The woman lifts her head slightly, eyes meeting the uniquely red and gold-colored ones of the larger demon in front of her. The two sit comfortably across from each other, legs crossed. "Hey, uh..." She takes a moment, trying to find the right words. "Would it be okay if I touched your hand? I was kind of curious about..."
Wukong holds out his hand to her without question. He wiggles his clawed fingers in front of her face momentarily before letting out a very monkey-like laugh. Lowering his hand palm up, he makes a grabbing gesture for her own hand.
Letting out a huff she smiles slightly, her own hand hovering just above his for a moment before touching him. Doing so her fingertips gently brush the top of his warm and surprisingly soft skin. Her touch is filled with a sense of wonder. She takes her time tracing the intricate patterns of his palm, feeling the warmth radiating from his body. Looking up she tries to gauge the monkey's reaction.
She notices that his smile is wider than before, revealing more of his sharp teeth. There was a sense of excitement on his face. Smiling in return, slowly she slid her fingers up to his own. Holding her palm and fingers against his, she measured the difference in size. Understandably his own palm was wider, and his fingers much longer. She couldn't help but feel small compared to him.
His hand felt strong and sure like he could never let go if he wanted. She could feel his strength in her own hand as if she were being enveloped in a safe cocoon. The feeling was surreal, and she wanted to revel in it for a while longer. His eyes were still locked with hers, and she felt the intensity of his gaze wash over her. As if in a trance, she was completely captivated by him.
Fingers slowly closing around hers, he gently took her smaller hand and squeezed it. When she squeezed his hand back, she couldn't help but marvel at the fact that she could touch The Monkey King at all.

Snippet from Chapter 3 of "A Tale Painted with Blood"
A Black Myth Wukong Fanfic
Sun Wukong x OC/Reader
Destined One x OC/Reader
Tumblr media
Snippet:
When I woke, there was a peach. A single peach, plump and golden in the morning light, and no Monkey.
I blinked at it, rubbing the haze from my eyes, the oddity of it settling like dust in the corners of my mind. A peach sitting near me—Monkey Boy’s version of a note, I supposed. That he would return? Maybe.
Maybe not.
I glanced around, half-expecting him to drop from the ceiling or leap from the shadows. Nothing. He must’ve gone scouting ahead, slipping away like a breeze, though why he didn’t wake me was a question that lingered like the scent of the fruit.
The wooden floor beneath me creaked as I shifted, crossing my legs and yawning without a care, the temple’s derelict walls echoing the sound. We’d holed up in this forgotten place for the night, a sanctuary once, the old walls telling a story of well-maintained care, now a skeleton of what it used to be. Monkey Boy had wiped the floor with a giant white wolfman before we settled here—the beast’s massive paws now silent, its lingering presence nothing more than a memory woven into the decaying structure.
It had a strange habit, that wolf. Every time it landed a hit on Monkey Boy, it would lick its bloodied paws, slow and deliberate, like it was savoring the taste of victory before it could claim the kill.
Savoring the taste of his blood…
A thousand questions fluttered through my mind, restless like birds trapped in a cage. Why was he here, adrift and solitary in this desolate place? Could he speak, or was silence his only companion? And why, the moment his eyes had met Monkey Boy's, did violence bloom in his veins, swift as a storm? But then again, everyone seemed to hurl themselves at Monkey Boy, as if drawn by some magnetic pull toward chaos. Maybe it was something in the wind, a call only they could hear, urging them to strike before they even thought to breathe.
When the fight had ended, I’d burst from my the stone, racing over to check on him. Deep gashes crisscrossed his chest and arms, blood slicking his fur and skin. But with one lazy swig from that gourd strapped to his back, the wounds began to knit themselves back together, as if the claws of that giant wolf had never touched him.
Naturally, I asked for a sip—just to heal the wolfman’s claw marks still burning across my own arm from a few days ago. But Monkey Boy, in all his maddening glory, held it just out of my reach, an eyebrow raised in smug amusement at my… antics.
Of course, I had to jump for it, trying to convince him it was purely for the sake of the cuts. But no, that knowing glint in his eyes said he wasn’t buying my story for a second.
And I mean, who could blame me? He looked utterly rejuvenated after drinking it, his wounds gone, his posture lazy yet strong. The scent of that brew wafted toward me—rich, warm, intoxicating… and maybe just a bit alcoholic.
Perhaps that magical elixir wasn’t meant for human consumption, or maybe he was just being his usual stingy self. Either way, after a few hopeless hops trying to snatch it from his grip, I decided to let him keep his mystery drink. If Monkey Boy wanted to be greedy with his precious brew, who was I to press? Besides, the last thing I needed was to find out firsthand what kind of hangover magic brings.
I shifted uncomfortably, rubbing my sore back, eyes lingering on the peach that sat innocently on the floor beside me. Sleeping on wooden planks was somehow worse than bedding down in dirt and moss—at least the earth had a softness to it. But a roof over our heads, even one as broken as this, was a luxury I had learned never to take for granted. In my old world, shelter had been a fleeting comfort, one I couldn’t always claim.
Truth be told, I could have nestled into the stone to sleep, hidden away in its embrace. But I didn’t. I didn’t want to leave him alone, not after his earlier… apprehension toward me. Call me soft, call me a fool, but I’d glimpsed something beneath all that bravado. In the rare moments when he thought no one was watching, where he forgot I was watching—those quiet instances before we became friends—I’d catch him staring at the sky, day or night, with a sigh. Not the kind of sigh that comes from exhaustion, but the kind that carries the weight of something unspoken. Something lonelier.
It was that sigh, that sliver of vulnerability, that kept me tethered to him. It’s why I pushed so hard, why I was relentless in pushing my way into his orbit, desperate to bridge the space between us. Desperate to call him a friend, even when he kept me at arm’s length.
I reached for the peach, cradling it in my palm. It had the same weight as the first one I’d found when I stumbled into this strange world—a curious heft, like it was stone beneath that deceptively soft skin. The other fruits we’d eaten had been light, forgettable, but these peaches? They felt heavy in a way that went beyond the physical. Almost… significant. I wondered, for a fleeting moment, what it meant. But as the thought drifted away like smoke, I brought the peach to my lips and bit down—

Fanfic Excerpt!!
So,, a little while ago, I said that I would be giving snippets during the writing process because I am very slow at writing.
I think that this specific section would be interesting to read, as well as give a 'in story' introduction to a little bit of the theme of this specific oneshot!!
Real quick, this is about the Cupid's Gun, EYESHOT AU, created by @dynamicsimp on tumblr!! Pls go check them out, they're really cool!!
Content Warning:
Descriptions of a crawling/wriggling feeling
Mention of something "rotting" in their body
Violence overall
The feeling of rejection by the mind
The body and mind "accepting" something that feels revolting
If any of this triggers you or make you uncomfortable, please stop reading, or continue with caution.
Context: Given my understanding of Wukong through a psychological standpoint, I feel like this would be his view on Macaque and Lovebug's relationship, and how he feels about it from the context of the Cupid's Gun, EYESHOT AU.
THIS IS MY INTERPRETATION.
Anyways,, here it is!!
(Please don't mind all the pauses, I was reading it out and couldn't remember where to pause without them. There will be less in the full fic!!)
Fanfic Excerpt #1 - Disgust
Wukong wasn’t scared of him. He wasn’t scared of much, to be fair, but especially not Macaque. Wukong could never fear any version of Macaque. What he felt was… extremely… disgusted? No, that wasn’t the right word.
It was hard for him to describe. Calling is disgust felt like a downplay on itself. It felt… like when he heard his voice, saw his form, felt any connection of their fur pressed together, he felt like there was something… writhing under his skin, a… a thing, crawling around in his stomach. Not butterfly’s, it was… it felt like a giant worm was wriggling itself into his stomach, making any nausea induced bile feel like it couldn’t get out of him. Like it was blocking his throat, making his skin feel like it psychically couldn’t cover all his flesh. Wukong wanted to take that parasite and rip it out of Macaque, to remove the thing that was making him act like a mindless demon, but… this feeling made him too nauseous to even consider touching Macaque, even if it was in a way that would make him reject it. To help him, to fix what had happened.
He wanted to get as far away from it as possible, that horrible rotting parasite that had taken over Macaque’s body. It was sickening. It wasn't fear, but a disgusting sensation that made him feel like his very mind was rejecting something that wasn’t even in his own bodily system. And the worst part was… Macaque’s body… his mind… it had accepted Lovebug. His body was Lovebugs home now.
And it was absolutely revolting.
End Snippet.
Let me know if you enjoyed this, and would like me to keep giving snippets of the fanfic I'm writing. Also let me know if you would want an audio version, as I always make an audio version of everything I write, but I'm willing to share it.
Make sure to keep up with updates, and go check out @dynamicsimp!! ♡♡♡

@delugedecade sent "Some Like It Rough v1 2A : Neo has to pay back Hozukimaru for bailing her out of jail, again."
Some Like it Rough V1: 2A
He swore she was doing it on purpose at this point. I mean, how else could he explain it? She was possibly the most skilled assassin in the entire region—she had gotten away with more crimes on her record than he had lovers in each city they visited—and for Hozukimaru, that was definitely saying something!
Yet despite all her skills, the four-foot-six expert in espionage and assassinry somehow always thrown in prison for the most mundane of reasons, and needed him to bail her out.
"You know, Neo~" the hulking barbarian groaned as leaned over her, folding the curvy shortstack in an upside-down full-nelson, his massive cock ramming away into her ass, "if you want me to fuck you stupid~ all you have to do is ask~!"
The curvy shortstack could only squeal and moan in reply—the way he folded her pinned her arms to her sides, so she had no way of responding to him. Still, she let a delighted and lewd smile spread across her face, and she nuzzled back into the ape-man's broad chest as she took his punishing fucking with absolute delight.
"Don't you give me that~" her companion muttered, though a smirk had started to spread across his face as well as he drilled his cock harder down into her—his tail curled and coiled around her waist under him and hooked back on itself to hold her tight against him. "Use your words next time~ tell me what you—oof!"
His mocking tone was cut off by the firm headbutt to his chest, and as he pulled back he held back a chuckle at her pouting puffed up cheeks as she glowered up at him. "Oi, don't look at me like that—you know you can use your words!"
The expert assassin glared up at him, before huffing and flipping her wrist, pulling a sign out from nowhere to face up at him. [Yeah, but it's not as fun~] it read, and her pouty expression turned into a playful smirk. One that made Hozukimaru grin.
"Why you~ well, if fun's what you want~!!" he growled, before gripping her tighter and holding her fully up off the ground—immediately, Neo let out another shrill squeal of delight, and began to moan out wantonly as the hung as hell ape-man began plowing ruthlessly into her, fucking her even harder than before, her body jerking and bucking in ecstasy.
Outside their room, the rest of their party grimaced, knowing this would take a while.

Hello, about the Warlords au, would it be ok to ask for a snippet or a hc of how the 4 siblings meeting and interacting with reader would be like?
Cause what would be readers reaction to MK (Xiaotian)?
Currently I have a short snippet meeting chapter thing In the works four different ones to be precise because there are four different meetings and I got an ask slash request for how those meetings!
So I’ll just give you some Head-cannons
- Mk is surprised to find out Reader has a daughter (Bai he), he takes a liking to her and sees her as a young girl who needs to be protected. She is just the sweetest girl in his opinion and is more than happy to bring her all the sweets she wants.
- Mk sees Bao as a responsible adult with a strong aura. (This boi thinks he’s a very strong warrior and challenges him to a dual). He quickly associates him as an older brother figure!
- Mk sees Tao as a mischievous and fun person to be around. He is in awe by his amazing knowledge of all things mechanics and electronic and was ecstatic when Tao lets him DRIVE his ‘car’.
- For both of the twins, MK doesn’t realize that they look so much like his dads because they both wear glamours. They don’t often wear glamours to look human and just look like monkey demons. This give them several nasty looks from people who don’t like monkey demons or those who just don’t like the Monkey Kings.
- Bao sees Mk as a young boy who needs to be watched closely. He thinks he’s reckless and stubborn but at the same time he sees him as someone he can trust at least to a point. He is the first to figure out who he is by his nervous rambling, the way he looks and his companion (Redson who is glamoured) He doesn’t say anything about it but he knows that Mk is the Monkey Kings son, and while he is still VERY mad at them he holds nothing against MK. After all Mk is his little brother, weather he realizes it or not.
- Bao sees Tao as a stubborn and reckless brother. He doesn’t like how he gets angered easily but not because he gets mad, in truth he doesn’t like how he shows his anger on his sleeve. Bao is able to hold in his anger much better than his bother for almost anything except for those who attack those he cares about. He’s always at his bother’s back and will do anything to help him.
- Bao sees Bai He as a little munchkin! He adores her and would do anything in his power to protect her. While he is the stricter brother he knows about Bai He’s habit of sneaking into the kitchen at midnight and swiping a cookie (Everyone knows but she only takes one and goes right back to bed after drinking some milk with it). He loves his little sister and loves to bring her gifts and take her out to the park for a nice day.
- Tao sees Mk as a cool kid who is smart and strong. It takes him longer to figure out who his dads are compared to his brother but he realizes it pretty soon. (AKA when someone attacks the city and Mk is the first to defend followed by his bothers) This of course makes him start referring to him as his brother. He loves his little brother but he gets paranoia over his family’s safety which results in him giving Mk an earring as a gift, an earring that has a tracking device within it~ Oops.
- Tao sees Bao as a stubborn and strict brother. He loves to tease him and push him out of his comfort zone. He is the first to notice when Bao falls in love with two different women and he is the one who went to talk to them (Behind his bother’s back). He pushed his brother to speak with them after learning they were both for a poly relationship and is his number 1 wingman.
- Tao sees Bai He as the cutest child EVER. He loves her and will spoil her with gifts whenever he can. He knows that she loves to draw and that she loves cats. Whenever he is in charge of watching her he likes to visit Sandy’s to see the cats and to work on his own cars/vehicles.
- Bai He sees Mk as a cool friend who deserves to eat all the noodles he wants. She is a very smart child and knows that Mk seems to be battling with something. She doesn’t know what it is but also doesn’t really care, she just wants to help him smile. She soons sees him as a brother when Mei talks about how Mk is Mei’s brother.
- Bai He sees Bao as the strict older brother who keeps her safe and away from harm. He doesn’t let her play with certain people and makes sure to check on her whenever he can. She loves him but sees him as a strong brother.
- Bai He sees Tao as ‘the fun brother’ who will let her get away with certain things that her mother and Bao would never let her do. Include eating half a dozen cookies!! She was extremely hyper after that and Tao was lectured for an entire hour by his mother, brother, Pigsy, and even Tang!
- Reader sees Mk as a strong monkey demon who has a troubled relationship with his dads. She understands he is feeling pressured to go home but she also wants him to know that he is always welcome to stay with her or Pigsy whenever he needs. She cares about him and slowly sees him as a son.
- Her reaction to learning he is her ‘ex’-husbands child?
The boy in front of you stood nervously, his six ears drooped as tears welled in his eyes. He was doing his best to hold back tears as his body shook. He looked terrified to learn what You would say, he didn’t want to hear the rejection.
Lifting his face with your hands you couldn’t help but let out a half sob, half chuckle. You could have been there, you could have helped him if you had gone back to the island. You had thought about it, you had planned to go back one day. If you had then you would have been able to help raise him. The boy who felt scared of loosing the ones he cares about and fears the idea of someone rejecting him for anything.
“You look like your dads, the perfect mix really,” You chuckled through tears as you pulled him into a hug. He collapsed in your arms as he sobbed.

Reverse Taken (To Catch a Thief)
I could put this on AO3... but then I would have to write full chapters. And you all KNOW how I am about my chapters. They are long- and complicated- and- and this is an AU of an AU people. I got ideas for snippets, but if I sit down and actually try to write a fanfic about this-
.... I might lose my mind.
SO TAKE THE SNIPPETS! (I hope you enjoy)
Summary: MK meets "the Spider Prince" for the first time
----------------------
“Finally-“ Red Son’s shoulders were lifting and falling, a bubble of maniacal cackling working up from the back of his throat. Mei leaned back a little as it erupted to a full crescendo, “That little Thief's ruin is here!!”
“Okay, Red Son-“ Mei began to say
“Can you feel it Dragon Horse girl?! The end to our suffering!” He threw his arm out, his hair messy, and clothes stained.
Mei grimaced, “When was the last time you got sleep man?”
“I’ll sleep when this nuisance is out of our hair!” Red Son’s hair fumed, tinkering with the trap-triggering device for the 10th time.
While Mei was all for getting this guy out of their hair, she wasn’t exactly on board with Red Son losing sleep over it. “Nothing says “I’m obsessed over you” like an elaborate 30-step plan of capture,” she whistled, eyeing the schematics.
Red Son grouched over his shoulder, “I am not obsessed.”
”Right right,” she nodded, “Can’t be fantasizing about the enemy, totally get it.”
Red Son was sputtering, his hair erupting into sharp flames, “F-Fantasizing?! I do not- That ruffian is-“
”Clever, the bad boy type, has a cute face- He’s your type,” she snorted, eyeing a wrench as she said this. As casual as mentioning the weather. She smirked when he continued to fume and disagree, sounding like a high-pitched steam pipe.
“Shut up, Mei!” Red Son shouted, swatting the air dismissively. “I have no ‘type! I am simply showing them that one should never mess with the son of the Demon Bull King!’” A nervous chuckle escaped him as he tried to suppress the flush creeping across his cheeks. He concentrated on his device again, though the intricate mechanisms were starting to blur in front of his eyes.
She didn't miss a beat, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall. “Oh please, just admit it,” she teased. “You want to catch him and then... what? Make him pen a love letter that starts with ‘Dear Red Son, I can’t stop thinking about your smoldering hair and striking remarks’? Are you going to serenade him under the moonlight after you pin him down? I hear Demons used to gain their mates that way. Court napping,” she smirked. “You were raised in the ways of olden times~”
Red Son whipped around, his eyes wide with a mix of fury and embarrassment that flared into a fresh wave of heat. “I’m not some lovesick fool!” he yelled, his voice cracking slightly as he tried to regain composure. “This is about—about justice! That bastard has been making a mockery of everything I’ve built!”
“Right,” Mei replied innocently, pressing her lips together to stifle laughter. “A mockery or your unending attraction?”
Red Son opened his mouth to retort, but the words tangled in his throat, “T-There’s no way he could ever—ever—live up to my rank and standing!” He had barely even seen the man’s face for Pete’s sake! How dare she assume he had anything but loathing to the thief.
Before he could spit a slew of curse words at her audacity, the door was sliding open behind them. The ace to their plan had arrived.
“MK!” Mei threw her arms up, running to the arriving Monkey Prince. He stood like a light in the dark, his chocolate hair curled back, a spot of color above his eyes to highlight the golden traits he inherited from his Father. He grinned, and if you were to look at it for long enough, you might mistake it for the sun itself.
"Mei," he says, extending his arms out. They embraced, chuckling as they nuzzled foreheads.
“Glad you could make it.”
”Well, my Dad is in town to talk with your grandpa, so it works out. I told him we were testing Red Son’s latest invention.” Which wasn’t a lie, and thus slipped below his Father’s all-knowing eyes of detection. In truth, there was a new invention- all with the intent of catching some troublesome thief Mei and Red Son had been struggling to take care of. He was honestly surprised that neither was having luck with this guy.
Apart of the Spider Queen’s crew, as far as they all knew. A well-known spy for her forces, but never one to really show himself publicly. He was a Demon Monkey, as far as most were concerned. Not many sightings to fully confirm, far too sneaky. It was only because of Mei and Red Son that they knew for sure he was- but it was always far too dark to see his face. Only that tail of his curling behind him was their true indication.
“A rouge monkey sure is odd,” he wonders. If he had told his Dad the truth, he probably would have wanted to investigate it himself- as King of the Monkeys. MK wanted to try his hand at it first, however. As the Future King, it was kind of his job. At least it felt like his job.
“So exactly why do you need me?” he inquired, eager to help where he could.
“Your eyes,” Mei tapped her temple. “This guy- he always strikes at night, when it is dark. Even with my eyes, it’s just- ughh, he’s so annoying. I can barely see him.” Like the guy was just one with the dark. ”But you, you got that super awesome Gold vision! Doesn’t matter how dark it is, you’ll be able to see him. So he can’t get away if he manages to get out of the trap Red Son set up.”
Speaking of, they both looked over to their friend hunching down to connect some power cables. A real cat-and-mouse chase going on. Seems Red Son was the one most affected by this demon- too much of his supplies swept right from under his nose!
“You are just a precaution.” Red Son grumbled. “This plan is fail-proof.”
“Do we know what this guy even wants?” MK inquired.
Mei shrugged, “I dunno. He steals metal and tools from Red Son.”
“If I look at the list of everything together, it is hard to give an accurate theory. However, these are building materials at their finest. For Mei, most of her stolen items are relics. Perhaps intended to pull the power from.” He sighs, rubbing his eyes. “I can only assume it is with the intention to build something. Spider Queen is always scheming.”
Mei cracked her knuckles, “And losing!” Whenever she showed her face, her Grandpa was always quick to knock her back down. Of course, it would be great if they could actually capture the lady to end this- but she always managed to slip away.
Mei was starting to feel like it was thanks to this little thief. So, if they deal with him, the next time they deal with Spider Queen, they could nab her too. Two birds, one stone.
“Huh, okay,” MK eyed the schematics. They seemed far too complicated for a simple thief. “Isn’t this a little overkill?”
”Hardly,” Red Son scoffed. ‘You haven’t dealt with this peasant before. Believe me, I should be adding more.” When MK looked at Mei for confirmation, she shrugged lightly but nodded.
“Then, how are you so positive he’ll show up tonight?”
”We set out some bait,” Mei smirked, showing her social media account. ”Red Boy over here figured out that must be how this guy is learning what Red Son has in stock cause-“
”Cause YOU can’t keep yourself from vlogging in my workshop and revealing everything I have!” Red Son barked, making her flinch and laugh sheepishly.
“Yeahhhh-“ she snickered, “So, I vlogged myself by all his new stock. Upgrades, metal, tools- Shiny things galore! He won’t be able to resist.” As she was positive most of the stuff he stole from her was not because he needed it, but because it was shiny. “He’s like a moth. He’ll show.” She slammed her fists together, ‘And when he gets here, we’ll bag him, get his number for Red Son, and then off to jail he goes!”
“Right-!!” MK trailed off, “Wait, what was that about Red Son-?”
“Nothing!” Red Son barked, his cheeks flushing a deep crimson. He shot Mei an incredulous glare that only seemed to fuel her teasing grin.
Tumblr media
Mk chuckled, shifting his weight on the balls of his feet, “Come on, you can't just drop a bomb like that and not expect me to question it.”
“It’s nothing!” Red Son shrieked.
He pushed MK out of the workshop, giving him a spot to hold the position of. “Just wait here. Keep your eye out. If he manages to escape, which he won’t, but just in case, you need to block his exit.”
MK nodded, taking his position outside the edge of Red Son’s workshop. It was just outside the city, in a little mini apartment he owned. His own personal space away from his parents to work on his own time and schedule. It had been good for him- finding himself and what he wanted after he moved out of his parents. Really made him feel… grownup. Of course, compared to Mei and him, Red Son was. He was 21 almost 22, while they were 19. MK hadn’t even considered the idea of- moving. He could, if he wanted to, but it felt strange to want to leave the Mountain, the tribe… For the time being he mostly spent his time learning the ropes of being King from his Dad. Doing some hero work here and there in defense of humans.
He wouldn’t even know where he would go if he did leave home. Would he get a job? Travel? He shook his head,
As the night deepened, MK's senses sharpened. His golden eyes scanned the perimeter, alert for any sign of movement.
Hours passed uneventfully. Just as MK was beginning to wonder if their trap would work, a flicker of motion caught his eye. A shadow, darker than the night itself, detached from a nearby building and slunk towards the workshop.
MK tensed, sinking a little lower as he watched it slip into Red Son’s apartment. He wasn’t quite sure what he expected from Red Son’s plan, but he hadn’t really expected it to work.
Because it did.
Well, kind of.
MK was starting to get the idea of what Mei and Red Son meant when they said “This guy was tricky to catch”. Red Son’s plan was to get some inhibitor cuffs around the thief, to prevent him from using any demonic powers. From the ZAP and spark of blue, that seemed to have worked- or, the cuffs had at least been activated.
A moment later, however, all hell seemed to break loose within the apartment. Chairs were tossed, and furniture toppled.
MK winced as he heard the crashing and banging from inside. Red Son's shrill voice pierced through the chaos, yelling obscenities and threats. Mei's laughter rang out, punctuated by more crashes.
"Uh, guys?" MK called out hesitantly, pressing to the communicator in one of his six ears. "Everything okay in there?"
"Just peachy!" Mei's voice crackled through the communicator, breathless with exertion and amusement. "Our little thief is quite the acrobat! Got the cuffs on him but the net didn’t really work- Gah!” Mei sounded like she was tripped.
A loud crash followed her words, accompanied by Red Son's indignant shriek. "Stop jumping around, you insufferable primate!"
MK shifted uneasily, torn between maintaining his position and rushing in to help. The sounds of the struggle continued, punctuated by occasional flashes of light visible through the windows.
Suddenly, a dark figure burst through one of the upper windows, glass shattering outward. A blur shot against the fire escape, landing nimbly on the metal. MK's eyes widened as he got his first clear look at the elusive thief.
It was indeed a monkey demon, lithe and agile, with a long fluffy tail. Light fur- nearly white, with a tint of green. He couldn’t quite see their face.
The thief's wrists were bound by glowing blue cuffs, but he seemed unfazed as he vaulted over the railing, scaling the drain to the roof top above using just his feet and tail.
“He’s loose! MK-!” Red Son bellowed.
"On it!" MK shouted into his communicator, already in pursuit. His feet barely touched the ground as he raced after the fleeing thief, golden eyes locked on the shadowy form ahead.
The thief was fast, weaving through rooftops and shooting across powerlines with inhuman agility. But MK was no ordinary pursuer. He closed the gap steadily, his own monkey-like grace allowing him to match the thief's acrobatics.
As they raced across the city skyline, MK caught fleeting glimpses of his quarry. The demon monkey's fur gleamed nearly silver in the moonlight, and there was something oddly familiar about the way he moved. MK shook off the nagging feeling, focusing on the chase.
“Hey!” he called, a strange- bubbling sensation in his chest. It startled him.
Whole
Like a punch to his gut, he staggered, barely catching himself when the two leaped over a massive gap between buildings. He rolled to press his palms to the floor, on his knees and panting.
What??
Whole
He felt like his soul was being pieced together, suddenly and without warning. Flushes of sensations and warmth were coming to him. The strange sensations were intensifying, making it hard to focus. He touched his hand to his chest, wheezing. His other half? Here? Close? Where??
WHERE?!
When he looked up, he found the thief paused, having whipped around to face him. He had no reason to stop- in fact, he could have used this as his chance to gain a serious lead to MK, but the Monkey did stop.
His eyes were wide, his tail puffed and curled around him. For the first time that night, MK could see his eyes. They were auburn and frantic- as frantic as his own. As panicked as his own.
He had a marking like a butterfly against his face. His face seemed so… strikingly familiar.
Tumblr media
The thief stood frozen, his auburn eyes locked with MK's golden ones. Narrowed like a cornered animal, only to soften the moment their eyes locked.
For a moment, the world seemed to fall away, leaving just the two of them suspended in this strange, charged moment.
His other half. It was him...!
"Who... who are you?" MK managed to gasp out, his voice barely above a whisper. He stood, his knees shaky.
The thief's tail twitched nervously, his bound hands flexing against the glowing cuffs.
The thief's mouth opened, then closed, as if struggling to find words. His eyes darted between MK and the path behind him, clearly torn between flight and... something else. "I..." the thief started, his voice low and hesitant. "I don't..." his eyes suddenly softened- vulnerable as he looked upon MK. “A-Are you-?” he stammered, his voice small.
He was cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps and Red Son's angry shouts growing closer. The thief's eyes widened in panic, and he took a step back, ready to bolt.
"Wait!" MK cried, reaching out instinctively. "Please, I... I feel like I know you! I… It’s you- isn’t it?!” he pleaded. His other half. His other half!! It had to be! It felt so right. He got closer- closer- blocking out whatever might be behind him.
He was standing face to face with this Monkey, who trembled like a leaf in the wind. Ready to bolt at a moment's notice like a frightened kitten.
The thief hesitated, his eyes darting between MK and the approaching voices. For a moment, it seemed he might flee, but then his shoulders sagged, and he took a tentative step towards MK. "I... I feel it too," he whispered, his voice trembling. "Like I've known you my whole life, but we've never met." his brain was screaming at him to run- but his heart, his soul- everything he was from his toes to the tip of his head knew- he had to stay. This was right where he belongs.
MK was nodding wildly, “Yeah- Yeah exactly!” he choked. His heart raced as he reached out, his fingers barely brushing the thief's cheek. A jolt of electricity seemed to pass between them at the contact, and both gasped.
The thief leaned into MK's touch, his eyes fluttering closed for a moment. When he opened them again, they were filled with tears. “O-Oh-”
They were whole....
Years of just- just empty existence seemed to weight on their shoulders. They had gotten accustomed to this life. When one was forced to, they could adapt to anything. But to suddenly be given light at the end of the tunnel- it was staggering.
MK surged forward, tugging this man into a hug. If his hands weren’t bound, the thief would have clung to MK with all he had, but for now, all he could do was nuzzle into the Prince’s shoulder. The two were sinking to the floor, small sniffles coming from one, and little chirps coming from the other. MK was nearly tucking the other against him, hiding him away from the world.
He didn’t understand what was going on. How this thief was- was everything he had been looking for, but it didn’t matter. He was here. He was real. And MK was never letting him go again.
The two monkeys clung to each other, their bodies trembling with the intensity of their connection. MK felt as if he'd found a piece of himself he hadn't even known was missing. The thief's scent, his warmth– it all felt achingly familiar and utterly right.
"I've been looking for you," MK whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I didn't even know I was looking, but I've been searching my whole life."
The thief nodded against MK's chest, his bound hands awkwardly between them. "I've felt so lost," he murmured, his voice muffled. "Like I was missing something vital. But now..." He pulled back slightly, gazing into MK's eyes with wonder. "Now I feel whole." he was blubbering at the end, tears so easily flowing from his cheeks.
MK's heart swelled with an overwhelming mix of joy and protectiveness. He brushed a tear away from his own cheek, giving a weak laugh, “What is your name?”
The thief lifted his shoulder to awkwardly rub his cheek to the fabric, trying to clean his face a tad, “Xiaozhizhu.” he murmured.
"Xiaozhizhu," MK repeated softly. Little… Spider. Ooh- uhhh- it’s fine. It’s fine.
“You don’t like my name,” the man says immediately. MK flinched, stunned he- no, no it wasn’t shocking. Of course, Xiaozhizhu realized. He must have felt how MK recoiled. When MK stammered to explain, Xiaozhizhu’s eyes were set and scrutinizing- almost like he was reading something. “You don’t like spiders,” he says next. A single glance into MK’s mind was all he needed- and something he wasn’t even aware he could really do until that moment. It just came so naturally. As easy as reading a book. “I-I didn’t mean to pry,” he says, realizing what he did now was odd.
MK was wide-eyed, shaking his head, “No no, it’s fine. You… You like spiders,” he took could peer into Xiaozhizhu’s head. Small glimpses and emotions. “They are family to you.”
“Yeah…” Xiaozhizhu nods. “B-But… What is your name?” he perked up a little, tail relaxing, naturally reaching and coiling for MK’s.
“I’m Qi Xiaotian, but I also go by MK.”
Xiaozhizhu's eyes widened in recognition. "The Monkey Prince? I... I've heard stories about you." A flicker of worry crossed his face. "I'm not... Oh, you are here to arrest me.”
MK and Xiaozhizhu both pale. Oh yeah…
With imperfect timing, Red Son and Mei were vaulting behind them, tracking the two using MK’s communicator. “You got him, MK!” Mei whooped.
Red Son stomped forward, his hair flaming with irritation. "Finally! Hand him over, Noodle Boy! It's time this pest faced justice!"
Xiaozhizhu was sinking against MK, hiding his face behind his other half. His ears were flat, eyes trembling.
MK's heart raced as he looked between Xiaozhizhu and his approaching friends. He couldn't let them take him - not now, not when he'd just found his other half. He could feel the churning thoughts of Xiaozhizhu’s own panic- his fear for a cage. His fear of his freedom being taken away. Of letting down his family. Of being alone… again.
No.
In a split second decision, he grabbed Xiaozhizhu's bound hands.
"I got you," he whispered, catching Xiaozhizhu’s startled eyes. He gave a little wink then loudly called out, "OH NO! He's getting away!" With that, MK leapt off the roof, pulling Xiaozhizhu with him. Mei and Red Son were sharply calling after them, running to the edge to peer down. The two plummeted several stories before MK's staff extended, catching on a nearby building and swinging them to safety in the window of the building they clung to.
MK and Xiaozhizhu tumbled through the open window, landing in a heap on the dusty floor of what appeared to be an abandoned office. They lay there for a moment, hearts racing, before MK scrambled to his feet and helped Xiaozhizhu up. He checked him off, dusting off shards of glass.
“Sorry, that was dumb. Sorry-We need to get those cuffs off," MK whispered urgently, glancing towards the window where he could hear Red Son and Mei's distant shouts.
Xiaozhizhu nodded, holding out his bound wrists. "I don’t know how-”
MK was grasping the edges, eyebrows furrowing, “Don’t move.” He concentrated, his eyes glowing with golden energy as he grasped the cuffs. With a sharp twist and a burst of power, the inhibitor cuffs cracked and fell away. Xiaozhizhu gasped as his powers rushed back, flexing his newly freed wrists.
"Thank you," he breathed, rubbing his arms. His eyes darted nervously to the window. "You- You didn’t have to do that.”
“I wanted to,” MK says. He reached out, gently taking Xiaozhizhu's hands in his own. They chuckled, putting their hands out to let them connect- to feel the connection in detail. "I couldn't let them take you. Not when I've just found you."
Xiaozhizhu's eyes softened, a small smile tugging at his lips. "But... won't you get in trouble? They're your friends, aren't they?"
MK shrugged, his thumb absently tracing circles on Xiaozhizhu's palm. "I'll figure something out. What matters is that you're safe."
The distant shouts of Red Son and Mei grew closer. MK quickly scrambled into his pocket, pulling out a pen. Biting the top of the cap to uncap it, MK quickly scribbled his phone number on Xiaozhizhu's arm. "Call me, okay? We need to talk more, and figure this out. But for now, you need to go."
Xiaozhizhu nodded, his eyes locked on MK's. He clutched his hand closer, careful not to smudge the numbers, "I will. I promise." Tears welled in his eyes again. “Ahh-” he rubbed them with his other hand, slowly inching back.
MK gave a little chuckle, “Cry baby,”
Xiaozhizhu gave him a mild look of anger, “Bye… Xiaotian.”
“Bye, Xiaozhizhu.” MK lifted his hand, prepared to fend off his friends from pursuing Xiaozhizhu with a fake injury or something along the lines, not sure how much time the guy needed. Yet, it was only when Xiaozhizhu stepped into the shadows- stepping right into them, that he understood how he always got away from Red Son and Mei with such ease.
He could manipulate shadows??
MK stood, dumbfounded. It was then that he understood why Xiaozhizhu seemed so familiar. He was the spitting image of his Baba.
Stunned that thought, he stood there with his mouth hanging open, startled when Mei and Red Son were carefully moving through the shattered window to join him.
MK quickly schooled his expression, trying to look disappointed and frustrated as Mei and Red Son clambered through the window.
"What happened?" Mei demanded, her eyes scanning the room. "Where'd he go?"
"I... I lost him," MK said, running a hand through his hair in feigned frustration. "He slipped away when we landed. He's incredibly fast and agile."
Red Son let out a string of colorful curses, kicking a nearby desk. "I can't believe this! We were so close!"
"Did you at least get a good look at him?”
MK hesitated, still not sure what to make of Xiaozhizhu’s face. His Baba’s face. “I... I did see him up close," he admitted carefully. "But it was dark, and everything happened so fast..."
Red Son was throwing his head back with a groan, miffed. Mei on the other hand stood there, staring openly at MK. She titled her head confused.
...Too dark?
But it was never too dark for MK.
Not sure what happened she placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, MK. Any details you can remember could help us track him down. We’ll get him next time. You got closer than any of us did! Now you know what to expect for next time."
MK swallowed hard, his mind racing. “Yeah…” he mumbled. MK nodded, trying to look determined. "You're right. We'll get him next time." He forced a smile, hoping his friends couldn't see the turmoil in his eyes.
As they made their way back to Red Son's workshop, MK's mind whirled with questions. How was Xiaozhizhu connected to his father? Why did he look so much like him? And most importantly, how was he going to protect his newfound other half while still being loyal to his friends and his duties as the Monkey Prince?
This Summer suddenly got a lot more complicated…

@bluefrogbubbles, your tag made me think, and honestly I wanted to do something with these four for a while now😭, it might become a full fic, I just need to flesh it out a bit, but we'll see, for now I hope this little snippet will feed you.
------------
My Monkey, My Circus.
How dare he come to the East Blue, how dare he show his face here. When Buggy heard from his scouts that Shanks was in the East Blue he was livid, mostly because Shanks had already been gone from the East Blue for more than a year now, he so mad in fact he had his scouts track what island Shanks had docked at, just so that he could raid it.
The trip to Dawn was uneventful, nothing worth noting, except for the gaint sea king that swam around the island, the place didn't look half bad. While his crew was busy docking the ship on the far end of the island Buggy decided to look around. The forest was dark and the trees loomed over him, he ignored the uncomfortable feeling in the back of his mind, after a bit of walking he saw a young boy, not to far up-ahead. Buggy would have ignored the small boy if it wasn't for the straw hat on his head, and before he knew it he was stomping towards the boy, looming over him.
"Hello, little boy, what are you doing out here all alone?" Buggy asked, his smile forced.
The boy turned around and looked up at him confused, Buggy noticed a scar underneath his eyes, wondering slightly how the boy may have gotten it.
"Looking for bugs, my brothers said I wasn't allowed to go hunting with them, not after I almost got eaten by a crocodile. " he said as his face changed, and a bright, almost blinding smile was directed towards him that made Buggy completely forget why he had approached they boy in the first place.
Then the boy's words registered in his head and his face fell in horror, why on earth was a child alone in the forest looking for bugs while his brothers were hunting, why wasn't he at his house waiting for them there, didn't this child know there were dangerous people out there, Buggy's train of thought was interrupted when he heard the boy speaking again. "Who are you mister?" he asked
Buggy gave him a grin and posed dramatically, "I am the great Buggy the Clown, the flasiest pirate in all of the seas!" he boasted, "now who are you little boy?", "I'm Monkey D. Luffy! And I'm going to be king of the pirates!" the boy, Luffy, declared, and Buggy couldn't help but stare on in slight awe at the boy's audacity.
Suddenly there was a snap of a branch and before Buggy could react he was getting hit from almost all angles by pipes? He quickly split apart and as he did he noticed two other boys, they looked older than Luffy, those must be his brothers Buggy guessed, but he didn't have time to ponder because all three brats have suddenly ran off, if Buggy was a better man he would have ignored them and left back to his crew, but Buggy wasn't a better man, and those pipes hurt.

Honestly so fun writing this,

Status update: At the moment as I'm writing this I'm at 1,912 words. And I've barely gotten to the middle of the first finale episode.
So for now... Have a snippet of the plot!
MK spun his staff around, dodging a strike from the Monkey King. He leapt over his mentor as the monkey dodged his every move, arms behind his back. MK began to swing harder and harder towards Wukong, making each impact hurt even more. He gritted his teeth as Wukong stumbled back.  "Woah, kiddo! Ease up a little, okay? No need to hit so hard!" he said. "No! I gotta be stronger to avoid that... That monster from taking me!" MK yelled, digging his staff into the ground. Wukong frowned, his gaze losing it's usual spark. "I know, kiddo. And... I'm sorry about that happening. I wish I could've done more and knew when to stop him but I just-" "Monkey King. What's happened in the past is over. What matters is dealing with that king now before he harms anyone else." "Huh. You're taking this way better than I expected." "Really? Heh, that's great!" MK strained a smile. Wukong winced. "Okay, less well."
Nice!! This is great 😊 MK for sure is working hard to get stronger in the DKR AU.. his fear hampers that a little, but he’s doing his best! Can’t wait to see the rest, that’s so many words already 🙌

Hopeful Date
Just a snippet of an idea discussed on two separate Discord servers with @draw-of-the-moon, @mostie01, and @rain-bow-donkey, wanting to keep my writing skills sharp!
-_-
Okay, remember what Monkey King said. Confidence is key.
Qi Xiaotian took a deep breath in, paused and prayed he wasn't sweating over his rented suit, and let it out. It was fine. He was fine. Sun Wukong was managing the bidding and Xiaojiao was in the audience as a bid to make sure he didn't end up with a creep.
A creep that was paying for a date. With him.
Okay, step back. How did he get into this situation? Right, Wukong had asked him to be the star bachelor in Monkey Magic, the environmental charity that Wukong ran to help nature reserves across China, and the annual bachelor auction. He had agreed because, one, it was for a good cause and, two...well...
He hadn't really dated since he became the Monkie Kid.
He had a good reason! One, he was really busy with what he had and knew that he didn't need a romantic relationship to complete him. On the other hand, Xiaotian honestly got a little lonely sometimes, watching Pigsy and Tang's rare lovey-dovey moments. He knew, again, that he didn't need a romantic relationship, but he did want to find someone that he could share a life with.
So, who knew? Xiaotian took a risk and moved the curtain. Wukong was starting his speech to begin the auction, taking the form of a handsome man with really badly dyed blonde hair. (Apparently, it added authenticity.) He could see Xiaojiao's green tux, his bestie sipping on a drink and considering the stage.
He also saw the person who walked in last.
Before his heart could get up from its trip, there was a boom of "LET'S SEE OUR MEN!" The curtain lifted, and Xiaotian was suddenly blinded by the spotlights. Applause rolled out, and Xiaotian managed a wave, blinking dots out of his vision.
It was just in time to get a better look at the person who had made his heart skip a beat, sitting down at a table near the stage. And... wow. Xiaotian knew that, if they switched places, he would bet for this guy in an instant.
They were handsome, dressed in a gorgeous black dress with a v-neck deep enough to reveal pecs. They had long, flowing scarlet curls that framed an angular face that looked weirdly familiar and dark eyes, lined with purple eyeshadow and kohl, that met his. Xiaotian looked away with heat in his face, not in time to see ruby red lips purse into a sharp-toothed smile that made his knees weak.
Huh. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.

JTTW/Part Two
Wukong got into the habit of isolating himself from the others for a while after arguments. The others in their group did not mind the change at this point. When the monkey did this, he was less likely to kill people, preferring to take his anger out on whatever trees or rocks were around instead of a living person. He always returned, a little dirtier, but in a better mood.
This time, he was not alone when he returned.
Tripitaka certainly didn't expect Wukong to come back with an unconscious woman in his arms and talk excitedly about being rewarded.
Oh God, he kidnapped a woman.
It took a tightening of the golden headband and a nervous Wujing to get the girl safely away from the Monkey King for Tripitaka to be willing to listen to him.
Wukong's eyes narrowed as he looked at his master sitting across from him. "Ah see, see! This is why I asked for a better companion!" He jumps up from his previous position of curled up on the ground in pain and stands up, pointing a clawed finger at the monk. "You always assume the worst of me, don't believe me. I have lived as an immortal for so long, I have no need for lies. I am telling you the truth."
"Wukong..." The monk begins. "I apologize for making you feel this way. But your past actions do not make it easy for me." Sighing, he jesters to the resting woman next to him, whom Wujing had carefully placed on some bedding. "This situation is sudden and very strange."
"Well, I say it's quite simple, Master. I asked for someone to be sent who would understand and appreciate me, and now she's here. How she came was a surprise to me as well, but perhaps they knew it was better not to keep The Great Sage Equal to Heaven waiting." He straightens up and puffs out his chest.
Bajie let out a boisterous laugh from his spot under a nearby tree. “Ha! I'm sure Brother Monkey is exaggerating. Why would the gods reward someone as naughty as him, and with a woman as beautiful as this no less. He can't be telling the truth! I'm sure it's all just a tall tale he's spinning.”
Wukong had been so sure that this was a reward from the gods, and now it was being laughed at. Angry, he looks to the pig demon and bares his teeth“ I am telling you the truth, and I expect you to believe me-”
Tripitaka felt a large hand on his shoulder and looked to see Wujing kneeling at his side.
“Master, I understand your hesitation, but you've seen some strange things yourself, unbelievable things.” He nods to the girl. “Someone falling from the heavens certainly wouldn't be the strangest thing to happen. Perhaps he really is telling the truth and… for as long as I've known him, he has shown no interest in women. For what reason would he steal one?”
The monk remained silent as he thought about what Wujing had said.
If... Wukong is really telling the truth... one must consider the fact that Wukong has undergone a great transformation during his journey, and he has been able to learn and grow as a person. He has been able to recognize and understand the importance of "some" basic morals. But he still often sees killing as necessary and often causes trouble. It's true that he's better than he was, but...
Why do they meet in this way? Why not have them meet like he did with his other disciples? If she really fell from the sky, does that mean she's from heaven? What is Wukong expected to do with her? Could it be a test?
"Wha... what's..."
At the sound of a feminine voice all four men look to the previously resting girl. Her eyes have a distant, unfocused appearance, indicating that she's not completely conscious. She looks around in confusion. First looking at the monk before settling on the large blue demon. Eyes meeting Wujing quickly becomes flustered and hides behind his master, in vain with the difference in size.
Wukong chirps in excitement, on all fours he quickly makes his way to her. Rudely shoving the two men away.
He scooted close enough to invade her personal space. “Girl, your name. What is it?” Wukong asks, eagerly waiting for an answer. She looks around in confusion, trying to make sense of her current predicament.

Snippet from my Black Myth: Wukong fanfic "A Tale Painted with Blood"
Sun Wukong x OC/Reader
Destined One x OC/Reader
Tumblr media
Chapter 2 snippet: “Hey!” My voice cracked, a growl rising in my throat, the kind of anger I wasn’t used to feeling as one of my hands snapped to my hip and the other pointed right at him. “I’m talking to you!”
He stopped, just shy of the training grounds’ entrance.
“You know what? Fine! I get it—you don’t like me, congratulations.” My hands shot up, a reflex born of pure exasperation. It’s a nasty habit—they liked to join in on conversation whether I invited them or not. Especially when I let my emotions run off on me. “You've made that abundantly clear.”
My pointer finger then fanned in front of me as I talked, having a mind of its own. “But guess what? After all this, I still don’t hate you! In fact, I actually find you interesting, cold shoulder and all!”
He paused, his head turning ever so slightly, just enough for his ear to catch my words.
“Oh, now you’re listening, huh?” I crossed my arms, stepping closer like I had any control over the situation. “Is that it? You’ll only give me half an ear when I’m about to lose my voice?”
Still nothing. Just that ear, twitching like he’s pretending he doesn’t care.
“Well, guess what, Monkey Boy? You’ve been real clear with your whole ‘I don’t need anyone’ act, but newsflash! I didn’t exactly sign up for the ‘silent treatment and shoulder shrugs’ special, okay? You think I wanted to be dragged into your epic saga of smashing and killing things and acting like the universe’s biggest loner? Yeah, no thanks.”
I threw my hands up, again, pacing in front of him like I was delivering some grand speech. “You’ve got this whole ‘I’m the untouchable King of Sass’ vibe down, but I know something you don’t. Wanna hear it?”
He didn’t move, but I saw that ear flick again. Gotcha.
“You’re lonely, aren’t you? You think being all distant and broody makes you look cool, but guess what? I can brood too! Professionally, in fact. I'm a professional bonafide actor that can out-angst you any day of the week!”

ASK TIME!
SOLO Marshals and Generals
Go
(Ahh, asking about your favorite of my fics, are you? ;3)
Marshals and Generals is the story of the four commanders of Flower Fruit Mountain before they met Sun Wukong. It starts with Liu running away from her troop (long, sad story) and she meets Ba, who left his own troop a long time ago.
(Quick explanation: In this fic, there were several small monkey tribes on Flower Fruit Mountain who were not united before the Monkey King came along. That’s a fun little idea that @amalgamorph and I came up with. :3)
Liu and Ba are slow to trust one another, but they decide to stick together, and over time they grow close and become dear friends. And then a little more. ;)
Then one day while Ba is out hunting, he runs into a young little gibbon, who’s carrying a bloody, newborn, white-furred cub. The gibbon, named Beng, explains that he found the cub alone in the woods and named it Ma. Ba takes them both back to Liu, and she does what she can for the cub, since she was the healer in her old troop. They learn that Beng is an orphan, and the cub must be as well. They can’t just leave the children to fend for themselves, so they take them in, and the four of them become the loving family that we all know and love (from my and @amalgamorph's fics, that is. 😅)
Anyway, here’s a little snippet from this story. It takes place after Ba has brought the two cubs he found back to his and Liu’s home. He and Liu are trying to get some answers.
“She isn’t your child,” Ba said. It wasn’t a question. Beng was far too young to have had any children of his own. Beng shook his head. “I found her. Abandoned. I looked for her parents, but…” His sad, tired gaze fell to the floor. “No one claimed her.” Ba and Liu shared a silent look at the ape’s words. They both knew by look alone that Ma had likely been abandoned intentionally. It wasn’t the easiest to tell with cubs as young as this one, but she didn’t look like any one species of monkey in particular—which meant that she was most likely a mixed breed. And Ba and Liu knew better than anybody that the various troops didn’t approve of mixed relations between their subjects. That, combined with her visible abnormalities… It was a miracle that Beng had found her alive in the first place.
Hope you enjoy! And I hope I can actually finish writing this fic someday. 😭

fanfic writer interview, tagged by @insertmeaningfulusername
What fandoms do you write in?
Lots of them, it's most Lego Monkie Kid now because that hits all my hyper fixation buttons, but also Star Wars, FnaF, owl house, and 1 Pokémon fanfic that is gay mermaids.
How many words have you published in 2024?
I have no clue how to figure that out I have started so many stories in 2024.
What are your top three fics you’ve written this year?
I'm using 2024 because I've only updated three stories so far
The King's Game, Little Star, and It Really Is Just A Monkey Thing, Kid they are all Monkie Kid ones
What was your biggest pit of despair moment?
Getting stuck on fics that I really want to get things moving on, it was really frustrating.
What have you learned?
People really like yandere sun Wukong, it is kind of crazy. And Macaque suffering, there's literally a tag for it, which is good because I like to torment my faves
Did you beta any fics?
I think I did for @phantom00maverick's hazbin hotel fic, they gave me comment access to the document for it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What three fics have you read this year that you love?
@boonalina's successor au, @smilesatdawnmain's Taken aus(even just the snippets of things they've posted) and Running From Destiny by scififan21 on Ao3
What ideas are percolating for next year?
More Shadowpeach and Macaque suffering!
I am really fucking him up in so many stories, I wanna get the first part of my lmk Cracked Family AU wrapped up and that does not end well for anyone involved
And a fic about LMK Ao Lie's family and the toll the Samadhi fire takes on them!
@anxiescape, @the-mountain-flower, @phantom00maverick, and any of my mutuals who also write, I don't remember who writes or not sorry

WIP Wednesday! Just clearing out my inbox, join me next week.
Some of these are from my 1 million words celebration, more about that here.
Snippet
Eddie scratched his chin, then he pressed the heels of his palms into his eyes. He pushed the file away from him and sat back in his chair.
He had other cases to work, but Carol’s disappearance kept calling him back. He knew that it wasn’t likely that she had anything to do with murders or even Jason’s death and Robin’s rescue, but it fascinated him.
There were a rash of disappearances that weren’t related to the murders as far as he could tell, but happened at the same time. It scratched that little monkey part of his brain that loved mysteries and he was more than happy to give into the temptation.
Where Steve Harrington fit in all this? That was another thing he didn’t know, but he felt like the former King was a part of the puzzle and he was going to find out what.
