8 Tips for Improving Menstrual Health
Menstrual health is an important part of a woman's overall health. Menstruation is a natural process that happens every month, but it can be uncomfortable or even painful. In this article, I will discuss eight ways to improve menstrual health.
Tip 1: Eat a Healthy Diet
Eating a healthy diet is essential for menstrual health. A balanced diet that includes foods like fish, poultry, eggs, beans, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables can help alleviate menstrual discomfort. Avoiding processed foods and excessive sugar intake can also minimize symptoms of discomfort during menstruation.
Tip 2: Stay Hydrated
Drinking enough water throughout the day is crucial for menstrual health. Drinking plenty of water helps to flush out toxins and reduce bloating, which is a common symptom during menstruation. Consuming liquids such as herbal teas, fresh juices, coconut water, and plain water can also be beneficial.
Tip 3: Exercise Regularly
Regular exercise can reduce the intensity of menstrual cramps. Exercise improves circulation, which can help to stabilize serotonin levels and reduce the severity of cramps. Some excellent exercises for menstrual cramps include yoga, jogging, cycling, and swimming.
Tip 4: Maintain Good Hygiene
Good menstrual hygiene involves using clean sanitary products like pads, tampons, or menstrual cups. Regularly changing these products to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria is also key to good hygiene. Additionally, keeping the vaginal area clean during menstruation can reduce the risk of infections like yeast infections.
Tip 5: Get Adequate Sleep and Rest
Getting enough sleep and rest during menstruation is important for better menstrual health. Sleep helps to regulate hormones and helps the body rejuvenate. Fatigue and stress are common issues during menstruation and can lead to menstrual cramps and pain. Getting enough rest and avoiding overexertion may reduce the severity of menstrual symptoms.

Menstrual Treatment in Thane: How Dr. Aditi Godbole Can Help
Tumblr media
Menstrual issues, including irregular cycles, heavy bleeding, cramps, and other discomforts, can significantly impact a woman’s quality of life. In Thane, Menstrual treatment in Thane is gaining attention as women seek more specialized and effective solutions for their menstrual health. Dr. Aditi Godbole, an expert in women’s health, offers comprehensive care for menstrual problems, combining modern medical techniques with holistic approaches to ensure women experience relief and better overall health.
What is Menstrual?
Menstrual addresses a range of issues related to a woman’s menstrual cycle. Common conditions like heavy periods (menorrhagia), painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea), irregular cycles, and hormonal imbalances are treated with personalized care plans. Dr. Aditi Godbole offers a detailed consultation where she evaluates the patient’s symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle to create a tailored treatment strategy.
The treatment options include hormonal therapies, lifestyle adjustments, medications to manage pain or heavy bleeding, and, in some cases, surgical interventions like laparoscopy or hysteroscopy for more severe conditions. Menstrual treatment in Thane at Dr. Aditi’s clinic aims to alleviate symptoms, restore regular cycles, and improve a woman’s reproductive health. Dr. Aditi uses evidence-based approaches to provide effective treatment while ensuring comfort and minimal invasiveness.
Stages of Menstrual Treatment
When it comes to Menstrual treatment in Thane, it generally follows specific stages to ensure that each aspect of a woman’s menstrual health is addressed carefully:
Consultation and Diagnosis: The first stage involves a thorough consultation with Dr. Aditi Godbole, where your menstrual symptoms are discussed, and a complete medical history is taken. Based on this, diagnostic tests like ultrasound or blood tests may be recommended to identify any underlying conditions such as hormonal imbalances, fibroids, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Treatment Plan Development: After diagnosis, Dr. Aditi formulates a personalized treatment plan that may include medications, hormone therapies, or lifestyle changes. The goal is to regulate the menstrual cycle, reduce excessive bleeding, or relieve pain, depending on the diagnosed condition.
Follow-up and Monitoring: Regular follow-ups are essential to track the progress of treatment. Dr. Aditi monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed therapies and adjusts the treatment as needed. Patients are encouraged to report any side effects or changes in their symptoms to ensure optimal care.
Long-term Care and Maintenance: Once the symptoms are under control, the focus shifts to maintaining hormonal balance and menstrual health. This stage may involve continued medication or preventive measures to avoid recurrence of menstrual problems.
What Does Dr. Aditi Godbole Suggest for Precautions for Menstrual Treatment in Thane?
Dr. Aditi Godbole emphasizes several precautions for patients undergoing Menstrual treatment in Thane to ensure the treatment is effective and that any risks are minimized:
Regular Follow-ups: It is crucial to attend all follow-up appointments to track the progress of your treatment. This helps in detecting any issues early and adjusting the treatment plan if necessary.
Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Dr. Aditi recommends a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and stress management techniques to support overall health and regulate hormones. A healthy lifestyle enhances the effects of menstrual treatments and reduces the likelihood of recurrence.
Avoid Self-Medication: Never self-medicate, as it may interfere with the prescribed treatments or worsen the condition. Always consult Dr. Aditi before taking any medications or supplements.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking enough water is important for hormone regulation and general health. Proper hydration can also help alleviate menstrual cramps and other symptoms.
Track Your Menstrual Cycle: Keeping a menstrual diary or using a cycle-tracking app can help Dr. Aditi monitor your progress and make necessary adjustments to your treatment.

Visual impairment and Menstruation
The stigma around menstruation continues to make it a hushed topic and if you are a visually impaired person it might be difficult if you are not taught about it properly.
How do you know if you got your period?
The simple answer to this is: You just know.
Any person, sighted or not, can identify the signs that lead up to their period. Cramps, acne, cravings, sensitive breasts, etc. Are some of the physical signs that help us in knowing that our periods are around the corner.
How do you identify period blood from other discharges?
By using other senses like smell or taste. Period blood has a metallic smell and taste due to the presence of iron in blood. White discharge has a salty smell and taste. There is nothing awkward or embarrassing about it since it's not excretion but just blood from the lining of the uterus.
How can one help prepare their loved one with visual impairment for periods?
In reality, explaining about periods to a visually impaired person is the same as explaining it to a sighted person. You might require a little patience and knowledge to guide them. Give them options with respect to the menstrual products so that they choose the one that suits them best. Information about periods is also available in Braille which can be provided. Help and guide the person to be more independent and choose what they want. Using pills is another alternative.
What is helpful?
Tracking your periods especially if your periods are regular is helpful to know when your periods are approaching next month.
It is essential to be educated and be aware of the option one has to deal with it better.
It is important that period and discussion around it normalized so that no person feels embarrassed about periods or staining.
Having a period kit in case one gets their period is also helpful.
Hoping for a less painful menstruation,
Gayathri, intern @lemmebegirls

people who experience menstruation never compare their period pain and go like "nah mine is worse than you, mine stays longer and my cramps and mood swings are worse than anyone's", like no. they know you are struggling with that time of the month and suddenly everyone is a mom and that's fucking beautiful.
