OKAY ALRIGHT LET ME JUST. COLLECT WHATEVER'S LEFT OF MY BRAIN. idk if any of this will make sense but here are some of my scattered thoughts about it!!!!

as i said before i do think camboy talay works incredibly (and surprisingly) well, but im having a hard time explaining why. i guess it depends a lot on how i personally see the characters. in episode 8, when friend credits have to find a way to get money to produce their movie, talay goes online to try sell tess' clothes as quickly as possible because he doesn't want the others to sell their parents' stuff. i think that says a lot about who talay is: when it comes to the people he cares about, he is willing to do pretty much anything. so i can definitely see him finding out that his mom is struggling with money and deciding that he wants to help out in some way while he tries to land the job of his dreams. of course i don't think becoming a camboy would ever cross his mind on his own (maybe he hears his friends talking about it one evening), and at first he'd probably object to the very idea of it, but after struggling to find a stable job for months, i do think he would decide to at least give it a try

and there are actually two things that you mentioned that i really love: 1) that you want talay to start it for himself too, to take his pleasure in his own hands, and 2) that at the beginning he wouldn't do well. because see, even if it's an AU it's really important to me that the characters remain themselves, and when it comes to talay i don't think he'd be able to act all cute (i mean, he is the cutest, but he doesn't try to be, if that makes sense) and pleasing with everyone. i can see people asking him to do something and talay just misinterpreting it completely (like in episode 6 when puen tells him he likes the sound of 'the sea', and talay takes him literally), or someone saying something degrading about sex workers and talay starting an entire rant about it, or even just talay refusing to do something he doesn't feel comfortable with (because like you said this is about money, but it's also about talay and what HE wants too)

and on the other side you have puen who feels incredibly lonely and desperately craves connection but can't manage to build a lasting relationship with anyone. and i like that you mentioned that the first time he goes on the site he has some glasses of wine in him because im not sure he would go look for that kind of content if he were sober, no matter how lonely he feels, but he still ends up there, and i like to think that even if he clicks on talay's livestream because he's attracted to talay's body at first, the reason he stays is because of talay's personality. like, talay reads puen's username and the first thing he thinks about is the 2499 antapan krong muang movie so he starts talking about it and how cool dang bireley is and while other people are leaving the stream puen is just sitting there smiling and thinking 'cute'

i think that's what actually pushes puen to write to talay and start chatting with him, because he finds talay so funny and smart too, and i love the idea that eventually it's that connection they make that also helps talay be comfortable enough to start exploring what he actually likes

there is also a nice potential for angst, because maybe at one point talay and puen meet in person without knowing who they are and things start to get complicated, because they feel like they're falling for two different people at the same time and then they find out they are actually the same person and they have to reconcile with that knowledge and with everything that happened between them. BUT ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL AND THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER OKAY BYE

HMMMMMMMM how do I do that indeed, the basics are honestly what you’d find on any basic tutorial about drawing a face (circle, cross in the middle of it, build the face around that - I really still can’t avoid that step and probably never will). As for the expressions, to be honest with you my way of going about them is thinking them up in emoji/kaomoji form first and then go from there. Emojis and kaomojis have to simplify expressions to the max since it’s such a simple format, right? But they’re still super expressive and convey exactly what they’re trying to say with one single glance, so using them as some kind of reference sheet has helped me a lot in figuring out what’s essential to express what I’m trying to say - still working on it though! I’m rarely satisfied with my expressions, they really do make or break a drawing don’t they............ you never stop learning, I guess!

hi so i.found ur blog and its honestly like a breath of fresh air to look at so if its ok i might just fuckin,,vent here.

so. ik a lot of other people have been talking abt how pof was really straining to watch and i am.very late to the party but i need to talk abt it bcz holy fuck. when i first watched it i was in a way better place mwntally, also the general excitement of wow,content kinda overrode the headache and the eye hurty and the just. bad. but i was rewatching it recently because i was basing a fic off it and i just. i couldnt finish it because all of it was just so much and there was no fuckin warning?? so that was pog ig

next thing because i have. a lot of thoughts. ive been in the fandom for not-very-long, i joined in the middle of 2019 or something.and it just kinda sucks because im only still here for the fandom. i love the series but i can only watch dwit and compilations of logan/roman being sad so much before i can basically recite them off the top of my head. but i reallyreally love writing for the fandom!! it makes me so happy to do the writing, its just the fact that im not as invested with the series that makes me feel,,idk man guilty ig?? anyway thats too deep for a rant so im.a move on

god so tw me not liking post aa virgil and me talking abt toxic friends but hoooly fuck man. i just. pre aa virgil was fun because he was snarky and sarcastic and i could actually stand the nagst because his character made sense?? he was the 'bad guy' and he wasnt as woobified back then and he was honestly a solid vibe. but post aa virgil gives off the vibe of that one friend who fuckin, gets angry at you when you bring up any of your mental health issues and then blames their outburst on their mental health issuea and its like?? no i hate that character dynamic. people say bad things when the feel bad, sure, ik i have, but its the vibe of 'im gonna threaten you and then blame it on my mental health but if you so much as look at me wrong while ur having sensory overload or something i will smite you with the force of one thousand suns' and i am just.so tired. also ithink someone else said this but we should just call the series 'virgil sanders and the rest' because thats what it is now ksbdjqkbsq

also (all ofthese are my opinions btw and im not trying to say im rigbt im just tired honestly) the way. in pof the way patton's whole thing is 'you need empathy' is not funky fresh for both people with low empathy and high empathy 😎 bcz ppl with too much/too little empathy are always told theyre 'cold' or that theyre 'oversensitive', the whole 'there is an average amount of empathy and if u dont have that fuck you actually' is icky and bad and gross. i do think patton's character is really well done in the series but that episode jjust personally. ick.

and finally the moment uve not been waiting for bcz this is probably really tiring to read but the moment youve been waiting for-fwsa.just. why. its cute and stuff and i love nico. nico is a vibe. also bathroom man john is great. but shouldnt roman still be on shit terms with thomas?? like lk we're just gonna sweep away the whole 'i thought i wad ur hero' shizz? cool cool, glad to know romans arc still aint happening. also i get it, we needed to cement that virgil is a light side now. but like..did we?? actually bcz this is so long im gonna send in a second ask (im sososorry if this clogs up ur ask box if u tell me to stop i will i just. many thoughts) abt how even though i hate virgil, his arc should have been done. so differently. just gonna put like,, a mushroom emoji here so u can put the 2 asks together if u want 🍄

You’re always free to vent here! Sorry it took so long to respond but life has a cruel habit of getting in the way of things I need to do. 

So for starters, the POF problem should be talked about more so I can assure you that you’re not late to the party. It never really got the amount of attention it deserved so I am more than willing to bring that back up and trust me, you’re not alone. 

And again, you’re not alone in this either! Plenty of people still enjoy creating content for these characters. You don’t have to feel guilty for not finding the actual series interesting because honestly, I’m kinda losing interest too. But I still love these characters and I love that the fandom is still creating stories with them through different mediums.

Honestly I agree with just about everything you said about Virgil and I do eventually plan on tackling a lot of this in a future post. You know, if I ever force myself to just sit down and write the dang thing... 

Oh my gosh I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about this because that whole thing about empathy in POF really ticked me off because you’re absolutely right, not everyone is 100% empathetic, and some people can be empathetic to a point where it hurts themselves. Like I get what they were trying to say but it came across as, well, like you said. “If you’re don’t have this exact level of empathy then eff you I guess you’re a bad person.” Maybe that actually wasn’t their intention but it sure came across that way and maybe I’ll go into it a little more in another post because now that I’ve been reminded of it again I kinda wanna talk about it more. 

Okay yes, FWSA on its own is a good episode. Heck, it’s one of my favorites. It feels closer to a season one episode than ATHD that’s for sure. The problem with this episode isn’t the quality but the fact that it comes right after POF. And I’ve basically gone over this in my “Problem With Asides” post and how it affects both Roman and Virgil’s current arcs so I won’t go into much more detail here but just know that I pretty much agree with all of this.

Brothers anon back again. Heads up im going to be busy for the next week about so it may be a bit til I submit my next bit. I'll try to get something in though! Even if its just a bunch of incorrect quotes I have stored up or songs that inspired the story (or if you have questions you haven't been able to ask you can ask those, literally any question is fine).

1: Not particularly, but it does give him an advantage in everything basically. Cause he was taught how to survive in many different areas (like treating wounds and how to survive in a tundra when you have nothing), this teaching is what allowed him to live alone for 4 years, and is what gives him a strong advantage in the Pit because he's almost fully trained in fighting and has many different tactics for multiple scenarios. Ranbob was distraught and was sent into a depressive episode when he discovered that, almost his entire family was dead, and got even more distraught and sent into a state of hysteria when he found out he was the one who killed them. He acted much the same when he found out he killed his friends, Ran's friends, and every single mentor and leader that was there. Knowing full well he may of very well doomed Mizu, if anyone was still left alive of course. 

2: Grievous remained salty for the rest of the day, and showed distaste in Ranbob as well. But the day after Grievous was back to being friends with and gently pranking Ranbob, forgiving him for yesterday's accident.

3: Eh? It depends I'll say. For life threatening situations and stressful situations, yes definitely. He doesnt last long before breaking down and begging Benjamin for help. But if its something like getting everyone to work toghere, giving directions, stopping fights, or even making calls in a very important decision, he doesnt get overwhelmed too easily. Benjamin is basically the co-leader of the group, only really leading when Isaac is unable too. 

5: Yep! Just cause this is a mythical and fake world doesnt mean there can't be some real world attributes. Im trying to keep it mythical but also use real world functions and trying to show the change/mix in times (like how while some of the world is machinery and its slowly gaining popularity, it's still mostly midevil based)

7: If the person is in the arena he gets revenge. Though sadly he can't get it outside cause last time he did that he got banned from fighting for a month. But if he sees one of the people who made fun of Jackie in the arena he makes sure to go hard to them, pushing them to their limit, but not pushing hard enough to make them lose if that makes sense. He makes sure to fight in a way that's draining and causing pain for the person, but not draining enough to make the round end so he can drag it on until the person collapses. 

8: He does! He's kept all of his books from his adventures and sometimes re-reads them to make sure he doesnt forget anything. And sometimes if the others beg, he reads them outloud to the group as a sort of bedtime story. He goes wack, he wacks Jackie when he's being a little shit, he wacks Grievous after a prank, he wacks Genevieve when she brakes a training dummy, he wacks Levi especially hard when he gives Jackie alcohol after he specifically told him not too. He watched the dressmaker, baker, farmer, fletcher, cleric, cartographer, and butcher! He learned all tricks of the trade and learned how to properly make clothes, map maps, how to take care of animals and what certain animals need, how to cook anything basically, how to harvest and preserve food, and how to make arrows and the basic necessities for a bow. 

Ran does not necessarily make them often, he mostly only wrote them down so he wouldn't accidentally brew a potion of poison and drink it thinking it was a healing potion. Its considered no longer necessary to go into the nether, as the only thing really needed is netherwart and building supplies, but the building supplies are very rarely needed and every major city has a netherwart farm. Also cause I wanna add it, no one knows about netherite. Only a few adventures know about it but consider it a hoax, it's only Rans netherite sword that actually proves that it does exist. I actually wasnt planning on it at first but now definitely, I could do a lot of things with them in the SMP grounds. Weeks, it takes weeks for Ran to decide their ready. Because they need to pass whats basically tests about mobs of the nether and their habits, mine plenty of gold, learn about what to and what not to do around Piglins, learn about bastions and fortresses and areas to completely avoid, learn to be able to take multiple mobs on at once, and be able to withstand the heat there. Watson tries to get Ran to lighten up on the requirements but Ran is firmly sticking his ground and Watson ends up giving up and letting Ran do whatever. Though even with all of Rans training their not completely ready for the nether. The fishermen originally refuse to go through, but eventually go through, mostly to make sure Ranbob is safe, and because Cletus wouldn't stop whining about going. 

10: I am very tempted to add angst here because their fighting against Dream after all. But I've made a lot of angst so far so I'll only do it if you want me too. 

12: He does end up stepping in! He goes to Ranbob one night and says how he's noticed he's been stressed and always sad and asks how he can help. Ranbob brushes him off at first but is debating going to him again and asking for help one last time.

13: Yeah he's like a final boss. When you fight as a General your allowed to use your own personal weapons and whatever tricks or tactics you want, along with 3 potions of your choice. While when fighting as a typical gladiator, you have to use the weapons supplied (although unless specifically stated you can use any weapon given at any time), and have to use tatics and tricks specifically allowed in the rules. Though there are 2 more titles! Sergeant and Corporal. Ran and Watson are both Sergeants, they get to use personal weapons and mostly any tactic and tricks they want too. While Grievous is a Corporal and only gets to use his personal weapons. 

14: Yep! The whispers disappeared gradually the futher away they got from Mizu, and even while he was moving away from Mizu Dream was asking, almost begging him at the end, to come back to Mizu. Saying how the futher Ranbob gets the lonier and colder he feels, and how he's sorrh, trying to guilt trip him into coming back to Mizu, or at least coming closer again. 

15: It is!

1: Huh. What kind of things would people learn if they chose other idols, exactly? Also, ouch. Why do I keep asking questions I know will hurt me later on?

2: Gently pranking. I applaud his restraint. Is that how Grievous forgives people? Gently pranking them? Just joking with them in general. Also, who laughed at that little situation?

3: So Isaac’s good with everyday things, not so much high stress situations. Gotcha. Is there a reason Benjamin is able to remain calm where he can’t? Practice, experience, personality trait?

5: Very cool. Can’t wait to see what else you do with that, honestly.

8: Aww, adventure bedtime stories! Also, him wacking people is so funny to me, thank you for that. And Levi gave Jackie alcohol? How did that go down? Did Jackie get drunk, or did Watson manage to keep them from drinking it? Watson sounds like he could probably establish a small village if he so chose, and honestly, good for him.

Dang. Does this mean like, everything from the Smp has been lost? So many of them had netherite armor and stuff, what happened there for people to not even know it’s a thing anymore? What happened in general, for so much of the past to be lost to history? How does their little Nether trip go? Anyone get hurt? Are piglin tribes around to trade with? Do they find anything cool, like a fortress or bastion?

10: It’s your AU, do what you will. I’m going to read it regardless, because for some reason, I enjoy breaking my heart like that(and the AU in general). Just give us some bonus hurt/comfort if you do, please? Just a smidge?

the orange sun was slowly sinking in the sky as you heard your phone vibrate from where it was situated on your coffee table. pausing your netflix show momentarily, you pick up the device to see a text from your best friend hyunjin.

you chuckle at the text, pondering briefly before typing in your response.

you hit send before getting yourself up from the couch, making your way to your room to quickly pack a bag for hyunjin’s. you don’t take long to pack, seeing as you and hyunjin have been best friends for quite sometime so you don’t really give a shit about how you look when you’re around him. before long you’re grabbing your car keys and locking up your house before venturing over to hyunjins place.

“took you long enough” hyunjin says as you walk into his house, kicking your shoes off before following him upstairs. “a simple ‘hey y/n, glad you could make it’ would be nice but i guess that’s too much to ask.” you say as you playfully shove his shoulder. “you know that’s what i meant. anyways, i’ve started that netflix show you told me about, you know the one called you?” you mutter a small yea in response as you situate yourself on hyunjins bed. “wanna watch a bit of that? i’ve heard season 2’s better than season 1 so i wanna get caught up.” he questions you before taking place beside you, opening his laptop and typing netflix into the search bar. “sure, and season 2 is better than 1 (it is) so let’s get you caught up.”

the two of you have gotten through about three episodes, only pausing briefly so hyunjin could go to the washroom and resuming right when he got back. all of hyunjin’s focus was on the show, his brows furrowed as he watched everything unfold on the screen. your attention however was focused on something else - more like someone else. you had always found hyunjin attractive, i mean who in their right mind doesn’t, but you’ve tried to stop your feelings form progressing beyond that attraction. he was your bestfriend and it’s wrong to see him as anything other than that, but you couldn’t help yourself. a dim white glow was cast upon his side profile as he stared at his laptop, his luscious black hair pushed back to reveal his forehead. ‘fuck it’ you decided. “hey, hyunjin?” you ask, voice wavering as you build up your courage. hyunjin grunts in acknowledgement, his eyes still focused on the fluorescent screen in front of you.

you can feel hyunjin tense up as soon as the words leave your lips, his gaze still trained on the show but you know he’s not focused on it anymore.

he finally locks eyes with you and you  feel your heart rate increase, feeling even more embarrassed now that he’s literally staring into your soul.

“i just felt that if i didn’t tell you now i probably never would sooo,” you say as you avert your gaze from his, deciding your hands are much for interesting to look at as opposed to hyunjin’s intense gaze. “i’m sorry.” you mumble quietly as you feel your cheeks flush in embarrassment. this definitely did not turn out how you wanted it to. 

“you don’t have you apologize,” hyunjin says to you before shifting his body so he’s facing you, his head propped up on his hand. “i’m just not sure if i believe you.” he knows that your flustered and he’s taking advantage of that, that little shit. 

“what the fuck do you mean you don’t believe me? you know you’re really helping my self esteem here, i literally just confessed to you and this is how you respond?” you say as you feel your eyes gloss over with tears, threatening to spill over your eyelids and stain your cheeks. you throw the comforter off of your body in a huff before hopping off of the bed, wanting to get out of the awkward situation asap. 

you felt hyunjins slender fingers grasp your wrist, stopping you in your tracks. he gently tugs on your arm in an attempt to get you to sit back down and you comply. your heart’s thudding in your chest as he sits up to be level with you, his thumb tracing delicate patterns on your skin as he inches closer to you. 

“you might have to prove it to me,” hyunjin says as his eyes flicker to your lips, his body radiating heat and lust. 

you slowly lean in and close the gap between the two of you, your lips connecting in a sensual kiss. despite all of the times you’ve dreamed of this moment, you’re still blown away at how amazing hyunjins lips feel pressed against your own. his hand snakes up your arm to your neck as he brings you closer to him, his plush lips dancing with your own.

you can feel the heat radiating off of hyunjins body as you move so your chest is flush against his, taking in his intoxicating scent as you inhale sharply through your nose. you can’t help but groan in pleasure as his hands roam your body, stopping momentarily at your butt before sliding them down to your thighs as he pulls you on top of him. you gently tug on his hair as his tongue explores your mouth before he pulls away from you.
