How do you see yokai living in modern society (ie, tengu, oni, kappa, etc)?

Wow, it's been a while since I've gotten an ask! But, I'm happy to answer! I'm not really that knowledgeable about yokai but, I think like most fantasy species living along side humans living in a modern society some of their culture/customs will probably be integrated within modernity. Especially yokai that immigrate to other countries. I would imagine that demons and oni would be confused for one another due to pretty basic similarities (red/colored skin, horn, fangs=demon=evil) but, demons and oni are pretty different from each other.

When writing an urban fantasy series it would be interesting to see species like that from other countries integrating into modern society to show the differences in culture and myths of said species rather than writing the same werewolves, vampires, faefolk. But, thank you for the question sorry that it's pretty vague but, I'm not well versed in yokai lore.
