The thing is that he is So Done With This by now, and when he feels something press against his back and some squeaky voice just saying “don’t move!” he sighs and puts his hands up, all casual compliant whatever

Sits very primly in the backseat of the car that they threw him in, and of course he tears them up, “really? An unmarked vehicle? Do you understand how suspicious you look? And not even any accommodations, don’t you understand that hostages are much more compliant if they feel they have some sort of leverage—“ (they give him a cup of tea to placate him for a bit)

Then “I suppose you want the entire police force after you, too. My husband is known for his ruthless pursuits, as I’m sure you’re aware.”

…husband?

ARCH HIS EYEBROW. “Don’t tell me you didn’t know.”

HANG UP FAST, throw his phone out the window, whatever, and MEANWHILE, Phoenix gathering evidence (first name basis? canceling plans to watch Steel Samurai?? I love you???Something seems fishy….)

They find him in less than an hour

“So… husband?”

“Shut up, Wright”

I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.

I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.

If you'd like to do the same, you can look at Operation Olive Branch, which hosts hundreds of Palestinian escape funds or donate to Safebow, which has helped facilitate the safe crossing and securing of important medical procedures for over 150 at-risk palestinians since the beginning of the genocide.

Explanation for kestrel Fran: (to clarify first: i went off the behaviors of an American kestrel, but the coloration of a banded kestrel because it fits her better)

Originally, I planned to have her as a peregrine falcon because of her whole “speedrunner” vibe, but peregrines have to really commit to their dives yknow? franziska commits but she can adapt and retry faster than a peregrine, so i switched it (but as always i’m indecisive as hell and everything is subject to change LOL)

i liked the peregrines pattern for her though,, the banded kestrel looks pretty similar. also kestrels are small and i think that’s cute sue me :3

i also struggled a lot (A LOT) to come up with something i liked for Miles, but i ended up pretty happy with the kite ! ( not all prosecutors are birds of prey btw, these 3 just so happened to be lol )
