Bonus statistics: the Really Funny Graph Awards

As I've pointed out before, it's often hard to notice voter fraud— even in large quantities— if you can't see, not just how many votes came in, but when and in what patterns. Accusations of fraud don't track fraud, they track controversy; the most fraud often happens in polls that nobody particularly objects to, because nobody was paying attention.

Unless you have a graph in front of you. Fortunately, we do! So here's a brief review of the graphs that made it very, very clear to the mod team group chat that someone was playing silly buggers.

Round 1:

Davekat vs Zolu would almost even look natural, if it weren't for that enormous spike at the day 4 mark. But what a spike! And Akeshu vs Supercorp has those spikes in the middle, but the beginning stages of the graph look maybe fine... if you weren't watching for the first two days, and didn't get to see the progression:

Round 2:

This, on the other hand, couldn't be mistaken for natural by anyone. Look at this nonsense. The stairstep lines! The sharpness of the peaks! The sharpness of the dropoffs, which is how you can tell that this isn't just the poll being reblogged by large accounts, it is one person putting in truly insane amounts of effort! The fraud continuing long after Hualian had a significant lead, apparently just to make sure Buddie couldn't possibly launch a counteroffensive! Isn't it beautiful!

Round 4-5:

And once again, Hualian voters— or, well, some particular Hualian voter— goes nuts. Usually in 1-day polls, the votes come in fast enough that even with a graph it's hard to see if anything's gone wonky. Not so here; that bend in both graphs at around the same time, where I can only assume our frauder stopped for the night and went to bed, is a work of art.

Round 6:

No visible irregularities in the graphs (I assume they were just happy with getting to the semifinals?) but I did see this ask pop up:

I didn't see responses from anyone who took them up on it.

Real talk: This sort of thing is the reason I run poll brackets. This is proof that one person with insane dedication and a lot of time really can be the backbone of a fandom. This is, and I know this is melodramatic but I am being entirely sincere here, a chart of human passion.

I added HSR to my Genshin Sims 4 game and here are some more ridiculous shenanigans over the past few days: (this was all autonomous if you get on my ass about it being out of character you're cringe :3)

- When making the Sims, I purposefully gave Boothill, Aglaea, and Aventurine bugger asses. However, the ass that Sampo NATURALLY GENERATED WITH was even bigger. That just means it's canon now.

- Furina and Robin despise each other and I STILL don't know why.

- Caelus' autogenerated sleep outfit is Dan Heng's outfit. Kind of gay.

- Sparkle got Sampo addicted to ketamine

- Razor smoked a bong WHILE making edibles and then proceeded to eat the edibles while STILL high

- Aventurine practiced making alcoholic beverages for four in game hours and then proceeded to die of starvation (and Boothill couldn't convince the reaper to revive him)

- All of these Sims have so much sex it's fucking ridiculous

- Aventurine had one really bad LSD trip and cried

- Sparkle adopted a cat and it looks like it wants to escape

- March 7th and Sunday became best friends immediately upon meeting each other

- A burglar showed up to the Astral Express. Welt ran away screaming, Caelus tried to beat her up and lost spectacularly, Himeko called the cops, March did not give a fuck, and Stelle stayed asleep the entire time

- Boothill got Aglaea pregnant...Somehow.

- Aventurine reacted to that information like this.

- Have I mentioned how bad Sampo's ketamine addiction is yet? Sunday is not thrilled.

- Itto and Furina got married and it was a glitchy disaster. I had to tell them to get married at the altar about five times before they were finally married.

- On the second attempt to have them married, Razor and Gaming were sleeping together upstairs. And on the third attempt, Razor took a bong rip in the middle of the ceremony.

- Boothill set himself on fire TWICE, and Aventurine put out the fire BOTH times.

- Aventurine also got Aglaea pregnant. At least that one makes sense, given he actually has a dick.

- Baizhu apparently hates everyone except for Wriothesley

- Four Hertas invaded the household and Mr. Reca sold them all drugs

- Welt is apparently friends with the elderly Herta and finds her attractive.

- Boothill also finds one of the Hertas attractive.

- Aventurine almost died of hunger a second time but the game lagged enough that I could have him eat in time.

- Boothill, Wriothesley, and Firefly all constantly want to have kids. Boothill already has two kids.

- Boothill stood behind Aglaea just so he had an excuse to look at her ass.

- Robin invited Boothill out in public, immediately ditched his ass, and Boothill proceeded to do cocaine in the bathroom then go home.

- Boothill got sad because Aventurine was uncomfortable, and then Aventurine got sad because Boothill was sad. This happens a lot.

- Wonweek watches Sampo and Sunday sleep a lot. All the time, like every other night. My dude, chill.

- Every time Sunday and Sampo or Itto and Furina kiss they're actually just shoving their faces in the others' giant pecs because of the height slider mod. It's really funny to look at.

- I'm still not sure if Baizhu and Wriothesley are actually officially boyfriends, still. They literally have max romance and fuck constantly.

- Boothill and Wonweek are beefing with a plush toy.

- Everyone ate Razor's edibles and got incredibly fucked up. I think only Razor (the smallest one in the house) could handle them.

- Boothill has an alarming amount of weed in his inventory. I don't think he's smoked any.

- Robin stole Sampo's grilled cheese sandwich. Boothill then proceeded to steal Sunday's grilled cheese sandwich. I don't know why they're cheese thieves.

- Robin is uncomfortable and sad every time Sparkle is in the room, yet she still chooses to talk with her when she shows up.

- Sampo apparently does not like Aglaea and Aventurine's relationship.

- When Aventurine was still a ghost after dying of starvation, him and Boothill fucked and I got an achievement for it.

- Sampo and Boothill argued about politics over chess, which sounds like it'd end with a bullet wound to a head. Luckily for Sampo, I don't have Extreme Violence installed.

- No words. Just this face.

Just some things I think fit Gale <3

1: Ambidextrous. I dunno, I just think he would be an ambidextrous kind of person, maybe he just downplays it by writing with one hand or holding a staff or such with one hand (I know it’s like game mechanic but you get what I mean.)

2: Allergies to certain grasses and plants. I know there’s like a mod that’s called allergic Gale (yes I did download it) but like I think it also is cause as a child he was probably very sneezy and easily got sick so his mother kept him inside until he was at an age to like go to school and even then Mrs. Dekarios would always pick him up (he’s a mamas boy obviously)

3: Allergic to dogs? I don’t wanna think he’s a cat person just because he’s got Tara — my boy is probably allergic to a lotta things, so why not dogs? Maybe he gets a sniffle or a cough when Scratch comes around and is kinda nervous or something around any dog (my Tav loves dogs btw,,,but it’s okay she can settle with a kitty)

4: Green thumb. I believe that, probably, he’s a bit plant dad — a whole garden, or even some magical potted plants or something of the sort, he just loves to get his hands dirty with something other than magic missiles and fireballs, you know?

5: Just more than Tara…okay, now I believe as a cat person, you should have at the very least two cats — for Gale? He’d probably have two or three, including Tara (maybe a hairless cat like mine) and he loves his precious babies (yeah, he’s totally dad material) — giving them little nicknames, treating them like a human child and such. Don’t judge cat papa Gale, he’s going through it.

6: Spell scars. I always love to see when a wizard or sorcerer has scars or damage from spells, so why not our beloved wizard himself? He probably has a lotta damage, but I’d say the most prominent would be fire, electricity, or even a bit of radiant — or, maybe, he has a little bit of everything. He is a rather experimental guy, after all.

Now since I need it desperately, some things if Gale had a kid!

1: Shopping galore! You think a father could get anymore attached to their child? Thing again. Gale would buy everything and anything his baby needs or wants in a heartbeat, even if he’s low on gold — not all things he can conjure with the flick of a wrist, and a gummy smile always melts the man’s heart.

2: Father-Child nap sesh. Gale is a sucker for napping the day away with his little muchkin, whether it be reading a book to them, resting after a filling meal, or simply just sleeping to get the fatigue off — he’s got all the room to love, and he’d be in the most uncomfortable position or place if it meant his baby was cozy.

3: Lessons from pops. I assume he’d probably personally teach his son/daughter about the Weave and some minor spells, like a spell to clean or something, so they get an idea on what magic is — he’d praise them for every little success, comfort them and encourage them to keep trying even if they failed or messed up, full supportive dad moment, and we love him for that <3

4: Major papa bear. No way in the Realms would he let his kid get bullied, no sir. He’d storm to the parents of the kid who bullied his baby and either go on a rant about their inadequate parenting skills, warn them to keep their child away from his, or just warn the kid and intimidate the bugger (or try) — then he’d comfort his kid however he could.

Oh yeah, guess I should mention what put me on hiatus ahaha — Aside from regular burnout, I was also busy working on a mod for Stardew Valley these past few months!

After playing Stardew Valley for a while, you might've gotten married and wound up having or adopting children with your spouse... in which case, you would've ended up with two kids who never grow past the toddler stage and run about the house aimlessly. Well...

Growing Valley - Child NPCs lets those funky untalkative toddlers that wander your home grow up into fully-fledged NPCs!

This mod comes with six unique kids designed in appearance and personality to resemble six of the vanilla marriage candidates! There's also customizable kids to fill in for remaining situations, whether because you've married a modded spouse, or because your spouse of choice hasn't gotten a unique kid yet.

So far, Alex, Leah, Penny, Sebastian, Elliott, and Emily have gotten unique kids designed after them, but any child can be manually selected through the config to show up in place of the defaults.

Aside from being goofy little buggers who want to drink dye (well only Emily's daughter would try that... right?), they'll also wander around town, chat with you, and accept gifts like any other character. On a more personal note, I've been real happy to be able to return to pixel art; it's how I started out as an artist, so getting to flex exercise the skills I've developed since those early days has been a delightful opportunity!

I finally did it! I made my Mallow plush! I didn’t have a pattern but i managed to do it! It was sorta-kinda kitbashed together from other patterns, but actually after some trial and error, there was only one part that was taken semi-directly from an existing pattern, and even that had some pretty significant mods before I was done, so I kinda made it myself? Kinda. Not entirely I guess. Shoulders of giants, maybe. But I basically never crochet freehand at all, so this is huge for me!

so story time! When I was in fourth grade, one day I decided that I Wanted To Do A Sewing Project. I had no plan, no meaningful experience, no pattern, and not really enough supervision to actually make anything come together. I made some sock dolls of Mallow and Geno (SMRPG had come out a year or so prior, and I was still obsessed with it… some things never change, I suppose!) by just stuffing old socks with polyfill, putting enough stitches in them to make them slightly shaped, daubing them inexpertly with fabric paint, and tacking on a few bits of felt here and there for details. This is exactly what you’d expect from an inexperienced 9-year-old with unmedicated ADHD, of course! They were the UGLIEST things you’d ever seen. Special in the way that all sincere handmade crafts are special, but hooooo boy they were ugly buggers, lol. I wish I had some pics of them… I hung into them for a couple decades but they were lost in a flood a few years ago. Ah well.

anyway, I started crocheting almost exactly one year ago, and my goal when I started was to make Nice versions of Mallow and Geno. I eventually found a pattern for Geno (though it took some drama and a lot of searching), but I COULD NOT find a pattern for Mallow! I even had a couple Fiverr artists bail on me as I tried to pay them to make it (I’ve had great luck in Fiverr for cross-stitch patterns, guitar tabs, and general art, but I’ve had awful luck with it for crochet patterns), and so I eventually just decided I would make my own. Or at least make my own plush if not my own pattern. I wrote down what I was doing for all the paired parts (boots, arms, cheeks) to make them consistent, but maybe not the rest of it. Perhaps I’ll be able to write it down enough to help the next person who wants a Mallow plush? Maybe?

anyway I’m so proud of the fact that I finally made my Geno and my Mallow! He’s super squishy and soft, and I used special alpaca yarn for his body so he’s just extra cuddly. Size 3 yarn, size C hook, except for the belt buckle, which was six-strand embroidery floss (the whole six strands, not just one) on a size 10 hook (1.10 mm, I think? Whatever size 10 is).

I give you interesting news! A bunch of people are trying to make a proper successor to KSP after take two buggered KSP2 over so badly -the team has some very experienced Devs, but is mostly comprised of veteran modders and/or former KSP devs like blackrack (E.V.E), JPLrepo (Tarsier Space Technologies, KSP dev) and HarvesteR himself!

They've also built a new engine from the ground up which is meant to allow for a completely seamless experience -no loading screens

And it's super moddable already -the game's core assets are already loaded in as a mod and apparently pretty much everything is designed to be editable.
