how long has your character been here?

lucerys has been in washington for around four months, but if you asked him, he would say he's been living in the city for a year.

what is your character's job?

luke is a freshman at university, studying english literature & linguistics. he is very interested in poetry, and in learning about old english language and literature.

where has your character been pulled from in their fandom?

directly after his death in the hands of aemond targaryen & vhagar! instead of dying, he was brought to washington. for obvious reasons, little luke has been aged up from fourteen to eighteen.

has any magic affected your character?

luke does not remember anything about his past life as a targaryen/velaryon prince. he would not be able to recognize anyone from his family, if they were to approach him. when one talks to luke about his family and aspirations, the answers he gives are very vague (he believes to have moved from england to the us because of a scholarship, but wouldn't be able to offer many details about it; he'd also say that he has a mom, a step-dad and two brothers he has no clear memories of).

however, luke remembers how to speak high valyrian and believes it was a language he invented on his own. he also has recurring dreams about his dragon, arrax.

would you please describe how you think the criston-aemond podcast would go.... who would the have on as guests. would they invite aegon...

so it’s supposed to be about being a high value tradseven male and how women these days desecrate the very image of the maiden and the mother by not respecting themselves. occasional tangents on knighthood, sword violence, chastity, misinterpreted intro-level philosophy, and how Visenya Targaryen could’ve conquered dorne if she had gotten instead of rhaenys. 

Criston by vows has to just be a yes man the whole time and only really engages when it’s time to call rhaenyra a cunt or talk about the virtues of not jacking off. Aemond keeps interrupting to talk about how he could totally take his uncle in a sword fight and would be a better king. Aegon was in the bonus episode that they recorded at the lucerys is dead party but none of the rest of it because he kept calling them virgins and it hurt aemonds feelings so somehow their most frequent guests are whichever member of the Green council is unfortunate enough to be in the same room, or Daeron who is just excited that one of his family members wants to spend time with him. Cregan Stark makes the lads listen to it because Aemond usually accidentally reveals where they are because they’re complaining about the scenery too much.

Hello! There have been a lot of repeated asks and I wanted to answer them once and for all so I don't clog the dashboard with the same thing over and over. :)

What is the purpose of MC being a child in the beginning?

I wanted MC to be at their most vulnerable place possible so MC is a child in the beginning. In Chapter 2 there is a timeskip to when they are 15 and then in Chapter 3 they are 20.

Does MC have to become the Royal Consort?

Yes.

How many books will there be?

I'm planning on this being a duology!

Will we be able to choose X, Y, and Z?

Regarding the MC, you will be able to choose the following:

Which unhealthy coping mechanism is the worst for each RO's route?

I'm not a fan of spoilers and I think it will be much more interesting to see for yourself later on.

Can MC have a pet?

Yes, MC gets a pet in Chapter 4.

Does MC have any powers or can they become a mage?

No.

*** Why is MC set on revenge in the beginning of the story?

MC lost their entire life at the hands of Luceris and then got forced into the role of the Royal Consort. It wouldn't make sense, to me (the author), if young MC didn't want any sort of retribution.

Can MC decide not to pursue revenge once they are older?

Yes.

Just to make sure, there is a path of revenge in this IF, right?

Quick answer: Yes.

So MC can kill Luceris as revenge?

Yes. This is the only possible death I will confirm so please do not ask me about the other characters.

Can MC do X, Y, and Z as a form of revenge?

Why don't you play and find out?

At least tell us if MC can romance Helios for revenge.

Yes, that will be possible.

If MC does that, can they also genuinely romance someone else?

No. The ROs are all on friendly-ish terms with each other and would not have that type of relationship with MC if they were playing around with Helios.

Remember, the routes WILL lock at some point, until then everyone is free game.

MC will be able to have flings / one-night stands in any route though.

Will any of the ROs support a vengeful MC?

Your first mistake was assuming they will know about MC's plans. MC can't go around telling everyone about what they want to do.

If they find out then some ROs will support them (I will not be saying which) but it also depends on the level of MC's revenge as majority of the ROs have a good moral sense.

...Will they at least still love MC even if they don't agree with MC?

Unfortunately for them, that is very likely. ;)

Moving on... who can we have a fling with?

Is romance mandatory?

No.

Can MC sleep with the ROs without having actual feelings for them?

It is possible to sleep with Soarine or Vincent without having any romantic feelings for them. This type of relationship is not available for the other ROs.

No.

Isn't MC being the Consort of a grown man weird?

Yes, it is. People in the story do not think it is normal or acceptable.

It is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable.

For some reason a Luceris x MC romance sounds good...

Absolutely not. If you send me an ask with this type of content you will be blocked.

Is Luceris and MC's relationship considered abusive?

Yes.

Is Alistair really dead?

Yes he is. It is up to you if you want to believe me or not.

Can I call Hunter [insert gendered term]?

Sure but I will not answer asks in which they aren't referred as they/them. I don't want people to think they are a specific gender in my head.

Is Hunter really an RO?

Yes.

Then why is Hunter's route so angsty?

Wait and see!

Will MC have to confess to Hunter 24/7 to get them to like them back?

No, just show you care for them.

Does every route have angst?

Yes. Even the ones that are "easy." :)

Will there be cheating in the game?

No, none of the ROs will cheat on MC.

I do want to say that being involved with other people before MC and the RO get into a relationship is not considered cheating since they don't owe MC anything.

The same goes for MC, they can be involved with whoever they want until the relationship becomes official.

When do the routes lock?

Very late into the game, currently the plan is 2-3 chapters before the end of book 1 but each route will lock at different times.

When the routes lock, will MC and RO be in a relationship?

That depends on the RO. The only thing I can say is that feelings will be somewhat mutual.

Is NSFW allowed?

Yes.

When's the next update coming?

As I mentioned before, MC is 20 in Chapter 3.

That was brutal.

Helaena trying to give the necklace as trade off for her son and then the sawing sound. Of course, the scene was different in the book, but I think this works well for an adaptation. I wish Maelor had been included. That's going to change certain plot points later if he doesn't exist in the show.

Alicent getting with criston cole was interesting makes them both seem hypocritical. No way that affair just started thats been going on for a while.

jahareys bothering Tyland Lannister was funny. But also Tyland just give him the ball lol.

I figured Jacerys would be in winterfell longer to build up the relationship between him and Creagan Stark.

I don't get trying to make Aegon seem endearing now. We've seen him raping handmaid's and supposedly having his illegitimate children put in fighting pits. But you can tell he had a good relationship with his kids by helaena.

Also, having alicent light a vigil for lucerys seemes out of character when she was going to cut his eye out in the last season.

I really liked the backgroud for the intro, which gave me helaena vibes with all the threads.

Daemon and Rhaenys relationship seems interesting.

The crazy part is nobody cares. Alicent’s that insignificant. Helaena could tell about her mother and Criston and people would chalk it up to trauma or her being “different”. She was about to confess to Otto and he even said “I don’t wanna hear it”, I know she’s BURNING inside. A true narcissist tryna play victim. She needs to stop being delusional and get over herself and swiftly.

I gagged when I saw Otto say that. It is so crazy, a true twist. Television.

Getting fr for a min, Alicent finding every way to make this abt her seems more like--again--the writers trying to make it clear she's so emotionally suppressed and sidelined and how we should feel bad for her, woe is her. This is what they have planned for her to fill up the void canon has for her during the Dance--pity parties and self submersions with the swift relief-guilt of Alicole sex that resets the cycle.

It's brilliant, really--it angers the Alicent haters so they are still genuinenly engaged PLUS some of her lovers/defenders (and some people genuinely trying to be objective) talk about how she's continuously and finally getting some real intimacy.

Too bad it came at the cost of the consequences of kinslaying/Aemond at court; Jacaerys' North/Arryn/Manderly journey (befriending Cregan and Jeyne Arryn's words/motives); intro to Marilda of Hull; Rhaenyra's dreams/fantasies of having a daughter; Baela and/or Rhaena, them separate or together; some actual Jaecla romance; Aegon throwing that feast for Lucerys' death that he canonically does; Mysaria and Rhaenyra plotting, Mysaria in revenge for her burned dreams; Rhaenyra with Elinda Massey---literally ANYTHING!!

While one can argue Criston Cole has a power dynamic to contend with in both situations (though I would argue he still consented to both), the difference is Rhaenyra was 17, and and Alicent is a woman in her 30s who also prides herself on being religious and practically pious🤷🏼‍♀️ one of them really ought to have known better then sleeping with a member of the Kingsguard, but I won’t say which one.

you know what time it is! it's the long-awaited (?) return of Thought D: Thoughts on Hot D, where i tell everyone what's going through my head immediately after watching House of the Dragon.

season 2, episode 1

love the new intro. much better than the season 1 intro

there's no Daeron (Viserys and Allicent's third son in the books, who was being fostered by his great uncle in Oldtown). this is a massive disappointment for me, and i have little hopes of it being rectified

it would have been nice to see more of Cregan Stark and anything at all of Jayne Arryn. really expected Jace to spend more time in the north than that. still, liked what i saw. love that they mentioned how the dragons refused to cross the wall

Larys' motives are a complete mystery to me right now, which is very book-accurate

those balls in the small council room have been nothing but a liability. no wonder they're not there by the time Game of Thrones happens

i was not expecting to see Mysaria or her Accent this episode, but i'm glad we did because i like Mysaria and her Accent

more of the runtime was Blood and Cheese than i was expecting

(for those unfamiliar with Fire and Blood - which, to be clear, is entirely reasonable - the killing of Jahaerys in the books is done by a butcher and a rat catcher. their names are unknown, so the book refers to them as Blood and Cheese. no names were given in the show, so i will also refer to them as such)

changing the intended target to Aemond (it was always supposed to be one of Aegon's sons in the book) is interesting. it makes Daemon a less detestable character (which was certainly unintentional, given what i've heard about the showrunner's opinions on Daemon), but gives a weird amount of agency to Blood and Cheese

surely they did not have to walk directly across the throne room. surely there was another route

i didn't realize until now that Aegon doesn't have a younger son in the show like he does in the book

in the book, Helena is forced to choose which of her sons - Jahaerys or Maegor(?) - gets killed. she chooses Maegor, so they kill Jahaerys. changing that so instead they can't differentiate Jahaerys and Jahaera definitely makes them less cartoonishly evil and more weirdly hapless

actually this whole Blood and Cheese thing is weirdly hapless from start to end

can't believe she just walks in on criston fucking Allicent. surely they would have taken any amount of precaution to prevent people from doing that

so, when Allicent is in the sept, she says three names as she lights the candles: Alerie Florent, Viserys Targaryen, Lucerys Velaryon. now, i am more likely than most people to recognize an obscure Ice and Fire name drop, but i do not know who the fuck Alerie Florent is. based on the fact that she is a) apparently dead, b) presumably important to Allicent, and c) from a major house of the Reach, i assume she's Allicent's mother, but i don't recall that name ever having been given before now

anyway, i'm still enjoying the show and can't wait for next week

Thank you so much for asking! 🥹 I really don't have a solid summary for it right now so let me just rave about some of my favorite things about it for a second! 🤗

Aleksander is a prince that feels insufficient(? there's another word I can't think of right now) compared to his two older brothers and sister who are all crazy powerful mages so he decides to carve out his own destiny with the help of a seer who wants to change the future. He gets tricked into raising an imprisoned god and agreeing to become a sort of host for him and a weapon to get revenge on the nation that imprisoned him, and in return the god will let him use his own power to become one of the most powerful mages in the world. (This revenge plan is severely hindered by the fact that Aleksander doesn't really want to kill anyone and is squeamish about blood)

The other half of the dual pov is Lucerys who was supposed to be raised as The Chosen One™️ but didn't want to sacrifice himself for the world so he ran away and did some dark fucked up magic that included a little human sacrifice (just a smidge, it was only one kid 🙄) and a dash of cannibalism (it was only the kids heart 🥱) in order to create a new identity for himself and escape his destiny.

Aleksander and Lucerys were actually childhood friends and were raised together with the intention of Luc being trained as Alek's sworn protector, but Luc is abducted and raised as The Chosen One™️ in secret instead. Years later Lucerys is still trying to fulfill his promise of protecting Aleksander from afar (it's basically stalking, it's practically a parasocial relationship at this point)

After changing his identity Lucerys is adopted and raised by a man who is part of a secret syndicate called The Order (I'm so original) that has been working to destroy monarchy for years (not really because they disagree with a monarchy, more so just to establish themselves as the governing party) Lucerys has been slowly collecting information on them and tracking members for years with the intention of destroying them from within to keep them from hurting Aleksander's family. (He could not care less about his family, this is literally all for one hot dude he knew when he was seven)

The seer that accompanies Aleksander is named Kieran and he was actually raised with Lucerys (after the abduction, before the name change that cost a literal human heart) and he sold his soul to what is essentially the devil? in order to obtain the ability to see all possible futures and be able to change the future so that he could help Lucerys avoid his destiny. He hopes to accomplish this by instead offering Aleksander up as The Chosen One™️. (he does not consult Lucerys about any of the shit he is supposedly doing to help him, this is evidenced by the fact that Lucerys would not have signed off on any of it)

There's actually a lot of other characters and stuff going on but I don't have time to get into all of that! I also don't have a Official WIP Intro right now and probably won't for a bit so this will just have to suffice as one for the time being.

just finished playing, omg first of all this is such a quality ass if game like let me take notes... second of all, i didn't read some of the notes on this game in the intro post since i wanted to go in blind. so the stuff with lancelot and luceris took me by surprise and i very audibly went "PEEPAW NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOUVE BEEN CURSED WITH SHIT TASTE" like i'm trying not to gaf but i fear igaf... outside of that though, on a serious note i'm so so endeared with the writing and every character in here. i really love helios especially. and i like how the game doesn't play about this being an awful situation and you have every right to be angry and spiteful as you wish to be. really curious about the truth of everything, and i'm excited to see more!! gl!!!! i know this will continue to be very great!
