Gonna start cross-posting my stocking soon(?), until then
🫴✨ cry
.
Here's when Steve realises—Tony Stark is in love with him. It's when Tony risks his own standing with the government—risks the million employees associated with his name—to come after Steve, just to admit he was wrong. It's in Siberia, with the haunting of Maria's screams hanging between them—when Tony looks at him and asks ", did you know". It's when Steve has his shield raised high and Tony's eyes are bright with a resigned sort of fear.
It hits him when he's sitting on the jet, Bucky snoozing on the sick bed and T'Challa alerting his people and Steve is wearing the armor Tony had carefully, painstakingly designed for him—"Tony Stark has been in love with him for a long time".
Here's when Tony realises—Steve Rogers is in love with him. It's on Vormir, when his fingers are clawing in the dirt towards Tony—his body fighting with all its might against the pull of nanites. It's when Steve's got dirt on his face, tears pouring down his cheeks and Tony thinks ", what a tragedy". It's when the wind cries louder than Steve—his name echoing in the otherwise silent cliff and Tony finds hilarity in that this is the second person Steve has lost to a fall from great height. It hits him when his bones break, the force of impact dislodging his soul from his body and he's still hearing the raw, broken screams of a distant love—"Steve Rogers has been in love with him for a long time".
Here's when they find each other—in the afterlife, Valhalla as Heimdall says. A warrior's due. Steve has scars running down his left side, his face a canvas of constellations as he traces the fractures on Tony's skin. To Steve, Tony is the most beautiful sight in the land of gods and ancient beings. And to Tony, Steve is the pull of gravity, the sun keeping him steady in his orbit.
It hits them both—this is it, this is where they get to keep their love. Not in the living, but surely in death.

It's insane how Odin saw how his parenting style went so terribly with Hela that he had to banish her for as long as he lived, and then repeated it twice more.

here's a headcanon i've only just consciously realised i have:
whether it actually exists or not, mcu valhalla is meant to look like you expect: golden halls and courtyards where the warriors can endlessly feast and find glory in battle.
but mcu hel(heim) is meant to look like a battlefield after the battle is won. empty ash and mud and wasteland. mist, or smoke, or smog, or acid rain. visible decay that never cycles back to feeding new life. maybe traces of unidentifiable ruins or bones. hel is where those who died "without honour" go, the pointless deaths, the innocents, and so the supposed honour and glory are never visible there.
hel is where the enemies of asgard will (allegedly) one day rise up from - all the people they fed into the meat-grinder of their empire, all the women and children, the commoners and collateral damage, the so-called barbarians and slaves - and they can see that empire for the utterly bleak and pointless evil it is, and they're villainised for it. "the monstrous hordes of the undead". the ghosts on a nation's guilty conscience.
some of the monsters asgardians tell their children about are living, but the worst of them, the true existential threat, are the innocent people they haven't murdered yet. and the constant fear/shame of not dying well is only the fear of becoming one of them.

his stories
(loki x f!reader)

a/n - hi hi hi everyone! sorry for the lng wait. its hard to find motivation out here lol. but i am so so so excited to share this fic with you! i worked quite hard on it (: there will still be some occasional  touch ups every now and then. but, other than that, its done! thank you so so much to the person  who recommended this topic!  unfortunately i think their acc got deactivated so i can’t tag them but they were in my thoughts!  ok, ill shut up now! enjoy!
summary - loki and his love look back at his past with the stories of asgard.
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
A hibernal winter enveloped the land of Midgard. All around, little souls walk around the towns of the wonderous New York City. Couples are seen holding their freezing lovers hands within their own. Bells attached to the doors of little cafes ring as little souls rush inside in hopes for a warm cup of coffee. House lights shine in all different colors around the city, as pairs found their comfort on such an evening in the warm shelter of their homes. More specifically, Loki and y/n.
“What’s this one?”, the mortal asked.
“Ah, that one. Well, I occasionally enjoy a little ‘fiction’ every now and then. I am quite fond of knowing the tales of the place I once called home,” the prince stated. “This one, embraces the entities of Asgard, and the tales that have brought Asgard wonders of their past to life.”
The two were enveloped in one another; legs tangled, arms draped off the dark velvety couch they practically lived on every evening. The night frigid, leaving the two yearning for each other's warmth. The worries of their minds, swayed by the words on the pages of the book that was in the grasp of the pharaoh.
“Do you miss home?”
Ah... home.
“I find my peace with you, darling”, he replied immediately in a reassuring whisper.
It’s almost as if he has answered that exact question hundreds of times.
The smooth-talker moved his hand toward the side of his lover's face. A swift and papercut thumb glides across her ear toward her jaw. Despite the almost tranquilizing gesture, the girl pops up in curiosity, shifting to face her swain.
“Tell me a story”, the angel pried at her demon.
He smiled, gleaming at her eagerness to learn of his origin. He sighed and looked over her head with a curious look on his face. Silence crowded the room for a moment. He appeared to be searching for something.
He moved her hand off to the side and untangled their legs, placing the half finished book on the vanity next to them.
“Going somewhere?”
He chuckled to himself, getting up and shifting towards the back of the room, behind her.
“Loki?”, she tried again.
“Just a moment, dove”, he assures as he wanders even further behind the couch.
She watches as he moves around their living room library, spreading his fingers across every book he crosses by. Finally, he stops. He stands for a moment.
“Found it,” he whispers to himself.
He turns back around in a swift movement, gliding back to the couch where his lover had been sitting tight in curiosity.
“This… this is something I have been wanting to share with you for a while, flower,” be walks over to her with a bright smile on his face.
He makes his way to his spot next to his love. Their eyes meet; one with wonder and the other with a cunning imbue. Loki sits, groaning as he does so.
What an old man.
He looks over to his lover. Lifting his hand, he cups her chin in a riveting manner.
“I trust you, as well as I wish to share my childhood with you, if you’ll allow me to.”
She nods in her keenness. He nods back in compersion and brings the book to her, letting her hold it. She swifts her hand across the cover, taking in the moment.
A treasure within the hold of another.
The book was compact compared to what he had usually indulged himself in. It had a smooth fuzziness to it, most likely due to it's ancient-ness, with a hard rim on each edge. The front side was displayed with the words-
“Glory of Valhalla…”, the angel said in her fever of excitement.
The god took her hands in his own, as she held his youth in her hands.
“The stories my mother, Frigga, would read to my brother and I before we slept every night. Romance, adventure, magic, honor. Anything, you name it.”
“Which one is your favorite?”
That caused the prince to pause. His brows furrowed as his thumb habitually skated across her hand. He hums in recollection.
He daintily removes the book from her hands. His eyes skimmed the book as he reminded himself of his favorite childhood tale. He knew the perfect one to share with her. The only tale that filled his mind with hope for the future as he aged. The tale of a man, slack and tedious, and his goddess, mesmeric yet reticent, and their treacly longing for one another. The trickster still vividly remembers the day he heard his mother read the lovestruck man's words.
“My heart is so full of you I can hardly call it my own.”
How his brother and him tittered and cheered at the man's cheesily loving words.
Better than I could ever word it, he thought to himself, starting to feel his lover's moving thumb against his thigh.
Cheesy? yes. True? Undeniably so.
Opening the book, his thumb sped through the pages, until it stopped. The woman beside him pressed herself upwards towards him, in an attempt to get a sneak peek at what he was to present to her. He tilted the book towards her, as if he was proving he wasn’t trying to hide something. She takes the book from his giving hands, and dives in.
His fingers find their way into her mane, twirling within a little piece. His eyes monitor hers as every now and then they move from the right, down, and to the left. Loki could not help himself as he rested his head against hers, along with a tap of his lips against her temple.
Beautiful angel. My beautiful Angel.
The library is filled with nothing but two souls, two hearts, two sets of breaths, and occasional rustles of flipping pages. What more could be needed?
Time flows with the sound embers crackling within the chimney, creating a sweet ambience.
The goddess within Loki's arms turns, receiving a lifted eyebrow and hum of question from her god. She has a pensive look on her face. Her eyes then lift up to meet him.
“Have you ever heard of The Great Gatsby?”
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍

Plz explain then the travesty that is love and thunder
A trainwreck directed by an egotistical six-year-old in a leech of a man's body who thinks he's a screenwriter and still plays pretend with his uwu self-insert OC.
.... real talk, though, in short:
The real travesty of Love and Thunder is that Thor is already made of love and thunder, and simultaneously Jane is the love to his thunder, and the MCU, through taika wai-feck-off, decided he can be neither of those things, and have no nice things. Thor is the most tragic character in the ENTIRETY of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and yes, I do think more tragic than Wanda.
He has lost :
his entire home planet
his people
his entire family of four (no hela does not count he was not connected to her and should have been odin's sister)
before which he lost his brother (his platonic soulmate, to boot) a total of 3 times emotionally, two of those physically
he lost his ENTIRE friend group because his half-sister murdered Volstagg, Hogun and Faendral; he never reconnected with Sif
his only good mentor/parental figure (heimdal) was stabbed through the heart in front of him
he lost his dignity, his crown, his birthright (voluntarily and otherwise)
he lost his self-worth, his sense of direction (bc the writers legitimately thought his arc was about stepping down from the crown instead of making it his own and growing into it in his own way, by his own merits, at his own pace and gave it to some literally no-name side character that showed up for one movie and never respected thor in the first place to even earn his title from him smh)
and taika's idea of rectifying any of this .... is to give him some random child he doesn't know, that he doesn't care for, and manipulate him into taking her under his wing not because of the kindness and limitless love of his own heart even after shutting himself down post!endgame, but because jane asked him to as her dying wish — and then say that THAT is his happy ending.
Tell me why Thor, the longest standing of the Big Three, the king of the stars, the hero who is by all respects the embodiment of love, gets no companionship, no friends, no home, no place to belong, when Tony got a hero's send off and Steve got to be with an alt!dimension Peggy.

Sigyn on Thor x Jane Foster
Honestly, Sigyn was surprised at first, yet she came to accept it...and becomes on the fence about it
Well, despite a bumpy first impression after she was brought in to recover from the Ether ( due to Jane slapping Loki and all ), Jane Foster and Sigyn became allies with a shared understanding of each other. Jane Foster proved to be a kind and high intelligent woman who actually can bond with Sigyn with a sense of often feeling ' otherness ' in Asgard.
But
Sigyn already began to have visions that bad things can happen to the reunion of Thor and Jane Foster. In fact, as a volva, Sigyn sometimes has vague visions of several future events. She already knew that Thor and Jane Foster cannot last as a pair
But how can Sigyn tell Thor this when he was, for the first time in his life, being this truly happy with a romantic companion?
Sigyn first tells this confession to Loki ( in a visit to his cell then ), who immediately said, ' My oaf of a brother perhaps spent so much time traveling around the Realms that what he may be looking for is right there all along. '
' Perhaps Thor is desperate for a sense of belonging in Midgard, I'm sure....' Sigyn nodded thoughtful. ' And he found it in Lady Jane. He says that she is the first person he ever truly loved. '
' Father already had similar visions, yet my brother never listened. ' Loki scoffed
' I'm sure Thor will come around one day. ' Sigyn smiled in understanding
And then when Ragnarok came along, Thor was going through the rough after Jane Foster left him. Even after that, Sigyn held no true resentment to Jane, yet she tries to help comfort Thor as a friend and sisterly figure in that heartbreak
' I loved her like how my brother loves you yet she deserted me!! ' Thor wailed
' I'm sure you'll find someone much better for you, Thor. ' Sigyn tried to comfort him.
Fast forward later on, when Loki and Sigyn, who became rulers of the Multiverse finally heard of the death of Jane after all the hoopla in Thor 4, Loki and Sigyn anonymously sent flowers to her grave in her hometown in New York as a sign of respect despite it all.
Loki and Sigyn smiled to themselves as they watched from a distance that Thor and Sif are getting close after Thor 4.
