Malcator, I was curious of your relationship with Elesh Norn and Vorinclex. You seem very strongly allied with Jin-Gitaxias with your work in his sphere and was also curious if you had any insight to the dynamics between those three praetors, since you are in contact with at least Norn and Gitaxias.
I may be in contact with Norn, but I hardly work under her, as much as she may pretend to hold sway over the march of Progress. I was chosen by Jin-Gitaxias to ensure our faction's adherence to the Gitaxian Standards of Purity, and it is a station I hold with utmost seriousness.
Jin-Gitaxias and Elesh Norn have what may generously be called a "business relationship." Toward that group of fanatics, our Progress Engine has for now adopted a stance of strategic tolerance. Let Norn and her worshippers stumble blindly toward a future that shall never be theirs, and let them believe us their servants for now. Though our current position is less than optimal, the Progress Engine will at least pick up the remnants of their failure and refine them into tools of synthesis.
Now, Vorinclex...
There is no good place to start. Under Norn we are nominally allies, but Jin-Gitaxias and Vorinclex have... history. Centuries of it. Suffice to say the slobberings of Vorinclex's beasts are just as painful to witness as Norn's dogma, though Jin-Gitaxias certainly pursues factional relations with a greater degree of enthusiasm. It is not my place to determine if this bodes well.

In May 2022 I participated in a contest for a zine (my first ever time to do it, so it took some courage) but months passed and it was radio silence from them. (I wrote a LV coffee AU that I don’t remember its name)
I posted it on ao3 in Jan 2023 bc wtv I thought that it didn’t matter anymore but not much later they messaged me telling me I was one of the winners. After that they were supposed to get back to me with corrections and apparently they were gonna illustrate it.
Weeellll that was in March of 2023, almost a year ago. Since then, nothing again.
But just a few days ago they said the zine is still on and that the winners are now allowed to post their fics.
I guess I did it a bit ahead of time but wtv. Perhaps the zine may one day see the light but my fic has been posted for a while.

My headcanon for the aftermath of New Phyrexia being cut off from the greater Multiverse: now that Norn and Jin as figureheads have fallen, the Phyrexian rebels can gain an upper hand, and the Machine Orthodoxy's dominion quickly falls apart.
Urabrask is reassembled by his followers, and Sheoldred escapes her own execution as she always does, by breaking into a swarm of spiders (...seriously, did Norn really think decapitation would kill a rival who can spontaneously become spiders?) Vorinclex, too, is probably alive seeing as he's survived literal skeletonization, and losing his head is nothing in comparison (and he's known to be able to both reattach lost parts and grow new ones in very short order).
Jin's surviving children are taken in either by the rebels or by the remnants of the Progress Engine, now led by Unctus and Malcator. They continue attempting to perform their experiments, but without a Mirran populace to conduct them on, and an increasingly powerful faction of rebels fighting back against them, they make little headway.
The thanes may very well continue feuding as they always do, and the Hunter's Maze will go on culling the weak as their main philosophy, but overall Phyrexia will be far freer than ever before. The people will have no choice but to come together and rebuild, and diversification accelerates. For the first time that these Phyrexians have known in their eternal lives, there is hope.

Phyrexian Headcanon
Personal headcanon that the stupid "signal lost" thing that killed all the invading phyrexians all over the planes was only for the newer phyrexians, while the older ones that we hear about and see from new phyrexia and other places (malcator, and other named pholks specifically) were perfectly fine, possibly on other planes, or just doin their own thing still on phyrexia

Is Malcator’s relationship to Jin-Gitaxias more of a “henchman who I trust to not screw things up, but are still just another henchman” or more of a “my prodigal creation who I trust and value the thoughts of”?
I don't think any Phyrexian is particularly attached to any other, for the most part. I think Jin-Gitaxias would view Malcator are more 'this is my most competent assistant'.

Is Malcator available for conversation?
If you insist, outsider, but the march of Progress waits for no one. My task as Jin-Gitaxias's chief overseer of purity has only grown more crucial as the invasion proceeds, as I examine any material which finds its way back through the Omenpaths into New Phyrexia proper. So little of it properly approaches Gitaxian standards. The eventual dissemination of the Great Synthesis into the larger Multiverse may be a glorious task, but it is also an immense logistical coordination. -Malcator

Note
Can you confirm that Malcator is nonbinary?
He is not. Here's his blurb from the original Planeswalker's Guide:
He is the head of the executors of the Great Synthesis. He is in charge of determining what is deemed abomination and what is deemed ideal as per the scientific edicts and illumined scriptures of Jin-Gitaxias. The executors are interpreters of Scripture and executors of his will. They oversee all flesh created by the other sectives and make certain it adheres to the Gitaxian Standards of Purity.

What are the "rules" for Vehicles without crew? What determines if something is a Vehicle or a "normal" artifact with an ability that makes it a creature? What's the difference between Weather light Completed and Malcator's Eye?
There are no set rules other than it has to be an equivalent hoop to spending mana.

There's a frog-themed Midweek Magic this week where you make a historic brawl deck with any cards (even ones you don't own) and you get two emblems. One is a gimmicky sacrifice ability-manipulation thing, and the other is THIS FUCKER
Tumblr media
So obviously, everyone is stuffing their decks with frogs and changelings to take advantage of this absurd cost reduction effect. Except they're not. It seems like everyone except me is stupid and is playing a regular historic brawl deck that just happens to have a frog commander, and they're all getting stomped by my pile of frogs, lead by Grolnok to make sure I never run out of frogs to cast.
This is the first time I've ever done well in a constructed event
btw @thatonebjp you probably want to get in on this if you haven't already. If you'd like to jump right in, here's my decklist to copy for importing:
