a lot more than three ships: UH hm. let me think

so technically (aside from catboy ot3) all ships are rotating in my brain at all times, and it kind of depends on what thing i've become re-obsessed with at any given moment. i am on a duo of fire emblem and ace attorney eras all over again, so chrobin (both robins), ike/soren and klapollo are all on the brain. also ryukita for persona 5 since we started replaying that one recently. also flynn/yuri from tales of vesperia bc they're a very fun dynamic i like chewing on. rowan/graha/estinien just. lurks at the back of my mind at all times klhgkjh

first ship ever: percy/annabeth from the pjo books, i think? thats the oldest i can remember, bc i got into the series in middle school. for other not-first ships, i think roughly around then i was also just dabbling in ds games of all kinds. i definitely read the pokemon special/pokemon adventures manga and shipped red/yellow, and then protag/keith in the second pokemon ranger game. i wrote....so much fanfiction back then...

last song: if we're being technical it's a lofi mix i have on for work (link to my work playlist here if you want it) but otherwise, it's been XIV/genshin/star rail OSTs and a mix of ok goodnight/casey lee williams the edge and fall out boy's so much for stardust album, though really it's the first two songs

last movie: UHHHHH i think the most recent indiana jones movie? my dad took me for my birthday last month, hehe. NO WAIT IT WAS BARBIE the barbie movie was good

currently reading: unfortunately i dont read books all that much any more, and mostly the same for fics. i guess this is the time to give me book recs?

currently watching: well, nothing really TV show wise, though i was hoping to maybe start a rewatch of the first few arcs of fairy tail. we'll see. i mostly watch youtube nowadays, and usually it's a combination of channels. playframe happens to be my favorite (nice and varied playthrough content, but also just a really nice husband/wife duo that plays things together and with their friends). i also enjoy studson studio since i want to do more diorama building and he's the one that got me interested in it :)

currently consuming: ough sweet tarts and a ginger ale technically speaking, im like a zombie at work today and hoping the sour and bubbly will keep me awake @_@ but i did have a nice yoghurt and croissant for breakfast (i promise i eat normal meals and i just happen to be snacking rn fldkjgh)

currently craving: the comfort of my bed bc i have an extremely terminal case of sleepy bitch disease

I know Jack and Maddie's relationship in canon is probably MEANT to be seen--depending on the episode--as a pretty bog-standard, 2000s-era "idiot big dad and exasperated, smart wife who puts up with him" trope.

BUT

my personal favorite interpretation is that BOTH are equally genius engineers who are also equally on the autistic spectrum, with a specific hyperfixation on ghosts and mad science.

The main difference is that Maddie has siblings and female social expectations, so she had to learn how to mask in ways that are seen as sociable and polite and attractive and "smart." When she does bumble major social cues (such as not recognizing Vlad's flirting until Danny points it out decades later, or humiliating her kids by showing up in a hazmat suit at school), it feels more "socially acceptable" from her.

She genuinely loves Jack because he could not care less about her being Feminine or Socially Acceptable. He just wants to shout with her about ghosts! So the nanosecond she's around him she can yank the mask off and go chasing spirits with a toaster turned into a machine gun.

With the graphic novel coming out soon and people creeping back into the Danny Phandom after... a while... I’ve seen a couple posters wondering how a very NOT-transgender guy like Butch came up with a character with such powerful, universal trans energy. And while some of that answer is “Nicktoons were your childhood favorite and you’re trans,” I feel like it’s important to note that the initial concept art for Danny has NONE trans swag. None whatsoever.

Look at this guy. This guy disrespects women. This guy uses Axe body spray to cover up the fact that he hasn’t showered in two weeks. This guy talks about crossfit and supports Trump.

The transgender swag was a gradual bimbofication that was brought to us by the concept art of artists such as Bob Boyle and character designers like Stephen Silver. (Also Shannon Tindle, Ernie Gilbert, Erik Wiese, Ray Angrum, Chris Graham, Ian Graham... Look, there’s a LOT of people that draw a cartoon.)

Thinking about how in r/relationship and r/AITA stories, when people’s friends suddenly confess their love to someone in a relationship the consensus of how to deal with it is 1) tell your partner immediately and 2) cut all contact with that person.

And then rotating how Maddie did the exact opposite of that at the end of Maternal Instincts (Telling Danny not to tell Jack, letting Jack invite Vlad into the house and even helping bring him herself in MOAT) like hmmmmm. Especially after she pulled the ‘I changed my mind’ ruse to get access to Vlad’s phone. Like she has to know that would just egg him on further as far as the flirting goes, but beyond physically harming him for with the hot tea and stuff, she doesn’t actually seem take any measures to really distance herself from him or even just tell Jack what happened

And like part of it is Doyalist— they can’t have fun Jack & Vlad interactions or the more personal/human side Vlad and Danny interactions if Vlad is immediately banned from the house after that episode, but it can also be read on a ‘Maddie actually does value Vlad’s friendship and wants his company even if she doesn’t want his affections’ type of thing and that’s something I kind of wish I saw more of.

Or it could be a fun set up for Family Breakfast. (Always love more of my favorite DP ship lol) Like Maddie not being opposed exactly, whether it’s actual interest or just ‘he has a lot of money and that could be beneficial’, but refusing to leave Jack for it and trying to get the two into repairing their relationship by broaching the subject of a triad with a very obviously pining Jack and manipulating Vlad into coming over for her and forcing him to spend time with Jack too in ways the boys use to enjoy hanging out together. Making him sit in the middle while they watch the Packers or going to a concert and dipping out/ moving to the side when the two start really getting into the music. But also curtailing some of Jack’s more enthusiastic actions that just make Vlad angry (no more weird/awkward Vlad merch like the underwear or the hat thing) or keeping him from trying to go to fast on the romance front

"Oh man, you have it bad." Maddie laughs.

“Maddie.” A voice interrupts them. 

Maddie's entire body freezes as she hears that dreaded voice. Eddie immediately notices her discomfort and moves himself to be in between the strange man and her. Maddie slowly turns around. "Doug... what are you doing here?" She asks.

Eddie tenses. So this was Maddie’s asshole ex. He glares at the man as Maddie takes a step back and hides herself behind Eddie.

“You changed your number,” he says.

“I-”

“You don’t have to answer to this asshole, Mads,” Eddie says, cutting her off. 

Doug raises an eyebrow.

“And you the fuck are you?” Doug asks, standing up to his full height. 

Eddie scoffs. “None of your damn business.”

“It is when you’re hanging out with my wife.”

“She’s not your wife anymore,” Eddie says. 

“She’s mine.” 

“She is not yours,” Eddie growls, stepping closer to Doug.

Doug swings at Eddie catching him under the jaw.

Anon I know you're trying to be mean but a) I have no shame about how many Elena verses I have, that's my Girl, and b) I am so delighted to be able to talk about the one verse on that list that has nothing to do with Elena Gilbert, that's why I put it there! So thank you!

"I am willing to take more hurt if it's from you" is a project I've been working on for so long and I'm finally making some real progress on it which feels amazing! It's my Alison DiLaurentis/Aria Montgomery (Pretty Little Liars) fic that is supposed to be as canon based as possible, just using the subtext between the two characters to create a story where Alison and Aria were secretly hooking up before Alison disappeared.

Instead of giving you the full pitch on why they make sense as a ship (and why they are basically canon, or at least Alison having feelings for Aria is) I'll just refer to a post where I went off in the tags about them because it says pretty much everything I would say about it here: this post.

In summary: When Alison asked Aria if she knew why she picked her, the answer is: Ali's obsessed with Aria.

The premise of the story would be Alison and Aria's relationship being Rosewood's best kept secret, then when the liars discover Alison has been alive all this time, Aria feels compelled to confess what happened between them all those years ago in order to get ahead of Alison and prevent her from using that to alienate her from the other girls. (Alison is still Alison, I have no interest in changing that.) It's the girls' reaction to that as well as an exploration of Aria and Alison as characters. And maybe Ezra really is A but that might just be implied we'll see.

Between Jake, Ezra, and her first love’s girl-Jesus resurrection, Aria’s love life has never been more complicated, and that’s like, really saying something.
