*blows kiss* for the Brad girlies (gender neutral)
Title: Team-Building Activities
Series: Workplace Policies and Procedures
Pairing: Loki x Mobius x Brad Wolfe x Reader
Rating: Explicit
Word count: 9,7k
Summary: Brad is turning out to be a very uncooperative prisoner. Luckily, you have some ideas on how to get around that problem.
Warnings: Rough sex, choking, misuse of TVA technology for sex purposes, edging, sub!Brad, Dom!everyone else, my particular brand of purple prose, a truly disturbing lack of proof reading.
Excerpt:
“So, what’s the plan?” you ask, making a point of eating another spoonful of pie.
“Torture!” Loki replies chipperly.
“Light torture,” Mobius corrects.
You blink, swallowing what will definitely be your last mouthful of that dreadful pie. “I suppose we could do that,” you say.
“We’ll make a show of it, work in a bit of subterfuge,” Loki explains. “It’ll definitely work.”
You nod a couple of times. “Yeah, probably... Can I make a suggestion that doesn’t involve torture?”
Mobius and Loki exchange a look. Mobius is the one to speak: “What are you thinking?”

A Tango In Time -- Chapter #1
Summary: While on your walk through the marketplace, a strange man appears in weird clothing; bidding bad tidings. He sweeps you into his arms, and all of a sudden...you're not in Pompeii anymore.
Pairing: TVA!Loki x Roman!Reader
Warning(s): mentions of death and destruction, Loki being a mischievous scamp
Tumblr media
As a resident of Pompeii, you lived a simple life in the shadow of the great Mount Vesuvius. You had always known that there was the possibility that the volcano could erupt at any moment, but you never truly expected it to happen; let alone when you were enjoying the sights of the marketplace.
But as the sky turned grey and the ground began to tremor beneath your feet, you knew that it was the end. You closed your eyes, waiting for the inevitable, but when you opened them again, you saw a man in some sort of beige cloth standing in front of you. He had a mischievous smile on his face and a glint in his eyes that made you uneasy.
"Nothing matters," he declared, his sultry voice ringing in your ears. He seemed to be talking to someone else, but you were the only one standing there. Suddenly, he grabbed your hand and pulled you towards him.
"What are you doing?" you asked, trying to pull away.
"I'm proving a point," he replied, a smirk on his lips.
You had no idea what he was talking about, but before you could protest, he began to swing you around. You stumbled at first, but soon found your footing and began to move with him. The world around you was crumbling and falling apart, but in that moment, all that mattered was the two of you dancing in the midst of destruction.
As the ground continued to shake and the sky turned black, the man in beige continued to dance with you. You had no idea who he was or what he wanted, but you couldn't help but feel drawn to him. His confidence and charm were intoxicating, and for a moment, you forgot about the impending doom.
But just as quickly as it had started, the dancing stopped. The man in beige suddenly let go of your hand and seemingly disappeared, leaving you alone in the chaos of your city's impending doom.
A shaky sigh was all you managed to get out before someone grabbed your arm and pulled you through some sort of glowing light. And the next thing you knew, you were standing in a strange room surrounded by people in strange clothes.
Confused and disoriented, you stumbled forward, trying to find your bearings. Suddenly, the man in beige appeared again, this time with another man in what you're assuming to be formal garb.
"Welcome to the TVA," he said, his mischievous smile never leaving his face. "You're not supposed to be here, but I couldn't resist bringing you along."
You had no idea what he was talking about; what was a TVA? But before you could ask, the man in the formal clothes interrupted.
"Loki, what have you done?" he asked, his voice sounded stern, but the words he spoke were extremely foreign.
The man in beige's -- now known as Loki's-- smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. "Relax, Mobius. She's not going to cause any harm."
You sent a confused glance to Loki, "What is this man saying? Where is he from? Greece? Persia?"
Loki's eyes seemed to widen with realisation, "Ah, I apologise my lady. Let me fix this problem." With that, a green haze washed over you, a startled yelp slipping from between your lips.
"Are you two done with your little show?" The older man--who you assumed to be Mobius--asked.
Loki scoffed, "I was not putting on a show! She couldn't comprehend a word that slipped through your lips; so I gave her a little help."
Mobius just sighed, "She's not supposed to be here, Loki. You know the rules," his frustration evident in his tone.
"But isn't that the point? To show you that apocalypses don't affect the timeline?" Loki retorted.
"I was there with you! I saw the evidence on the Tempad! There was no need for you to bring a random woman back with you," Mobius said, crossing his arms.
"Ah, but where's the fun in that? Besides, she seemed like she needed some excitement in her life. Being burned alive or suffocated by volcanic ash doesn't seem like a good pass time," Loki replied with a sly grin.
Your eyes practically bulged out of your head, "What?"
Tumblr media
A/N I've had this idea in my drafts for so long...so it's amazing to finally have something to post. This is probably going to be a short story, maybe 5 or 6 part at most.
This is one of my many ideas for my 500 followers celebration!

all i ask is a mobius fic with a fellow tva worker who find out they have a life together on the timeline 🙏🙏🙏
- 🚑
it’s silent in the shared space. mobius was eating his key lime pie, but he’d only gotten three bites in (you counted) when he suddenly expressed disinterest in consuming the dessert and more interest in picking at it as if he’s trying to dissect it.
you sit in front of him, feeling newly close despite the distance created by the small table. there’s no pie in front of you, instead a cup of hot chocolate that you’d once left alone to cool but not it sat completely uninterested.
the two of you have been sitting like this for nearly half an hour, no doubt thinking about the same thing.
still, mobius asks.
he takes a breath and the sound of metal against porcelain forces you to look up from the table. “so …” mobius adjusts his blazer. “what’re you thinking about?” he says it casually, a smile on his lips as he awaits your response.
you try to replicate his tone, but charm and charisma doesn’t come to you that easily. your voice barely wavers when you say, “us.”
mobius’ face falls as if he hadn’t been expecting your response. but when he glances down at the table, you see that he was expecting it.
“yeah. me too.”
silence once more befalls the space of the pie room, but it’s not awkward. it’s full of longing, each of you creating scenarios of what life is like now that you know your lives are intertwined in more ways than how it is now.
“d’you think we get along well?”
your question causes mobius to scoff as if it’s the most absurd question he’d ever heard.
“of course we get along. look at us now. you have your hot chocolate i have my pie. we’re like two peas.”
you can’t help but smile at his words despite the conjoining of the two foods making absolutely no sense. mobius, seemingly uplifted by his own doing, picks up his spoon and takes a hearty bite of his pie. it encourages you to take a gulp of your hot chocolate, now more so lukewarm than anything else.
and somewhere out there on the sacred timeline, the two of you live a beautiful life together.
a small home, decorated with pictures of yourself and your nieces and nephews. it’s quaint enough for the two of you but there’s an extra bedroom that provides inspiration. sometimes you find yourself standing in it, hands on your hips as you look around at the four walls. your wedding ring and the band is easily swirled around your finger as you think, and the anniversary necklace is toyed with along your neck. eventually, mobius will come up next to you to rest his hand along your back and rub against your skin through the layers.
“there’s still time,” he always reminds you. and that’s just the thing. the two of you, living life on the sacred timeline, have time.

Title: Arousal Poisoning
Fandom: Loki TV Series
Rating: Explicit Smut
Relationship: Loki/Reader or Loki/Original Female Character
Other Characters: Mobius, B-15
This takes place in season 1, episode 2 of the Loki series; before Pompeii. Mobius took Loki and a team of hunters to a Nexus event on some inhospitable planet that had only one infrastructure – a prison that was supposed to house the galaxy’s most dangerous criminals. Every single criminal and prison guard had been executed and the prison ransacked. Mobius and Loki were supposed to investigate before the branched timeline collapsed, but a trap poisoned Loki and a (female) Hunter, causing them to fall into their baser instincts…
Or, in other words, a sex pollen, drug-induced, rough sex fanfic that can either be a self-insert, or an original female character, depending on your own interpretation.

Hello! thanks for the D-90 fanfic, I know he was a secondary character and there is no so much material about him and I appreciate that you agreed to my request and did your best :D ! this time, may I request a mobius x reader? super cute super fluff
Thank you for your nice message, I appreciate that you liked it even though it was a little short. (I made it a fem reader but I never really describe the gender of the reader I hope you don't mind)
My silly little man
Tumblr media
Mobius x Fem!reader
Summary: You want to organize something special for Mobius because you started to think that you don't really know when his birthday is, in fact, no one who works at the TVA really knows when they were born. After discovering that you were not created by the time keepers, your mission will be to find out Mobius' birthday with the help of Loki and give him a nice gift.
Warnings: just fluff
Word count: 3k
—————————♡—————————
With your hands framing your face and your elbows resting on the table, you listened attentively to Mobius talking about his favorite topic, jetskis.
"They are super fast vehicles and glide through the water like fish. I think it would be great to get on one of those, I would feel like Poseidon!"
Mobius' little eyes shone with excitement with every sentence he said and his body language was that of a happy child, he leaned over the table, moved his hands and from time to time he giggled, in short, he couldn't stop moving.
"And the best of all is that despite their size they are very light and can be carried on by more than one person.."
You nodded and smiled, memorizing every useful fact about jetskis. Suddenly Mobius remained silent, looking at you somewhat embarrassed.
"Hey… I'm not boring you, am I?"
"No! Of course not! It's funny when you talk to me about those jetskis"-you said surprised
He smiled with relief and ate a piece of his key lime pie. He wanted to take a break and decided to go with you to the pie room where you two were now. Whenever he felt stressed or discouraged, his favorite dessert that gave him the best comfort was key lime pie.
"You haven't tried your pie, aren't you hungry?"
"Oh, when I listen to you I forget everything else."
He seemed to blush and smiled shyly, you decided to take a taste of the pie. It was mint green and had a scoop of cream on top. When you put the fork in your mouth, your eyes widened.
"My God Mobius! It's delicious!"
"Have you never tried it before?"
"Ah ah"-You shook your head as you stuffed your cheeks with the delicious key lime pie. You looked like a bloated squirrel.
You finished the key lime pie before Mobius but you did it in such a hurry that you didn't realize that you had gotten cream on the corner of your mouth.
"You've got something… a little dirty. Here, let me help you."
Mobius took a small handkerchief out of his jacket pocket and wiped the corner of your lip as you moved closer to him and made eye contact.
"Better?"-you asked
"Much better"-he said smiling
You smiled back warmly, he was a great man always willing to help. So gentlemanly and helpful with a fatherly attitude that no one else at TVA had. Although it is true that sometimes he was a little strange and made bad jokes, you always laughed because you adored him.
"Well I thought I was the only person who loved pie´s but I see that someone else beat me to it."-He said pointing to your empty plate.
You laughed, looking down and shrugging your shoulders, and when you looked up again you saw on the clock that it was time to go back to work.
"Oh, I think we talked too much, I better go back to my office, I don't want Miss Minutes to get angry."
He waved his hand dismissively. "That cartoon clock? Don't worry, she's probably busy chatting with Mickey Mouse and his friend Donald Duck."
You laughed again this time harder at his silly joke as you both got up and went back to your offices.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Hours later you were sitting pretending to work but in reality you were looking through the Mobius archives looking for important information, while from time to time you looked through their jetski magazines. Loki, who was next to you, looked at you out of the corner of his eye, intrigued. Suddenly he rolled up a magazine and hit you on the shoulder with it, you jumped and turned around offended.
"Ouch? What are you doing?"
"I could ask you the same thing. Shouldn't you be working?"
"Ugh forget it Loki, you're not interested in what I'm doing."
"Right, but do you know who would be interested? What was the name of that grumpy judge who was a friend of Mobius? Oh, I remember, Ravonna! She'd be very upset if she caught you lazing around."
He made to stand up with a mischievous smile to tell Ravonna about your lack of efficiency when you stopped him by the wrist before he left.
"Fine, you win!! I'll tell you what I'm doing but don't tell Ravonna."
"I'm listening"
"I need to know Mobius's birthday"
"Why do you want to know that?"
"It's just that… haven't you stopped to think that no one here remembers the day they were born? Now we know that we are variants but we don't remember our birthdays, for example, you remember when you were born, right?"
"Of course I remember"
"See? That's my point, it's important to remember our birthday to know who we are, and Mobius needs to know who he is, or at least be reminded."
Loki looked at you for a while, thoughtful.
"Are you sure that's the only reason you're doing this?"
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"Well, I mean, it's curious that you only want to know Mobius's birthday and not anyone else."
You avoided making eye contact with him and blushed slightly, you didn't want to lie to Loki because he was after all the god of mischief and no lie escaped him, but you didn't want to be so obvious either.
"Well, you know, Mobius is an important worker at the TVA, he is very good and understanding, loyal and patient and… he is someone important to me.."-you said in a low voice
Loki laughed, unable to contain himself, and you looked at him, frowning. Did he dare to mock you just now?
"I already knew that, I just wanted to see you admit it."
You punched him in the arm with your fist while he continued laughing. A while later he calmed down and told you
"Okay, I'll help you with whatever you need."
"I knew you would do it"-you smiled
You both agreed to use a Tempad to be able to travel to the Mobius timeline, without anyone finding out.
Walking shoulder to shoulder the two of you advanced through the halls of the TVA finding a place where you could open the time door without anyone seeing you, unfortunately Mobius was nearby talking to B-15 and saw you.
"Oh hey Loki, Y/N where are you going?"
"Oh uhh we were going to… we…-"-You murmured nervously.
"An alert sounded on our Tempads, it's just an annoying variant. Not very dangerous"-Loki said confidently helping you get by.
"How strange, no alarm went off in my Tempad"
"Not in mine either"-B-15 said, looking at them suspiciously.
"Well, I guess you'll have to send them to O.B to check them."
Loki smiled calmly and placed a hand on your shoulder, gently pushing you to continue walking. They both walked away from Mobius and B-15 without looking back for fear that they would follow them. When they finally made sure that you and Loki were alone, they opened the time door.
"Phew, that was close."-you sighed
"Yeah, and be thankful that I saved you because you don't know how to lie."
"Hey!"
You couldn't say anything more because Loki rolled his eyes and pushed you slightly so that you crossed the time door and he followed you from behind.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
When you two walked out the door, a strong ray of sunlight hit your faces, forcing you to squint. A fresh breeze moved their hair and the soft singing of the birds sweetened their ears. In front of you was a picturesque house with toys lying in front near the sidewalk. Loki put his hands on his hips and you stood still waiting for something to happen.
"So, this is where the original Mobius lives, not bad, I mean, it's not the palace of Asgard but it looks comfortable-"
"Shh, someone's coming!"
From afar you saw how Mobius approached carrying two huge garbage cans making it difficult for him to walk. He was wearing a white shirt and pants with a blue vest, you sensed that it was the uniform of his original job.
"Ok guys we have a new rule and that is any toy found outside your room is gonna clasified as garbage. That is trash"
You watched as Mobius gathered the toys and felt your heart sink, so he had children. And if he had children that meant that maybe he also had a wife… you wrinkled your brow just thinking about it. Suddenly a blonde boy who was squatting ran out while Mobius called him shouting his name, to make matters worse another slightly older boy came out from behind the house and went for his brother. You lowered your head a little crestfallen, you no longer felt so much desire to visit him.
"Hey, what's wrong?"-Loki asked you worried
"Nothing, I don't think it was a good idea to come…"
You were about to turn around when Loki stopped you by the arm.
"No, no hey, hey wait. I know this seems strange but just because he has a son doesn't mean he should have a wife. Maybe he's a single father."
You didn't seem very convinced but you still stopped and turned to look at him.
"Besides, do you really think that if he had a wife, all those toys would be lying in the yard? Don't you think she would have already gone out to see what was going on?"
You hadn't thought about that, of course, Mobius seemed more like the kind of father who would be single and his children would drive him crazy. You smiled tenderly as you thought about that and as you remembered his fatherly attitude at the TVA, it made sense now.
"You're right, we shouldn't dramatize so much. Let's try to talk to him."-you sighed in relief
You and Loki walked towards the house where Mobius was still gathering the toys, carrying them under his arm as best he could. He suddenly turned around and was surprised to see the two of you.
"Oh hello there, do you need anything?"
Why did your throat feel dry every time you went to talk to him? The words didn't seem to come out of your mouth and your hands were sweating. You hated him. Loki once again came to your aid.
"We wanted to ask you something"
"Do you want to buy a jetski?"
Suddenly you forgot all nervousness and took a step forward
"Are you a jetski salesman?"
"Of course! That's what I dedicate myself to. Don, to serve you"
He extended his hand to shake it and you gladly did so. You were happy to know about his past and why he was always interested in those vehicles, finally the pieces of the puzzle were beginning to fit together.
"Come with me, I have some excellent jetskis in my garage that I want to show you"
Don stepped forward and you whispered in Loki's ear.
"Don is a nice name, it suits him"
"So you think?"-he grimaced
The gray-haired man opened the door to his garage and showed them two beautiful jetskis in good condition.
"These are my greatest treasures, I shouldn't sell them to you but my wife is no longer here so no one is stopping me."-he laughed softly
Upon hearing that you raised your eyebrows without being able to contain yourself. Loki spoke to downplay your not at all hidden reaction.
"They are beautiful but we are looking for other models, could we chat inside? If you don't mind, of course"
"Alright, do you want something to drink? I have a couple of beers."
"It wouldn't be wise, we have to get back to work in a bit."
Suddenly Don seemed to notice your clothes and nodded smiling. Upon entering Don's house you could see that the disorder was also present there and not just in his yard. There were plates and pots piled up in the kitchen sink. On the table there were crayons, papers, glasses and tin soldiers. He hurriedly took out those things, apologizing profusely.
"Sorry for the mess, single dad."-He smiled embarrassedly.
"Do not worry I understand"
You looked at him, smiling tenderly, watching each of his movements and how you moved away his children's toys and drawings. Despite everything you thought he was a great father
"Well, sit down please, what model of jetski were you looking for?"
The three of you sat down and you and Loki looked at each other in silence not knowing what to say, you hadn't planned what to say, usually you improvised on the fly, especially Loki.
"Well we needed a big jetski of a specific color..."-it occurred to you to say
"Yes, yes and it is a special color to identify it from the other jetskis"-Loki said
"Okay, what color would it be? We have green, yellow, blue.."
"Purple maybe?"
"Or how about mother-of-pearl and gold?"
"Ok, that's a unique color."-Don said
You looked at Loki wanting to rip his head off. After all, he couldn't stop being the eccentric prince that he was. Don looked at the two of you confused, trying to guess if you were playing a prank on him.
"Look, I'll bring a magazine from the store where I work so you can see the prices and colors. I'll be right back."
When the gray-haired man left the kitchen you jumped up and looked around the place trying to find something that would tell you Mobius' birthday. On his refrigerator there were a lot of photos and notes stuck with magnets. His children's birthdays were written in the notes but not his, obviously. You sat back down quickly when Don returned with a jetski magazine.
"Well here it is, I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long."
You took the magazine smiling and approached Loki so you could both see the jetskis, obviously you had to feign interest so Don wouldn't get suspicious, but how could you get him to reveal the information you needed? Suddenly something occurred to you
"We are actually looking for a jetski to give to a friend for his birthday"
"Wow they must love their friend very much. I would have loved to receive that as a birthday gift"-he laughed
"Really? When is your birthday?"
"Oh it's already happened, it was October 15"
You looked at Loki and smiled at him, winking, he looked at you surprised at your abilities.
"Well in that case, happy belated birthday."
"Thank you"
You and Don looked at each other smiling tenderly, Loki smiled happily but then cleared his throat, bringing you back to reality and reminding you that they had to leave. With regret you saw Don again
"Well, I think we'll come back another day, there are so many jetskis that I can't decide"
"Yeah, and also if we don't go back to work our boss will get angry."-Loki said
The gray-haired man looked a little sad but managed to give a small smile.
"Oh ok, I got it. Please come back whenever you want, you are welcome in this house."
He walked you to the door but before leaving you grabbed his hand and gave it a loving squeeze.
"Thanks for everything"
The way you said it suggested that you thanked him for more than just showing you his jetskis. You and Loki left the house and returned to the TVA through the time door.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"And now what will we do? We already know that Mobius's birthday is October 15th but we still don't have any gifts for him"-You sighed frustratedly, sliding into your seat.
"And we should decorate the place too, just saying"
You rolled your eyes, growling and covering your face.
"Loki, you are not helping, instead of saying what I already know we should do, propose an idea"
"Sorry i'm trying! I have never had to organize a birthday party before"
You scratched your head, frowning and trying to come up with something.
"Well we could ask O.B to design something for Mobius, maybe a miniature jetski, you know O.B is good at inventing and fixing things"
Loki nodded listening attentively.
"And to decorate the place we will have to ask B-15 and Casey for help. We won't be able to do it alone"
"Pftt speak for yourself"
You looked at him frowning and he laughed but then he got serious and cleared his throat.
"Alright, let's go see that little inventor."
It didn't take long for the two of you to reach the basement where O.B worked. As always he greeted them smiling happy as a clam.
"Guys! It's nice to see you! What are you doing here?"
Suddenly you felt a little bad about what you were going to ask him, O.B was already a busy man and his office seemed like the result of a whirlwind of things, all messy. But Mobius was priority now
"I need you to try to recreate a miniature jetski, it doesn't have to be perfect. You can do it with whatever you find, screws, wires, whatever you want. Just try to make it look like a jetski"
You handed him a magazine that you had taken from Mobius's desk drawer so he would know the exact shape he should recreate.
"Ok! May I ask why do I have to do this?"
"Well, it's a gift for Mobius but don't say anything, it's a surprise."-you winked
"Alright, I won't say anything, I promise"
You and Loki left the little bespectacled man to work and headed into the hallways looking for Casey and B-15. They went a long way when they found Mobius again.
"Hello again, have you caught the variant yet?"
"What variant?-"
Suddenly you stomped on Loki to keep his mouth shut. He grabbed his foot, growling and looked at you angrily. You only saw Mobius and smiled nervously.
"Yes, we already caught it, luckily everything turned out well"
"Hmm, right."
You quickly took Loki by the arm, cursing inwardly while Mobius stood with his hands on his hips, looking at them suspiciously. He wasn't stupid, it was obvious that he knew something was wrong, and Loki almost ruined it.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Mobius was upset and confused, pacing back and forth trying to figure out what you two were up to. He was racking his brain trying to figure out if they had gotten into trouble and were afraid to tell him. To console himself he ate a slice of pie. He suddenly realized that you spent a lot of time with Loki and he felt weird. Was it jealousy? But why would I be jealous of Loki? He was his friend and you… you… well, anyway. He told himself he didn't have to worry. When you finish eating the pie. He went to see O.B and was surprised by the silence there was, it was a heavy, suffocating silence as if something was lurking and was about to attack him. When he got to the basement he didn't see anyone, he turned around to look somewhere else and that's when he found a large banner with his name and the phrase "Happy Birthday."
"What the..-"
Suddenly Casey, O.B, Loki, B-15 and you came out from behind the engineer's desk and yelled "surprise!". Mobius turned around, startled and confused.
"What is all this??"
You approached with your hands behind your back and smiling from ear to ear.
"It's a birthday party, listen I know it sounds weird but you never knew when you were really born so Loki and I went to your original timeline and found out! Isn't it amazing?!"
Mobius opened his eyes wide and murmured.
"You and Loki did what? Why?"
"We all deserve to know where we come from to know who we are. We must know our past to understand our present. Today is not October 15 but we still wanted to celebrate that somewhere and at some time on earth you were born"-you looked at Loki and the others
"And remind you what a good person you are, and a great friend too"
"A loyal and helpful TVA agent"-B-15 said
"The man who always visits me and asks me how I am"-O.B said
"Or the man who is always patient and knows how to listen"-Casey said
Mobius looked at everyone moved and then looked at you.
"And most importantly, the person who is always there for everyone, who is understanding, passionate and optimistic. You always know what to say and when. We care about you Mobius, especially me"
Mobius didn't know what to say and his eyes were already wet, when from behind you you took out the gift that O.B had finished, a pocket jetski made of metal and welded. It was a little rustic and lacked paint but it was perfect
"I apologize for not being able to paint it, I didn't have time"-O.B said
Mobius laughed tenderly and grabbed the jetski, tears of happiness now running down his cheeks. He admired the piece of metal as if it were a treasure, that was more than he could wish for or imagine. He looked at all his friends smiling, he couldn't believe they had done something like that for him.
"I really don't know what to say, thank you"
"You don't have to say anything"
You hugged Mobius and gave him a kiss on the cheek, he melted into your arms inhaling your perfume and closing his eyes like a newborn being lulled to sleep.
"I love you silly little man"

small note: I'm not an astrologist or anything but I couldn't decide whether to make Mobius of the sign cancer or libra, in the end I decided on libra lol

Maybe Season 2: Chapter 2
Summary: You work at the TVA as an analyst. Every day is the same- boring case after boring case- but your entire life changes one day when a new variant shows up.
Word Count: 4k
Catch up on season 1 of the series!
A/N: She's a long one - thanks for your patience. In this chapter, we dig deeper into the reader and Sylvie's unique relationship dynamic. Lowkey proud of the character/relationship development.
Tumblr media
The chaos of the world faded away as he held you.
The TVA no longer shook, Mobius wasn’t running around like a madman with O.B., the universe wasn’t collapsing. How could it, when you were holding your universe so tightly you thought you would break his ribs?
You had feared his anger, his resentment - mostly because you knew you deserved it. But Loki didn’t hesitate to gather you in his embrace, arms twisting tightly around you as he buried his face in the crook of your neck.
“I missed you,” he whispered.
“I missed you, too,” you whispered back.
“I’m so sorry,” you both blurted simultaneously.
Loki pulled back from you, chuckling with that mischievous twinkle in his eye.
“You don’t have to be sorry,” he said, caressing your cheek. “You were only doing what you thought was right.”
“So were you.”
“And, about Lamentis -” he started.
You knew what he really wanted to say: ‘About Sylvie.’
“Let’s not talk about that now,” you interrupted.
The image of He Who Remains flashed through your head. The memory of him telling you about the nature of Loki and Sylvie’s relationship. All mere hours after Loki told you he loved you for the first time. You subconsciously rubbed your chest at the heartache.
“We have time,” you continued. “Right, now I’m just happy to be back here.”
Loki’s smile faded to a grimace. You watched as anxiety invaded every inch of his body. He started to bite his nails, but you slapped them away from his face before he could do any damage.
He shot you a look that read: really?
“Bad habit,” you told him.
As a distraction, you slipped your hands into his. He interlaced your fingers before pressing a gentle kiss to the back of your hand.
“We might not have as much time as you think, my dear.”
Suddenly, the ground between you and Loki split open. The two of you shot back in opposite directions. The TVA shook violently underneath your feet. Your home was being destroyed in front of your eyes - monitors falling to the floor, screens cracking, windows shattering.
The TemPad in your pocket shot out bright sparks. You shrieked, racing to grab it from your pocket and throw it aside. As soon as it fell to the TVA floor, it exploded, with pieces of metal flying everywhere. A piece of shrapnel was inches away from your face when it suddenly froze, surrounded by a bright green mist. Your eyes turned toward Loki whose hand was outstretched.
“Nice catch,” you said.
The shrapnel fell to the ground, and Loki rushed over to you. He soothed his hand up and down your forearm, and a chill ran down your spine.
Slowly, the ruckus in the TVA simmered until it eventually stood still.
“I need to show you something,” Loki said softly.
This can’t be good.
- – -
You stared out the glass of the observation room. Dox’s bombs had turned the timeline into a horrifying sight. Pieces of pure time floated away into the ether, the lives of those in it forever lost.
What if one of them was where you were originally from? Before the TVA kidnapped you and wiped your memories. You might’ve lost everything, and you wouldn’t have even known.
“So you need He Who Remains’s aura?” You asked, not taking your eyes off the timeline.
“Yes!” Said the chipper voice of O.B., who stood behind you at one of the computers.
“How are we supposed to find him? He didn’t exactly exist in the normal constraints of time. Is there even a past variant of him to find?” You ran circles in your head through all of the variables, all of the possibilities. Nothing made sense, not anymore.
“Renslayer’s working with him - I heard them,” explained Loki. “Casey’s working to track her TemPad, so wherever - or whenever - we find her, we find him.”
“This is such a mind fuck,” you scoffed in frustration.
“Tell me about it,” Mobius laughed.
You jumped as the doors of the observation room opened, slamming against the wall. Casey ran in frantically, TVA guidebook in one hand, TemPad in the other.
“I found her.”
- – -
“I don’t mind a nice skirt, but this corset is eating me alive,” you wheezed, pulling at the fabric across your stomach.
“I, for one, think you look rather stunning,” Loki flirted, shooting you a wink.
“Charmer,” you teased.
“I can’t take you two anywhere,” Mobius groaned.
The three of you stood in Gilded Age clothing on the streets of Chicago. While the 1800s were hardly your favorite era from the timeline, it was beautiful up close.
Mobius walked ahead, but your and Loki’s steps fell in sync. You linked your arm with his, briefly leaning your head on his shoulder.
“I know you said you didn’t want to talk about it, but -”
“Loki -”
“I need you to know how much you matter to me. You. No one else. Never anyone else,” he hollered loudly. Passerby stared at the two of you, whispering to one another.
“Apologies,” Loki said to them, tipping his tophat.
“I know you care about me Loki, but if you feel the same way for her…” you trailed off, unsure of what you would do. You didn’t even want to think about the possibility of his head turning.
“I don’t,” he exasperated, as if the words pained him to hear. “I thought I was going to die on Lamentis. I’d faced death before, but there was always a way around it. There wasn’t then - I was staring into the face of an inevitable apocalypse. Neither of us were thinking straight and all I did was hold her hand. It was for comfort and reassurance. Not lust, not love, not even affection. All of my affections are reserved for you.”
He put his hand over his heart, his eyes never leaving yours. There was no hesitancy or distraction. The eye contact made you squirm internally, consumed by the bright blue swirls.
“I believe you,” you whispered, softly smiling at him.
Loki’s eyebrows shot up, almost like he was startled.
“Really?” He asked in disbelief.
“Why is that so surprising?” You chuckled, pushing a stray strand of raven hair behind his ear.
“People rarely trust my word,” he said, slowly grabbing your hand from his hair. “God of Mischief and all.”
“I trust you, Mischief,” you said.
I’ve never said that to anyone before.
His eyes glazed over as he smiled at you. He leaned down to kiss your forehead, as he ran his thumb over your knuckles.
“I trust you, too.”
“Hurry the hell up!” You heard Mobius yell from down the block.
You and Loki burst out into laughter. He rarely laughed - it was a beautiful melody to hear.
“Come on then, lover,” you said, pulling on his hand. “We have a fugitive to catch.”
- – -
The three of you had split up, searching the festival for any sign of Renslayer or He Who Remains. Loki and Mobius had wandered off to this magic show by a man named Victor Timely. You, however, decided to walk around the grounds, searching the ins and outs of the crowd.
You smiled at the sighs. Children running freely, laughing with their friends. Families spending quality time together, sharing drinks and popcorn. Couples who got lost in their own little world. You wondered if Loki looked at you the way those men looked at their partners.
Everyone looked so happy. At peace and unaware of the coming war. These were the people you had sworn to protect. It was one thing to watch over them from the prison that is the Citadel, but to see them face-to-face was glorious.
A little girl with blonde hair parted into pigtails ran up to you and crashed into your legs, squeezing them tight.
“Oh!” You startled, looking down at her. “Hello there.”
You bent down to the girl’s height and waved. She waved back with her chubby little fingers.
“Are you alright?”
“She wants to see you,” the little girl said.
“Sorry?”
“She wants to see you,” the little girl repeated. She was so young, her teeth hadn’t even fully grown in. She smiled at you with her gums. “Go to the ferris wheel.”
“Who wants to see me?”
She opened her mouth, as if she was about to answer, but shut it quickly. She giggled before running off into the crowd.
It was like the air had turned cold. Every bone in your body told you not to follow.
Run.
But, before your mind could come to a decision, your legs started to move. You ran after the girl, ducking and dodging between people. The girl ran up the steps of the ferris wheel, disrupting the line of people who were waiting to ride. You ran into a few of them, and could hear their angry calls from behind you.
Once you reached the ferris wheel platform, you went to grab the little girl’s arm to stop her, but your fingers went right through her. You pulled your hand back, before reaching for her again. It wasn’t real - she wasn’t real. Then, she disappeared right between your fingers.
“I know illusions are more Loki’s thing, but I knew you sure as hell wouldn’t have followed me.”
You whipped around to see Sylvie leaning against the rail of the stairs. She looked different than the last time you’d seen her - which, coincidentally, was also when you tried to kill each other. She had grown her hair out into a mullet and ditched her traditional Loki armour for slacks and a long green jacket.
“Well, you’re right about that,” you retorted.
The air was tense between you, but you could tell she wasn’t here to fight. Her eyes held a level of despair and loneliness you knew all too well. She wasn’t even holding a knife, which was a rare occasion.
“I mean you no harm,” she whispered.
“I know,” you started. “Look, I’m sorry. About everything. That wasn’t how I wanted it all to happen.”
Sylvie bit the inside of her cheek as she stared at you. You could’ve sworn you saw tears build up in her eyes, but she never let them fall.
Stubborn girl.
“You don’t have to say it back,” you added. “I know you’re-”
“I’m sorry, too,” she blurted.
“Is that the first time you’ve apologized to someone?” You asked, chuckling.
Sylvie shrugged, unable to hide the smile on her face.
“I mean, I’m not sorry about trying to kill He Who Remains. After everything he did…to everyone, to me. What did you expect me to do - believe him, trust him?” she sighed, trying to contain her frustration. “But I shouldn’t have hurt you. I never meant to hurt you, you must know that.”
“I do,” you whispered, nodded profusely. “I shouldn’t have hurt you either.”
You walked toward the blonde, drawing her into a hug before she could protest. She didn’t hug you back, but she did drop her head onto your shoulder.
I’ll take it.
“I really am sorry about what happened,” Sylvie said, pulling back from the embrace, eyes pleading with you. “And I hope you don’t hate me for what I’m about to do.
“What -”
Suddenly, footsteps boomed up the stairs and screams pierced your ears. A man emerged from the line, tripping over the stairs, and falling onto the platform. He stood up clumsily before rushing over to you and hiding behind your shoulder.
“What are you doing?!” You scolded, shoving the man off you.
“Victor!”
The familiar voice echoed throughout the platform as Loki entered your view. He pushed past people, running over to you and the man, prying him off of you. Loki held the man up by his collar, towering over him.
“Don’t touch her,” Loki threatened. “You’re clearly very good at getting away-”
You caught a glint of emerald in your periphery. Sylvie had drawn a blade from thin air, pointing it at the throat of the clumsy man.
“Sylvie!” You and Loki both shouted.
Loki moved in front of the man, shielding him from his variant. He held his hands up, trying to reason with her.
“Sylvie, no,” he spoke.
“You stay out of this,” she snapped.
Using her magic, she lifted the man and Loki off their feet. She threw them backwards into one of the ferris wheel cars. She marched over to them, with you right on her heels. The car door slammed behind you.
You ran over to Loki, who was lying on the floor, clutching his side. You slipped your arm around his torso, sitting him up.
“Are you okay?” You asked, moving the hair out of his eyes.
He nodded, gripping your waist as he stood.
“Just wait,” he said to Sylvie. “Just wait one second!”
The blonde woman inched toward her prey.
“You’ve done enough,” she spat. “Now, get out of my face and let me finish my job.”
She swung her blade ferosiously toward Loki. Instinctively, you pushed him out of the way. The blade met your shoulder, cutting through your dress and across your skin. You cried out in pain, gripping your shoulder. Blood dribbled down the fabric of your arm, painting it a gruesome red.
Sylvie’s eyes widened, and she stepped back, dropping the blade to her side.
“No, no,” she whispered to herself. “I’m sorry.”
Loki looked at your arm in horror, and in a blind furry, summoned all his magic. With a flash of bright green, Sylvie had flown back into the window. The glass crunched at the impact, slowly cracking as she fell to the floor.
Sylvie growled as she pushed herself to her feet.
“When you showed up out of nowhere to ruin my life,” she yelled at Loki. “You asked me what I would do if one of his variants turned up. And I told you then, I’d kill him.”
Confusion prickled your mind, and you knew you had missed a step. You turned to look at the strange man Sylvie had been trying to kill.
“Oh my god.”
You had been so distracted by the chaos, you’d never looked at him - really looked at him. Behind the glasses and the large hair, it was clear as day. He Who Remains stood before you.
“It’s not him,” Loki said. “[Y/N], my dear, meet Victor Timely.”
The strange man awkwardly adjusted his tailcoat before bowing his head at you.
“Pleasure,” he greeted.
“Uh huh,” you said, frozen in shock.
“Look, Sylvie,” Loki said. “We need him. Without his help, the TVA will be destroyed.”
“Good. Let it burn. Do you care about anything but the TVA?”
“Of course I do!” He shot back, eyes flickering toward you.
“The TVA,” Victor stuttered, grabbing something from inside his coat.
He pulled out a small orange booklet and started flipping through the pages. The TVA guidebook.
“How did you get that?” You asked him.
He didn’t get a chance to answer before Sylvie lunged at him again.
“I know you just want to be left alone to live a life on your branch,” Loki stopped her. “I understand that. But if the loom fails, and the TVA is destroyed, there won’t be a life to go back to. Not for you, not for anyone.”
Sylvie clenched her jaw.
“It’s true,” you chimed in.
Sylvie looked at you and you saw some of the fight disappear from her body.
“We can’t fix this without him,” you continued.
“Stopping that place from being destroyed and fixing it are two very different things,” Sylvie told you. “And working with one of his variants is not going to get you either.”
It was like she was pleading with you, begging you to be on her side. But this wasn’t about sides - it’s life or death.
“Your machete hasn’t solved any problems thus far,” Loki sassed, and you slapped him on the arm.
“Cut it out,” you whispered.
He raised his hands in surrender.
“Do you really think I want to be here?” Sylvie asked you genuinely. “Do you think I’m going to get any joy out of killing this man?”
“Of course not,” you shot back. “You’re doing this because you think you have to, but I’m trying to tell you that you don’t.”
Sylvie summoned the TVA guidebook out of Victor’s hands, holding it out to you.
“Where do you think he got this book?!” She cried out. “If you - the ultimate timekeeper - and the TVA hadn’t messed with him, he’d have remained harmless. But instead, you weaponized him!”
“I didn’t do this,” you asserted. “What are you talking about?”
“Renslayer set him on a path that he wasn’t meant for. And now you are waltzing him right back into the TVA. What, are you trying to get him to replace you? You finally realized you couldn’t hack it?”
“Watch it,” you spat, trying to act like she hadn’t hit a nerve.
“He’s the thief of all free will,” she whispered, her tone cold like ice. “The most dangerous man who ever lived.”
“I’ve never met him in my life!” You screamed at her. “He’s not He Who Remains. Just like you aren’t Loki.”
“You haven’t got a clue.”
Sylvie ran around you, swinging her blade at Loki and Victor. Loki used his magic to move you into the corner of the car, out of harms way.
They were so quick in their movements you could barely see them fight. All you saw was swirls of green magic and wind rushing beneath Sylvie’s blade.
At one point the two shot blasts at each other simultaneously. The intertwined magic exploded like a grenade. The windows shattered and glass rained down on you. You tried to shield your face, but weren’t quick enough to avoid the first few shards. They scraped at your face before falling to the floor.
You heard Loki yell as the force flung him and Victor from the car and down the platform stairs. You quickly ran to the ferris wheel platform, eyes widening in horror at Loki lying still in the dirt.
“Loki!”
You ran toward him, dropping your knees into the dirt beside him. You were so focused on him, you didn’t notice Renslayer creep out of the crowd and run toward Victor.
Bystanders started to surround the four of you, helping Victor and Loki to their feet. Murmurs of questions and concerns rung through the festival.
“Are you alright?” You asked Loki, holding his cheek.
“Where is he?” Loki asked.
“Timely?”
“Yes.”
“I’m not sure, I-”
A bright light flashed before you, Loki rushed in front of you, pushing you behind him.
“No fucking way.”
A retro-decorated Miss Minutes stood 20 feet tall before you. She laughed manically as the crowd of people screamed and ran from her in horror. She stomped after them, ripping down flags and lights and throwing them to the ground.
“You better run!” She shoutered in that southern accent.
“She has a lot of audacity,” you said to Loki, rolling your eyes.
“Tell me about it.”
Loki was shoved from the back, and you were about to whip around and yell at whoever did it, before Sylvie marched past him, body-checking his shoulder.
“This is your fault,” she said to him before walking away.
“Honestly!” He groaned in frustration. It was like watching two siblings fight.
“Don’t take it personally,” you tried. “She’s like a moody teenager.”
“Loki! [Y/N]!”
Mobius rode around the corner in a idiotically small tricycle. He patted the seat behind him, as if to say hop on.
“Fuck no.”
“Absolutely not.”
- – -
After running around Chicago for an hour to no avail, you had tracked He Who Remains and Renslayer to a small, wooden lab in Michigan. You walked through the orange glow of the TimeDoor to find Renslayer strapped with a pruning gun, as Victor cowered before her.
While Loki and Mobius shouted at her to stop, you had waited far too long to confront Renslayer to merely use words.
You charged at her, tackling her to the ground. The gun went off in the struggle, pruning random items around the room - a chair, an invention, a mannequin.
“Get. Off!” Renslayer grunted below you.
You drew your fist back and punched her right in the face. Renslayer shrieked and clutched her nose, which now had blood flowing from it and onto her cheek.
“You sent me to the void!”
You punched her again.
“You betrayed us!”
And again.
“I actually thought you were my friend!”
Again.
“You tried to kill the man I love!”
Before you could punch Renslayer again, arms wrapped around your waist pulling you off her. You fought against the hold, twisting around to find it was Mobius. Loki simply stood by the door, beaming at you proudly.
“That’s my girl.”
Ravonna lay on the ground, unarmed, slipping in and out of consciousness. She tried to push herself up on her forearms, but failed, falling back to the floor.
“You’ve lost your way, Renslayer,” you spat at her. “And you lost everything because of it.”
“You don’t know what it takes to lead,” Renslayer groaned between spits of blood. “You failed.”
You lunged at her again, but Mobius held you back.
“Think happy thoughts,” he tried to soothe. “Puppies, unicorns…jet skis.”
“I don’t know, Mobius, I think you should let her have another go.”
Sylvie appeared from behind you, drawing her sword from her side. She walked over to Timely who recoiled to a corner of the lab. Her blade scraped across the wood as she dragged it over to his quivering form. Loki went to stop her, but you threw your arm out, blocking him.
“Wait,” you told him.
Something felt different this time.
Sylvie held her blade up at the man’s throat - just close enough to feel like a threat, but not strong enough to pierce skin.
“Please,” Victor begged softly, looking up a Sylvie. “I haven’t done anything.”
“Oh, you will. You’ll do terrible things.”
“That isn’t me. You don’t know the heart I have beating in my chest,” a tear slipped down his face. “I can make my own choices.”
You watched as the words diffused into Sylvie’s mind.
I haven’t done anything.
That isn’t me.
I can make my own choices.
Victor Timely wasn’t He Who Remains. He was simply Victor Timely. And if Sylvie slaughtered him for something he could do, or someone he could become, wouldn’t that make her the same as those she despises? Wouldn’t that directly contradict the free will she preaches?
“Come on, Sylvie,” you whispered to yourself.
Sylvie’s bottom lip quivered and her grip on the sword wavered. She breathed heavily, as if she was at war with herself. Slowly, she turned and looked at you, a tear slipping down her cheek.
“Get him out of here.”
You nodded, retracting your arm and letting Loki rush forward. As him and Mobius gathered Victor, you walked toward the somber woman. You wiped the tear staining her cheek.
“The right things are always the hardest to do,” you spoke. “But we must do them anyway.”
She leaned into your touch and closed her eyes, nodding slightly.
Mobius opened a TimeDoor and instructed Victor to walk through. Loki followed him, glancing back at Sylvie.
“Don’t make me regret this,” she told him.
“I won’t,” he said before disappearing through the door, Mobius tailing after him.
“What are you going to do with Renslayer?” You asked Sylvie, nudging your head to the woman sprawled across the floor.
“I’m going to take her somewhere she can’t hurt anyone.”
A blanket of silence fell over the two of you, and you wondered if you’ve ever shared a moment that wasn’t at least slightly uncomfortable.
“Be safe, Sylvie,” you told her, touching her shoulder.
You walked away. And you didn’t look back.
