TGIF! What a week it's been. This may be a TMI post but we're all friends here right? 😅

I went in for the colposcopy (reminder, this is for the cervix, not a colonoscopy) on Wednesday. My PCP said this was precautionary but I was still pretty nervous for the procedure. Imagine my shock when the OBGYN was talking to me before and said the cells they found were more on the side of concerning and this was an "absolutely need to do further testing" scenario. Not just "let's be extra cautious". I completely broke down in that poor woman's exam room. After coming off the breast scare, her throwing around the word cancer again was too much for me. I cried for a good 10 mins while she talked me through everything. I explained what had been going on recently and apologized for being such a mess. She totally understood and was great considering this was the first time we met lol. Anyways, she said that she definitely wanted to do biopsies which I was hoping wouldn't be needed but I trusted her judgement and let her proceed with the procedure. She took 3 total, and it was definitely not a pleasant experience. The last one sucked the worst. I took ibuprofen before the appointment just in case and I'm glad I did. Luckily it was over pretty quick but I had quite a bit of bleeding (duh - she basically hole punched my cervix 3 times) so she had to use extra of the solution that is supposed to stop the bleeding and lemme tell you. It's gross. It looks like coffee grounds coming out and I'm still dealing with it 2 days later. I was pretty sore the night of but haven't had much pain after that. It's more just annoying. It's also annoying because she said the results take about a week. If they come back a level 1 or lower we will just continue to monitor with yearly paps, but if they are higher than that she is going to recommend a LEEP. You can Google that if you want to know what I'm in for 🙃 all the research I did before said most places do it in the office but she said they are not equipped for that and it would be done in an outpatient surgery room and I would be put under general anesthesia. I am hoping soooo hard that my results come back good but a week is a long time to wait!!! I am so over this year.

On top of that, I found out I'm going to be traveling to CA multiple times this summer for work. I knew one trip was very likely but was not prepared for probably having to go once a month. It's going to be a great career opportunity so I'm not going to pass it up but I am not stoked about being away from my guys so much. I'm not in a great place with my MIL either right now and she's the best equipped to help us out while I'm gone because she's retired. So we will see how that plays out...

It's a lot going on right now. I just really need some good news back from the doctor and then I feel like I can fully focus on getting our summer planned and setting us up for success since things are going to get pretty crazy I'm sure.

my highschool. while the standards and brutality in india and canada, americas standards were also built on your looks and social standing at the school. it would normally be amazing to be really smart in other places. but im larger than usual, i have lots of a trauma, i dont talk, and im a very big introvert. add that to me being smart? i’m the biggest fucking nerd in the school (and nerd in the bad way)🧍‍♀️

(very vent-ish) january 30th, 8:41 pm. this one didn’t take much thought, bc i still regret it today and think about it all the time. someone i love texted me that day, and i gave them a terribly dry response because i was stupid and caught up in my own feelings. i texted them about an hour later. they were having a panic attack, and i wasn’t there for them. i wish i could go back and comfort them instead of brushing them off.

06.14.24 - TGIF! Looking forward to a very nice weekend spending time with my hunny in the sun - before a heat wave moves in next week and paralyzes everyone with extreme temperatures.

Work - Well I am at home and I am waiting on a call from the court about whether or not they'll be the ones to set up a web room for an inmate to join a conference remotely or not - the answer to that determines my next moves. I don't think I have much else to do though.

Yesterday I once again ended up putting a trial binder together that filled a like 2.5" 3-ringer. Lots of printing and hole-punching; I think I'm going to need to buy one of those for my cubicle.

Background Noise - I am at home so I am doing the DVR mostly as background noise. I have an idea of what I want to do with YT over the weekend so hopefully I'll keep up my good work there.

I did like nine videos yesterday, at least half of which were longer 30+ min videos and I'm pretty much done with those and moving on to the 40+ minute videos.

Study - Well Friday and the weekend is for reading Wikipedia so I hope to knock off a lot of pages in my downtime.

Yesterday stunk I read like 18 articles and nothing else because I got busy running around with that trial binder.

Extras - Friday means I clean out the catbox and prep it for the weekend; I'm doing a lovely tuna pasta salad for dinner that will be perfect for the weather. I have too much Kamen Rider Build to watch along with The Tick plus I want to watch a movie with hunny at some point over the weekend (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian). I did a good mini-essay today, but I don't know if I'll write over the weekend; I still wanna play on my Switch.

It was time for Literature, I was sitting by Kitty when she fell asleep. “Kitty! Wake up.” I whispered. “Huh? Did something happened.” “No, but are you okay?” “No, but I’ll tell you after class, promise.” “Alright.”

“So, what’s going on?” I asked. “My new roommate sucks, she’s always gaming, and I can’t sleep or study.” “Oh my, that sucks. let’s go talk with Professor Finnerty.” “Professor Finnerty?” Kitty asked.

“Hi Kitty and Andrea. What the problem?” He asked. “Please you have to help me” Kitty pleads. “I understand that the living situation may be a little bit difficult.” “Professor Finnerty, have you ever seen a Jenga Tower of pizza boxes? Have you ever smelled a Jenga tower of pizza boxes?” Kitty asked. “Actually-“ He says before he’s cut of. “You’re our resident advisor. Isn’t there anything you can do?” Kitty asked. “Sorry, Kitty, but the girls’ dorm is full.” “I can’t sleep. I can’t study. I can’t get the mozzarella out of the carpet. And I’m gonna fail all of my classes.” Kitty says. “There’s always the library. I believe you can make it work. You’ve already survived your first week of junior year.” The school bell rings. “ I’m here if you need me. And let’s look on the bright side. This whole living situation, it could be a lot worse.” “How?” Kitty asked. “Could be blue cheese.”

TIME SKIP: AFTER SCHOOL

As Kitty, Q, and I were watching a Korean film, “I dont know.” Kitty said. “It’s a lot of bulging eyes and rotting flesh.” I said. “Drea, what? This is a classic” Q said. “You know who you should be watching this with?” Kitty asked. “Florian.” We both said. “You guys are vibing!” “I don’t know. I mean, I’ve been with plenty of guys before… but I’ve never liked anyone this much. It’s making me nervous.” Q said. “I have an idea. What if we got a group together tomorrow for a binge party?” I said. “We can invite Florian, he’ll love and get hooked on the show, and you, and start watching more episodes, with fewer people, at night time.” Kitty said. “Just take it at one step at a time.” “Yea. Right. Like how you flew across the world for Dae without telling him.” Q said. “Hey, if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have met you.” Kitty said. “Yea, same.” I said. “Plus we wouldn’t have discovered that we have a half-sibling somewhere in Korea.” “You got me there.” Q said. “ What sucks is that I can’t tell Dae anyone of this, because Yuri is always around. I miss my bestfriend.” Kitty said. “Excuse you?” I said jokingly. “After you, you’ll always be my bestfriend.” Kitty said. “Well, I might know one place Dae will be that Yuri definitely wont.” Q said. “Nature. That girl is not outdoorsy, and you guys are talking to the president of KISS’s outdoors club. First hike is tomorrow.”

“All right people, welcome to KISS’s outdoors club. First rule of Outdoor, please talk about Outdoors Club. That would be quite, no very helpful because we did lose a few members this summer. All right, let’s get started with some stretches.” Q said. I saw Dae come up to talk to Kitty, so I gave them space. Then Yuri came. How many more people are gonna magically come? Then I heard the one voice i never wanna hear. “All right, who’s ready to go on a hike?”

MINHO’S POV

“All right, who’s ready to go on a hike?” I asked. “Min Ho! What are you doing here?” Dae asked. “What!? I can’t hang out with my best friends?” I said. And I also happened to see Andrea. Those gorgeous golden-brown eyes are just so… Wait why an I thinking about her. “Min ho?” Andrea asked. “What?” “Why are even here? I thought Minnie Mouse doesn’t hike?” “Just shut up, Pup.” “Whatever.” “Make sure you guys stay hydrated. I hope you guys used the bathrooms because there are none.” Q said.

ANDREA(Y/N’s) POV

“Andrea.” Min ho said. “What?” “Stop for a second, your shoes are untied.” Minho ties my lace as he said that. “I could have perfectly tied themselves, but thank you.” I said running to catch up to Kitty. But the smirk he gave was so cute, wait… am I think about MIN HO? Gosh, someone help me. I was able to catch up to Kitty at-least. But she was in a race with Yuri. “KITTY WATCH UP.” I yelled. I have never ran as fast I as did, but I beat them somehow. “ I won, you guys both suck.” I said. When Kitty,Dae , and Yuri were up that, Kitty had taken a photo of Yuri and Dae. “Kitty! The baby bracelet has the same symbol as the one in the photo. Come on, let’s go!” I said as me and Kitty ran to the hospital.

As Kitty and I ran through the crowd of people to the hospital, we finally made it. “Hello.” The receptionist said.” “Hello. We’re looking for a information on somebody who was a patient here.” I said. “A current patient?” “No. In 1993.” “Sorry, all past records are strictly confidential.” “Okay, thank you.” I said bowing. “Kitty, all past records are strictly confidential.” I said whispering “Wait what? Really? Wait, I have a good idea.”

As we brought flowers to the maternity ward to cover our faces, Their was a women who had a pass to get into the record room. I had a great idea. “Excuse me ma’am. These flowers are from him.” I said. “Oh, my he likes me!” The women said. “Come on, Kitty.” I whispered. “Let’s go.”

As we sneaked into the records room, Kitty got to the computer, it was in korean. “Let it to me Kitty.” I said. “Found it!” I said. I searches up Eve Song. “Oh my gosh.” I said. “ We have a brother.” “Oh shoot the door opened. “Security!” A man said as security guards came running in. “Do we get a phone call?” Kitty said. Oh my gosh, Kitty.

When we got out, “Thank you so much for saving us at the hospital.” I said. “What were you guys even doing in there.” Professor Finnerty asked. “It’s a ling story.” Kitty said. “Well lucky I was there to sweet-talk the guards.” “Yes, but your Korean could work a bit.” I said. “And, your Korean was almost bad as mine.” Kitty said. “Hey, don’t judge. You’ve had a head start.” “A head start?” Kitty asked. “Well, one of your parents is Korean, right?” He asked. “Mine are both white.” “Really?” I asked. “Yeah, I’m adopted.” “Oh” Kitty said. “Cool.” “Yeah, it is pretty cool. I was adopted by some amazing people.” He said. “Have you every met your birth parents?” I asked. “No.” “ Are you curious? I feel like I would be curious .”I said. “ You certainly are very curious person.” “Have you always known you were adopted?” Kitty asked. “Uh, yeah. It was kind of obvious.” “Right. Duh.” Kitty said. “Do you ever see people on the street and think,like, “Oh my gosh, that person has the same shapes ears as me, maybe they’re my mom, or they could be my dad, or we could have the same ear shape?” I said. “We kinda do, huh.” “You ask a lot of questions, and I’m not an ear expert.” “Wait, Kitty, he was adopted my Australians.” I said. “Adopted by Australians. Twenty-nine-ish. When’s your birthday?” Kitty asked. “I think it’s gonna rain soon. Uh, we should hurry. I think the subway’s this way, Yup.” He said “Okay,” I said. “I think we found out who our half-brother could be.”

“Is Q here? I have 8 minutes until curfew.” Kitty said. “Yeah, in his room.” Okay, thanks, come on Drea.” Kitty said. “All right.” “Come in, “Q said. “And when were at the the hospital, look at we found.” I said as Kitty was showing him a photo. “Adopted by Australian parents, just like Professor Finnerty, and born around the same time.” Kitty said. “ He could totally be our half- brother.” I said. “Okay, what?” Q said. “ The facts add up.” Kitty said. “ I don’t you guys, This could be a huge coincidence. I mean, a lot it Korean Kids are adopted by Australians.” Q said. “But why else would he be at KISS? He probably looking for answers ” I said. “Answers we can find together as brother and sisters.” “Whoa. I think you need a little bit more bit evidence. I mean you guys will be dropping a lot of information on him, including the fact that his birth mom is, well not alive. “Yea, you may be right. But I just get the feeling that our mom kept the bracelet for a reason. I think she wanted to find the baby one day.” Kitty said.

As Min ho and Dae knocked on the door, “We need to show you something.” Dae said. “What?” I thought. “What?” Kitty said. “What the fuck is this?” I asked. “My roommate put on some weird website as I was sleeping?” Kitty said. “My gosh.” “I don’t see the appeal.” Min ho said. “Yea, totally as if you weren’t the one to call Campus Police.” I said in my head. “Yet, you found the site.” Q said. “Kitty, you should move.” Dae said. “You can’t live with that girl anymore.” “ Yea, I kind of agree with Dae. This is kind of sketchy.” Q said. “ I tries to move, but there are no other rooms available.” Kitty said. “Uhh, how about a hotel? My driver could take you right now,” Min ho said. “Cant afford that for an entire semester.” Kitty said. “I sure Dae could hook you up with a discount at Hans Hotel.” Min ho said. “Shut up Min ho.” Kitty said. “Move back in with us!” I said. “What! No, I called Campus Police for a reason.” Min ho said. “Whatever.” I replied. “Yea that could work.” Dae and Q said. “She can bunk with Drea and I, and Dae and Min ho will bunk.” Q said. “Yea!” I said. “Let the moving begin tomorrow!”

Honorable Mentions

Three posts simply were not enough for last week, but alas, I am only one person and my attention span is only so long (ADHD kicks my ass on the daily, but we soldier on through the obsessive minutes of productivity and the hours long spells of procrastination). That’s all to say, I’d love to rapid fire through a few thoughts before tomorrow’s drops because it’s going to be a doozy this week. Jaguar II, Yours Truly Deluxe, Miley, and if I’m feeling generous, I might even give Aubrey a listen. Let’s hop in >>>

Better Things – Aespa: I personally like this sound on Aespa. It fits their voices well; they shine the most when they can flex their vocal technique. It’s clean and the video reflects the brightness. Now, does it suffer from the SM Ent. trademark tone shift and break*? Absolutely. But as per usual, once you get past the first listen and you expect it, it’s not as jarring, [*I’ll go into more depth about this in a different post but iykyk]

HOT TO GO! – Chappell Roan: This blurb is more of an excuse to celebrate the fact that an album is finally coming for the Pink Pony Club. For all of the girls, gays, and theys, if you’re not on Chappell, don’t walk, RUN. After a string of clever, charming, and just damn catchy singles, she’s finally announced her debut album. HTG! Is just as fun and poppy as the rest boasting a chant along chorus that is impossible not to join in. This is a win for people who a) are hot, b) love pink, and c) are kind of annoying, but did I mention the hot part? Go listen. 

Rainy Days – V: I’ve touched on this a little, but I’m just so charmed by V as an artist. I think there’s a clear vision here and it’s a little melancholy, but so warm it feels like the sadness is immediately being nursed by the most comforting hug. Some solo stans are upset about the general reception or lack thereof, but I think we’ve got to look at a few key factors here– Taehyung is doing the promo he wants. He’s mentioned that the company would do more, but he just wants to take the simple route, which I believe is indicative of the genre. Point blank period, R&B does not get the same reception as Pop songs. It’s just the nature of the beast. As I’ve mentioned, some songs are formulated to be radio smashes and they absolutely kill because that’s what they’re designed to do. V is making the music he wants knowing that there’s going to be a muted response and he’s cultivating a space for that. You either rock with it, or you don’t. I for one cannot wait to be cozy listening to this album in the fall. Which brings me to my one grievance: this is not the music to release (even pre-release) in Summer. Pumpkin spice lattes aren’t even available yet, and we’re looking for rainy days. In Min Hee Jin  we trust (I know a lot of people have issues with her, and I probably will never go out of my way to speak about NwJns because some of them are minors and I do not wish to engage minors, but you cannot deny that she curated a great second mini album for them that will transition from Summer to Fall seamlessly) and I know this album is going to be very well produced and he doesn’t necessarily have a ton of say in when he is able to release for various reasons, but I do wish the winter bear was able to reclaim his season. 

New Dance– XG: This one is kind of cheating timeline wise, but I don’t have a ton of thoughts. The song is a well produced homage to the early 2000s hip hop we all (hopefully) know and love. The easy acoustic rhythm and well handled rap verses are easy listening at its finest. I wish this was the follow-up to ‘Grl Gang’ instead of ‘TGIF’ so that it could’ve been released a little earlier in the Summer (I guess I’m not getting over this season thing, but I really think it makes the difference.) There’s a lot of potential here, maybe even another 2000s legend collab could’ve happened earlier in the Summer. Tap Nelly to give you a verse a la ‘Ride With Me’ which this song clearly calls back to. It works for XG to draw on nostalgia to draw in their audience.  Once you’ve got the eyes, experiment on the album which isn’t coming for a while yet.

Unreal Unearth – Hozier: When the woodland fairy king comes a callin’, I answer. There are some bangers on this one. 

AR - EP – Addison Rae: I only listened to the Charli XCX feature because of course, but I’m a little intrigued to listen to it? From what I can tell, the gays have claimed Ms. Addison, which I’m not fully sold on, but I can’t say the marketing isn’t there. Might listen for science. 

[TBR] Snow Angel – Renee Rapp: I like her as a person, therefore I need to give this the time of day before I listen to Addison. I’m always going to favor queer representation over a cosign.
