Incorrect quote
Miles: Would you stab your best friend in the leg for 10 million gold?
Y/n: You stab me, and then when my leg gets better, we buy a big-ass house.
Gwen: You can stab me too, then we’ll have 20 million.
Y/n: Good thinking.

"Y/n...?" Miles looked as if he had just seen a ghost, "How long have you been—" She hadn’t even realized how she stood by the door, crying with her mouth covered, her other hand clutching her aching chest, until he noticed her.
"Miles..." Y/n managed to choke out, her voice barely a whisper as she looked at her supposed lover Miles, comforting Gwen on the floor of their shared home's living room. Her eyes were filled with absolute sorrow, betrayal, hurt, anger, and anguish all rolled into one. She stood there helplessly, feet seemingly glued to the ground even if her brain has been telling her to run.
But she couldn't seem to look away or move a single inch as the tears continued to flow down like a stream down her cheeks that have turned pale from shock. Miles was rendered speechless, he had never seen Y/n like this, and he hadn't seen her cry much either.
"Y/n..." He said with a weak voice, his voice breaking ever so slightly as he slowly unwrapped his arms from Gwen, standing up to take a step towards her. He knew he should come to her, to hug her, comfort her, tell her it's okay but he couldn't seem to bring himself to do it. His hands trembled as he looked into her eyes. Y/n could see the fear and regret in them.
"What... What are you doing with her?" She croaked, still in a tone that made her voice sound like the harsh cold wind of winter. Y/n had watched Miles comfort Gwen for the past thirty minutes, and all she could do was see how vulnerable they were to each other, how Miles' comforting voice that felt so much like caramel soothed his ex-girlfriend who had been weeping like a deer in his chest.
It was another sense of betrayal and hurt, a whole new level of pain that Y/n couldn't even begin to explain. No words could describe how... broken she felt.
"She's... She's having.." he started, before pausing, trying to configure the right words to say to her—"She's having a hard time right now." He finally finished, his voice sounding weak. All Y/n did was stare right at him, tears still rolling down her eyes.
Seeing her cry made him want to do anything—to hug her, comfort her, and just say “Everything’s fine. I'm sorry, please stop crying, I love you." Miles didn't know what to do, it seemed as if he couldn't stop her from crying and it broke him.
Y/n started to let out small sobs from her lips that had dried and cracked from letting out so many tears. Her hands crept up to her face, trying to see if she could wake up from this dream that's become her new hell.
She was shaking her head slightly, shoulders sagging more and more as she felt all her patience thin out like paper. "You promised... You told me that you don't talk to her anymore." Y/n said slowly, her words slightly muffled from her hands.
Oh, how she tried so hard to not have her voice crack, even though she could hear her heart break into a million pieces per second.
Upon hearing her words, Miles visibly flinched. He looked down at his feet as if he was suddenly ashamed of himself. His head tilted back up to her, his eyes filled with shame. Miles stood there frozen, a few feet away from her, unable to bring himself to approach or move a single inch.
It was as if he wanted to make it up to her, but he was too scared, too fearful of what would happen. "Y/n..." The way he said her name was like it was a silent prayer, a plea. "I'm... sorry..."
After a few more tears, she removed her hands from her face. Her head hung low, but her eyes looked up at Miles with newly found determination and courage but still with a tinge of fear and hurt.
"You still love her."
Her words itself may have downright punched her heart as she could feel it gets beaten up and shatter, falling to the depths of her very soul. She didn't want to utter what she had been thinking since she saw the way Miles comforted Gwen with so much love that she thought was only reserved for her. Y/n feared that once she said it out loud, it would become real.
But deep down she knew that this had become her reality, whether she said it or not.
Miles felt like he was stabbed at every syllable, how deep her words wounded him. Yet he had to admit that the truth in what she said made them all the more gut-wrenching.
He looked away from her, trying to gather some little courage before facing Y/n once more. Miles' brown eyes bore into hers, two pairs of eyes containing remorse, regret, and betrayal. "Yes..." He finally answered, the weight of his guilt dragging every word down with him.
The second he confirmed her statement, it was as if her vision went black. "Thank you... for your honesty." Was all she could say.
Y/n's feet may weigh a thousand pounds right now, but she forced herself, dragging herself out the door. The only thing that she could think of was that she had to get away.
To run.
To hide.
To go to a place where Miles wouldn't find her.
His simple “ yes “ reply was enough to tell her that she was no longer wanted or needed. She felt herself to be a burden, someone holding back Miles from truly loving Gwen. Even though he had made promises to her, that he'd keep his and Y/n's relationship safe and out of harm.
As she started to walk away, Miles' heart severed apart with each step she took. He had never felt so lost, so scared, as he did right now. He hasn't even spared Gwen a glance behind him as he tried to take another step towards the direction Y/n disappeared to.
She walked away from him and he could only watch. All he wanted was to ask her to stay, to forgive him. He didn't want to lose Y/n, but he was too scared to act, fearing that it would make matters worse than it already was.
If that was even possible.
Y/n turned right towards their shared bedroom, her eyes sticking to the ground because she refused to take in the sight of the many pictures of her and Miles scattered around the walls and tables of the bedroom.
She made a beeline to the closet, pulled out luggage, and just threw in all the clothes she owned, every accessory in their shared drawers, and every perfume that decorated the vanity.
Y/n was slowly removing every trace of her in the bedroom.
Once she was done, she zipped the luggage close, and stomped to their framed pictures, their polaroids that were clipped to the walls, everything that had the both of them in it, and started throwing them across the tiled floor. She didn't let out a single scream, letting the picture frames break to make all the noise for her as she couldn't let out any noise.
Every time it shattered against the polished floor, her heart broke along with it.
Y/n continued to break and rip every picture, tears streaming hot down her cheek, dripping off her chin, and staining the dissipated pictures and smashed frames by her feet.
Miles stood there, his heart in his throat, hearing the sounds of glass smashing and wooden picture frames hitting the floor. He didn't move, though it hurt to hear that, and seeing the pictures being destroyed hurt even more.
He knew he should do something, he knew he should call out to her—but he was too much of a coward. He watched her destroy everything that held memories of their now-broken relationship.
Once everything was laid out on the floor either broken or ripped to shreds, Y/n fell to her knees, her hands covered in deep cuts as it started to bleed out from how hard her grip was while smashing the frames and destroying the pictures.
But she could only stare, her soulless eyes glazing over her two hands that had so much resemblance to her emotional and mental state. All wounded and cut up, bleeding for the whole world to see.
Her fingers shook ever so slightly, her perfectly manicured nails were now tinted a crimson shade from her blood, and all she could do was stare.
She didn't even feel any pain.
Miles finally snapped out of it, letting out a pained gasp as he sees her lacerated hands. He knew he had to do something and so he tried to walk to her, taking each step as if they were as heavy as lead weights. "Y/n... please... stop... you've hurt yourself..." He said as tears made their way down his face once again.
It was as if Y/n didn't hear him even though she did. She refused to respond, picking up the little pieces of the pictures she destroyed and examining them with her bloodied hands.
Every picture she saw, each one was of them that stared back at her with wide smiles. So much life, so much love and passion.
Now look at them. Look at how they ended up.
It was so pathetic that she thought it was laughable. How could their picture-perfect relationship turn into something so hideous, so ugly? Her mind was on constant replay of the way Miles' arms were wrapped around Gwen, whispering sweet nothings to her as she cried uncontrollably against him.
"Why did you do this to us Miles? We were doing so good..." She muttered. Y/n's face no longer held any sadness or... Any emotion. She was just there, kneeling on the floor with her cut-up hands and body staying still like she became a doll devoid of feelings.
"Y/n—" He started, his voice quiet and unsure. Miles continued to inch closer and closer to her, though it was clear he did so with caution. "I know that right now it may be hard for you to believe me, but... I'm sorry... I didn't mean for things to go this far I swear..." Miles whispered with quivering lips. He was trying so hard to remain composed, but he could feel his emotions overflow and take over his entire body.
He continued towards her until he was inches in front of Y/n, his heart practically beating out of his chest and with hands that were mad trembling.
"Y/n... Please don't leave me..." His voice convulsed in guilt. Miles knelt to be at her eye level, to beg for her forgiveness. He didn't care that the frame shards were probing his knees. He eyed her injured hands, reaching his hands toward her as if he was trying to stop her from leaving him forever.
But he could sense it. They both could. It was the end for the two of them.
Y/n was too tired, too exhausted to push his hands away. She remained in her spot as she felt walls around herself build-up, her soul fading further away from reality, causing her to be numb. Her eyes drifted to the hands that belonged to him, she couldn't help but remember how these same hands were the place she called her safe space for so many years.
Now, she thinks of it as the hands that had ruined her ruined them.
She sees the hands that had comforted someone who wasn't her, another girl who wasn't even supposed to be in their lives anymore. "Go to her Miles..." She whispered weakly, still refusing to look at him.
Miles' breath hitched, and his face paled at the words that came out of her mouth. "Y/n... no..." he tried to say something, to make her stay, anything. There were so many words on his tongue that he wished to utter out, but he didn't have the courage or strength to say a single one.
He wanted to say how much he loved her, but he knew that Y/n was drifting further away from him with each passing second.
So Miles did the only thing he could and stared at her, with a face frozen with shame and fear.
His words slowly snapped her out of her trance, like a spell that seemed to have awoken her back to reality.
She slowly pushed herself up, wiping down her hands on her skirt to remove the remaining blood that hadn't dried out. Her e/c eyes finally looked down at Miles, kneeling before her.
Y/n felt her blood boil at how pathetic he looked. She wondered how he could look in such a way when he was the one at fault, who practically shredded their relationship into pieces the moment he let Gwen inside their home.
"Go to her Miles," She repeated with a more stern voice. Her breathing started to become heavier with all the anger inside of her threatening to spill over. "That's what you wanted anyway right?" Y/n said a bit louder now. "It's her! It's always been fucking her right?!" She was yelling, each word leaving a strain on her throat and a bad taste on her tongue.
Her hands balled into fists, feeling the sting of her nails digging into her new cuts and wounds but she didn't give two shits about it right now.
The fire in her eyes scared Miles. He started to hyperventilate, his chest tightening and feeling his lungs scream in search of air. Her voice was laced with so much malice and hatred that it scared him. “Y/n, please... I—" His words were getting tangled, and they were sounding more and more like a mess.
"It's always been her. No matter how many fucking times I tried to be perfect for you, to be the best woman for you. It was never fucking enough because I WASN'T HER!" Y/n cried out, her hand clutching her chest so hard that she thought she would dig into her skin and her heart would bleed out.
She was heaving alongside him, their chests rising up and down in sync. Her every word tasted sour to her like each syllable was a dart of poison that was stabbing her insides and gutting her out. Miles flinched as her words pierced through him.
It was his fault, and he knew it. It hurt him to see the person he had come to love, hate him. He knew he deserved the anger, the hate, and he just felt himself hit rock bottom.
How could he do that to her?
To destroy her trust?
Gwen had wanted to talk to him about something and started telling him about her problems. He wanted to be there for her, but not realizing that he was jeopardizing his relationship with Y/n until it was too late. Some of his heart still belonged to Gwen, but god did he wish it didn't.
"Well, you should be fine now though, right? You can go back to her because I'm leaving." Y/n said with a newfound calm tone. She walked past him to grab her luggage, wincing in pain from her wounds as she pulled them out of their bedroom, leaving Miles in the heap of ripped-up pictures and broken frames.
She also walked past Gwen who was sitting silently in the living room.
She tried to approach Y/n, but the wounded girl was quick to walk out the door, slamming it behind her as she disappeared into the night, leaving the place she'd called theirs for the last five years.
But now, it wasn't her home anymore.
Fin.

𝘔𝘠 𝘏𝘌𝘙𝘖!┊synopsis: a short blurb about you and your bodyguard miles!
best friend miles x reader
as miles' friend, he had inadvertently put your life at risk. while he protected his identity to the best of his ability, you and him were very publicly friends, and you were the figure in a lot of paparazzi photos of spiderman suspected to be a 'special' kind of friend. his girlfriend. .
so of course his enemies wanted to use the possibility of a 'girlfriend' against him. which led to now, miles having to stakeout at your home, overnight, to keep you safe. he'd never spent the night at yours, despite constantly being together it just seemed to.. couply? but your mum is a very big 'shipper' of you too getting together, and now very discreet about it either.
"now ill be in my room sweetheart, but you let me know if you need anything at all!" your mother winked dramatically before scurrying out the door to dinner with her friends.
had your mother really left you home alone? with a boy?
this was all miles' fault. he insisted on staying the night to keep watch over you. argueing "you don’t have to be alone tonight." and you would have been able to decline if it werent for the pout on his face, and those sweet puppy dog eyes.
dammit.
miles shuffled on the spot shyly, was he.. blushing?
he avoided your eyes, knowing you were glaring at him due to your predement, "you shouldn’t be alone right now. i’ll take the couch, it’ll be fine-" no way, you might not want, or need him, to spend the night, but you were not a bad host.
" don’t be ridiculous, there’s enough room on this bed for both of us." you eased up on the glare enough that miles could look tou in the eye, seemingly less flustered and more comfortsble at the. idea of being able to protect you from the same room.
your bodyguard, how lucky.
little did you know just how lucky you'd get tonight.

ghostflower when they take up the same space together - even if it's not very often - act like they are one person. miles shares his earbuds or turns his headphones around like speakers and plays his music louder for her, gwen puts her feet up across his lap when they're sitting on a couch. his clothes become hers and the sweaters she leaves in his room get folded and put away alongside his own. miles swings off of webs that gwen leaves behind like some kind of acrobatic performance, even if his webshooters are working just fine. they hardly are seen without each other if they happen to be in the same dimension at the same time, everywhere he goes she'll follow and vice versa. he walks to the beat that gwen drums on his hand when their fingers are intertwined, hums along a melody that he's not sure he's heard before or came up with on the spot. they live in sync of the other, two halves of the same whole - completing what is missing.

You had reason to be suspicious of Gwen and Miles' friendly relationship. You were beginning to get worried whenever he would leave for days and hours without end. Every time you would ask him about where he was the night or day before, he would shove it off and say “I didn't feel good, does that answer your question?” Slowly, he began to stop answering you and switch the conversation.
At some point, you realized the girl's products had been left in his bedroom. You walked in and found an unfamiliar jacket with the name “Gwen” sewn into it in the pocket. He had defended himself and said "It was the designer baby. Don't get pissed."
You sat on endless nights staring at your unreturned calls and ‘Delivered’ messages. A couple of weeks later, you were invited to a campus party for the countless amazing test scores. You texted Miles to see if he would go with you and he texted back a short answer, “I don't think my mom will let me. Sorry.” You were tempted to not go, but when your best friend told you to leave him alone and you would be her date, you happily said yes.
There were gorgeous lights stringed together across the school hallway as you walked to get to the gymnasium where the dance was being held. That's whenever you see your worst nightmare. Gwen and Miles talking against one of the walls. The beautiful blonde girl twisted her hair into her fingers, staring into Miles’ eyes.
“Oh no this bitch didn't!” Your best friend exclaimed. You walked up to him, tapping him on the shoulder. The black and white tux was perfectly tailored and ironed. This wasn't a “last minute call” he had done weeks before. “So, your mom let you go?”
You see his face drop. He had been caught. His hand fell to the back of his head, a nervous action he did in uncomfortable situations. You see the way Gwen shifts away from the situation, telling Miles she was getting drinks. You tried to keep your head up, you weren't gonna let him ruin your night.
“Baby. You swear I was gonna text you.” Miles lets out after a few seconds of him not responding to you. You take your bottom lip between your teeth, biting it anxiously. “Oh yeah definitely. While you're flirting with Gwen.” He drops open his mouth after you let out the accusation. “Yout isn't like that! You have no idea about me and Gwen.”
You scoff and look down. “Do I even know about my boyfriend?” The words drop with venom. He knows you're right, the secrets are slowly being dug up from the piles of dirt Miles has tried to cover them up with. “You know that you've lied to me. But you do not get to come in here and freak out at me!” Now it's your turn to drop your jaw. Miles begins to get angry. His nostrils flare and his fists ball up.
“Are you cheating on me?” Yout comes out in a blow. The most dangerous words to leave in someone's mouth. An accusation that can leave years of damage dropped like a bomb on Miles. “No, I'm not, baby.” You shake your head at his audacity. The way he stares at Gwen in a conversation about your relationship.
“You can't even take your eyes off her." You say, the tears welling in your eyes, threatening to drop at any moment and ruin your perfectly applied makeup. Miles stares at you in disbelief. "You cannot just walk in here and accuse me of cheating on you. That's not what a girlfriend does." You take a deep breath and try to stay composed.
You can feel the anger bubbling up inside, but you know that lashing out won't do any good. You take a step back and silently walk away, the tears streaming down your face. He follows you through the double door and into the hallway. He reaches out to touch you, but you quickly dodge his hand. You look him in the eyes, and with a trembling voice, you say, "You're done." You want to yell at him, tell him to stop. He stares at you, his expression unreadable. You turn away, tears still streaming down your face. "Wait," you hear him speak. "Let me explain."
You don't let him explain; you get in his face and ask him. "Me or her?" He averts his gaze and pauses. His silence speaks. His answer is final: "Her." You take a deep breath and walk away. You take a deep breath, and without waiting for an answer, you turn around and walk away. He calls after you once more. You hear it four times before you turn around. "What about it Miles?"
"You didn't know you were coming to the party. You told Gwen to come and she came. We're just friends, you swear." You stare at him, his eyes rapidly trying to decipher the reaction displayed on your face. "Yet, you still chose her." He took a step back, the color draining from his face. He opened his mouth to respond but nothing came out. He shook his head slowly and walked away. "I was the best thing at that goddamned party! You did everything to make you love me again. You'll always choose her, won't you?" You watched him walk away, my heart aching.
All the memories of us flooded my mind and you couldn't bear it anymore. You wanted to run after him and tell him you still loved him, but it was too late. You are always too late. Too late for him. Too late for him to love you the way you loved him. "Do something, Miles," you choked out, your voice trembling with emotion. "Say something, anything. You can't see everything we had slipping away like this!"
You stood there, motionless, my throat tight, tears streaming down my cheeks. He had already gone far away from me, and you knew that You would never be able to reach him again. You had lost him forever. You felt like You had done everything You could to try and make him stay, to make him see how much You loved him, but in the end, he had decided that he wanted to leave.
At that moment, You realized that You could not control how he felt. You could only control my actions, and You had to accept that You had done all You could and it still wasn’t enough. You needed to learn to let go, accept what had happened, and move on. Even though it was hard, you had to find a way to pick up the pieces and start over. You had to learn to find peace and happiness in life without him.
He had lost you and he was never getting you back. You wanted to let go of the pain and find a way to heal. You knew that you had to find a way to forgive yourself and forgive him before you could move forward. You had to learn to be strong and take control of your own life.

Could you do a plus sized reader fic but for 1610 miles? There's literally no fics of him 😭
I can do that for you 💟
1610 miles x plus sized reader
Chapter warning: there’s a little spicy moment but nothing to crazy, miles being a cutie
Tumblr media
When Miles had first met you he instantly fell in love with you
He couldn’t stop staring at you and Gwen had to smack him out of his trance.
You had thought he was a creep because he wouldn’t stop staring and was always trying to make conversation but he later explained he just thought you were pretty.
After a couple of dates he tried to seduce you at one of them but failed. It ended up with you seducing him into your bedroom and the rest was history.
In the first few weeks of dating he was like a puppy following our every move and making sure you felt comfortable around him. He always gave you a massage after a long day or when he’s upset he’ll just lay down on top of you and you’ll rub your hand through his hair.
“Baby can you just hold me?”
No one was surprised that you two ended up dating but they heavily disliked that you distracted miles and always found you two either making out or half naked in closet.
Whenever you felt insecure about your body or someone made a comment about your body he was always there to defend you and comfort you.
He is very possessive over you so anytime he hears something inappropriate being said about you he’s ready to fight and you have to drag him away from the area.
When you two are alone he loves to place tiny kisses on your thighs or he will lift your top and play with your breast which usually led to a long night of him praising and degrading while he pounded into you
“Who’s my pretty little slut?”
“I am!”
“That’s right”
You had always been scared one day Miles would get severely injured or wouldn’t come back to you being spiderman but nothing could prepare you for the moment a clone copy of miles popped into your bedroom.
Miles did everything he could to protect from the danger in the world but he couldn’t stop you being hurt by the prowler and he would never forgive himself
“Princess I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you”
“Miles you did everything you could.”

BEEN THROUGH THIS
➥ summary : miles cheat on you but don’t worry you ain’t trippin
➥ cheating! Miles Morales x Reader, Hobie Brown x Reader
➥ a/n: had been inspired by @thebestandrealestever fic “NOT YOU TOO”
Tumblr media
The New York skyline glowed with the soft hues of dusk as (Y/N) sat perched on the couch in Miles Morales' apartment. The familiar comfort of his living room surrounded her, yet a sense of unease lingered in the air. Miles had been acting peculiar lately, and it was becoming impossible for her to ignore.
They had spent countless evenings like this, side by side, their laughter filling the space as they shared stories and dreams. But recently, Miles seemed distant—his smile not as bright, his attention elsewhere. It was as if a curtain had fallen between them, and (Y/N) was left to grapple with the uncertainty of the change.
"Hey," Miles called as he bounded up the stairs, a smile lighting up his face. "The food's here!"
(Y/N) managed a smile, hoping to mask the concern that gnawed at her heart. "Great, I'm starving."
As Miles disappeared into the kitchen to retrieve their takeout, (Y/N)'s gaze drifted to his phone resting on the coffee table. It was there that she had seen the signs—the late-night messages he quickly silenced, the missed calls, and the whispered conversations he tried to hide. She had tried to push away the doubts, to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the distance between them had become too great to ignore.
Just as she was about to shake off her thoughts, a message notification flashed across Miles' phone screen. The name Gwen appeared, and curiosity got the best of (Y/N). A knot formed in her stomach as she glanced over the messages—innocuous at first, but as she scrolled, her heart dropped.
"You free tonight?" Gwen's message read, followed by a string of messages that seemed to confirm what her intuition had feared.
Her heart raced, a storm of emotions swirling within her chest. She felt betrayed, hurt, and a profound sense of loss. The words on the screen were a painful reality—a reality that revealed Miles' infidelity.
Just as the weight of the truth settled over her, Miles returned, a bag of takeout in his hand. He smiled, the façade of normalcy masking the truth that lay beneath the surface. "(Y/N), I got your favorite—spicy chicken noodles."
She managed a weak smile, her heart aching as she accepted the food. "Thanks, Miles."
They ate in silence, the once-comfortable camaraderie now shattered by the truth that hung heavy between them. Every bite felt like a struggle, every moment a reminder of what had been lost.
As the evening grew darker, the urge to confront Miles gnawed at (Y/N), but she resisted. Instead, she played it cool, pretending as if nothing was amiss. As their meal came to an end, a ding sounded from Miles' phone once more.
"Sorry, I have to head home," (Y/N) said, her voice calm despite the tempest of emotions within her.
Miles looked up, his brow furrowed. "Already? You usually stay later."
"Yeah, just got something I need to take care of," she replied, standing and grabbing her jacket.
Miles nodded, his gaze lingering on her. "Okay. Let me know if you need anything."
She managed a half-hearted smile, her voice steady as she spoke. "I will."
Gathering her resolve, (Y/N) left Miles' apartment, the weight of his betrayal a burden she couldn't escape. As she stepped out into the cool night air, she couldn't help but feel the sting of tears threatening to spill. The pain of Miles' actions was a wound that cut deep, leaving her to navigate the tangled mess of emotions that swirled within.
Once outside, she walked briskly, the distant sound of city life a distant backdrop to the turmoil in her mind. The truth had shattered the world she had built with Miles, and the path ahead was uncertain.
With each step, (Y/N) resolved to confront the reality of her situation—to find closure and, ultimately, to heal. The foundation of trust had crumbled, but within her, a glimmer of strength burned—a determination to rebuild her life, to rediscover her sense of self, and to move forward in a world forever changed by the unraveling threads of a love once cherished.
Upon getting home she made her way upstairs to her bedroom but now in the confines of her room, (Y/N)'s emotions had transformed from sorrow to a fierce anger that roiled within her chest. She felt the need to release the seething frustration that consumed her, and so, she found herself screaming into her pillow, her voice muffled but her anger echoing in the room.
With each scream, she pounded her fists onto the pillow, the strikes serving as a vent for the fury that raged within. The pain in her knuckles mirrored the pain in her heart, and the act of releasing it felt cathartic in its own twisted way.
As the echoes of her screams subsided, her breathing came in ragged gasps, her body drained from the intensity of her outburst. Collapsing onto the bed, (Y/N) stared at the ceiling, the weight of her emotions now tempered by a newfound determination.
Her phone lay on the bedside table, a lifeline that connected her to her friend who had been a constant support throughout her tumultuous journey. With trembling fingers, she dialed the familiar number, her heart pounding as she waited for the call to connect.
"Hey," her friend's voice greeted her, warm and comforting.
Tears welled in (Y/N)'s eyes, but they weren't tears of sadness anymore—they were tears of anger, determination, and a desperate need for clarity.
"Hey," (Y/N) replied, her voice cracking slightly. "Can we talk?"
"Of course," her friend responded, her tone gentle and understanding.
Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) recounted the events of the evening—the cold distance, the heart-wrenching discovery, and the overwhelming anger that now coursed through her veins. Her friend listened patiently, offering words of sympathy and comfort as (Y/N) poured out her heart.
"You don't deserve any of this," her friend said, her voice carrying a mix of empathy and outrage. "You're stronger than you realize."
(Y/N) nodded, even though her friend couldn't see. "I know. And you know what? I'm done being sad. I'm furious."
There was a pause before her friend responded, her voice holding a hint of mischief. "Well, fury can be a powerful motivator."
(Y/N) furrowed her brow. "What do you mean?"
"I mean," her friend's voice held a hint of mischief, "why not channel that anger into something that empowers you? Get even in your own way."
A surge of energy coursed through (Y/N) at the suggestion. It was a dangerous idea, one that went against her moral compass, but the thought of taking control of her life was enticing.
"You mean..." (Y/N) hesitated, her mind racing as she considered the possibility.
"I mean," her friend continued, her voice taking on a sly edge, "if he can cheat, then so can you. Show him that you won't be the victim in all this."
(Y/N) felt a knot form in her stomach. The idea of revenge wasn't something she had ever considered, but her friend's words were a tempting whisper of possibility.
"I don't know if I can do that," (Y/N) admitted, her voice wavering.
Her friend's tone softened. "I'm not saying you have to. But consider this—your relationship is no longer the same after what he did. When he cheated everything and everyone was up for grabs if he didn't want it to be an open relationship, he shouldn't have cheated in the first place."
(Y/N) was silent for a moment, her mind in turmoil as she grappled with the moral implications of the idea. The pain of betrayal was still raw, but the suggestion her friend had given her was a fierce reminder that she deserved better.
As the call ended, (Y/N) lay on her bed, her heart heavy with the choices that lay ahead. The idea of getting even ignited a fire within her—a fire that burned with the desire to reclaim her power, to rewrite her narrative, and to prove that she could stand on her own terms.
With the room bathed in the soft glow of her bedside lamp, (Y/N) stared at her ceiling, a mixture of anger and determination churning within her. The journey ahead wouldn't be easy, and the choices she faced were complex, but within her heart, a spark had been ignited—the spark of a woman who refused to be a victim, who refused to be defined by someone else's actions.
She had been knocked down, but as she lay there, her resolve crystallized. It was time to rise, to reclaim her sense of self, and to show the world that she was far from powerless. With every beat of her heart, she embraced the truth—that the fire of her fury would guide her, fuel her, and ultimately lead her toward a future marked not by the pain of betrayal, but by the strength of her own spirit.
Lying in her bed, (Y/N) couldn't shake the tumultuous mix of emotions that churned within her. The conversation with her friend had left her with conflicting thoughts, but the seed of empowerment had been planted. As she contemplated her next steps, her phone buzzed on the nightstand beside her.
Glancing at the screen, she saw a message from Hobie—a friend who had always been honest and forthright, even if his opinions often rubbed her the wrong way. A hint of a smile tugged at her lips as she read his message: "Hey, you up?"
With a sigh, (Y/N) tapped out a reply: "Yeah, what's up?"
Hobie's response was swift: "Can I come over? Got something I wanna talk about."
(Y/N) hesitated for a moment, her mind racing with the possibility of a distraction from her own thoughts. "Sure, come on over."
It wasn't long before a knock sounded on her door. (Y/N) got up and opened it, revealing Hobie standing there, a casual smile on his face.
"Hey," he greeted, stepping into the room.
"Hey," (Y/N) replied, offering him a faint smile.
As they settled into seats, Hobie's gaze lingered on her, his eyes sharp and assessing. "You okay?"
(Y/N) sighed, her shoulders slumping. "Honestly, no. But I'm trying to be."
Hobie nodded in understanding. "It's rough, what you're going through."
(Y/N) looked at him, surprised by the empathy in his voice. "You know?"
Hobie sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I've never been a fan of Miles, you know that. But I don't like seeing you hurt."
A mixture of emotions swirled within (Y/N) as she regarded Hobie. He had always been candid about his feelings for her, even when she was in a relationship with Miles. Their dynamic had always been complicated, filled with unspoken tension and unexpressed emotions.
"I appreciate that," (Y/N) said softly, her voice tinged with gratitude.
Hobie's gaze held hers, his expression earnest. "You deserve better, you know. Someone who values you and treats you right."
The weight of his words settled over (Y/N), a reminder that she wasn't alone in her pain. Hobie's friendship had weathered many storms, and despite their differences, his concern for her was genuine.
"I've been thinking," Hobie began, his tone measured, "about what you said earlier."
(Y/N) furrowed her brow, her curiosity piqued. "What did I say?"
Hobie's lips quirked into a wry smile. "About getting even."
A mixture of surprise and intrigue flooded (Y/N). "And?"
Hobie leaned forward, his gaze steady. "I've always told you how I feel, (Y/N). And I know you're going through a lot right now, but I can't help it. I care about you, more than I probably should."
(Y/N)'s heart raced as the unspoken tension between them crackled in the air. She had always known about Hobie's feelings, but to hear him lay them out so candidly was a revelation.
"Hobie..." she began, her voice a mixture of uncertainty and caution.
"I'm not saying this to take advantage of your situation," Hobie interjected, his voice firm. "But maybe it's time for both of us to move on from relationships that aren't making us happy."
(Y/N)'s mind raced as she considered his words. Hobie's feelings for her were no secret, and her own emotions were more complicated than ever. The possibility of exploring a new path, one that didn't involve the heartache she had experienced, was both tempting and frightening.
Hobie's gaze held hers, his expression vulnerable. "I know this is a lot to take in, and I'm not expecting an answer right now. Just... think about it."
As Hobie stood, preparing to leave, (Y/N) found herself torn between the past and the uncertain future that now lay before her. The pain of betrayal still lingered, but the possibility of finding solace in Hobie's friendship—and perhaps more—was a glimmer of hope that she hadn't expected to find.
Before Hobie left, (Y/N) found herself wrestling with the whirlwind of emotions that his confession had stirred within her. The idea of exploring a connection with him held both promise and uncertainty, and as she sat on her bed, she felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
“You know what, sure.” She called out to him.
As they settled into her room, the tension that had hung in the air earlier seemed to have dissipated. They decided on watching horror movies, a shared love for the genre that often led to laughter and playful teasing.
With the glow of the screen lighting their faces, (Y/N) found herself leaning back against the headboard of her bed, and Hobie settled comfortably between her legs, their bodies pressed close. The atmosphere was easy and familiar, a reminder of the camaraderie they had always shared.
As the movie played on, (Y/N) couldn't help but reach out and play with Hobie's hair, a gesture that had always been a source of comfort between them. His eyes fluttered closed, and a contented sigh escaped his lips.
Needing a distraction from the gruesome scene in the movie, she reached for her phone, fingers typing swiftly as she pulled up Gwen's Instagram profile. Her heart ached as she saw the picture—Gwen and Miles, hand in hand, their smiles radiant. The caption read, "Can't get enough of him #bestfriends." The pang of betrayal cut deep, a reminder that the wound was still fresh, and the reality of Miles' actions stung anew.
As she scrolled further, her mind raced with thoughts of retaliation, of showing the world that she was moving on, too.
After a while, she felt the urge to capture the moment—a candid snapshot that reflected the companionship they had found in one another. Grabbing her phone, she framed the shot carefully, capturing the scene of Hobie nestled between her legs as they watched the movie. The flickering light of the screen cast their profiles in gentle shadows.
With the photo captured, she added a caption that held a mixture of defiance and vulnerability: "Can't get enough of this #bestfriends." The words were a declaration of a bond that had always been present, and now, in the face of heartache and uncertainty, was blossoming into something new.
Hobie's eyes opened as she finished typing, his gaze meeting hers with curiosity. "What are you up to?"
(Y/N) held up her phone, showing him the picture and caption. "Just sharing a moment."
Hobie's lips quirked into a smile as he read the words, his expression a mixture of surprise and appreciation. "I'm honored love.”
As the movie continued to play, (Y/N) felt a sense of contentment settle over her. The pain of Miles' betrayal was still there, but in the presence of a friend who cared deeply for her, she found solace.
With every passing moment, (Y/N) was embracing the possibility of healing, of finding happiness in unexpected places, and of building a new narrative that was defined by her choices, her strength, and the companionship of someone who had always been there for her. As the movie's tension built on the screen, so did the quiet understanding between her and Hobie—a bond that was evolving, transforming, and guiding them both toward a future that held the potential for a different kind of happiness—one that was marked not by the pain of the past, but by the strength of their own choices and the connection that was slowly blooming between them.

_______________________________________________
[NAME] AND GWEN’S RELATIONSHIP WAS…
confusing to say the least, the two girls had been in a situation-ship for months, and within those months [name] hadn’t uttered a single word, talking with little sticky notes to be able to maintain conversation with those around her, gwen was the only one she ever felt herself becoming more comfortable around.. more comfortable to talk..
_______________________________________________
the first few weeks of their relationship, gwen tried to get her girlfriend who wasn’t her girlfriend yet to speak to her and her friends, the group joining in now and again to find something that [name] was passionate about to get her to speak, but that never worked. their hard work wouldn’t go to waste, it just made the young girl feel even more comfortable around them. she knew they just.. wanted to hear her more, wanted her to be included in conversation more than she was.. she could only write so fas-
“ does this look cute?” gwen’s question pulled [name] out of her thoughts, the girl looked up and saw gwen holding up a pink dress, it matched the tips of her hair, and it was a few inches off the ground, [name] nodded her head; she could feel the nerves settling in as she imagined how it would look on her girlfriend.
gwen gave a shy smile, and then looked back at the dress. “ ima try it on… see if it looks as cute as I think it does in my head.” her voice was soft, as she threw the dress over her arm, and used her free one to wrap around [name]’s waist “ c’mon.. come with me.” she nodded her head in the way to the dressing rooms.
the short walk there was quick.. and quiet, just the way they liked, the long silence was less awkward now and more comfortable as the months had gone on.
[name] smiled, as she looked over at gwen.. as the two made their way to the dressing room, gwen’s arm dropped from the other girl’s waist. pointing at the nearest dressing room, “ I’ll be in here.. knock on the door if you need me.” she spoke, her wording having become more adjusted to not make her girlfriend feel bad about not talking.
“ shout if you need me “ turned into “ text me if you need me” or “ knock if you need anything.” it put a smile on the young girl’s face knowing gwen had adjusted her vocabulary for her
[name] nodded her head, holding a thumbs up, the two stared at each other for a moment.. just mesmerized, before gwen broke eye contact first, her cheeks red as she pointed at the dressing room again “ I…yeah.” she awkwardly spoke as she walked towards the small room, and closed the door, she stared at the door as she waited for her girlfriend to come back.
her back was against the wall that was across the room, as she pulled out her phone, going to her camera to make sure her afro wasn’t a mess, making sure her makeup was still okay and that her lashes weren’t lifting, but when she heard the door open her gaze was shifted to look at gwen, who now had an awkward smile on her face, holding she held her arms behind her back as she wore the dress.. she looked gorgeous
the first thing [name] could say was
“ wow..” her tone soft and full of emotion
the word caught gwen completely off guard, her eyes looking at her girlfriend in shock and confusion as she heard her voice for the first time
“ wha..” was the only thing she could get out, but [name] kept going “ you are so…just… gorgeous “
that made gwen stop and blush, [name] looked over her girlfriend, still just absolutely smitten by how beautiful she looked, she placed her phone back in her pocket of her skirt and walked towards gwen.
“ can.. can I kiss you..?” she was on a talking streak now, this was the longest she’s ever communicated with someone outside of immediate family where she was borderline forced into communication.
“ yeah..” gwen’s face was now a deep red, as she looked at her girlfriend, a grin plastered on her face.. she didn’t mention her verbal words at all..she would’ve, but she completely forgot [name] was non verbal when that question processed through her brain.
[name] smiled, as she leaned in, her eyes closing, gwen stayed where she was, closing her own eyes and puckering up her lips.
the kiss was soft, gentle but full of emotion and the love the two girls shared for one another, she loved it..
she loved her

summary: a work visit to 1610
A/N: ATSV SPOILERS DONT READ!!!!! miles is such cutie i love him!!! also, WE DO NOT HATE GWEN STACY IN THIS HOUSEHOLD!!!! SHE IS PRACTICALLY A HOMELESS CHILD THIS MOVIE! SHE IS SCARED!
masterlist / miles morales
Tumblr media
“y/n and gwen. i need both of you to head to 1610 and capture the anomaly. don’t mess around, i can only do so much if something goes wrong.”
jessica held her authority high as you and gwen walked behind her. you were excited to visit a new reality, but when you looked beside you, gwen was almost vibrating at the mention of 1610.
“don’t take forever. you have a few hours before i expect the two of you back here and reporting to me. got that?” her yellow goggles staring your teenage selves down.
“yes, ma’am.” a cheesy salute with a smile. she rolled her eyes but you saw the tug to her lips before she walked away.
gwen immediately grabbed your wrist and dragged you along, “i can’t wait to introduce you to my friend!” her joyous energy is something you’ve seen only on the really good days she had. and those were kinda rare.
“oh? is this the boy you’ve mentioned before? who you meet last year?” gwen wouldn’t stop talking about said boy when she could mention him.
there was a slight flush to her cheeks at the vague mention of him and you thought it was so adorable. likeness at first sight, you weren’t thinking they were in love. just infatuated with one another.
“well, i can’t wait to meet this mysterious romeo.” rolling the r in the name for dramatic effect. gwen lightly shoved at your shoulder causing the both of you to laugh as she set the portal.
“oh! actually, can we stop by hobie’s place? i wanna get my sweater.” you agreed, happy to see your friend again.
-
“you’ll call me if you need backup? can’t have my drummer getting hurt.”
“what am i then? flute?”
hobie was relaxed on his sofa with his arms crossed behind his head. he shrugged at your question, “can you play the flute?”
you kicked at some trash on his floor, “once when i was in third grade. so, no.” hobie shrugged again, “then you're our groupie.”
that made you roll your eyes. “yeah, okay. well, we gotta roll, hobie. so see you later, mate.” always trying to annoy him with your horrible british accent. he just laughs though. he and gwen say their goodbyes and the two of you are off to 1610.
-
“where is this dropping us off?” standing on the other side of the closed portal.
gwen was messing around with her watch, “uh, his bedroom.” flashing you a smile before going back to her watch.
brows furrowed at the information. mouth opening and closing twice, “it’s that a little creepy? dropping in unannounced. especially on a teenage boy.” shuddering at just the thought.
she waved you off, “no, no. it’s fine.” and the bottom opened up.
opening from his ceiling the two of you looked down on a boy. he was wearing a white long sleeve with a blue and red jersey over with the number forty-two. his eyes were closed with his arms crossed behind his head and bopping to whatever was playing through his headphones. a tiny smile on his lips, mumbling lyrics under his breath.
“he’s a cutie.” gwen gave a shove. and you just laughed at her flustered moment.
due to the portal gravity, objects in his room were floating from their locations. but he didn’t seem to notice. “should probably call his attention. getting weird just staring at him.” giving gwen her cue.
she started to call his name, over and over. it only took five tries before his eyes opened. and when he saw the two of you they widened and he pushed himself onto his forearms. “gwen?”
“hey, miles.” she jumped down and onto his bed. you had to maneuver yourself more carefully, feet on the bed (which you apologized for), and then the final step to the solid floor. with the portal closed everything fell. all of his nick-nacks thumping on the ground.
“woah, he- hey, gwen. didn’t- didn’t expect to see you again.” the boy chuckled nervously while he had a hand tucked behind his back. possibly hiding one of his toys.
gwen smiled at his words, “well… surprise.” she did jazz hands. they got lost in each other’s eyes, the company they’d missed for the past year and a half. it was sweet, but you were starting to feel awkward just standing in miles’s room without introducing yourself.
seeing as gwen forgot about your existence, you cleared your throat very obnoxiously. when they looked over, miles showed blatant confusion, brows furrowed and mouth slightly parted. gwen acted like she got caught with her hands in the cookie jar when she was grounded.
“right! miles, this is my friend, y/n. they are from earth-1182.” presenting you as if you were a science project to one of her professors.
you plopped down into his desk chair as you waved with one hand and pulled your mask off with the other. “my reality’s kinda similar to yours except there are animal people.” your eyes flitted around his room like what you said wasn’t crazy to his ears. gwen had to hide her smirk cause she knew what you were doing.
“wait, seriously?” miles sounded astonished by the information. your eyes fell dead on him and raised your brows high, miles seemed to deflate from the simple action. “you're just messing around, aren’t you? since i can’t confirm this.” a nod was all he got.
he laughed anyway and you smiled at the noise. you spun around in the chair and scanned all the art spread out as you heard miles ask gwen, “but seriously, how are you here? the- the collider sent you home. thought that was a one-way ticket out.”
gwen was giving vague answers as a notebook caught your attention and without thinking just started to flip through the pages, wanting to see what other art this miles morales was hiding. and apparently… a lot of gwen. “woah,” whispered under your breath. like a lot of gwen stacy drawings, in vivid detail which is impressive in your opinion.
“missed you too, miles.” and you startled at the sound of gwen’s voice over your shoulder. miles standing beside her with a strained smile as he scratched his neck. gwen moved away to a shelf and you turned to mouth “sorry,” at miles with wide eyes.
“dude, is this a collectible? why is it still in the box?” and miles tried to stop her, but she ripped a purple figure out of its cardboard home then set it down. you didn’t miss the high-pitched whimper and you shot him a look before back to gwen.
“gwen, why don’t we all go for a swing? would love to see this version of brooklyn.” trying to get her an in so the two of you could start your job. you didn’t want to worry about jessica’s potential rath.
her eyes darted to you then back at miles. she leaned against his window with her arms crossed, “what do you say, miles? could be fun if you join us. i mean, we did come all this way, would be kinda rude.” you know she was just teasing, but there sounded like a hint of guilt tripping into making miles join. which wouldn’t be super productive, but you did want to hang with him some more.
“i can’t.” he hung his head, “i’m… grounded.” an embarrassed look on his face.
you stood from his seat, “bummer.” a pat to his shoulder as you walked out his window, throwing your mask on. gwen joined a second later, but she stopped you. miles peered over his windowsill and looked down at the both of you, feet stuck to the side of the building while defying gravity.
“is spider-man grounded?” posing the question as a loophole for miles to join. he seemed hesitant, drumming his fingers on the wood, head looking over his shoulder. a grin replaced the twist to his lips. “one second.” he popped back inside then like he said, a second later he dived out in his suit.
-
“are you bleeding from your armpits?”
it sounded stupid when you said it aloud, but the red lines decorating the sides of miles’s all-black suit drew your attention. his spider logo that sat on his chest was in the same color, it looked cool.
“no- no. just- just paint.” he stuttered as he swung.
“so miles, how's being spider-man been for the past year? any cool villains?” gwen shouted over the wiping air. miles and gwen stuck close to each other as they swung past and through buildings, while you kept back just a bit to check on your watch.
“yeah, it’s been alright. i fought this dude that called himself, the spot. was ridiculous, he looked like a cow or a dalmatian with all his spots.”
your ears perked at the information, but you didn’t say anything. gwen probably had a similar reaction, but was keeping it hidden. her mind was most likely focused on miles, putting the job on the back burner for the moment, possibly why jessica wanted you to join her.
“so… wait. you never told me, how are you able to be here? both of you. thought only the collider could pull you from different realities.” miles flipped in the air when he released his web before shooting another one and falling with the momentum.
gwen and miles were bantering back and forth with their high-speed swinging and you decided to enjoy the sight of this earth. you zoned in and out of their conversation, trying to give them some privacy unless mentioned, so you didn’t hear gwen’s answer. only miles as he questioned, “wait… so you telling me that there’s an elite group of spider people? is there any way i could be welcomed?”
“all up to miguel and jessica. they are the top two of the place.” an honest answer for miles. you're still kinda new to the place so you know you're in the dark for many things, only told to do your job. you know gwen knows a bit more, reasons why she goes quiet or changes the subject.
gwen and miles continued to swing ahead, needling between buses and trucks. stopping a purse snatcher in pursuit before taking a short ride with the train. you kept note of the differences between the two realities, amazed by the small details, something so simple yet always intriguing.
your watch beeped and it showed you where the spot was located. you looked up and saw gwen and miles ahead, so you took the opportunity to go off course and set up the device. with the device prepared and your watch locked in, you followed gwen’s location and caught up with them at the top of a clock tower.
“where'd you go?” miles asked once you pulled your mask off. “oh, sorry. i was distracted by the buildings, we have different structures or gardens in some spots. always intriguing to me.” truth and a lie.
you looked around for gwen but didn’t spot her, “where’s gwen?”
miles just pointed at a gargoyle and you knew what he meant. she was under it watching the skyline. you decided to give her a moment to herself. you did a slow lap of the structure, gloved hand trailing over the stone pillars. index finger toying with the cracks from wear and tear, it brought back unpleasant memories.
“y/n?” a hand touched your shoulder and it caused you to flinch. you turned and saw miles with his hands up and a nervous grin, “sorry, sorry. didn’t mean to scare. you were just really quiet and looked kinda… sad.” he lowered his hands to his sides, and you had a feeling on what he was gonna ask.
“wanna… wanna talk about it? only if- only if you want, of course.” he’s so awkward it’s adorable. you see why gwen likes him.
you lean against a pillar as you watch the sun begin its slow descent between the fifteen-story buildings. how the birds twitter and fly back to their little nest and bird families. the honking of horns is barely audible and the people look like ants from this high, feeling like you're the only person in the world.
you trust miles, can tell he’s kind and means well with his words. “i lost someone up here. stupid goblin (harry) with his hoverboard or whatever he calls it. wasn’t fast enough and wasn’t strong enough. thought about quitting, and did for about two months. but… they need a spider. we keep them safe, the city safe. so whenever i’m out there swinging, fighting the bad guys, and helping the people, i think of them. i do it for them.”
a few tears dropped but you didn’t bother wiping them away, enjoying the release of emotions. you saw miles out the corner of your eye, how his face crumbled a bit and how his fingers twitched. without thinking you held his hand and squeezed. maybe for him, maybe for you, it didn’t matter, it just felt nice.
“why don’t you go hang with gwen? the both of you have catching up to do.” gentle smile with another squeeze before you stepped away.
when miles disappeared under the gargoyle you tapped your watch and got in contact with jessica. “everything going to plan?” she sounded busy, “yeah. the device is planted and is tracking the spots movements.”
“good. now just make sure you stop him in time. don’t get distracted. and especially don’t let gwen get distracted.” you nodded and she signed off.
sometimes you wish you never accepted the offer to join, but at least you're making friends out of this and visiting new realities. bright spots from the gloomy clouds.
“yo, y/n!” miles’s voice was carried in the wind. you stood with your feet stuck to the face of the statue and leaned over, miles and gwen upside down. “you called.”
miles and gwen smiled at each other and then miles asked, “wanna head to a party?”
-
“are you sure it’s okay we’re here? isn’t this just for family?”
“uh, yeah. friends were invited too.”
the three of you changed into normal clothes and miles was leading you and gwen up a set of fire escape stairs on the side of the building where he lived. you felt nervous about crashing a party meant for his dad, but you also had nothing to do until there was an update on the spot and you didn’t want to sit around and watch his building. gwen had no problems with leaving the job for a few hours.
“you guys stay here while i go get us some food. you’ll love it, trust me.” miles left the two of you at a little water tower as he grabbed a plate of food at the party.
“are you sure we can’t tell him the-“ “no.”
gwen cut you off plain and simple. she looked high-strung whenever you would mention the mission or jessica or miguel. your not sure what she knows, but it’s something that isn’t meant to be shared.
you changed the subject back to miles, on him specifically. “i hope you're not stringing along loverboy. he likes you, the drawings solidified that claim.” elbows leaning against the metal railing. back to the city and face to stare down gwen. you heard how she mentioned hobie a few times and you could hear the jealous ringing in your ears from miles.
gwen sighed, “it’s just… complicated.” that made you roll your eyes. “how? how is it complicated? you have a watch to travel to different realities and just now you’re seeing your friend… after a year.”
when you looked at her again her head was down and she was picking at the metal of her watch. you went a little hard on her. “sorry. not trying to be an asshole, but come on. are you just… scared? of getting close to people cause of what we do? what we’ve been through?”
she sent a sideways glance and didn’t say anything. you can’t blame her for having that attitude, you had that attitude for two months and it was just wallowing pity and a black hole of nothing. being around people makes the job of being a spider… worth it.
“we’ve all lost someone due to this, but having friends that understand is the best part about this new gig we got. so don’t try to push him away or me. we’re here for each other.”
she only sent a smile and the both of you stopped talking until miles came back with his plate of food. you picked out bites that looked tasty and, oh they were delicious. you could stuff your whole face with food if it wasn’t impolite.
“woah, slow down. got plenty of food.” miles spoke around a full mouth. you narrowed your eyes as you covered your mouth to properly chew your food down.
“hey, can i check out your watch?” pointing a lazy finger at your metal band. slipping it off with ease you set it in his waiting palm. “just be careful.” not wanting any of your settings messed with.
miles turned it this way and that, eyes taking in every piece of the small technology. he leaned forward against the railing, finger pads tapping mindlessly. “so… how long have both of you been part of this… society.”
food that was halfway to your mouth stopped as you answered easily, “about… four months. jessica honestly didn’t like me at first, but she got used to my charming personality.” miles chuckled and you ate more food.
gwen was quiet, and you knew why. you just waited and miles watched her. “gwen?” she ran a finger over the railing then sighed, “a… year.”
miles stilled, “a…a year? you- you could’ve visited…” his fingers curled tight around your watch and you heard beeping. you grabbed it gently but with force to let him know you need it back. you slipped it back on and checked on the spot, all seemed good.
“miles, i just… i was busy. there’s a bunch of stuff we have to do…” “yeah, yeah. no, i- i understand.”
the space grew thick with tension and it didn’t get better when miles’s parents showed up. and you noticed that mrs. morales was holding gwen’s sweater.
“hi, this was left in miles room, so, i’m guessing it belongs to either of you.” a tight smile on her face. gwen grabbed it sheepishly.
“rio, miles has told me so much about you.” brows raised at her using first names. you even heard mrs. morales mutter “she used my first name.”
you tried to save face by introducing yourself since gwen wasn’t doing a great job and miles was quiet. “hi, mr. and mrs. morales. i’m y/n, miles’s friend from… art class.”
that loosens them up only a smidge. “actually it’s davis. soon to be captain jeff davis.” his arms crossed over his broad chest.
“right. congratulations on the promotion, captain davis. miles is extremely proud of you.”
they hummed, two sets of eyes, one light brown and the other dark green scrutinizing you. oh, how you wished to swing away at this moment. and luckily for you, your watch beeped.
“i am so sorry, but me and gw-“ “gwanda!” miles shouted and you flinched. “gwanda and y/n have to- to- to go help their parents with something.” terrible lie from miles.
and you could tell his parents weren’t too convinced as they looked between you and gwen. “adopted siblings.” she tried to save the day. rio and jeff looked at each other and shrugged.
“well… it was nice meeting… the both of you.” mrs. morales seemed hesitant around the both of you. “you two have a good night.”
gwen climbed down the stairs while you made final goodbyes. “mrs. morales you have a lovely son, you should be proud. and again, congratulations captain davis. i know new york is safe in your hands.”
you and gwen walked back to the stairs you came up. you went down first and when you didn’t hear the loud metal creaking, you looked up. gwen hesitated at the top, head barely turned to the left before she made her descent.
“well… that could have gone better.”

no one ever talks about how swinging through the night with different directions of light is difficult. you don’t have night vision built in your eyes, and the blinding light from the train slowly gives you a headache. you kept your complaints to yourself seeing as gwen is not in a talking mood.
the two of you land on the building where you planted the device and when you see the state of the building, you knew the two of you were fuc-
“no, no, no! oh, crap!” gwen took off while you were still processing the giant hole on the side of the building.
when you joined gwen she already had her scanner out and the room was lit in its orange glow, showing the outlines of how everything originally looked before the disaster.
with gwen distracted, she must not have heard the tiny noises, but you did. sometimes you think your ears are tuned just a bit higher than the average spidey person. doing a slow one-eighty on your heel, bare eyes squinted into the small space trying to find a source.
“y/n.” you jumped when a hologram of jessica popped up. you looked to gwen and she was telling you with her wide eyes, ‘end the call’.
“hi- hi, jess. how’s hq?” she had a bored look. “fine. what about the anomaly?”
“yep, yep. everything’s fine just getting some loose ends done. okay, talk later.” ended the call before she could ask more questions. you know she’ll be upset with you later.
gwen continued to rewind the scene before the two of you. the spot talking to himself about how he needs more spots or something. he was building a machine and then something happened, which caused the explosion.
“we’re so screwed.” gwen groaned.
now her watch beeped and she got a personal chat with jessica that was being straightforward with her. you were distracted once again, feeling like there was another person in the room. and you swear when you tilt your head just a little to the right…
“y/n,” gwen tapped your shoulder, “we gotta go. he’s moving.”
a portal opened, the bright multiple-colored wormhole shining through the dark and starless night. both of you looked through the opening. gwen stared straight at the skyline where you were sure that you could see an outline upside down.
“goodbye, miles.” gwen whispered. you could tell how much she wished to stay longer or have him join, but that was dangerous.
she walked into the vibrant colors and you stayed back for a moment longer. you stretched a hand out, eyes trying to follow the faint glimmer. when you heard an intake of breath, you knew then. you dropped your hand and took two steps back.
mask in hand, eyes still focused on the spot. “be safe, spider-man.” mask pulled over your face and you ran forward to complete your mission.

Miles and Gwen really went from nearly admitting they’re in love, talking about how Gwen is destined to fall for Spider-Man ("but it doesn’t end well"), nearly holding hands and Miles being all “First time for everything right?” *nudge nudge* Gwen smiles and leans against him, few hours later they meet Pavitr who outright goes ohh Miles is in loove and they’re both like ahdgshsh we’re not in love ha-ha who told you that like come on you dorks, which is it 😭

im of the opinion that miles and gwen should stay platonic (wow!!!! so revolutionary!!!!)
i think ghostflower is cool and all but to me it always seems like it's miles' silly lil "omg she's so cool" half-crush and gwen is just there? it never really feels like a whole and complete relationship (but all the art is cute)
to me i feel like miles and gwen could have a super strong 4lifers kind of friendship? like the kind where you grow up together and literally do everything together and have sleepovers n crap and it's not weird because you're comfortable w each other in a non-romantic way
EXCEPT they haven't had the chance to do that because they are (quite literally) universes apart and don't see each other often enough to build that sort of deep long-term connection
and also i did a lil enneagram analysis and they're both type 6 so ... co-dependency is etched into my brain lawl
that's it ! totes valid if gwiles is ur thing

There’s a difference between Miles 1610 and Miles 42… at it is that OG Miles will call you pet names, compliment, and sweet talk you in Spanish. Miles 42 only speaks to you in Espaniol if you guys are arguing.

Quick and simple Spider-Verse piece. Just got the random urge to draw these two but I like how it came together.
