I was telling my partner how impressive it was that Chappell trusted the audience to sing her song without her (cuz it's full of famous celebrities and not fans) and he goes "she's your favorite artist favorite artist"

based on arlecchinos voiceline about her not being able to understand the hearth kids' slang, here are some scenarios me and my friend came up with:
hearth kids: "skibidi rizz, why are you watching cocomelon, thats not ratioed. you need to start mewing"
arle, sitting in the corner: "what the fuck are you saying"
lyney, trying to explain what camp means
arle: *head in hands, about to go up in flames because she feels old*
"why are you coming out of the closet? we're in a hallway, there is no closet?"
"What do you mean you think it's time to come out? We're already outside?"
"who did you slay? do i need to bury a body for you?"
arle, to lyney: "wait i thought you were going to be the next king of the hearth. why is everyone calling you a queen?"
"Lynnette why did you write 'slay pussy boss' on the report about Furina I had you make?"
Arle: you can't do that anymore freminet. That's against the rules
Freminet: okay miss girl
Arle: ???? I am a woman???
lyney: "youre gaslighting and gatekeeping, but youre not girlbossing"
arle: "i actually did gaslight last night. i burned that one rich guys house down. i thought i told you about that?"
"What do you mean you've been afflicted with 'brain rot' are you okay?!?!"
"drag queen? to where? are they angry at miss furina again?"
arle, to lyney: "why are they calling me and columbina fruity? my cologne smells nothing like fruit"
lyney: "father, why do you have that look on your face?"
arle: "WHY IS EVERYONE CALLING ME AN EGG"
arle: "top energy? bottom energy? if you want to succeed in the house of the hearth, then you must have top energy at all times and never fall behind"
lyney: "no thats- thats not what they meant"
"lynette, why are the kids calling neuvillette babygirl?"
"serving cunt? please dont do that, thats unsanitary"

Platonic Yandere Lyney Thoughts
Just a little think piece abt what I think Lyney would be like as a yandere, and what I think would make a him a yandere. Small Lynette cameo. Repost cause the last one disappeared so sorry. PT 2 here!
cw: soft yandere, kidnapping, child!reader, gn!reader
Platonic and soft Yandere Lyney who really wants to feel like a good big brother. His siblings are both House of Hearth members, doing dirty work for the Fatui, so he knows he failed somewhat with them. But you?
The adorable little street rat that sneaks into the crowd to watch his shows, wide eyed and amazed? Who jumps and can’t help but giggle when he shows off even the simplest of card tricks? You just look so… starved. Like a baby bird without a nest. Easy to scoop up and take home.
He wanted to be your savior. The one who you look up at with admiration, amazement. “How did you do that, Mister Lyney!”
In front of you, he didn’t feel like a mistake of a brother that failed to save his siblings from this life.
If only you just came home with him. Every time he offered dinner, or invited you around to watch a new magic trick of his, you refused. He supposed he couldn’t be mad, stranger danger and all that. He knew better than anyone else. As days passed and he continued to watch you hungry, searching for scraps while he had a house full of food. It broke him.
Maybe thats why he followed you back to your little hideout.
You didn’t notice, after all, what match was a street rat against a master of diversion? The hideout was tucked in a thin alleyway, hardly wider than him, behind some shops not too far from home. The rooftops of the nearby buildings shielded you from the rain as you huddled in what could only be described as a nest—formed from ratty old blankets and the rare trinket or clothing item you undoubtedly stole.
Lyney sighed, gathering you up in the dirty quilt you clutched and holding you in his arms. “Lighter than you should be… poor thing. I’m taking you home now kid.”
You didn’t move, just laid in his arms, but he hoped warm glow of his pyro vision was soothing to your freezing body.
Lynette was awake when he came through the door, you in his arms. Immediately, her sharp eyes fell to the child in his arms, and she just sighed. “I suppose this is what you set the guest bedroom up for?”
“Oh come on Lynette.” He said, an edge of excitement in his hushed tone. “I couldn’t just leave them. Anyone could have come by and snatched them up!”
“Evidently, someone did. You.”
“They’ll be better off with us.”
“They don’t know that. They won’t. For months, even. Are you prepared for that?” Lynnette said, sighing when Lyney nodded. “Oh well, you seemed so set on this. I installed key operated locks on the windows throughout the house while you were away. You already did but I figured everywhere would be more helpful in case they escape their room before they’ve settled.”
All at once, Lyney untensed, a look of pure relief washing over his face. He honestly didn’t know what he’d do had Lynette rejected their new sibling.
“Thank you Lynnette, you’re always such a help.” He smiled over his shoulder at her as he carried you to off your new bedroom.

The Hound and the Lioness
Sandor Clegane x fem!reader - Smut -
Part One!
Summary - Gianna Lannister is the youngest daughter of Tywin Lannister from his second wife Lynnette Stark. When Gia rushes in to help Sansa Stark, after her nephew humiliates her, the king suddenly has a 'brilliant' idea... or so he says.
A/N - This is only the second time I've done something like this... so bare with me please.
WARNINGS - If you are UNDER 18 then DO NOT read! Forced marriage, loss of virginity, blow job, blood, PIV, maybe breeding kink and size kink, literally has no plot just doing this coz I had an idea! If I've missed anything that should be added as a warning then please let me know!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gianna watched from the crowd that had gathered in the throne room, as Joffrey terrorised poor Sansa Stark, again.
"You're here to answer for your brother's latest crimes. What do you have to say?" Joffrey aimed his armed crossbow at the Stark girl as she kneeled before him.
"Your Grace, whatever my traitor brother has done, I had no part in it!" The poor girl began to sob, "You know this, Your Grace. I beg-" Joffrey had cut her off before she could finish, Ser Lancel, tell her what her brother has done!" Demanded Joffrey.
As Ser Lancel stepped forwards, so did Gianna. She always knew something wasn't right with her eldest nephew. He was evil, one of the evilest beings she's ever come across. Gia was appalled with his actions and about the fact that no one could make him stop, not even his mother.
"Using some vile sorcery your brother fell on Stafford Lannister with an army of wolves." Lancel announced. Gianna couldn't understand how people actually believe this stuff. So she rolled her eyes and mentally face palmed herself, ridiculous fools, she thought to herself.
"Thousands of good men were slaughtered, after the butchering, the Northmen feasted on the meat of the slain." This made the crowd surrounding them gasp and whisper in horror. War was a dreadful thing, Gianna knew that, but she really couldn't see that happening. At least not on Robb Stark's orders or his mothers. When she first met them, when she went with her older sister Cersei and her family to Winterfell, she'd gotten on well with the Starks.
"Killing you would, mayhaps, send your traitor brother a message." Gianna snapped out of her thoughts at that, surely he's not really contemplating that? The poor Stark girl began to weep, "But my mother insists on keeping you alive, unfortunately. Stand." Sansa stood at the king's orders, ever the obedient Lady Stark. Gianna's pity for the girl grew day by day. She didn't deserve this, no one did.
"So, we'll just have to send your brother a message some other way." Gianna took another step forward, just so she stood slightly out of the crowd, as if she might run towards young Lady Stark, she was family after all, distant but still family. "Meryn." The unspoken order was spoken and Joffrey's favoured Kingsguard stepped towards Sansa, "Leave her face, I like her pretty." And with that Sansa was punched to the stomach.
Gianna gasped and tried to step forwards, but before anyone could truly notice, her handmaid Dalia grabbed her arm, "No, my Lady. I do not think it wise to step in." Gia didn't take her eyes off Sansa. Meryn took out his sword and struck the backs of her legs, so she fell to the floor.
"Meryn, my dear lady's over-dressed. Unburden her." The Knight stood behind poor Sansa and ripped the back of her dress open, "If you want Robb Stark to hear us, we're going to have to speak louder!" Ser Meryn took out his sword again, swinging it over his head, "What is the meaning of this?"
The crowd split to allow Gianna's brother, Tyrion Lannister, to make his way through along with his man Bronn. "What kind of Knight beats a helpless girl!" Snaps Tyrion. "The kind who serves his king, Imp!" Meryn Snapped back. Gianna hated that man, he was just as vile and cruel as her nephew. "Careful now, we wouldn't want to get blood all over your pretty white cloak." Bronn, even though he irritated Gia sometimes with his crude words, managed to shut the Knight up.
"Would someone get the girl something to cover herself with." Gianna and Sandor 'The Hound' stepped forward towards Sansa. "It's alright sweet girl, Tyrion will handle Joffrey." Whispered the young Lannister Lady as the Hound grabbed his White Cloak over her shoulders.
"She's to be your queen. Do you have no regard towards her honour?" Questioned Tyrion, "I'm punishing her!" Tyrion gaped, "For what crimes? She's not fighting her brother battles you half wit!" Gianna helped Sansa stand, wrapping the girl in her arms.
"Your behaviour is despicable, Nephew! She's done nothing wrong!" Gia shouted. The Stark girl shook in the Lannister Lady's arms. "Neither of you can speak to me like that! The king can do as he likes!" Again Lady Lannister rolled her eyes, "The Mad King did as he liked! Look where that got him! Killed by his own guard, his people rebelled against him. Is that what you want to be done to you? For people a hundred years from now to remember you as the king who beat helpless Ladies?" Snapped Gianna, turning to her brother, "Perhaps they'll title him 'The Half-wit King', brother?" The people in the room sniggered and gasped. Gia swore she heard The Hound huff amusingly behind her.
"No one threatens his Grace in the presence of the kingsguard!" Meryn rushed towards Gianna, threateningly. "I'm not threatening him, Ser. I'm merely giving my nephew some... advice." Gianna didn't bother to look at Ser Meryn. "Bronn the next time Ser Meryn speaks, kill him." Tyrion said in a bored manner, turing to Ser Meryn, "Now that was a threat... see the difference?!" Gia chuckled at her older brother, they'd always been close, even since she was a little girl.
Tyrion walked towards his little sister and Sansa, leading them away. "I apologise for my nephew's behaviour. Tell me the truth, do you want this wedding to happen?" Spoke Tyrion softly, "We could try to get the engagement broken, if you'd like?" Gia rubbed the girls shoulders and they walked, "I am loyal to king Joffrey-" Stated Sansa, pulling out of Gianna's arms, "He is my one true love." With that she walked ahead of them, her ladies maids following her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gianna was summoned back to the throne room, a couple hours later. As she walked in she realised that the crowd had only gotten bigger. At the throne sat her nephew, on both sides of him were his mother, Gianna's only and older sister, and the hand, who was Gianna's father. At the bottom of the stairs to the throne stood the kingsguard.
"You summoned me, Your Grace." Gianna stood before her family. She had changed into a more comfortable dress, since she was planning to go horse riding after. "Yes, I did." Signed Joffrey. "Tell me, Dear Aunt. Do you think the way you spoke to me earlier was appropriate? Especially of a Lady." Questioned the king.
Gianna looked towards her father at that moment, his face was emotionless. So she looked towards her kingsguard brother, he looked nervous for her. "I said what I thought to be true, Your Grace." She wouldn't lie. He needed to be told. Cersei scoffed, "You're king deserves more respect from you." Gianna rolled her eyes, "DO NOT ROLL YOUR EYES AT ME!" Screeched Cersei. "My apologise, sister."
"You know, I'll have to punish you." Gia's heart began to race. Surely her father wouldn't allow that. She was his daughter, and she knew he favoured her out of all his children. Looking towards him again she saw that his face was still, emotionless.
"You see, I've had a few hours to... come up with your punishment. Mother helped me." They both chuckled. "You're young, unmarried, pretty. What better punishment is there than to marry you to a... hound." The crowd gasped at their king's words. Joffrey laughed hysterically. "Mother's always calling you a bitch, so it seems quite fitting! Don't you think?!" I glanced towards 'The Hound' . He stood tall, but you could tell he was angry.
"Your Grace I don't think that's-" Tywin tried to reason with his grandson, he didn't want to drag his house through the mud again. "Silence!'' shouted Joffrey. "Hound stand by your bride to be!" Sandor reluctantly moved to stand beside Gianna. "The Hound and his bitch. He's so massive I'm sure he'll split her open when he takes her maidenhead!" Gianna looked down in shame at being spoken about in such a way.
“Your wedding will be the day after tomorrow.” With that Joffrey excused everyone. Gianna quickly left the throne room, rushing to her chambers. Tears were dripping down her face as threw herself on her bed; her head buried in her arms.

Morning Dew
| warnings: fontaine spoilers
| genre: i dont flippin know
| summary: fontaine archon quest
| part: 2

One night, as you lay awake, unable to sleep, you hear a soft knock at your door.
You get up and answer it, and are surprised to find two strangers standing (and one floating) before you.
“Hey, you’re Y/N, right?” the fairy-looking one asks.
“Ah, you must be the Traveler and Paimon. I heard of your arrival in Fontaine today. I must say, you have to be looking for trouble if you’re standing against Lady Furina herself.”
The fairy-looking one crosses her arms and puffs her cheeks.
"Excuse you! We're not looking for trouble!"
The other stranger puts her hand on her shoulder.
"Paimon," she starts, “please calm down."
"I'm sorry, Lumine, but that's a big assumption!"
"It's alright," the blonde says, smiling.
She turns to you.
"I apologize for my friend," she says, "she can be a little... over-excited at times."
"No problem," you say.
You extend your hand.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Y/N, the second Champion Duelist.”
Lumine shakes your hand.
"Likewise. My name is Lumine."
She gestures to her floating companion.
"This is my friend, Paimon."
Paimon sticks her tongue out at you.
"Yeah, yeah. Nice to meet ya."
Lumine chuckles.
"Anyway, we were wondering if you knew where we could find Lady Furina," she says.
“At this time of night, she would be in bed. But, tomorrow, I can accompany you to the Opera Epiclese? That’s where she usually resides throughout the day. That is, if she’s not out eating sweets at Hotel Debord.”
"Perfect," she replies.
She turns to her friend.
"Let's go find a place to stay."
"Yeah, Paimon’s beat," Paimon says, yawning.
"Alright," you reply, “take care."
"Thanks for the help," Lumine says.
She and her friend turn and walk down the street.
You close the door and sigh.
That was not a pleasant introduction.
You get back into bed, and try to get some sleep.
Tomorrow is another day.
————————————————————
Morning comes, and you awaken to a bright, sunny day.
As you’re walking to the Opera House with Lumine and Paimon, you see two familiar faces.
“Ah! Lumine and Paimon! And…er? Y/N?”
“I can sense your enthusiasm upon seeing me, Lyney,” you start, “I am solely just assisting Lumine and Paimon, I won’t be staying long.”
“No, no, no! That’s not what I meant at all, Y/N! I just meant it’s weird to see your face in the Opera House if it’s not being used for trials,” says Lyney.
"I have some business to take care of," you say, evasively.
Lynnette raises an eyebrow, but stays quiet.
"You’re not going to stay to watch the magic show?” Lyney asks.
You shrug.
“I don’t have tickets.”
“Nonsense! Me and Lynnette are hosting, there’s no need for that. I’ll get you three the best seats in the house!”
You frown.
"I can't ask you to do that," you say.
"You didn't," Lynnette replies.
She holds out her hand.
"Come on. It will be fun."
You take her hand, and she leads you inside the Opera House.
Lyney leads you and the duo towards the very front seats.
"We will be starting shortly," he says.
"Thank you," Lumine replies.
"Yes, thank you, Lyney and Lynnette!" Paimon adds.
Lyney smiles.
"My pleasure."
He turns and walks towards the stage.
As the trio sit down in their respective seats, Paimon speaks up.
“Uhh,” she starts, looking to her right at the man sitting in silence beside you.
“Hey, Lumine, Y/N, maybe we should strike up a conversation with the person next to us? Since we're sitting together and the rest of the place is practically empty still, it's kinda awkward if we don’t say anything.”
The man, who was previously staring blankly forward, suddenly turns his head to look at the three of you.
You, Lumine and Paimon look back.
“Excuse me, I did not realize you felt awkward. I am terribly sorry,” the man starts with his deep voice.
“I would be perfectly happy to chat with you, if that is what you would like.”
“Oh... uh... So you heard all of that, did ya? Boy, you sure have good ears, Paimon thought she was keeping her voice down,” Paimon says, once again referring to herself in the third person.
Paimon floats towards the man.
“Ah! Wait, that's not it, Paimon's sorry! Um, Paimon's the one who was being rude talking under her breath like that. Uh, so let's talk, but... uh... what should we talk about?”
You look at Paimon.
“Beat it, Paimon. This is Monsieur Neuvillette, head of Chief Justice in Fontaine.”
Lumine looks over at Paimon and shrugs.
The man looks at Paimon.
"Don't worry, I was not offended," he says.
"If anything, it is I who should apologize. I didn't realize I was sitting so close to you. My apologies."
Paimon looks a bit embarrassed.
"No, no, it's fine! Don't worry about it. You didn't do anything wrong."
“I am quite surprised to see you around here, Y/N. You are aware that this is Lyney’s magic show and not a trial, correct?”
Neuvillette turns his head and looks at you, his purplish pink eyes piercing into your own.
Paimon and Lumine look between the two of you.
Paimon leans towards Lumine.
"Do you think Y/N's in trouble or something...?"
Lumine shakes her head.
"No, I don't think so. Remember that Y/N is a champion duelist. They work with the law.”
Paimon nods.
"Yeah, yeah. Good point."
You cross your arms.
"I'm not in trouble, and I am aware this isn't a trial, I'm here accompanying the duo," you state, gesturing to Lumine and Paimon.
“Plus, Lyney and Lynnette offered free tickets. Who am I to refuse?”
Neuvillette chuckles.
"A good point," he says.
"It is nice to see a familiar face," he continues.
"Especially a friendly one."
"I would hardly call our faces 'friendly,'" you reply.
He shrugs.
"Perhaps not, but a welcome face is always a welcome face."
"Well, thanks, I guess."
He dryly chuckles.
"You are most welcome."
“And by the way, I should let you know, even though I would prefer not to,” Neuvillette starts, “there's someone sitting up there in the VIP seats that has been striking a pose for quite a while now…”
Furina giggles from up high, sitting elegantly on her throne.
“Huh? Oh, it's Furina, the Hydro Archon. She sure has a smug and satisfied look on her face. Guess she has no idea that you saw right through her act,” Paimon states.
“Ooo, ooo, look, it’s about to start! Paimon can hardly wait!”
The crowds enter the venue, and the curtains open for the show to begin.
“Oh, they’re dimming the lights! The show must be starting!”
Paimon floats around in excitement.
“Ah… Sorry. Paimon will try to stay quiet, hehe..”

Okay, one long staring-at-my-screen-for-days (yes, plural)-and-not-doing-anything-else hyper fixation over... here is my OG ASBO5 intermediate family face claims 👍
I tried to go with people that possibly could've been cast while Misfits was airing. I also added the year in which I believe the characters would be born. Some I just took from the actor's actual age, and others I just made up. (And also my age HCs for the main cast!)
First up!

The Young family... Literally, it was the only canon one of the og asbos, minus Jamie's mum, whose face I've given to Maria Doyle Kennedy. But I didn't bother to give her a name. Same with Louise's maiden name, I couldn't decide what one to give her.
(Listing the actual actors and actresses here... Minus the ASBO5 character:)
Louise Young - Michelle Fairley Mike Young - Dexter Fletcher Jamie Young - Sam Keeley Jamies Mum - Maria Doyle Kennedy
Next up...

The Bellamy family... Again! Idk. Ignore Simon's middle name cause that's really only from my insane let's torture Simon delusion daydreams that likely won't make it to the page. My Bellamy's HCs are far more thought-out than the other families here cause I've been cooking them up for about two years.
Lynnette Bellamy - Nia Roberts Victor Bellamy - Stephane Freiss Eliza Bellamy - Elle Fanning
Coming up...

The Bailey family! In my HC, Kelly's dad hasn't been around for a WHILE (had to do hard time for a good chunk of her childhood), and she hasn't seen him since she and her Mum moved to Wertham in Kelly's late teens. (Her parents got divorced around the time when she was 16.) I went with Siobhan Finneran because she plays Lauren Socha's mum in The Other One.
Gary Bailey - Frank Skinner Donna Bailey - Siobhan Finneran
(Kelly’s birthday is meant to say 1988 not 1998 lol)
Next up...

The Donovan family! I always read Curtis as either being an only child or the youngest. But out of all the male characters, he was raised right! So I couldn't help but think he had to be the only boy growing up and had plenty of sisters. As of s1-before the Christmas ep, I believe that Curtis still lived at home. His two eldest sisters have been long gone and outta the house for years (his sister Ellen is married), but his sister Amelia still lives at home while she's attending uni to save money. Curtis comes from a religious family, and his mother is a first-gen immigrant.
Nigel Donovan - Lennie James Hazel-Ann Donovan - Jacqueline Boatswain Ellen Donovan - Nikki Amuka-Bird Briana Donovan - Michele Austin Amelia Donovan - Michaela Coel
Finally...

Alisha's family! At first, I saw her as a spoiled only child or the spoiled youngest with an older brother. But I went with the only child... Well, until her parents got divorced when she was 14, her mother immediately got re-married and knocked up. Alisha ended up staying in a pretty crappy flat with her dad for the rest of her schooling until she moved in with her mates after college. She was always jealous of her sister as she felt like her mum moved up in life and replaced her... getting a do-over. Originally, I didn't plan for Alisha's parents to be so young when they had her, but once I saw Naomie Harris, I couldn't see anyone else as her mum. So now, in my HC, Alisha was a result of an accidental teen pregnancy. More candy to the trauma bowl! And taking inspo from Antonia Thomas' actual dad, I've coined Alisha's father as being an inspiring musician, but instead of being successful, he's someone who is never going to make it out of his shitty wedding cover band. Alisha has a great relationship with her dad; he has and always spoils her rotten.
Archie Daniels - Toby Stephens Teresa Marsh - Naomie Harris Lucian Marsh - David Oyelowo Ayla Marsh - Rhianna Dorris
Anyways... Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol

Hello and sorry for this but you've triggered my trap card ™️ with that Furina post.
Basically what it comes down to is that the entire demo is fake ,not because it's not real, but because it's a play!
The whole demo is a show , with Furina of Fontaine as its star, The camera follows her and rarely deviates, but it's also lying to the audience.
The first lie in the demo is to do with her title as the archon of Fontaine, as she is regaled with several titles, but her people don't respect her as much as they view her as a celebrity, someone whose only purpose is to entertain.
The second lie in the demo is the scene with Clorinde, where Furina steps up to fight an enemy that even the champion duelist herself can't handle! Of course the great hydro archon is stronger than her subordinates hahahaha! only for the enemy in question to be revealed to be a blubberbeast, on land, I don't think it's necessary to mention how harmless it is, Clorinde, being used to Furina's antics can do nothing but watch on.
We are then presented with the support actors of the play, being her three little friends, she introduces them to us but she never leaves the frame, they don't take the spotlight that easily.
in the scene where she's swinging, each swing she takes she mimics other archons, the color of the background changes to signify elements , while a character changing sound effect also plays between each swing, She swings like Nahida does in her idle animation, then she plays the lyre like Venti, she takes on the same pose as Ei when she's meditating, and lastly she throws mora for Zhongli.
Therein lies the third lie, being that she's not an archon, not really, not by archon standards anyway, even The Knave thought so, so she mimics other archons to appear like them, additionally, the scene doesn't include a part for herself, because there is no "archon" for her to mimic.
Then we see her second form, the one that has the healing creature instead of the three little animals, the creature itself is never named, it barely has some time on the screen, it's even lower than a support character, it takes the backseat while Furina attacks the enemies, as opposed to how the three little animals were shown a lot more clearly.
This is to symbolize that there are 2 Furinas(not literally) , 1 who is always in the spotlight, boisterous, bratty, showoffish, and loud, and the one that's always hidden because she's not what the first Furina is, but how much of the first is the second?and how much of the second is the first?
After that, the show within a show begins, Furina takes an even more influential role in it, becoming the director! Not only is she the most important character in the play, but she also controls it entirely,She records Charlotte, the one who's always behind the camera, creates improbable but amusing scenes of Childe being chased by melusines, Navia and her group arresting Neuvillette, Lyney's and Lynnette's places being switched, removing Freminet's helmet only to find it full of water, and Clorinde and Wriothesley having a face off.
Then we're presented with her elemental burst, in which Furina grabs the stage and literally throws it in the air, but the stage doesn't disappear, her light covers the edges of the screen, the whole world as we see it has become her stage.
The camera focuses on her as chaos rages on around her, she's having cake, then the "actors" all raise their arms together after the climactic scene, the show within a show ends, the curtains fall, and Furina and her animal friends take a bow, and a second curtain falls to end the show that was containing the one before.
Additional notes, the song that was playing at the second part of the demo is in french it's lyrics are as follows.

excellent summary of what was going on! also made me properly realise we saw Furina becoming a director, rather than an actress 6.6
Also yeah, what's up with the oceanid part of her skill? supporting actor symbolism considering there aren't any more oceanids in fontaine is interesting too
Plus the whole thing with her not being viewed as an archon properly, either by her citizens or by herself, especially considering that she didn't get a swing segment
Although, I've seen theories that the "movie scenes" (childe getting hunted by the melusines, etc)(HILARIOUS btw) are supposed to represent the previous archon quests; does this mean anything for the fact Furina literally decapitated Freminet.......
anyway, thanks for the detailed and insightful analysis! play within a video within a game, huh
#genshin impact#ask#fragrant-bastard#slightly sad for childe that it was a mind palace moment though. he would've loved it#ty for the ask!!!

Okay, maybe I won't make one BIG post. I'll do a couple of separate ones as they come to me.
First one that comes to mind of course centers around my daemons. Daemons are easy for me to talk about and everything about them comes so much more naturally and makes so much more sense.
TLDR: My daemons were precursors, and I think acted as building blocks and even the final bridge, of my endogenic plurality becoming traumagenic and my adventure into having OSDD
I do believe that I was predispositioned to plurality because of my neurodivergancy and perhaps trauma and escapism related to it. But, I don't think I realized just how close I was to being an OSDD system until my daemons started to multiply.
When I started to gain multiple daemons, I thought it made sense. I wasn't a CDD system so I didn't have alters splitting during those couple of years when I was under severe stress and almost daily trauma. I had daemons, so my daemons were splitting.
My daemons are aspects of myself. Facets almost. They are the personification of different thoughts and traits that I have. So when I needed things most, they would appear to try and fill that need. I don't think it clicked just how serious it was though until I got Lynnette.
Lynn was without a doubt the most intense daemon I had. I considered her the bulk of my subconscious. The daemon who was tired of my shit and was going to get through to me. She was brutal. She was cutthroat. She and Cayde *hated* eachother and often fought. She was the closest thing to a persecutor I had ever had.
But she also wasn't one in many ways. She never sought to hurt me or put me in danger. She realized that the ways everyone else was helping me was not actually solving anything, so she was the first one to stop playing nice. She was the embodiment of my intrusive thoughts, but she also countered them with logic. It was a really interesting dance.
But anyway, I ended up with 4 daemons who also ended up becoming what we called a daemon system. They had a single daemon persona they would take when synced together.
This daemon was named Æshe.
Which, is a CRAZY not coincidence becaus the very first member who was here because of trauma was Ashe.
But when I think back on it, yeah, my brain at the time hadn't quite reached the threshold of splitting off completely separate individuals. Alters just weren't possible yet or perhaps wasnt needed. So it was doing what it could with what it was familiar with at the time, which was using my daemons to cope. My sense of self held out as long as it could until one day it just flipped and boom, what was likely only ever C-PTSD growing up got kicked up to the next level.
I think that if I wasn't already hardwired for plurality at that point I don't think I would have developed OSDD later on in life. It wasn't a huge leap, but it still took a LOT before things trickled in from one to the next.
The headmates I had prior to my late in life trauma were from daydreams and hyperfixations. They were not tied directly to any specific or ongoing trauma. If they were, well, it was never apparent. They came and went with only minor passive influence. They behaved and felt *so* different than Ashe and the others. I cannot even describe it without doing it a disservice. But it's so potent and so obvious.
My daemons have been the most consistent mental companions. But, when the BIG STRESS happened, they disappeared. I could not reach them and if I did, they were so weak and frail that Cayde could do little more than flutter our chest (the location I associate with him) and that was it
Which makes SO much sense. Because one, yes stress and trauma and heavy dissociation and emotional disconnect will do that. But Ashe was still here and FAR more prominent than before my daemons disappeared. Which, if my daemons were tied to my sense of self and identity, then it makes sense that they disappeared when my sense of self split from that trauma. My mind did that whole fun splitting event and was in shambles while we tried to slowly recover and pick up the pieces. It took ages afterwards for me to return to my former self. But when I did, my daemons returned.
My plurality has never been the same since.

Thea: People often say they hope their deceased pet dog is chasing squirrels in doggy heaven… what did all of those squirrels do to deserve an afterlife of torment?
Quinn: Dog heaven is also squirrel hell, it’s a very efficient system.
Jez: I can’t stop laughing at the thought of squirrels sinning so much in the mortal plane that they have to be sent to squirrel hell to atone.
Mary-Lynnette: They know that the bird feeder isn’t meant for them.

The Final Girl Support Group
Grady Hendrix
Rating: 🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯 (5/5)
This book is fantastic. Everywhere that you see a review for it, you're going to see someone saying that it is a "subversion of expectations" or is "putting a spin on your classic slasher". Seeing such specific praise from so many sources will make that claim seem like a lie, but it absolutely isn't.
The Final Girl Support Group takes concepts that all horror fans are already well acquainted with - the slow-moving slasher, the virgin who has never done wrong in her life, the logics and reasonings and excuses that are baked deep into the slasher genre - and turn it all on its head in a way that is unique, entertaining, and honestly, moving. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
SUMMARY: "Like his bestselling novel The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix’s latest is a fast-paced, frightening, and wickedly humorous thriller. From chain saws to summer camp slayers, The Final Girl Support Group pays tribute to and slyly subverts our most popular horror films—movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Scream.
Lynnette Tarkington is a real-life final girl who survived a massacre. For more than a decade, she’s been meeting with five other final girls and their therapist in a support group for those who survived the unthinkable, working to put their lives back together. Then one woman misses a meeting, and their worst fears are realized—someone knows about the group and is determined to rip their lives apart again, piece by piece.
But the thing about final girls is that no matter how bad the odds, how dark the night, how sharp the knife, they will never, ever give up."
MY DETAILED REVIEW (SPOILER WARNING): Let me preface my review with a disclaimer: anytime that I say Men, as a whole, I do not mean Every Man Ever. There is always a very small fine print implied. Not all men, of course. But enough men to take notice. Enough men to be afraid. With that, enjoy.
This book took me a few days to read. I kept picking it up, getting sucked in, and then needing to put it back down for real life, which led to me forgetting just how gripping the story itself was. But every time that I picked it back up, it didn't take long at all for me to get right back into it.
Lynette's response to her trauma is one that I am uniquely familiar with. I didn't survive a massacre of any kind, but I have faced a Monster in my own right, a man that wanted nothing more than to traumatize women and make his hate known. This made it very easy to follow Lynette; and honestly, even if I didn't have that connection to her, I think the masterful writing will make her relatable to anyone.
Still, following Lynette's growth, from a woman far too scared to get close to anybody to the point that her only friend is a houseplant, to the woman who trusts people when necessary (even if they turn out to be the wrong people), to trusting her Sisters innately, even when one Sister has turned her back on the others, made for a fantastic read.
Trying to review this book is difficult, because the book is, as stated, a great read on its own, but it is also a biting commentary on misogyny and the way that hate spreads like poison. When Skye was first introduced, I absolutely loved him. I thought that he seemed like a great, if unusual, guy, and I really admired Lynette for being able to bring herself to trust in a man, even if it was a man much younger and unfamiliar to her.
To say that I was shocked when Skye was revealed to be part of the Big Bad, though, is an overstatement. Lynette's realization that he had basically given her the answers, that he admitted to having set up his mom's website, that he had essentially spelled everything out for her, was something that I hadn't considered, but also did not find shocking. Men have a tendency towards violence. It is not something engrained in them, it is not some biological or indisputable fact, but it is something that they learn. It is something that is often not discouraged, and is rather excused, if not looked fondly upon. So, to see Skye as the villain was depressing, since I did like him as a character, but it wasn't shocking.
Stephanie's reveal, on the other hand, was shocking. It was also depressing in equal measure. I had grown to love the sisterhood forged between her and Lynette, a sense of bonding and belonging between them as final girls, the type of bond Lynette could have built with her support group had she not been so afraid. To learn, though, that Stephanie had been groomed, was no surprise. Hybristophilia, hyper sexuality, and flocking towards dangerous and frightening men are common responses to severe trauma. Hell, I even have some of those trauma responses myself. Stephanie was the perfect victim for Skye. She was scared, she had been hurt by men before, and she was young. Stephanie falling for Skye was heartbreaking, and to hear her defend him in those final moments at the camp were even more so.
Though it was more of an offhand line than a big plot point, the paragraph regarding Skye's lawyers on TV is one that sticks with me. His lawyers, blaming women, blaming some 'horrible feminist agenda', saying that Skye was pushed into such actions, is exactly how such hatred spreads. That is how it takes root in young minds and that is how it vindicates men who already hold those beliefs. Despite Lynette's best efforts to ensure that there will never again be another Final Girl, Skye has now cemented himself as yet another world-famous Monster, one that will grow a fanbase of his own, who will inspire copycats and who will usher yet another Final Girl into the spotlight. Skye has cemented himself as another Billy Walker, another Christophe Volker, and Stephanie has been left behind in the dust of it all, to become another Chrissy, another Lynette, another Heather. In the end of it all, she is left behind to be a victim, too.

short book review, The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
I liked most of this a lot. The protagonist is a bunch of fun to follow around, there were some genuinely creepy bits and a couple of twists that caught me out. Unfortunately the story is let down by the very ending - the last three chapters felt half-baked.
Major spoilers after the break:
The triple twist about the killers got me. I thought I was smart for guessing it was Skye early on, but then I didn't bother thinking beyond that conclusion and was effectively sideswiped by Steph being in on it as well.
The whole finale though - from Steph driving away from a dying Lynnette, up through the arrival at Red Lake, to confronting the killers, and the final chapter - was so disappointing.
I loved that I kept finding out about the narrator's dirty secrets as the story unfolded. There was a point where I wondered if she'd been behind it.
The fakeout of Lynnette abandoning Steph at Chrissy's place fully got me and part of me wishes Hendrix had pulled the trigger on it, but it was fine that he didn't. After 3/4s of a novel spent finding out that the main character is kinda shit and useless, that would have been a fully earned twist.
The killers-using-guns subversion was deeply uninteresting - I get what Hendrix was trying to do I think, but guns don't belong in that world. They undo all the tension. I know Hendrix understands this because he explains it earlier in the story, so having the final confrontation be Lynnette running away from a dude with a machine gun felt totally out of touch. The observation the story implies is
"well why did you want a sequence full of brutal slayings, hmmm? what does that say about you? aren't you part of the problem?"
and like fuck off you know? I have a strong dislike for that kind of meta buck-passing. I'm reading the book because I enjoy spooks and grissliness, don't try and high road me about that right at the end.
Red Lake didn't feel like it made any sense as a setting for the finale either. It had little to no resonation with or meaning to the main character.
Given that Chrissy was the mirror image of Lynnette, Chrissy's murder museum would have been a better setting for a finale wouldn't it? Scream 6 ended up doing something like that two years after this book was published.
Heather was an interesting but underexplored character, and her reveal that there was probably something supernatural going on with her story was fun. Although I felt a little too spin-off baited by the last mention of her.
I'm not as down on as it as I sound. I enjoyed the book, I'm just sad that the ending was almost entirely botched because if the landing had been stuck it would have been a great story.
