We got a new oven a couple of months ago. Every time I turn it on it plays these three little notes that are exactly the progression that starts the song "Stand By Me". As a result I have been singing bits of Stand By Me almost every evening for weeks, driving my husband and kid crazy. These problems didn't exist with older ovens.

Sea the problem

One day what appears to be men in old fashioned diving suits walk out of the ocean, thousands of them. It's revealed that these are in fact mechanical suits driven by fish that inhabit the fishbowl-like helmet. They are able to translate their language into human speech and say that the seas have become an intolerable place to live and so they have decided to attempt to live on land alongside humanity.

How would humanity react to this scenario?

Would they be accepted or rejected and to what level?

What problems might arise? And what adaptations would humans make?

Would there be enough resources for everyone? Yes or no what would it mean for the future?

Is there something both species can learn from one-another? And how would that affect their development?

What would happen when they find out their plight was humanity's doing all along?

Fonts are my fucking nemesis. Have been since I was a kid and the amount of fonts we had was considerably tinier and yet the problem was the same. I want to use the font that has the exact vibe I'm feeling at the moment. But no existing font has the vibe I'm feeling at the moment. Anyone else feels the same

Here to have a little complaint because it's been on my mind. I have a younger cousin, nine years old she is, in year 4, primary school. I was out with her a couple weeks back in our local shopping centre and they had a small fair on for kids including face painting. Now my little cousin was really excited and asked if I'd wait in line with her to get her face painted which of course I said yes. As we were waiting I noticed a group of girls, around her age maybe a little older but 10/11 MAX, all in full nike with designer purses GLARING at my younger cousin and giggling at her for wanting to get her face painted. And like. What the fuck? I don't see anything wrong with a child being a child. However I don't blame these girls, I blame the way they were raised, societys expectations forcing them to think they had to be that way. What is happening to our youth is tragic. Tween years are being erased and teenagers practically have to be adults just to be deemed cool. It is sick. Let kids be kids.

Suggestions:

A) Have membership tiers:

Basic = access to library of movies with or without limited advertising

As the tiers go up, members have more access to modern tv shows or films -> limited availability content -> original content OR less advertising

B) use advertising to enhance viewer experience

The human mind can only focus 10-25 minutes straight. Why not use that and have short 5 minute advertising every 25 minutes?

The service can get advertising fees

Members experience greater enjoyment of the content after getting a break from it, and they don’t immediately despise whatever product is being advertised because the advertisement interrupted their focus or is taking too long.
