World Coconut Day
Discover the tropical taste and versatility of this round, hairy fruit with a hard shell. From coconut water to oil, there's so much to love about them!
A popular fruit consumed around the world, the coconut is healthy and tasty, and it grows in tropical regions. World Coconut Day celebrates everything that has to do with this delicious and nutritious fruit!
History of World Coconut Day
Coconuts are a food that humans have found sustenance in for at least 2,000 years. Probably native to Indonesia, the name coconut translates to “walnut from India”. While coconuts would have traveled throughout the Indian subcontinent and even to Africa in the early years, they didn’t make it to Europe until some time around the 16th century.
It is likely that coconuts were introduced to Europeans through the Maritime Silk Road, which connected the East with the West. Marco Polo may have been one of the many travelers and explorers who would have brought coconuts back with them.
When the Asia Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) was founded in 1969, it was created in an attempt to help support and promote the tropical countries that are high in growing, producing, selling and exporting coconuts. Located in Jakarta, Indonesia, this group stays connected with the production and export of coconuts. Sharing scientific expertise and coordinating activities within the industry, the members of the APCC are responsible for the growth of more than 90% of the coconuts produced and sold all over the globe.
Founded in 2009, World Coconut Day was started by the Asia and Pacific Coconut Community to promote the activities of coconut growers while raising awareness about the fruit for those outside of the growing community.
The celebration of World Coconut Day offers plenty of opportunities for this important product of the Asia-Pacific region to enter into the forefront of conversation of people around the world!

Started by the Asia-Pacific Coconut Community, World Coconut Day aims to raise awareness and bring harmony to the growth and distribution of coconuts.
How to Celebrate World Coconut Day
Getting involved with World Coconut Day is easy – all it takes is tasting and enjoying this delicious fruit. Consider some of these ideas to celebrate the day:
Enjoy Eating a Coconut
Some people who haven’t grown up around this delicious fruit might be intimidated by its brown, hairy shell. But once it is broken into and the creamy white flesh is exposed, it is a fragrant delight to behold.
First, start by poking a hole in the coconut at the end near the ‘eye’, where the shell is the thinnest. Use a screwdriver or hammer with a clean nail to make the hole. This will allow for the water of the coconut to be drained.
Pro Tip: Strain the coconut water through a cheesecloth and into a cup, and then drink it up!
Once the juice has been drained out of the coconut, one of the easiest ways to break open the fruit is by using a handsaw to cut it in half. Other people might want to simply put it into a sturdy bag and bang it against a stone or concrete until it breaks. This method is a bit messy, but it works.
Once the coconut is open, remove the meat from the shell and enjoy eating it fresh!
Cook or Bake with Coconut
One way to enjoy National Coconut Day without having to go to the trouble of cracking open the fruit is by purchasing the coconut in bags that are shredded or chipped. These are often pre-sweetened and ready to be used in recipes. Since the fruit is a tropical one, and the day falls at the end of the summer, many recipes are cool and refreshing.
Consider cooking or baking with some of these recipe ideas to celebrate the day:
Coconut Cream Pie. This classic pie contains coconut flakes or chips, coconut milk, heavy cream and eggs, and is topped with mounds of sweet whipped cream.
Coconut Ice Cream. This refreshing dessert is so simple, all it needs is 6 ingredients: whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, milk, salt and, of course, shredded coconut.
Coconut Milk Pudding. This delicious recipe is similar to the consistency of flan, but is made with coconut milk, gelatin, mango, butter, grated coconut, condensed milk and other simple ingredients.
Coconut Rice Pudding. A special blend of coconut milk and rice, this dessert is delicious when served with a homemade rhubarb compote or jam. The coconut and rhubarb flavors just meld together on the tongue!
Drink a Piña Colada
A classic tropical drink, the piña colada contains delicious ingredients like pineapple juice, coconut cream, rum, lime juice and ice, all blended together into a delicious frozen beverage. Throw the ingredients in a blender at home and mix it up. Garnish with a drink umbrella and skewer with red cherries for a vibrant presentation.
Try Out Some Coconut Water
A fairly new product on the market, bottled coconut water can be found in many places around the world now. Coconut water is actually the juice or liquid that comes from young coconut plants. Some brands of coconut water that might be worth trying out in celebration of National Coconut Day include Vita Coco, ZICO, Naked Coconut Water, and C2O.
Listen to Some Coconut Themed Music
One fun way to enjoy National Coconut Day is to enjoy a few songs that were written around the theme of coconuts. Try out some of these ideas to get started making a tropical playlist just for this day:
Coconut by Harry Nillson (1971). Probably the most famous song about coconuts, the lyrics are “put de lime in de coconut and drink ‘em both togedder”.
Cocoanut Woman by Harry Belafonte (1957). Released on his album called “Belafante sings of the Caribbean”, this song is about a lady on the island who is selling coconut water.
Coconut Telegraph by Jimmy Buffet (1981). Appearing as the title song on the album of the same name, this song speaks of a Tuesday on the island when information and gossip is exchanged.
I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts by Merv Griffin (1950). With lyrics that make a story out of a coconut toss at a fair, this song is a silly and playful classic from a bygone era.

One of our most unique recipes is a must-try! Nutritional yeast does wonders, turning simple flavors into extraordinary ones like cashew-based vegan mascarpone cheese. No-bake cashew-oatmeal crust with fresh figs on top.

Monaco lover - d.ricciardo
Tumblr media
masterlist
requested: n
pairings: Daniel ricciardo x fem!reader
summary: with Daniel not racing, he begins to find new hobbies with his wife.
warnings: established relationships + fluff
a/n: only right I post for daniels bday!!
the basket in his hand is beginning to get heavier by the second, as you keep adding fresh fruits and vegetables from the little local farmers market.
you’re more than hours away from the loud music, busy streets, and the infamous Monaco circuit. your new home is a perfect escape from the city of formula 1.
it was Daniels decision to move away from the big lights and party animals after he no longer had a seat on the 2023 grid. he wanted a reset on life, and there was no perfect way to do it than far away from the cameras.
“you think we have enough to feed everyone?” you look at the overgrowing basket in his arms. leaves of lettuce and kale are hanging out brushing against his thighs as you walk up and down the slow streets.
“more than enough.” he assured you with a chuckle. it’s been weird to have Daniel home so often. you don’t hate it, formula 1 once took the man you loved and wore him down into a shell of himself. now away from the McLaren and happily in a reserve seat for Red Bull, you can begin to see that smile brighten everyday.
“well then let’s go home and wash everything, I’m starving.” you loop your arm through his and let him lead the way to your car, one he knows he won’t get caught or stopped in.
it’s not hard to be recognized, he’s had neighbors stop him while mowing the lawn or gardening with you, but they mostly respect your space unlike the people of Monte Carlo, where the flashing of cameras never stop.
“what are you going to eat first? those strawberries looked really tasty.” he sets the basket in the back seat, before opening your passenger door planting a sweet kiss to your lips.
“I was thinking about those peaches, but now that you say the strawberries, I might have to join you on that.”
“not if I finish them first.”
you can’t tell if he’s bored or if he genuinely enjoys cutting the grass, gardening, and the small town farmers markets. you know there’s a certain thrill he’s missing, and maybe he does all these things to occupy his mind of the itch to get back.
but right now, he’s deep into a conversation with your neighbors about the lawn and your backyard garden. he’s showing them the vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers he’s planted like they are his children.
it’s weird to you, to see him this way, because all you ever knew was Daniel ricciardo, the racer of fast cars. now he’s the friendly helpful neighborhood hand.
“so you and the misuses are going away next week? where to?” you watch Daniel mock the man’s stance, hands on his hips nodding along as they walk to the backyard.
“just Miami, we shouldn’t be gone for too long.”
“Miami? what are you doing down there?” he asks, quizzical look taking his face. the perks of being away from the chaos of Monte Carlo, meant not everyone in this little small town knew Daniel. and that included your elder neighbors who loved you both dearly.
“just some work stuff, nothing crazy.”
“I thought you were unemployed?”
Daniel laughs, you can hear it from where you sit on the couch, “it’s a lot more complicated than unemployed.” and it truly was, while Daniel was bringing home the big bucks from not driving for mclaren, he anxiously awaits an opportunity for a Red Bull seat this season. some say unemployed delusions, Daniel calls it optimism.
he shakes his head, “you kids these days, you keep me on my toes.” he pats Daniels shoulder, “make sure you two come over later for dessert, okay?”
“oh we wouldn’t miss it.” Daniel waves him off before going inside to find you still wrapped up in the blankets, but this time wide awake with a smile.
“you have fun with your friend?” you sit upright crawling onto your knees to meet him for a kiss. he just laughs wrapping his arms around your neck and pressing s kiss to those lovely lips he calls home.
“I hope when I’m older I turn out to be just like him. tan, happy, and always making dessert.” he laughs a little hoping his future turns out like that. he’s already got the most perfect wife, and soon enough he’ll have the most perfect little family.
“he does make some stellar desserts. his wife is lucky, I wonder when my husband will start making me desserts.” you joke recalling when Daniel attempted to make boxed brownies, and somehow burnt them to a cracker.
“I’ll just stick with growing you fresh fruit and veggies, how about that?”
“I’ll take it.”

✍🏽 Writing Update
Okay, I teased this a few weeks back, and now that we've come to the end of Wake Me Up, I feel like it's a good time to announce this for real...
The sequel one-shot to the Smoke Eater series (Firefighter!Dean Winchester x F. Reader) is coming on May 29! ❤️‍🔥
Banner below was created by the awesome @heavenssexiestangel! (Thank you again, friend!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Firefighter!Dean W. x F. Reader
Summary: Now that you and Dean are officially engaged, you take some much needed time off together for a family vacation. But even with the wedding set for next year, the two of you are still at odds when it comes to one key part of your future together…
👀 Sneak Peek:
You went over to look out the window and held your hands on your hips. It was nighttime, but the streets of Miami were well-lit beyond the pool, and there was something beautiful about a bustling city at night.
“Now this is an adult vacation,” you said.
At that, Dean smiled and walked around the bed to you. He slipped his arms around your waist and held you from behind. You held him right back.
“Damn right it is,” he said. “What do you wanna do first? Dinner, and then check out some nightlife, or skip right to dessert?”
You smiled at the way his voice lowered with thinly veiled suggestiveness.
“Well, I know how much you love dessert,” you said slyly.
Dean's smile deepened into a smirk.
“Yeah, that may be,” he said. “But don’t pretend you don’t love some hot lemon drizzle.”

Green Devil with Nico Hischier
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m feeling a lil angsty Nico RN. Like I love fluff, but I wanted a little bit of sass from him.
This is part of What My World Spins Around AU. Catch the rest on my masterlist here.
Word Count: 1.4k
Warning: Swearing, jealousy, lil angsty, hinting at smut cause it’s me.
Tonight, I’m living.
Someone bought my coffee in line at the drive thru this morning. Nico is home, and my best friend from high school, Connor, is in town for work. I’ve been dying for Nico and Connor to meet since we started dating, but the timing never seemed to work until Connor texted me last week that he had some time on his next trip. Once I saw Nico was in town, I jumped at the offer.
“I’m really excited for you to meet Connor!” I bubble to Nico as we walk down the sidewalk towards a trendy, Tapas bar.
“Me too.” Nico responds as he wraps an arm around my shoulder. I shiver, clutching his side to try and suck some of the warmth from his body. “Remember I need to leave by 9 though. If you want to stay later, that’s cool with me.” He grasps the handle of the door, opening it for me to walk in. He gives my ass a discreet slap as I go in front of him. I toss a suggestive look over my shoulder that he receives while biting his lip.
If I wasn’t so caught up in myself, I would have taken note of the immediate change in Nico when Connor and I rush to embrace each other. Connor wraps me in a tight hug that causes me to miss the irked expression on Nico’s face about how close his hands are to my ass.
“You look incredible.” Connor smiles widely, taking me in from head to toe. I pose for a second as a joke while he keeps his hands on my hips.
“Find a NHL captain and you too can be this happy.” I turn to Nico who has pasted a polite smile on his face that doesn’t quiet meet his eyes.  “Babe, this is Connor. Connor, Nico.”
“Hey man, nice to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you.” Nico extends a hand. They shake firmly. Connor breaks first.
“You too, man.” Connor juts his chin out in acknowledgment at Nico, then crosses his arms over his chest. “They’re just getting our table cleaned.”
“Oh, okay.” I nod. “So tell me all about Miami. I am dying to hear about your new condo.”
“Unreal views. You should come down next month. We can have a fun weekend together. Get wasted on expensive tequila like Cabo.”
“Oh my god, no.” I hide my face.
“She legally cannot step foot in that resort again.” Connor says to Nico, snickering.
“Long story.” I shake my head, red tinging my cheeks. I’ve never told Nico about it because it’s still so cringy and embarrassing. Connor motions like he’s spewing vomiting. I slap his bicep to give him a warning. “Stop. Seriously.”
Luckily, the host is ready to show us to our table. We spend the rest of the night chatting. Connor and I reminisce about our old high school friends we have lost touch with. We stalk their Facebook pages and Instagrams, laughing at how the more things change the more they stay the same in our hometown. Nico is quiet, but that’s normal with people he doesn’t know well. He seems to be content with fading into the background. At least I thought so.
“I think I’m going to head out.” Nico begins to put his jacket on as Connor and I look over the dessert drink menu. I turn to him, surprised. I check my Apple Watch, seeing it’s barely 8pm.
“Oh okay. Are you okay?” I ask, lowering my voice while I examining him for signs of distress. He seems fine. Maybe he’s just tired?
“Yep. Have a good night, baby.” He barely presses his lips to mine before he pulls away, leaving me with unsatisfied, puckered lips. He tells Connor it was great meeting him as he tosses a few hundred dollar bills on the table for the bill. When his body moves from beneath my fingers, I feel an uneasy chill from his absence. Something doesn’t feel right about this. Connor doesn’t notice and dives back into his persistence of me coming to visit him in Miami next month.
“Um…” I cut him off. “Sorry. I’ll be right back.” I say abruptly, grabbing my coat and purse before rushing to the front of the restaurant. The cold air blasts me, stealing my breath as I look to the left where Nico is about to turn into the parking lot.
“Nico.” I call after him, hustling to catch up with his long strides. “What is up with you?” I ask him breathlessly, reaching for his hand and pulling him to a stop. “And what was that kiss?” I wrinkle my nose in displeasure.
“I’m just tired. It’s been a long week.” His shoulders are rolled inwards as he talks to me, grimacing against the cold wind whipping down at us. I sigh, not liking the way he looks above my head.
“Neeks, you seem upset with me.”
“I’m not.” He shrugs, licking his lips and continuing to avoid eye contact. I cross my arms at his chilly attitude. A realization comes over me at the slight scowl on his face.
“Are you… jealous?” I ask with a small smile.
“No, just… have fun with your friend.” He scoffs, shoving his hands in his pockets. He looks away from me and down the street. I can see his jaw tense as he grits his teeth.
“Wow….” I trail off with a breezy laugh. I step closer, biting my bottom lip. “You look pretty green for red being your team’s color.” I set my hands on his hips, wrapping my arms around his back. I secure myself to him tightly, resting my chin on his chest so I’m looking up at his face. “Babe, look at me.” I soften my voice so he knows I’m done teasing. He licks his lips exasperatedly, then turns his sour, scrunched face to me. I raise my eyebrows, signaling I’m waiting.
“Fuck yeah I’m jealous.” He finally scoffs out. At least he wraps his hands around me, pushing me tighter to him.
“Why?” I can’t even begin to fathom why he feels that way. He’s the sweetest, handsomest, dreamiest man I have ever laid eyes on.
“I feel like he knows you better than me. And I hate that.” I snort, leaning forward to press my forehead to his chest. Nico silently watches me when I pull back.
“Every one of those jokes and stories are from before you.” I pause, waiting for him to soften. When he doesn’t, I continue. “He knows nothing about me anymore. You’re my life now. Not high school football games and Applebee’s late night happy hour.”
“But Miami?” He rolls his eyes.
“I won’t go. It’s obviously bothering you, so it’s not worth it. You’re my priority.”
We stare at each other until Nico finally sighs, looking away at the busy street behind me. I get closer, onto my tip toes, then tenderly pressing my lips on his throat. People pass around us, the world continuing on as we hold each other. I work my mouth up to the nook of his shoulder and neck. I open my mouth a little more, sucking his skin into my mouth. His shoulders relax, head meeting mine as his hands grip my back tighter. I pull away just before I mark him, pressing my nose to the wet spot. I run my hand across his shoulder to the back of his neck and cradle his head. A heavy exhale from him ends our hug.
“Okay.”
“Will you come back with me?”
“No, but you should stay. For real. Spend time with him… then come home to me.” His eyes darken with hunger as he brushes my hair behind my ear, holding my cheek. I watch as he closes his eyes, then leans down to capture our lips together. This is the kiss I needed from him earlier. He sucks my bottom lip into his mouth, running his tongue along the plumped skin. I’m intoxicated when we pull apart. I stare at the lapels of his jacket.
“Maybe… I wanna come home now.” He smirks at me as I pull my phone out and text Connor a quick lie. “I’m suddenly soooo sick.” Nico leans his head back to laugh towards the sky.
“Let’s go needy girl.”

“Mike, I'll be with Armando today.” Detective Mike Lowrey married this great person named Christine, a physical therapist. She also helped Mike heal through the shooting recovery years back.
“All right, babe. See y'all later.” Mike kissed Christine's cheek and walked out, heading to the Miami Police Department.
Armando planned his day off for the first time in quite a while after joining Miami's AMMO squad.
“I'll drive. Got everything?” Armando stands from the living room couch and headed to the car this morning.
“Yes, thank you.” Christine grinned from the passenger seat, leaving for another day.
_______
Today involved simple errands, especially when everyone pulled different hours for their careers
Driving in silence to the grocery store, Armando offered to push this cart.
“Aw.” Every so often, Christine noticed that some children would make eye contact with Aretas, mainly smiling toward his permanent frown.
“What's up?” Armando questioned Christine, still needing to shop.
“Children in the store keep noticing that you're very grouchy.” Christine laughed.
“I'm not mad or anything, just focused.” Armando continued adding essentials.
“Smile sometimes. It won't hurt you.” Christine gently offered advice while heading to the cash register.
______
“Mommy, he's sad.” Another child noticed Armando in line.
“I'm so sorry if my child is bothering you, Sir.” The parent greeted Aretas.
“Oh, no. It's okay.” Armando revealed slightly accented English while addressing the stranger.
“What's wrong?” The child glanced toward Armando. Christine also watched.
“I'm busy here.” Aretas responded quickly.
“Get some ice cream!” The child beamed in return. “You'll feel better.”
“Maybe. Bye.” Armando leaves the store with Christine and faces Miami sunlight.
_______
“Ice cream, really?” Mike came back home later that day for once.
Christine and Armando enjoyed dessert in the kitchen and genuinely laughed together, ignoring Mike.
The world didn't feel so bleak after all.

Jack Harlow x Reader : Resting Or Baking?
Tumblr media
Every year since you and Jack got together, you would be the ones to host for the holidays. Either back in your hometown, in your first apartment together in Atlanta, back in Miami, to now in your house in Louisville Kentucky.
You would always help out your mother in law, Maggie, with the cooking and setting up, but this year is different. Being as you're pregnant with your second child, your husband requested, no, demanded that you don't do any heavy lifting this year.
He wanted you to be as relaxed as possible, and to sleep in with him since he had just gotten home from doing Jingle-Ball and other media work. But he knows you, and he knows you couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. He knows you wouldn’t leave everything for his mom and your best friend to do.
So it’s no surprise when he walks into the kitchen to find you and your daughter baking up a storm.
“Now what did I say? No cooking this year.” Your husband says standing looking at you with raised eyebrows and his hands on his waist.
You smile, “Technically I’m not cooking.” you dab the batter with your finger to taste “I’m baking.”
He rolls his eyes “Potato, potatoes, same thing to me babe.”
“Mia wanted to bake that cake I made for her birthday, and I found this new recipe that I’m sure will be a hit with everyone.” You tell him.
“Oh so this is your doing Mia?” Jack looks at your daughter and she looks confused. “I thought we had a deal, mommy had to rest today.”
Mia nods “Yes but we wanted cake. Nino Urby loves this cake so we makes it for hims and Nina too.”
You smile and wink at her “Plus we’re almost done, just have to put this in the oven and that’s it.”
He nods “That’s it, no more working tonight ok. We just have to head to moms, eat and open presents, that’s all you’re doing tonight.”
He heads to the refrigerator to get something to drink but he whips his head so fast to look at you “You made 3 of those already?”
You shrug “Those had to be done early, so the cake can absorb all the milks. It had to sit there for four to five hours max.”
Jack groans “I know you love helping and making all these foods and desserts, but baby I wouldn’t be on your ass if the doctor didn’t say you had to have bed rest.”
“Daddy said a naughty word.” Mia chimes in from her spot.
Jacks groans “I’ll pay up in a little Princess, I’m just trying to get my point across to your stubborn momma.”
You nod and smile, “Let’s be honest, you wouldn’t have let me do a thing even if the doctor didn’t say anything. But I promise I’m good. Mia helped a lot.”
“Okay so what’s next? I know that the batch you just put into the oven will have to have some kind of toppings. So tell me and I’ll help.”
“You know me so well. It needs to cool down and then cut them into squares, and place lechera and fruit on top.”
He nods “I’ll do that, meanwhile why don’t you and Mia sit down and try doing that gingerbread house.”
Mia gasps, “Oh my gingerbread house, yes please momma can we makes it?”
“Yes bug, go take it to the table while I tell daddy how to decorate the treats.”
You watch Mia run to the table and start opening the box. You turn to face your husband, “I know you’re worried but I promise I’m fine.”
You grab his hand and place it on your belly, “We’re both fine.”
“I know you are, but I rather you just sit back and relax. You’ve been up and down non stop and I know I’ve been away, and it’s not easy with a toddler, a toddler who’s on her terrible twos.”
“You’ve been working so it’s totally understandable bubs. But I promise after Christmas I’ll try, key word, try to relax.”
He shakes his head, “You have no choice mama, I’m taking some time off and I’ll be here helping with the little princess over there. Plus the little guy is ready to come out, I need to be here and on time whenever he does come.”
You nod and try to reach his lips for a kiss, but because of your belly you can’t. “Come down here.” you tell him pouting.
That has Jack chuckling but does as you ask and gives you a kiss.
“Ughh, this not working guys.”
You both turn around to see your daughter struggling with her gingerbread house.
She goes to stick two pieces together, which stay on “YAAAY, I dids it.” But as soon as she says that, the pieces fall off. “Ughh you dumb butt.”
“Alize Mia Harlow.” Jack warns.
She looks up at him “Huh?”
“You said a naughty word.”
She furrows her eyebrows, “But tio Clay-Clay says it’s not really a naughty word.”
“Well I guess I have to have a quick talk with your uncle. But that is a naughty word, so you know the deal.”
She rolls her eyes, “Fine and I sorry.” She gets up from the table and makes her way to the living room but comes back just as quick and hands Jack a dollar.
“Thank you, no more naughty words young lady.”
Whenever an adult is around her and they say a bad word, they have to put a dollar in her swear jar. But whenever Mia is caught saying one, she needs to pay Jack a dollar from her swear jar.
Granted, she hardly even says bad words but when she does it’s usually when she can’t get her way. She’s stubborn and has no patience, just like her mother.
“Hey.” Jack says to break you out from your thoughts.
“Hmm, yes?”
“I have one of your presents that I need you to open.”
“Bubs, why not until later when we’re with everyone.”
“I can’t hide it, it came at the last minute.”
You nod “Okay.”
He grabs Mia, and he leads you towards the entrance of the house.
“Babe, why are we going outside?”
“You’ll see.”
When you go outside, you’re met with your brother in law and see a huge box in the middle of the driveway.
You turn to look at your husband. “Jackman, am I about to cry?”
He shrugs. “You know how you said you’ve always wanted to be a mom and have lots of kids?”
You nod, “Six kids, three boys and three girls.”
“But you also said you didn’t want to be driving a minivan. Because you claim you won’t look hot, which I questioned because the only person you have to worry about looking hot for is me, and you’re always looking sexy.”
“Just get to the point Jack, I’m hungry.” Clay interrupts him.
“Remind me why I asked you for help and not Urban or mom.?” Jack says glaring at his brother.
“Anyways, go open your gift mamas.”
You smile and go to pull at the big red ribbon, at the pull the entire box starts opening up and there in the middle is your brand new car.
You cry happy tears and go up to your husband to hug him “Thank you mi amor. I love you.” You give him a few pecks.
“Ewww no kissing.” Mia says, pretending to gag.
You, Jack and Clay laugh. “So what did you end up cooking?” Clay asks.
You both turn to look at him in confusion. “What? Mom said there was no way you’d sit down and do nothing. So what did you make?”
You smile “Dessert.”
“Is it ready?”
You nod “Half of it, yeah.”
That has him running to the house.
“CLAYBORN IF YOU TOUCH THEM I WILL BEAT YOUR ASS.” Jack yells.
“Daddy.” Mia says smiling.
“I know, but go make sure your uncle doesn’t eat the cakes you and mama made.”
Mia gasps and runs inside the house “TIO NO TOQUES, DON’T EAT MY CAKES.”
Jack is now staring at you “Why are you crying?”
You shrug “I’m just so happy, I’m blessed to have you in my life. I’m not talking about the gifts, that’s a bonus.” You joke.
“I’m talking about the love we have for each other, our daughter and this little one who’s most likely to get here soon. You make me the happiest woman alive. I love you and our life together.”
He pulls you in, “Y/N, none of this would be possible if it weren’t for you. You’re the glue of our little family. You, not me, you, because when I’m away, you’re here with our daughter giving her the childhood she deserves. You love me and you show it to me every single day. I wouldn’t be the man I am today, or the father that I am, if it weren’t for you. You make this so worth it and I’m forever grateful that you’re my wife and the mother of our children.”
He kisses you, “You’re my greatest gift.”
You two stay outside for a little more just kissing each other and telling each other how much you love one another.
“Mommy, daddy, tio Clay-Clay dropped something.”
You pull back “Let’s go check on your brother and my pastelitos.”
“If he dropped or ate any of them I’m fighting him, I love your desserts.”
“I know there’s a second meaning to that in there. But yes, I’ll let you fight him.”
“Momma hurry, he’s making a mess with my gingerbread house.”
You and Jack laugh and head inside to the kitchen. Luckily none of the cakes were touched or harmed. You couldn’t say the same for Mia’s gingerbread house though.
That’s how you spend your evening, helping your daughter build her gingerbread house until it was time to head to your in-laws house to spend Christmas night.
