Keith Fields and his wife, The Lady Sarah, are award-winning performers, each in their own right. They co-chair the Contest Committee for the I.B. M. and also host their own weekly productions of “The Magic Soiree” that features not only their magic, but that of local magicians as well.

As we enter the season of magic conventions, it is not too late to consider preparing an act for competition. This week Keith Fields and Lady Sarah offer great ideas, tips, advice, and perspectives on getting your act together for a contest. Keith also shares ideas from his own award-winning act on the reasons that you should consider competing. Keith and Sarah also perform their own weekly show, “The Magic Soiree” near Detroit, Michigan, and share ideas on how you can find venues to present your act on a regular basis in your own town.

BEHOLD A Magical girl Lucky au!

As in the magical mode Lucky gets their own pair of ears and tail! O

"Real" Frankie is their magical companion that prefers to turn to human when not summoned and stalks his "chosen one" in their off duty daily life.

There are two modes for their magical form -

the Monster F. form that is their battlefield mode where their glows turn to bug clawed hands that they box the evil off from their enemies, and with the help of the strings that are around their legs and hands they're able to jump up high and jack-o-box the punches at the enemies. The only side effect is the sudden rage and annoyance Lucky gets.

The second form is Cartoon Frankie (whatever that means...) that works as ultimate or super power mode. Lucky goes insane and their eyes change, as if they're possessed or have another voice of someone in their head. The ribbons are ready to spring at any moment and their skirt is gone for better manoeuvre, the glows are big and sharp and they got a second pair of arms that hardly listen to them.

Magical guardian Py!! This is my magical girl sona design ✨

This is the page I drew when finalizing the concept and to serve as reference, but I plan to draw this design a lot more to represent myself! The little fox there is a little magical mascot/familiar based on an imaginary friend I made when I was little kid. I got some more notes about my process below!

A few years back I made a magical girl outfit design for myself because I love magical girl stories and designs, and you can do whatever you want forever! I HIGHLY recommend that anybody who feels comfortable depicting themselves to make a sona based around something you absolutely love. It's a lot of fun!!! I think at this point this design has gone through about 4 main iterations? I expect more tweaks in the future because I always like to have a design that reflects me and currently this is what I'm really vibing with! Tweaking this took SUCH a long time to get to something I really love right now, so this really feels like a triumph. When I set out to design this, I had created a bit of a wishlist of aesthetics and other elements I wanted, and then it was a matter of balancing everything visually and making some choices to remove and heavily tweak aspects of it so it wouldn't be too cluttered or lose visual harmony. I also played around with the lengths of different parts of the outfit for visual interest.

In this design are a few nods to some magical girl designs I still really love, but in recent time I feel like there's been a bit more inspiration from european renaissance fashion seeping in because I've been dabbling into period accurate costuming! Now, it's not at ALL accurate in this design but that's not really the point; I just wanted to give the sleeves and breeches that extra poof 👌 The rest of it just just really self indulgent, like the big butterfly wing cape was an ABSOLUTE must for me. My favourite colour is featured prominently. I wanted the inner wings and bow to look like the night sky or kind of galactic so that all those sparkles would really show up and evoke stars, but the orange pinks on other elements of the outfit compliment the blue-greens and give the look and overall sunset/sunrise at twilight vibe.

Oh, you know. Just the Bad Decision Duo making some bad decisions in the name of one-upmanship. Like always.

One very brief pepper-eating contest later…

They end up bedridden for a whole week after that, and grounded by their horrified parents for even longer. Doesn't stop Bow from bragging about the win, though, even into the present day. Dedede tries his very best to pretend it never happened (and steers clear of ghost peppers from then on).

**Suffice to say, they are dummies, and children, and fictional characters. Please do not try this at home.**

Design Concept made for the contest promoted by the game Harry Potter Magic Awakened 😊

🔸 Is the first time I participate in a contest, I must say the game has a good method to play and the illustrations of the characters, atmosphere and effects are really amazing and gave me a lot of ideas.

🔸 It was funny work in this long process, my design got inspired by the nurse Poppy Pomfrey, and I wanted to create outfits for a duet of students carring for the healthy of other members of Hogwarts 🩺🪄
