Awe thank youuu!!! >.< I think bc I’m such a minimalist in rl it’s easier for me to pick and choose. But here’s a tutorial that’ll hopefully help :33

NOTE! I do everything on my iphone (writing, editing, decorating my page etc just in case ur wondering if I do all this on a laptop/computer,,,I don’t :p)

ʚ The way I work is I’ll choose 3 main colours; a light colour, an in-between shade and then a dark colour. Mine for example : light colour: white, in-between shade: grey, dark colour: dark grey. It’s up to you whether you want ur dark or light colour to be ur main colour but I’d keep ur in-between shade as an in-between. (Think of ur in-between shade as a gradient, helping to blend ur light colour with ur dark colour)

AND CHOOSE COLOURS THAT WORK TOGETHER! Even when picking pictures like for example ur navigation or pinned page make sure the pics have the same three colour combo you used through ur whole blog even if its minuscule it’ll make a huge difference I promise u (so like I’d personally look out for white, grey and black accent pics for my blog on Pinterest) :

ʚ Even with moodboards I still work with the same mindset! :

SET YOUR THEME! Once you’ve figured out your colours and where they’ll go, set your blog’s theme from the editing page!!! (hint : I’d use your mid/gradient/in-between shade as your accent but it honestly depends on what ur after) :

ʚ What really helps is when you have a pic theme and what I mean by that is maybe use ur fav character from somewhere (like mines megumi from jjk) or maybe it’s a sanrio character like my melody. (I grab my pics from this Pinterest board if that helps which I also use for my moodboards)

Example :

⤷ I also found it helped my aesthetic when I added links into my bio to help find my carrd and navigation (here’s the link for the tut) it helps fill out ur bio especially if ur not sure what to put there :) — I know earlier I said I do everything on my phone but I’m not entirely sure if this is able to be done on a phone (android or iphone) so I’d use a laptop with this part if you can :))

Miscellaneous things you can add!

ʚ You can also customise ur ask page title (like mine is : send me a love letter ︎♡)

ʚ Keep ur writing post themes consistent — this helps readers actually remember ur work while also tying ur blog together.

For example, I always use this draft for my writing :

ʚ Fonts really help! I personally use the app : keyboard + + for free fonts (u just have to watch a few adds to unlock them)

ʚ I find it important to make sure whatever picture you add to your blog has a transparent background — not everyone has the same colour palette (like mine is permanently on Dark Mode while others will have theirs on Gothic) :

ʚ Tags make a difference on your posts too! A separate tag index can also help ur followers know where to find certain posts for easy scrolling or maybe posts they want to avoid (like smut) :

ʚ For my pfp I chose a bright main colour like yellow to stand out against the dark grey of my blog and I usually leave this as the last step in my “blog decoration” just because I find it easier once all the main construction is done and then I can see what colour(s) I need to add back to tie my blog together.

ʚ I also like to hide my pfp/avatar from my bio bc it looks a bit too much and too big for me personally and it can sometimes clash with the colours you already have going on, I like a minuscule pfp but again that’s just preference :

Would you be amenable to meme suggestions? I think you could get a lot of mileage out of ofmd combined with “i’ll kick anyone’s ass. i’ll kick your ass. i’ll kick your dog’s ass. i’ll kick my own ass.”

I think it could work for several characters. You could do Jim with photos of Spanish Jackie and Geraldo, or Izzy with the last pic being him covered in gun powder realizing he just broke his own sword and got himself kicked off the ship per his own conditions. You could probably work it for Stede, I think (he’s not angry but he’s a “put up your dukes” kinda guy with too much or too little confidence by turns), though if he kicks his own ass, it’s probably by accident. Or maybe “kick my own ass” would be that scene of him getting whooped by Zheng which was really his own fault. Zheng in episode 8 would probably fit too, when she thinks Auntie is dead and just starts kicking everyone’s ass.

Even if you don’t use the idea, what do you think? Opinions?

This is one of my favorite polyamory-related posts here, thank you for sending it. Some of them remind me of already written or imagined scenes in the universe. First I’m gonna talk a bit about those and then below that I’m gonna put a scene where George shows his love to Logan.

I planned to write more scenes here but this first one ended up being longer (692 words) than I imagined, and I don’t think people like really long posts with multiple ideas/scenes, so if you’d like to see more scenes where the boys show their love to each other, then feel free to send an ask and I’ll try and come up with some more. But I’m also open to scene ideas and prompts for this universe.

So, first a bit about the pics in the post you linked:

The first one (A1) is totally Logan the first time George and Alex kisses him because it comes as a surprise to him. 

The second one and the one under it (A2 and B2) where two of them are kissing and the other one is in the background reminds me of when George has a closer moment with Logan and Alex sees it from another point of the room. The B2 one is exactly the moment when George witnesses Alex putting Logan’s hand on his apex to let him feel his heartbeat. 

The F2 one reminds me of when Alex and George confessed their love to Logan. 

The J1 one is exactly when they’re crying at the airport before George and Alex have to leave. 

J3 reminds me of scenes when George comforts Logan, Logan’s buried into his chest and Alex pets his back. That’s their go-to way of comforting Logan in the beginning. 

And last but not least M2 and M3 are the ways they usually sleep. Especially M2 because that’s the most similar to how they sleep when Logan’s involved, too. And the M3 is when they’re listening. That’s a bit difficult sometimes with the weight of two heads on a chest but they make it work.

And now here’s the scene with Logan and George:

I was thinking about something like George noticing that Logan is still active on one of the social medias or something even though it’s in the middle of the night over there. So he texts him.

George: Are you okay? Why are you still up?

Logan’s surprised to see the message popping up but it warms his heart. George always cares. Logan sighs and starts typing.

Logan: I can’t sleep.

George: Is it panic? 

Logan: No, don’t worry. I’m just… I don’t know. I just can’t. Maybe it’s just the stress.

George: Would my heartbeat help? Alex told me there’s a way to let you hear it real time. He isn’t here now but I think I can make it work. We can try it.

Logan has to close his eyes for a moment and take a deep breath not to get too emotional again thanks to George’s generous offer. He’d love to have his boyfriends next to him but until their next meeting the closest he can get to one of them is to listen to George’s heart real time. So he says yes.

Logan: If it’s not a problem, then I’d like to listen to it.

George: It’s never a problem, Logan. You know that. I’m gonna put the setup together and then call you. We won’t be able to talk, you’ll only hear my heartbeat. Is that okay?

Logan: Perfect, thank you so much. ❤

George: I hope you’ll sleep well. 

Logan: I’m sure I will. Your heartbeat always helps. 

George: Glad to hear that. It’s always here for you. ❤

At this point Logan’s having a really hard time not to let the tears escape and run down his cheeks, but he gets himself together and waits for the call to come.

George: Put your airpods in and find a comfortable position. 

Logan does as asked, puts his airpods in and hugs the other blanket next to him like he always does when he sleeps alone. He needs it to imagine he’s not alone. 

Logan: I’m ready.

George: Alright, I’m calling now. 

And when Logan picks up, it’s there. The oh so familiar heartbeat of George, slow and steady, with his breathing in the background resulting in a perfect lullaby.

A message pops up again.

George: Can you hear it well?

Logan smiles and closes his eyes for a moment, breathing in deeply to let his body know that it’s time to calm down and sleep soon.

After this, he replies to George with a “Yes, everything sounds perfect”.

George: Alright, I’m glad. I’m imagining hugging you, your head is on my chest, with eyes closed and you’re breathing evenly, your body is completely relaxed. I kiss your hair and a soft smile appears on your face before you finally fall asleep. 

Logan knows George wanted to help with this message but as he reads it again and again, it just keeps breaking his heart even more. He wishes he could be there with George, not just hearing his heartbeat and breathing but feeling it, too. 

Soon, Logan, soon, he tells himself.

All he sends as a reply is “I love you ❤”. For the first time ever. Maybe it’s platonic, maybe it’s romantic. Logan himself isn’t even sure about it. And he’s scared that it’s too much for George. That’s why he puts the phone away and closes his eyes, letting the tears find their way down on his cheeks. He misses George so much…

As he tries to follow George’s even breathing to help his body calm down, Logan notices a sudden change in George’s heartbeat. It beats faster for a few moments and then slowly finds its way back to the usual rhythm.

He smiles and hopes it’s because of his message, but he doesn’t want to hope too much because he knows the reality will be painful. He decides to just try and fall asleep because overthinking never helps.

Little does he know that there’s a reply from George that says “I love you, too, Logan.”

Tomorrow morning he’ll see that hearts don’t lie.

Sometimes I need to post to organize my own thoughts. So here’s my take, please correct me if I’m wrong on any of this.

Mile posted a story update of someone wearing this grey shirt with a red rose:

This shirt was identified as one that was given as a gift by fans to Apo, not to Mile. Here’s what they shared:

In terms of who it might be, I’ll just point out that the rose in both pics is on the same side, and the second pic is obviously not a selfie, so the first one is likely not one either. It could be Apo wearing the shirt and Mile’s taking a pic of that, or it might be Mile wearing the shirt and someone else is taking a pic of him, possibly with Mile’s own camera. If it’s the latter, my money is on Apo taking the pic. I can’t tell which guy it is, but I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts.

Then Mile showed up to a concert wearing a shirt that looks really similar, it has the same red rose on the side, except it’s green, not grey. I also, as much as I can tell, think the distance between the rose and the shirt collar/shoulder is not the same, I think it’s smaller on the grey shirt. So, with the caution of not being 100% sure, I’d say this shirt is not the same one as in Mile’s update.

Interestingly, this shirt was identified as given to Apo by fans, too.

Whether you think it’s the same shirt or two different ones, it seems like Mile def wore to the concert a shirt that belongs to Apo. If we are looking at two different shirts, and the guy wearing the shirt in the first one is Apo, then maybe they think of them as ‘couple shirts’ and that way Apo can be with Mile at the concert even when they can’t actually go together. Just maybe.

I’m not sure any of this is right or makes sense, so please, like I said, do correct me if I got anything wrong. Okay, so a big part of why I thought the two shirts were different is also because I was under the impression that two different fans posted separately that they gave their gift shirt to Apo, one recognizing the grey one from Mile’s IG story, the other recognizing the green shirt Mile was wearing. I have since been informed that it’s the same fan. So I guess this shirt really is the infamous ‘blue and black dress’ of Mileapo? XD

I’m still gonna keep the original post as is because like I pointed out, the pic in Mile’s update is not a selfie. The shirt there also appears to be buttoned up, unlike how Mile wears it at the concert... or how he wears everything, really. Meaning, I’m still not sure which one of them wore it in that pic. It might have been Apo showing it to Mile. But even if it was Mile wearing it, someone had to take that pic for him, and as it’s Apo’s shirt, I think he’s the most likely photographer. In other words, one way or another, you can consider this to be one of their ‘couple pics.’

Hi, I have a random question about writing but no pressure to respond! 

I am pretty new to the LS fandom (mostly lurking lol) and have been thinking about writing for it. I've never used a beta before and I thought it might be good to find one if I decide to try writing for Lone Star. So I'm sort of doing a survey and asking a few people to get an idea of how it works.

As a writer for the fandom who also does some beta reading, I think it's cool you have both POVs and I was curious if you would mind sharing what the process is like for you? Like when you read other people's fic, what do you need from the writer when you're looking at their work? How much do you talk about the stories? How deep do you get with feedback or is that something you and the writer decide on?

When you have used a beta for your own stuff, how has that been helpful? Does it make a big difference or is it just nice to have?  Is it hard to get or give feedback that isn't always positive? Seems like the scariest part tbh lol. Thanks for any insight you can offer, sorry for the long ask!

hi lurker anon and welcome to the fandom! 💖 You’ve asked some interesting questions and I’ll do my best to answer them for you. what the process is like for you?

I think you’ll find that ever beta reader is different and it really depends on the beta and the reader and even the fic! I work with the same writers a lot, but it’s always a little different because of the time available (to both of us), the kind of fic it is and when in the writing process I got involved!

I’ve talked a little about the process of beta reading (as it is for me) here. 

As I said, it does vary from fic to fic, but thing that remains the same for me is that - time allowing - I will always try to do at least two passes through the doc, because inevitably there are things I miss the first time. I look at fixing up any obvious typos, but also tidying up grammar and phrasing and just generally looking at ways to improve the fic and make it better than it already is. 

when you read other people's fic, what do you need from the writer when you're looking at their work? How much do you talk about the stories? How deep do you get with feedback or is that something you and the writer decide on?

I’ll answer these together because they’re all related. 

What I need from the writer is the document itself, but also guidance as to what they want. There are times when all I’ve done is read a fic for feedback as to whether the emotional beats the writer is trying to hit is there. Some people just want someone to proof read and pic up any glaring errors but not really edit the words themselves. Other writers want any and all feedback that I might have.

Talking about the stories depends on when I came into the process. For long, multichapter fics, it’s quite common that I come into the process at the plotting stage or maybe after the first chapter is written. I might get an outline of the fic or maybe we will just chat about it. But, for example, to use some long LS fics as an example, for both Magnetic North and Love Game, @paper-storm and @welcometololaland would chat with me about the plot, what was coming up, bounce ideas off me and I’d make suggestions about the story too.

In terms of how deep I get with feedback, yes, that depends on what the writer wants. There’s a level of trust involved in beta reading - a writer has to trust their beta! And the more I work with a particular writer, the more I get to know them, their style and what they want from me. My feedback might include plot suggestions, tweaking dialogue or the phrasing of a sentence, making sure that everyone’s limbs are where they’re supposed to be, checking that characters have removed or are wearing appropriate clothing for the scene, or suggesting restructuring a fic or chapter (including maximising the effect of cliffhangers which I have a love/hate relationship with).

When you have used a beta for your own stuff, how has that been helpful?

It’s hard to be objective when you look at and edit your own work. I can do it and try and switch my beta brain on, but there are always things that a beta will find and improve on that I won’t find myself. Sometimes when you’re that close to the writing, you don’t notice that you’ve used the word smile five times in three paragraphs, for example.

Does it make a big difference or is it just nice to have?

For me personally, I tend to have a friend or two living in my gdocs most of the time, and also send snippets of the fic to friends along the way, because I love the feedback and validation while I’m writing, so a beta is a “nice to have”. A lot of the time, beyond my friends picking up on typos as they read the fics, I don’t use a beta - especially if it’s just a smutty oneshot. I do want to use one more though, because my writing is always better when I do use one!

There are times when I’ve sent a doc link to a friend with a message like THIS ISN’T WORKING HELP and they’ve been kind enough to talk me off a ledge so I don’t delete the document and help me figure out what needs fixing. This isn’t necessarily beta reading though (but a beta can do that if they’re willing and you want them to) If you don’t have people to do that for you, then a beta can do some of that if you ask them to - it’s nice to get comments on what they liked in the fic as well as the things they think need tweaking!

Is it hard to get or give feedback that isn't always positive?

This comes back to trust - you need to trust that your beta just wants to help make your fic the best it can be, that their feedback is always intended to be constructive and that they will deliver it with kindness. I’m not sure that I’ve ever given or received feedback that is truly negative - if something needs improvement there are ways to do that gently by making suggestions or asking questions. It does come down to how well you know each other though - I know I can leave Lola a comment that just says “??????” (or vice versa) and neither of us will be upset with it and we’ll probably just laugh about whatever the error was. I hope that answers your questions! If there are stories you think you want to tell about these characters we all love, you should do that! 💖

Been a while since I’ve posted something related to XIV so here’s some Carmina. There was something about next patch using portraits for more dungeons and stuff or something? I dono I don’t really pay attention to announcements and just skim patch notes for stuff I care about when things actually come out but I heard something about this and decided that I needed to go in and make portaits for every class. This also resulted in me tweaking a couple glams and making a few new ones. Sadly I use two of my glam plats for my Crafter and Gatherer glams so MNK/SAM and DRG/RPR have to share outfits for now. PLEASE SE I just need 2 more glam plates (though also like a nice rounded 5 would be nice to keep holiday outfits separate on). Anyways random details about all the tweaks and new outfits (along with some of my general long winded ramblings) below the cut I guess.

So SCH, RDM, MCH, and NIN got completely new looks. My old SCH was too close in color and used a lot of the same pieces as my SGE look I put together for story this expansion so it had to go. RDM used a top that I had modded and so didn’t look right anymore. The top it has WAS originally on my new MCH look but I had shifted that to be more pirate-y and still wanted to use the top and it looks great in red. NIN was going to get a modified version of a Cait Sith cosplay I put together for a group Halloween shot my FC did but then I realized when lookig through stuff that I had the Neo-Ishgardian top and that plan went out the window as I decided I had a need to work around that top for the look.

Meanwhile... BRD continues to get stuck with my holiday look whatever that ends up being. So for now it gets to support my Christmas gear. Maybe after the holidays I’ll change it but the look is solid on its own holiday season or not so it may just stay.

For more minor changes... My DNC used to sport a hat, I might even have some screenshots somewhere on here from the past where it still sports that hat. The look was built around an old old glam from the HW days that I made that was very... tap-dancer-esque. These days the new look has kind of been a Mina default look and is what I base a lot of my art and designing around but I always leave out the hat so decided I’d switch it with glasses. They might not stay but I do always love the look of glasses on Mina. Second only to hair flowers (I just didn’t feel I had any good ones on hand to go with the look).

MNK/SAM got new earrings and DRG/RPR got new nails. These were both super minor style changes. I wanted some earrings that were lowkey and that I didn’t really use much (instead of my usual heart earrings) for the MNK/SAM look. That look has always been a staple of my wardrobe since at least early HW if not sooner than that. It’s simple and effective and was built entirely around the gloves and going “what else can I make black that has gold accents?” The DRG/RPR look is similarly an old classic of mine, built completely around the Maelstrom coat. I used to have the sharp beastly nails on the look and I just switched those out for the like regular painted nails. Super minor change for a look that has never stopped being amazing. The way the Y’shtola HW boots pair with that coat is too dang powerful.

As one last random aside, BLU continues to be my most extra look. I have tried to make it over the top and extravagant in ever incarnation I’ve made of it. This one is decidedly less silly than it’s first main glam (which I should dig up some old pics of) but it still has that very loud, “LOOK AT ME” showmanship to the design. Every time I make a new outfit for it I have a lot of fun with it. The only look that I think brings me more joy from the sillyness of it is my blindfolded “I can’t read” SMN look.

Aight I’m doing it, gonna explore some of my VERY OLD writing, the first “books” I ever wrote. Gonna use the tag ‘my old writing’ for this if ya wanna block it, but anyway it is time for me to reminisce >:) I’ll probably devote a post to each book I decide to post pics of, and I’ll likely do a format where the cover page will be in the main post, and the rest under a read more. Now without further ado…

…I’ve made a fatal error, this box doesn’t have my most ancient stories, it has ones from slightly later on in my childhood. NOO where is my Charmander and Torchic story!! Ah well I may have to delay this adventure until I rescue the early stories from my storage unit, but for now. This will do.

Once upon a time (probably before 2008 but idk when exactly) my older brother made the fatal mistake of revealing to me that people will actually go on the Internet and just post weird lil stories :O Like they’ll just write something funny. And post it. And other people can read it. Wow!

Naturally, I wanted to try it, and came up with a really ridiculous idea about giant weiner (or wiener, I kept changing the spelling) dogs that ended up morphing into a multi-story saga where it turned out the giant dogs are actually ALIENS and Earth ends up destroyed, also it features me and my older brother as self-inserts which he thought was GREAT. The best thing? None of this actually made it onto the Internet but I sure did print out the whole dang story, make a cover, and then tie it all together with nice gold thread. More under the cut

I just wanted to post the full first page so y’all can get an idea of the ridiculousness of my early writing. I was probably like. Actually I don’t think I was even 10 yet. Or maybe I was? Ehh about 10, maybe a little older but I’m relatively sure I wasn’t a teen yet. My brother helped contribute parts of this (like the strange, funky business part) but most of this was written by me.

As you can see the gross out humor is in full effect. Of course. As I was a young child who watched Nickelodeon. Moving on

My brother (Chris) got to be the villain who also survived Earth’s destruction and he had psychic powers just because.

the weiner dogs have a thing in their society about not eating animals unless they’re dangerous ones, hence them pulling bullshit like “oh this animal is tasty but not a threat? Oh- we’ll make it dangerous then :)”

Other names are just other random characters, mostly weiner dogs. but uhh yeah. There you go

the random shit I wrote back then. I promise I’ll dig out the truly old stuff but ohh my god looking back at this series was so funny. Maybe I could transcribe it all and post it to AO3. I already did that with some other old stories of mine which can be found here so. HmMM >:)

In our regular monthly feature with local artists, photographer and producer Joel Devereux answers questions about himself, his craft and calls for more support of local queer artists.

I discovered photography…

After accidentally falling into it. I used to be more of a drawer and painter, and I started exploring mixed media works in my teens. I needed to document sculptures I’d made for my studies, so I bought a little starter camera (a Nikon D90 which I loved) to have a go at capturing works myself.

I started producing Burlesque shows in Fortitude Valley in 2013 alongside Lillian Lace (that show, Vanguard Burlesque, is still running to this day), and we needed poster images so I put my hand up to photograph. 

I would describe my style as….

Creative portraiture. I don’t like to overthink it or box myself in. My style of hero shot is typically always a centralised figure in some glamour lighting. I like putting people with their character front and centre. The only thing I really don’t want to shoot is weddings. Not my bag.

The biggest myth about photography is…

It’s about the camera you have. There is a whole industry out there of men of a certain age buying the biggest and most expensive cameras, having no idea or motivation to learn how to use it, then reselling them to budding students at half the price. This is how I obtained most of my gear in the early days.

You can create some very compelling imagery on some very cheap gear. My first lens (a nifty 50mm) cost me $125 14 years ago and I’m still thrilled with the photos it captured. Even phones take some great shots now. I’ve never understood photographers who get mad at iPhone photographers and if it’s because they’re threatened. Don’t be bitter, be better. 

Famous subjects

The most famous person I’ve photographed is…

Paris Hilton. And she was an absolute delight. She was in town to promote her latest perfume through South-East Asia and the club I worked for booked her to DJ. She was only booked for an hour but (after being a little late) performed for over two hours and even treated us by singing Stars Are Blind and a few others.

She’s a good-time gal! As a long-time Simple Life fan, it was definitely one of the highlights of my nightlife photography career. 

My dream person/s to shoot would be…

I’d have to say Dita Von Teese. It’s been the same answer ever since I started getting into burlesque and then photography, so it seems like the perfect marriage of both of those interests.

I’ve even had friends work alongside her on tours around the world so maybe one day I’ll get that opportunity. I’m not really one for idols or fandom, but it would be a pretty full-circle moment for me.

A rare treat when it’s right. I’m not often in front of the lens and I very much prefer being behind it nowadays.

If I know I’m going to be photographed I like to give people something fun to look at so I’ll put together an outfit or bring out a classic piece of mine.

The secret of taking a great photo of someone is…

Making them feel at ease. I say being photographed can often feel like being sung Happy Birthday too. You can start to overthink your face and hand positions and get in your head about it because there are a lot of variables out of your hands. I think acknowledging both photographer and subject are here for the same mutual goal helps. 

The best thing you can do when getting your photograph professionally taken is…

Fake it ’til you make it. The irony that pretending to model actually looks pretty convincing in a still photograph. There was that one video that went viral of a model in China cycling through fashion poses which I swear gets referenced to me on every second photo shoot I do. Anytime someone brings it up I tell them to imitate it and you usually get some pretty decent shots out of it. 

The scene

The Brisbane scene is….

In a transition phase. A difficult question to answer right now given the state of the wider entertainment industry as it finds ways to respond to the global cost of living crisis. I can only speak as a producer in this space which has been my position for the past 11 years or so.

We have a lot of talent and innovation here, but it’s no secret that the local arts scenes are struggling in the landscape right now, amongst big-ticket acts and international tours post-pandemic taking up most of people’s disposable income. 

We aren’t able to access mid-week hospitality and entertainment like we could when I was coming up through the scene, and sadly there aren’t as many well-paying gigs as they’re used to be.

I feel Brisbane also struggles from competition fatigue, and whilst it’s a great platform to discover and highlight new performers who may not have regular gigs, not every show in the city should be using this method as a way of escaping paying talent.

I love our scene here, I owe my entire career in entertainment to it, but I’m concerned for its future if audiences aren’t in a position to support our craft. Our jobs are real and we deserve to be paid for it.

too hard to choose! But I will have to say Micah Rustichelli, who’s a dear friend of mine and is really shaking up the indie performance scene at the moment. I really appreciate Micah’s versatility as a visual artist and I enjoy not always knowing what’s in store next.

I like people who keep you guessing. It’s a skill I admire and need to work on myself.  I will also shout out another friend, the wonderfully talented Sahara Beck. I recently had the pleasure of photographing the cover of her album All Attention On Your Emotions, and it’s just a beautiful body of work that everyone should have a listen to.

i wish old man daniel was my grandpa or smth. i wish i could go hiking w him more & listen to his anecdotes & i wanna make him laugh. when i went hiking w him at corbett lake it was just the two of us in the car for the most part (about 4 hours total) & i was worried i’d be awkward or too boring for him but he loves to talk & i prefer to listen so he talked the entire ride & im so grateful for that. when we drove back to the city, i didn’t even want to leave the car i kinda just wanted to keep listening to his stories. we don’t know each other that well. in fact, we’ve only gone hiking 4 times together. but each time i’ve carpooled w him & have hiked right by his side. i think it’s funny that every time we go back to the city, i fall asleep while he drives. it makes me feel like a little kid 😭. also when he sprayed bug spray on me & brought me my sandals. that made me feel like a little kid. also i just appreciate that he didn’t accept the beer bc i was in the car w him & he was gonna drive. so he was being safe. when we were in the car he talked about his family. he told me about his abusive mother & his sister’s passing. & he asked me if i knew anyone w an addiction & i told him my father’s an alcoholic & we just shared a bit more about our family & i don’t know i think we got to know each other a bit better. he sometimes has his senior moments where he talks smack about tHe neW gEnERatiOn & how he quit his teaching jobs bc he hates kids. so sometimes i’m like damn does he hate me 😭??? but other times i think this could be good for us. i didn’t have a relationship with either of my grandfathers & old man daniel didn’t have kids or nieces/nephews. so i don’t know i think we could complement each other in that way. i learn a lot from him. i may not have much to contribute but maybe i can teach him something in the future. hopefully i see him again. i go back to my studies in two days. i’ll be busy every weekday w my studies & work. usually old man daniel goes hiking during the week bc there’s too much traffic (vehicles & humans) on weekends. so maybe i won’t see him until next semester or maybe even next summer. that kinda bums me out. in fact, i’m a little sad. i know i just met him two months ago. but maybe i just really want an older male figure in my life. i forgot to tell him not to die when i said bye to him. the neat thing is we have each other on social media now. he even shared his playlist w me 😭 i think he does this w everyone bc he LOVES to talk with everyone. i’m pretty sure he has some form of adhd & i even told him & he thinks he does too but more specifically Add. he took a fire pic of me like w my back turned & im facing the lake we hiked to. it was cool. typing this is making me tear up for some reason. I DONT EVEN KNOW THE MAN LIKE THAT. what if he does think i’m annoying. it’s very probable. there’s tears now. maybe i’m just mourning what could have been. i had even said to my friends that old man daniel & i were like the old man & the kid in the movie Up. now i’m sad. this’ll pass. i felt this way w my priest. as you’ll see there’s a pattern here. i get attached to adults who’s company i enjoy & who i learn from & who make me feel better. but you know what im just happy that i know this old man. it’s ok that im shedding tears. as long as it’s not in front of anyone bc then i’ll just seem crazy & delusional. only i understand why i’m sad. i do miss old man daniel & i don’t know how to deal w that.

some stuff he’s told me so i won’t forget: he had a sister, josefina. she passed away when she was 30 from lupus. he likes 60’s music the most but he also listens to grunge like alice in chains, nirvana, & pearl jam. he’s got a collection of rocks. he also takes a bunch of pictures of everything & everywhere he goes. he downloads the pictures onto his computer when he gets home. he’s always liked to hike & camp & backpack since he was a teenager.

Sitting around having sapphic thoughts about this girl I have a crush on that had the tags sticking out of her bra and shirt and I tucked them in for her and patted her sides when I was done gently and also snuck a pic of her to show my boyfriend and so he could fuel the crush cuz he likes gushing over beautiful women with me cuz he’s shares the same omg women are so gorgeous brain cell as me

Her bf also just moved in with her. Idk if they’re non monogamous or anything either. She’s the first person in a while that I’ve felt this crushy on mostly cuz I just don’t get any romance tinglies easily and also mostly find myself atrracted to celebrities cuz I know I’ll likely never met them let alone that way so they can just be fantasy and free of the real world baggage. Plus men don’t do it for me much outside my partner. It’s mostly femmes that do it for me in general. I had a hot trans girl send me her tits recently and she was so hot. And then there’s a gqnperson I like but she lives far away and we only know each other cuz of her ex who was my friend who died.

And outside of small crushes that aren’t crushes on some friends in a I love having you in my life way or if make out with you if we were in the same area cuz why not let’s be boy geniuses I don’t get crushes easily anymore. Things fleet and pass. Most are just attraction not actual desire for anything more. But this girl is different. So maybe it’s just another silly unrequited crush that I’ll keep to myself cuz it’s my problem. Or maybe there’s a chance. Who knows
