Sailor Moon SuperS: Chibi-Usa, it was wrong of you to express your wish for your mysterious friend/love interest to reveal anything about himself to you, such as his real name, or why your nightly conversations with him must remain a secret from your loved ones. He is totally justified in punishing you for "not believing in" him by cutting off all contact with you until you agree to his terms again.
Me: Hmm. I don't know if I necessarily agree with–
Sailor Moon SuperS: Nevertheless, the status quo has been reestablished so you are forgiven. Now, make out with this horse.

do you have any headcanons for the ggy trio?
Tysm for asking this aughhhh
I'm only gonna go over Greg in relation to the other two because Gregory alone I talk about headcanons for a lot, and he's included in the post about the 3 star fam headcanons. So yeah
I just made a separate post for my sorta headcanons for GGY specifically, which you can find here.
Greg was a really good friend before being glitchtrapped. He was during it, too, but that was Rab playing an act. He's a super sweet kid, despite everything
Greg would give Tony his own pocket money sometimes. "I get a lot of it, and you need it more than me." Tony didn't like to accept it, but Gregory is a persistent person.
Greg would always help Ellis with the arcades he wasn't very good at. "I learned this strat, actually...."
Gregory would get them both snacks and sneak them under the desks in class, the trio eating them when the teacher wasn't watching. This was especially the case if Ellis seemed less hyper in class or Tony was particularly quiet.
Gregory was extremely helpful and kind with Tony when his dad got locked up. He was there for him. Ellis is better at lightening the mood, but Gregory is good at real comfort and supportive words
They're all there for each other. Gregory fights when people pick on his friends, which is rare-ish-- they don't really get bullied-- but it still happens, and Greg gets hurt. He gets anxious. But then Ellis and Tony are there. Tony's awful attempts at comfort make Gregory laugh, while Ellis is naturally good at making people smile
The trio balances each other out perfectly, and it makes things easier in school! Sometimes, Tony needs to lighten up and see the bigger picture. Sometimes, Gregory needs to relax and take things slower. Sometimes, Ellis needs to be brought back to earth a little.
Ellis has a pretty normal life. He doesn't have any particular bad shit going on, only the losing his two besties thing in the case of canon. His home life is okay, though; he has a caring mother and a little sister he enjoys taking care of, despite her attitude sometimes-- It's small, and it's nice. His dad is usually away at work, but he finds time for his family.
Ellis has as much monty merch as he can possibly get, but he insists on winning it himself at the Plex instead of just finding it on amazon or whatever.
Tony's secret opinion on Ellis would be so heartbreaking for him. Ellis would be devastated to find Tony doesn't like his silly side. It'd drive him away, "Wow, man. Okay. I'll find new friends, you can have Greg all to yourself. Enjoy it."
If Gregory knew about it, he would side with Ellis. He'd be angry, but also try to help Tony loosen up. "Hey, you don't have to be super mature yet. You're so young. Trust me, you should enjoy being a kid before you force yourself to grow up. Being forced into growing up sucks, I promise." Tony would hate the fact that it sounds like he's talking from experience.
Tony loves music! His dad liked music, and he could play guitar, so Tony likes music and wants to learn to play. He also wants to learn piano. He learned like 2 meme songs on piano to impress people in music class and almost got detention (tryhard)
Tony listens to music mainly at the moment. He wants to learn to write songs. He doesn't wanna be a songwriter-- He's still set on investigative journalism. It's just a hobby
He'd write lemon demon type shit mixed with like uhhh. Idk. Less silly, more serious stuff. Imagine Cabinet Man, but it's about an arcade controlling a person, and it's slower and more ominous sounding (the GGY song)
He listens to songs his dad likes, often. Reminds him of him. He misses him every day, and it's a way of escaping. He usually listens to music late at night, and he thinks... just thinks.
Gregory is the one who got Tony into cheesy 80s music instead of mf. The Clash and The Cure, which his dad likes. "Should I stay or should I.... Nah. Listen to this." He hands the phone back and it's playing Material Girl
Speaking of, Gregory loves 80s music! Ellis loves hard rock and punk music. They really do reflect their glamrock faves in terms of favourite music genre!
They'd have a collab playlist that they can all add music to, and Gregory always quietly adds things he thinks are funny. Tony got 'How Bad Can I Be' blasting in his ears one day and turned to see Gregory and Ellis giggling away nearby.
Gregory adds real songs. Some really good ones. But then he also adds it's raining tacos 60 times. They played it on a speaker once, and when it's raining tacos started playing, Gregory turned it up so it blasted through the cafeteria. All 3 of them got detention
The trio definitely snuck into a show at the Pizzaplex. Yeah, two of them can afford it, but what's the fun in paying? And it's from there that Tony was obsessed with Bonnie. It's the one thing at the Plex he can't pretend he doesn't find childish
Tony has been trying to forget it. He's too old for all that. But he just loves the characters despite everything. He'd start going into how he can like the glamrocks because he researched glam rock, while Gregory and Ellis don't really care-- "Yeah I looked into Glam Rock. It's like. A part of queer history. It's important haha. and I can look into its influence. Okay? It's normal and fine and mature." And they're just like "??? Okay???"
Greg's favourite is Freddy, Tony's is Bonnie, and the duo are super close. Ellis isn't stupid. He definitely thought they were gonna end up together or something; even if they weren't gonna end up like that or anything, Ellis is a huge tease
They all tried cooking once! Tried. Tony isn't a bad cook at 14, but he's an awful, terrible cook at 12. Ellis can't cook at all, and Gregory can only bake (at age 12, also badly).
No matter what they're making, Ellis manages to make slime every time. His favourite to cook is spaghetti and the pasta is always mushy, the sauce always thick as hell with not enough meat... It's slime. Tastes nice, with the worst texture of all time. Despite that, the boys like it anyway. When Tony's sad Ellis is like right. Dude. I'm making you my slimy spaghetti surprise rn
Greg would bake them all cookies at the weekends they work on school projects! They're usually slightly too hard or too soft, but they taste okay.
Ellis helped one time and the cookies became slime. "Oh my God Greg. Who made these, Ellis?" "Uhmmmm excuse me you're doubting the master chef of the three musketeers?" "He helped."
Greg got extremely, scarily good at baking that one September before he and Tony went missing (Afton/the Mimic can really cook apparently!)
The trio has a Minecraft server, owned by Gregory. Tony builds actual houses and stores, Ellis builds really huge complex things like farms and redstone contraptions + traps, and Gregory builds sometimes like Tony, but is shockingly good at it. He builds megabases. But he also starts a million things he never finishes, accidentally breaks things, causes chaos (usually along with Ellis), buries Tony or moves him while he's AFK, and /kills everything.
Ellis and Gregory built a dangerous labyrinth, and Greg teleported Tony to the centre of it. He's in spectator mode with Ellis, watching Tony struggle and constantly respawn in the maze while he complains. "MF GIVE BACK MY CREATIVE PERMS???" "Seek the exit, and your desires will be met." (leaves vc)
If Tony ever gets genuinely annoyed by their antics, Greg usually builds him something as an apology because he feels really bad about it.
And uhh that's all for now! I could probably come up with more eventually, but these ones have been on my mind abkshduhdjd
Thanks for the ask!

You love WordGirl and Octonauts as a kid too?! 🤩
Tumblr media
HELL YEAH!!!! (Me rambling down below)
Wordgirl is one of the first few superheroes (alongside Super Why and some Spiderman) that were one of my first few exposures of the superhero genre! And one of my favourite shows too! Also I keep seeing some Wordgirl clips appearing in my YouTube timeline every now and then c:
Loved Becky/Wordgirl! Defining words is what I love - especially now! Me being one of the few kids in Language Arts excited for defining a word project that one time
My favourite villains were (in no particular order):
The Energy Monster (I remember her debut episode I think the most as I type)
Chuck the Evil Sandwich-Making Guy (I still remember the password episode as a kid, it was iconic to me!)
Lady Redundant Woman
The Birthday Girl
Dr. Two Brains (Funny two brain man-mouse ALSO LORE????)
Tobey
Whammer
Miss Question
Butcher
Mr. Big & Leslie
Granny May (Best villain Granny ever! I take no substitutes!)
Tumblr media
As for Octonauts, it’s one of the three shows I look for animals (the other two being Wild Kratts and Stanley I think that’s the name, it’s an old show I watched on Disney Jr)! I remember when they first appeared on Treehouse
My favourites is the main trio - Captain Barnacles, Peso and Kwazii! Loved the team too! Also the Vegimals are so cute!!! And the Gups (I think that’s the vehicles they drive) looked awesome!!! I wanted to drive/ride in them as a kid! (Preferably Kwazii’s - the orange shark - and the cup that looked like an angler fish if that makes sense!)
My favourite episodes? Man it’s been so long, and I only remember some from memory- like the Lemon Shark, the Sea Snake, and the blobfish.
Though I will say that I have two specials I remember fondly: The Very Vegimal Christmas, and the Amazon Adventure!!! Especially the latter!
Man, I gotta catch up on the new episodes and specials I missed out on! So many new creatures and apparently there’s a new version of the show on the land now???

Hi! I'm reading your works since long time and today is the first time I turned anon off to request something. Can I have RFA + minor trio as MC's best friends helping her to pick her wedding dress? Thank you. Love you and stay healthy please
RFA + Minor Trio as MC's best friends helping her to pick her wedding dress
Ahhhh please tell me what you requested as an anon! I am soooo curious!! AND I was crying while writing this, like, someone else is marrying her except the RFA, Rip….I will make it a bit sad cause it’s their POV and I think it’s the first time I am doing something like this, yes? Please tell me if you like it, OKAY? love youuuuu
Tumblr media
Jumin
I sat on the white couch as white dresses surrounded me.
Four years had passed since Mc joined the RFA and four years had passed since I found out that the woman I fell in love with was engaged to a man who didn’t deserve her.
She was so beautiful; too beautiful for him, well, not that she was perfect for me. Even for me she was way too beautiful, but I was sure that I knew how to treat her well.
,,Jumin,’’ she called. Her soft voice was music in my ears as she made me look up.
Back then, I should have confessed my feelings, but on the other hand, if I would have told her that I loved her and liked her more than just a best friend, today I wouldn’t be able to sit here…
,,Yes?’’ I asked her, smiling at her. She looked stunning. This was her fourth dress and each one looked good on her, but this one… this one was her dress.
,,Are you okay? You’re so red… did you drink too much champagne?’’ she asked me and chuckled.
I smiled back and nodded. I couldn’t tell her that right now I wished to be the groom.
,,This one… is your dress,’’ I whispered.
Mc looked around and watched her reflection. ,,I hope he likes it,’’ she mumbled and suddenly teared up. ,,I’m really becoming a bride,’’ she smiled.
She was so happy.
,,He will love it. You’re the perfect bride,’’ I whispered and put her veil on her hair.
Zen
Nervously, I began to fumble with my fingers as I waited for Mc to come out of the room.
My best friend’s wedding. Was it bad that I wished to be the groom and not the friend I was being right now?
,,You’re the best at this,’’ she said. The fitting room was keeping us apart as she said these words.
,,You look so good, have style, and you know what men like,’’ she laughed.
I smiled at her, but didn’t answer.
Mc stepped out in a white big dress with a lot of glitter, her shoulders free with little flowers all over the dress.
She looked at herself in the mirror and she wasn’t looking happy. ,,This one? I think he likes big clothes more,’’ she mumbled.
,,I want to look good for him,’’ she kept on saying.
Couldn’t you feel this for me?
,,This looks good, but if you were more confident in it, he would like it better… Shall we try something different? Maybe a mermaid dress,’’
Mc nodded as she took the dress. The woman helped her to change again and when she finally stepped out, I felt as if the air was missing in the room.
My heart began to beat quicker as I watched her eyes glow. This was her dress. ,,I should take you with me for shopping… This is it. I will take this dress,’’ she said and smiled thankfully at me.
At least she was happy...
Yoosung
,,Woah. This is a luxurious shop, isn’t it…?’’ I asked her and gasped as she walked in front of me.
,,Yes, he made an appointment here. Like I said, he was supposed to come but couldn’t and since you are my best friend… I thought I could take you with me to show you how difficult these things are,’’ she laughed.
I smiled. She was so happy…
A woman approached us and explained a few things before I was asked to sit down and wait for her.
The first dress was a mermaid one. It was looking good on her, but it wasn’t what she was looking for.
The next one was one with long sleeves. It was stunning, but too warm for a wedding in summer... and then she stepped out.
The most beautiful Cinderella dress; the heart shaped neckline was filled with glitter and my mouth was left open when I saw her.
It was a ball gown wedding dress, at least that was what the lady told us.
Mc’s lips began to tremble. ,,It’s my dress, it’s the dress….’’ she whined and looked at me.
I got up, took the crown on the table, and put it on her head.
For a short moment, I could feel her soft hair.
,,You look like a perfect princess. That’s your dress,’’ I agreed with her.
Jaehee
I watched my best friend as she looked at all those dresses.
,,I bet everything will look good on you,’’ I smiled at her.
,,Mh, I don’t know what theme I should go for,’’ she whined and began to fumble with her hands.
I rubbed her back and asked her to sit back and close her eyes instead.
,,Okay, now try not to open your eyes and try this dress on,’’ I told her.
In my opinion, the best dress for her was a vintage one that was not completely white, but not beige either.
It would have puffy sleeves, embroidered flowers, and patterns on her dress.
She did as I said as I sat on the couch and waited for her to finish.
As soon as she stepped out, I had to gasp for air. She looked so beautiful.
,,Okay, open your eyes now,’’ I told her.
Her reaction was just like mine.
She looked at herself in the mirror and then turned her eyes to me.
,,You know me the best,’’ she nodded and began to laugh happily, spinning around and humming her wedding song.
Saeyoung
,,I could have ordered a few dresses from Amazon,’’ I joked and watched her.
She rolled her eyes as she ruffled my hair and walked along the racks full of clothes.
This shop was… kind of creepy. There were so many dresses at once…
,,Ya, this is scary. Can’t we go eat instead?’’ I asked her again.
,,If you don’t shut up, I will try on some dresses for six hours,’’ she hissed at me.
God no… but I figured that this would be a hard fight, especially because everything looked good on Mc…
,,Too short,’’ I commented, making her agree with me.
,,Too long,’’ I said when she stepped out.
,,Is that too puffy?’’ she asked me, making me nodd.
,,Gosh, you look- please take it off!’’ I laughed when she showed me the dress she was wearing. She was laughing so hard that she was almost crying.
Two hours later, she sat on the couch with me, her legs up on the footrest and her head on her seat.
,,I should just get married in jeans?’’ she joked.
,,Maybe naked?’’ I told her and looked at her face.
Suddenly, I saw the dress and made her try on a dress one last time.
From the fitting room, I could already hear that the dress was a good choice and as soon as I saw her, I knew that I was right.
,,If I could bring you to a space station, I would marry you immediately…’’ I whispered. However, she never heard the words I had said.
Saeran
I walked next to Mc, who couldn’t stop smiling.
Three days had already passed since her now fiancé asked her to marry him.
The wedding wasn’t supposed to be until March next year, but she still wanted to get her dress now.
I thought back on how she asked me to come with her. ,,You are my best friend, of course you have to come with me!’’ she whined.
And so I did.
But I wasn’t sure if a best friend had these thoughts and feelings I had.
I was hoping that maybe she would realize that I would miss her terribly once she was married.
,,I will try this one on,’’ she told me, making me look up.
I nodded and saw her disappearing into a fitting room.
,,Are you the groom?’’ the lady asked me and asked me to sit down.
I was too puzzled to answer, but my answer wasn’t even needed since Mc was quicker than me. ,,No,’’ she giggled, ,,he’s my best friend. He’s almost like a brother to me,’’ she responded and came out.
A second lady in the dress shop had to help her because the dress was so big.
I observed her. She was in a totally white dress and maybe I also blushed because my cheeks felt so hot…
,,It’s not my style,’’ she mumbled and looked at the glitter.
,,I think that you look good in it. You look like a princess,’’ I gasped.
Mc laughed and shook her head. ,,It’s not THAT dress, you know?’’ and as quickly as she came out, she entered the fitting room once again.
She came out with a dress fifteen times more before she finally found her dress.
And indeed, all the other dresses didn’t mean anything as soon as I saw her in the one she was currently wearing.
,,That’s the one,’’ we both said at the same time, out of breath.
Jihyun
In the two years I was rehabilitating Saeran, Mc found her happiness.
Of course, I didn’t expect her to wait for me without knowing if I would be back or not, but maybe deep in the bottom of my heart, I hoped that she would wait for me and that I wouldn’t be in my position today, but in the position of the groom.
But now I couldn’t change the fact and I just had to go with it.
She was so happy after all…
,,What do you think of that?’’ she asked me.
I pressed my lips together. She did look good in that dress, but this wasn’t it… it wasn’t her dress.
,,Good, but not your dress,’’ I said honestly and observed her as she spinned her body in front of the mirror two times.
,,You’re right. I am so lucky that I brought you, my best friend, my photographer, and my biggest supporter,’’ she laughed and went back to change.
I crossed my legs and waited for her to come out.
Yes, I also was her photographer. This was my wedding present.
Suddenly, Mc came out again with a long dress. The sleeves were a bit longer and the dress was totally white with a little bit of glitter at the bottom of the dress.
The heart shaped neckline shown on her chest in the most beautiful way and as if she wasn’t pretty enough, the lady gave her a crown and the veil.
Mc looked at me and she was already tearing up.
I imagined how it would look to take a picture of her in nature. She looked perfect.
,,This… this is perfect. It’s as if it was made for you,’’ I told her.
Mc nodded and bit on her lips. ,,Yes, it’s the one…’’ she said and looked so happy…
Vanderwood
We walked towards the second boutique when Mc suddenly turned her body towards me and smiled.
,,You know, I never expected you to come with me today, I’m so happy!’’ she laughed and entered the shop.
,,Of course!’’ I laughed a bit louder, ,,you asked me after all…’’ I shook my head and opened the door to follow her.
Like the other shop, this one was filled with clothes and a little couch in front of a mirror.
,,Hello, welcome, how can I help you?’’ the shop assistant said. Honestly, this was the dumbest thing I heard that day. What else would we search in a wedding dress shop, but yeah, she was just doing her job…
,,Hello, thank you for having us, I’m searching for a wedding dress for my wedding. The wedding will be held in…’’ Mc started to give the details as I walked through the shop.
Honestly, this all would probably look good on her, but even though people wouldn’t think that about Mc, she was so picky…
,,Here we go again. I would like a glass of champagne, and I think you’ll need two,’’ I joked and made her laugh.
,,Aish, stop teasing me!’’ she laughed and changed into one of the four dresses she chose.
We were quicker - fortunately- and even found her dress.
,,The sleeves and the shape the dress gives you, is perfect,’’ I gasped as I saw her in the mermaid dress.
She wet her lips and looked herself into the mirror. Then she walked towards me and took the champagne I was drinking.
I smirked. What was she doing?
,,Yes, this is my dress,’’ she nodded and laughed.
,,Thank you, Vandy…’’ she whispered and walked towards the fitting room to get changed again...

a mutual said they might watch buffy and thats making me insane so here are reasons to watch buffy:
-very fun campy vampire show but it has AMAZING writing and the contrast between its fun episodes and its serious ones is chefs KISS
-i am gay for every woman on the show, faith and miss calendar especially
-buffy does nOt suffer from annoying main character syndrome she is the heart and soul of the show and u will fall in love with her
-buffy x giles father daughter relationship has fixed all my daddy issues
-i relate too much to oz
-actually rlly good lesbian rep esp considering its from the 90s!!!!! its on par with rep from today which is either rlly good for buffy or really bad for todays shows but yeh lesbian main couple who cant kiss for a season but once they can they dooo boyyyyy, one of them is from the main trio of friends and theyre both WITCHES!!! LESBIAN WITCHES!!!!
-very funny
-og bella and edward seriously i think stephanie meyer copied angel and buffy like note for note except they have a way healthier relationship
-ethan rayne the evil bisexual icon
-spike and dru!! goth + punk bisexual solidarity!! spike is so gnc i love him and he has the evil villain who becomes annoying neighbour arc
-buffy is not afraid to get WEIRD on u and i think thats great <3 (specifically talking about the cheese man :) )
-idk if its a controversial opinion, it depends on ur fave characters, but i think it has a great ending that wraps it up so well whilst still like not being an ending? like its the end of the show but its just another day of defeating the big bad for them and i rlly like that, they have an apocalypse every season so it rlly is just like we did it! whats next and i love that 🥺 we dont need cheesy flashforwards where they all have kids
-anyway pls watch it its amazing and if u cant be bothered with pirating its on amazon prime

you guessed it...another round (unfortunately) of BoB headcanons in the middle of the night because sleep is for the weak but I am weak
Luz has...a unique sense of style. We’re talking clashing patterns, neon crocs with jibbits, sunglasses and fedoras, you name it. Urban Outfitters who? He was wearing it before it was trendy🙄✋🏽 GET on his level. A wonderful example of his fashion sense is the time the company had weekend passes (modern au) and he decided to wear his best outfit; a white shirt with an horribly outdated meme, cargo shorts with a chain, nike socks, and neon crocs. To top it off; a fedora and sports sunglasses with a purple tint. Yeah, it’s BAD.
To add to the Luz and his horrible fashion sense, do any of you remember icarly and the penny tee’s saying stuff like “my cheese my rules” and “fries matter?” HE OWNS A WHOLE DAMN CLOSET OF THEM
I can see Speirs LOVING Lana Del Rey. He has a secret Spotify and has a whole playlist of his favourite songs by her. Actually not just Lana Del Rey, all the sad girls like Lorde and Mitski. If you catch Speirs singing in a velvet robe to Millon Dollar Man, no you didn’t. You would be dead by then.
Speaking of music tastes, let’s move onto Lewis Nixon. First of all, brace yourself. Lewis Nixon has reverted back into his college phase (like he ever grew out of it). He’s a huge fan of Alternative eighties rock like The Smiths, The Pyscadelic Furs, Talking Heads, The Cure, etc. He has all his old vinyls and it’s a cool collection. However, Nixon hates Morrisey, which is good. He complains about the Smiths, with The Queen Is Dead blasting in the back.
Speirs kidnapped Carwood Lipton one time. Carwood works as an English teacher and Speirs is his boyfriend who works as a real estate agent meets ex mafia hitman but he doesn’t talk about it. Speris one day was like “we’re going camping” and took Carwood...camping. But like the thing is...Carwood told NO ONE. And plus he had a job to teach so yeah. Let’s just say that Carwood might’ve been a missing person’s case for like two weeks. But he kept posting on his Facebook like “what a lovely hike with my lovely boyfriend😍” or “look at our rv? isn’t she something🥰” and George Luz would comment and be like “BLINK TWICE IF YOU NEED HELP WHERE RU”
Eugene wanted Babe to start eating healthier, so he took him to Trader Joe’s and made him buy a bunch of healthy snacks because in case you have forgotten, Babe is a literal baby. So Babe picks out a bunch of snacks but doesn’t realize it’s baby food, nor does Eugene. So Babe is casually munching on little yogurt bites and Guarno is like “Franny feeds that to our baby what the fuck” and Babe spits them out, mortified.
Floyd Talbert was apart of the dance team in middle. Like, he was the only guy on the team so it was insanely akwared. I can imagine him having a solo for “Womanizer” but getting kicked off the stage bc he started full on strip dancing in a glittery fedora in front of his prince pal. High school Floyd is an absolute nightmare.
Joe Liebgott eats Hershey Bars, Meat, and monster energy drinks only. No wonder he’s skinny. He’s such a picky eater, it’s horrible. Like he also loves weird food combos, like cheese and Oreos. Which is nasty.
Dick Winters LOVES Water Skiing. I’m not joking, it’s his favourite hobby. Catch your daddy Quaker in a pair of tight speedo shorts and Nixon’s aviators, gliding across the water.
HARRY!! How could I forget. I can see his man owning a bunch of cat’s and calling them “sweetie”, “honey”, “sugar”, and a bunch of cutesy names. All of the name’s were kitty’s idea. Speaking of Kitty, I can see her being a big girl, like height and weight. Harry worships her and calls her “my big beautiful Amazon” and Nixon thinks it’s weird BUT IT’S CUTE
Johnny Martin has a secret Twitter account that nobody is allowed to see. Instead of typing like a normal person, he smashes the keyboard. Nobody knows what he’s saying except for Bull. It’s very concerning.
For Halloween, the mortar trio have really strange costumes. One year, they were a rollercoaster. Other years they were the three musketeers, Alvin and the chipmunks, and the powderpuff girls. There costumes are genuinely terrifying to look at. Did I mention there the sexy versions as well? There worse costume was sexy rock, paper, and scissors. Mega yikes.

I Went To The Cinema So You Didn’t Have To
Jungle Cruise
The spiritual successor to Pirates of the Caribbean, in the somehow real ‘Blockbuster based on Disney theme park ride’ genre, and the 2021 version doesn’t fall far from the tree. In fact, it borrows heavily from the plot and tropes of the five Pirates films (yes, not just the good ones!), as well as other films in the broader genre family: The Mummy, Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, that sort of thing.
I’d never actually heard of the ride when I first saw the trailer, and so I thought this was just the blandest idea for a film, with no unique selling point and a bland title to match. “We want to do another of those treasure hunt style movies, but we need a new angle, a strong original premise to justify the tropes we then attach to it.” “Nah, just call it Treasure Hunt and build it entirely out of recycled parts, no-one will care.” Then I found out about the ride, and thought that was fair enough, given the success of Pirates from the same unlikely inspiration.
I should have stuck to my first impression.
Those other films ran so that Jungle Cruise could walk. We have a treasure hunt for a mystical artefact, ancient booby traps, the reanimated corpses of previous hunters, dart-blowing natives, and German villains hunting the same thing. Nothing that hasn’t been done before, and with more subtlety. The conquistadors-hunting-the-fountain-of-youth plot is straight out of Pirates 4, whilst their part-animal zombies are straight out of Pirates 1-3 and 5.
In fact, the CGI seems to have worsened over the years, because they are less convincing part-animal zombies than the crew of the Flying Dutchman were. As we have observed with other media, the CGI seems to also have been limited in another sense, as they and the other budget-heavy character (a jaguar with a Latin name which is supposed to be clever but comes across as the opposite) go missing for most of the plot.
Reviews will talk about the chemistry of co-stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, who remain immaculately made-up throughout their trek through the Amazon, but they are both a bit... obvious. Blunt is your typical trouser-wearing super-capable woman-in-a-man’s-world, because Disney is not afraid to tackle the controversial topic of gender equality (and, of course, rich and white as always, because let’s not go too far), but a bit too peppy to ever fall in danger of developing a second dimension.
Johnson’s character is given much more depth, a tragic backstory and emotional lines which he delivers with the same unmoving facial expression he uses for his threats and his flirting and his jokes. The jokes are awful, and not made any better by the fact they are intended to be. At some point the scriptwriters gave up on coming up with the mandatory comic lines and had the brainwave “what if we just make our protagonist rattle out bad puns in place of actual wit, or indeed a personality, and have every other character awkwardly groan through them?”
Jack Whitehall is much better as Disney’s First Gay Character #8, even though his presence makes no plot sense, and he has the genuinely funny moments and comic acting. He and Blunt show the sort of tomboy-dandy solidarity seen most recently in Enola Holmes, but then the dynamic of the trio is taken straight out of the Mummy franchise. Again, it’s all too familiar.
Now, I went in with the expectation that this was a children’s film, and I’m sure that families will lap it up, but good family movies offer something for everyone and this is far too middle-of-the-road, done-better-before to satisfy on that count. There is an awkwardly forced innuendo in one scene (focused so much on the euphemism they forgot to make the lines make sense in any other way), as if they suddenly remembered they needed to offer something for the adults, but that’s pretty much all you get.

So 2020 sucked... but the films didn’t! The top twenty films of 2020 (in my humble opinion).
Tumblr media
AT LAST. This godforsaken year is over and as we venture into a new year, let's hope and pray that the art’s industry finds a way to build themselves back up again, in a way that is safe and necessary for them to bring us the entertainment we so crave. It has been a crazy and unprecedented year for the film industry, a year that it has never seen with losses of an estimated $5 Billion at the end of March. Some of the most anticipated blockbusters of all time had to be put on hold and postponed for hopefully next year with No Time to Die, A Quiet Place II, Wonder Woman 1984, Dune and Black Widow being a slim few that never got onto a silver screen this year. However, there is no reason to fret or relinquish the loss film has had this year, as hopefully next year once we’ve had a better understanding of this virus, these films along with many others will have their audience. Amongst the postponed releases, many films have been resilient to the virus and still managed to gain a spot in the cinema despite the circumstances.
Tumblr media
Christopher Nolan’s Tenet was the only multi-million dollar film to be released this year and even though the risk of release could have meant nothing for the film, it still managed to rake in a staggering $361 million, an expected profit for a film of its size. However, despite the film's success, Nolan made it clear that this shouldn’t be taken lightly and that the safety of film consumers comes before the profits themselves.
Tumblr media
Even though we will have to be more cautious in the cinema, films will return, once we have regulated safety measures in cinemas and film festivals to ensure that customers can feel comfortable. For now, HBO has planned to put many releases from Warner Bros. straight onto its streaming platform as well as in the cinema next year, in an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID whilst still being able show the films we’ve been craving. There’s no telling what next year will bring, what the Oscars will look like or if filming for the next Batman film will ever end, however it's clear to see that the film industry has shown resilience amongst this pandemic and will continue to do so in years to come, no matter the challenges.
Here are twenty of the films that made it to the cinema (or streaming platforms) this year, that proved the durability of the film industry during this time.
20. Tenet directed by Christopher Nolan
Tumblr media
We can all agree that Chrisopher Nolan’s Tenet should be handed the award of Most Confusing Yet Entertaining Film of the Year, or ever made in fact. The sci-fi epic adventure that sees its lead (named “the protagonist) travel back in time and then forward in time and then back in time again (?)... yup, I didn’t get it either, but I’m not the only one seeing as Robert Pattinson who played alongside John David Washingston hadn’t a clue what was going on either. And he was in the film. However, despite the film's confusion, it doesn’t make it a bad or “lazy” film, for every aspect of this film from lighting, sound design, casting, direction, stunts WAS ON POINT and those elements are truly what sets this film apart. The story may have been perplexing but at least there was one.
19. Nomadland directed by Chloé Zhao
Tumblr media
It is such a shame that Nomadland may not get the audience it deserves due to the COVID-19 pandemic as it is a truly moving and rich film. The Nomads are a group of real Americans who’ve hit the road in various mobile homes after the Great Recession in 2008 caused millions to be homeless and redundant. Frances McDormand plays Fern, one of these Nomads and child of the road whilst the film follows her simple, yet melancholy journey across Western America.  Chloé Zhao has been tipped several times for an Oscar with Nomadland after winning the Golden Lion at this year’s Venice Film Festival. Let’s hope that if this goes onto the Academy Awards, Nomadland will find the audience it so craves.
18. Uncut Gems directed by the Safdie Brothers
Tumblr media
YES, Uncut Gems came out THIS YEAR, which is an insane thought seeing as I saw the film in a packed cinema before it was released onto Netflix. The Safdie Brothers, Josh and Benny brought us Uncut Gems this year, a declining tale of a man’s test with fate and the many many second chances he gets at life, only to f*** all of them up. Adam Sandler plays Howard Ratner, a pawn shop owner and frequent gambler. This is Sandler’s best ever role and the multifaceted, gritty work of the Safdie Brothers (Heaven Knows What, Good Time) really brought something brilliant out of him.
17. The Half of it directed by Alice Wu
Tumblr media
The Half of It wins the Most Surprising Film of the Year. A highly credible film directed by Alice Wu, The Half of It is EVERYTHING we want and need in this world. In fact, it’s everything we kind of already have in this world, but hardly see on screen. Non white leads, queer non stereotyped relationships, unpredictable endings; The Half of It was an all rounder for me. Some may roll their eyes at the amount of diverse elements to the film and see it as a way of gaining brownie points, but why does that have to be a thing? Why can’t having active and authentic representation across all films just be normal rather than political? If anything, it should be encouraged. The story was brilliant (and made me cry) as it had so many layers to it as well as the characters.
16. 7500 directed by Patrick Vollrath
Tumblr media
Definitely the wildcard of this list, 7500 is an Amazon Studios film starring Joseph Gordon Levitt. I’ll admit, my hopes weren’t high, but after taking the time to watch this film I was truly blown away. And who KNEW Joseph Gordon Levitt could be so deep and in tune with his emotions on screen. He plays a pilot whose plane gets hijacked mid flight. There. Enough said. I could hardly BREATHE throughout this film in apprehension of what was going to happen next.
15. Kajilionaire directed by Miranda July
Tumblr media
2020 thus far has been the best year for female filmmakers. From Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Josephine Decker’s Shirley, Rose Glass’ Saint Maud and Miranda July’s Kajilionaire, a clear cut foundation has been carved effortlessly for female filmmakers this year. Miranda July’s Kajilionaire especially rocked my senses a little as I saw so much unfamiliarity yet beauty within this film. A simple storyline that follows Old Dolio (Evan Rachael Wood), a young woman trying to feel more connected with her parents. A certainly bittersweet tale that has this rose tinted like vibe to it that attaches itself to the visuals and music of the film, that make everything feel light and playful. This contrasts well with the story itself as being sad and melancholy, further proving the fact this film is more than face value. Face value films have never gotten us anywhere and its films that go beyond entertainment that truly last in the industry.
14. Bombshell directed by Jay Roach
Tumblr media
Bombshell is a PERFECT title for this film; a film that left me angry, sad and questioning the immorality that is still prevalent in the mostly male dominant society we live in. Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman (best trio ever) star as three news anchors on Fox news whose lives are brutally torn apart when the Head of Fox News, Roger Ailes is accused of sexual harassment on many different occasions by female members of the workplace. Despite the silence being now broken, these three women still face a whole load of other problems that come in speaking up against a powerful, white and rich male. Threats of permanent job losses, victim blaming and a weak image are the consequence of speaking up about sexual assault as a member of Fox news. The brand itself has an incredibly misogynistic view of women and continues to have an idealised image of how women should be on the news with those working at Fox actually admitting it brings in viewers. Women with tons of makeup and dresses shorter than is comfortable is Fox news and Bombshell went above and beyond exposing this scandal that truly shook American broadcasting forever.
13. Borat Subsequent Movie Film directed by Jason Woliner
Tumblr media
Borat Subsequent Movie Film wins the award for Most Jaw Dropping Film of the Year, as its protagonist and creator Sacha Baron Cohen, went above and beyond to show us the true dark depths of America. Ballsy, outrageous, jaw dropping, scandalous; every bold word can be used to describe this film and the lengths it went to get right to the heart of American society. The ugly heart. By now you should be aware that the ex president’s attorney was shoved right into the firing line after he was taken into a hotel bedroom by a reporter who happened to be an actor. Rudi Gulliani was left red faced after Borat bursts into the hotel room proclaiming the young reporter is his daughter, with Gulliani still unaware the entire outrageous event had been caught on camera. And not just any camera. A MOVIE camera. A true triumph in free speech and comedy, Borat Subsequent Movie Film will live on forever as the most outlandish film there is.
12. Miss Juneteenth directed by Channing Godfrey-Peoples
Tumblr media
A real eye opener into current American society using a touching story between mother and daughter as a backdrop. Turquoise is a single mother struggling to get by and support her daughter Kai through the Miss Juneteenth pageant, held annually in Fort Worth, Texas. A real competition, the Miss Juneteenth pageant promises one lucky young woman of colour a full scholarship to a black historical college of their choosing. Turquoise desperately wants this for her daughter as it’ll give her the opportunities in life she never had. A truly moving and authentic film, this scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes which is a highly impressive and deserving score.
11. The Trial of the Chicago Seven directed by Aaron Sorkin
Tumblr media
Aaron Sorkin’s lyricism in words was again brought to us on screen this year with his depiction of the Chicago 7 (eight if you count Bobby Seale); seven men who were accused and put on trial for eliciting the Chicago riots of 1968. When in actuality, the police themselves had more to do with riling up the protestors than anyone else, even pushing a crowd of protestors through the front window of a restaurant to make it seem like they had vandalised the property. If anyone was going to make such a film, Sorkin would be the one to do it as with any event or idea he covers, Sorkin’s words as a writer MAKE YOU CARE. Even when you had no recollection or understanding of something, the way Sorkin depicts these events on screen has you absorbed into the story till the last second. An incredible and powerful story and a film that I could constantly go back to in order to learn about the injustices of American politics.
10. The Devil All the Time directed by Antonio Campos
Tumblr media
I feel like The Devil All the Time still hasn’t got the recognition it deserves. There is something incredibly powerful and priceless about having a group of exceptionally talented people come together to create something for screen. This film wins Best Casting of the Year (if you don’t count Dune) as the likes of Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Eliza Scanlen, Sebastian Stan, Bill Skarsgård,  Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Riley Keogh, Jason Clarke and Haley Bennett graced our screens in this dark and ominous tale. Any story that is set in a small town and is about stories interweaving is bound to be interesting and thought provoking in it’s telling, with this adaptation being no different. The star of the show was Robert Pattinson’s thick Tennessee accent along with his clean yet filthy character interpretation of a perverted priest. Not one line in this film was thrown away and every single moment held a weighty tension, further confirming to us each character’s downfall by the end. An amazing adaptation and something you will reeeeeally enjoy.
9. Soul directed by Pete Docter
Tumblr media
What was supposed to be Pixar’s second release of the year, Soul is Pixar’s most highly executed film to date. The amount of detail and care the animators and creators of Soul had taken to this picture is INSANE; insanely beautiful. With the black community going through so much this year, having something like Soul be put out to audiences shows support of this ever changing and growing movement. Even though having black representation on screen isn’t on the top of everyone’s priority list, it’s still important that the effort is there in order to really show what the world is like on screen and to cater to more audiences. Soul itself had everything; diverse, three dimensional characters, a clear and heart warming story and comedic, uplifting points that only strengthened the important message of this movie; life itself.
8. The Lighthouse directed by Robert Eggers
Tumblr media
Again, another film that came out right at the beginning of the year, Robert Egger’s The Lighthouse was a whole new world that we had never seen before. Shot on a Panavision Millennium XL2 using a lense from the 1930s and black and white film, The Lighthouse was a decrepit, eerie and brilliant movie to watch throughout. It just makes me satisfied as a viewer when a director not only creates a film, but creates one that is so beyond anything we’ve ever seen and could likely have been made in an entirely different era altogether. Robert Pattinson KILLED IT in his role as a surly drunken sailor alongside Willem Dafoe, whose Irish accent was enviable. Overall a highly executed film that exudes brilliance and a creative mind.
7. The Hater directed by Jan Komasa
Tumblr media
I would say The Hater is the second wildcard on this list. It’s a Polish drama that hasn’t had a lot of rep in the media, however, this doesn’t detract from the film’s execution and drama. A real downfall story that sees a jealous ridden man go from a media intern into illicting terrorism. Like, HELLO how does one go to such an extreme? The only way to find out would be watching the film...The film really spoke to the dangers of social media and the ease of getting someone to insight violence onto someone else, all through a computer. My mouth was hanging on the floor during several moments of this film and I can 100% guarantee the Netflix film will have the same affect on you.
6. La Belle Époque directed by Nicolas Bedos
Tumblr media
La Belle Époque (or “The Good Times”) wins the award for Most Heart Warming Film of the Year. A surprisingly unique concept that follows a man trying to relive the best moments of his past after his wife wishes to divorce him. A company that specialises in creating your past memories offers him the opportunity to go back to the time when he and his wife first met, using actors, set design and music to recreate the moment. The French film emits a strong sense of nostalgia throughout with brilliant music and set design. It’s just one of those films that heavily expresses the idea of “what if” within a film whilst answering it boldly through its unique story.
5. Ema directed by Pablo Larraín
Tumblr media
Ema took me a few days to fully absorb and appreciate as an experimental film, rather than one with a clear cut narrative. It's a film that expresses an idea, a feeling as opposed to a story which is completely okay and doable in this day and age. Ema is a liberating, freeing and psychedelic world of a film, with the message of the film being wrapped up in Ema’s attitude as a woman and the way she sets fires to things wherever she goes. Literally, as the opening sequence is of her setting alight a basketball hoop. There is some strong, vivid imagery within this and the MUSIC...definitely the best sound track I’ve heard this year. Ema’s in my top five for its uniqueness, rawness and the weird sense of liberation it gave me after watching it.
4. Saint Maud directed by Rose Glass
Tumblr media
Probably the biggest breakthrough film of the year and despite the pandemic, Saint Maud certainly got the rep it deserved. An entirely new perspective of horror was brought to use in troves in the form of this Irish film created by first time director Rose Glass. I cannot express how brilliant and revolutionary Saint Maud was for its simplicity, story and filmmaking techniques. An ambitious and all round brilliant film that sits prettily in my top five films of the year.
3. Portrait of a Lady on Fire directed by Céline Sciamma
Tumblr media
Portrait of a Lady on Fire wins the award for Best Foreign Language Film and it still hurts to think it never even made it to the Academy Awards this year. One of the most moving and earthy films that I’ve seen this year, Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a slow, sensual and ambiguous picture that shows a love story between two women through the form of art. I became quite obsessed with the music of Antonio Vivaldi after seeing this as the time period and music intertwined really well in this film. Exceptionally made and incredibly raw, Portrait of a Lady on Fire went straight for the heart in this film by also putting the grievances of love at the forefront of this film.
2. Parasite directed by Bong Joon Ho
Tumblr media
You are probably extremely bored and tired of hearing of the success of Parasite as a breakthrough picture, however there are an abundance of reasons for it! Winner of Six Academy Awards including Best Picture, Parasite really pulled the rug beneath the Academy Awards feet and certainly proved that no matter your race, it's the story that sells and that will bank you an Academy Award. A wonderfully crafted story, one that could have been found in theatre or even opera and those sort of structured narratives are what really grab people’s attention.
1. Another Round (Druk) directed by Thomas Vinterberg
Tumblr media
And finally, my favourite, Most Enjoyable Film of the Year had to be without a doubt, Thomas Vinterburg’s Druk, which I had the pleasure of seeing at the BFI London Film Festival this year. The theatre-like structure of a narrative has been implemented seamlessly into this film and even if structure means nothing to you, you can feel when a film has been crafted differently to bring about a dynamic and earthy narrative. I’ve previously watched two films of Vinterberg’s; Festen and The Hunt and even though those two films hold a high rating, Druk is definitely Vinterberg’s best film yet. Extremely entertaining whilst also carrying a rather dark side to it, Vinterberg sells you the best and worst of two worlds whilst exposing the effects of alcohol consumption.
Tumblr media
And that’s it! 2020 in films! If you agreed or disagreed with anything on this list or think something else should’ve made the list that came out this year, be sure to leave me a comment on this post or via instagram on @ratingtheframe. It’s crazy to think that this obsession of mine turns two years old next year and there are still so many amazing pictures to be seen! And as always, you will find each and every one of them right here on @ratingtheframe.tumblr.
Bring on 2021!

Ahead of the next chapter of Visions Interrupted, I pieced together a backstory for the Amazonian coven. The key character is Kachiri, who was not featured in the movies. This beautiful woman is how I picture her:
Tumblr media
You can read it on FFn, AO3, or below the cut
The Origins of the Amazonian Coven
Kachiri, Zafrina, and Senna are all direct descendants of West African natives. Brought to Brazil by Portuguese slave traders in the 1500s from what is modern-day Ghana, three African men managed to escape. One man hit his captor hard in the temple with his heavy shackles, killing him. The man was able to steal the key from the man’s body, and he freed the two men he was captured with. They hid in the Amazon rainforest, an inhospitable environment for most humans, but an environment they were somewhat familiar with coming from the semi-deciduous rain forests of West Africa. They eventually found safety and integration with the Guató people of The Pantanal. The Guató were river-dwelling nomads who lived out of their canoes, with most of their diet consisting of grains and fish. Once the three men showed their worth by hunting land animals and presenting them to the Chief, they were accepted into the community. The men each found love within the tribe and all three produced daughters. Kachiri, Zafrina, and Senna naturally banded together as they were still considered outsiders due to their fathers recently integrating. But they grew up as contributing members of the tribe, and were never treated differently.
Kachiri was in her late twenties on that fateful day. Far too old not to be committed to someone in the tribe, but she wasn’t considered an option among the men as she had an undeniably close relationship with her childhood friends, Zafrina and Senna. One day, Kachiri was gathering fruit for her tribe several miles from home when she was bitten by a vampire. When she awoke from the immense pain of her transformation, she was met by Christian, the leader of the Brazilian vampire coven. He had taken an interest in Kachiri’s beauty and changed her to become his bride. Kachiri did not protest Christian’s plan mainly because she was afraid and bloodthirsty and unsure of what and where she was. She overheard Christian telling another coven mate that he would not bed Kachiri until she was no longer a newborn, for only then would she lack the strength to fight him off. As a result, Kachiri worked hard at controlling her newborn wildness on the inside, while still acting like a newborn in Christian's presence. Liana, the coven’s linguist and Thiago’s mate, taught Kachiri more Portuguese than she already knew, along with English, as many travelers utilized the language. During her first few months, a strange and creepy vampire named Joham visited the coven, talking about his desire to impregnate women in the nearby tribe, where the Brazilians often fed. Internally, Kachiri was horrified by what would happen to Joham’s eventual victims, but she said and did nothing. She continued to pretend to be wild and distractible as she worked on her control until she was confident enough to leave on her own. One day while Christian was hunting with Thiago, Kachiri ran. Liana did not attempt to stop her. Kachiri took to the waterways to mask her direction and find her best friends and lovers, who were still with the wetlands tribe.
Kachiri found her friends sitting close together beneath a tree, and when she approached, they were beside themselves with joy that their missing lover was still alive. It was thought by the tribe that Kachiri had been eaten by a jaguar or swallowed by an anaconda, as no body was ever found. Though they were happy to see her, they were confused by the new sharp symmetry of her features. Kachiri explained the fate which befell her and explained what it was like to be a vampire, that she’d been told she would never age or die, but in exchange, she had to drink blood. Zafrina and Senna had not gotten over Kachiri's death, and her loss had weighed heavily on them both every day. The trio had spent their whole lives together and if they didn't have to part again, they didn't want to. They asked to be turned into vampires as well, and Kachiri gladly turned them both, her control ironclad due to her work spent honing it so she could escape Christian before he could claim her.
Kachiri and Senna did not possess a tangible gift, although it could be argued that Kachiri had the gift of superior control if she could fool Christian and turn her two lovers before her newborn year was completed. Zafrina, however, had a rather powerful gift, where she could place whatever visuals she wanted into a person's mind. The three women theorized this talent had been born into her; her father had been a griot, and his father, and his father before that. She had been taught the art of telling their histories and legends, and her tales were so descriptive and convincing that it manifested in her ability to project such detailed illusions.
Together, the three vampires lived in isolation, hiding from Christian and the Brazilians, never to be seen again by their tribe. **(Christian never came to look for Kachiri because he didn’t care enough. He just turned the next beauty he saw, and Carla became his wife.) Eventually, the Guató people moved on to another area of the Pantanal. To preserve their anonymity, the three women moved into the deserted area, often feeding in Argentina or Peru, or on poachers in the Amazon Rainforest. This continued for centuries, and the women never encountered others of their kind. They didn’t need anyone else besides each other though, so the trio were content with their life.
In the 1940s, the American coven needed to escape the World War II draft. They could not go to Europe where the war was raging, and Asia was also dangerous. They instead travelled to South America, which was relatively untouched by the war, and they enjoyed the varied wildlife they found in the rainforest. This was where they encountered the Amazonian coven. Zafrina immediately used her gift to protect her lovers against the unknown vampires. The leader beseeched the women, saying that they meant no harm, and explained their bizarre way of life. Kachiri had taught Zafrina and Senna the languages she knew, so they were all able to understand Carlisle’s words. Zafrina stopped using her gift and the women got to know the five new vampires. They parted on good terms, having forged new friendships with the Cullens: Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Emmett, and Edward.

83 but with all the batfam + Mari fluff?
“If you want me, come and get me, motherfuckers.”
Ah, thank you. A feel good prompt at last!
—————————————————————————————————-
Bruce blinked slowly, trying to gauge exactly what emotion he should be feeling at the moment.
Clark was standing behind him in awe and slight terror, waiting to see how the big Bat was going to respond.
Diana looked absolutely delighted by the goings on of Bruce’s children.
The entire hallway was covered in little foam darts with sticky cups attached to the tips. Pink, purple, black, gold, red, blue, green, and grey foam darts painted the normally dull colors of the manor. They were attached to the pictures, the walls, the banisters, basically anything solid.
Throw pillows were tossed in every direction. Blankets were held up haphazardly, as if they were a hastily made shelter. Books were also scattered across the floor, along with some creatively taped together foam darts that looked like…throwing stars? While it didn’t look like anything was broken or damaged, the lack of Alfred greatly concerned Bruce.
He was positive the butler wouldn’t let the children get away with this. Alfred had taken care of this house since he was a boy, and Bruce knew that the children couldn’t overtake Alfred. Each child had their own sense of respect for Alfred, occasionally listening to him instead of Bruce. If Alfred had ordered them to stop, they would have ceased immediately.
Alfred didn’t call Bruce to tell him he was leaving either, so the man knew his ‘father’ had to be inside the house.
“Clark, take the eastside. Diana, you take the west side. I’ll try and see if I can’t locate Alfred. Keep on your toes, the kids have most likely set up traps,” Bruce said quietly.
Both nodded, though Clark seemed more serious than Diana. The Amazon’s blue eyes were sparkling with excitement and mirth as she broke away from the group. Clark was hesitant to leave Bruce, but one glare from the man sent him on his way.
Clark may be virtually indestructible, however, he knew his best friend well. He also knew his best friend’s children well. He knew damn well he was walking into a literal warzone with some of the fastest and most intelligent non-metas to ever take up a cape. He was now a potential target, and he wasn’t dumb enough to underestimate the Bats…especially not on their home turf.
——————
As it turned out, Clark was very right to worry.
How did he know?
There were now fifteen darts stuck to his head.
The man of steel had been walking down one of the many corridors when he felt something strike the back of his head. He had pulled off a dart, which was grey in color. He tried listening around him to hear if there were any footsteps approaching him, but when he closed his eyes to focus, a barrage of darts came out of nowhere.
He began to run, only to be yanked into a passageway by someone.
That someone swearing fervently once they saw him.
“Motherfucker! The girls’ got Clark, Dick! And he obviously didn’t fuckin’ see Babs because he’s completely unarmed! He’s fuckin’ useless!”
Clark’s eyes widened as he looked to the dark haired man speaking.
“Jason? One, watch your language. Two, what in the name of Ma’s apple pie is going on here?” he demanded, looking at Bruce’s second eldest son.
Jason gave him a grin with teeth, essentially telling the Blue Boy Scout to go fuck himself. Another set of footsteps caused Clark’s attention to snap to the newcomer, who he recognized immediately. Dick was holding a finger to his mouth with an intense glare on his face.
“Shut. Up! Do you want the girls to find us? Or worse?” he hissed lowly.
Clark looked bewildered between the two brothers as they began to make obscene hand gestures towards one another in annoyance. He still had no idea what was going on and was about to go find Bruce until Damian appeared.
“Training exercise,” he whispered. “Girls against boys. To participate, you had to go see Barbara for the comm and dart gun with your specified color. Since you did not, this means that you are not on our team and will be considered a casualty point instead of full points. However, since the girls got you first, that means if we shoot you, we don’t get any points. So you’re safe from at least us.”
Clark felt a headache beginning as he rubbed his right temple. The things these kids thought up when they were bored! Clearly Bruce hadn’t known about this, considering his confusion upon entering the manor. Did Alfred know what the kids were do—
He gasped as another dart hit him. This time the dart hit the back of his neck. He ripped it off to see it was a grey foam dart once again. He held it in his hand, rubbing the back of his neck. Clark wondered which of the girls would have chosen grey—
“Fuck, we’ve gotta move!” a fourth voice came, slightly panicked. “He found us! Abort, abort!”
Who found them?
Who was he?
Clark watched as Tim haphazardly shoved things into a bag, turning it into a makeshift shield. Jason began to swear violently as Damian responded that they couldn’t move from their position. The girls were lying in wait for them just around the corner. If they fled, they’d all be shot. Dick seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, taking cover behind one of the statues in the room. He went to speak until Jason covered his hand.
“I’ll go.”
“Jay—”
“I said, I’ll go. Just get ready to run,” Jason said, alarmingly grim.
Wasn’t this just a game—?
Jason sprinted out of the room, hollering as loudly as he could, “IF YOU WANT ME, COME AND GET ME, MOTHERFUCKERS!”
Clark watched as a spray of darts followed Jason’s path as he attempted to reach cover. Dick, Tim, and Damian darted down the opposite way, leaving Clark behind. The Kryptonian just stood there, confused and still being pelted with little foam darts. It wasn’t until he heard a jubilant voice that he actually began to move.
“Clark! Why aren’t you getting in on the action?” Diana asked him, with her own dart gun in hand.
“Diana? What are you—”
“The girls were a player down and invited me to join their team! I think this will be a brilliant exercise in teamwork, strategy, and stealth!”
Of course Diana would think this was fun.
And of course, Diana also took this opportunity to shoot him with her own red and blue darts.
Clark then wondered if Bruce was getting it just as bad as he was.
———————
Bruce, while having not been shot yet, was not having much luck either.
He had seen his boys race past him, but the trio hadn’t paused for a second. All three had had foam darts of the pink, purple, black, blue and red, and grey variety sticking to them, some falling off as they ran. Considering the fact that none of his children had stopped their mischief upon seeing him, he figured that either they didn’t see him…or they saw him and did not care.
His daughters, as well as his hopefully future daughter-in-law, also darted past him without a care. The girls were mostly covered in grey darts, but there were some red, blue, gold, and green ones attached to them. Diana was also trailing after the girls, however, she only had grey darts on her body. They paid him no mind, giggling and laughing as they raced past him.
Bruce was now irritated, and he continued to search for Alfred. It appeared the only sane person in this goddamn house would have to restore order. His kids had even roped sweet little Marinette into their tomfoolery, and it was up to Bruce to stop them before they got her hurt. Though, Alfred was probably the only one who could stop them now.
He went to walk back into the foyer, not having found Alfred in the kitchen or living room, when he felt something hit him between the eyes.
The next thing Bruce noticed was that his children had all frozen, staring at him with wide eyes.
Jason looked delighted, a wide grin on his face. Dick and Tim were horrified, mouths agape. Damian was laughing, as was Stephanie. Marinette’s grey eyes were wide, and she’d covered her mouth with her hands. Cass’s shoulders silently shook with mirth, and Diana had a shit eating grin on her face.
Clark had just appeared next to him sighing, a grey dart on his forehead.
“Got you too, huh?” he said with a sigh. “Okay kids, which one of you decided nailing me and Bruce on the forehead would be fun?”
“Oh, it wasn’t one of them,” a sing-song voice came. “By the way, both teams lost.”
This brought forth arguments from the Bat-siblings as Marinette wiggled her way to the front. The dark haired Parisian walked over to the speaker… a red-headed woman in a wheelchair.
“Who won then, Ms. Barbara?” Marinette asked, ever polite.
“Please, Marinette, call me Babs,” Barbara said with a smile. “And our surprise sniper won of course! By taking out both Bruce and Clark, he clenched the final victory.”
Marinette’s grey eyes lit up, and she laughed loudly.
“Congratulations, Alfred! Looks like we’ll be making dinner tonight,” she said with a grin.
Alfred stepped out from behind his hiding spot, smiling at the lot.
“Yes, yes, you will be. I trust Master Dick and you will keep them in line?” he said, handing Barbara his dart gun.
“Oui, Alfred!” Marinette chirped. “What would you like for dinner?”
“Surprise me, Miss Marinette. I’m sure you’ll pick something wonderful,” he replied.
Bruce watched with wide eyes as Alfred instructed the children to clean up. The kids left without a fuss. Marinette and Dick left the room last, discussing what they would be making for dinner. Alfred walked over to both Bruce and Clark. He snatched both darts off of their foreheads before smiling and saying, “Welcome home, Master Bruce. Master Clark, it’s good to see you. Miss Diana will join you once she’s done helping the children clean up.”
Clark looked down at his best friend before sighing.
The Waynes and company were… certainly something else.

THE LIVE ADAPTION OF TPN FROM AMAZON HAS ME SO WORRIED YET EXCITED
Aaaaahhh yes it's exciting news indeed!!!! Tbh I don't think live action is the best media to adapt the story, but we'll see. Anyway it's very exciting to get new content about the kids!! So far we know it'll be produced by Masi Oka (who have worked on the Netflix adaptation of Death Note which I've... Heard quite a bit of criticism about but haven't seen myself) and directed by Rodney Rothman (who also co-directed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which visuals I absolutely loved!!!!!). Still, I personally think the story works way better with animation.
Shirai and Demizu have said to have met the producer and director already; however, since it's a western media, I have a feeling they won't be much involved in its making. Either way, I'm definitely watching it when it comes out!
Since it's new and different from the live action movie, I'm very curious to find out if this time as well they'll opt to make the children older. But please please have the trio be of the same age for God's sake
Also I'm very much afraid they'll push unnecessary romance in the plot that is something pretty common in western medias and that I'd absolutely loathe to happen.
So far I'm very excited to learn who will be cast!!! The series has all the basis for an ethnically diverse cast and I'm hoping so much they won't miss this chance latino Ray latino Ray BLACK NORMAN BLACK NORMAN BLACK NORMAN latino Ray latino Ray
Besides from this new live action they've announced so many new projects?? I'm so happy to see that even though the series has ended, we'll still have the chance to get new content! Here's a list of recently announced new projects to look forward to:
Volume 19 - July 3rd, 2020
Volume 20 (last volume ;;) - October 2020
The live action Japanese movie - December 2020
Art exhibition in Japan - December 11, 2020 ~ January 11, 2021
ANIME SECOND SEASON!!!! - January 2021
Artbook and fanbook "to set up" according to Posuka Demizu's farewell message on Twitter
Third novel on a "secret story" of "that character" announced at Jump Festa - release tba
Fox 21 produced and Amazon streamed live action series - release tba
"A special project of the series" different from any other announced project, according to Posuka Demizu's farewell message on Twitter
Let me know if I missed something!

That one’s been out for a while - and actually it was a repackaging and expansion of one of my first-ever romance story sales, once I got the rights back! So no worries if you missed that one! <3 It’s an interesting one - I think my writing style’s changed a little, but I also still really like it, and I can see things I would do differently now but I also really love the characters!
(story in question, for anyone wondering: Sorceress, which was originally published by Ellora’s Cave, way back when! now it’s been re-released through my current publisher, JMS Books!)
And it’s one of my rare m/f romances - though with bi main characters, so, not exactly straight! So there’s that too. (In my head it’s always a trio of stories - Sorceress is m/f with bi main characters, Magician is m/m with gay and pan main characters, and Princess will be f/f with bi or pan and lesbian main characters! But that third one is still just a vague idea, and the second one is of course the WIP...)
I always knew the rough plot of the second story - it’s a redemption story, and it’s sort of about what you do when you’ve already done everything, and it’s sort of about magic, and it’s sort of about the most dangerous magician in the world hiding away on an island until a young man on a quest turns up...
Here, this is a snippet I’ve had written for YEARS, from later on in Magician...poor Gareth is coping with a lot of emotions, being a second son from a fairly rustic (but goat-rich!) mountain kingdom, and now in love with someone who’s been both the hero and the villain of countless ballad’s and children’s tales...
#
Lorre sat down beside him on the fallen branch. He did not know how to mimic Gareth’s posture; he was not used to not knowing anything. “Then what is it about?”
“You’ve cursed and cured a king,” Gareth said. “You’ve been a dragon. Your former lover is the First Sorceress. What am I?”
“You,” Lorre said, “are the person who convinced me to leave my island.”
 Gareth looked up.
“The only person,” Lorre said, “who ever did that.”
“Because you decided to. Not because of me.”
“You’re the person I wanted to know more about. The person who reminded me that other people are important. And goats. And repaired village bridges. All of those.”
“You just like a good goat’s cheese,” Gareth muttered, but the corner of his mouth twitched.
“I don’t know if this is the appropriate time,” Lorre informed him, “but I would quite like to kiss you.”

So as someone who dipped out of the supernatural fandom circa 2014ish. I am utterly at a loss as to the recent posts.
Not to mention I live in Ireland and I do not think SPN even airs on any channel I can get and if I do wanna watch it I gotta pay Amazon for the privilege or get a VPN to watch it on American Netflix.
I mean I know what happened with the last trio of episodes (roughy: gay angel, turbo hell, fight god and win, tetanus, old man Sam, the car went to heaven) but I could not tell you what happened between the last thing I remember being the season five finale and the season fifteen one.
I remember an episode where Dean is Dr Dolittle or something?? And Charlie goes to Oz??? Other than that, mind empty, cannot remember a thing.
I will at some point find a way to watch from season six on but can someone who is very much still active please tell me what’s going on when it comes to the shoes? I’m so confused.
Why shoes? Is there some kind of symbolism I’m missing??
Please help.

One last game of Tag? Agents of Shield #PartingShot
With this tag game, I want to know the answers to these five (5) questions and then tag 5 or more mutuals. Wasn’t tagged but want to join? Join in ! Everyone is an essential part of this fandom! Name from @ agent.of.shield_ on Instagram ( @agents-of-fangirling ) who had a great idea to post a picture of yourself with a drink (or just a drink) and tag it #partingshot as a finale goodbye to the show (which I also am going to post tomorrow on IG).
Thanks to @azhamdrety for the tag!
1. Where were you in life when you first started watching AOS?
I was in high school! I was in a time in my life where I was struggling a lot with my anxiety and didn’t have many friends, so I lost myself in various works of fiction. After looking up Edwin Jarvis, I stumbled across Agent Carter (which was on Amazon Prime at the time) and I absolutely fell in love with the show. After that, my dad recommended Agents Of SHIELD. I think season 5 was still airing? I immediately fell in love with it too.
2. Where are you now?
I’m about to start college. I’ve improved a lot with overcoming my anxiety, and I have a group of amazing close friends (2 of which are also big fans of AOS). I think it’s very fitting that the show is ending now, because I’m about to start a new chapter of my life along with it.
3. What character development arc (or storyline in general) did you love the most?
Am I allowed to say the FitzSimmons trio? I loved FitzSimmons from the beginning (being a Brit studying science myself) and I’m not joking when I say that they are the first people I ever actively shipped. I think their storyline is beautiful and tragic, and their individual character development arcs are phenomenal. Fitz starts off as a nervous, fidgety engineer with a crush on his partner and ends up married to her having added “badass space explorer” to his resume. Simmons starts off as just the biochemist, and ends up travelling through space to find the man she loves and practically leading the team at times in season 7. And don’t get me started on Deke, who we meet as an arrogant, selfish slave from an apocalyptic future and ends up as an extremely caring, quirky grandson that puts his own life at risk for others multiple times. Long story short, I love them and their stories.
4. What will you miss the most?
“We’ll return in a moment.” That, and seeing character interactions and relationships develop. It will take me a while to actually acknowledge the fact that we’ll never get any more content :(
5. Favourite quote?
aaaaaa I can’t choose one! Literally everything that comes out of Hunter’s mouth is gold, and there are so many moments that I can’t think of right now, so I’m gonna play it safe with this sequence all the way back in season 1.
"I'm agent Grant Ward. And I can shoot the legs off a flea from 500 yards... as long as it's not windy."
"I'm agent Grant Ward. I could rupture your spleen with my left pinky... blindfolded."
or!
“Well, o-okay, right, well that- that is terrible. But you did shoot his father, that’s called revenge. I DON’T KNOW WHAT I DID TO DESERVE THAT HORROR MOVIE!” and “YOU JUMPED AWAY!!!”
actually iain’s delivery of exasperated!fitz’s lines kill me every time
and how could I not mention... “Cool.”
If you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged by me :D
