So crazy that when zero dawn came out I was like. That is a lesbian. I see it in her eyes…
And then Forbidden West confirms with the DLC,,,, so close to my birthday too I was eating GOOD
so true anon. as you can see, I stanned Vala/Aloy from day 1. I was in there in the first few hours of the game going omg she has a crushhhhhh. Anyway they're canon to me <3
That being said the difference in how Aloy acts with women versus men is so crazy, like I swear I was going 👀 at every interaction. She's just so warm and happy and open with the ladies, while with men she's so much more standoffish. The only guys that I think she's actually genuine with in the entirety of the two games are Varl and Erend, and maybeeee Kotallo by the end of HFW when he's all caught up to speed on what's going on. That being said though, those relationships once again read so differently to me than any she has with women. She'll be all flirty and blush and be cute with the girls, while with Varl/Erend/Kotallo I feel like it's very "yeah we are bros, we're cool" vibe they have going on, which is also good. She deserves to have friends!
Anyway I have been on lesbian Aloy train since day 1. Nothing else makes sense to me.

Chapter Three
If you had a home, it would be Bucharest, even though you despise the place. It was the first place you went when you got free, because you know he’s here somewhere, conducting his evil machinations from the shadows, shielded by layer after layer of vile men across the globe doing his dirty work. There are plenty of men out there deserving of your particular brand of justice, but no one more so than the Viper. Sometimes you think that, if you can just find him and take him out, you might be able to move on—try to make a normal life for yourself, whatever that looks like. You don’t allow yourself to think about what will happen if you finally achieve your life’s goal and it’s still not enough for you.
You remember everything about the day you learned of the Viper’s existence. You were just 7 years old, one of many little girls packed into a shipping container. You had no idea how long you’d been in there or how long you would be in there. It smelled rancid, and there was never a moment of quiet. Most of the girls were screaming or crying, but a few (like you) were silent, just observing. You don’t know who sold you from your orphanage and shipped you off to Dreykov and you never will. What you do know is that you had no family to miss and no one to miss you, so you didn’t understand what the others were so upset about. From the very beginning, you adjusted to life as a Widow almost effortlessly, which is its own form of tragedy.
Others, though, they were stolen away from people who loved them. This seemed a foreign concept to you when you heard about it from the tiny, sobbing girl huddled next to you in the shipping container—the girl who told you about the Viper, the girl who would become your first and only friend until Dreykov took control of all of your minds. Once you were given the serum, your memories were locked up inside your own heads—none of you could have talked about your past lives even if you’d wanted to. Your words were not your own. You didn’t know what was real and what was planted there. Sometimes you still don’t, and nothing terrifies you more than that.
You have no idea how many little girls the Viper funneled to Dreykov over the years, but it was probably a decent amount. His real bread and butter had always been sex trafficking, and he’s still doing it—on an even larger scale if your intel is correct (which, of course, it is). But he won’t be operating for much longer, not now that you’re so close you can almost taste the venom. You were barely 8 years old when you decided you would kill him, and now you have your chance. You are so close, closer than you’ve ever been, but he keeps slithering out of your grasp. And so you’re in Bucharest, again, looking for answers, again. But you have other business, too—almost as important, if not more so.
You head to the safehouse on the outskirts of the city. The building doesn’t look like much on the outside, but you’ve made sure the inside is comfortable enough for the women and children who live there. The matron greets you at the door and you hand her this month’s envelope, which contains enough cash to feed everyone for the next two months, keep the lights and the water on, and some extra to fix the plumbing issues that have been plaguing the building since you bought it.
The building can house about 40 people comfortably—it’s not nearly enough, and you’re determined to create as many safe spaces as you can, but it’ll do for now. For now, you have to select your charges according to a very strict criteria: they are all women and children (and the children of women) who have been bought and sold by the Viper. Some of them escaped on their own; some of them had assistance from you and the very few people you trust in the city. But all of them have suffered, and all of them have information that you need. Individually, it’s not much, but the more women you talk to, the more pieces of the puzzle you have to work with.
Besides for the cash drop, today you’re here to see the newest resident: Irina, a 19-year-old beauty your Bucharest contacts had managed to snatch from one of the sex clubs. Irina was delivered to the Viper at 12, and her life since then has been an endless nightmare that you can’t think about for too long without feeling physically ill. She’s sitting by the window in the living room, cupping a steaming mug of tea, when you approach her. You walk towards her slowly, and when Irina looks over at you, there is recognition in her eyes even though you’ve never met.
“You’re the Widow,” she says.
“Not anymore,” you reply. “But if that’s what you’d like to call me, go ahead. May I sit?” She gestures to the seat opposite her and you settle in for a chat. “I’d like to ask you some questions, Irina. Is that ok?”
“The others told me you’d be coming.” She speaks softly, her voice hoarse from screaming or crying or both. “I know what you’re trying to do. You’ll never catch him, you know.”
“I disagree,” you say, “but I need more information.”
“Alright,” she agrees, “if you think it will help,” and you begin the gentlest of interrogations.
Irina tells you that for the first several years after she was taken, she hadn’t heard anyone mention the Viper. She thinks that a lot of the girls probably knew about him or came directly from him, but no one would talk about it because it was too dangerous or traumatizing (or both). Things were different at her last club, though. When you ask her how many of the girls at Delirium knew about him, she tells you that several of them had passed through him somewhere along their journey. One of them—one far too young to be working there—even admitted that she’d been with him only two months earlier.
Finally, after all this time, you’ve got a clear line from point A to point B. You feel it in your bones that Delirium holds the answers, that if you can just get in and poke around a bit, you’ll be able to find him. You take Irina’s hands in yours and thank her for her help, and then you hear it: heavy footsteps coming down the hall. No woman or child in the building weighs enough to make a sound like that, and no men are allowed on the premises. You know who it is before you see him.
*****
Bucky watches you enter the building from his position on the roof across the street. His contact had told him that there were whispers of a Widow safehouse at this address, though no one would dare set foot within 10 blocks of the place to find out. Bucky doesn’t believe the rumor, though. He knows you work alone, that you pride yourself on it. He assumes this is just one of many places where your targets meet their ends, and he knows enough about Bucharest to know that there are a lot of men in this city who fit your modus operandi.
Still, something is off. It’s not an empty building. There have been women and children coming and going all morning, and nearly all the apartments seem occupied. Why would you choose to do your dirty work in a place with so much activity, with so many innocents around? That seems not only impractical but beneath even you. He’s lost in these thoughts, checking each window with his binoculars, when he settles on a beautiful young girl staring out the window, looking desperately sad. She turns to look at someone he can’t see, and then he sees you emerge from the shadows and take a seat opposite her.
There’s a softness to your face—a gentle kindness—that knocks the wind out of him. Bucky can’t take his eyes off of you, analyzing your body language and facial expressions to try to figure out what the hell is going on. This is the last thing he expected to see, and he tells himself that this woman must be hiring you for a job—except the woman is nothing but a broken child and doesn’t look like someone who would be taking out a hit on somebody (and certainly not someone who could pay for one).
It’s unnerving, watching you this way, and Bucky is no longer sure that what he’s doing is right. There’s something about your interaction with this girl that makes him feel like a voyeur, witnessing an intimate moment that he should not be seeing but that fascinates him nonetheless. Still, he’s here, you’re his mission—albeit one he took upon himself—and he needs to finish it. By this time, Natasha and Steve are almost certainly on their way, and Bucky needs to get to you before they show up. He went rogue and committed to this plan; now he just has to execute it. He’ll deal with the consequences later.
Bucky makes his way across the street and around the back, where children’s toys litter the small yard of weeds and dirt. When he gets to the back door, he notices that it isn’t the usual ancient rusted lock that one finds on the old buildings in this neighborhood; it’s brand new tech. There’s a pretty decent security camera setup around the building, too.
What the hell is this place?
Bucky has two choices: he can rip the door off the hinges, or he can scale the building and climb in the open window on the top floor. You’re going to be homicidally pissed either way, so he might as well not destroy any property—you may be a monster, but the other tenants here look like civilians, and he doesn’t want to sacrifice their security in his quest to bring you in.
Bucky makes it into the building and weaves his way through the hallways. Along the way, he runs into a few women, and each one of them freezes when they see him. They are shocked and deathly afraid—a look he knows far too well—and they scurry back to their apartments and lock the doors. With his hair cut short, baseball cap pulled down, and leather jacket and glove hiding his prosthetic, it doesn’t seem possible that all of these women would immediately recognize him as the Winter Soldier. That’s what it feels like to him, though, and it’s a gut-punch sensation he does not like at all.
When he gets to the sitting room, the girl you are with has the same look of terror, and for a moment, so do you. But you snap back to yourself quickly—having gone from soft to terrified to hostile within a span of about 15 seconds. Before he can react, you stomp towards him, grab him by the jacket, and hiss, “Not here.”
Bucky hears you speak to the girl in Romanian, “Don’t be afraid, Irina. He’s a friend,” although he knows you think him anything but.
The second you get him into the hallway, you’ve got your knife to his throat. Even with your cold blade nicking his skin, Bucky fights the impulse to disarm you. He doesn’t want to fight you. He knows that he’s intruded on something here, though he doesn’t know what, and he actually feels guilty. He could break you in half if he wanted to, but he lets you pin him to the wall—lets you feel like you’re in control.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” you growl.
“You know why I’m here,” Bucky replies, but he doesn’t know—not really, not anymore. “What is this place?”
“It’s somewhere safe,” you say, “or it was until you showed up. No boys allowed, Soldat. Time to go.”
You catch him off guard when you flip him around and throw him through the nearest door, and before he can regain his balance, you kick him straight through the window and into the yard two storeys below. The fall is nothing to Bucky, and he knows that you know that, but it certainly made a statement. He looks up at the broken window he’d just crashed through and sees you peering out with a satisfied smile on your face.
Bucky calls up to you, “I just want to talk.”
“Bullshit,” you snap.
“I mean it,” he says, and he actually does. “You can pick the place.”
He watches as you consider his offer, weighing your options—you obviously don’t trust him, but it’s clear that the sanctity of this location is important to you. Now that he’s violated it, you can’t just let him wander off. You agree to meet with him that evening—in public, at a club in Old Town.
“Come alone, Soldat,” you call down to him, “and if you tell anyone about this place, I’ll throw you out a higher window.”
Bucky tries to hide his tiny smile but he knows you see it, just like he sees the little quirk of your lip just before you disappear. He hoists himself off the ground and brushes himself off. When he turns to leave, he sees a little girl holding hands with her mother. He has no idea how long they’ve been standing there, but the girl is pointing and giggling at him.
The little girl asks, “What happened to him, mama?”
“The Widow’s bite,” she replies.
*****
“He’s not going to hurt her, Natasha,” Steve says as he prepares the Quinjet for landing.
“She might not give him a choice,” she replies, strapping herself in. “What the hell was he thinking coming here alone?”
“I don’t know,” Steve says. “There’s something about this girl that’s really gotten under his skin.”
Natasha looks at Steve, asking the question with her eyes she wouldn’t dare say aloud, and he picks up what she’s putting out.
“He’s not the Winter Soldier anymore. All of that programming… it’s gone. You know that. He’s just Bucky now.”
Natasha nods in agreement, but a part of her still has questions—not whether the deprogramming worked, she knows that it did, and she trusts Bucky with her life. No, Natasha’s concern is what is going on inside Bucky’s head. He was doing well, he was adjusting, he was finally ok, but the existence of you seems to have triggered something in him that the words never had. The words made him cold and empty and ready to comply, but you—you make him think, and Natasha knows how dangerous it can be to dwell too much on things you’ve left in the past.
When Steve and Natasha arrive at Bucky’s old apartment, it’s empty, but there are small signs of life—the indent of a head on the pillow on the floor in the corner, an apple core just starting to brown. He’s been there, and recently. Natasha and Steve don’t know who he would still have contact with in Bucharest, so they are left with nothing to go on. Bucky knows how to cover his tracks, and he left them just enough crumbs to get them to Bucharest but not enough that they could find him when they got there.
“He wants us to trust him,” Steve says, “to wait for him to bring her back here.”
“I can’t just sit around waiting for something to happen, Steve. I have a really bad feeling about this.”
“So what do you suggest we do?” Steve asks.
Natasha sighs and looks out the window. “I have no idea,” she replies, and that’s when she sees it: a piece of graffiti spraypainted on the wall of a building down the street—a coiled snake ready to strike.
The memory hits Natasha like a freight train. She knows that symbol. She knows what it means. She knows exactly who you’re looking for and it seems absurd to her now that she hadn’t thought of it before.
“Let me make a call,” she says. “I think I know why she’s here.”

The Fierce And Broken
2.07
Masterlist
“She’s going to break your heart.” You shoved Murphy playfully, as he continued to tease you. “I’m telling you, this could be the thing that pushes you over the edge.”
“The only thing that will push me over the edge is you John,” you quipped back.
“Raven hates me.”
You couldn’t argue with him. “Well...she has her reasons, but I’ll work on it.”Murphy let out a snorting sound. “Just give it some time, I at least want you to be civil.”
“You know you’d rather spend your time getting into trouble with me, than being bossed around by Jackson all day.”
You chuckled at his comment. Murphy was right, you had now become Jackson’s go to girl which didn’t bother you so much, but knowing you’d need to spend so much time with Abby was another issue.
“I’m never bored,” you shrugged.
A few hours prior you were surprised to see Major Byrne being brought into medical care because he had been punched in the face, but what surprised you more was finding out it was Raven that had hit him.
“Life down here is never going to be boring.”
He had a point. Lexa wanted Finn, and the grounders could attack at any moment. The mountain men still had the rest of your people, and Lincoln still had to be handcuffed like a criminal in case he turned back into a reaper. The chanting of ‘Jus drein jus daun! Jus drein jus daun!’ Seemed to be getting louder as well.
“One life for all of us...”
You stared at your friend wide-eyed. “John,” you said in a hushed whisper. “We can’t have this conversation.”
So much for getting Raven to like him.
“I know you are thinking the same as me Alba, you're just too afraid to admit it.” You pouted at his comment. “Does she make you happy?”
“She does,” Murphy tutted, causing you to smile. “What’s wrong with that?”
You knew from the mischievous look on his face, Murphy was still teasing you. “Nothing makes you happier than being back home in the ark.”
“Whatever,” you shook your head when you noticed Jackson waving you over. “I need to go, I’ll catch up with you later.”
“Hey, what’s going on?” You asked confused.
Raven looked furious as she walked besides Bellamy towards the ark station. She paused briefly to link her hand with yours, taking the hint you walked beside her.
Raven scoffed, “Jaha and Kane are back.”
Oh, this wasn’t going to be good.
“They are having some bullshit meeting that none of us can attend.” Raven continued ranting until you reached the door to the council meeting room. “Can anybody hear anything?”
You and Bellamy both shook your heads. Bellamy gave you a small smile when he noticed you and Raven holding hands. You’d never talked about how open you’d be about your relationship, but right now Raven needed you and that’s all that mattered.
You jumped back slightly when Abby opened the door. She looked just as taken aback to see three faces staring at her. Raven was quick to say what everyone was thinking, “What’s happening?”
“You were in there a long time,” Bellamy added.
Abby looked as if she was thinking up a new lie to tell. “There was a lot to talk about.”
“Well, what’s going on?” Raven asked, the irritation in her voice becoming more obvious.
“There was a lot to talk about.”
You frowned at the doctor repeating herself. She wasn’t prepared to give any of you real information. “We aren’t letting Lexa take him.”
Bellamy nodded in agreement. “Alba’s right, we are not turning him over to the Grounders.”
“If you give Finn over now the commander will know the power she has over us,” Abby glared at you as you continued to talk. “What happens when she wants somebody else to pay? What if it was Clarke’s blood she wanted?”
“Enough. Step aside now,” Abby said in a warning tone. “We’re all trying to find a way out of this.”
You stood in silence until all the council members were a good distance away. Bellamy let out a deep sigh, “they’re gonna give him up.”
Raven shook her head and began mumbling before walking towards the exit. “They can’t, we can’t turn on each other.”
You stayed back sensing Bellamy wanted to talk to you alone, and you were right. He leaned in closer to you, “do you still have your dad's gun?”
“Yeah?”
“Keep it close, I have a feeling we might need it.”
Gulping down you pushed the flaps to your tent open to see Raven rummaging around her bag for something.
“Fuck!” She hissed.
You moved fast to her side as she winced in pain. It’s fine she sighed, revealing the small drop of blood coming from her finger. “It’s just a paper cut.”
You held her gaze, “how are you holding up?”
“I’m not.”
At least she was honest. Raven was one of the strongest people you knew, and it was hard to watch her struggle. You sat down on the edge of the makeshift bed, and Raven did the same a few seconds later. “I just wish things were different, you know?”
You smiled softly, “things will work themselves out.”
You felt yourself melting into the touch of Raven’s hand as she brushed strands of hair behind your ear. Without warning her lips were pressed against your own. It was a soft and gentle kiss.
Leaning back you chuckled, “I almost forgot what I came to tell you. There’s plenty of bedrooms in the ark available now, we don’t need to stay out here in a tent anymore.”
“Is this just Jackson’s ploy to have you within shouting distance during the night?” She laughed.
“Most likely, but it will be so much more comfortable.” Standing up you noticed Raven’s finger still bleeding. “You sure you don’t want me to look at that? It’s maybe deeper than it looks.”
“It’s just blood they want.”
You kissed Raven on the crown of her head before adding another layer of clothing to your outfit. A longer top that would cover your waistline and hide your gun.
“Whatever happens Reyes, I’ll always have your back.”
“Likewise.”
Standing outside the drop ship you couldn’t help but feel uneasy. Somehow you, Raven, and Bellamy had managed to sneak away without getting noticed, but you had a feeling that wouldn’t last long.
You had your gun at the ready hearing somebody entering the drop ship. You stood confused upon seeing who it was. “John?”
“Ooh, hey, hey, hey.” He held his hands up defensively.
“Murphy. What are you doing here?” Bellamy asked.
Murphy looked at you, as he shrugged. “I was invited.”
“I thought we could use an extra gun.” Raven turned to look out the doorway. “Finn should've been right behind you.”
“Don’t worry. The spacewalker is gonna be fine.” Murphy said before coming and standing beside you. “Why do you look so surprised to see me?”
“I didn’t know you were coming, that’s all.”
Murphy frowned. “I assumed I was only asked because you’d told me and Raven to play nice.”
“We’ve had bigger things to worry about, I’ve not said anything.”
Something in the way Raven was looking at Murphy made your stomach tighten into a knot. It wasn’t the normal friendly Raven Reyes smile you would get, she was sending him a death glare.
“I’m going to take a look outside.” As you reached the doorway you noticed Finn carrying Clarke. “Somebody find me a rag, or a cloth!”
You ran beside Finn to inspect the bleeding wound on Clarke’s head. Bellamy quickly moved to be beside her once Finn got her inside. “What happened?”
“A Grounder hit her on the head.” Finn’s voice broke as he spoke, you couldn’t imagine the guilt he must be feeling.
“Clarke, can you hear me? You're gonna be fine.” You pressed the rag to her wound, and felt relieved to see the bleeding was stopping. “You just need to rest for a bit, okay.”
Out of the corner of your eye you noticed Raven and Finn talking. It was odd to you that she didn’t seem overly concerned about Clarke. You couldn’t help but overhear their conversation. “Hey. It's just a bump on the head. Clarke’s gonna be ok. Are you? We'll figure this out.”
Finn shook his head. “That’s what she said. Right before I almost got her killed.”
After a little while Finn began pacing back and forth. “Still nothing?”
You shook your head. Finn groaned into his hands as Raven tried to reassure him. “Just give her a little time.”
“I never meant to hurt you.”
Finn’s confession made you feel awkward, despite everything going on between you and Raven you still didn’t want to get involved in their past relationship in any way. You’d given anything to have Murphy or Bellamy beside you at the moment.
“I know. Truth is, things change. Maybe that's for the best.”
You hoped that was true. Raven’s ability to forgive, and show kindness to those that hurt her never failed to amaze you.
You focused on Clarke and tried your best to block out the ‘We’ll always be family’ exchange. It was a private moment for the two of them to share. You sighed with relief when Clarke opened her eyes, “take it easy when you sit up.”
“How’s the head?” Finn asked, just Murphy and Bellamy came back into view.
“Awesome,” the blonde mumbled.
Finn kneeled down beside her, “When you went down... I thought you were dead. Because of me.”
You stopped listening to the others talking when you noticed the worried look on Bellamy’s face. “What’s wrong?”
“We got company! Get out here. Get down. Grounders.”
You looked past his shoulder and saw multiple grounders. “We’re surrounded.”
“They’re not moving any closer, why?”
Bellamy gulped down before answering. “Staying out of range. Probably waiting until it's dark.”
“If we hit them now, at least we'd take them by surprise.” You didn’t like your friend's suggestion, but you knew Murphy had a point.
“We don't even know how many of them are out there,” Clarke said coldly.
Murphy shook his head before scoffing. “I’m not hearing any better ideas, Clarke.”
“We’ll give them something.”
The moment the words came from Raven mouth you instantly stepped closer to Murphy. “The only thing they want is Finn.”
“Finn wasn't the only one at the village.”
You now stood in-between Murphy and everybody else. “Don’t even think about it!” You seethed. How could she even be considering this? “Don’t take another step closer to him.”
Raven looked visibly hurt but still continued, “Enough Grounders saw him at the village. They’d believe he was the shooter.”
Murphy hissed from behind you, “sick bitch.”
Both Bellamy and Clarke tried to talk some sense into her, but she refused to listen. “They want a murderer, we'll give them one.” Raven raised her gun and pointed it in your direction. “Put your weapon down.”
Clarke tried again to talk her down. “Put it down, Raven. Like it or not, he's one of us.”
Brown eyes stared into yours, “Alba move out the way.”
“No, I’m not moving so you’d need to shoot me too.”
“Alba, just move!” Raven pleaded.
Your chest ached with a pain you hadn’t felt before. Raven meant a lot to you, but Murphy was your best friend. Her doing this to him felt like a betrayal. You also found it hard to believe she was still pointing the gun in your direction.
“Raven...this isn’t you. Just lower the gun.”
Finn snatched the gun from her hand. “Stop! Stop! We're not doing this. They’ve got us surrounded. The only thing we can do is stay. And defend this place.” He turned to face the rest of the group. “Murphy, go upstairs. Watch the rear. I'll take the lower level. You four, take the front gate. That’s the plan. All right?”
“I’m going with John.”
Once you reached the top of the drop-ship Murphy squeezed your shoulder. “Hey, are you alright?”
“It’s not me she wanted to hand over to grounders,” you shrugged. “I’m sorry John, I had no idea-”
“It’s not your fault Al, and as much as I hate her right now, I know she wouldn’t have hurt you.”
You said nothing. Deep down you knew Raven was acting out of love for Finn, he was her family. The only friend she had from the ark. What bothered you the most was that you understood why she did it. The impulse to protect the ones you love could cause you to do unthinkable things.
“I probably would have done the same for you,” you mumbled before looking out the window again. “Oh shit!”
“What?”
“Finn’s handing himself over to the grounders.”
You watched in disgust as grounders set up a post near the gates of camp. You jumped hearing a voice coming from beside you. “What is that?”
“They want us to watch.”
“We’re gonna get him.” Bellamy announced. “We’ll get in close and we'll hit them hard.”
You shared a knowing look with Clarke, both of you knew that was impossible. The only thing you could do was hope his death was quick.
Kane held onto Bellamy’s shoulder. “Son... there's thousands of them. Even if we could kill hundreds, they'd still wipe out this camp and your friend would still die.”
Clarke stood beside you, “I’m going to talk with the commander.”
“Don’t let him suffer,” you said quietly. “Try and convince her they don’t need to torture him.”
As Clarke explained her plan to the others Raven mumbled an apology to you before returning her attention to the blonde. “Give me your hand.” You watched Raven slide a small knife into her hand. “If she won't let him go, kill her. Things’ll go crazy, and we'll grab you and Finn. Clarke. You have to help him. I owe him my life.”
You silently linked Raven’s fingers with your own, and let her squeeze down tightly. She was afraid. No matter what happened before, and how angry you still were, she was going to need someone.
Minutes felt like hours as you waited for Clarke to emerge from the commander's tent and made her way towards Finn. She can’t save him. You felt Raven tense beside you. You chewed on your bottom lip as you waited for something to happen.
“I’m sorry Al, I’m so sorry.” Raven gasped under her breath as she shook.
You moved your grip to hold onto her tighter, “don’t be.”
Things were about to go from bad to worse real fast. No, no, no. When Clarke leaned in to kiss Finn you realised she was saying goodbye.
When the blonde stepped away from Finn his head fell down into his chest. He was dead. Clarke had killed him. Mercy kill.
You lowered yourself to hold Raven as she collapsed to the ground.
“No! No! No! No! No! No!”

UNEDITED
__
It was another mundane morning for the the Modern Crimes department. The room was oddly colder, and the civil servants occupying the compact and simple space secluded themselves with their own businesses. Mahoro Saeki sat on the couch partaking in an unhealthy snack she had shipped from a foreign country, Kamei Shinnosuke was browsing through the internet and more than once using to his advantage the global connection that comes with his access to the computer in order to satisfy his habits and indecent hobbies, Yumoto Teppei tuning in to the occuring horse race in an international channel in his device, Nakamoto Chosuke merrily bading his time reading through documents of recent illegal activities assigned to his care, Kiyomizu Yukihiro fiddling with yet another craft he made out of wood and glue, Kato Haru awaiting the telephone to sound off and have another indiviual summon him for a petty crime, and Kambe Daisuke seated far from the othere, legs crossed and chin resting on his knuckles as he appraised the tranquil area.
Haru slammed his hands on his desk and threw his head, moaning in disdain. "Why isn't the phone ringing?" Whined he as his posture was regained after a moment or so. His eyes, lit with pure frustration and impatience, glared at the telephone, as though threatening without verbalizing his objective would somehow make it ring. "Come on, ring, you stupid phone. How come you always ring whenever I don't want you to and don't when I do?"
"It's a slow day." Remarked Kamei, not takint his eyes off his computer as he regarded his colleague. "Try to enjoy it. You can have all your action some other day."
Haru leaned against his chair, back sliding against the backrest and the back of his neck hitting the edge of his leverage. "Not everyone has weird hobby to keep themselves entertained." Countered Haru, and a pout formed on the blond male's lips at the comment. "This job is what keeps me from going insane."
The offended male turned his swivel chair to face Haru, face scrunched with the same attribute he exuded, "Oi, don't say it like that. It's bad if you describe it like that."
"It's weird without even having to add the adjective." Saeki chimed in between her chewing, humming as the flavor of the chip formerly cinched in the possession of her fingers travelled to her taste buds.
Kamei whipped around to her position, shoulders tensr with the taste of truth and reality, both of which ignored in favor of living in bliss. "It's nor weird. It's perfectly normal for men to be looking at those . . . sort of inappropriate . . . videos." His words trailed off as he came to realization that his own defense betrayed him.
"I agree, but not at work." Haru simply retorted. "Would you want to see me cooking a whole feast inside the precint?"
Kamei looked up in ponder, mouth curling as his thought process stuttered before he presented his inquiry, "Do we get to taste the food you made though?"
Haru stared at the blond man with an impervious mask decorating his appearance, unimpressed with how the man broached the metaphorical event served to him. "Never mind." Shaking his head with amicable dismay, Haru turned his seat to a half circle, arms taking space upon the the armrests. His line of sight crossed over the facile yet minimalistic design of their room, the dull colors of the walls an addition to his disinterest until it landed on a brooding and well vested man.
The referred individual had boredom etched all over his striking features, the lack of events occuring in the Modern Crimes he could invest his time in had him in a bad mood although showcasing it to his colleagues was not his cup of tea. He and Haru were different, and how they handle themselves in this patience consuming day was one of them.
"I'm surprised you're still here." Haru conveyed with a vestige of astonishment. Truly the older man had no such ability that could understand the complexity of his wealthy counteepart. Most days, whenever days were a little too slow for his liking, he would up and retreat back to his home (mansion seems more of an appropriate term to refer to his household) but lately, he had been spending more time in the precinct, and Haru did not know how he should react to this development, or devolvement. His comment floated in the density formulating inside the office, and everybody present swiveled their heads to await his response. "I thought you'd be back in your house now. No cases today, it seems. No games to entertain yourself with today."
"Tell me something I have yet to know, Inspector Kato." Retorted Daisuke, and a tick mark grew on Haru's forehead, but his displeasure to his rude counter was ignored as Daisuke brought his fingers to his ear. He spoke, enough for others to hear his statements. "HEUSC, locate the nearest and most recent crimes occuring within the area."
Haru rose from his seat, alarmed. "Oi, what do you think you're doing?"
Daisuke did not respond to Haru and awaited his butler's relay of information. It did not take more than a few seconds until it has accumulated enough information to submit to his master. "A few streets away, a murder of two took place in a bar called Denyr. Investigation is in process currently."
Daisuke removed his hand from his earpiece and looked towards a flabbergasted. "You heard HEUSC. Let's get going." Daisuke stood up from the couch, dusting himself off before making his way towards the door.
"Wait a minute," Clamored Haru, and Daisuke looked over his shoulder to gaze at him. Haru gritted his teeth, irritated. "You can't just up and go and do whatever you want! This is not your call! We weren't called so we'll just disturb everyone else who's already there."
"Aren't cops allowed to interfere in crimes or disturbance in peace whenever they want? It's their job." Said Daisuke. "And besides, you're just as eager as I am to do something other than waste the entire day waiting for the phone to ring." Then he frowned. "Unless, I'm mistaken, of course. I have no qualms leaving you here. I'm sure you'll be useful for warming up your chair for tomorrow."
Haru growled at him. "You stupid . . . " He grunted and took his jacket off his chair. "Fine! I'll go with you, just to keep you in check!"
“Wait a minute,” Exclaimed Saeki, causing Haru and Daisuke to turn just as the latter had began turning the doorknob. The pink haired female abandoned her seat in favor of giving them a standing and patronizing narrowed glower. “Haru, aren’t you forgetting something today?”
Haru looked up in thought, trying to recall what Saeki was implying. Nothing significant manifested in his line of thought and he turned to his colleague with a frown conjuring in his mien. “Uh, I don’t think I’m forgetting anything.” Answered Haru.
Daisuke grunted, displeased by the interrupting. “Then let’s get going.”
Daisuke pushed the door open and stepped outside. Haru was following suit, shrugging his jacket on when Saeki called out for them once more, particularly the older officer. She had her arms crossed, an unamused pout forming on her brims. “Haru, don’t be stupid!” Clamored she. “I can’t believe you forgot what today is!”
Haru let out an exasperated sigh. “I honestly can’t remember what makes today so important.” Said he. “What is it?”
Kamei rolled his swivel chair back, making sure to reveal himself from any obstructions blocking his form. “Eh? You of all people forgot (Your Name) is coming back?” He conveyed and whistled right after. “That’s surprising, and disappointing. I’m sure she won’t be thrilled knowing you’ll be the last one welcoming her back after her hospitalization – her best friend, her partner in crime.”
Haru’s face fell upon acquiring the information relayed to him. His mind refreshed, finally remembering the time when you took your time from resting in the hospital just to tell him you were soon to be discharged after the outcome of you recklessly electing to throw yourself in front of him when the perpetrator pulled the trigger and shot a bullet his way. You were fortunate enough to have the cylindrical metal projectile imbedded nowhere near any of your vital veins, but due to your blood loss as well as the stacking strain and stress in your body forced you to be admitted in the care of the hospital. Haru was sure you were not supposed to move when you selected to take your phone and call him because he can hear the nurse in the other line scolding you, telling you to end the connection and to rest easy for the remaining week. He could only miss you more – he knew how much you hated doing anything but police work. Haru couldn’t believe he forgot about that since he distinctly remember hardly being able to be consumed by sleep when excitement for your return filled him.
“Shit, it’s today.” Cursed Haru as his shoulders dropped. He slapped his palm against his forehead, groaning. “My God – how can I forget? I’m the worst partner ever.”
Daisuke glanced at Haru, bemused. This was the first time he had heard over this (Your Name) woman. To him, Haru was always a lone wolf who preferred to be alone in his work unless he was required to have a companion with him. Or maybe because it was loyalty to his said partner kept him from going to missions with another. Daisuke looked back at Saeki and Kamei, “Whos (Your Name)?”
Haru wanted nothing more than to hide your existence from Daisuke. You already had so much in your plate and having a rich bastard interpolating with it was more than you can handle, especially after being hospitalized for quite a while. But it was inevitable for the two of you to meet seeing as Daisuke seemed to be taking a strong liking with playing cop and were in the same department as him. So resigning with the concept of keeping you away from Daisuke, Haru let out a deep sigh. “(Your Name) is another cop in our department. She’s my partner.”
Daisuke blinked at him. “Someone can actually put up with you?”
Haru angrily show his fist to Daisuke, irritation swathing his figure. “What was that? I should be the one saying something that! I don’t know how Suzue-san can put up with your rich ass!”
“Maybe if you’re rich, you’ll know.” Countered Daisuke.
Before Haru could grab hold of Daisuke’s collar, the latter efficiently evaded his attempt to do so and stalked off into the corridor, adjusting his pristine suit as he ventured away. “If you want to stay here and wait for your partner, fine by me. I can go alone and handle the murders all by myself.” He said without looking back to meet Haru’s hardened gaze. “I’m sure this (Your Name) person is more important than the safety of other Japanese citizens.”
“O-Oi, I haven’t even decided yet! Don’t assume I’m not going!” As much as Haru wanted to be the first person to greet you back to work, he too loved justice and cared about the people who wanted to live in peace. Clicking his tongue out of annoyance, he turned to everyone left in the room, and all of them returned his gaze with bemused expressions. “Kambe and I will be quick. We’ll just drop by the crime scene and then cime back. I’m sure I’ll be able to return here before (Your Name) can. If not, tell her I’ll be back soon.”

daisuke was never inclined to pursue a romantic relationship. ever since witnessing his mother died, his life had been reserved into finding the truth. but little did he know, his perspective in love and romance will change, and hary will most certainly freak the fuck out
the two police officers arrived in the crime scene in a short amount of time. with how daisuke was speeding, it was understandable they would get there fast and very understandable how haru's whole life flashed right before his eyes. daisuke was actually tempted to go even faster but opposed to it after a while as he did not want to deal more with haru's tantrum after he recovered.
of course when they arrived there, the detectives assigned to the case shooed them off because they're not part of the investigations.
daisuke knew how to deal with them, of course. he brandished stacks of yen to include them in the case and the detectives were like 👀 because you know, who doesn't want extra cash?
haru didn't bother complaning anymore and just went to work. he wanted to get back to the station as soon as possible and welcome you first. best friend efforts, get a best friend like haru.
haru: "i scout the ground floor, you go upstairs - AND NO SPENDING MONEY YOU RICH BASTARD"
daisuke:
haru:
daisuke:
haru:
daisuke:
haru:
haru: "and - "
daisuke left before haru could finish his sentence. really daisuke just stayed and didn't answer him just so he could piss haru off. it worked nonetheless and daisuke can hear haru cursing at him as he walked upstairs
but we all know whatever daisuke does pisses haru off so so it didn't matter.
daisuke went up to the second floor if the bar and he saw how thrashed the place was
overturned tables, fallen chairs, broken bottles, reeks of alcohol, smears and pools of blood but everything seemed pleasant to look at compared to the two corpses that laid out on the floor with police tapes around them. it looked like a small massacre occured in there, and thay surely was the case
head smashed, chunks of flesh scattered, broken skulls but daisuke merely stared at them blankly
he wasn't disgusted nor disturbed. seeing his own mother's corpse was enough for him to deem gore as just another normal addition to his life
like another detective, daisuke began looking for clues. he searched the entire place like the good and professional detective he is -
who am i kidding - the first thing he did once he sees the condition of the second floor was, or course, ask HEUSC for information. screw asking them from fellow detectives when daisuke has his own ai butler
ahh perks of being a kambe
daisuke: "heusc, tell me the exact number of people that attended this bar between nine am to twelve in the afternoon"
heusc: "understood"
it did not take long until heusc responded
heusc: "the exact number of people who attended genyr is twenty seven. twelve in the ground floor, twelve in the ground floor, fifteen in the second. there are two dead bodies found in the second floor - "
daisuke snapped his head to the ceiling as soon as he heard a soft creak emit from over him
daisuke stared at the ceiling for about a moment before askint heusc - "look at the footage from the surveillance cameras surrounding the the bar. how many people fled outside?"
daisuke heard another creek above him, and this time he was sure he wasn't alone
and his unknown companion would love to have him in the same state as the corpses
and heusc replied: "twenty four"
daisuke closed his eyes, "is that so?"
heusc: "one person remains inside the building"
daisuke dropped his communication with his ai and positioned himself to a clean posture, back straight and hands tucked inside his pockets
daisuke: "you can come out now. no use hiding. i know you're here"
no response
daisuke clicked his tongue, "i heard you moving around in the ceiling the entire time i'm here and it's only been two minutes. you're not as discreet as you think you are. reveal yourself now and i'd consider lessening your time in jail."
still, silence greeted him
daisuke was growing irritated by the lack of answer given to him.
daisuke: "a coworker of mine needs to be back at the station right now for a reunion with his girlfriend - " daisuke paused as he imagined haru having a girlfriend. " - so let's keep this short and simple. surrender and as i have promised earlier, i will try to get you lesser years in prison"
but daisuke was not intending to keep this promise. even he knows giving a generous offer to criminals would weaken their resolve
but again, there was no answer
but he expected this
he always does to every case he gets handed with, or forced his hands to
daisuke observed the ceiling through a blank lense before sighing "if this is how you want things to go down, then so be it"
daisuke touched his earring and deliberately increased the volume of his voice as he spoke to heusc - "heusc, purchase the bar and its neighboring buildings and set a bomb for twenty minutes. tell the others to get out of here as soon as possible" he sneered at the ceiling. "i don't mind dying inside this bar with the suspect. it's the norm for a police officer to risk theit lives in the name of justice"
he sounded like haru for a moment there
heusc responded immediately: "understood, sir. balance: unlimited"
it was after that statement did a response come to light
the ceiling above daisuke broke as a firm kick broke through the fragile material
daisuke jumped away before a slim figure of a man dropped down from the hole
before daisuke could move, the man dashed pass him and out of the room, his oustretchrd hand barely grazing the bloodied clothes he wore
daisuke didn't waste time and recovered from his stunned state before following after the perpetrator
daisuke kept losing track of the man from time to the time and when he got down to the grounr floor, he saw no sign of him
nobody was present inside the bar anymore per order of heusc and money
all except for haru of course who immediately ran out of the place he was scouring and back to the main room
daisuke knew he heard heusc's order to leave the building but
haru will always be haru
haru, upon seeing daisuke's solemn state, asked: "what happened"
daisuke: "the man - did you see him?"
*haru, confused noises*: "what man? who?"
daisuke: "the man who killed the peple upstairs - he was still here and he ran down, didn't you hear him?"
haru: "no, i didn't - " his sentence was cut off when a figure suddenly lunged at him
lo and behold the criminal who was hiding behind an overturned couch
haru and the man tumbled down to the ground, fists and feet swinging wildly. daisuke watched as haru struggled to acquire dominance over the situation
daisuke: "heusc, identity of the killer"
heusc: "sakatoshi matona, a former bouncer for genyr until he was let go without reason"
haru strung out profanities and grunts as he and the matona rolled on the floor, trying to pin the other down. with a boost of strength, matona managed to get the upper hand and he put all his weight on haru. his hands found haru's neck and began strangling him
daisuke was like aren't you cop? win you idiot in the inside and haru was like aren't you a cop? help me you bastard in the inside. just the norm for the reckless and seemingly suicidal cops
haru: "gwet hiff op opp mii"
heusc: "transalation: get him off of me"
daisuke took action after that. he pulled matona off of haru and immediately socked him on the face
matona stumbled back but daisuke underestimated the time he would tske to recover and he tumbled back as the criminal retaliated with a punch of his own
daisuke dodged the assault but in the process, temporarily losing his posture. matona took this as an opportunity to continue his line of attacks, landing a few good hits on daisuke but majority of the time, he failed
daisuke recovered from the initial shock matona has inflicted him with and returned to momentum ane he was preparing his attack when bam - haru kato
my day be so fine then boom - haru kato
daisuke's eyes widened when haru, after standing up, tried to lock matona's arms to prevent him from moving anymore but instead, his chest met with an elbow
air was taken away from him and haru staggered backwards, clutching his chest and matona seized him
daisuke cursed and shot forward to help him but stopped when matona took haru's gun away from him and pointed it towards haru
matona: "stand back or i'll shoot"
haru raised his hands in surrender but daisuke did not
and haru was: ?????!!!!! tryna get me killed????!!!!
daisuke: "i can keep my promise, you know"
matona pointed the gun at daisuke
matona: "how can you when you're just a lowly cop?"
daisuke took out his cigar and lit up
daisuke: "yes, because a lowly cop can just buy buildings with a single command from an ai"
matona growled "rich, snobby, uncaring, and a liar. you're just the same like the people i killed"
daisuke opened his mouth to reply when a feminine voice cuts in
"finally, a confession. now we can get this over with"
before anyone could react appropriately, matona felt a hand take hold of his stolen gun and tore it away from his grasp before a heel sunk into his stomach, causing him to spit out blood
daisuke saw her, a woman standing with such grace, confidence, and strength with a gun in her hand and a smirk on her brims
daisuke couldn't move not from shock, but with admiration
who was this woman?
and what was this thudding in his chest
doki doki
his face was hot, very hot
and so was the woman
"( YOUR NAME )???"
daisuke turned and saw haru gawking at you
haru: (@[]@!!)
daisuke: (--)
also daisuke: is that really (your name)? haru's partner? haru's girlfriend?
daisuke: hmp hmp(`ー´)
you turned to both of them and daisuke was blown away with you that he nearly fell
he thinks you're very pretty
V E R Y
doki doki
you smiled widely at them: "haru, it's so nice to see you again" and then you turned to daisuke
daisuke froze and his cigar dropped
you glanced back at haru: "you already replaced me?"
haru: "tf no! rich boy here wanted to plays cops for a while so he went to our department. you know me, i could never replace you"
daisuke glared at haru
it waa obvious he was trying hard not to upset you (though you didn't look like the type who would get easily offended)
plus he's pushing a single and narrow minded narrative about him towards you. what if you hate him?
but you didn't and merely smiled at him, ignoring the criminal trembling from the pain of your kick
you: "my name is (your name)"
daisuke.exe has stopped working
jk that won't happen to daisuke
for now at least
daisuke: "kambe daisuke"
you, smiling: "nice to meet you, kambe daisuke!"
haru: "how did you find us here?"
you: "was gon get a drink before i head to the station but then i saw police tapes and stuff"
haru looked alarmed: "YOU WERE GOING TO DRINK RIGHT AFTER YOU GOT RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL"
you turned away from them, facing matona: "you can continue scolding me after we arrest this killer, haru. sorry in advance for haru, daisuke. he can be pretty overbearing and protective"
daisuke: "i can tell"
haru was offended okay?
you were already teaming up with daisuke to tease? betrayal.
haru: "how dare you (your name) - "
you did not let haru to finish his sentence and starter beating the shit out of matona like DAMN GHORL
daisuke and haru watched from a distance as you expertly used the gun to your advantage without pulling the trigger. you used the metal to hit him in fragile parts of his body in order to limit his movement
daisuke gawked at you
he has never seen such fluid execution for an arrest
daisuke looked: O-O
haru, seeing him, smugly crossed his arms and said: "you get to see how amazing (your name) is as a cop. she's my partner"
just as he said that, you pinned the criminal down on the ground, gun discarded, your one hand straining his arm behind his back and the other pinning his other hand on the ground
you: "i just got out of the hospital. how did i still win?"
daisuke suddenly frowned
oh, right. she's haru's girlfriend.
several minutes later, you successfully managed to arrest sakatoshi matona and the other detectives came to take him. but of course, you made sure you, daisuke, and haru were getting the recognition
like hell you were letting someone else get the glory for your efforts
you returned to daisuke and haru, smiling
they were talkiny when you hugged haru from behind
you: "haru i missed youuuu. it was lonely without your annoying butt looking out after me all the time"
haru flushed red
haru: "if you didn't catch the bullet for me then - "
you: "and let you get shot instead? nu uh, no way. i would take any bullet for you. right, daisuke?"
he felt speechless when you regarded him
daisuke didn't know what else to say to you so he said: "yes, i agree"
but somehow the the thought of you getting shot angered him
haru looked at daisuke, thinking: he acting kinda sus rn
you turned to haru and the two of you began catching up, smiling and laughing
you two looked comfortable so with each other. you two were carbon copies of one another, except you were ten times better, sorry haru
you two were made for each other
no wonder you're his girlfriend
you: "how's everyone in the precinct?"
haru: "still the same. everyone missed you"
daisuke: "are you two together?"
haru: 👁👄👁
you: *long ass laughing emoji*
haru turned very red, shouting: "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT IDEA"
daisuke: "you said you were partners - "
you: "i didn't know you liked me that way, haru - "
haru: "NO I DON'T KAMBE WAS JUST BEING A DUMBASS"
you tittered and turned to daisuke: "no, we're not together, kambe-san" you tucked a lock of hair behind your ear. "sorry if i scared you"
daisuke felt relief wash over him
daisuke: "i was just wondering. you and haru seemed very close so i was just making sure i wasn't misunderstanding"
daisuke froze with wide eyes when you leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek
and you whispered to him: "gotta work on being discreet when you look at me. i can practically see you chasing after me in the future with how you were looking at me. i'm flattered you find me that fascinating"
you turned to the shook haru: "i like this one, haru. we should bring him along with our cases"
you regarded them both: "anyways, i'll be heading over to the station first. i can write up the report and have man behind bars quickly. don't worry though, i'll make all three of us have the glory. i trust that you two can finish up here without me?"
the two men wanted to say something but both of them were stunned. you just kissed daisuke on the cheek and your best friend saw it. daisuke's eyes were wide and haru had his jaw dropping down
they still didn't say anything when you bid them farewell and just watched as you went to a police car with another cop where matona was and sped off
daisuke can feel his heart hammering against his chest
what was this feeling? it was so strange and . . . it's just strange, but he was not oppossed to thie feeling
in fact, he wanted more of it. as long as it came from you, it was fine
haru, however, was not
haru looked like he had seen the most horrifying thing ever
B E T R A Y E D
his best friend and this cop wannabe?
D I S G U S T H A N G
daisuke cleared his throat and turned to haru to say something but was met with a finger pointed at his face and haru looking vexed
haru: "you - "
the bar and the buildings nearby exploded beforw haru could say anything more. everyone except for daisuke was startled and sunk down on the ground
daisuke was not though. and he remained standing. not for the reason he forgot about the bomb he instructed heusc to plant but because
- you kissed him and he was self destructing
daisuke held back the smile threatening to tear through his face
haru: "w-what was t-t-th - "
daisuke: "i forgot about the bomb, sorry"

hi fiona!! can't wait to see all the prompts you'll write! how about 21 for rex and ahsoka?
!!! kt!!! thank you so much for the ask!!! asjkdlkas someone tell me how to write less please AKJSDSAKK
21. "Why are you always so reckless, huh? Do you ever think about what would happen if something happened to you?" // from these prompts! // read it on ao3!
They limped—or at least, Ahsoka limped—up through the forest and eventually emerged at the edge of the hill where peach-orange grass gave way to a navy cliffside. There was a jagged path carved out, wide enough for them to get across in 2, maybe 3 lines. She could make out dark blotches a few miles away—Anakin’s ships. So they had been able to land. That made one of them.
“We should go around,” Rex’s gruff voice said as he came up behind her. Ahsoka looked over her shoulder at him. He eyed the dropoff warily. “There are rockslides this time of year and I don’t trust this cliff.”
Ahsoka turned back, head craning up to examine it. “That’ll take too long.” She nodded toward the other ships in the distance. “Anakin needs our help and this is the fastest way to the landing zone.” She stepped onto the path, one hand on the cliffside to steady herself.
Rex moved forward. “Commander—”
“It’s fine, Rex. We have to help Anakin.” She tried to ignore the scorching pain shooting up her leg. Her shoulders moved with a breath. “Trust me on this one.”
She was stopped by a warm hand on her arm. “It’s not safe. Especially with our wounded.” Ahsoka could feel his eyes on her leg. “We can’t help General Skywalker if we’re dead.”
“Rex—”
“All due respect, Commander, trust me on this one.”
Ahsoka gritted her teeth, shifting once again to face him. Her mind briefly raced through alternatives, outcomes, a headcount, and with one more twinge in her ankle, she sighed and relented. “You’re right.”
Rex gave her a nod and turned to direct the troops back around.
Her eyes found the horizon once more and Anakin’s ships that rested there. She had a bad feeling about this battle. Something was going to go—
“Commander?” came Rex’s voice at her shoulder. Ahsoka didn’t look at him, instead closing her eyes, brow furrowed as she listened, as she felt. The ground shook lightly under her feet, the faint screech of metal against metal, metal against stone. “What is it?”
Ahsoka came up from beneath the waves of the Force, eyes opening as she unhooked her lightsabers. “We’ve got company.” As soon as the words left her mouth, a battalion of black-plated droids materialized around the curve of the cliff. They stopped in what seemed like surprise, and there was a shout from Rex. Her side shot first, quick as they’ve always been, and in a breath, Ahsoka was deflecting bolts from every direction.
It was a pretty typical battle, as far as strategy goes, and Ahsoka found herself getting lost as the droids approached and withdrew in turn, her spinning lightsabers loops of light in clouding dust.
Rex appeared at her side. “What’s the plan?”
“You said there are rockslides here?” She sliced through another two droids.
He stopped shooting, incredulous gaze boring into her even through his helmet. “No.”
Ahsoka twisted in front of him, habitually falling back into their familiar sword-and-shield technique. Rex’s pistols were in the air once more, his aim deadly even as he kept his focus on their conversation.
“We wanted to go around anyway. Why not block them here?”
A shot skimmed off Rex’s shoulder. “You’re not serious. That’ll get us all killed.”
“No, it won’t,” Ahsoka insisted. “Just get all the men off the path and onto the hill. I’ll bring the cliff down in front of us.”
She risked a glance behind her and, seeing that everyone was off the cliffside already, Ahsoka pushed Rex back. She steadied herself in the Force and pulled.
The ground rumbled, there was the sound of crunching metal, and then Rex’s hand was on her arm, trying to tug her away. There was a shrill gasp in the Force and Ahsoka saw a massive column of rock headed straight for them.
“Rex!” she shouted, throwing herself into him and sending him to the ground a few feet away. She scrambled forward, and the rock collided with the spot where they had just been standing.
But Ahsoka hadn’t moved far enough.
The column had completely smashed through the path and the rest was crumbling away. She tried to run, but her broken ankle clipped the edge, her stomach dropped, and then she was falling.
She blindly reached out, scrabbling for purchase on the cliff, but gravity’s grip was not so easily curbed.
“Ahsoka!”
Rex was leaning over the side, hand out; Ahsoka’s hand brushed his, fingers slipping past each other, just too far to reach, and she plummeted. Wind rushed past, rocks cascading down alongside her. She saw Rex’s well-worn helmet grow smaller and smaller, and then something slammed into her and the world cut to black.
--
Someone was screaming. There was a ringing cutting through Ahsoka’s brain and everything was muffled as she blinked squinting eyes open, but she knew she could hear screaming. It got louder as she tried to move her legs—tried, because she couldn’t even feel her legs, couldn’t feel anything but searing, scalding pain up her spine, down every nerve—and when she gasped in a breath of dust, the screaming paused and turned to coughing. Ahsoka’s chest shuddered, her throat scraped so raw she thought she might vomit.
Then she opened her eyes fully, saw the blood pooling beneath herself, and did vomit. Pounding head, pounding heart, Ahsoka weakly tilted her gaze up. Far above her was blurred movement, a wave of white dotted with blue swirled down and around and back up again. Her neck ached so much it tingled, turning numb. Her wrist vibrated and beeped.
Wait, that wasn’t right. Wrists don’t normally do that. She slowly moved her arm up onto her stomach, saw the faint blink of green that was, she realized after a few stuttering breaths, her comm. Another second in agony and she clicked the call through, surprised it was still working at all.
“Ahsoka!”
Rex.
It was Rex. Some of the fear swelling in her throat eased at the confirmation of his presence. Rex was there. He’d know what to do.
“Ahsoka? Can you hear me?”
She licked cracking lips. “Yeah.” She hoped her broken voice would carry. Wondered if her broken body would need to be carried too. “Yeah, I’m here.”
A sigh of relief made static on the other side. “Are you alright?”
Ahsoka took stock of herself. Broken leg, obviously, maybe both. A concussion if the pain-filled sleep tugging at her was any indication. And she was pinned—half her body nearly crushed under the immense pieces of cliffside that’d fallen with her. Jagged stone cut into her shoulder.
“Ahsoka?”
She hesitated. “I could use some help.”
A muffled swear, a shouted order, the sound of a hundred quick, urgent footfalls. His voice was tight when he spoke again. “We’re coming to you now. Can you walk?”
Ahsoka shook her head before she realized that was a bad idea—her vision whited out at the corners—and that he couldn’t even see her anyway. “No.” Her head swam. When had it gotten so cold outside? “I’m pinned. I think my leg’s broken.”
“What about the Force?”
Oh. Ahsoka had forgotten about that. But when she dipped into its familiar depths, sleep, the dangerous kind, pulled at her—down, down, down—until Ahsoka gasped and ripped herself away. Adrenaline hammered her heart. “No. Don’t wanna risk it.”
Rex didn’t bother asking for further information. The footsteps got faster.
“Are you okay?” Ahsoka asked softly.
“Yes, sir,” came the rough reply.
She nodded, forgetting again that he couldn’t see. “Good.”
“Good?”
Ahsoka blinked. “Yeah. That’s kind of what I was going for.” Her chest tightened, ribs shifting; she should probably stop talking.
“You can’t just—” Static crackled over the comm. They must’ve hit a deadzone.
Ahsoka drifted her eyes along the crimson sky, sinking in and out of unconsciousness as she waited.
“—mander? Commander?”
“Here,” she said belatedly, her brain coming back to the surface. “‘m here. ‘m fine.” Trees rustled in the wind. Ahsoka thought she could hear them coming, not just over the comm, but actually hear them, in the distance. She suddenly remembered where she was. “Gonna try to get out.”
Rex’s voice bit through the air immediately. “No, don’t. You’ll hurt yourself more. Just stay awake.”
She shifted, readying herself to try pulling her leg out. “’s fine, I got it.”
“Commander, stay exactly where you are.” His voice was clipped. “Don’t try to move.”
Ahsoka groaned, lightning zipping up her leg. “I got it.” She was starting to sweat, despite the cold. It had been cold, right?
“Ahsoka, stop!”
And she did, blinking in shock.
Rex’s tinny voice continued, wired anger cutting through the comm. “Why are you always so reckless? Do you ever even think about what would happen if something—” Ahsoka couldn’t tell if he’d cut himself off or if they’d hit another deadzone, but either way her head throbbed with pain and guilt.
“Sorry,” she mumbled back. She was completely spent of energy, spent of strength, and her body ached with agony.
“—and on the cliff—” Rex’s voice suddenly cut back in.
“Wasn’t trying to be reckless,” she interrupted, voice breathy. There was a crucial piece of information he was leaving out. “Trying to save your life.” Ahsoka dropped her head onto her arm.
There was the sound of shuffling, static rocks shifting beneath far-away feet. “What about saving your own life?” Past the haze slowly encroaching on the world, Ahsoka wondered why he was so angry with her. She didn’t think she’d ever heard him so emphatic. He’d scolded her plenty of times—follow orders this, don’t run off looking for trouble that—Ahsoka should’ve been used to it. But still.
Cynicism seeped out of her exhausted mind. “Can’t save everyone.” It was something Anakin had told her, back when she’d first become a Padawan, back when she was determined to get everyone out of this alive. When she’d thought that was even an option.
“You can try.”
There was a pause, and in it, Ahsoka breathed, her eyes slipping closed.
“Ahsoka!”
Rex was shaking her shoulders, his face, bare of its helmet, twisted in worry above hers. Ahsoka’s heart shuddered, stumbled, like it’d just remembered that it had to beat. Her hand instinctively clutched his arm.
“You’re alright.” People were moving, pushing the rock off her, and Rex’s voice broke through the onslaught of pain. “We got you.” His hand was on her shoulder. “I got you.”

Chapter 4: On the Run
It is strange how quickly your whole world can change.  One minute you’re planning a wedding and living in the Avengers Compound in Upstate New York, an official agent for the Avengers.  The next you’re considered a war criminal and you’re on the run with your fiance and three other people, one of them who happened to be Captain America.
It had been like a slow-motion car wreck watching everything go wrong.  First, there was a completely unnecessary fight against your friends in the airport because no one wanted to listen to each other.  Then you’d been arrested by people who you’d once considered not just friends, but family.  Then you’d been shipped off to some secret supermax prison in the ocean for enhanced individuals with no trial, even though you weren’t enhanced.  Then Steve Rogers had busted you out and you’d ended up on the run.
You were with Sam though, and you’d rather be with him on the run knowing you were on the right side of the fight than safe in New York alone.
You’d all been trying to make the most of your time working as vigilantes.  There had been a lot of alien tech ending up in the hands of criminal organizations and Steve had been leading your little band of merry men to go and get it back.
Things weren’t easy for any of you.  There was a lack of money coming in and everyone had had to quickly withdraw their entire savings before the government blocked all of their accounts.  Thankfully Steve’s pension from the army had accrued a lot since he’d been lost at sea, but he hadn’t been able to withdraw all of it.
It had meant that a lot of the income came down to you, as out of everyone - you were the least recognizable.  Yes, there were alerts out for you, but you were a spy - you knew how to disguise yourself and you knew where to find under-the-counter work when needed.
The trick was never staying in the same place for long and returning to countries that didn’t sign the accords.  Even those weren’t safe for long - Ross was not above sending people into countries illegally to detain people who he was hunting - Bruce Banner was a testament to that - but they were safe for a little while and meant that once a month rather than sleep in the stolen Quinn, you could splash out and get a hotel.  Although you were pretty sure that Wanda was often sleeping in hotels - with Vision most likely - anytime she said she needed to have some alone time.
You woke up and stretched on the cold metal floor of the Quinn, your spine popping loudly.  Sam shifted in close to you, his arm draping over your sternum and his hand resting on your neck so his fingertips lightly caressed your jaw.  “Was wondering when you were gonna wake up,” he murmured.
“Is it late?”  You asked, blinking your eyes in the dark of the jet.  There was light coming in through the cockpit window, but it was low and you couldn’t tell if that was because it was early or just overcast outside.
“Not particularly,” he said, his hand running down your neck and over your collarbone.  “You just normally sleep like shit in the Quin.”
“Who says I didn’t,” you grumbled, rolling in toward him, and breathing him in.  There was an acrid sting to his scent thanks to the fact that neither of you had showered for a few days.  You were all due for a trip to somewhere remote with beds and good water pressure.  Steve had said maybe going back to Wakanda for a few weeks was in order.  He didn’t like to go too often because T’Challa had already extended himself above and beyond anything that was fair to ask of him just by harboring Bucky.  But it had been over six months since any of you had been there, and you had accumulated a lot of alien technology that you knew Shuri would love to get her hands on.
Sam chuckled and his hands ran down to yours, linking your fingers together, and playing with the engagement ring that sat on your finger.  “What if we just get married in Wakanda?”
You looked up into his eyes.  They looked black in the dim light and when he smiled at you, the corners of them crinkled slightly.  “I’m not sure that’s what you really want,” you said.  “Don’t you want Sarah to be there?  And the kids?”
Sam frowned.  Sarah’s kids had been two and four years old when you’d gone on the run and every month that he missed of their lives hurt him.  He’d been sending money back to his sister to keep the family business running back when you’d both had actual jobs, but these days he was barely scraping by himself.
He sighed and nuzzled into your neck.  “I just want us to start our lives together.”
“I know, but life had other plans,” you said.  “I love you and I don’t need to get married to know that.  It’s not going to change anything.  We will still be on the run and we won’t be able to build a stable life and have kids.”
Sam sighed and leaned his forehead against you.  “I know, but I want you to be my wife.”
“I am your wife,” you said.
“Not legally,” he said.
“We don’t do anything legally at the moment,” you said, playfully.  When Sam didn’t laugh, you sighed and wrapped your arms around him.  “Sam,” you said.  “If you really want to get married in Wakanda, I’ll do it.  I’m sure I can get something nice to wear together, and Nat and Wanda can be my bridesmaids.  I’m sure given how close we’ve all gotten they would be who I’d have picked anyway.  Just like I know you’d have Steve be your best man.  But I know you.  This isn’t really what you want.  You want the big wedding down in Louisiana like you always planned.  With the catering done using fish that were caught by your family’s trawler and you want AJ and Cass to be our little ring bearers.  And I know… I know that if you do this - if we get married in Wakanda without Sarah, she’ll murder you. She will murder you and then disown you post humus.”
Sam started laughing.  “Yeah, she will.”
“Sam, I love you.  I’m yours, no matter what,” you said.
“I know,” he replied with a sigh.  “I know we’re doing the right thing now.  I mean - Tony can get all on his high horse about how important the accords were, but he still broke them immediately.  That fucking kid he brought to the fight is still breaking the accords and living his best life.  I just… I wish we could have both.”
“So do I,” you said.  “I hope they come around, but I’m scared that the thing that makes them realize how wrong they are is gonna be real bad.  Like; world-ending bad.”
“Yeah, me too,” Sam said.  “Which is why I’m doing this.”
“So, what do you want to do?  You asked.
“I guess… we can wait,” Sam relented.  “But maybe we can see if there’s any way we could do something small that we could sneak Sarah to?  Like … she goes to the Maldives and who just happens to be there getting married?”
“They’ll be watching her,” you said.
“Yeah, I know,” he said.  “But we can look into it.”
“Yeah, okay,” you agreed.  “We’ll look into it.”
Sam leaned in and kissed you deeply.  You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and pulled him down on top of you, so the full weight of his body pressed down on the cold metal floor of the jet.
Sam groaned softly and rolled his hips, his cock starting to harden against your thigh.  “Where’s Steve?” you mumbled against his lips as he continued to kiss you.  He was currently the only unknown factor as Wanda was on another of her ‘retreats’ and Natasha was dealing with some ‘personal things’ that she wouldn’t tell the rest of you about.  He pulled back and smirked down at you.  “Why?  You want him to watch?”
“No,” you giggled, smacking his arm.  “I want the opposite of that.”
Sam laughed and nuzzled at your neck, pushing his hands up under your sleep shirt. “On his morning run.  Just you and me, baby.”
You kissed him again - more frantic this time, and your hands dug into his shoulders.  Sam began to squeeze and massage your breast as he ground down against you, sending a warm buzz through your body.  He began to move down your body, taking his time to both undress you and kiss every part of you.  By the time he was crouched between your spread legs, your whole body prickled like a live wire.
He gripped your thigh with one hand and reached up and began massaging your breast with the other as he dipped his head down and began lapping at your cunt.  You moaned and arched your back, gripping his bicep with one hand as you reached over your head with the other.  A hot current ran through you as Sam focused on your clit, sucking and nipping at it as he squeezed your breast.  He moaned into your cunt, the sound sending vibrations through you.  You slowly fell apart under him, writhing as a coil of hot pleasure wound itself tightly in your core.  Sam thrust two of his fingers inside you, and as soon as they hit that sweet spot inside you you cried out loudly and came hard, your whole body shuddering as your orgasm crashed through you.
Sam sat up onto his knees and looked at you.  “Gonna have to be a little quieter,” he said tapping your thigh.  “Steve’s got pretty good hearing you know.”
You scrunched up your face.  “Maybe you need to gag me.”
Sam chuckled and bit his bottom lip as you got on our hands and knees.  Even on the bedroll, your knees were going to hate you after this, but right now you didn’t care at all.  Sam moved up behind you, held onto your hips, and thrust hard into you.  You stumbled forward a little but managed to catch yourself on the cargo trunk in front of you.  He began to fuck you hard immediately, not even waiting to steady yourself.  You cried out and clenched around him as it felt like a hot shard tore through you.
Sam leaned over you, kissing your neck and shoulder, as he put his hand over your mouth.  “Hush now,” he growled in your ear.  “You don’t want to wake up the whole forest.”
You moaned into his hand and opened your mouth, letting him push two of his fingers inside for you to suck on.  He railed into you, his hips moving quickly and erratically as your bodies slapped together.  You tried to bounce back on him, adding to the pleasure coursing through you, but it wasn’t long until your arms gave out and you were helpless under him as your orgasm built.
As his hips began to stutter, Sam wrapped his arm around your waist and began to rub your clit.  It was all it took for the dam inside you to burst.  You buried your face in your arm and cried out as you came, clenching around Sam’s cock.  He began to thrust even more erratically as he chased his own release and with a jerk and a low groan he came, releasing inside you.
You let yourself flop completely on the floor, breathing heavily and feeling a little high on endorphins.  “You think Steve is out there and heard us?”  You asked as Sam lay back down next to you and kissed your shoulder.
“Caught the tail end of the show!” Steve yelled, his voice muffled through the jet walls.
You and Sam both broke down into peels of laughter and you hid your face in Sam’s chest.
“Get a move on, would you?!” Steve yelled.  “We have a lot to do today.”
You laughed even harder and Sam held you close, pressing a kiss to your forehead.  “Come on, duty calls,” he chuckled.
You let him help you up and the two of you both started cleaning yourselves up the best way you could.  You hoped to god that Steve would say it was time for a break soon, but in the meantime, you were glad you were here with Sam.

Omg give us ur rant abt hating d*rklina as a ship.. im petty
Okay Anon, so i saw this the other day and I wasn't in the right headspace to answer but i am now!
So to start off, I am firmly in the ship and let ship category. You like a ship, i don't care. That doesn't mean i won't rag on the ship itself but I don't send hate, I don't really engage with shippers from ships I don't like, and I am liberal with the block button and the blacklist feature. Cultivate your tumblr/online experience, y'all. You don't owe anyone on this hellsite (or any other) a damn thing.
However, I REALLY do hate d*rklina as a ship, and I have a big problem with the way the shippers talk about it, so I hope you were being serious about wanting a rant because here it goes.
As for the ship itself, i feel like the reasons I dislike it are pretty obvious and standard. It's abusive. He is her abuser. He manipulates her. He spends months grooming her and gaslighting her, intentionally trying to get her under his control so that when he literally enslaves her it will go over easier. He never actually loved her, he wanted to use her for her power. It's not complicated, it's not really 'up for debate', that is the way its written, and the author has explained that that was the intended interpretation of her work. I mean he literally sexually assaults her in the second book, and straight up tells her he's going to kill everyone she loves so that she has no choice but to fall to him because she is completely alone in the world. He threatens to skin her alive in the second book when they're on the boat, he has no problem torturing her to get Mal to do what he wants. That's not love. He does not love her. It's pretty black and white, its explicitly written as an abusive relationship. The point was to show how easily powerful men can manipulate and abuse young naive women who don't know any better and try to see the best in people. Alina 'fell' for the version of Darkles Sparkles that he intentionally created to try to control her. Nothing he told her was true, from his backstory, to them both being 'the only one like [each other]' (hello, baghra), to using Genya to convince Alina that Mal had abandoned her, everything he did was manipulation so that he could get her under his control. It is not a romance, it is not 'a ship war', d*rklina is not written as romantic. He is her abuser. Full stop.
There is also the point about him being just a generally horrible person all around. He's not morally grey. He just isn't. He sold an 11 year old into sex slavery, forced her to stay in that situation so he could use her, and then mutilated her when she defied him. He also groomed and abused Zoya, because he saw that she was exceptionally powerful and wanted to use her the way he wanted to use Alina. He enslaved Alina. He blinded and mutilated his own mother. He is a genocidal maniac. He shows no remorse, he doesn't care about anyone but himself and his own power. He is not the type of character that should be romantically shipped with anyone. If you like him, that's absolutely fine! One of my fave characters ever is Kai Parker from TVD. Dude was a straight up psychopath. He tried to kill multiple pairs of toddlers. He brutally murdered his pregnant sister AT HER WEDDING. He is a HORRIBLE person. But I think he's a brilliant character. But do I think he's a good guy, do I want him anywhere near any characters in that show in a romantic way (ehem b*nkai)? Absolutely fucking not. Being a fan of a villain character is fine, but fucking own that shit. Villains can be SUCH good characters, but they're still villains. Erasing the bad they've done so you can justify putting them in situations where they WILL harm the people around them because you can't level with yourself about the bad things they've done doesn't make you 'woke', it just makes you look like you don't understand the media you're consuming.
Which leads me to why I have such a problem with the way D*rklina shippers engage with the ship. They simultaneously wanna say "oh we know it's toxic/bad/abusive/etc., that's why we like it!" and then also they try to claim that it should be endgame, they romanticize scenes where he is abusing her (and by romanticize I mean they literally try to frame his abuse as romantic, not like "oh yeah my ship is interacting!!". those are different things. You can be excited about ship interactions without trying to say that things he is doing to her are actually romantic), they try to argue that he is morally grey/misunderstood/etc., and they straight up try to lie and say he's not her abuser.
If you wanna ship an abusive ship, own it. Be straight up about why you like it. It's okay to be into dark shit, y'all. It does NOT make you a bad person to be into dark shit. But this idea that fiction doesn't impact real life, and that people can't call the ship out for what it is is a problem is a very troubling trend in fandom. Nobody is saying you can't ship it, do what you want. But this idea that these people are 'oppressed' because fans of the show/book continue to point out the facts about the way the story was written and how the relationship is actually presented is fucking insane. Someone saying that D*rklina is abusive is not calling you out, they are stating a fact. It's the story as it was presented. You trying to say it's not makes it look like you have no reading comprehension. And this idea that 'well i'll be on the lookout for evil shadow wizards in real life lol' is such horse shit too. His shadow wizard powers aren't the issue. He is a powerful man who grooms and abuses young women. You're telling me you lived through the Me Too movement and you wanna act like thats not a real threat that young women face every day? You're telling me that you can't see that the actual real life connection you're supposed to be making here? Okay, well you should maybe deal with that and come back to me, because that's an issue.
Fiction is meant to teach us lessons. Darkles is meant to teach us something. He is meant to show us that sometimes, powerful men lie to, manipulate, groom, and abuse young women, and we should be aware of that. The story is about a young woman who is sucked into an abusive situation, and then she breaks free and in the end she is able to defeat her abuser. That is a really powerful story, and one that millions of real life women can relate too. To pretend that that story doesn't have real life connections makes you look insensitive and frankly, kind of cruel.
So basically, in the end, my biggest issue is that D*rklina shippers love to spout this nonsense about 'knowing' it's bad and that he's a villain, and 'that's why they like him', and then turn around and try to say that he's not actually the villain, he's not actually bad, and the things he does to Alina that are abuse are actually romantic and sweet. You wanna ship an abusive ship, you do you, but lets not pretend it's anything other than what it is, but romanticizing and normalizing abuse tactics so you can feel, what? morally superior? Cool? edgy and different? That has real life impacts. You are normalizing abuse. Real people will engage with that rhetoric, and it will make it difficult for them to see abuse when it happens to them or the people around them because they believe its romantic or normal to be treated that way.
You wanna be a villain stan? You wanna ship dark ships? Good on ya, but fucking own your shit, y'all.

Kara Danvers x Reader : Chose
Angst 20 -“ Don’t look at me like that.” “Like what?” “Like you still love me.”   Fluff 2 -“ It’s you, it always has been.”
Genre: Bit of Angst w/ Fluff
Word Count: 1,419
* * * * * *
Wind brushes past you. You focus your senses on this feeling. Floating thousands of miles in the sky, the hum of the city below you, and the stars seeming to be in arms reach.
You take a deep breath in and smile softly.
Rao you love being able to fly.
The faint sound of a siren wailing catches your attention and you focus in on it. With a deep inhale, you shoot across the sky, releasing the breath as you do. In seconds you’re flying above the three police cars chasing a truck.
The situation becomes clear when the trucks back door is yanked open, two men standing in the back with rifles. As always they make the mistake of firing at you.
“You’d think they get it by now.” Her soft voice sounds from right beside you and somehow you’re heart flutters and breaks all over again.
Glancing over, you find blue eyes looking back at you, a soft smile on her pink lips.
Not having a reply for her, you clench your fist and address the threat.
Turns out they aren’t just a merry band of misfits. After they run out of normal bullets, they exchange their guns for some very high tech weapons.
Winn assists you two from the D.E.O, telling you all that the weapons’ power sources are definitely alien but nothing you can’t handle. They’re heat weapons and luckily neither yourself or Kara are effected by fire.
It takes a minute, but you eventually disarm them and stop the truck. You and Kara hang around a bit until the police have them squared away in their cars and the weapons confiscated.
“Another win for the super friends.” Winn exclaims as you and Kara walk in from the D.E.O’s balcony.
You lean against the table in the middle of the command center,“ we really need to get a source on these weapons. I know there’s a lot of alien tech that came from the debris of Fort Rozz but this is insane. Every bad guy has an alien weapon now.”
“She’s right,” J’onn comes in, Alex by his side as usual,“ someone must be selling them.”
“I can try tracing the heat sigs,” Winn spins around in his chair and types at lighting speed,“ they were pretty high levels so if someone is indeed selling them I should be able to pinpoint where they. . are.” It’s quiet for a second.“ Bingo!”
All eyes flick to the many monitors ahead.
Alex steps forward,“ they’re selling out shipping containers on the docks. Why there? The Fort Rozz crash site is right here in National City.”
You sigh,“ because local police forces don’t really bat too many eyelashes at high activity on the docks. It’s usual that there’s a large amount of equipment moving in and out of there. It’s likely they’d let some alien parts disguised as normal tech slide.”
J’onn is quick to get a team ready to go, sending you and Kara ahead as usual.
Tension is thick, even with the two of you in open air, flying above the city. It translates into your fighting.
Before, you and Kara fought together as if you were attachments of one another. No communication needed, you stopped threats without breaking a sweat. Now though, due to recent events that’s not the case. Even as you two talk, things get lost in communication.
Luckily with the help of the D.E.O. you neutralize the threat and secure the weapons. Instead of returning to the D.E.O, you check in with J’onn and head home.
Tonight is game night and you have to gather your thoughts before you end up sitting in Kara’s apartment for hours. Especially with everyone acting as if things are perfectly fine.
All of your friends are aware of the rift between you and Kara. They all knew about the reason for it but not the reason behind the reason. Not even you know the reason behind the reason.
You just know that the choice she made changed everything between you two. And that it hurt like hell.
By the time you have to arrive you’re feeling a little better mentally. Enough for you to at least act like being in Kara’s place is perfectly fine. You manage to get through two and a half games, laughing with everyone, and joking around.
That stops though when you catch Kara’s eyes. It’s clear she’d been looking at you for a minute now and the emotion in those pools of blue once again makes your heart pound and break.
“Excuse me guys.” You pat James’ shoulder and head over to the kitchen.
You can hear Kara excuse herself as well and walk over after you and you can feel her eyes on you as you pull her fridge open.
Turning back to the island, you sigh and catch her gaze, eyebrows pinching together,“ don’t look at me like that.”
“Like what?” Her head tilts just barely and the look remains.
“Like you still love me.”
Your words make her breath hitch. She gulps and taps nervously on the counter top, you know if she keeps it up she’s going to dig a substantial hole in the wood.
She speaks, voice wavering in the slightest,“ I do love you.”
A scoff falls from your lips,“ just not enough though right?” Her pained expression returns.“ Not more than you loved him.”
Her shoulders sag at your words. She doesn’t know how to tell you that’s not true because you have every right to believe it is. Kara knew full well that you loved(love) her and she admitted to loving you too. Yet and still she ended up dating Mon-El.
The decision to do so shocked everyone and broke you. While she doesn’t regret being with Mon-El, she has always loved you and always will.
“Y/n,” she rounds the corner to stand at your side,“ it was never about who I loved more.”
Eyebrows pinch together,“ so what was it exactly? Was I not as good as the Daxamite prince?”
“I never said that and I would never compare you and Mon-El.” Determination and honesty set in those big blue eyes.“ It’s you, it always has been.”
This time your shoulders drop, her words sinking in but still not making much sense seeing as that wasn’t the case before.“ Then why? Why choose him and not me?”
“I was scared okay.” Tears begin to well in both your eyes.“ Y/n, I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. What if we broke up or fought and we couldn’t fix it-”
“Kara we fought as friends. We went days without talking but we always worked through it, that’s how much we meant to each other. We always tried for each other. That wouldn’t have been any different if we dated.”
Both of you know your friends are listening. Even though you’re speaking quietly, they noticed how long you two had been gone and stopped talking to listen.
The blonde looks down ashamedly,“ I know that now, I just didn’t think about it then. But I’ve long since stopped being afraid.”
“Wh-” your gaze snaps up to hers,“ what’d you mean?”
“I mean,” taking a deep breath, she steps closer,“ if you’ll have me, I want there to be an us. More than there was before. Romantically I mean.” She rushes out the last bits and you chuckle.
She’s a little shocked when you raise your hand to cup her cheek. A smile of her own forming at the sight of yours.
Leaning forward, you rest your forehead against hers.“ You broke my heart pretty bad Danvers.”
“I promise I’ll fix it.”
With the breath of her words fanning your lips, you close the short distance. Lips meet in a long awaited kiss. The cheers of your friends behind you blocked out by the rush of feelings and warmth. How either of you had gone years without this is lost on you but so worth it.
“We are still playing a game you know.” J’onn is the first to break your moment up, shortly followed by teasing comments from everyone else, and calls to come back over.
Kara’s hand in yours, you both rejoin your friends. The tension no long there, the night continues smoothly. Laughter rings loud and surprisingly, none of you are pulled away by some alien threat.
It’s the first night in a long time that everything as perfect as possible.

I had an unexpected weekend off and it’s too hot to be outside today, so five stories in one weekend is too much for me to catch up with. Thanks everyone for your positive response so far, I’ll definitely keep working on them.
If you are triggered by dark stuff and death fantasy you can skip part 2 and come straight to part 3 without missing anything.
Chronic Asthma Part 3
We were over staffed at the hospital so I volunteered to leave. I had been working so much that my girlfriend Emily and I were like ships passing in the night. She would have just gotten home from her bar tending shift and we could eat dinner in bed then fall asleep watching a reality show like a normal couple would. Emily has a bachelor’s degree in fine art, but she still bartends because it pays more money. I’ve always felt guilty about that, once I was done with med school I would be able to make more money and she wouldn’t have to work. She could tell the men who made passes at her to fuck off without fear of losing precious tips or worse yet, her job.
“Coming home early” I texted “dinner and tv?”
I didn’t get a response
“???????” I sent.
She might have been in bed, when I called her this evening she sounded tired and short of breath, she said she had been running to catch something.
The thought crossed my mind that Emily was not okay. She had had chronic asthma since she was a child as a result of the poor air quality in the Appalachian town she was raised in. Sometimes late at night I would feel her start awake and I knew she was having a nightmare of one of the two times she had stopped breathing entirely in her life.
I pushed the thought out of my head, Emily had always accused me of overthinking things and turning them into a medical crisis, it was a side effect of seven years of med school I guessed.
I sent another text “Fast food tacos?”
I got no response, “she’s probably in the shower,” I said to myself.
My anxiety didn’t fade though, I thought we had food at home we could make. I ordered a car on my phone to shorten the 45 minutes the train would have taken. I tried to get the thought of my girlfriend struggling to breath on the floor out of my head and tried to replace it with the pleasant warmth and surprise I’d see on her face when I came home early for an unexpected date night.
I bounded up the stairs and opened our door, I was surprised that our cat Walter didn’t come to greet me, he must have been confused by my shortened day.
The kitchen and living room and hallway lights were on, and I could see that our bedroom light was on too, but the shower wasn’t running. “Babe, you left the lights on again,” I said frustratedly expecting her to say “don’t mock my fear of the dark” jokingly in reply but I didn’t hear anything.
“Babe?” I said again with no response.
“Emily?” I said louder, now making my way down the hallway.
I turned into our room and saw my worst fears realized, Emily was laying in the fetal position on the floor, face turned gray, inhaler and nebulizer scattered around her. She had an asthma attack that turned into a breathing crisis, she was in respiratory arrest in front of me.
I rushed over to her and put my face close to hers, “Emily,” I said again trying to shake her awake. She looked into my eyes for a brief moment before they rolled back in her head and fluttered closed. I put two fingers under her chin and felt her heart sputter to a stop, she was in full arrest now.
I saw her cell phone on the floor next to the handset I insisted on keeping because 911 services could better trace your address on a landline. I picked up the handset and realized it was already connected. “Ma’am? Ma’am can you hear me? Help is on the way” a dispatcher says calmly on the other end of the phone.
“Yes, I just walked in and my girlfriend is in full arrest, I’m a doctor, I need an ambulance.”
The dispatcher responds but I don’t care what they say. I lay Emily flat on her back and rip off her fitted bar t-shirt. I grab the knife from my pocket and slice off her bra, exposing her graying chest as her large breast flopped to each side. I started compressions and yelled “Emily you have to come back okay.”
Her lifeless body lay unresponsive, rocking inward as I pounded on her chest, “and ten and eleven and twelve” I push away any thoughts of arousal that I feel from her naked body needing me to pump it’s heart for her. “And twenty-seven, and twenty-eight, and twenty-nine, and thirty” I move up towards her head and tilt it back, I try to give her a puff of air, her cheeks puff out but her chest lays still.
I realize her airway is completely blocked and run to get the medical bag I keep in my closet, I pour iodine on her throat and place my knee on her forehead to stabilize her.
I have seen this procedure done in the real world twice, once on a training video and once in my ER rotation, I have never actually done the procedure. My mind goes into a trance, I am no longer a frantic girlfriend I am a medical professional performing a medical routine. I grab a scalpel and make a small slice in the skin of her throat covering her trachea, I make a few more careful slices though skin and fat and muscle taking care not to slice too deep. I take some gauze and soak up the blood as I find the trachea. I put a small slice in the organ and mucus and blood immediately start coming up, I place my two fingers into the hole so I don’t lose it and grab one of the clear plastic tubes I had set out for the procedure, I slip the tube into her trachea as a sickening gurgle lets out all of the fluid that had been stuck in her airway. I snapped on a breathing tube and an ambu bag. I began to breathe for her. Her chest rising each time I squeezed breath into her.
The adrenaline of the initial crisis was fading fast. I was trying to do compressions with one hand and respirations with the other. Emily had told me horror stories about air hunger and how terrifying it was, I needed to help her heart beat and also keep air going to her lungs.
I started to panic because I didn’t know what to do next, do I just keep her partially alive until help comes? How long could she stay this way?
I choked down my panic as the EMT’s rushed in, and took over, I was surprised how aroused I was seeing a man forcefully pump my girlfriends chest while someone else squeezes a bulb to breathe for her.
I snap back into the present as the third medic is asking me questions. “She’s 28 years old, she has a history of asthma, no known history of a heart condition…..”
My mind trails off as the severity of what is happening hits me, I lose my composure and start to sob and I begged, “Emily please stay here with me, please stay alive,”
I watch the scene unfold as the paramedics put two white pads on Emily’s chest, one between her breasts and one On her side. I lose all medical knowledge as I watch a surge of electricity shoot through her body contorting it in an unnatural horror. The shock does nothing, the v-fib that the drugs gave her has turned into a flatline.
I watch in horror as the slip a board under her to raise her chest more, making her large and graying breasts fall further to the side, they snap a machine over her and turn it on, the machine makes an unnatural squeaking noise as it beats on her chest 100 times a minute.
I forget that I am a doctor, I forget my medical training, this isn’t a case in front of me this is the woman I love.
“Are you hurting her?” I ask as the machine pounds into her over and over and over again.
“We need to beat her heart for her,” the paramedic replies.
For a moment I think it’s too much, her hands are strapped to the side of the machine that is violently pounding her chest, making her shoulders shift inwards, her belly bulge, and feet rock inward with each compression pounding into her battered body. A tube sticks unnaturally out of her mouth attached to a blue bulb that someone has to squeeze to make her chest rise with breath. “It’s too much to expect her body to take this to stay.” I think, but thought of living without her snaps me back to reality. I am almost a doctor, a medical professional, I will do anything it takes to keep my girlfriend alive even if it’s with machines.
They load her into the back of the ambulance and despite my protests make me sit in the front with the driver.
I text my colleague in the ER, “headed in with Emily, bad asthma attack to full arrest, get prepped to start life support. I can’t lose her”
“Oh god Jen, we will do whatever it takes” she replies.

With the new episodes coming up, I just want to make it clear that this story will finish with “Certain Doom” I have no plans to continue the plot into Season 10C or Season 11. ALL ASL IN ITALICS
————
Winter wasn't easy.
Food stores were low and with the Kingdom out of commission and the forests barren, it was a harsh few months. The snow came in waves, blanketing the ground with fresh white powder only to be turned to slush and ice with the rain the next day.
At least there was one good thing to come out of it.
Negan was out of his cell when it got to be too much on certain nights.
Whenever a particularly cold front came through, he was granted permission to stay at your place for the night as long as you returned him to his jail in the morning. Provided that extra blankets and warm food were supplied, you agreed to the terms.
Those cold nights became the very thing that held you together. Negan has been right, body heat was incredibly beneficial. Every waking moment of the day, Negan was on your mind. His hands, his body, that damn smile of his too. However, while you enjoyed the sex and the feeling of him asleep beside you, you were in love with the conversation just as much.
You also began to learn more about his life before the Apocalypse. His life as a gym teacher, his love of vintage t-shirts, and even some things about Lucille as well. Never did you bring her up on your own, but you also never shot him down when he did either. Just as he never told you to not talk about Sasha.
Sasha became a regular topic when you began talking about the past. You missed her so much and all you wanted was to keep her memory alive. Talking about her to Negan helped with that. He would then tell you about his time with the Saviors and how he actually liked a lot of the people who he worked with.
Simon was an asshole, but Negan admitted that he was one of the smartest men he had ever met. Dwight was a nightmare at times, but still, Negan oddly admired his heart.
You weren’t surprised to learn some of this, but you were shocked to learn just how protective and jealous he could be when he wanted to.
Daryl had finally moved back into Alexandria with Lydia, Daryl moving into the Grimes’ basement, and Lydia into your guestroom. You would spend as much time with Daryl as possible whether it was for personal reasons or because you were still on edge about the Whisperers.
This didn’t go unnoticed by Negan who was starting to get suspicious. He even asked you if you and Daryl had once been involved.
“You’re joking, right?” you asked when he had brought up the subject one day as he was helping with repairs to one of the walls.
“Is that such an odd question to ask?”
“Kind of,” you said. “Negan, Daryl is like a brother to me. We’ve never...absolutely not.”
“I just find it hard to believe that you never found yourself being with anyone since this whole shit show started.”
“Didn’t have much of a chance,” you had said. “As I have said before, I’m better off alone.”
“Yeah, well don’t expect me to leave you alone any time soon, alright?” Negan had said as he finished his job. You had nodded, but something was telling you that he couldn’t keep that promise, nobody could keep promises anymore.
Your injury had fully healed just as Negan said it would, but it left an angry scar that still stung on the colder days. It wasn’t pretty, but none of your scars were, they were just part of the new world and you had to get used to them.
You were trying to stay positive as the months went by. Rosita eventually had her daughter, Judith became a stronger fighter, and you were starting to get nervous.
Everything was too calm.
It seemed that the Whisperers had gone underground for the harsher months of winter. However, like all predatory species. They would soon be returning to their hunting grounds, you were sure of it.
Domestic life was starting to be too much. Your nightmares were getting worse and on the nights that Negan lay beside you, he would wake you with a hard shake in order to be able to snap you out of sleep. You would never tell him what plagued your dreams and he never asked, but you knew he wanted to.
You also knew that he wanted to move forward with you and start thinking about a future together. However, you also knew that if that were to happen, you would need to leave Alexandria. Nobody, no matter what he did, would accept Negan as part of the family and you didn’t blame them.
Still, you wanted to be able to hold his hand as you walked through the streets and kiss him in the rain, but he was still Negan and while you got to play normal on certain nights, the cell was still his home.
It was months after the blizzard that you began planning. You began to stash bags in your house. They were filled with canteens, extra clothes, extra gauze, and when you were able to get it, non-perishables. After so many years of feeling as if you had put down roots, you were slipping back into survival mode because if you had to, you were ready to leave with him.
You loved your family, but you couldn’t live without Negan. Not anymore and not after Alpha had taken so much away from everyone. You thought back to what you had told Daryl that night when he came to visit you in the infirmary after the blizzard. You had told him that you would fight for your family even if it meant betraying Negan.
Now, you knew that wasn’t true. Negan was your life now and nothing was going to make you stop fighting for him.
And while you wanted to spend every moment with Negan, everyone knew war was imminent. Even though Alpha, Beta, and their people had gone quiet, you and everyone else knew they were still out there and so, you began to prepare.
Coco, Rosita’s daughter was just a few months old when Daryl interrupted your babysitting duties to tell you that he had spoken to Cyndie and Rachel. It was time to get ready to fight their enemies.
When Daryl announced that he would be taking people to Oceanside to prepare and learn to fight in formations with new weapons and with new strategies, there were immediate volunteers. Siddiq, Eugene, and Ro were going to be staying behind with Gabriel, but Judith and RJ would be going with their mother just as Aaron would be going as well.
You didn’t get much of a choice. You had to go as you were second in command when it came to security. You were also going because Michonne wanted time to continue the training you had been doing with her, honing your skills with your sword.
Negan wasn’t thrilled when he found out you would be leaving, but you promised him that it wouldn’t be for long and that it was necessary. You spent the night before leaving in the cell with him, curled into his side as he lulled you to sleep. You told him you would be coming back soon and asked if he could look out for Lydia when he could.
You immediately pulled Lydia under your wing. You trained her, using the new staff Alden had made for her. It was much like the one Henry once used. You taught her how to hunt and track while she helped you move around the Dead as if you were invisible. Being able to learn from one another solidified your bond quickly.
Lydia was a naturally curious young woman who wanted to hear stories about everything. You told her everything from the farm to meeting Jadis’ people for the first time. When she asked how you met Negan, you had told her one night in the quiet of your living room. Lydia had been patient the entire time as she listened.
When you were finished, she had exhaled deeply and then reached over and took your hand in hers. “I guess we both care about people capable of horrific things,” she had said and that line had stuck with you. It replayed in your head even now as you stood behind a barricade on a white sand beach, prepared to fight.
—————
Every inch of your body was coiled to a spring as your sword weighed heavily in your hand.
Aaron led the charge, he and Alden using the metal shields to stay in formation as they moved towards the old boat. Judith struck a waterlogged Walker that tried to drag itself up onto the shore. Returning to her position between you and Michonne, her wakizashi poised for battle.
Ezekiel and Jerry pulled open the door of the ship and the Dead spilled from the rusted wreckage. Walkers weren’t as sophisticated as Whisperers, but they did act as great decoys and practice for fighting the enemy.
Daryl walked along the edges of the main battle, observing and making adjustments when needed. The archers were behind, ready to fire when ordered and then, there was your group. You, Michonne, Judith, Ezekiel, Magna, and others kept your weapons raised, ready to strike.
For months, you and Michonne practiced whenever you could. She taught you different ways to hold your blade, how to use it to block, and most importantly, how to kill. Walkers were easy, but you had yet to fight an actual armed enemy.
While you wouldn’t give him a weapon, you were practicing your fight skills with Negan whenever he was in your home at night. This was more for his benefit than yours, but the two of you would take turns in practicing hand-to-hand.
Lydia would watch on with curiosity as you and Negan exchanged punches and holds. Negan would then give her tips on how to move with her weapon, how to keep balanced, and even where to strike on both Living and Dead threats.
That training came in handy now as you and Michonne moved forward, swinging your swords. The sun glinted off the metal as you fought back to back, taking the Walkers down by removing their heads from their shoulders.
Daryl joined the fight as soon as the Walkers began to overwhelm the fighters. His dual knives cut through the Walkers easily. You were so used to seeing Daryl fight long-distance with his bow just as you once excelled at with your rifle, but this was a whole new Daryl.
There was zero hesitation in his strikes and you had to keep focused on your task so you didn’t get too distracted. Moving to cover Michonne, you slashed out at a pair of Walkers who were moving in on Kelly. With a single strike, their rotting heads rolled from their bodies.
A sharp sound came from behind you as Daryl shoved a knife into a Walker’s head that tried to grab you. You didn’t have time to thank him before Alden’s spear soared over your head and you ducked. The weapon found its target and you kept moving.
Taking out the remainder of the Walkers took some time, but between every fighter on that beach, you dispatched them cleanly and without incident. The final Walker that stumbled on the beach approached you and with a hard swing, you cut its head into two, your blade sliding right down the center of its skull.
With a hard pull, you removed the sword with a huff. As the body fell to the ground, you rested your blood-soaked blade on your shoulder, trying to relieve the fatigue that plagued your biceps.
Daryl, who was standing just a few feet away, watched as your weapon lay against your shoulder and it was oddly familiar. He watched as you dropped it back down to your side, but he saw it. It was hard not to. It was as if you were holding Lucille and not Jesus’ sword.
There were still a few left inside so you jogged up to help Ezekiel clear them out as Aaron began calling out orders. Once you finished working through the remaining Dead, Ezekiel let out a tired breath.
“Nicely done,” he said and then offered his hand for a high five. You obliged and tapped your palm to his.
“You too,” you said as you scraped the blood off your sword. You then noticed that he was looking at you with a tilted head. “What? Do I have Walker blood on my face?” you asked, worried.
“No, I just noticed something,” he said.
“What’s that?” you asked.
“You seem happy,” Ezekiel said.
“I am,” you said. “I didn’t think I would be able to feel this way after what happened at the fair, but all I feel is this underlying aura of happiness.”
“Are you worried that that is a bad thing?”
“I feel almost guilty to feel happiness after everything that happened. It almost feels inappropriate to feel any sense of joy, you know?”
“I do know,” he said sadly and then you immediately felt horrible.
“Your Majesty, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean…” you trailed off when he raised his hand.
“One, you don’t need to address me with that title,” he said. “And two, it’s okay. I miss him every day, but I can also understand that he would want me to smile on occasion.”
“Henry was a good boy,” you said, reaching out to grip his hand. “I’m so sorry.”
“I know,” he said, squeezing back. “I also know that many people aren’t happy with whom you’ve chosen to love.”
“Ezekiel…” you began, but he was already speaking.
“I don’t care,” he said. “I do not care who he is. I have just missed your smile. If Negan is who it takes for you to get that light back in your eyes, so be it. I think we have all missed that even if you haven’t realized it. I know what he’s done, but I know that you also know as well.”
“I do, but I can’t help but love him.”
“And that’s okay. It’s...unorthodox, but it’s okay. The heart wants what the heart wants, (Y/N).” You didn’t hesitate to reach out and hug the man before you. If that was the way that he thought then perhaps there would be more hope for those who disagreed with your new connection with the former enemy. However, there was also the realization that many would begin to shun you just because of your relationship with Negan.
In that rust-filled ship hold, you smiled at the king who had just lost his kingdom and realized that perhaps he understood at least that part of Negan’s past. As Negan once said, he knew what it felt like to lose a kingdom.
————
On your way back to the main area of Oceanside, you ran into Luke.
“Call on line two,” he joked as he handed you the radio. You immediately knew what he meant and with a roll of your eyes, you took the walkie from him and began walking away from the masses.
“What do I owe this pleasure?” you asked.
“I have to admit,” Negan said on the other line, “I feel like a teenager sneaking into the basement to call his secret love.”
“Some things never change then,” you said with a laugh as you found a boulder to sit on as you watched the waves crash against the shore.
“No, they do not,” he said and you could tell he was smiling. That thought sent a jolt into your chest.
“What did you do to get this privilege?”
“I may have paid off this kid, Brandon,” Negan said.
“With what? Tomatoes?” you asked, amused.
“Nope, just a little life advice and maybe some instructions on how to make moonshine,” he said smugly.
“Hilarious,” you deadpanned.
“You love it,” he teased.
“Mmhmm,” you said.
“Tell me about your day,” Negan said.
“We’ve been working on battle formations,” you said. “Daryl thinks that we need a stronger defense.”
“What do you think?” Negan asked.
“I think that someone needs to find me a gun so I can take Alpha out,” you admitted.
“Easy, Darlin’,” Negan said.
“Why? Why can’t I want the bitch dead?”
“Oh, you definitely can. I just think that perhaps you may wanna think it through before going all Terminator.”
“In order to do that, I’d need a gun and we are out of bullets,” you said and then your hand found its way around your neck where the old shell casing Daryl had given you hung on a chain.
“I wish I could help,” he said and then you sighed, leaning back on the boulder.
“You are helping,” you said. “You’re keeping me sane.”
“That’s a first. Especially cause I specifically remember you telling me that I drive you crazy. I think you were on top that time.”
“Wow, you are such a romantic,” you said, but you were smiling nonetheless.
“I am the best at romance, trust me.”
“Always do,” you said without hesitation.
“God, I fucking miss you,” he said.
“I miss you, too,” you said as you watched Aaron take down another water-logged Walker.
“What else is going on?” Negan asked.
“Carol is comin’ back today,” you said, turning your gaze to the horizon.
“I’m sure Daryl is thrilled about that,” he said.
“What do you mean?” you asked.
“Ah, come on, don’t tell me you haven’t noticed those two? I clocked it the first time I saw them together.”
“There’s nothing going on between Daryl and Carol,” you said with a dismissive scoff.
“Right, and I’m the damn Pope,” Negan said.
“No, you’re not. The hat wouldn’t look good on you,” you argued.
“Uh, I look good in everything, (Y/N). Don’t lie to yourself.”
“This is true,” you agreed, trying not to smile.
“Speaking of,” Negan said. “What are you wearing?”
“And we are changing the subject now,” you said.
“Buzzkill,” he countered.
“Perv,” you shot back.
“Oh, shut up, you know you love me.”
“Lord help me, but I do,” you said, smiling to yourself.
“Knew it,” he said. You smiled, but then turned the conversation onto something else.
“How’s Lydia?” you asked, worried about the teen.
“She seems okay,” Negan said. “I talked to her this morning. She misses you,” he said.
“Yeah, I miss her, too,” you said. “I’ll be home soon, though. Is anyone messin’ with her?” you asked, concerned she was going to be met with the negativity that should only be reserved for her mother and her former family.
“Just the odd dirty look behind her back so far,” Negan assured you. “Nothin’ she can’t handle.”
“You don’t know that,” you said. “She hasn’t had to be around people beside Whisperers. Let alone people her own age.”
“Well, she’s got you now, so I know she’s gonna be okay,” Negan said gently and you let out a breath, letting his words soothe you.
“Just please keep an eye on her when you can please,” you asked him.
“Don’t worry, I got her,” he promised. You were relishing in the sound of his voice when you realized that you needed to get going. You were then wishing for a time machine to go back to when unlimited minutes were available on cell phones. “What are you thinkin’?” he asked.
“That I should get goin’,” you said with a sigh. “I know Luke wanted me to help him set up dinner with Jules.”
“Who’s Luke again?” he asked.
“Uh, the violin guy. New group,” you explained.
“Right…” Negan trailed off.
“What?” you asked.
“Nothin’, just… Is he keepin’ his hands to himself?” Negan asked and you couldn’t stop the grin that spread across your face. So, instead of calming his nerves, you decided to have some fun.
“Nope, he is definitely not,” you said nonchalantly. “In fact, we’ve already had a steamy make-out session and Cyndie has agreed to marry us at sunset. Daryl is giving me away and Jude is gonna be the flower girl. I think it will be a wonderful ceremony. I’ll send you a piece of cake.”
Negan was quiet for a moment and you figured he was either rolling his eyes or staring off in the distance as he sighed deeply. Eventually, he pressed the talk button and said, “You really need to work on your sense of humor.”
“And you need to get back to work before Brandon realizes that you don't actually know how to make moonshine,” you said.
“Fine,” he sighed. “I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“See you soon.”
“I love you,” he said softer and you leaned your head against the radio.
“I love you, too,” you whispered back, and then, static returned to the channel.
You let the radio rest in your hand for a moment as you thought of him. Being together for all those months without any break was almost like living a different life and now it felt alien to be away from him.
Hopping off the boulder, you began to head back to find Luke. “Who was that?” Jumping at the voice, you turned to see Connie and Kelly behind you.
“Jesus Christ,” you swore, signing as you did. Connie snorted.
“Nope, just me,” Connie signed and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“Well, who was that?” Kelly asked.
“Nobody,” you said with a shrug, but after knowing the sisters for a while now, you knew they saw right through your bullshit.
“Right,” signed Connie. With a sigh you relented.
“It was my boyfriend,” you explained. Connie and Kelly both raised their brows at that.
“Why do I feel like that wasn’t a positive reaction?” Kelly signed to her sister.
“Because,” Connie began, “they are with Negan.”
“Who’s Negan?” Kelly asked you and then you told your story. Connie had to remind you of a few signs such as “baseball bat” and “murderous widow”. You managed to finish without straying from the main train of thought and when you did, Kelly whistled low. “Shit,” she said.
“Tell me about it,” you said.
--------
After helping Luke and Jules set up the fire pit, you went in search of Aaron, but you found Daryl and Carol first.
“Look who’s back,” you said as you approached Carol. She reached out to hug you tightly.
“Good to see you,” Carol said.
“You too,” you said with a smile and then tapped your fist against Daryl’s. It was then that Negan’s comment came back to you. You couldn’t help but try to see what he was seeing when he looked at the duo. Perhaps he was right after all.
“What?” Daryl asked
“Nothing,” you said quickly, but he was still looking at you with narrowed eyes through his messy hair.
“Right,” he said. “We were just talkin’ about Maggie.”
“Anyone heard from her lately?” you asked as you began to walk beside them.
“Not yet,” Daryl said. “She has been checking in less and less lately.”
“Are you worried?” you asked and then turned to Carol, “Is he worried?”
“He’s Daryl,” Carol said, causing the man on her left to roll his eyes.
“I hate when the two of you are together,” he muttered and Carol hooked her arm in his, playful leaning her head on his shoulder.
He let her of course and you could just hear Negan saying, “I told you so, Teach,” in your mind. You hated when he was right.
“You worried about her findin’ out about Negan?” Carol asked and you shot Daryl a look.
“Yeah, I told her,” Daryl said. “You ain’t really making it a secret.”
“Guess not,” you sighed. “I don’t know, Carol. I don’t really want to imagine what her reaction would be. The woman scares me enough.”
“Ya weren’t that close,” Daryl said.
“Close enough,” you said.
You and Maggie had an odd relationship. While you were close with both Glenn and Beth, you and Maggie were never particularly close enough to be considered good friends. You had each other’s backs and you cared for her, but you never really knew what she was thinking.
“I think she’d hit you,” Carol said casually.
“Thank you, Carol. Your support is incredible,” you quipped and she just gave you a wink.
“Come on, we have bigger things to worry about, right?” Carol asked.
“You got that right,” Michonne said as she jogged up to you three. She carried something in her hand and when she raised it, Carol froze at Daryl’s side. It was one of the Whisperer’s masks. “We need to talk.”
--------
“It washed downstream,” Rachel said as she looked at the mask on the table. You and the leaders were standing around one of the tables in the main meeting room trying to figure out what to do next. “It could have been from months ago.”
“That doesn’t make me feel any better,” said Michonne.
“Thoughts?” Carol asked, looking at her friend.
“It could be something, but it could be nothing.”
“We’ve agreed to her damn borders,” Daryl said from his spot next to Cyndie.
“Which we shouldn’t have done,” you added.
“I agree,” said Carol.
“And then what? She kills more of us?” Michonne said. “It’s not that simple and you know it.” Carol was quiet then, stewing in her own thoughts about the woman who murdered her son.
“We need to tell Hilltop and Alexandria,” Enid pointed out. She and Alden had taken on roles of leadership along with Ezekiel at Hilltop.
“I’ll go call Gabriel,” Daryl said as he grabbed the radio and left the room to contact Alexandria. You were staring at the mask before you and you remembered a moment from a few months ago...
It was the middle of the night and you were out walking the streets of Alexandria, trying to shake off your nightmares. The weather was better so Negan was back in his cell. You had begun to walk to him, only to be sidetracked by the sound of the windmill. You stood there in the dark, staring up at the moving blades and a feeling crept up your spine.
It was almost as if someone was watching you. Scanning the darkness, you only saw shapes that were slightly illuminated by the moonlight. Still, that feeling followed you as you continued to pace around the community. Eventually, you found yourself at the stables, stroking the horses to calm yourself. You had been able to not think about the Whisperers for moments at a time, but in the dark of night, you could only think about the way they moved and the way they whispered to one another.
Looking down at that mask with its hollow eyes now made you feel sick. It was as if it was a message from Beta, telling you that he always knew where you were, where Lydia was. While Alpha scared you, Beta was who your nightmares were about. Alpha was smart, cunning, and ruthless, but Beta was her sword and Beta was going to be the one that struck first, you were sure of it.
“(Y/N)?” Enid said, snapping you out of your memory. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” you said, not looking at her. “Excuse me,” you said before following Daryl out of the room and back into the fresh air of Oceanside.
You didn’t look back as you kept moving towards the water, taking in deep breaths of the salty air. You tried to focus on the waves and how they crashed into one another on the shore, but it was hard to think of anything that didn’t send your heart into a panic.
Your hand gripped your sword at your side and you felt as if your fingers were about to break, but you tried to steady yourself.
It was just a mask.
Except, it wasn’t.
You felt a nudge at your back and turned to see Dog standing behind you. Connie was walking up behind him, giving you a friendly smile. You smiled back, scratching Dog behind his ears.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
“Fine,” you said.
“I did not mean to call your boyfriend out like that earlier,” she said with a frown. You waved her off.
“It’s okay, Connie,” you said. “He’s not a secret, at least I’m trying not to make him that.”
“He is lucky to have someone who cares for him that deep,” she signed.
“Thanks,” you said, turning your eyes to the setting sun. Connie got your attention again as she began signing.
“Are you going home?” she asked.
“I might have too,” you said with a sigh. “I don’t like Lydia being there alone.”
“She is a good kid,” Connie said. “I can see that you care about her.” You nodded, agreeing with Connie’s statement. You also knew that Connie had a soft spot for the teenager as well. She had been with Daryl when they rescued Lydia and Henry from the Whisperer camp and brought them back to Alexandria and then the fair. You also knew that Connie felt guilty for what happened to Henry, you all did.
“I’m not sure how that happened,” you said. “We just connected.”
“You know,” she continued, “you would be a great parent.”
“Easy there, Connie,” you said with raised brows.
“Just saying,” she said with a shrug. It wasn’t as if you hadn’t thought about it before, becoming a parent. You knew that your friends had done it. Maggie, Rosita, Aaron, and of course Carol, but you never saw yourself in that light. At least not until you found Alexandria and began to take care of Judith when Rick was still around. He trusted you with both of his kids and then Aaron did as well with Gracie.
As a teacher, you loved teaching and taking care of kids, but after Elliot’s death, you shied away from the possibility of ever taking care of one of your own. However, now, with Negan in the picture, perhaps taking care of one wouldn't be that bad. Especially if it was Lydia.
“Does he love you?” Connie asked after a moment.
“He does,” you answered easily. “But it’s complicated.” Connie shook her head then.
“There is a reason that the past stays behind us, (Y/N),” Connie said.
“Not after what he did,” you said with a meaningful look.
“Nobody is a saint. That was taken from all of us as soon as the first Dead began to walk.” Connie then reached out and took your hand, squeezing it tightly in her own.
“You’re wise,” you said and Connie scoffed and then let go so she could use her hands again.
“No, I just know how to see people in a different light,” she explained.
“How?”
“I try to see them as people who make mistakes, and not mistakes masked as people,” she said and you smiled at that.
“Thanks, Connie,” you said and you really meant it.
“Anytime.”
-------
You were heading back towards the cabin that you were sharing with Daryl and his dog when you ran into Judith.
“Are you leaving?” she asked, concerned.
“Tomorrow,” you said, already having decided that you would ride for Alexandria the following morning. Judith frowned then, her attention on her boots. “What’s wrong?” you asked.
“I’m worried about Negan,” she admitted.
“Why?” you asked, kneeling down so you could see her better.
“People are angry,” she said with a sigh. Her hat was low as she tried to avoid your eyes. You reached out and pushed it off her head, taking her shoulders in your hands. She looked at you with those eyes that reminded you so much of Shane. Regardless of what that man did, he helped make an incredible kid and you saw him in her eyes every time.
“They’re mad at Alpha, not Negan,” you assured her, trying to soothe her nerves.
“I don’t think that matters,” she said, kicking at a loose seashell.
“I know,” you said, brushing a piece of hair off her shoulder. “It’ll be okay. I know you care about him.” Judith nodded and then moved forward to wrap her arms around your neck, resting her head against the junction between your neck and your shoulder.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
“For what?” you asked, squeezing her back as she held you
“I like that you see him as a human being,” she said and you nearly cried at her words. You just held the little Grimes back.
“I always will,” you promised.
“No matter what?” she asked.
“Yeah, kid. No Matter what.”

mkay. ive woken up, it doesnt seem like theres any new developments, so. post explaining what the hells been going on about the ae/emeraldduo qpr discourse ig woo. this is going to be from my perspective, because i am one person. shocker. anyways,
basic summary: i made a post saying that because c!kristin is canon and philza and techno have boundaries against shipping, i believed that maybe there should be a genuine effort to chill out with putting c!philza and c!technoblade in a qpr or platonic marriage, as c!philza being married to c!kristin is based off the irl marriage and c!philza and c!technos friend dynamic is based off the ccs dynamic even outside of the dream smp (such as, of course, the antarctic empire being a smpearth thing). i also said this because i feel like theres a genuine problem in the fandom with how it treats kristin, not only in fanart (making her skinny and white), but also just. in general, overshadowing her with the idea of emeraldduo being married, shit like that, and it irked me esp bc shes a woc while philza and techno are white men.
people get pissed at me, both to my face and behind my back, and i get insulted, called stupid, arophobic, anti-polyam, told i dont understand friendship and that i dont have friends. i joined a server just to wake up and find myself banned and blocked with no explanation, left to assume that i was talked about behind my back while i was unable to defend myself. out of all the people who disagreed with me, one person. one. person. was nice to me and didnt call me arophobic, actually giving me constructive criticism and a chance to elaborate. one. i finally start to feel better two days after the fact, consulting people outside the fandom to get second opinions and getting happy when people agreed with me and even gave insight to things i didnt consider, and what do i get?
someone rbed to tell me "not to go on twitter" because people were talking about me, and informing me that there was a group chat dedicated to "talking about how wrong [i am]". what the rest of the post said, i dont remember, because the person seems to have me blocked and i fucking panicked after being told theres literally an entire group of people talking about me on twitter- of which, yknow. is known for harassing people and even once had a black girl doxxed?? not to mention that the person who mocked me for supposedly not having friends did so when i said to leave me alone, and ive said publicly for people to leave me alone consistently, and. well, insulting and going after someone, or even talking about them behind their back, when they said to leave them alone is in fact harassment, by definition.
im accused of not listening to philza, with the only clip being given to me of him talking about c!emeraldduo being like "the platonic version of achilles and patroclus", as if platonic = queerplatonic. yesterday was the first time i was given a clip of phil talking about qprs specifically, given to me by someone who didnt evem disagree with me anyways, again showing the people disagreeing with me were barely actually willing to cooperate with me. i have. complicated feelings on the clip (mainly with how its worded as just headcanons and only given the definition of "platonic life partners" which.. hm.), but this post isnt about that.
regardless, i vent to my friends, because i was having a delusional breakdown, and one makes a post saying they didnt want to interact with the fandom after people went after me. they inform me that both people who insulted me before and others reblogged from their post to again assert that im arophobic, claim that no one was talking about me outside of people publicly talking about how "arophobic" i am (which.. is people talking about me), claim that i called people racist and sexist (i didnt?? i dont think anyones racist and sexist, not even for what i brought up concerning the fandoms treatment of kristin, it gives me a bad taste in my mouth, but i would never call anyone racist or sexist for it [outside of the whitewashing but thats a different issue from the qpr discussion]), and then they were sent anon hate, one even asserting that they were arophobic and talking over minority groups and therefore deserved to be in their bad home situation. outside of their post being in the dream smp tag, its hard to believe that people just. normally found their post. unless they were going through the recent posts in the dream smp tag (which i dont feel is the case), it is.. concerning that they found my friend trying to defend me so quickly and immediately decided to continue to talk about me behind my back and even insult them as well.
so.. yknow, not great in asserting that there arent people tracking me somehow, which is incredibly triggering and paranoia inducing.
either way, in the end, if people disagree with me about the situation, i dont care, i cant stop them, but i just want people to stop being fucking pricks about it. i want people to stop being pissy at me and about me, i want people to stop insulting me and telling me and telling people i interact with that im arophobic when im not. i want people to stop pretending to care when they tell me to take a break when theyre the fucking reasons i have to take a break. i want people to stop being condescending to me, to stop talking about me, to stop acting like theyre superior while fucking insulting me.
i just wanted to bring up an issue about the lack of respect kristin gets, and people as always turned it into something about philza and technoblades relationship when that was literally the behavior that i was complaining about. i hate that me wanting to talk about how kristin and her marriage to phil is treated turned into me having several breakdowns in one day because i kept getting worse and worse news about how people were treating me. i hate that i did take breaks, that i actively distracted myself, went outside, took care of my pets, took care of myself, talked to my friends, and yet people just acted condescending and went all "if you cant handle criticism then leave :/".
what the fuck is wrong with you people? why is it that this fandom actively defaults to harassment and using ccs against fans when an issue arises? and i fucking hate that this is my first goddamn actual interaction with aeduo fans. im genuinely terrified of aeduo fans now if this is how they react to problems. fuck everyone who talked about me behind my back, fuck everyone who acted condescending towards me, fuck everyone who called me arophobic or anti-polyam or whatever the hell they had up their sleeves, fuck every single grown ass adult who saw a teenager have a fucking breakdown over the shit they did and said and decided to continue. fuck everyone who didnt even bother to have a goddamn level conversation with me before insulting me and attempting to tell others that im arophobic and other shit like that.
this shit happened because of two paragraphs. i said two goddamn paragraphs about a personal issue with the fandom i had and now ive genuinely been pushed almost to the point of relapsing. i dont give a shit if people think i have a victim complex, i just want people to leave. me. alone. its the fucking least you could do. oh, and go fuck yourself. if you genuinely thought id be apologizing after that shit, fuck you. i shouldnt have to be the better person with this shit, i shouldnt be pushed to choking on my own fucking tears because people wont let it fucking be. im not goddamn apologizing after three days of getting insulted and harassed and talked about behind my back for a fucking shipping issue. piss off.

The Mount Teaser
Warnings: Swearing, Typos
A/N: so this is the first little teaser for a small probably two part for the Cavillry School Writing Challenge. My teacher is August Walker as Truant officer. i hope you all enjoy. XXX
Please ignore any typo’s this is unbeta’d.
You frowned at all the girls around you. All tittering and giggleing like children. Most younger than you. Stupid children. But each a terror in her own right other wise she wouldnt be here. You hated this place already, the garish pink and peach cheque short skirt and white blouse with a bow around the neck, even in year thriteen-sixth form you were required to be in uniform. Ugh. Mount Ephrame academy was a a strange institution. A huge 100 acre plot in the countryside huge caslte like building no not like hogwarts...Think Balmoral or somthing like that. Some gothic Victorian structure with almost everything you could think of dotted around the grounds stables, pool, walled garden, cloisters a fucking orangey even a small bloody lake! It was insane here once stepping out of the car you'd gone cold. Houston we have a problem! A big fucking problem! It was remote and a whole different world you felt it in the air as you'd entered the building lile you were cut off from the world. But if the ten foot grey stone wall that encompasses the grounds was anything to go by. You were. On the one hand it was an all girls boarding school. On the other? A prison. Its where the delinquents were sent. You go to a young offenders unit or if your bad enough or 'salvagable' your sent here if theres any space. It was unnerving. It pitches itself as an 'institution of learning, growth and reform' you can find yourself here from the age of eleven to twenty one the curriculum covers from your year seven SATS through gsce and higher education even some degrees!  Once you are here you are trapt untill you get the go ahead from principal Cavill untill you prove your 'good and well mannered and will contributeto society'. Your trapped despite your age, your classed as a ward of the 'school' untill he says you can leave. You thought it was illegal but no in actual fact it was like prison. Catch you teach and mold you untill you can become a functioning member of society. The school itself had a reputation of being effective but no one knows how or why. No one questions it, if its not broke dont fix it. Aslong as the students excel and come out as pristine young ladies no one cares. You looked around at the long line of portraits hanging on the walls. A gallery of the staff. Nintey percent male. One hundred percent of the gorgeous, even a few abnormal looking ones like a certain Mr...Rivia??. Eyes are not naturally that bright even for honey brown. Contacts. And he must dye his hair. You scoffed at his portrait. He tries to hard. Probably trying to cater to the younger teens newfound 'werewolf' infatuation thats popped up. Just a few years ago when you were their age 'vampires' were all the rage...As long as the sparkled. You paced the hall small heels clicking on the stone floor as you went. You'd done your research you'd been here just over two weeks and you hadnt been idle. Finding out as much as you could and yet nothing at all. The girls didnt talk much about what goeson here one did slip saying 'the mount' as they called the school was traditional in values and the way it handled things. The girl was quickly shushed by the others who turned a suspicious red colour. Other then that not much was said and you were avoided which was fine by you. You wasn't staying. You traced the picture frames slowly one by one the stunning thick men staring back at you from behind the glass, most blue eyed some a bright azure like the astrology teacher a Mr Kent crystal clear blues looking at you from behind thick framed nerd glasses. Others darker. Like a Mr Walker. Ah yes your new foe apparently. You stopped and stared at him, he looked tough but... looks can be deciving, just looke at that Rivia one for instance. No you didnt think the stoic Mr walker dyed his har or wear contact's, but you did think he was trying to seem more intimidating thennhe wpreally was. He was the Truant officer, normally in schools the truant officer is the only member of taff who can really touch you. But here things were. Different. You'd learned from the others that what happens in the mount, stays in the mount. Walker was the one all the students feared most he had a reputation for being the toughest and meanest of all the staff. It was said he was CIA and trained to kill-had killed. And that he hunts down pupils how skip class stalking them like prey before dragging them into his office and giving them hell before taking them to headmaster Cavill for a second dose. Dose of what you didnt know but apparently it was bad. Painful even. You doubted that very much. You doubted many things about this place, the reputation, the legality, the curriculum, the teachers! But most of all you doubted they would contain you. You doubted they'd manage to keep you here at this correctional institution. You'd got to your final compulsory year at school and been thrust into this place dragged kicking and screaming into its halls of residence and set to stay untill 'further notice' you were just about to turn eighteen! Just about to leave behinde the 'holier then thou teachers' and do what you wanted and???  No. The government decided you used up our chances. A few warnings from police and being expelled from a few schools were fine but apparently drinking underage and caught with class A drugs was a step to far. The courts called you a liability and shipped you off here to continue education in a 'safe structured environment' your parents were only to happy to agree, why wouldn't they be? You'd get a free education, free room and board and collage courses a free degree to if you were not 'reformed' withing the next yer or so. All they had to do was sign their rights to the school for the duration of your stay. And indoing so condemned you to stay here until your new Headmaster deemed you could leave and not a second before! But what he didnt know, what everyone around you failed to realise is that your not like the rest. your not a simpering little girl who'd be 'put in you place' by a few pretty men spouting sweet praise and stern glares. you were getting out! you just had to put a bit of work in. "Miss y/l/n/? are you okay?" you snapped your gaze away from the photo snapping out of your thougts seeing Mr Cavill the headmaster. Your jailor, he frowned as he gained on you coming to a slow stop before you chest heaving with a sigh one brow quirked waiting for an answer. "yes I'm fine" you spoke stiffly, it was no secret you didnt want to be here, you hadnt yet fallen under what ever fearful lusty haze that seemed to hang over the other students yet. he huffed shifting on his feet tucking the folders under his arm tightly tipping his head forward  eyeing you over his glasses with an almost scolding look the made you jolt. "Well you wont be if you hang around here much longer. Your skipping class young lady, and right infront of me to. Didnt you hear the bell?" he asked slowy motioning to the school bell in the corner of the hall but you kept your mouth shut chooseing not to look at him. "Right well come on off to class with you, I'll let this one pass but you'll not get another get out of jail free card. come on get out your planner i'll walk you to class we can say you got lost" he added waving his hand at you making you scowl and pull out the planner rage boiling inside of you and you looked at the classes. Block B Art with Mr Solo. you huffed as Mr Cavil turned and motioned for you to follow him. "Come along before Walker Catches you, he does not put up with this type of thing accidental or not and take it from me you dont want to get in his bad books he is not known for being merciful to the girls" he utterd you growled under your breath casting one last look to the portrait trying to commit it to memory. you didnt give a shit about the truant officer's reputation. you'd be the one to get the better of him. And you'd be the first  to get out! You'd be kicked out. You swear to god your not stayng here. You couldn't!

Kiss The Girl {Will Turner x Reader Oneshot}
Requested by: Anonymous Wordcount: 3074 Summary: After unintentionally making you jealous, Will gets advice from Jack on how to deal with you giving him the silent treatment.
Stupid Will Turner, with his stupid chiseled jaw and his stupid curly hair. You sneered at him from across the bar as you sat in port while the Pearl took on supplies. He had a woman on either side of him, flirting with him, touching him. It was disgusting the way that these gals just threw themselves all over him. No question about it, the women loved him, more than they even loved Jack Sparrow, who was causing a ruckus in a private room somewhere. Nowhere that you had to see, thankfully. As the only female among your band of pirates, you were left alone as soon as you set foot off the ship, and none of the men in this port dared to mess with you. For once, you though it was a bit of a shame, since it would be nice to flaunt getting some attention in front of Will.
Tumblr media
A blonde and a dark-skinned brunette were on either side of them, and both were incredibly beautiful, even you had to admit that. They were exactly the kind of women who could catch any man’s eye. Will was obviously reveling in the attention, doing everything but blowing trumpets to impress them. “Show off your scars, why don't you?" You called across to him. He looked over at you, a puzzled expression in those puppy dog eyes. “Go on, take them upstairs and strip,” You continued, getting off of your stool with the bottle of beer between your fingers. “He’s got one on his butt, courtesy of yours truly.” You bowed, a little unsteady on your feet, but the sentiment was made.
“Oh - is that true, Mista Turner?" The blonde squealed, leaning back to try to get a look at his derriere. “I’ve seen many men with scars but I never looked at one up close in that area."
“Oh, do show us!" The brunette said in return. Will looked at both of them with astonishment, and then with a little bit of smugness.
You rolled your eyes, though you knew that it was you who had put Will in that situation. That didn’t mean that you liked it. You were just teasing, perhaps even flirting, who knows. Now Will probably knew that you thought about his butt on occasion. As Will put his arms around the ladies, his smooth voice telling them that it would take another bottle of liquor before his pants came off, you headed in the direction of the exit. You didn’t look back as you did so, but left with a slam of the doors behind you. It had become common knowledge that you didn’t sleep well on steady land, and while others decided to stay in inns, you went back to the ship each night, going right back to your hammock. No one was worried about you going missing in times like these.
-
The boat was stocked up, Jack had managed to evade capture, and everyone was ready to take to the seas again. Even you, though this was the least excited that you had been to go. It was a large and beautiful ship, but there weren’t many places for you to hide from Will. Rumors had gone throughout the crew that he had bedded both of those beautiful women that night, and they didn’t accept a penny from him in return. It was one of the most unpleasant things that you had ever heard, and the glare that you had given to Gibbs when you overheard him shut his mouth as if a crab had pinched it.
You decided to go with the silent treatment. A conversation would just bring on more anger and jealousy, and then that would bring on further questions. It was your dream that he would realize that he loved you, rather than you have to tell him about your feelings, then let him care for you in guilt. He was that sort of guy. Way too kind to be on a pirate ship. And way too kind to be someone that you wanted to love, but here you were. The universe worked in mysterious ways.
“Have you seen my-" Will approached you as you were standing on the port-side, watching the boat depart from the busy town and onto open waters. You didn’t turn to look at him as he spoke as you normally would. You just took a step back and walked away. “-hat?" He finished, watching your back as you left. You had an imposing figure, with your trousers, your flowing shirt, and the always there scabbard on your side, with your sword ready for action at a second’s notice. Many of the crew thought that you practiced witchcraft, and that’s why you were so tough, especially for a woman. But Will never fed into those rumors. He knew that it was your brain which made you so strong, not some herbs and chanting.
A few hours later, when food was served out - a fish stew that everyone was sick of already but it was what was most readily available - he tried to take a seat near you. You got up and moved to a different barrel. When he attempted to follow, you joined Pintel and Ragetti, who quickly shut up as you took a seat near them. “What, are you speaking about something too filthy for my delicate ears?” You barked at them. Ragetti shook his head, Pintel leered at you, and then they continued on their conversation, you joining in every once in a while.
After the sun set, and you went down for your four hours sleep before having to come back on the deck, Will seemed to be following you. You climbed onto your hammock, folding yourself in, and covered yourself with a blanket which was the only keepsake from your childhood. Your mother had knitted it herself, and though there were quite a few large holes in it from over the years, it brought on the feeling of warmth. You squeezed your eyes shut, and tried to block out the feeling of Will watching you.
“Y/n, come on,” Will said, nudging the hammock so that you rocked a little. You responded by making large snoring noises, about equivalent with Gibbs. You had a lot of practice in imitating these men. This wasn’t the first time it came in handy. He sighed loudly, but didn’t move. Then it grew so quiet, you could have heard a sewing needle drop. “Why are you so angry with me?"
You snored again, and added in a roll to face away from him, something that was not easy in a hammock. It took years of experience to do that somewhat gracefully. Will sighed again, and walked towards the stairs going up to the deck. You could hear him pause, and you gave a lighter snore this time, just to make sure that he wouldn’t come to bother you. Then you finally heard him ascend. You grew silent after that, hugging your blanket close to you, and prayed to the Sea Gods that you would have your heart back again, because giving it away was too painful.
-
Instead of sleeping like he should, Will found his way to the Captain’s Quarters. Jack was in there, doing whatever it was that Jack did. Tonight, that ended up being redoing some of the braids in his hair. The two always had a somewhat shaky relationship, but Jack was admittedly brilliant. He might have picked up on something he hadn’t.
“There’s something wrong with y/n,” Will stated, standing rather than sitting, leaning against one of the swaying walls of the ship. “She won’t talk to me.”
Tumblr media
Jack’s head snapped up, and he looked at Will with suspicious eyes. “Did she drink up my rum?”
“I didn’t think to check,” Will muttered. “But she was drinking a lot at the port.”
Jack didn’t relax, thinking of the last time that you had been upset and nearly emptied his stores. “Must be her time then,” He said, stroking his little beard braids. “Haven’t you knocked her up yet? I thought she was looking a little...” He blew into his cheeks to imitate a person who was overweight, and he motioned at a large belly. Will looked at him blankly, until it clicked in what he was insinuating.
“What - do you think-?” He sputtered, walking towards the desk and leaned over it to glare at Jack. He drew his sword even and held it at Jack’s throat. The elder pirate wasn’t bothered. He waved it away, then widened his eyes as it returned back to it’s spot. “How dare you talk about her like that. She is not some ... some boat whore to be bedded! She would slit your throat for saying such a thing, and I ought to do that for her-”
“Ah - ah,” Jack said, waving his finger in Will’s face in a distracted way. He pulled the pistol out of his pocket quickly and aimed it at Will’s head. Not for the first time. Probably not for the last as well. “Lower your sword or I’ll throw you in the dungeons for threatening your Captain.”
Will slowly backed down, though his rage was not abatting. He didn’t like the knowing look that was on Jack’s face. Like he knew something that Will didn’t. Something important. “What did you mean?” He asked, once the point was directed to the floor.
“I think you only think that you don’t know, but you definitely know.” Jack said, lazily putting his pistol back. “You did something incredibly mad while we were at port. Aye, a little fish told me about your luck with your ladies.”
“I don’t think it’s fair to call Gibbs a fish,” Will said, but he did think back to that night and his cheeks did turn slightly pink. “Why would that make y/n upset?”
“How did you ever find your way to this ship?” Jack asked, throwing his hands up on the air. He got to his feet, walked behind Will, and made him face out of one of the windows to the Ocean. There wasn’t much to see out there, just water and stars. It was still a few hours from dawn yet. Clearly it was for dramatic effect. “Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate,” He said with a grin.
Will still didn’t understand, evident from the clueless look on his face.
“How much more obvious can I make it for you? You...” He clenched his fingers and his thumb together, to make an impersonation of a mouth. “Y/N,” He did the same with his other hand. He did a motion of them walking together side by side, and then made them talk with voices that actually sounded nothing like Will and noting like you. “Oh Will, you handsome scallywag! Oh Y/N, you remarkable swordswoman!”
Will watched in amazement as the fingers came together and Jack made kissing sounds. They were wet and sloppy, and made him cringe.
“Oh I love you so much Will, why did you have to go and sleep with the harlots? Oh y/n, I’m just a stupid, smelly, useless excuse for a pirate who didn’t know that I was in love with you! Oh Will, you are an idiot, but let’s get married anyway! I do! I do!” He then flopped his hands on top of one another and began clapping, which made Will slap his hands away.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Will glared at Jack. The pirate sighed and went back to his seat. He took out his compass and took a look at it, then looked back at his maps. He said nothing to Will for a while, not until the younger pirate cleared his throat, looking for an explanation.
“If you’re not going to listen to me, mate, then I’m not wasting my words. Get out,” He said, sternly.
-
The next morning, you were ignoring Will still. He was tired, everyone could tell that from the dark circles under his eyes, but that was what it was like to be a pirate. Weird hours, lack of sleep due to the farts and the snores of those who did manage to doze off.
He hadn’t slept because he had stayed up all of the night, thinking about what Jack had said. And done with his hands. He grimaced thinking about it, but then the light dawned on him. Both literally and figuratively, since he had stayed out on the deck until the sun began to rise. He was a stupid, useless excuse for a pirate at times - he was contest the smelly bit - and it had taken him a long time to realize that he was in love with you. That he had only slept with those two women because you had encouraged him to. Because he thought there was no way that you would ever have feelings for him.
The deck seemed quiet, until he heard your familiar steps trodding up the stairs onto the surface. He got to his feet and decided that it was time, before you became busy with your duties. It was time to be a man. He bounced up and down on the balls of his feet. He swung his arms back and forth in front of him. He took a deep breath, preparing himself for what was about to be a tough conversation. He then moved to open the latch to help you up onto the deck -
- but he got hit with it instead, the hard wood hitting him right in the nose.
“Ow-” He whined, falling backwards onto his behind. You, your head popping out from beneath the deck, looked at him with surprise. You ran up the remaining steps and reached towards him - but then you stopped yourself. You remembered that you were angry and that he deserved this for going off with those two women. You straightened your back, and walked past him, not giving him another look. “Hey, wait,” He stammered, getting back to his feet, but you had already walked away. He stood alone, dejectedly, as you talked to other members of the crew and started on your duties.
Breakfast. That’s when he would get you. He was sure of it.
It was a couple of hours later that you were in the small canteen, eating leftover fish pie. The curl of your mouth showed your distaste, but it was better than nothing. Better to eat it while it was somewhat fresh.
“Will you just talk to me?” Will asked, sitting across from you. You avoided looking at him, and fiddled with your fork instead. “Okay, you’re staying, that’s a good sign. How about I talk and you listen?”
“Hmm.” You said, but that was all. It was the most that he had gotten out of you since going out to sea. He’d take it. He cleared his throat, then began.
“I should have told you something the day that I met you. I should have told you that you are the most beautiful woman that I had ever seen. You don’t need corsets or petticoats. Even now, I would die for you. I have loved you from the first, and I’ve acted in madness ever since.”
Tumblr media
It wasn’t like Will to talk so much. Or even to say such romantic words. You looked at him with an expression that he couldn’t read. He grew paranoid that Jack was wrong, which was known to happen on occasion. Maybe you didn’t love him and this was all for nothing.
“I’m not making this up. I love you. And I think that you love me too,” He finished, and folded his hands in front of him, resting them on the table. “Please say something.”
“I’ve seen a lot of fools in my time, Will Turner, and you are the biggest.”
That was not what he was expecting. His cheeks turned red in shame. His mouth opened and closed like a flounder out of water.
“If you loved me from the first,” You mocked. “-You shouldn’t have tried to make me jealous with those women. So forgive me when I say that I don’t really believe you.”
“Believe this, my Lady,” Will stated angrily. He got to his feet, circled around to you - which made it very fortunate that you were against a wall and could not get away without the use of violence - and took hold of your arm. He yanked you up in a semi-painful way, pushed you up against the wall, then pressed his lips to yours. He had expected a fight, or a scream at least. But all that he could feel was you kissing him back, and all that he could hear were disgusted groans and a ‘finally’ from the other pirates trying to eat their meals. You tasted of alcohol, and smelt of salt water, but both were surprisingly pleasant.
“You’re still a fool,” You murmured against his skin, as his lips went towards your neck. You could feel him grin, then nibble at your nape.
“I’ll accept that role,” He whispered. You lightly pushed him off, only to jump up and wrap your legs around his waist, with your arms around his shoulders. He had the strength to hold you up, and you trusted in it.
“Let’s go somewhere a little more private,” You said, nibbling on his earlobe. “Where you can show me what it was that made those girls so impressed.”
“Who?” Will asked, teasingly, hands on your rear, and carried you proudly past the gang of pirates and into one of the storage bays. His nose was still tender, and you were careful to avoid it while you pressed kisses all over his face.
“I like that answer.” You smiled, snuggling against his neck until you were set down upon a crate of biscuits. Not the most romantic place, but with the little bits of light coming in, it didn’t matter since you could see Will’s face perfectly.

Brothers Ch. 6 "Retired Commander and Captain"
(A slow morning for Cody and Rex.)
Cody was up by 0600 like most mornings. When he was in the army, he would consider 0600 sleeping in. He supposes he’s gone a little soft since being out. His morning routine was nothing glamorous. He normally showers but today he’s skipped that step, shaves, spends a small amount of time making sure his hair is in order, then dresses in sensible clothing. Today he plans on going for a run, so he wears breathable workout clothes.
“What are you doing? Come back to bed…” A sleepy voice calls. Cody walks out of the bathroom and leans against the doorway with a smile. Obi Wan is turned on his side with their red sheets resting at his waist. His usual neat and tidy hair now sticks in every direction.
“Can’t. Promised Rex I’d kidnap him for a run.” He walks over to sit on the bed. Obi Wan reaches out to gently touch Cody’s wrist. Cody leans forward planting a gentle kiss on Obi Wan’s forehead. “Go back to sleep. I should be back before you finish getting ready.”
Obi Wan grabs his shirt when he starts to pull away. He presses his lips to Cody’s before falling back on his pillow and rolling to his side of the bed.
“Very well. Run an extra mile for me.” He yawns while pulling the sheets up to his shoulders.
“Always do.” Cody pushes himself off the bed. Before leaving their room, he walks to his closet out of habit. He checks on his Mandalorian armor making sure it was still in tip top shape as if it would change from his last inspection before bed. With there being no changes, he leaves their room.
Cody and Obi Wan live in a luxurious spacious apartment. Only riveled by Padme’s and Skywalker’s. He walks across their pristine white marble floor to their white clean kitchen. Everything is sleek and modern just how they liked it. After leaving the Jedi Order they both developed a certain taste for things. Ahsoka had called it being boujee. Whatever the hell that means. He starts the caf so it will be ready when Obi Wan wakes and for when he gets back from his run. He leaves their apartment and makes his way down to the lobby.
“Morning Wooley.” Cody says as he passes his brother behind the main desk. After Obi Wan purchased this building, he gave a few jobs to the 212th. They’re simple jobs but his men seem to enjoy it. It doesn’t hurt that they all congregate in the speakeasy in the back. Easy to make 212th meetings if you work in the building.
“Early as ever Sir. Want me to pull your speeder around?” He asks.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll just call a cab.” Cody says. When he’s on the street he hails the cab while taking in the sun’s rays. Cody always loved Coruscant in the morning. Wasn’t as busy as during the day or rowdy like at night. Though, things definitely got more interesting when the sun went down. Cody sits in the back of the cab admiring the buildings as they passed. Rex didn’t live to far and he could have walked it but knowing Rex he only has a finite time to reach him before the man collapses back into deep sleep. When the cab parks in front of Rex’s building, Cody slips out and pays the man. Before walking inside, he can’t help but glance at Skywalkers building only a block further down. Most people in this area are Senators or work in high-ranking positions. Not even on the handsome funds that Cody and Obi Wan pull in from the Jinn clan could they afford a place in this area.
Cody walks through the lobby and nods at the stern man behind the front desk. He meets his eyes before looking back to his screen. Cody punches in the code that grants access to the lift and rides it up to Rex’s floor. When he approaches Rex’s front door, he can already hear the madness on the other side. Cody grins before knocking. After a few moments the door opens when a blue twi’lek girl appears.
“Good morning Luna. I’ve come to kidnap your father.” Cody says. The teenager turns her face inside.
“Dad! Uncle Cody’s here!” She yells. She steps aside so Cody can walk in. While Obi Wan and Cody preferred a modern home that mostly consists of white marble and sleek finishes, Rex liked a more rustic feel. While the wall facing outward to the city is made of almost entirely of glass the other walls are exposed brick with exposed wood beams and columns. His floors, when not covered in scattered toys or clothes, are a light hardwood. It definitely felt more homy then Cody’s.
“You off to school?” Cody asks when the door shuts behind him.
“Yeah, just waiting on the gremlin to get ready.” She says, crossing her arms.
“That’s not a nice thing to call your brother.” Cody eyes her.
“Sorry,” She nods. “I meant to say bantha.”
Cody has to hold back a laugh. Luna slides across the floor in her long school socks to retrieve her datapad. Cody almost jumps when a woman rushes down the stairs holding a human toddler in her arms. Her blonde curly hair bounces with every jerk of her head. Cody crosses his arms with a smile waiting Morrigan to notice him. Her frantic busy eyes scan the kitchen island that is cluttered in papers, cups, and toys.
“My keys… where are my keys?” She asks with her one free hand held out frustratedly. Cody takes this time to walk forward. She stares at him slightly taken off guard before calming back down.
“I believe,” Cody starts while reaching for the thing in the toddler’s hands. “I’ve found them.”
Morrigan closes her eyes relieved.
“Thank you, Cody.” She says placing a hand on his shoulder. “You must be here for Rex.”
“Yes, I had planned on kidnapping him.” Cody explains. He leans against the messy kitchen island. She gives a sarcastic eyeroll.
“Good luck. I’m afraid my nine year old has beaten you to it.” She walks over to her bag to rummage through it. As if speaking his name summoned him, Rex walks down the stairs with his son slung over his shoulders.
“I don’t want to go!” Bjorn yells but shows no real struggle. Rex lets out long sigh.
“I know,” He says while setting the boy down. Bjorn’s a spitting image of his father. Well, Cody guessed all clones really, but he was Rex’s boy through and through. “But you have to. Otherwise, mum and I are going to go to prison!”
The boy rolls his eyes. He tries to walk away but is stopped by Rex’s hand. Rex pulls out a pair of glasses and puts them on Bjorn’s face.
“But…”
“No buts. You’re wearing them.” Rex waves a finger at the boy with a stern eye. Bjorn says nothing while grabbing his school bag and walks over to his eldest sister.
“Be safe! Don’t take your eyes off each other!” Morrigan calls when the two eldest children walk towards the front door.
“We know!” They yell back before closing the door behind them. With two out of the three kids gone the adults took this moment to breathe. Rex looks to Cody for the first time.
“Sorry that you had to walk in on our hectic mornings.” Rex says looking more tired than he did when they left to go home last night.
“Don’t worry about it. Love any chance I get to see my favorite nieces and nephew.” Cody says. Morrigan shifts her daughter while slinging her bag over her other shoulder.
“Well, I’m off to work. I’m running late as it is. Cody, try not to kill my husband. I do enjoy his company.” She says walking past him. She walks for the door making Rex chuckle.
“Love?” Rex calls.
“Yes?” She turns back around.
“I’m not sure how your meeting is going to go while holding Serin.” Rex crosses his arms. Morrigan pauses realizing her daughter is still in her arms. She shuffles over and hands her to Rex before giving him a quick kiss and rushing for the door. Rex calls out “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!”
Morrigan responds by letting out a loud and sarcastic laugh while running out the door. Rex shakes his head while smiling at Serin who is content just sitting in Rex’s arms.
“If its just you and Serin we can go for a run another day?” Cody offers. Rex lets out a tired sigh.
“Nah, we’ll bring her along.”
After getting little Serin situated in a stroller Cody and Rex do a short stretch in front of Rex’s building. After they feel warmed up, they start jogging. When Cody goes for a run with Obi Wan they usually start out much faster and go for longer but ever since becoming a dad Rex has lost a bit of his steam. They run a few blocks before stopping at a crosswalk. Rex leans over with his hands on his knees breathing heavily.
“You okay?” Cody raises a brow at him.
“Don’t judge me Cody… I’ve got three kids…” He breathes before straightening up and pushing the stroller as he continues to run. Everything is so different now then it was when they were in the army. Before he and Rex ran a tight ship. Nothing got past them, and they were constantly working to keep their bodies and minds in top physical condition. Now, they’ve learned to take it easy and take things as they come. Not that they’ve gone completely soft. Cody and Rex still pride themselves on their combat skills and marksmanship.
They decide to end their run early when Serin starts to get fussy. They now walk at a comfortable pace after stopping to buy the child a juice box. Cody and Rex drink one of their own.
“So,” Rex says after they toss their drained juice boxes. “What are we going to do about that batch of clones?”
That batch. Cody knew exactly what he was talking about. Cody lets out a sigh through his nose.
“I could use some guys like that. It’s hard to find younger clones so willing to run into battle.” Cody starts.
“True but running headfirst into danger isn’t always a good thing.” Rex says making Cody laugh.
“Ironic coming from you!” Cody says wincing when Rex elbows him.
“All I’m saying is that they seem a little to eager.”
“What do you expect? They’re too young to have seen any battle but to old to not remember life and training on Kamino. They trained for a Republic that already didn’t want them.” Cody snorts. They fall silent for a moment. Memories of the days after the war. When it first ended everyone was so happy. It may have only been one real battle but so many clones and Jedi had died. Everyone celebrated and the clones were seen as heroes. For a time. Then the Jedi who had fought beside so many of the clones turned away from them. Some completely abandoning squads on random planets trying to wrangle up any remaining separatists. The anger from those times still burns in Cody and Rex.
As they contemplated on the past, they can hear the shouting of protests. Cody and Rex exchange looks before continuing on. They find a large crowd surrounding a stage built of crates with a few clones standing on top.
“We fought their war and look how they treat us?” A clone yells. Cody stops to stare at him. He looks familiar. “Clones only earn a small percentage compared to any other species on Coruscant but we far outnumber any other species when it comes to homelessness! We’re denied basic rights!”
Cody is both surprised and pleased to see that the crowd is a good mix of nonclones and clones. Serin starts to get fussy again, so they start to walk on. As they walk away from the rally, they can hear them chanting “We fought your fight now give us rights!”all the way down the block.
They decide to take a rest on a park bench and let Serin stretch her legs.
“That was Slick up there, wasn’t it?” Rex asks. Cody nods. He holds a twig that Serin hands him before she waddles off.
“I just hope he keeps it peaceful.” Cody sighs. Rex lets out a snort.
“He’s not wrong though. Some clones are lucky and get decent jobs and live a normal life. Most aren’t. unless they want to live like us working as bounty hunters and mercenaries. We do okay but this life isn’t for everyone. It’s most certainly not one I want my children.”
Cody looks over at Rex who keeps his eyes on his daughter.
“Bjorn looks just like us. What happens when he’s older and he can’t get a job because his face resembles mine? Serin… well I tell myself she’ll do fine because she’s a girl and she takes after her mother thank the Force. But I do worry about them.” Rex scoops his daughter in his arms and holds her close. She doesn’t appreciate this and squirms out of his arms to continue playing.
“I hate to break this to you Rex old boy, but your son is probably going to become a bounty hunter just because he has your wife’s attitude.” Cody says making Rex laugh.
“Oh, don’t I know it too?” Rex shakes his head. His face settles into a sad smile. “Still… I want him to have a choice.”
Cody lets out a breath while leaning back.
“Then I guess we’ll have to hope Fox and Padme can pull through.” Cody looks up at the sky before staring at Rex when he lets out a pfft.
“Never thought you would be saying that did ya?” Rex snorts making Cody laugh.
“Fuckin’ Fox man… who knew?” Cody shakes his head. When they fall silent again Rex leans on his knees.
“So, what are we going to do about that batch?” Rex asks again. Cody leans his head back with his eyes closed.
“I don’t know…” He groans. “Wolffe has probably already recruited them but… then they have the Force sensitive ones and I’m sure Skywalker will throw a fit if he doesn’t get them.”
“Yeah, probably. He and Ahsoka were fighting about it the other night. But they were drinking so it quickly turned into who’s fault it was who crashed the last ship.” Rex says with his chin perched on his hand.
“… It was Anakin, wasn’t it?”
“It’s always Anakin.” Rex nods making Cody chuckle. They sit in silence again while watching Serin play.
“You don’t think that day we ran into that batch wasn’t a bit…”
“Perfect?” Rex finishes for him. “Yeah. I know.”
“I mean all three of us were recruited for the job and then the batch is there for no apparent reason, and they were carrying blasters which according to our research none of them can afford. Seems like that whole event was planned.” Cody watches Rex carefully. His face is unchanging but deliberately still. “It has her fingerprints all over it.”
“I know.” He says softly.
“That means those boys are probably in over their heads. It might be best if we cut off all ties with them. Save ourselves a headache.” Cody says aware of how stiff Rex is next to him. It’s so apparent that Serin walks over to try and mess with his face. He loosens up so not to bother her.
“I’ll deal with it, Cody.” He says sternly. He stands with his daughter in his arms. He puts her back in her stroller telling Cody it was time to go. Cody doesn’t push the subject any further. Rex has a complicated history after the war. It often comes back to haunt him. Cody walks beside his friend feeling bad for even bringing her up. They would have to come up with a plan for that batch another day. Today Cody was only focused on getting back to the apartment to catch Obi Wan before he left for the senate.

ok so this is the piece i was talking about and basically it was something for chrismas (in the story its called life day) so theres that. more notes at the end ig
warnings: fighting, cursing, alcohol, drinking, c h a o s
words: 2205 (damn)
Eli was too tired for a “meeting” with anyone today, but he still decided to hear Agent Kallus out. After all, it was rare that the imperial officer even asked for anything, so it must have been something big.
And while, technically it wasn’t as big as Eli predicted, it still was something he found weird.
“Please, Eli, I don’t care what you have to do, just please help me out this one time!” Kallus was almost about to drop to his knees begging, and what for, you might ask? Life Day was a little more than a day away, and it was on a Friday. Of course, everyone had thought it would be a great idea to plan a Life Day party for the meeting instead of their usual bullshit, but it didn’t go as planned.
The last meeting was full of angry names, curses and one (1) knocked out director. So, of course, the only people who had planned the party peacefully were the only ones who made the final decisions. Which, of course, was you, Eli and Yularen. Kallus wasn’t present at the meeting, and Pryce had passed out early throughout the meeting, so neither of them were able to even plan anything. This is where Eli's problems began.
Kallus was actually looking forward to the Life Day celebration, because, in his own words, “It’s a festive day, what’s more to like?” Eli had a sneaking suspicion it was for something else. And he was correct. Since Kallus wasn’t present at the meeting and wasn’t elected to plan out the party, he had no say in what they served, including drinks, food, and most importantly, the type of alcohol. This is why Kallus was begging Eli to help him smuggle a certain type of beer onto the ship for the party.
Eli pinched the bridge of his nose while he spoke, “Why can’t you just do this yourself?” Kallus stopped for a moment, before continuing, “This particular… the beverage is, well, technically, prohibited in official Imperial territory because its known for being produced by rebellious groups.” Kallus saw how Eli was grabbing his things, probably to leave, so he rushed to the doorway to block Elis only escape.
“HOWEVER,” Kallus continued, “I have placed a shipment to arrive near a docking bay at the next planet that we are heading to. All I need is a distraction and I can bring the shipment aboard.” Eli still looked skeptical, but Kallus intervened, “Not only that, but the shipment is small, only about the size of the meeting table, so it won’t even get in the way!”
Eli thought for a moment, wondering what he should do. “Why do you even want this beverage at the party, anyway? What’s so good about it?” Kallus straightened up, before he said, “I have tasted this drink before it was classified as illegal, and it was the best thing I have ever tasted. I can assure you that this sacrifice will be worth it.”
Well, usually when it's about food, Kallus has terrible taste, but when it's alcohol…
Eli sat for a moment, wondering if he should take up Kallus’ offer, and thought of the benefits and liabilities. Finally, he answered Kallus. “Alright, I’ll make a distraction for tomorrow. What time will the shipment be here?”
Kallus showed a face of relief, before he finally responded “Yes, thank you! Oh- the shipment is at 0900.”
Eli nodded and watched as Kallus walked out of the room with surprising confidence. Eli picked up his datapad, only to realize one thing: Who was going to distract an entire cargo bay? At this he suddenly regretted his decision. He set his datapad down, wondering who he could trust and who was someone willing to even do that. Thrawn? No, he isn’t particularly fond of Kallus. Pryce? Would probably use it as blackmail for something. Yularen… yeah, no, he already gets hungover. That left only you.
He made a mini checklist that would help him determine who would be best for this task. You were someone he trusts. You would definitely be willing to pull it off. And you definitely could distract an entire hangar. He pulled out his comm and pulled up your number, and started to call you. When you answered, you appeared to be sitting at a table. You looked to someone off screen and asked them to give you some privacy before turning back to Eli. “Eli, what can I do for you today?”
Eli shuffled a bit, before asking, “I was wondering if you could help me distract a hangar bay for some beer.” You tilted your head, and asked “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Eli explained, “Kallus wants to drink a certain beer that's been prohibited by the Empire for the party on Friday, but he still ordered some and they’re going to arrive on the moon we’re landing on tomorrow, and he needs a distraction to bring the drinks in the ship. I was wondering if you were able to distract the hangar while he smuggles the shipment into the meeting room.”
You sat there for a moment, and finally responded with, “Fuck it, I’m bored.” Eli smiled and said his goodbyes before pocketing the comm and walking out of the room towards his post for the day.
-------------------------------------
You had already gotten a plan, somehow. It wasn’t your best, but it still was a plan. One of your good friends, Pryce, was talking about how she had to settle a dispute with two stormtroopers that were angry at each other over something, something about it was about a woman named Elisa. The first part of your plan was to acquire a datapad that one of the stormtroopers who was in the feud used quite often and make a fake conversation. You took note that his name was Trenk.
You walked down the hallway, towards the stormtrooper quarters, and stopped at a living area. It wasn’t lavish, but it wasn’t disgusting, either. It was modest. You saw two people in the room itself, and then the same two started to argue. You made your presence known, and as they both were about to throw hands, they saw you enter the room and immediately stopped. You smiled and asked, “Hello. I see that you two are busy. However, I need a datapad from this particular core. The higher ups have noticed some security breaches, and they need some form of evidence to prove their theories. If you have one, or if you know someone in this core to have one, please tell HR.” You were about to turn around when you saw one of them pull out a datapad and hand it to you. You smiled, “Thank you. This will be returned to you in the morning, earliest 0800.”
And with that, you left and started phase II of your plan. When you walked into your office, you pulled his messenger tabs and looked for this ‘Elisa’, and finally found her. Looking through the messages, you found a few that were a little more spicier than the others. You screenshotted them, and then edited the dates to more recent times. You smiled and then put the datapad down for the next part of your plan. You looked at what was going to be picked up that day, on the planet, and made sure that the placement of certain items were going to be placed in a certain way.
With that, you returned to your normal duties until the next day.
-------------------------------------
Walking towards the hangar that was picking up items and disposing of others, you saw the trooper who was having the fight with Trenk walking towards his post. You rushed up to him, and held out the datapad. “Trooper, thank you for your contribution- Oh, I see you're not him. Hmm. Well, I saw you with him, so if you could give this to him when you see him, that would be appreciated.” You turned around, and then followed it up with, “Oh, and when you see him, please tell him to refrain from using Imperial property for his personal use. That might lead to another data breach and its unprofessional.”
The trooper looked back at you, and while you walked off you were able to hear his angry tapping trying to find out what you were talking about, and since he only saw one of the screenshots, he wasn’t able to tell they were edited. He cursed and rushed past you, towards the hangar.
You watched as he turned the corner, before comming Kallus, sending him “Now would be a good time to smuggle your drink on”. You strolled past some troopers to see what was about to go down.
When you did reach the hangar bay, you noticed that the chaos had already started. Both troopers had thrown hands with each other, but this caused some of the items that were being disposed of to knock over which somehow caused another fist fight. Then you noticed that one third of the hangar was just fighting each other. The other third were just trying to stop all the fighting, and then finally the final third were cheering the fight on. And in the corner of the hangar, you saw a tarped hover cart was pushing its way towards the entrance.
-------------------------------------
Thrawn looked through the security cameras, watching as chaos erupted in the hangar. He saw one person body slam somebody. Another grabbed someone and threw them against two other people who were fighting with each other. Tarkin snickered behind him. Yularen was worried about the cargo, and Eli just stared in astonishment as he saw chaos unfold. He knew you were good at these things: he just didn’t realize how good you were.
Finally, he saw Thrawn reach over to speak on the PA. “This is Grand Admiral Thrawn, if you happen to be in hangar bay 6, please refrain from punching your peers, there is cargo that still needs to be delivered. I repeat, hangar bay 6, refrain from punching your peers. There will be court martials for those who do not comply.”
Slowly but steadily, the four men saw that people were being pulled apart and medics were able to rush in to help the injured. Of course, nothing too serious, but it was a complication in the day. Eli looked at Thrawn, who looked like he just wanted to be swallowed into a hole, while Tarkin was just refraining from laughing. Yularen just pulled out a flask and downed the bottle.
This was going to be a long day.
When the Chimera was able to get back into space, everyone had to attend a mandatory meeting where Thrawn stated that if there was a problem with another peer that they worked with, it was better to work it out without fighting. You just sat in the back, smiling.
-------------------------------------
“Damn, Kallus, you really pulled through with these drinks.” You took another sip of the beer that he had brought. It was only your 2nd, since you weren’t an avid drinker, but everyone else was either wasted or just drunk. You yourself were starting to feel woozy. Kallus smiled and took a sip of his own drink. He was starting to get a little drunk himself.
“You know, you’re not supposed to be starting fights.” he said, watching as the others talked amongst themselves. “I know, but then we wouldn’t have any beer would we?” you held up your glass, offering a toast to him. He did the same, and then you both drank the rest of your glasses. You were about to continue the conversation, when you saw Thrawn slam his glass on the table and stumble over, point to Kallus and say, “Square up, bitch.”
Kallus looked surprised for a moment, before asking, “E-Excuse me, sir?” Thrawn stared right into him with anger in his eyes. “Your being too friendly with my wife-” “Sir, she isn’t your wife-” “not YET-” “Thrawn, it’s fine, here, lets go and-” Thrawn finally reached Kallus and just straight up punched him, knocking the blond down, and then just start beating him up. You leaned against the wall as Kallus regained his composure and then grabbed Thrawn's collar and tossed him away before getting up, grabbing his shirt along the way, and then hurling him onto the table. At this point they had everyone's attention. Deciding to document this, and placing it in the wondrous hall of “Times Thrawn should’ve taken his own advice”, you posed in the camera, and then took the actual picture.
Not looking at the fight in front of you, you study the photo and see Thrawn and Kallus beating the shit out of each other, Yularen panicking, Eli trying to get Thrawn to stop, Pryce posing since she saw you taking a photo, and Tarkin and Krennic seemingly betting on who was going to win. Vader was just standing in the corner. You titled the photo “If you have a problem with your peers, please attempt to try and solve the problem diplomatically.” you saved the photo and then put your drink down to go and help your boyfriend.

we (don’t) need a medic
pairing: kix / reader
word count: 1629
summary: you’re suffering from your monthly cycle and kix is the only one that knows how to take care of you because the rest of the 501st are absolutely clueless.
request: “Would I be able to ask for some kix content? He truly is the goodest boy of the 501st. Maybe him being really fluffy and taking care of you durring your time of the month, having the worst cramps you’ve ever had and you eventually accepting his begs to take you to the med bay ?”
a/n: the anon that requested this predicted the rising of the bloody waters and now i’m suffering, but at least them and i are suffering together. i hope i didn’t deviate too much from the original prompt! i’m not sure this makes sense but i like it
warnings: mentions of period blood, mild cursing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the day began with your sheets and nightclothes being stained, and realizing soon after you had no clean sheets to replace the ones you bled through the night before. the mechanics weren’t due to have bedding changed for another two days and you refused to sleep on bloody sheets.
you groaned as you stripped the bedding away, wadding it up and throwing it into a corner. a shower would do you good, you assumed. the water would help ease your problems away, no doubt. wrong.
turns out your past self forgot to replenish your soaps, and now you were barely scraping by to get clean on the worst possible day. cursing all the while, you made do with what you had. well showering was a bust; maybe spending time with the guys would fix your sour mood.
getting dressed and prepared for the day went as well as you had expected it to, which was not at all. you were out of both pads and tampons - essentially, you were screwed. but wait, you had a few washcloths in the fresher, you could just wrap one of those around where your pad would go, simple as that. wouldn’t be the most comfortable thing but at least you wouldn’t be bleeding everywhere.
things went smooth for a while. being on leave meant a lot more joking around with the guys, then spending some of their free time with you in the hangar just messing around and occasionally passing you tools. you’d been tinkering with one particularly unruly laat/i for nearly an hour and it was about to get on your last nerve.
the only thing keeping you from punching the ship in frustration was the banter of fives, hardcase, and jesse. it was a pleasant deterrent, the things they rambled on always having a hint of humor and bravado to them. it kept you from thinking about the near-debilitating cramps you were pushing through, a hand occasionally setting down a tool to massage a tense section of your abdomen for a brief moment.
they were going on about a member of another battalion, jort, and how the brother had scandalously modified his blacks to accommodate for the felucian heatwave. but then they stopped talking mid-word and it sent goosebumps along your skin.
something was wrong.
“hey, uh,” hardcase began. but since he didn’t know what to say, the two syllables just stayed on their own.
“are you okay?” fives was worried, you could tell. what about, you were clueless.
“i think we need to get kix, that shouldn’t be happening...”
if it was bad enough to get kix, it was plenty enough to worry you. “boys, what’s goin’ on?” your tone was cautious as you rolled out from under the laat/i.
apparently your words sent them off the cliffs of worry and straight into the waters of panic. “you don’t feel that?!” “oh kriff, please don’t die!” “we need a medic here!” the three troopers swarmed you and began fussing over you like a mother tooka would her kittens. you still didn’t know what had them so frantic until-
oh. oh, no.
you could feel the puddle now and oh fierfek was it terrible. you already knew that it would have seeped through your jumpsuit and now you were positive as to what exactly had your friends so panicked. “no no no no, listen to me, we don’t need a medic. this is perfectly normal, it happens all the time-”
in hindsight you realize the implication that you spontaneously bleed all the time isn’t the best way to reassure the men in front of you. “this what?!” hardcase’s eyes were seconds from ejecting themselves from their sockets at the declaration.
a small crowd had begun to gather and you were far too tempted to fling yourself through the static blue barrier between you and the vacuum of space. this didn’t even make the list of things you didn’t want to happen today because it was too outlandish a scenario to entertain, but alas, here you were. a few more vain attempts were made to explain the situation but they were not having it. they thought you were about to die in front of them and no one was quiet enough to let you actually explain.
“what’s the problem?”
your heart stopped for a brief moment when you recognized the voice. of all the medics aboard this ship, did the nearest medic to the hangar have to be kix? the medic shoved his way through the small (but ever-growing) gathering of brothers where hardcase, fives, and jesse were huddled around your sitting form.
“we were just talkin’ and having a good time and-”
“then we look down and there’s blood everywhere-”
“and they said it happened all the time!-”
“are they gonna die?!”
the trio were talking over each other trying to explain the story to kix. this entire scene was starting to overwhelm you. you tried to block it out by putting your head in your hands but that only caused their worries to be voiced louder.
kix, thank the maker for kix, was quick to catch on to your dilemma. he commanded the three worriers to disperse the crowd that had amassed while he bent to your height, his voice soft. “when did it start?” oh thank the maker, he actually knew that you weren’t about to die.
“this morning, woke up covered in it.” kix nodded in sympathy, a hand resting on yours. it was warm and comforting, a little rough from being surrounded by the sterility of the medbay but soothing just the same. he asked you about your cramps and you admitted that they were nearly intolerable. before another question could be posed, fives cuts kix off with a worried shout.
“you woke up covered in your own blood and didn’t think to go to the medbay?!”
fives’s words struck panic into everyone that still hadn’t left the area and you wanted to throttle the arc trooper, just wrap your hands around his throat and shake him as violently as you could. kix, however, decided that it was the perfect time to dead leg the arc before reassuring everyone that he had the problem taken care of, that you would be okay after a trip to the medbay.
you didn’t really want to go, you just wanted to crawl into your bunk and let your body wither away into nothing. but the worry and sympathy in the medic’s eyes, the warmth of his hand on yours, it took little more than that to convince you.
he stood and offered you a hand up, which you took with a soft smile. “we can swing by your bunk and get some clean clothes, then we can get you a bed. that sound alright?” honestly you thought a bed was overkill, but kix was someone you never could bring yourself to deny. a nod and a shout to mind their own business paved the way for your departure from the hangar.
--------
“shouldn’t i hide the blood so no one else gets the wrong idea?” the question rose to the front of your mind as you turned your back on the hangar, unsure as to where it came from but thankful for the idea nonetheless.
“yeah, let me help you with that.”
that was new. a second later he was in front of you, partly unzipping your jumpsuit (you always wore a tank top under it in case you got hot while working). your eyes followed his hands as they moved the front zipper down achingly slow, like he was opening a gift instead of partly stripping you.
once your arms were released from the sleeves, he eased it off your shoulders with a gentle hand that had you melting. something about the way his hands felt against your skin in this strangely intimate manner had you in a tailspin.
his eyes met yours and you were drawn in, little gods you felt like you were on fire. he still had a hand on your shoulder and the skin to skin contact was branding you like cattle. you flicked your eyes to his lips for a moment, silently offering your own to him. his did the same and just as you were going to accept his wordless offer, voices nearby brought you both out of your reverie.
walking in the halls of the resolute, the air between you and kix was charged with the remnants of the almost-kiss. your mind was running through scenarios, like how would his lips feel against yours? what would he taste like? where would he put his hands, on the sides of your face or on your hips? there were so many unanswered questions that you didn’t even realize that you were in front of your door.
a gentle tap against your knuckles brought you back to the present. “i’ll wait out here while you grab what you need. don’t rush-”
you cut the medic off as you pulled him into your quarters, shutting the door and immediately pushing him against it. he caught on quick to your intentions, hands coming to rest on your hips (there was your answer, your mind supplied). even through your jumpsuit you could feel his warmth against your skin.
you leaned in close to him as you replied, “i would never think of rushing, not this.” lips crashed together, neither of you sure who leaned in first but knowing that right then was the closest to heaven either of you had been. his hands gripped your hips tight as he pulled you against him, your hands holding his face.
time meant nothing as you stayed in there with him, the blood all but a means to an end.
