I think LGBTQIA+ people need to post on Facebook more, not less. You can not protest something by giving them exactly what they want. Meta wants us off of the platform, because when we leave those platforms, then we lose our voice on those platforms.

I understand the idea of voting with our wallets, but facebook does not get paid by us. They get paid by advertisers, and their extreme right wing advertisers love that they get to share their propaganda unopposed on Facebook.

The users are the product, that Facebooks advertisers are buying access too. If you want to hurt Meta then we need to influence their user base to make them less susceptible to right wing propagandists. This makes facebooks product (the userbase) less desirable to their current customers (right wing advertisers).

There's been at least one schism in the Faith there's no way there hasn't. Christianity can't go five minutes without breaking out into civil war over some unimportant doctrinal issue why should Fantasy Catholicism be any different. And then bam another split. Arguments over who can be canonized as a saint and more arguments over if they can intercede or if intercession is a form of idol worship. By the time Tywins in charge he's can't even appeal to the faith as a whole when he's trying to consolidate power he has to do olympic level gymnastics to satiate the thirteen different sects who all hate each other.

(btw 'refusing to vote for Clinton is how Trump got in' no it literally is not. please remember that Trump lost the popular vote anyway and only got in because your country has a weird fucked up system where states are allowed to ignore how their constituents vote.)

(Refusing to vote New Labour after the Iraq War is how the Tories got in over here. Kinda. because what actually happened was we had the first hung parliament since 1979, and then the Lib Dems sold the country up the river for some minor concessions. and then Labour spent the next 10 years actively kneecapping itself by painting its own leadership as a bigger threat than the Tories, and when they had a leftist leading them they still brought the Tories to a hung parliament again in 2017.)

(anyway the point is you all seem to have a majorly inflated sense of how much democracy is involved in elections. Ultimately in cases where the race is close-run it is not the electorate that decide, it's like 100 people in positions of high power, be it the electoral college, the party leadership, or otherwise.)

(none of which is to say your vote is useless. your vote is valuable to politicians. there's a limit to how much they can get away with ignoring the public. but. because your vote is valuable, it's only useful as leverage if there's a possibility you might not give them it. and let's be clear, people WILL change direction if they're worried about losing votes. but unless you're offering them massive funding, then the only reason your opinion would carry any weight is if there's a possibility of your vote being withheld. if you stand up and say VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO YOU'VE GOT MY VOTE WHATEVER HAPPENS then like. You might as well just say 'ignore me, pay attention to those guys who might not vote for you'.)

if the centre and the left's votes are vocally assured regardless of the party's policy or stance, then the party will move right. bc they've already got you, so it's time to court the undecideds. YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT NECESSARY TO A POLITICIAN'S SUCCESS TO LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WANT. they don't care. you have to use what little leverage you have, your vote, to make them care. it's the only form of accountability we can bring about that doesn't involve, like, storming the winter palace 🤷‍♀️

i put up the rest of my homemade stickers today and i wanted to make a quick post about how i made them because it's entirely possible some of you already have all the materials laying around at home or could buy them at the post office without having to find a place that will print stickers for you.

i used:

sharpies (any permanent marker obviously works here)

blank stick-on mailing labels

clear masking tape (for waterproofing)

i just wrote my messages on the mailing labels and tore off a piece of tape around the size of the label to cover it with. it doesn't have to align perfectly, you just want to make sure it covers all your writing so they don't smudge and it's not so oversized that it ends up taping the sticker to the sheet.

once you have your stickers finished you have them still on the sheet and you can peel them off and stick them wherever you want! this makes them a lot more portable and faster to apply than if you were to be putting up flyers, so if you're disabled like me it's a lot easier to cover more ground when putting them up. if you are someone who is out and about during the day, you could prepare a sheet and keep it in your bag and pull them out to stick them up different places while you go about your day!

Oh look. It took damage after being shot at BY CARTA'S ENTIRE FLEET. And before anyone quibbles, this is several frames before Tekkadan blow it to bits to blanket the area in chaff, and after it served its purpose of shielding the Isaribi. A tactic that is itself clearly depicted as necessary for making a head-on charge at a superior force work.

It's almost like the folks making the show made a decision about how tough they were going to depict their spaceships as being and stuck to it. Up to and including a line about 'anti-ship napalm', implying that is a thing and therefore people have invented quicker means of fighting spaceships coated in the magic resisto-armour but it can only be used in close proximity. Gee whiz.
