Sense & Sensibility should be called, Men with Secret Pasts. Edward can't marry Elinor because he has long been engaged to Lucy, Colonel Brandon hasn't been around because he has a ward from his former love who has gone missing, and Willoughby left Marianne because he seduced and impregnated that very ward!
More than any other Jane Austen book, the past actions of men, specifically Edward and Willoughby, are getting in the way of the future happiness of women. There is nothing Elinor or Marianne could have done better, they were loving men that had already made mistakes.
Or maybe this should be called, Men Ruining the Lives of Women. John Dashwood doesn't help his sisters (sure, Fanny talked him into it but he held the purse), Willoughby has ruined one woman completely and devestated Marianne, Colonel Brandon's brother destroyed Eliza the 1st, Uncle Dashwood decided against giving the girls a proper inheritance, and Edward's foolish decision to propose to Lucy has hurt Elinor.
There is nothing that any of the Dashwoods could have done better. No, not even Marianne, in my humble opinion.

hovers ominously in the corner of your room….. i think you should talk abt zor taking their little kity to galas or i’ll die don’t let me die
okay... sniles
I don't think Zor makes public appearances very often. But on one of the rare occasions they do, they accompany the Fabricator to a gala. Well. Really, she accompanies them, dragged along to an event she could really care less about and pinned to their side the entire time.
And, of course, everyone is talking about it. It's a rather unexpected couple appearance, and clearly there's something going on between them, judging from the way Zor has their arm around her the entire evening. And the matching outfits. The Fabricator discarding her signature blue and purple tones with a splash of red, opting for red and black and gold... It's all people seem to talk about.
And once the two return from a secluded area of the building, the Fabricator's lipstick smeared. Well. That certainly doesn't help matters.
It's one of Zor's tactics, really. Humiliate her in front of her peers. Further isolate her. Her reputation is in shambles... Where else could she go? Nobody would respect her now. They both know how the spaces they belong to are... They'll eat the Fabricator alive for that. Tear her to shreds.
Zor knows she'll never forget her place again... She's theirs, and everyone knows it.

watching barbie with my friends made me realize i take feminism way more seriously than them because i know barbie's approach to feminism is pretty basic (even though needed) but while i thought it gave too much credit and softened the blow to men they couldn't stop talking about allan or ken's redemption arc or whatever and it feels hopeless because i know even though they don't say it that when i talk about not caring not believing not trusting any man ever they think it's a joke or a performance or a childish belief i have because i am a lesbian that i will eventually grow out of i am but a girl's girl stuck in a men-centering friend group

I got slammed on tik tok for saying this and now I'm gonna say it on Tumblr
Accusing Timothy Heller of pretending to be trans is transphobic and you're spreading a harmful narrative about trans people that is literally preventing us from getting hrt.
"but my favorite singer was falsely accused of rape 🥺" bitch I don't give a fuck, a 16-year-old trans girl was murdered this year and everyone forgot. I could get denied my transition cause of my autism diagnosis, do you think I care about celebrity drama from 2017? I have a friend who can't leave Texas cause they're undocumented and if Texas makes trans people illegal they're fucked. Funny how the world has bigger problems then the less than 500 people who still believe the rumors made about your cult leader.
If shitting on the person who spread rumors about your favorite celebrity is more important to you than the rights and bodily autonomy of a marginalized community, then you never cared about trans people at all and you deserve to die in the same ditch as JK Rowling and Kalvin Garrah.
PS, if you're cis stfu, because I, a trans person, have more of a say over what is and isn't transphobic

I find it so funny when people see a woman do or say something potentially predatory/disrespectful/malicious to a man and they're all like "can you imagine the response if a man did this to a woman?? he'd be destroyed!!! his career would be over!!!" as though men don't treat women like shit every single day with little to no consequences

tw; rant including mentions of school sh**tings, anti-trans laws, and n*zi germany
i seriously don’t think i can take anymore negativity towards the trans community. we’ve already lost so many trans people within not even four months. conservatives are paraphrasing quotes from fucking nazi germany.
anymore negativity towards our beautiful community, and i’m down as well.
republicans don’t give a shit if a school gets shot up, but they care soo much about drag performances and “ohhh noooo my kid can’t be trans!! i still have bullshit societal gender norms imprinted in my brain!!!1!1!!”. if they really want kids to “be safe”, they’d eradicate guns. not trans people.
in conclusion, we’re kinda absolutely fucked unless we get the bricks out.

Oh my goodness! I love historical clothing! I don't know what it is about it. I have a (potentially stupid) question, weren't corsets essentially a bra of sorts and sometimes helped with posture? Or did I get that wrong? Hope you're having a good day/night!
hi nonny! i feel that btw idk what got me into it aside from maybe a love of detail?
not stupid at all! corsets were essentially what a bra does today: it provided structure to help a person's outfit function better. i think you can say that essentially were a bra but, like... longer since they more-so covered both the chest and the torso (until the invention of the bra, which separated them into two pieces).
corsets also do sometimes help (since i've heard of people who use them now for the same purpose) with posture! while corsets can slightly restrict movement in terms of how easily a person can bend at the waist (you're supposed to lift with your legs when it comes to carrying heavy things anyhow), they helped with posture by basically making you shift some weight off of your spine.
i could go into it more if u would like (although it'd take me a bit since i do light research to make sure i'm remembering things correctly), but i hope that answers your questions! have a nice day/night as well <3
