That's how he used to look at mihawk after all. He remember the pain he felt as he loved the man who became the greatest swordsman. He remembered their argument. Then he saw how Zoro looked at Sanji and his pain got caught in his throat. Zoro loved Sanji just as much. He knew from Luffy that the swordsman was ambitious and selfish. So why did he look ready to give up everything for the blonde. Before he could stop himself he walked over. Purpose with every step. Legs heavy with old heartbreak. And as the words that he had spoken all those years ago came out his mouth he looked at Zoro dead in the eye.

"Would you give up your love to be the strongest"

Zoro froze his drinking, slowly sitting up and putting down his mug. Wipping his mouth with the back of his mouth as he looked at the red-haired man. His gaze was relaxed and a little too knowing for Shanks liking.

"Why would I give up my strength to become stronger?"

Mihawk froze, looking up at the redhead. His eyes were so cold it almost felt like Shanks was at the edge of his sword. He always felt like this. Always a swords length away from the man no matter how close he held him.

brewing a mihawk/shanks/buggy fic idea in my mind where theyre stupidly inlove w each other but theyre too dumb to open to each other on how insecure they feel.

Buggy has inferiority complex and thinks hes just there in the relationship as a side piece. He thinks someday Shanks and Mihawk will realize they’re better off w/o him. They’re two of the most powerful men in the seas, incredibly handsome too, and Buggy’s just. Buggy. Weak and cowardly, weird and ugly. So whenever he sees Shanks and Mihawk particularly spending more time together, he mentally prepares himself for the day they leave him (he plans to leave out of the relationship first so it will hurt less).

Buggy of course will never admit his insecurities, and he fears if he opens the topic, the two will break up with him much earlier. So he just tries to make the most out of their relationship while it lasts and anxiously wait for the inevitable ending.

Mihawk, on the other hand, feels out of place in the relationship bc Shanks and Buggy shared a much deeper and stronger bond way back in their childhood that his history with both men could never compare. He thinks his aloof and introverted personality will someday bore them, that they will see there is not much to Mihawk than they first thought. Sometimes he overthinks if Shanks only loves him bc he was the nearest person to have filled in Buggy’s place in his heart after the two separated, or if Buggy is even interested in him, who’s a complete polar opposite to his personality. Moreover, his guilt over beating up Buggy at the start of the Cross Guild washes over him every now and then, and he thinks it will become a factor someday when the two decide to break up with him.

Mihawk doesn’t open up these thoughts bc he doesn’t think they’re worth opening up. He’s a lonewolf all his life, but he couldn’t get used to the disconnection he feels despite having two partners.

Shanks has abandonment issues fr. He’s afraid that all those decades spent apart from Buggy has estranged their relationship forever. He’s scared of a future where the two will break up with him - that Buggy will abandon him again, having found a perfect partner (Mihawk) who he knows will treat him better than Shanks ever did and could ever do. He worries about being the most mentally unstable out of them all, that his depressive alcoholic episodes and loudness will turn off Mihawk for good, or that he’ll unknowingly do something that will cause a second downfall in his relationship with Buggy again.

Shanks will never open up about his insecurities bc he thinks it will sour the happiness they currently have in the relationship. He’d rather shoulder everything and keep up a facade than have the two abandon him.

Even though they’re happy to be together officially and they love each other, there is still some tension due to them not very good at opening up. Buggy’s too into denial and evades sensitive topics at all costs, Mihawk is too private and socially inept, Shanks is the type to suppress and put up a facade for the sake of keeping peace in their relationship.

In short, theyre a fuckibng mess

Notes* Glad to have you! Thanks for the request :) Out of anyone, I think these three would be the most accepting/understanding of someone with this style and even indulge in it a bit themselves so I tried to make this a little more personal to each character. That being said, I feel like they turned out a little shorter than normal, but I hope you still enjoy it!

Kid

He wouldn’t even bat an eye if this was a regular thing to be dressed in gothic style. It’s pretty common around the crew, and even if it wasn’t, Kid appreciates the aesthetic of the style

He also just doesn’t give a shit what you wear as long as you can do your job

Looking good while doing it is also a plus

For that reason, he would help you out with your makeup for sure. Not that he has much experience with it in the first place, but he just likes any excuse to look at your lips

On the other hand, if your weren’t introduced to him in black and chains, he wouldn’t recognize you if you just up and changed your wardrobe

You walk out of your room in your new style, the one you’ve been wanting to try for years and never had the bravery to out of fear of judgement

But after joining the Kid Pirates, it didn’t feel so scary to go outside of the world’s expectations

“Who the fuck are you!? How’d you get on my ship!?”

After managing to convince him not to just throw you overboard, he does the unthinkable

“Oh. You look good. Better than that boring shit you used to wear.”

He compliments you

Kid will pick at your outfits and give unsolicited advice on how to coordinate or style your clothing

He isn’t one for making jewelry, but he might try if you can’t find anything that would match your clothes

No comment from him. You’d have to outright ask him what he thought, and even then it would be a short answer

“Yes, it’s a good look on you.”

He isn’t actually looking at you when he answers, but it’s genuine

You’d find him staring at you quite often, though

He enjoys the style on you, especially since his style is very close/similar to gothic

He respects your backbone for sticking to what makes you happy, and he’ll encourage you to stick up for yourself if anyone has anything to say about your look

Honestly, he’s seen people look and dress a lot worse, so he doesn’t see why anyone should be making unnecessary comments

Despite being a man of few words, he would still compliment your outfits every time

He, having a eye for the fashion, would also help you coordinate and mix up your clothing items and accessories to freshen up the looks

“That won’t do. We need to get you some earrings that will match this.”

It’s such a sweet way to spend the time that you two have together

Law

Law gets whiplash at first

His emo phase is coming back to him all at once and he’s cringing internally

But despite his own emotional setbacks, he is happy if you feel comfortable dressing this way

He’s very level-headed, so there’s not going to be a very big reaction out of him right away

His perception of you hasn’t changed, and it won’t anytime soon

“Express yourself however you like, just make sure you don’t alter the uniform too much.”

He’ll warn you that the crew might ask some dumbass questions or make rude comments

He also will ask you some questions, very carefully, not wanting to sound ignorant

He would come to your aid if you needed support, especially within his own crew

If you’re the type to wear a lot of make-up, he’ll be on your ass about cleaning your face every night 

He’d even help you do a skin care routine to make sure you were taking care of yourself!

If you bother him enough, he’ll start to do it with you, too

Gets you stuff that remind him of you, things he believes may align with your style

All in all, he’s pretty indifferent to the style, and may even be open to dipping back into it a little bit

He looks great in eyeliner, but damn it he keeps smudging it

It was a Teacher!Buggy AU with Crocomom and Dadhawk. + Shanks co-parenting Luffy with Crocodile. That note was so long I literally spent like 45 mins writing it here on your ask and it was just. Gone. Or I think it did. Why does life hate me. I'm just gonna be brief with this cuz I still think it's golden lmao. Croco and Mihawk work long hours so their kids (Luffy, Zoro, Perona) have to wait for a few hours until they're picked up by their parents. The school doesn't have school buses bc I said so (no I am not cruel it's just out of my budget /j). So Buggy takes the responsibility to keep them comfortable and entertained while they wait. Croco and Mihawk meeting this charming (and clown looking) blue-haired guy and they start courting him. Shanks gets dragged in on the courting bc of Luffy. Also he was already courting Buggy. I didn't write their process of courting I basically skipped and went,, their wedding will take part in a Goth castle. And the design are all sunshine and rainbows (literally). Sanji, Usopp, Nami, Vivi, Zoro and Luffy being in a class along with other kids. Franky, Robin, Jinbei and Brook are in higher classes. Chopper is atom. Not here in the world yet. Perona is like, 2-3yrs older than her brothers so. Yeah *awkwardly shuffles* (I love perona I swear-). Implied Zosan. Some rando: but you didn't imply shi— Me: Shhh I did. *gaslighting*. Law is also there in the classroom with lower grade strawhats. He's suffering. He only attends 3 days a week tho, he's mostly homeschooled bc of his sickness. He's homeschooled by Cora. (You can pry Law and Cora from my cold dead hands. You can separate them when I dissolve into ashes). Don't worry as he gets older his sickness is cured. Ofc he's cured by Cora. That's really sad, I really like this idea (though I see Shanks and Buggy more as siblings, but I understand the idea of Shuggy) It's fine that this became about so many people, I really like this.

Teacher!Buggy sounds so cool, you know that he's the flashiest and maybe one of the craziness of the things he'll do to get his students good things that will boost their learning. He knows that every kid might not have the same learning paths as others.

How many classes does this man teach? Who knows, too many for how much he gets paid. All teachers needs to get paid more.

I would think Jinbei and Brook being other fun teachers in the school, like Tom could be as well!
