Si Alicia Faubel naman!

She may be pure Spanish, but Miss Universe Spain 2022 Alicia Faubel speaks conversational Filipino better than most of the halfies who travel to the Philippines in pursuit of either a pageant victory or showbiz career. And you can easily feel her love for the country after having lived here for three years during her late teens. Now that Alicia is training under Pinoy experts and will wear…

"Fuck!" you said feeling the warm liquid run down your legs. "No, no, no." You were staying over at her parents' house. Tomorrow would be the final match at the 2023 world cup and you would be gathered to watch the game there.
"Jo! We need to go, my water just broke!" you said grabbing her mother's attention. Her dad had gone to Australia to support her, but her mom refused leaving you, pregnant and alone. And you thanked the universe. You were 36 weeks, you were to give birth only next month. You had been feeling small contractions, that were apparently normal in the third trimester.
That was the only reason Georgia agreed to go.
A million thoughts went through your mind. Would the baby be okay? Would they have to do a C-section?
Would your fiancé be okay, knowing she missed the moment se was waiting so excited for? Were you even ready for this?
You started to cry immediately.
"Don't worry love, I'm calling her as soon as you're in the hospital."
"No please! You can't! You know her!" you said followed by a scream when you felt the sharp pain of a contraction hit you. "Please, please wait as much as we can. This is important for her, she needs to be a hundred percent focused."
"But seeing her daughter's birth is too..."
"I know but even if she knows, she'll won't get here in time. Please."
She only nodded agreeing with you. And you asked her to call your parents instead.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
While you walked around the room, preparing yourself for the ride ahead, in attempt to stay sound, you thought about what had led you here.
You and Georgia had been together for almost six years.
You had met at Man City, both came from a small town and were around the same age, sharing the dream to become big players.
You started dating, and your relationship went through a lot.
You endured for years a long distance relationship, when you moved away to play in Spain and she stayed back in Manchester.
A couple of seasons later you transferred to Bayern, where your girlfriend soon followed suit.
And you both finally managed to start your life together.
She didn't want to wait any longer, all that time had been enough.
From living together to her proposing, life felt like pure bliss.
And after the 2022 euro's title, you felt like it was the right time to have a pause on your career.
It wasn't an easy decision, since the World Cup was around the corner.
But differently from your teammates, you now had a bigger dream, Georgia fully supported you, she herself had always wanted to be a mother.
You didn't expect for it to work so soon.
Along with the risks the doctors had told you, it could take more than one try.
Fortunately the whole pregnancy had been very healthy, and nothing gave you any reason to think something like this could happen.
You questioned yourself if you were doing the right thing, by not updating her on the matter.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
Georgia's head was buzzing, Spain was winning by a goal. England had slightly recovered at the end of first half, but it wasn't enough.
She sat on the locker room, trying to cool down, zoning out a bit. All she could think of was winning this, to come home as a champion. For her girls.
She could have never imagined you had been in the hospital for the last couple of hours, let alone giving birth. So she didn't bother to look for her phone.
And before she knew, she was walking back to the field for the second half.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
"Just one more push, yeah?"
And you did as a loud cry filled the room. And they placed her right on your chest.
You felt like you could pass out from how tired you were.
But you couldn't, yet.
"You did great darling." her mom cooed you in between tears.
"Is the game over yet?"
"Yes, they won second place." she handed your phone over.
You cried hard a the sound of that. She had been deprived of being champion and seeing her daughter's first moments in the same day, at the same time. You tried to recompose yourself while you pressed to facetime her.
ongoing call...
"Hey love, what took you so lon-" she managed to get out before shutting up at the realization. A big smile appearing in her tear stained face. "She's beautiful."
before she could say anything else, Lucy, who was prying at the video call, loudly announced to everyone.
"The baby is here!" and you could hear the girls cheering loudly. Running to try and congratulate you.
"You guys are so loud, geez." your soon to be wife said after a few moments, walking to a more private place, so you both could talk.
"I am so sorry." you said eyes filled with tears.
"We couldn't have known." she said giving you a reassuring smile. "I was going to show you this baby here," showing her silver medal at the camera. "But it seems like you're already holding our baby right there."
And for over ten minutes you two sat quietly, just admiring the angel you had brought into the world.
"Is she okay? I mean she clearly looks like it, but since she's early..."
"Better than expected actually. They said she's around 6.30 lbs and over 19 inches. Pretty big for a preterm. They'll run some tests in the morning, just to be sure." you said letting out a yawn.
"You need to get some sleep. And I'm getting on the first plane home."
"I love you, and I'm so proud of you."
"Oh baby, I'm the one who's proud. I love you. Both of you."

Dr. Bronze
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi guys!
This is a small one with Ona and Lucy :) It comes from several request, so I hope you will like it!
Please enjoy ♥
TW : None
Tumblr media
She’s a doctor. It’s still funny for Lucy to say that, but she likes the idea, to be honest. She’s pretty honored and this distinction made her think back about the woman she was at that time. She was so far away to imagine where she would be more than ten years later.
Not here in the English Camp, looking at Tooney and Alessia giggling about something she doesn’t want to know. But here like having be able to live so many things with football. She has won the Women’s Euro in 2022 and almost won World Cup in 2023 with England. And she won almost everything with Barcelona those last past years too.
And she can say that she never has been so happy as she is right now. And not only because of football, even if she met the woman she loves deeply thanks to football and their mutual friends.
She sighs softly when she reads one more time Ona’s last message, saying how sorry she is for not being able to come to the ceremony in Leeds University. Lucy wasn’t expecting her to be able to come to be honest, Ona is with her national team somewhere in Spain, training for the Olympics.
She would have love to see her again though. She misses her girlfriend, like crazy. They had a long discussion in Cuba about Lucy’s future and their relationship when they learn that Barça hasn’t accepted Lucy’s wishes. They knew it would be difficult to be separate again, but it was only for several months until Lucy will finish her career and come back in Barcelona to Ona.
That’s their project. Lucy joked about opening a bar, but she really thinks she would love it now. She hasn’t talk about it to Ona, scared that the younger one will make fun of her.
Tumblr media
“Lucy, get your ass here right now or you will be late for fuck’s sake!”
Lucy groans when she hears her brother screaming in their parents’ house. It’s the day where she was supposed to received her distinction and she really needs to leave right now. But she really wanted to hear Ona’s voice before leaving and her girlfriend doesn’t seem to want to answer for now.
Lucy’s frowning when she comes down the stairs and when she goes in her brother’s car. Their parents’ left before them with Sophie, Lucy’s little sister, but the footballer can’t help and try to call Ona again.
“What the hell is she doing?” Lucy groans in a low voice.
“Maybe she’s tired of you. Maybe she realizes how easier it’s to live without you” Jorge teases her sister.
The slap he received after that echoes inside the car.
“Oy!”
“Shut up your face, will you?”
He rolls his eyes playfully, but Lucy’s reaction makes him realizes that maybe it isn’t the right place to joke. They never really talk about their respective feelings and love life to each other. But Jorge likes Ona, and he likes his sister with the Spaniard.
“Sorry if it was a bad choice for jokes” he says after a moment of silence.
Lucy groans for any answer, busy to write to Ona. She frowns again seeing that her messages are being delivered but not read.
“She’s not answering at anything” Lucy mumbles.
“I’m sur she’s fine, Luce. Maybe she has some tactical class or something?”
“Yeah. Maybe.”
She’s not scared anymore like she was last year when Ona wasn’t answering her phone quickly. It happened from time to time for Vilda being the reason of Ona’s silence. Vilda isn’t here anymore, and things got a little better since, even if it’s not the best conditions. But it’s the evening and they usually are free.
Jorge looks at his sister, briefly leaving the road with his eyes.
“You are going to be alright; you know? Ona and you.”
“How can you know?” Lucy asks after a moment of hesitation.
“I just know. That girl is really in love with you, and I can say you are too. It’s different from your other relationship, I can say it. And everyone who knows you can say it, you are like two parts of the same orange. It’s like all the things who could separate you aren’t and make you both even stronger.”
Lucy stays silence several seconds, really touched by her brother’s words. She’s sure that Ona is the love of her life, but she’s not sure that she’s Ona’s one. She will probably never be, never taking the girl for granted.
“It’s going to be so hard to be away from her” Lucy points softly.
“I never said it will be easy. But you will survive this.”
Lucy smiles for real this time. She never thought that Jorge’s words would one day make her feel better about her love life and her choices.
Ona still hasn’t answer to her when she faces the outfit she’s supposed to wear for the ceremony.
She would have love to see Ona sitting next to her mother in the crowd, but she’s not mad or even disappointed. Just a little bit sad to have a reminder of what their life will be for now. She will miss having Ona dead asleep next to her every morning when they were supposed to gets up for training. Or a koala-Ona begging her not to leave the bed.
After her speech, she got lost a little bit in her thoughts, but managed to smile at the right time and give right answers to what is addressed to her. They talk to some people around them for several times before Lucy’s father grab her arm.
“Come on, let’s go to the restaurant now” mumble Lucy’s father, probably tired of all this protocol.
Lucy smiles when Jorge snorts and follow her family, taking a look at her phone again. She got several notifications, but still nothing from Ona and she’s writing to Mariona when they pass the doors of the building.
“Hola, Doctor Bronze.”
Lucy almost misses a stair step. She knows that voice by heart and would be able to recognize it between thousands of other voices. But that voice isn’t supposed to be here, she’s supposed to be training in Spain.
But when she raises her eyes, Ona is really in front of her. With her freckles, her chocolate doe eyes and a slight cocky smile.
Lucy doesn’t speak, she breaks the distance to Ona in three great steps, before taking the youngest girl in her arms, in an embrace probably able to break her two or three ribs. But Ona doesn’t complain, in fact she puts her arms around Lucy’s shoulders and hide her face in her neck.
“You are here” Lucy whispers in Ona’s hair, making the Spaniard smiles.
“Of course I am” she whispers back.
“Don’t break your opponent’s back, Luce” Jorge shout from afar.
They both can hear Diane shoving Jorge and the others away, making the couple smile again.
“How are you here?” Lucy asks, looking at her girlfriend.
“Your parents came to take me from the airport. I explained to Tome what was happening, and she said I can come” Ona explains softly, stroking Lucy’s face with her fingers. “It’s just today and tomorrow though.”
“I take it” Lucy smiles.
And now that her family is gone, she puts her lips on Ona’s. She can feel her smile under her lips and she kind of regrets not to be alone with Ona to deepen the kiss.
“So, this is where you studied?” Ona asks, looking around.
Lucy hums, unable to stop looking at Ona. She got a tan from her training in Spain, and she definitively has more freckles. Lucy resists to the envy to kiss every single one of them, choosing to kiss her jaw instead.
“You want me to show you around?”
“Mh deepens. Will there be secret places where you took other girls to kiss?”
“No” Lucy laughs. “Come on.”
Without any hesitation, Ona takes the hand Lucy is reaching out, interlacing their fingers. Like she proposed, Lucy shows the places where she studied, even if she took a lot of classes online too, to be honest. But she likes to have her girlfriend for herself before actually going to the restaurant with her family.
They managed not to cross the path of a lot of people. They know that there is people around and probably photographers. Everyone has a smartphone to take a picture now anyway.
“Oh. There is one more place I want to show you” Lucy says while they were going back to the car. “Come.”
Ona happily follows her girlfriend, not letting her hand go a single second. Lucy turns behind an old building before stopping suddenly. Ona doesn’t really understand what happened, but soon she’s trapped between a wall and her girlfriend, who is smirking at her.
“Now, I have a place here where I kissed a girl on this campus.”
Tumblr media
The rest of the night went well. They finally went to the restaurant where Lucy’s family was waiting for them and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and even if they were with the others Bronze, Lucy never let Ona’s hand go. She played with her fingers during all the time they were sitting. Ona always got along pretty great with the others Bronze, much to her relief. Lucy didn’t have the least concern about it.
Then they finally went to the hotel where Ona took a room, happy to finally be alone. They couldn’t keep their hands away from each other as soon as Ona closes the door behind them.
After several hours and a long shower taking together, they are in bed, facing each other. Their legs are interlinked, and Lucy is stroking Ona’s hip while looking at her.
“I love you so much” Lucy says softly. “I can explain how happy I am to have you here.”
“I love you too. And my girlfriend is a Doctor, I couldn’t miss that, right? Doctor Bronze” Ona teases.
“Why is it so hot when you say it?”
Ona laughs this time and Lucy can only smiles, loving to hear that sound. Ona rolls on her back to stretch, but it’s not Lucy’s taste to see her walk away from her, even if it’s only a few centimeters. She passes her arms around Ona’s body to drag her against her.
“What if I sequester you and I take you to a secret place known only to me?”
“Would you stay with me?”
“Of course”
Ona smiles hearing Lucy’s evidence in her tone.
“Then it wouldn’t be a kidnapping, because I’d be entirely consenting.”
Lucy hums, passing one leg on both of Ona and hide her face in Ona’s neck. She misses her smell too. Lucy’s breath makes the younger shiver, but Ona doesn’t move, only playing with Lucy’s hair.
“What are you thinking about?” Ona asks, realizing that Lucy’s eyes are wide open.
“Barcelona” Lucy mumbles. “The places I love, the places we went together and the one I want to go the next time I’m back.”
“What’s your favorite place?” Ona asks curiously.
“Our home.”
It’s sappy, but Ona loves it. She passes her arms around Lucy to feel her better against her.
“You know how we talk about me coming back to Barcelona at the end of my career?” Lucy asks.
“Yeah?”
Ona’s voice is as calm as possible, but she can’t help but be scared that Lucy already change her mind. England is where she grew up, where her family is. It would be almost normal to want to come back here. Just like she herself wanted to go back to Barcelona.
“We never really talked about what I would do at this time.”
“What would you like to do?”
Ona watch as Lucy rolls on her stomach, so almost completely lying on Ona. But the English Woman just wants to be able to see Ona’s face.
“I know it was just a joke with Mapi in the beginning, but I think I would love to have my own bar. Just somewhere where people can come to drink something and watch sport on TV.”
Lucy is looking at Ona with a lot of attention, almost waiting for the Spaniard to laugh at her face. But Ona never does it, instead she looks thoughtfully at her girlfriend.
“If that’s what makes you happy Luce, just do it” Ona smiles softly.
“You make me happy.”
Ona rolls her eyes with a smile but happily let Lucy kiss her lovingly. The Spaniard missed her girlfriend as much as Lucy missed her. It wasn’t easy for her to let Lucy go in London, but her girlfriend’s happiness is what she cherishes the most.
“But during Barca Femeni’s and Spain women’s games, I’ll have to close the place to come watch you play” Lucy adds soon after.
“Will you wear my jersey?” Ona ask with a smile.
“Mh… Maybe”
“Hot” smirks Ona.
Lucy laughs softly, letting her finger run on Ona’s face. She seems to have more in mind, but Ona knows better than push her to know what’s going on in her mind. Just when she turns her face to kiss Lucy’s wrist, the latter talk again.
“Maybe our children will wear it too?”
“What, a Spanish jersey or a Batlle one?” Ona smirks.
They talked already about having children together, but not really about what team they could play. if they want to play, of course. Lucy is surprised by Ona question, she never thought about it to be honest. But if they stick to their plans, they will be living in Barcelona, so it will be logical for them to play for Spain.
“We will let them chose” Lucy answers wisely.
“Sure, Dr. Bronze” Ona chuckles.

While I'm not sad that an industry that exploits women is filing for bankruptcy I am pissed that a lot media will identify the new owner of the franchise as a woman and feed into negative stereotypes about women and money.
A 2022 Miss Universe judge is revealing why the organizer behind the event has filed for bankruptcy just days before the next main event.
"I think the outrage about a trans woman coming to Miss Universe and preaching, 'Bring the power back to women,' couldn't be more of an oxymoron," television host and reporter Emily Austin said Thursday on "Varney & Co."
"I think her company in Thailand has its own financial issues," she continued, "but socially and morally it's just wrong. And people are starting to catch on that."
Thai business tycoon and transgender activist Anne Jakrajutatip of the JKN Global Group bought the Miss Universe organization for $20 million in 2022. Jakrajutatip, who has international fame as a transgender celebrity, described the purchase at the time as "a strong, strategic addition to our portfolio."
But one year later, the franchise itself appears unstable
Tumblr media
2022 Miss Universe judge Emily Austin, right, said on "Varney & Co." that the event organizer's bankruptcy was "absolutely" caused by the transgender owner's "socially and morally" wrong controversy. (Fox News)
A public document sent to the Stock Exchange of Thailand from JKN Global Group declared "JKN Global Group Public Company Limited (the ‘Company’) has filed a petition for business rehabilitation with the Central Bankruptcy Court under the Bankruptcy Act B.E. 2483 (1940) (as amended) (the ‘Bankruptcy Act’) on November 8, 2023, the Central Bankruptcy Court has subsequently issued an order to accept the petition for business rehabilitation of the Company on November 9, 2023."
The Miss Universe Organization published a subsequent announcement declaring that due to "the current financial situation… we confirm that Miss Universe 2023 will be held in El Salvador on 18 November 2023, where a top notch experience provided to our fans will remain our top priorities." [sic]
For the first time, this year’s Miss Universe pageant is slated to feature at least two transgender contestants — Miss Portugal, a flight attendant named Marina Machete, and Rikkie Kollé, the first transgender Miss Netherlands. Spain’s Ángela Ponce was the pageant’s first trans contestant in 2018, but did not advance to the finals.
Austin argued Thursday her belief that transgender women should not be permitted to compete in the high-caliber pageant.
"If you want to empower women, the way to do it is not demeaning women and belittling women by allowing men, or biological men who became a woman, to come into an industry like sports, like beauty pageants, come all dolled-up plastic — [they're] beautiful men, by the way — and start dominating women's industries. That's the opposite of women's empowerment," Austin explained.
The 2022 judge added that many decisions are based around a contestant’s interview, and expressed how a transgender woman’s life experiences may not be comparable to a biological woman’s.
"The interview comes from your life story and how as a woman, you've evolved and you want to change the world. So if you grew up a man and you decided to become a woman, I don't think you have a true woman's, feminine story. You don't know what period cramps feel like, I'm sorry. You don't know what it's like to walk down a stage during that time of the month and really say: this is femininity," Austin said.
"You are a man who identifies as a woman, and that's fine," she added. "But don't start coming into women's industries — have a line, have a boundary. That's the problem."

Believe it or not, I'm very happy
Tumblr media
Long post ahead. Just wanna put all my thoughts here in one post.
Chronicling my reactions during the 71st Miss Universe pageant.
The opening number reflects the culture of New Orleans. I love it.
The introduction of judges got messed up—the cameras pan on the wrong people. I think they only got the first and last ones correct.
Olivia Culpo is more energetic now—I think it’s just because Jeannie Mai was her co-host.
Announcement of the Top 16
Puerto Rico – Of course. I expected this. 😊
Haiti – ABSOLUTE SHOCK 😱
Australia – she was in my radar. I included her as one of my alternates.
Dominican Republic – Called it.
Laos – A shock, but I felt it. Annie called me out on this when I posted my predictions and asked why I didn’t include her in my final predictions despite indicating many times during the preliminaries that I think she has a very pretty face. I was laughing when I chatted Annie saying that Laos made it.
South Africa – Expected it.
Portugal – GAAAH I was so happy with this. 😁
Canada – Nowhere near my radar. 🤯
Peru – I contemplated hard on whether or not I’d include her as one of my alternates—I picked Panama instead. BUT I did notice her.
Trinidad & Tobago – Didn’t like her at all, despite many pageant analysts see her as a dark horse.
Curaçao – YES! 😁
India – Many analysts were including her in their lists, primarily because of her speaking skills. I just felt her performance in the preliminaries was a bit middling.
*Commercial* At this point, I was already doubting that Philippines would be called. Only four countries are left, and I was thinking those spots would be for the USA, Philippines, Thailand and Mexico. 🙃
Venezuela – ALAS! Forgot about her earlier, but totally deserving.
Spain – GAAAH! A sentimental favorite of mine. I’m already in bittersweet emotions right then since the Philippines still hasn’t been called. 🥳
USA – MY frontrunner. OF COURSE. Upon her announcement, I chatted Annie, “Parang laglag na tayo ah” 🤩
Colombia – Expected this. But I don’t think she’d win.
Welp. That was it. I didn’t want to stop watching since my best bets were still there, and—including Laos (my uncalled favorite) and Australia (one of my alternates)—I got 11/16 of the semifinals.
None of those I put in the Lower Tier made it. I knew it. I KNEW IT. Also, none of those whom I had gut feels would make it didn’t either, which I guess is good?
After that, I said “Bohol should’ve won MUPh 2022.” Judging from the videos about the semifinalists, they all seem to have concrete advocacies, inspiring stories and something that makes them stand out aside from just being a pretty face. They are potential “transformational leaders.”
Celeste lacks this. She doesn’t have an advocacy that makes her unique. She doesn’t have anything rather than “being authentic” and “being relatable through my struggles.” Gurl, if that was what Voltaire told you to say, HE DESTROYED YOU. Everything that she says—although it all seems true and eloquently said—feels like lip service. More than half of the candidates have the same script.
Annie asked me where I think Celeste went wrong.
Judges at the prelims already know something about the girls. They start with the interview, don’t they? So before the candidates step out on the stage, the judges already know who to look out for. Odds are, they’d give high scores to the girls who they think deserve to be a semifinalist based on personality and credentials alone, as long as they don’t give a trashy performance.
If Celeste failed her interview, her only chance is to give the BEST performance on the prelims.
Unfortunately, Celeste gave a middling performance at the preliminaries. She wasn’t the best during swimsuit, but she did very well on evening gown—despite not having a very flashy dress. Regardless, she was still one of the standouts from those competitions.
At least half of the other girls who made it to the Top 16 were inferior to Celeste when it comes to stage presence. What was their edge? As I said, they have inspiring stories.
It has always been like this. Pia, Catriona, and the other queens in the IMG era… they all had stories to tell. The branding and the owner has changed, but the evolution has already started years ago. And the Trump era standards have already been downplayed for quite a while.
Which gets me back to my statement. Bohol should’ve won, based solely on the responses in the final question at Miss Universe Philippines. And she has done other things other than being just a model.
GOING BACK to Miss Universe.
Swimsuit Competition
Puerto Rico – YES, GURL! TAKE IT!
Haiti – Yow. That walk is why I didn’t expect her to be here.
Australia – Damn that ripped body. The way she walks feels so… harsh though.
Dominican Republic – Since Mexico is out, you’re in my Top 5.
Laos – Again. PRETTY FACE. It’s just. Ugh. What’s with the slow-mo walk and quick turn? That needs more practice. 🤨
South Africa – Beautiful performance. Not the best one, though.
Portugal – Yaaaay! She’s fighting! Loved her in Miss Earth 2018, still love her now. 🥰
Canada – Did she add another layer of cape? What’s with all the ending twirls? This isn’t Miss Grand. It’s poorly executed too. 🙃
Peru – See that? This is why I contemplated putting her in my list.
Trinidad & Tobago – Love pink on her skin. Love the fierceness she projects.
Curaçao – GAAAH! YES!
India – She has an amazing body and a good pasarela. Her cape really reflects the Indian culture.
Venezuela – Really good. She’s IN IT to WIN IT. Love the art on her cape.
Spain – Love seeing the painting on her cape. She did a good job. Many candidates are just better.
USA – YES! YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE OF THE FILIPINOS.
Colombia – It’s hard to keep up with USA after that performance.
My clear standouts are Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and USA—Curaçao close behind them.
Evening Gown Competition
I’m in love with the background music haha!
Puerto Rico – Didn’t change her gown. Why change when there's nothing wrong with it? I loved seeing her in that gown again.
Haiti – Better than her swimsuit performance, but still not there.
Australia – Didn’t like her styling. I wish she should’ve picked a gown that softened her image a little bit ‘coz I think her body’s just too in-shape. The performance was better than in the prelims, though.
Dominican Republic – I’m so happy she didn’t wear her rehearsal gown. This gown is immaculate. And her styling? I think I’m looking at a different woman from what I’ve seen during the preliminaries. 🤩
Laos – She used a nude-colored gown. It didn’t help her.
South Africa – After all the muted colors the came before her, THIS IS A GOOD CHANGE. I love the vibrant color. I love the design. I love the pocket, I don't think I've ever seen that in Miss Universe before.
Portugal – Love her, but… Another silver gown? It’s good… but… there’s a “but.” ☹️
Canada – I love her white gown with that feathery cape.
Peru – I love the sparkly silvery gown, probably better than her prelims gown. She’s good.
Trinidad & Tobago – The color of her gown reminds me of Ms. Trinidad & Tobago’s gown back in 2010.
Curaçao – Thank god for the lavender ombre at the bottom. Beautiful, still. However, I wish she had picked a different gown. This one doesn’t stand out amongst the others.
India – What’s with all the silver gowns???
Venezuela – *gasps* 🤯
Spain – Another mute-colored gown. It looks good on her, but I wish she walked with more confidence.
USA – *another gasp* like… I still haven’t recovered from my gasp at Venezuela’s gown, then here comes another one. But… RIAN FERNANDEZ made this, RIGHT???!!! *screams in silence 🥳
Colombia – Her preliminary gown was better.
My standouts for gown are USA, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico (in that order), Curaçao at fifth.
Combining the scores I’ve given to all candidates, my personal Top 5 are—from 1st to 5th—USA, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Curaçao.
Announcement of Top 5
Okay. I only have one constant reaction during the announcement. Venezuela was called first, then USA, and then others. One by one, my Top 5 is becoming a reality. I WAS SO HAPPY. I couldn’t contain myself. I was screaming.
These girls are also the ones who were at the top of my predictions. I got 4/5 of the finalists, and I ranked Dominican Republic at 6th. I was so close.
This same instance happened when I made my predictions for Miss Universe Philippines 2020—Rabiya Mateo’s year. I got 4/5 of the Top 5—Alaiza Malinao of Davao City didn’t make it—but I had Rabiya at 6th place.
Top 5 Q&A
After hearing all their answers, I thought USA and Dominican Republic were sure in the Top 3. And the last spot would be… Venezuela? I just thought Puerto Rico and Curaçao’s answers were too generic.
Announcement of Top 3
This was just a series of me chatting “I TOLD YOU SO.” to my friends, as my Top 3, once again, materialized into reality.
Top 3 Final Quesion
Dominican Republic – She answered too monotonously. She’s like a recorded audio. She’s my 2nd Runner-up
USA – I’ve never been so satisfied with an answer since Catriona’s final question back in 2018. USA’s gonna win.
Venezuela – Flowery words delivered with conviction, but lacks depth and context. She did not personalize her answer as much as she could. She did better than DR though.
At that point, I knew it was gonna be between USA and Venezuela—and I was leaning a lot more towards USA.
And who was the last two holding hands before the new Miss Universe was announced?
Eventually, Ms. USA was crowned as the new Miss Universe.
Yep. I should really consider becoming a pageant blogger.

An American college student who was reported missing last month while studying abroad in France is alive and in Spain, a French official and the student's family said Friday. Ken DeLand Jr. had last been heard from on Nov. 27, when he communicated with his family via WhatsApp.
Eric Vaillant, the public prosecutor in Grenoble, France, confirmed to CBS News that they learned "DeLand was able to speak with his parents today" and "he is apparently in Spain."
His father, Ken DeLand Sr., told CNN on Friday that he'd just spoken with his son.
"He is alive — that's all I can say," he told CNN.
The website created by his family to help publicize the search now says: "KENNY HAS BEEN FOUND. We will update with more information as we get it! THANK YOU to everyone for helping us bring Kenny home!"
A statement added later Friday morning says, "We are so happy to announce that Kenny is safe; we received a call from Kenny in the early morning hours on December 16, 2022. Kenny is in Spain, and Carol (his mom) is in France, preparing to see Kenny and hopefully bring him home for Christmas."
The family's statement also thanks the media for help to spreading the word and everyone who supported the search.
The public prosecutor told CBS News that the investigation into DeLand's disappearance is continuing.
DeLand's family previously said they had been in communication with authorities, and that he had been added to the French missing persons list.
DeLand is a student St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York. He had been and studying at the Université Grenoble Alpes for the fall semester of his senior year. His international studies were set to end on Dec. 17, and his visa allowing him to stay in France will expire on Jan. 20, 2023, his family said.
In a statement to CBS News, St. John Fisher University confirmed that DeLand was now in contact with his family.
"We are relieved by this news, and will continue to support Kenneth and his family in any way we can," the school said.
According to the family's website, DeLand had been staying with a host family in France. Before he dropped out of contact he had reportedly been traveling by train from his host family's residence to Valence, France, a city about 60 miles from the university, and was spotted in security footage in the town of Montemilar.
There had been no activity on DeLand's social media pages or WhatsApp account, but his WhatsApp had turned back on Friday.

MORE Results That The World Is Better For Trans People
The evidence is overwhelming, if you know where to look.
What evidence do I refer to? Evidence proving the world is getting better for transgender people. This time, evidence comes from the stage of a major US tradition: The Miss USA pageant.
Once again, a transgender woman competes in and wins a major pageant title. This time, it’s Maryland. Bailey Anne Kennedy, an Asian-American trans woman, walked down the stage and received her crown for becoming Miss Maryland 2024 this month. Her win represents a number of firsts.
According to news reports, this was her first pageant ever. It’s also the first time in the state that a trans woman won the title. It’s also the first time a woman over 28 won. Kennedy is 31. She’s also the first married woman to compete and win. Kennedy will next go on to compete in the Miss USA pageant in August.
What’s really astonishing about this wonderful milestone is it comes on the heels of another wonderful piece of news we shared back in August last year. Back then we shared news that a wealthy trans woman purchased several beauty pageants around the world. After taking ownership, she changed participant requirements in order to broaden the field of competitors. One of those pageants she owns is Miss USA.
So who is the new Miss Maryland USA? Let’s take a closer look.
Who is Bailey Anne Kennedy?
Kennedy is Cambodian American. She’s a military spouse, whose husband, according to her Instagram, is a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated both from tanker school and flight school, again, according to Kennedy’s Instagram. That’s two impressive accomplishments. It appears that Kennedy may work or volunteer at the USO as well, which may have been how she met her husband.
Kennedy, who is 31, broke several barriers in her pursuit of the Maryland title. First, her status as a trans woman, obviously. But that’s not a first. Well, it is for Maryland. But several trans women have won similar titles elsewhere.
She follows Marina Machete, who was the first trans woman to win the Miss Portugal title, Rikke Valerie Kolle, who won Miss Netherlands, Kataluna Enriquez became the first trans woman crowned Miss Nevada In 2021, and In 2018, a trans woman, Angela Ponce, competed for Spain in the Miss Universe pageant.
Why this is big
The reason this is big is because these competitions are judged by ordinary people from relevant industries.
Judges in 2022, for example, included Ashlee Clarke, an American businesswoman and producer, Soo Yeon Lee, a South Korean table tennis player and model, Kirk Myers an American fitness trainer, Olivia Ponton, an American model and social media influencer, Aaron Potts, an American fashion designer and Nicole Williams-English a Canadian fashion designer and model.
So trans women competing against and winning over cisgender women shows, to me anyway, growing acceptance that transgender women are women.
Additionally, a Miss USA title is just fluff. Winners travel the world as ambassadors. They promote charitable causes of their choosing. They also enjoy nearly unlimited opportunities as models and spokeswomen. All this means VISIBILITY. And visibility is a powerful social change agent.
So there’s a growing roster of trans women competing and winning in beauty pageants and those women are becoming more visible in the world. That’s a great thing.
Back to Kennedy
And even though trans women are making significant inroads here, Kennedy is more than that. As we said, she is the first woman to win a pageant title at her age (31) after pageant officials open the competition to anyone over 18. Before this change, only women under 28 could compete. Oh, she’s also married, which is another pageant first. That she’s married to an American military officer is another first.
Kennedy has high aspirations since winning. She wants to role model opportunity for other women and girls, trans women particularly, and advocate for veterans, which makes sense given that her husband is a Jarhead and she appears to work or volunteer for the USO.
Tumblr media
^^Kennedy her husband and their dogs (Instagram)
It’s happening and it’s all good
At least one news report included in their coverage a rolling tally of the number of trans women still facing violence and discrimination. We’re not going to do that here at The Transamorous Network. Instead, we want to focus on all the awesome evidence proving the world is improving for trans people.
Yeah, there’s some fear and insecurity causing people to act out against these wonderful people. But that’s not the majority of people, as we reported earlier. And while there are lots of people focused on what needs improvement, we take a different approach.
We know the more we focus on the positive, the more positively the world looks to us. We encourage trans women and those who love them to do the same. Because when we all do, our lives get better. And honestly, we can’t help anyone when our life sucks.
So let’s focus on the positive and celebrate yet another awesome milestone. A milestone proving once again that the world is getting better for trans people.

Research Post 8 - Cristina Fontsare
Cristina Fontsare, born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, developed her passion for photography from her early childhood. Studying in fine arts, she honed her skills in painting, sculpting, and photography and would go on to receive her BFA and an MLA from the University of Barcelona where her work has been exhibited all around the United States as well as apart of permanent collections in places like the Valdepeñas Museum, the Bilbao Art Foundation, and the Tenerife Island Center of Photography, which are all located throughout Spain as early as 2000. As she continued her work she would later self-publish two photography books, Night Years and Poems 22 Images. Currently living in Barcelona, she continues to work and create towards her solo shows.
Fontsare’s focus on surrealism in her artwork embodies a style of vibrant colors and intricate textures. Viewing some of her works, her “Journey to the Center of the Earth” work captures the concept of what is human experience through multi layering her scenes as a way to create visual exploration. That being said her aim in this work is to seek the main deity of Basque, Spain mythology who is described as living underground and so Fontsare set forth exploring ancient forests, caves, and mountains, taking pictures with her Polaroid along the way.
Her use of dynamic imagery the way it is altered came from her experimenting with applied household cleaners to her images, creating this sense of mythology through its dreamlike elements. To me her unique blend of abstraction and photo manipulation creates an immersive experience, almost feeling as if I could reach inside the image of the cave. Additionally, the way the photos are set up almost feels nostalgic too, similar to if I were looking through grandma’s old book of photos. It leaves my mind to imagination as other photos also portray missing pieces, seemingly like it was Fontsare’s intent for us to fill in those pieces with our own memories. That of which reminds me of the sixth grade when we went on a field trip to a place called Crystal Cave and we were able to take home a tiny quartz crystal, and I remember how mesmerized I was by the cave because the ceiling was covered with shimmering stalagmites of quarts.

Miss Universe Bolivia 2022 National Costume: Majestic Potosi
Potosí imperial villa is a city in South West Bolivia. It extends to the skirts of a legendary mountain called Cerro Rico where the largest silver mine in the world was located. From the Hill of Potosí, so much silver has been extracted, that it is said that with only a minimal part of what was extracted in the early decades of the Virreinal era, it could be raised and built a silver bridge; from Potosí, in America, to the same Spain in Europe. Miss Bolivia's typical outfit wears a CALCHA CULTURA embroidered cloak with 5000 silver coins, precious crystals and gold tops paying homage to the contribution Potosí had to the world. She also wears a silver-plated mining helmet and a condor that is the greatness of the Andes. On the inside of the mantle is the daughter of Wirakocha embroidered dress with over 100. 000 canutiles, sequins and gems

CHANNELETTES SKETCH DUMP
Context: This is for my idea of Channelettes, which are Antropomorphised TV Channels. Or TV Channels Gijinka.
I love Gijinka ever since I became fixated with OS-Tans when I was young. Gijinka, in my opinion, is a good creative exercise in giving human qualities and characterization on non-human things.
I'm planning more on this project. But for the moment, have this sketch dump.
The First Sketches
Tumblr media
Featuring early designs of ITV's Anglia, Southern Television and Channel Television. All being part of the United Kingdom's ITV Network.
While I did some ideas of TV Gijinka before, Adam Martyn's Ident Review Extra episode of the ITV Idents inspired the whole new Channelette Project, and with it, those first three designs.
The design for Anglia convinces me, while the others need more refining. Especially Southern Television. Although, Channel Television will be a catgirl, without doubt.
Deutsche Welle (Or DW-Lette)
Tumblr media
Made in May.
Sorry for the weird pose, I tend to do those. I don't know what's missing on DW-Lette's design.
RT-Lette
Tumblr media
Based on the State-Owned Russian channel.
(Before I did this drawing, I did some sketch with her and CGTN. But I'll not post it here, since it's kinda unintelligible)
She will be portraited as a selfish daddy's girl (The "daddy" being of course The Pudin, You-know-who) who uses the majority of the money given for her own benefict. She doesn't like the other Channelettes. And the other Channelettes doesn't trust her.
She's CLEARLY made for satire. (NO Russophobia allowed with the character!! Xenophobia will NOT be tolerated!)
TV3 Catalunya
Tumblr media
Based on TV3 of Catalunya, Spain.
The reason of me making this Channelette is because the 80s TV3 theme is so DAMN EPIC SOUNDING!!
I imagined a Gacha-Inspired animation of TV3-Lette with her flag-carrying spear. It was so cool, I HAD to draw her design.
I tried to draw her with a traditional Catalunya outfits. Making the flag was REALLY hard, though...
EARLY, PRE-CHANNELETTES IDEAS
(Note that NOT every design will be there. Because I sketched in different notebooks and I ended up missing some sketches)
1984 TVN Gijinka (or 1984 TVN-Lette?)
Tumblr media
Done in January 2023. Based on Chile's TVN logo from 1984 until 1988.
I LOVE this TVN logo, even if it was short-lived. I love it due to how beautiful and creative the idents are, with those two ribbons moving around. Really elegant idents, also.
I tried to make her design look so formal (Authoritarian? because ya know, dictatorship)
She needs a more defined design and a bigger drawing. Random idea, she will have Ribbons on her main design.
BBC News Early Design
Tumblr media
Okay. I forgot that this sketch was from 2020!
I Watched the BBC World News channel and sometimes I watch it with my dad's TV box. And I liked watching the idents and the intros. And I love the countdown.
And I tried to draw her more, but I stopped with this. She needs a better design, still. BUT the idea of her using a antenna-inspired spear as her main weapon will carry on her design.
UCTV Early Design
Tumblr media
Based on UCTV, actually named Canal 13, from Chile.
Oh god (ironic), this design also comes from 2020! The idea was older than I thought.
His design was based on a priest, because the UCTV at that time was owned by a Catholic university from Chile. (WAS, nowadays no more, since... Late 2000s early 2010s)
Also because the channel used to show off some priests telling reflections before the channel signs off. (I remember catching some of those Reflections when I was a kid. But I didn't payed attention to those)
While I like this design, I think I'll redesign him. Spoiler of the new design idea, the channel used to have bumpers with angel cartoons, and it's why UCTV was nicknamed "The Channel of the Little Angel" ("El Canal del Angelito"). Wink Wink.
Tumblr media
There was this 2022 redraw of UCTV-Lette's design, with another designs for two other Chilean channels.
UCV Televisión, which design is the one with heels and one-eye covering hair. She's was the oldest Chilean TV channel, so i'll try to give her justice on a upcoming design.
AND Telecanal. Which is the one who's holding a box exclaiming "Buy My Shit". The joke refers to the fact that Telecanal's programming consists of an ABSURD majority of infomercials, and little to NO original content... I'm still baffled that this channel SOMEHOW is STILL AIRING. Sorry for the random rant. I'll try to come up with a better design.
I'll be continuing posting more sketches, as well as develop more of the Channelette project.
I'll be making a Masterpost of the whole Channelette later.
When I return to digital drawing, I'll try to digitise the designs. (And Hopefully do more drawings in general. I'm trying to make drawings from my tablet but... I need to build confidence with it)
Hope you like it!
