Controversial opinion of the night:

Rayla was raised in a culture that would cast out or even kill* her for fear or weakness. She views herself as a mean of defense for others, or even as a pawn to be sacrificed for someone else’s sake.

So maybe a situation in which she is cared for or rescued or romanced isn’t stripping her character of agency or reducing her to a love interest or whatever the complaint is. Maybe her playing the damsel in distress demonstrates that she is not only a protector but also someone who deserves protection, and who has inherent value just for being herself, not for her abilities.

At this point I’m putting my money on the end-credits scene of Mando S3 being the place Kalluzeb gets canonized. Just Zeb talking to Kallus, either on holo or in person, and their tone and words leave no room for interpretation.

It would be a nifty lil segue into the Ahsoka show, bc what would they be talking about except whatever is gonna happen there

BUT ALSO how chad of a move would it be to just drop that nonchalantly like a mic at the very last possible moment and then step back and watch us all lose our minds?!?!! End credits scene is Mentos and we’re Coke, that’s the chaos that would ensue (I don’t have to tell you that, if you’re reading this you’re probably a part of the Coke pool) and I really want to believe the Star Wars people could be that gremliny-gobliny about it

Looking back on it, I didn’t appreciate how calm Rebels was.

Like, we didn’t have monsters jumping out of the ground/sea/forest all that much. Some, but not a lot; actually, the big creatures tended to be tame (or tameable).

But in Bad Batch, in Clone Wars, even the last season of Mandalorian, you can’t go ten seconds without some big nasty leaping from the depths, roaring and apparently ravenous
