.

but then GARFIEL comes along and saves heinkel a couple times and garfiel gets hit down but keeps getting right tf up - and that goes against like literally everything heinkel thinks. he doesnt try to be better bc he doesnt think he can ever accomplish it no matter how hard he tries, but garfiel is someone who just WONT stop trying.

and we also see that heinkel learning more about rowan and cecilus and the whole deal with the segmunts has made heinkel go "oh. okay haha maybe im not as far gone as i thought" bc heinkel gets shown another example of a dysfunctional family with an extremely op son and a deadbeat alcoholic dad and theyre a mirror of reinhard and heinkel. except rowan and cecilus are like if reinhard and heinkel werent so miserable about their shit relationship, bc as shitty as heinkels behavior is deep down he still CARES. he cares a lot about his family. he misses reinhard - why else would he need schult to be a replacement? he's still mourning that loss, if you think about it. but rowan is just so batshit that heinkel immediately goes backtracking like "OKAY IM. IM NOT THAT BAD. MAYBE THERES A TINY LITTLE SPECK OF HOPE FOR ME AFTER ALL."

and garfiel is helping to be a catalyst as well bc of his own determination to always keep growing and keep fighting no matter what gets in his way. hes a spunky little kid whos powerful but when faced with opponents stronger than him Refuses To Give Up. thats inspirational i think for heinkel, especially when its not as if hes a shit fighter, dude is just outshadowed by his family and other people around him. he just has to get up and keep trying, so its interesting that heinkel DOES find the courage to try and protect garfiel while garfiel's trying not to die.

like i do think that its heinkel like having this grudging respect for garfiel after the interactions theyve had, also possibly feeling inspired by garfiel and having that tiny bit of hope in him after meeting rowan and interacting with garfiel, and also trying to repay garfiel. bc heinkel treats himself like dirt and gets treated like dirt a lot - im sure his thought process might be "this kid took the time to keep saving me even though im literally worthless and now hes in danger, this is the least i can do". i would be interested if it went the route of like. heinkel having that fatherly instinct rekindled - i think itd be interesting for garfiel as well bc. he IS lacking a father figure, but for heinkel, i think that its clear with how he acts with schult that heinkel does kind of miss having a son and having that sort of love in his life.

we know he DID use to be a good dad, and tbh i always kind of headcanoned that heinkel probably isnt that mean with most kids unless its someone like. you know. subaru. or julius. or reinhard of course. like heinkels not that much of an ass when his life is on the line or when there isnt super personal stakes involved (ie astrea stuff). hes a character that carries a lot of guilt and shame and self-hatred, someone who's spiraled into being the worst version of himself when he used to be bright-eyed and hardworking and full of love despite the weight on his shoulders - i think he would see a very kind and determined and spirited kid like garfiel (and might be reminded of the kid he Used to love) and hope that garfiel doesnt end up like him (ie lost, burnt out, and depressed). we see this sort of behavior a bit with schult too, bc heinkel tries to give schult advice and tries to look after schult a bit in general!! and garfiel's like a better version of heinkel you know? garfiel's a bit abrasive with a quick temper and all but hes extremely well intentioned in just about everything he does. and i think heinkel might have a fondness for all of garfiel's antics at this point T^T

ok so. Don’t judge me I watched a LOT of cartoons.

Pandora - Ever After High. Day and night on repeat and her favourite character was Maddie (mad hatter’s daughter for those of you that did not have this beacon of light in ur lives)

Dorcas - ok so hear me out: puss in boots. He’s so sassy she would have loved it I think

Reggie - Hilda. Ok so I only watched like a little bit of the show bc it came later but I LOVED the books. I still have some of them on my shelf just to look at the pretty art and from what I remember the show did it justice. He would have loved Hilda. It would have been his absolute comfort show.

James - Gravity Falls. Kinned Mabel always and forever and yes this is projecting but like who can’t imagine James yapping constantly about Gravity Falls??

Barty - my little pony. I will not be accepting questions. He watched it religiously because he bloody COULD and any time anyone said the show was for girl’s he probs beat the crap out of them and then skipped away singing the theme tune

Evan - Sofia the first. Just is.

Sirius - Asterix and Obelix. He would have lovedddd it idk why. Also it’s French so he’d watch it with his friends being all smug bc he’d be the only one that didn’t have to read the subtitles to understand.

Remus - Avatar the last airbender. And he had a crush on post redemption arc Zuko (I don’t make the rules I just enforce them) and looked up to Iroh as his mentor.

Lily - the powerpuff girls. She was raised on the superhero girl genre in general and would have loved this show probs even more than I did (which was a lot)

Marlene - Scooby Doo. I don’t even know how to explain this but she just would have loved scooby doo like an insane amount.

Mary - so I was stumped by Mary for a bit but I actually think this is so fitting, she would have loved Glitter force (one of the millions of iterations I can’t tell them apart in my brain they all just sort of jumbled together)

Peter - Pokémon and he would know all the lyrics to the pokérap, it’s probably his top song on Spotify wrapped and who can actually blame him it’s such a bop.

I don’t know where the inspiration hit me for this but here please enjoy my monstrous creation.

- Alice is such a fun character, I'm glad she suggested making the boys jealous so they'd maybe be kicked into high gear, she's doing the lord work cuz we were all thinking it. What more shenanigans will this open us up to 🤔👀

- I stg I'm ot7 but jeezus trouville yoongi does in fact own my entire being, I want him in a way concerning to feminism and so does MC lol. That spicy part was everything but I was so scared someone would walk in on them but thankfully that didn't happen, I would have freaked!!!!

- Jin and MC cooking!!!! Thats my husband fr and speaking of which- WE GOT HIM BOYS, THATS ANOTHER ONE IN THE BAG!!!!!!!! I love the little moments MC has with Jimin!!! I hope he's giving hopeless romantic in Trouvaille, I think it's fitting for his rancher background, and his Libraness fhdksafd. I also love the visual of manly cowboy Jimin with the Hello Kitty bandaid, he probably looked down at it a bunch afterwards and blushed thinking about MC AHHHH!! The mystery gang, omg. My literal DREAM is to formulate a paranormal investigation team, ESPECIALLY with Namkook. Just having Joon's insightfulness and Jeongguk's fearlessness I think it would be absolutely perfect. I can't wait to write more about their adventures in all of the upcoming chapters!

HA SCREAMINGGGG No like she'd need a small loan of a million dollars for a Disney trip with all of them. It would be such a cute little drabble or plot arc to write though, all of them going on rides and whatnot. AH I'm so glad you like Alice 🥺 It was important to me that MC had other friends besides the hybrids! You need some friends to confide in, not just romantic interests, and MC's friends are supportive but also give her reality checks when she needs them. Alice is soooo real for telling her use jealousy to her advantage, considering MC is a little avoidant of confrontation LOL.

fdkasf BESTIE I'm hyung line (Namjoon ult) biased, and Trouvaille Yoongi is seriously trying to snatch me away from my other three. Thankfully, they were the only two at home during that scene!

JINNIE COOKING CLASS. I love love lovedddd writing that scene, Seokjin is such husband material and especially in Trouvaille, he deserves to have fun with a new hobby 🥺 AND FINALLY ANOTHER CONFESSION!!!! Seokjin hasn't been subtle with his feelings, especially in the past few chapters, so I'm glad he was finally brave enough to fess up. at first I lovedddd the webcomic, it's my favourite webcomic of all time. Sometimes I felt like things were rushed (cough cough.. bone dragon arc...) And just seemed off in the story, like it wasn't even meant to be in it but I didn't mind it bc I liked the silliness and lightheartedness of the story until I read the q&a. I was so thrown off by how "rude" the artist seemed and when it got to the point where someone asked about all the changes that's when I was like "changes? You mean they changed a few things about the story from the original novel?". I then started digging around and that's when I found ur blogs and wow, the whole story changed perspectives for me. After reading more and more I found out exactly how complex Lloyds character is and his relationship with other characters and the whole "Javiers hair is mint green cuz silver is hard to draw" as a just beginner artist I thought was very stupid. I tried reading the novel after finding out how much was actually changed and how the novel is more complex and filled out than the novel but I'm too small brained and trying to read something with mostly words makes my head actually spin and lose interest (which is why I only read the adaptations of stuff a d never the novels) . I find it quite sad actually bc at first when we got introduced to og Lloyd in the newest chapter I instantly fell in love with him because I like his type of character and I find him very relatable, always blaming others (even tho I know I'm wrong), making excuses, violent behaviour, actually somewhat caring about things but mostly not really and using alcohol (for me it's daydreaming) as a way to escape. Or at least that's how I see him in the webcomic and yeah that's why I find him very relatable. I love him so much even more than Kim (y'all don't attack me for this T^T) but after reading ur blog about him and realising he's completely different and much more whiny and shitty in the novel I'm just like "aw man, my fav character that most people hate is actually supposed to be a absolute bitch with no good or relatable thing about him(I still love webcomic him tho)" . I'm very disappointed with the webcomic now honestly and would love to read the novel but again I just literally can't read only words (if u have any suggestions on how to make it easier and more interesting to read novels wiithout literally having to bang my head on my table because of all the words and no pictures that would be really great!! (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠)

as for ways to read novels more easily! mmhh personally i've never really struggled with binge reading, so take my words with a grain of salt, but i've heard doing it in small chunks helps! you don't have to rush through a novel, you can do it at your pace. maybe you can liveblog it, point out stuff you like or made you laugh or just notice while you read. tged specifically has a lot of chapters but most of them hover around the 2.5-2.7k word count, so you can read one chapter at a time without getting to overwhelmed. the writing style is very simple, has constant breaks and also it does have illustrations for every chapter! if that helps!

if you can do it, maybe also changing the font or the spacing can help. personally i like clear fonts without too much embellishments and 1.15 spacing, but you can experiment until you find a font that you can read easily.

i hope some of this is useful, like i said, not really my area of expertise but i really hope you can enjoy the novel! it's really good and i think you'll have a lot of fun reading it if you enjoyed the webcomic as it is!

ALSO everytime you write from daemons perspective it feels like it’s from the show/book you capture his behaviour and dynamics soooo well and it’s so accurate. I bow down to you genius em 👏👏👏

My fave part was defo dragon ride with da babies the way caraxes just melts when he sees them lol same. And daemon 🥹🥹🥹 this is like everything he didn’t know he wanted. him and babey are the best parents 😭

It was such a good one to write, because I really do enjoy the Daemon POVs. I definitely feel like I've got a solid handle on him now, and in some ways it can be easier to write him than the Babey POV. With Daemon, it's very much a "what would be the bitchiest or assholiest way to deal with this" situation. He's a 24/7 drama queen, which can be frankly hilarious at times. I'm so honoured you feel like I write him okay? Like, I don't think we could be any more different as personalities, so to be able to pull a force like Daemon off for you is the absolute greatest part of my day today. Thank you so much for this!

I loved the dragon ride, too - dragonriding and the Targaryen mythos is such an intrinsic part of Daemon and how he interacts with the world around him, and so it felt right that it be his journey. I couldn't rationalise them taking one each (becoz favouritism - seems unrealistic when they're both crying, shitting potatoes lol), and Daemon deserved a solo experience with his babies after Babey got so much one-on-one time with them during the pregnancy. Caraxes is baby, confirmed. I love grumpy noodle man, what can I say?

I mean… I get it because of what Olivia is doing irl but it is a little bizarre considering the story arch for her character. I guess the one thing that makes it understandable is her hesitancy. Every character that came to camp came for a very specific reason for their character development and arc. I can pin point every person’s plot but the only one I’m having a tough time nailing down is Kourt’s. I wonder if hers will have more to do with that vision board she made last season about becoming aligned with her best self?

I think the difference between sbr and bt is that sbr has of the most fucked up shit of the series but it also features shit is like.... actually good?? not as good as diamond is unbreakable or jojolion but still it like..... has good enough dialogue and the story is coherent-ish but it still has you churning your stomach sometimes......

Hi!! Okay so i don't know what this is referencing because I've been reading quite a lot this past week and a half so i'll just link all of it

Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean: Any trigger warnings: slight xenophobia, at one point it seems like a sexual assault is gonna happen but it doesn't (just wanna say it for those that find even the possibility triggering)

It's basically The Princess Diaries meets What A Girl Wants (ya know, that Amanda Bynes movie?) but with a Japanese-American girl. I really really liked it! Did a good job on the romance (although not as great as Destiel but that's understandable cuz no one can come close to a 12 year epic love arc) and the overall story and incorporated elements of Japan and the Imperial House of Japan (of which I knew absolutely nothing) were very well done.

Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron: Any trigger warnings: slight homophobia, sexual assault, misogyny, violence

It's a twist on the well-loved fairytale Cinderella and takes place 200 years after Prince Charming and Cinderella had their "happy ever after". The lead character is a brown lesbian girl who lives in the kingdom and, as tradition says, needs to attend the annual ball to find a suitor but she doesn't want to cuz she's in love with a girl. However, women basically are in the service of men so don't have anything to say until ... I do have to say that if you're looking for a character that really reflects on experiences as a brown girl, that wasn't as present here (it did have some moments but I have read books where it was more present) (but i'm also saying that as a white person so just wanna lay it all out there). Overall it talks a lot about abhorrent behavior of men towards women: from the "small" jokes to actual physical violence and sexual assault. I don't get triggered by those topics so for me i just found it very interesting how it perfectly mirrored our society in present tense in a way but if those topics trigger you, then maybe this isn't for you. It also has sapphic love (although i do have to say i didn't find it as perfectly written unfortunately which is a critique i've seen others give as well on the reviews of it) But overall the some what lackluster romance didn't really bother me because the setting and story is just very contemporary and compelling.

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: Any trigger warnings: violence, some misogyny (but overall nothing tbh)

A teenage girl is trying to scrape by when all of a sudden she's been named as the heiress of a multi-billion dollar estate by one of the richest men in Texas. But in order for her to inherit his billions, she needs to live in the Hawthorne estate for a whole year together with the family of the Hawthorne billionair. It doesn't take long before they go on the hunt to uncover secrets etc. I lovedddd this book. Very clever clues and tricks (or maybe i'm just really stupid so they seem really smart to me (could also be a possibility) but i really enjoyed it. If you're looking for a bad boy/charismatic male character to kinda fall in love with: look no further cuz he's in here (i mean at least for me)

The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: Any trigger warnings: violence, some misogyny (but overall again nothing tbh for me at least or that i can come up with rigth now)

Book two of The Inheritance Games (the series): I can't really delve in to what happens in this cuz spoilers and all but I read the first book (the one above this one) and then immediately read the second one which resulted in me staying up until 6 am or so because i just wanted to finish it so (oooooh it's that post you're referring to????!!! oh well anon instead you get a whole wall of me explaining some books lol)

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn: Any trigger warnings: I haven't read enough to know

I just started reading this book, I haven't even finished chapter two because I'm so tired I couldn't actually focus on the train to read it. It's about a black or brown girl who goes to college and after an incident starts to discover she's got powers while some Arthurian descendants are also mixed into it (i'm kinda forgetting the plot but it sounded so cool to me and I love the Arthurian legens so sign me up!!)

I also read a couple of chapters of Aristotle's Politics Book III, IV, VI for school: I don't really recommend it. Like it was interesting but i severely missed some criticims, some HEAVY criticism in these texts from the translators because it talks constantly about justice and injustice, equality and inequality, what is just and unjust etc. but Aristotle only means free men: YOU CANNOT TALK ABOUT A JUST AND EQUAL SYSTEM IF IT HAS SLAVES AND WOMEN AND CHILDREN HAVE NO VOICE!!!!!!!! BUT NO ONE BATS AN EYE AT IT??????? my professor just kinda mentioned it in passing in 1 sentence like yeah slavery was there and women and strangers didn't have any say and the system wasn't for them. And then a sentence later he says that there is discusison if it was an equal system in Athens and i'm like????? HOW CAN IT BE EQUAL IF SLAVES, WOMEN AND STRANGERS LITERALLY DID NOT HAVE A VOICE??????? WHAT DISCUSSION IS THERE TO BE HAD?????

Conclusion: I reallyyyyyyyyyyyy loved every book i've read so far, and am intrigued by the 1 chapter and a half i've read from Legendborn (lol) so I highly recommend all of them (alsooooo i discovered this site that has free downloads of more than 8 million books in various formats (epub, pdf, etc) but use a vpn if you download stuff cuz it may not be totally legal in certain parts of the world hihihihi

Speaking of books: I use storygraph, which is like goodreads except not run by amazon (an awful company that i never ever wanna support (to be clear: i understand wholeheartedly why some have to use it but i am very fortunate to live in a country where there are other services available besides amazon so i really try to not use anything that even remotely has to do with them) and storygraph was founded by a black woman. It does extremely well with its recommendations and if you wanna haul over your to read pile or read pile from goodreads, storygraph has a button for that. I really recommend it

YOUNG JUSTICE EP 6 - 13 RECAP

Ok, I finally caught up on Young Justice and I have to admit the Artemis arc was good but the Zatanna arc has been my favourite so far. I'm weak for all that magic, bizarre nonsense! Anyways before we get there:

ARTEMIS ARC

I really love Artemis and Jade's relationship and how complex it is and how it was interwoven through all these other female friendships/dynamics in the arc

Because I'm a batfam STAN: I lovedddd the moment where Barbara just lets Artemis know that the batfam could have her back in the mission if she wanted and that they will be there in an INSTANT to go fight the shadows 'after what they did to Jason'. Squaaaadddd 😂

Speaking of... Jason! All we're asking for is at least one episode to explain what happened to him and what's his mental state right now. Just one! But, I'm glad that him, Onyx and Jade are in their supervillain recovery classes with Ra's Al Ghul. I really hope this doesn't come back to bite them but knowing this show and Ra's, it probably will lol

Onyx and Jade seeing the island as home even though they have a lot of trauma attached to it is so real and I love that the decision wasn't a completely cookie cutter clean way of resolving things.

Cassandra and Bab's relationship gave me everything I wanted! I love when batfam stories highlight their connection because I feel like it's always lowkey slept on by writers. While at first I wasn't sure about the whole 'Killing Joke' fix in how Barbara became paralysed from the waist down, with some thought, I really prefer this version of events. It humanises the heroes with non-abilities but at the same time just makes Cassandra and Barbara's relationship so much deeper and complex... WHILE erasing the hold the Joker over Barbara's life in the comics which I also deeply appreciate. Fuck the Joker.

The literature quotes put in the episode titles, scenes in the show, dialogue and even the end credits were a nice touch. Sometimes it did feel a bit shoehorned in, but most of the time it worked and I appreciate them showing the audience (especially the younger ones) all these great texts of work.

Hmm... I would say that Artemis' arc feels the least personable out of the arcs we've gotten so far as it felt more so to do with Jade's search for redemption and how her actions affected Jade and Artemis' relationship. But, Artemis has been through a lot so I'm fine with them taking it a little easy on her lol

ZATANNA'S ARCCCC!!!

Ahhh... where to start... I loved pretty much everything about this arc lol

MY. GIRL. ZATANNA. It's interesting how much the OG squad are willing to make some morally questionable decisions for very emotionally selfish reasons and if they don't tie this arc up by the end of this whole season, it'd be a missed opportunity. But wow, Zatanna was really just rearing children (more so her students, tbh) to take the place of her Dad. I get it but noooo

I love how much creepy imagery there was in this arc. It was genuinely terrifying at some moments while watching it in the dead of the night lol

The villains of this arc were amazing and deserved. First off, The Child's amazing, I love her and her crystal monster doll, her and Klarion's energy and constant rivalry was dope and her VA is phenomenal!

SPEAKING OF! KLARION, THE WITCH BOY aka THAT. BITCH. He might be my new favourite character in Young Justice after this. The fact that he was insanely savage (no pun intended) in the past and had all that history with Vandal was a great backstory to his character and definitely made him more of a threat than he's ever been in this show which was a lot of fun. But, also, just his chaotic energy is so infectious and hilarious! His love for cats. His general bitchiness. Him possessing a school bus full of children and jumping numerous of times through TIME when he really didn't have to. (the after credits of the screaming bus with the screams on a loop was horribly hilarious). The fact that my heart actually broke for him when Teekl no. 1 was murdered? What was that about?! Haha, I actually hate how much I love this asshole. His VA is amazing as well.

I loved getting to know the students and the episode that centred on their insecurities. It was great to get to know them better buttt I could definitely see how some people would say we didn't technically need the episode as it didn't move the plot further. But then again, we didn't technically need an episode dedicated to Zatara's back story but these are important moments that the audience needed. I do think they could've been interwoven with the plot a little better though.

Oh Mary... her constant search and addiction to power made her a tinsy bit unlikeable but I'm ultimately sympathetic in the end. And it's kinda the same feelings I have towards Gar in this arc. I think it's just a human reaction tbh and they wrote it well enough to show that these ways of the two harming themselves and the people around them is all because of the trauma that they've gone through and stacked up overtime.

I appreciate that one of the biggest heroes of the arc was Dinah Lance and THERAPY. That was the biggest outtake I got of this arc about magic and spirituality and identity and I lovedd it. I gotta read more supernatural DC comics instead of just reading about the batfam all the time lol

In short; great season half. I can't wait to hear from Nightwing, Rocket and Aqualad in the other half!

never in a million years did i expect to fall so far down this hole but yes i’ve never liked an ac ship this much, my sincere apologies to everyone who followed me expecting everything else but eivor x basim content

OBSESSED with how much their relationship changes, from fornburg to oxenefordscire to cent to suthsexe, their dynamic is so wildly different, we love development <3

weirdly enough... i'm kinda happy he was not a romance option............. just bc i don't trust that ubisoft would have handled it well. i feel like their relationship would take loooong to develop

i do feel like its such an interesting ship from a narrative standpoint as well. just the idea that two gods were reincarnated into two people, one who manages to break from the influence and one who doesnt is SO GOOD and i just feel like a romance elevates it to god tier

the hostility in oxenefordscire is *chef's kiss* because imo the charm in adversary interactions in enemies to lovers type of relationships is when the insults are thrown and none of the characters are intimidated or affected at all so it's essentially pointless but it so fun!!

i feel like neither of them met a person quite like the other before, maybe that's why basim can't stop staring at her

god the GLANCES. i know, I know! they're mostly there to clue us into the fact that he has plans for her but jesus. there's scenes in which he looks completely fascinated with her and especially the way he looks at her during the campfire scene??? hhh. AND the tender way she looks at him when she says 'i am sorry basim'??? will think about that forever and i am still waiting for an apology from the animation team at valhalla 💕

it's so intriguing that they both have this sort of... subdued personalities, and it's one of the reasons why their dynamic in the cent arc is so fun... you Know they're having fun, not that they would say it outright!

they just have the sort of interactions that keep you on your toes, and their subdued emotions are ALSO the reason why "he loved you" feels like a punch in the gut. the mystery is one of the reasons why this ship is so interesting because you never really know how they felt about eachother, especially basim, in the end

WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK like. the idea of basim talking to hytham about eivor in a way that made him believe not that he admired her, not that he respected her, that he LOVEDDDD her is insane. and it's in the game. it's right there. no one stopped them and said "ehh isn't love a bit of an overstatement". no one!!!

BUT THE BLEEDING EFFECT SCENE.... insanity. the idea that after all, forgiveness did happen. it kills me that he bows his head in respect but she answers with a smile that seems... so familiar. and he looks SO HAPPY to see her. i truly believe that's proof that even then there is a sliver of him left that valued her so much 😭😭

it's not a coincidence that the stuff i make for them always has more effort put into it, this ship is a 100% my main source of inspiration for any creation. there are so many facets to it, the tragedy, the hostility, the unlikely friendship, the remembrANCE after A THOUSAND YEARS.... there are just endless quotes that get me so inspired about them bc they just have everything. "i live two lifetimes everyday" 💕
