MIDERIAN
[PT: miderian]
Definition
[PT: definition]
A monolexic term for midbinary, mainly, but not only, for those who do not like to describe their genders using a word that contains "binary" in it.
The counterpart of aphorian.
Flags
[PT: flags]
The diagonal flag.
Tumblr media
[ID: A flag with thirteen diagonal stripes. In total it has seven colours. From the outermost stripes to the innermost one, these are: light read (2 stripes, one on the upper left and another in the lower right), right next to each there are two (one on each side) dark pink/magenta stripes, followed by a pair of lavender stripes. Next to each, there are two dark blue-violet stripes; beside them, nearing the middle, a pair of light blue stripes can be found, followed by a pair of dark turquoise stripes. Finally, the last and innermost stripe is a pastel teal one./END ID]
2. The five horizontal stripes flag
Tumblr media
[ID: A flag with five horizontal stripes, each of a different colour. These, from top to bottom are: magenta, cyan, purple, blue, and pink /END ID]
How do I see and experience midbinary genders? A graph.
[PT: how do I see and experience midbinary genders? A graph]
Tumblr media
[ID: An image with a transparent background and a trapezoid in the middle. Inside the trapezoid there are five shades, from bottom to top they are: In the lower left there's another trapezoid inside it, pink in colour with the number one written in the middle. In the lower right a third trapezoid, this one blue with the number two in it, can be found. Between the pink and blue trapezoids, a purple figure occuping the void space between the two + some space in the middle appears, containing a number three inside. Above it, there's an irregular cyan rectangle with a four inside. Latly, in the uppermost part of the trapezoid there's another one. This one is a pastel magenta and has a five inside it. /END ID]
As it can be seeing in the graph above, I would divide miderian/midbinary qualities into five primary categories:
1- Feminine genders, regardless if they are related to fiaty/lierinity or not, and fiagenders/lierine genders, regardless if they are related to femininity or not.
(Fiaty and lierinity are both terms to describe genders that are female or related, proximal, similar, derived or somehow connected to femaleness. Including woman, qupha, caiene, mione, juxera, erasque, etheria, etc)
2- Masculine gender, regardless if they are related to miaty/virinity or not, and miagenders/virine genders, regardless if they are related to masculinity or not.
(Miaty and virinity as both terms to describe male genders and genders derived, similar, proximal, related or somehow connected to maleness. Including (wer)men, terine, valene, proxvir, viresque, etherio, etc.)
3- Genders that are in between (without being the combination of) feminine and masculine genders, or between (without being a combination of) fiaty/lierinity and miaty/virinity. Mainly othergender androgynous or ambiguine genders.
(Examples: some androgynes, some ambiguines, proxangi, ambesque, angiesque, ambix, angix, troigue, etc)
4- Genders relared to epicenity or midbinary neutrality. Genders that feel like they are in the middle of the midbinary spectrum. Being simultaneously all midbinary qualities and neither at the same time.
(Examples: epicene, midbinary ambigue, unigender, juxtene, troicene, pandrogyne (original definition), etc)
5- Brand new midbinary genders that are fully distinct from feminine and masculine and/or fia/lierine and mia/virine genders, and rather than existing in between those dichotomies, exist completely separared from them. Qualities that can be described as midbinary outherinities (itherinities), like for example altraeninity.
(Examples: daen, ambinique, proxaen, trinäq, etc)
This graph doesn't take into account combinatory qualities and genders like, femache, gynx, androx, etc. because it focuses only on primary, non-combined, qualities and genders.
As an amphinitique, I actually experience the combinatory qualities and genders rather than the non-combinatory ones expressed in the graph. The graph, thus, represents the qualities that form the gender qualities I experience, rather than the qualities I experience themselves.
I'm simultaneously both miderian and aphorian, and I see the qualities I experience and the qualities that form them to kinda exist in a mirrorred fashion. For every miderian gender I have, there's an aphorian counterpart, and vice versa.

I know that people conflating aromanticism and asexuality and considering aroaces as the only valid way to be aspec can be annoying, but we should differentiate between those amisers conflating them in bad faith, and people that genuinely do not experience any separation between differen aspec orientations in different forms of attraction
non-sam aros who don't experience sexual and/or other forms of non-romantic attraction aren't acemisic, aplmisic, etc for including all their anattraction under the label 'aromantic'
non-sam aces who don't experience romantic and/or other forms of non-sexual attraction aren't aromisic, aplmisic, etc for including all their anattraction under the label 'asexual'
Ays aren't amisic for labelling all their annatraction under a monolexic label, instead of identifying with each a- label separatedly.
There's a big difference between saying "I label all my anattraction as asexual/aromantic" and saying "I think asexual/aromantic is an umbrella term for all aspec people and alloaros/alloaces have to suck it up, because, like it or not, they're ace/aro too"
This also applies to people using solely an atertiary orientation to label all their anattraction.
Yes, I know not all non-sam aspec are anattractional in more than one level of attraction. This post is about those who are.

(I'm a different anon confused by aporale and aporan) To my understanding, the aporale anon's clarification is saying that aporale and aporan are aporagender equivalents of the word "person," or "maverique (noun)", or "omen." The anon stated "it wasn't a combination with any other gender," so I read it as meaning this: the words aporale and aporan are NOT directly, inherently referring to aporagender men or aporagender women (for example, bigender people who are aporagender plus a binary gender, or people who are partly aporagender and partly a binary gender).
But if that's the case, why are there two different words (aporale, aporan)? Aporagender is one single gender, a gender unrelated to man or woman. Why are there two different words with the same definition ("a person who is aporagender")? Is it simply a matter of preference, like how omen, kenore, and chori all mean "a person who is kenochoric" and it's up to the specific kenochoric person to choose which word they prefer? I'm fine with that idea, but I'm just confused and worried that I got something wrong. /nm, neu
Thank you for reading through this overly long ask. /gen
At this point I'll be the conveyer of the asks and answers abt the aporale request /neutral
Also anon your understanding is the same as mine. Here's the original ask, though I'm afraid it might make it all more confusing
Tumblr media
ID/ A screenshot of a Tumblr ask saying "Is there a (wo)man/(fe)male version of aporagender? I was thinking aporale/aporan" /ID end
Clarifications:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IDs/ Two Tumblr asks saying, "Aporale anon. Basically, I meant it as a word for being aporagender alone, just like omen/oman exists for kenochoric" and "aporale anon. it was meant to be equivalent. like a monolexic word for aporagender. such as maverique. it wasn't a combination with any other gender" /IDs end.
Looking at these again, I think I need to change the wording on the post to say aporale/an is more of a choice like omen, chori, etc and say man, woman, person instead of man/woman to avoid the confusion of making it seem gendered. I'll do that later. That's mb.

I made a new combo term and flag!
Florai: being both floric and gai; having one’s gainess feel floric or being floric in a gai way. It can be used as a prefix if necessary, i.e. floraisexual.
It’s similar to many gai + orientation combo terms and I referenced the “gai for boys”, “gai for enbies”, and “gai for boys and enbies” flags as well as the gai flag. I decided to keep the middle stripes the same for aesthetics and recognizability (it “looks” floric).
Since there’s straytbien I feel like it would be possible for a strayt equivalent, probably denoted as florayt.

I'm trying to coin a gender, but I can't figure out what to name it. How do you come up with names?
i think i've answered this question before, but i can't find the post, so i'll just answer it again!
i typically first decide what words i might like to include in the term. for example, while coining floracornic, i knew i'd want to include 'flowers' and 'unicorns' in the term itself. from there, i determine whether i'll be using the english word, as i did with '-corn' for 'unicorn', or a related word or root word, as i did with 'flora-' for 'flowers' ('flora' meaning 'flower' in latin and being used in english to refer to the plants of a region). i might also choose a translation of the word into another language, a synonym, a scientific name, etc. i usually list a handful of options to use for each word.
then i determine whether the words i've chosen will be best as a '-gender' term or a monolexic term ('monolexic' refers to genders that don't use the prefix or suffix 'gender'). for example, if you're coining an aesthetigender, you might go with the suffix '-aesic'; if you're coining a gender that you feel needs three or so words included in it, you might go with a monolexic term to avoid the term being too long; if you've only got one word you need to include in your term, you might go with the '-gender' suffix. i recommend checking out pupyzu's suffixes carrd if you aren't sure what suffix to use!
i just start combining things in various ways until i come up with something that i feel looks best, rolls off the tongue nicely, etc. i might drop a word i want to include if i feel like it's not feasible (such as my term 'plushlichten', where the only root words included are 'plush' and 'licht', meaning 'light'), or maybe i'll find a way to combine two words into one (such as my term 'lepidere', where 'lepid' refers to both butterflies and moths). your term doesn't have to include every relevant word if you don't like how it looks/sounds when it does!
i also always do a preliminary check to see if the term i've come up with exists elsewhere using my guide to finding terms by name. i usually just use step 2, the googling step, since it's the most comprehensive! you don't want to accidentally use the same name as someone else if you can help it.
this looks like a lot, but honestly, explaining it in-depth makes it look less fun than it is. just go for it! grab a few root words and combine them randomly until you've got something you like.

Differences (and non-differences) between gender neutral and neutrois
Neutrois is more limited to gender identity, however some people used it as a descriptor of their sex characteristics tied to medically transitioning, as you can see in terms of MtN (male to neutrois) and FtN (female to neutrois), as well as non-binary and gender-neutral.
According to @neutrois (in neutrois.com), neutrois has no definition, except there lists hyponyms as supposed definitions, including neutral gender, null gender, neither male or female, genderless and agender.
Gender neutrality or gender neutral is synonymous to epicene or epicenity, gender-inclusive and unisex, specially when talking about language and pronouns. It's often used akin to or interchangeably with androgynous, agender, genderless, genderqueer, gender-free, ungendered, degendering, gender-fluid and non-binary, specially in fashion.
Just as my teacher says "current(ly) but not correct(ly)", the public use is not always technically right. Many people may feel offended or even dysphoric for seeing their gender identity used as a gender expression term, specially nonbinary specific ones.
Unrelated to the grammatical gender (neuter or neutral gender), neutral-gender or gender neutral identity is also a gender neutrality.
Many androgynes will describe their gender as unrelated to androgyny, just as multiple neutrois individuals do not associate with gender neutrality. However androgyne is received as a lingender or gender androgyny, just as neutrois is taken as a ningender.
Many times neutrois is incompletely described as having no gender or a specifically monolexic word for agender. Other times people explain it's different as in having a gendered feeling. Gender neutral neutrois people (whose gender is neutral, comgender or at least not exactly genderless) might feel unrepresented. But many people can't distinguish their own experiences from being gendered or nongendered, finding neutrois a useful term for that. And gender nullity or nultrois not always correlate for agender neutrois folx.
The meaning @neopronouns gave in eir post is not exactly incorrect. This graph exemplifies how many people see neutral as sitting in between male and female genders, but that happens with almost all nonbinary identities in a linear spectrum. Various gender neutrals fall outside these spectrums, some see it as a monolithic abinarity.
Neuter means neither (ne=not, uter=either) anyways. But many neutrois and gender neutral folks see themselves as none, all, both or both and neither.
Contrasting with genderpositive and gendernegative, genderneutral could be an ambivalence of the two, like being demiagendered, when your gender is present and not present simultaneously, not essentially a genderflux state. But genderpositive neutrois and gendernegative neutrois exist, just as gendernull neutrois and genderneutral neutrois.
But there's also neutral demigenders and saturated genders, being neutrois the central of the neutral spectrum, the balancement of all genders, and genderneutrality an abinary gender. The conception of neolingual Portuguese negative and positive (let's imagine like it's "negativx" and "positivx" in English) and their gender negativity & positive gender and gender positivity & positive gender bring neutre as a gender ambiguity, indifference or equilibrium, represented through zero (0).
Neuter sex and neuter gender/"n" are also used as a third or other gender options beyond "m"/male/man/masculine and "f"/female/woman/feminine options in formularies and documents, so that there will be even binary intersex, altersex, gender nonconforming and trans folks using it.

How to Coin a Gender
Can’t find a gender that works for you? Want to try your hand at the deep mysteries of coining? Here’s a rough guide on how to do just that.
While we’ll be talking about gender throughout this guide, it can work for any sort of term.
The definition: make sure it's not taken. What makes it unique? If it's similar to another gender, what makes this one different or worth coining?
The name: try to keep the name short. Long names are more unique, but harder to read and remember. Think about reading comprehension and pronunciation - say it out loud. Is it difficult to say? Would non-native speakers of your language have difficulty saying it? Does it just kinda suck? If so, maybe think about changing it.  Think about the meaning of the name - a xenogender centred around fish called fishgender is simple, to the point, and easy to understand at a glance (though not very exciting!), whereas a gender with the same definition called ichthyogender (ichthyo - fish) is more interesting, but harder to pronounce (and spell). Both mean the same thing (fish+gender), so it’s up to you. Here’s a post about making terms that don’t have the word ‘gender’ in them (aka monolexic terms). If you’re making a group of terms (like the galactic alignment system, for example), or even just more that one term, can you tell them apart verbally? The galactic alignment system is a good example of this - each name is unique, but they also are very clearly part of a set.
Make sure it's easy to understand. A lot of neurodivergent people have trouble with both understanding others and making themselves understood. Try to make your definition as easy as possible to understand, both in terms of reading comprehension and in understanding the actual gender. Try to get a second opinion if you can - for example, asking people in a group chat if the definition makes sense and they understand it.
The flag: I won't talk about flag design here, since there are plenty of resources online (and I'm not the best at it). Here are some resources about flag design. Although having a nice looking flag is great, a pride flag isn’t necessary for your term to be good!
Have fun! Coining a term doesn't have to be - and shouldn't be - difficult, boring, or frustrating. Put passion and fun into your term, and even if no one uses it you'll still have fun! :)
