✧ AN ACCIDENTAL MEETING

✧ tw. none, kinda spoilers?
— a/n. ahhh thank you for the request and for being so patient with me! this is kinda shorter than i wanted it to be tbh, but please enjoy!!
Tumblr media
The sounds of your angry footsteps echo through the empty halls of the Port Mafia Headquarters, and you silently vow you’re going to kill Mori as soon as you get your hands on him. How dare he leave poor Elise all alone in her room. You had walked in on the girl, who was quietly crying to herself among her crayons because he had just abandoned her without saying anything. Sure, she was being a little dramatic, but at the same time, he should have some care for the girl who's like his own daughter.
“I’m gonna kill you, Mori. You better be in here.” You approach the giant doors to the meeting room, the last place to check on your list, fuming to yourself.
You didn’t expect to walk into a whole strategy meeting, with Mori sitting at the head of the table. The whole Black Lizard Squad as well as a couple other members were also there, as expected, but the person you were not expecting to see was your older brother and long-time rival, Dazai.
“Y/n?” Mori only has a second to respond to your intrusion before you have multiple weapons aimed directly at your face. You can feel the hint of a smile tugging on your lips at the defensive reaction from the Black Lizard Squad.
Maybe they are as good as Mori makes them out to be.
Reaching into your pocket, you swiftly pull out a knife of your own, hurdling it at Mori. He doesn’t flinch as it embeds itself in the top of his chair, millimeters away from his head.
“Now, now, let’s not get hasty.” With a wave of his hands and a curt command, the weapons back down from your face. Your angry voice pierces through the room, prompting a smirk from Mori.
“That’s for leaving Elise all by herself. You shouldn’t just abandon her without telling her, y’know.” He chuckles, gesturing to the various people in the room—all of whom are silent, watching this interaction. They have no idea who you are or what you’re doing here, attacking the head of the Port Mafia so casually.
“Can’t you see I’m busy? Duty calls, love.” Reaching up and removing the knife still balancing over his head, he points it at you.
“I’d like you to all meet my dear wife, y/n l/n. Treat her as you would treat me, and we won’t have any problems.” You can see the shock on Dazai’s face—and frankly the shock on everyone’s faces—as Mori introduces you.
“So you’re the fabled ‘Black Lizard’ that Ougai is always talking about.” Scanning the room, you can immediately place who’s who based on the descriptions Mori has given you. Eyes landing on Chuuya, you size him up.
“You’re shorter than I expected.” His mouth contorts into a scowl, and he starts towards you with anger in his eyes.
“Why you...”
“Chuuya.” Mori’s voice interrupts him, and he retreats back to his place, grumbling to himself. Almost skipping over to where your husband is sitting, you rest against the back of his chair, leaning over and landing a quick peck to his cheek.
“You’re too hard on me, y/n.”
“I only do it cause I love you.”
“Ugh, get a room.” You hear Chuuya and your brother making exaggerated gagging noises from where they’re standing next to each other.
You glare at him before kissing Mori directly on the lips, snaking your hand onto the back of his head and gripping his hair. You can hear Chuuya groan and Koyo chuckle to herself. Higuchi’s a blushing mess, and the Akutagawa twins just stand and stare with what you can only guess is shock. Mori smiles into your lips, and when you finally take a breath for air, he pulls you into his lap, trying to contain his excitement of having finally officially introduced you into the mafia.
“Now... let’s get back to business.”

Hello :) can I request Mori and Kunikida on how they would realize they fell for you and how they would confess? (If you dont mind)
a/n: I like this prompt >:) stupid title because my brain can't
taglist: @stygianoir, @irethepotato , @kisara-16reblogs, @thatdazaikin , @dazaee
acceptance + confession
featuring: Kunikida, Mori x GN!Reader
Kunikida Doppo
This would take a LONG time. The denial stage is the longest for this man: a few months to a full year before he's come into terms that he does indeed see you as more than a friend
It would take some special event(s) for him to accept his feelings. Of course, the catalyst would be none other than a certain bandaged bastard
Mostly Dazai tries to get his partner jealous whether it's with himself or some other person. It's working, yes, but this is wayyy too slow. As such, he resorted to more direct methods aka teasing him incessantly (with or without you in the room)
yes he literally gets bullied into submission
"Dazai can you stop that?! What if Y/N gets the wrong idea?"
"Then just say you don't like them! That's the 'correct idea' anyway, right?"
The constipated look on his face when he glitched out from the intense and conflicting feelings was worth the wait
But it doesn't take as long for him to confess to you. Aside from the fear of you finding out through Dazai's antics, the simple dislike of the crushing uncertainty and ceaseless yearning motivated him to act quicker.
He's come up with several plans, ranging from short and straightforward to grand and complex, but in the end he falls for somewhere in between. What's certain though is that it's tailored to your tastes.
Mori Ougai
It doesn't take him as long to accept the fact that he's fallen for someone, but it takes thrice as long for him to do anything about it
He'll catch himself thinking about you too long and too much, and he'll question himself why that's the case. Did he suspect you of something subconsciously? Were you just interesting? Or was it something else?
He'll visit you just to confirm it. The moment he sees your face, he knows what's up.
As to what he'll do with this... new information depends on the circumstances. If harboring feelings for you is detrimental to the Port Mafia in any way, shape, or form, he'll nip the problem in the bud. Otherwise, he'll surrender to the feeling and slowly plan on how to win you over.
The "wooing you" part takes the longest. He knows it wouldn't do to just announce himself to you and it's important that he plants the idea of being in a relationship with him in your mind early on (especially if you're a little more adverse to him than he would like)
His moves are quite subtle. Visits you a little more often than he should, talks sweeter than he normally would, etc. Depending on how you respond is how fast he'll take it up a notch
Once he feels like there's enough wiggle room, he'll be direct with you. He'll say it plainly after handing you over a gofr but whether it's a simple or extravagant one depends on your tastes.

the prologue : an unexpected encounter
➪ sypnosis : a doctor offers you his help to guide you through life when he sees your status
➪ other notes : when i mean “two years before present date” i mean two years before 14 ! era not the actual manga present date, reader is around 11 in this prologue, also very important thing THIS IS NOT A FIC OF MORI AND READER, this will be a fic between dazai and y/n ( maybe a bit of chuuya ) but mori is very essential to the plot
➪ prologue | chapter one | chapter two
Tumblr media
*two years before present date*
“you’ll get sick if you keep eating grass,” you spun around on the ground backing up. “i won’t hurt you,” the same man spoke to you. a man you’ve never seen before, he had shoulder length hair, piercing purple eyes, and what seemed like a doctor’s coat. “are you hungry ?”he asked you slowly stepping closer. you didn’t respond, your instincts didn’t let you trust him.
suddenly the man takes an apple out of a plastic grocery bag he was carrying, holding it out to you, waiting for you to take it. despite your instincts and gut feeling, your stomach growled, tired of the same small weeds. carefully taking it, you starting eating it. the man crouched down to your height as you sat in silence. midway through your apple, you mumble “you shouldn’t use plastic bags,”
it was ridiculous to say it in this situation and your circumstances but you couldn’t help it. the man tiled his head curiously and looked down at his plastic bag. “i suppose you’re right, it isn’t quite good for the planet,” the man said. you couldn’t help but smile, not many share your opinion yet someone you barely met saw what awareness you were trying to bring.
“you don’t have parents do you,” your chewing comes to a halt as you hear the man’s question. you hadn’t heard the word ‘parents’ in so long. but you didn’t reply, going silent as you were before. “i can help you,” the man’s kind voice offers. “children like you shouldn’t be on the streets, please at least for tonight,” the man almost begs, holding out his hand.
maybe…just maybe you could trust him ? no random stranger would help out a starving child like yourself but he went out of his way to help you. he must be a good person, right ? no bad person would offer their help. so you take his hand hesitantly and shakily. maybe you’d get off the streets and put into a warm bed instead of a cardboard box. you had hope.
that man who “helped” you was ougai mori.

**Fukuzawa and Mori with a S/O who is a bibliophile**
Tumblr media
Fukuzawa
-He may look like someone who doesn't read since his job as a president of ADA is too busy. But, he is a hardcore reader who loves to sit quietly ,read a book and enjoy the story for a long time.
-Their first encounter is at a local book festival.
-He saw her while she was trying to grab a book on a shelf. He helped her take the book and they became friends after they roamed the festival with hands full of books.
-Their Relationship had grown rapidly since they shared the same hobby.
-Due to his overloaded job, he couldn't read as much as his S/O who was opening a small bookshop.
-His S/O loves to share about the books she read with Fukuzawa. She talked to him about the plots, the characters and it made Fukuzawa's heart melt.
-Well, he may not know what books she is talking about or what characters she admire but he can tell she really enjoys it and that's all that matters.
-Although Fukuzawa wished to buy every book his S/O named, he wouldn't let her spend a lot of money on limited Editions which were cloth-bound or had beautiful covers.
-Both Fukuzawa and his S/O are harsh critics so they will blame some of the cheap plots or overrated books harshly 🤣
-I think his favorite genre is Nonfiction while His S/O least favorite genre is Non-fiction.
-At weekends or holidays, Fukuzawa sat comfortably and quietly on the couch or tatami mat and his S/O lay on his lap while they both read their favorite book.
-They might not exchange words but from the warmth from skinship and books, they would l feel peace and tranquility.
-If only Fukuzawa had a holiday, he would go to his S/O bookshop and help her with the shop. He would even invite ADA members or his old friends to her shop and introduce her to them.
Tumblr media
Mori
Mori actually doesn't read much and his favorite genres are nonfiction about game theory or psychology.
He used reading as a form of relaxing his burnout brain to absorb more knowledge and to make more strategies.
Their first encounter was in a cafe where his s/o was reading a book peacefully until He and Elise made a fuss in the cafe.Although S/O was really annoyed by loud noises , she would gladly help him to calm down Elise.
Their relationship didn't grow rapidly due to their different mindset for books and reading.
But, eventually they both fell in love. (Hey, Mori has a lot of ways to make a person fall in love with him although he didn't read romance novels)
Despite his low interest in fiction or literature, he gladly watched his S/O reading the books he had bought happily.
He would even ask his s/o to tell about the books she was reading and even encourage her to describe their thoughts and opinions on those books.
I have a feeling that his S/O will make a book blog where she will upload book reviews and opinions after Mori’s encouragement.
His S/O didn't own a shop but he would spoil her to buy every book she wanted whether it's limited edition sets or cloth bound or fore-edge painting. He just didn't care about money . All he cares about is his S/O smile and happiness.
Elise loved her so much because she told a lot of stories and read children’s books for her.
Mori would make a lot of drama about how his S/O didn't pay attention to him and only read books. Elise will scold and ask him not to annoy her reading time.
At the times when he is free from his work,Mori would lean or cuddle his S/O who was reading while one hand of her is playing with Mori’s hair or scarf.
Mori didn't like books as much as his S/O did, but he will gladly give all his time, money and energy for her enthusiasm in books.

Tumblr media
You had no time to turn and look at him.
Something fast, sharp made its way toward you with the power of a lightning and wrapped itself around you before you could think of pushing or stopping it. You looked down and saw what reminded you of a black stripe on your waist; it pulled you behind, and in a split second you found yourself breathless, trembling in your friend’s arms, your ability deactivating by the startle and the exhaustion.
The next thing you remembered was Akutagawa summoning more of those shadows against the men, the stripes widening to block your peripheral sight. The vivid sound of flesh being pierced and sliced was heard, followed by suffocated screams of fear and despair. The stripes came back to their place with a swoosh and disappeared, and then there was silence.
You were still unable to move, only standing thanks to his grip. You didn’t dare look at your adversaries now – or what was left of them – and were satisfied in just imagining what might happened. At least you no longer had to worry.
Now, you needed to focus on the things you just found out.
First, your brother-in-law was a terrible person, involved in activities with high probability of being illegal. Second, your family was now in danger, and you couldn’t do anything for them when you yourself were in a much worse situation. Finally, the man with whom you were about to have a date was an esper just like you. You didn’t know if you should be relieved or desperate: Arthur also had special abilities, but that didn’t bring you any safeness. However, Akutagawa has always been gentle with you; and, when you found yourself in the most dangerous situation of your life since the incident with Virginia, he just came to protect you. Should you expect things to be different?
There wasn’t much time to think about this, though: once the work was done and your survival was assured, the next thing to do was to provide an escape route, something that wasn’t really hard since your partner summoned the shadows again and took you with him to the nearest rooftop, perhaps the same he used to access the alley. You held your breath and shut your eyes tight with the sudden change of place, only opening them again when you sensed a ground under your feet.
Akutagawa still had an arm around you, but with his free hand he grabbed his phone to make a call.
This was what he said when the person answered:
– It’s done. Take your men to the place and clean it.
He turned it off and typed a second number. This time, the conversation lasted a bit longer, and the imperative note in his voice wasn’t present, an indicative of the superiority of the person to whom he talked that time.
– Sir, the mission was accomplished. The men are taking care of the rest.
The person on the other side of the line seemed to ask something, but you weren’t able to hear it.
– No problem – Akutagawa replied – We’re on our way.
There was no need to explain to whom the we was referring to. When the call ended, you had the nerve to ask where he was going to take you.
– To the only place where you can stay safe for now – he looked around and below, as to make sure you didn’t have unwanted eyes watching anything.
No other explanation was given after this. He left that rooftop and took you to the ground of another alley, where there was a black car at its entry, maybe the same you saw him entering in the day he walked you home.
You didn’t question his intentions or hesitate to approach the vehicle: your legs, still able to walk, led you to it, and when the door was opened, your body just found its way inside it. Akutagawa took the place by your side and closed the door.
Once you sat down, your head was so heavy that you had to hold your forehead to not fall on the front seat’s back. An order was whispered to the driver by your friend, and the car started moving fast and silent. The last thing you remembered was trying to lean your back on the seat when a dizziness took over your senses and your sight went completely dark.
***
Your eyes were heavy when you tried to open them for the first time, but you did it after a few attempts. You blinked to get used to the light and, when your sight cleared, you took the next moment to understand your position and surroundings.
Your back was leaning on the softness of an armchair, your head inclined to the side, your hands resting on your lap. You moved on the chair and sensed a numbness on your limbs, typical of a fainting; you searched through your memories and recollected the moment you entered the car and were followed by Akutagawa.
You straightened up on your spot and shivered: your skin was cold despite the regular temperature of the room. You passed your arms around yourself and observed the place…
And were impressed by the sophistication and beauty you found.
It was a large apartment with modest yet fine decoration, with dark, grayish walls and a black, polished floor, covered with carpets. At your right, you sensed there was natural light, as if entering through glass; you turned toward it and discovered a pair of transparent doors, wide open. There was no wind coming in, but that explained the cold air around. You also sensed a slight, mixed smell of camphor and tea.
Quiet steps were heard near your spot, and you found out weren’t left alone in that room. You raised your eyes and saw Akutagawa approaching and stopping in front of your chair. Suddenly, the memory of the fight in the alley, when he activated his powers, came back and you flinched. Ignoring your reaction, he just did what he intended: with his right hand, he touched your ear with his fingertips, the same ear hit by the metal bead controlled by the man of the scars; when you felt the touch, you noticed your skin was covered with a bandage. With the contact, it burned a little: it was when you realized the metal hit hard.
Akutagawa was the first to speak.
– It stopped bleeding, then – and, moving his hand away, – Good.
You touched your ear in the same spot he did.
– Did you make this bandage?
He nodded in confirmation.
– Thank you.
Instead of replying, he went back to the kitchen, then returned with two cups of tea in hands, one of which he offered to you. You murmured a “thank you” and he took a seat on a chair identical to yours, placed near it, crossing his legs in a what might be the most informal manners he was able to assume.
You took the tea in tense silence, except for the moment you complimented him for the good work in preparing the drink.
– I do it the same way almost every day – he justified – It’s a simple recipe, which makes things easier for me, especially in the busy days.
You found it strange that he gave you all this explanation about his relationship with the process of making tea instead of just accepting your compliment, but you didn’t question it, limiting yourself to an “I see” before the silence was again established between you.
When you finished your tea, you kept your eyes in the cup’s bottom, observing the wet leaves inside it while warming your hands with the remaining heat of the porcelain.
Akutagawa, whose practical manners wouldn’t be left aside by the tensions of earlier, was the one who started the conversation.
– I suppose you want to know where you are.
You raised your eyes to him as soon as you heard those words.
– This apartment is mine – he explained – At the moment, we are in a building that belongs to the organization I work for.
You swallowed. After everything you’ve experienced that day, the word organization was starting to acquire a suspicious meaning.
– What kind of... organization is this one?
The young man in front of you didn’t spare your ears nor your nerves with his answer.
– One that serves as a pillar for the city you came to live in: The Port Mafia.
You felt your entire body tensing up, and your hands tightened around the empty cup. You opened your mouth, but closed it again, not knowing what to say to this.
So… I was about to have a date with a member of a criminal organization?
None of this represented a problem to Akutagawa, who seemed to have anticipated it.
– Revealing this to you in the current circumstances wasn’t in my plans, y/n-san – he continued, the same composed tone as before – But we have nor the choice nor the time to make things different. So, let me explain the situation first, then you will have the chance to decide what to do. As you already noticed, I myself am an esper too. My ability is called Rashomon. To summarize, it is a fabric that devours anything that enters its reach, which includes the space itself. I’ve been working for the Mafia since I was a kid, and for all these years it served me well. There are others like us in our organization, as much as there are common people. We are present in all possible segments of society, and this is how it came to our knowledge that a woman with non documented powers has arrived in Yokohama.
You swallowed.
So, I’ve been observed for all this time.
Suddenly, it came to your memory that night when you sensed a strange presence near your building and went to check it out. Since you couldn’t find anything, you forgot about the episode, supposing that it was just an impression. Now, you weren’t so sure of this.
But Akutagawa hasn’t finished yet.
– However, the Port Mafia is not the only group that knows about you: a foreigner organization, involved with international traffic of espers and counting on native agents to maintain its activities, has been surrounding our city for months and discovered your existence by the same time as us. That man Arthur was one of their agents. He was using your sister to approach you. I was designated to follow his steps, and I suppose he was well informed about me, for he recognized me that day when we met.
The image of Arthur cheering up in the company of your sisters in that occasion, then the one of his body falling and crashing down in your living room returned to you, and your hands trembled.
– It’s a shame that I only found about him when it was too late – you whispered.
– And this is what I wanted to ask you about – your friend continued, unaffected – What happened in your apartment?
You took a deep breath and recalled the disturbing events. It was curious that, instead of the expected shame or fear, speaking about the things you heard and saw – and especially what you did about them – brought a deep sensation of relief; it might have been because you had someone like you to hear the story, or because you finally accepted all of that as real, and not a nightmare, once you talked, or even something between these two. Besides, the fact that Akutagawa didn’t interrupt you and showed no signs of shock or disgust with your actions contributed with this sense of comfort: somehow, his view on what happened to you – and about you – had deep importance.
– And now I don’t know what to do – you concluded, your voice beginning to crack – I can’t go back to my house and see how my sisters are doing, neither I can go to the police without exposing myself... I’m trapped...
No verbal response came from your listener, as he gave you a moment to regain sobriety. When he finally opened his mouth, was to make you an offer.
– Now you understand why I said this is the safest place for you now? – and, when you gave him a nod, – But you can’t stay here forever. And, about this, our head wants to have a conversation with you.
You gasped. The head of the Port Mafia – whoever they were – was interested in you and your powers? Well, you wouldn’t have been taken there for any other reason.
– I don’t know how much you’ve heard about this, but we, bearers of special abilities living in this country, are under an inconvenient bureaucracy – Akutagawa continued – This means that our condition needs to be documented and cataloged by the government, or else our lives might become difficult, whether we are involved with an organization that utilizes our powers or not. Since you don’t have such documentation, no support from the regular authorities must be expected in your case. So, as you can see, things are harder for you than for your family at this moment.
Well, good. As if it wasn’t enough for you to go through all the terrible things involving Arthur and his partners, now you had to worry about documentation.
You sighed.
– If my situation is as complicated as you’re saying, what difference my choice would make to you? As far as I can see, I’ve only been a problem for anyone who surrounds me. What does the Port Mafia expect to gain with this case?
Akutagawa uncrossed his legs and stood up, taking the cup from your hands.
– This is exactly what our head wants to discuss with you – he explained – My role was assure your integrity and bring you to our quarters. Any other information you need to know, you will have from him.
Before you had the chance to continue the conversation, two knocks were heard at the front door. Akutagawa extended a stripe of his Rashomon to unlock it, making you flinch: despite having witnessed it in action before, it was just unsettling to watch him use his power in a casual place such as a living room.
The door was open and there you saw a short, young man with vibrant, ginger hair under a hat and a black coat hanging upon his shoulders. He had his hands on his waist, in an informal position that made him stand out of the environment.
For a moment, he didn’t open his mouth, staring at Akutagawa, then at you, then back to the first, as if not knowing if he should say what he came to say or if he arrived at the wrong time.
With a sigh, he finally decided to speak.
– Ah, you’re here at last – and, with a gesture of his thumb that indicated some place behind him – Boss is impatient to see you. He’s waiting in his office.
Akutagawa nodded in concordance.
– We’re on our way.
He looked at you without a word, but you were quick to understand: you were going to see his superior – “the boss”, as his partner said – in the next moments. You stood up too, looking at the ginger, then back to your friend.
– I’m ready.
***
At first, you thought that you would have your eyes covered or you would be knocked out to wake up only when you were in front of the said Mafia’s leader – since you weren’t part of the organization, possessed special abilities and were desperate, every measure must be taken, so that you would never reveal the smallest information to the outside world. However, none of this happened: Akutagawa didn’t even hold your arm during the walk; he just led you to an elevator at his apartment’s floor and, after a few seconds of lifting, its doors opened to reveal a large corridor surrounded by black walls that, according to him, would lead to your destination. He was the first to step into it, and you just followed him.
It was when the reason why you were allowed to see the path became clear.
This is the quarters of the city’s underworld. The closer I get to its head, the harder would be for me to leave and reveal anything.
By the end of the corridor, a tall pair of doors were visible.
– It’s here – his voice echoed through the liminal space, despite his low tone.
He pushed them with little effort, and you saw them move in synchrony, revealing a wide room that would be as dark as its outsides if it wasn’t for the wall entirely made of glass at the observer’s left, just like the one at Akutagawa’s apartment; thanks to them, you were able to analyze your surroundings in precious details.
The room would seem empty with a lighter color palette, but the one chosen for it did an excellent work in using the extra space, from the decorated ceiling lining to the dark green wallpaper, and the intricate patterns of the large, wine-shaded carpet. At the opposite side of the room, at least meters ahead of your spot, there was a woody work-table, a black chair and three shelves full of books, placed on both of the table’s sides and behind it; a second chair, modest if compared with the first one, was before the table, as if it wasn’t part of the room and it was only brought there moments before you arrived.
You and Akutagawa weren’t the only ones at that place: standing at the side of the glass wall, with his hands behind his back, a man with black coat and a red scarf upon his shoulders was observing the outsides. He turned to you as soon as the doors were closed, and greeted you both with a composed smile.
You approached as he went to take a place close to the table, and once you put your eyes on his face, you froze. Yes, he was different from how you used to see him – his hair was properly combed, his beard has been shaved and his entire apparel was dark – but there was no way for you to be deceived.
There you had the head of Port Mafia, though you knew him by another name.
– Dr. Ougai?

Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Mori?"
"Yes, Dazai?"
The brunette adjusted his white cast, scribbling doodles on the supposed paperwork he was supposed to do. He currently sat across from the Port Mafia boss, Mori Ougai, who was folding Elise's clothes attentively in his leather seat. Dazai shifted and set down the chipped pencil he usually chewed on, facing him properly.
"Do you think there is anyone else in the mafia who rivals my skills?" The Demon Prodigy asks, it may seem like an arrogant or overconfident question, but the boy has been used to being a genius at such a young age; it was rather a question out of genuine curiousity.
"Besides me?" Mori 'charms' with a smile, not so charmingly earning a scowl from Dazai in return. "Yes, besides you." He grumbles begrudgingly, slumping in his seat thinking what to draw next. "No, not at all." The mafia boss states with full confidence, "You are my pupil, afterall." Dazai groans again, dropping the pencil yet again before yawning. "Not every intelligent person is of your work, Mori." He retorts with a bored face, causing the grown man to exhale loudly. "Fine. I suppose there is one person who may be up to your level."
Dazai's ears perked up, turning to Mori interested. "Who?" The man in the white lab coat adjusted his purple tie, fluttering his eyes shut mindlessly. "A girl your age, she wants to be a doctor just like her Boss." He smiles genuinely, causing Dazai to sigh in irritation.
"Yuck."
Yuck.
Is what you thought as you stare at the lanky boy who rested on your procedure chair. He was battered and bruised, previous bandages and a large cast wrapped around his left arm stained with sweat and blood; you put on a pair of gloves before grabbing a few tools to clean him up. He was a boy about your age, or so you thought, he was tall and lanky, a black suit with an oversized black overcoat messily draped upon his shoulders. He had messy brown hair thst framed his face, one eye wrapped around bandages along his face; shame, his eyes were a pretty sight.
"Where is your boss?" The brunette asks, watching you attentively as you grab his hand and begin to wipe his beaten knuckles, pushing the bandages wrapped around his hands up. "Out. I'm supposed to take over Mori's job while he's gone." You inform, scooting your chair closer in order to clean all the gashes on his hand. "Oh. So you're that girl?" You cock a brow, turning to look at him.
"That girl?"
"Mori's pupil."
You finish wiping one of his knuckles and dispose of the cloth, motioning the boy to remove his arm bandages before the cut bleeds again. "Oh. I guess." You quip, causing him to tilt his head in interest. "What's your name?" The brunette asks, complying and removing his stained arm bandage, placing it gently on the chair; you picked it up and disposed it yet again, grabbing disinfectant wipes as you wipe his knuckles once more. "[Y/N] [L/N], you?"
"Dazai Osamu, I'm fifteen." You nod politely, wrapping a new set of bandages around his hand. "Cool, me too." Dazai's eyes light up a bit at your responses, "I know." he nods, extending his other hand to repeat the same process.
"So," you pause, carefully applying the new bandages on his other hand, they were quite cold to the touch. "what happened to you?" Dazai sighs, tapping a nimble finger on the hospital chair. "I was trying to kill myself," Your eyes widen a bit at the honesty, giving a casual nod as if it were an everyday occurrence. "However, I didn't know that there were a few men who held grudges against me at the end of the river, so I had to take care of that." He answers, you gave a listening hum at his story.
"That's interesting." You reply, causing him to raise his brows a bit; looking at you as you get up and lift his messy bangs, urging him to take off his facial bandages. "Yep, I'm assuming you get a lot of cases like me?" You wipe his bleeding forehead, causing him to pinch a brown eye shut, "Not exactly; but I mean, I understand you."
Dazai tilted his head in confusion, crimson blood collecting on the abrasion on his forehead; he seemed rather amused yet surprised. "You do?" the boy asks, you nod your head in response, finishing cleaning the wound. "Elaborate, please." he requests, his brown eyes almost sparkled into yours. As if you two weren't terrifying mafia members, as if the world just for a second; stopped to understand a few dumb teenagers in weird situations.
"Who wants to live in this world anyway?" You ask rhetorically, chuckling a bit as you grab a few bandages and carefully guide them around the side of his face. The brunette for a second, was caught off guard; no one underestimated the Demon Prodigy, the greatest mistake for Dazai's enemies is that, they're Dazai's enemies, no? But, this time it was different, just one sentence and accomodating gesture, and he felt a knot tighten in his stomach. Weridly enough, Dazai hummed in satisfaction and fluttered his eyes shut.
"I see." He replies, you finished wrapping the bandage around his head and take off your gloves, feeling satisfied with the mutual agreement. "[Y/N], right?" the brunette asks casually, causing you to nod your head in agreement. "Yeah."
"Would you like to elope out of the mafia with m-"
Dazai Osamu, that fucking womanizer.

Hi! Thank you for your request :)
...
Teddy bear
Platonic!Yandere!Mori Ougai x Child!Fem!Reader x Platonic!Yandere!Elise
Tumblr media
"Um... Please... Um... Excuse me... Sir... Um... Miss... Can you...?"
Another fast-passing person pushed you away, hurting you. All your life you grew up in a small suburb and that's why you were so glad to finally see the big port city firsthand. However, as often happens, expectation and reality didn't coincide...
Noisy streets where someone is constantly honking or shouting, huge buildings, that make your head spin and a huge flow of people, who don't care about you. How many times have you been pushed away? Tears began to burn your eyes painfully. However, you couldn't cry, at least not until you found either your mom or the police station...
With each repulsion and ignoring, it only got worse for you, and the eye on your teddy bear backpack came off. Exhausted, you show the photo to another person and suddenly feel like the photo is being taken out of your hands, you look up in fright. Noticing this, the person in front of you begins to justify himself guiltily.
"I'll just take a closer look, okay?"
Your eyes light up immediately.
"Yes! My mom is standing in the center. There is also a woman with glasses near her!"
"Oh, I see. She's wearing a purple blouse, am I correct?"
"Yes! Yes, that's her!"
The photo you showed was a group photo. There were 5 other people on it, besides your mom. Your eyes were burning with the fire of hope while the man in front of you was looking at the photo, his face was serious until his gaze returned to you. He smiled and handed the photo to you.
"How old are you?"
"I'm already five years old!"
"Five years... I see..."
The man in front of you rubbed his chin thoughtfully, while his hand came down on your head, ruffling your hair a little. Suddenly a girl with golden hair ran up to both of you, she pointedly stamped her foot and began to express her dissatisfaction.
"Rintaro! How much longer do I have to wait in the car?! You're not even in a hurry!"
Abruptly, her gaze darted to you and your photo. After a second, she turned away from you.
"Elice, please don't look at me like that!"
"Okay, whatever..."
Elice took your hand unexpectedly firmly.
"We'll be waiting in the car!"
Elice shouted to Rintaro for the last time and dragged you to the car. You didn't even have time to make a sound when she started explaining.
"Rintaro knows your mother, he'll figure out everything on his own. By the way, I like your backpack! But what with an eye?"
"Um... Thank you... I... I think, I lose it somewhere in crowd, while asking people."
Little by little, you managed to strike up a conversation with Elice. You showed her your briefcase in the shape of a bear, and she showed you a large number of boxes in the trunk and announced that it was all sweets. To say that your jaw dropped after that is not to say anything.
"Wow! Is there some kind of celebration today?"
"Yeah, Rintaro left home on his own, not for work. In his age, it's remarkable."
Elice replied sarcastically, crossing her arms over her chest. You tilted your head slightly, processing her words, when the car door opened.
"Finally! Rintaro, where are you...?"
Elice froze before she could finish, as did you. The blonde girl quickly pulled you closer to her while the man was installing the car seat. Surprisingly, Elice waited patiently, only giggling occasionally when he got confused in the installation and looked at the instructions again. However, in the end, you were still sitting in the car seat, and Rintaro was driving.
"I'm sorry... But I don't remember if I asked you for your name or not, could you introduce yourself to me again, little one?"
"I am Y/n."
"It's a very good name. Y/n, I'll help you find your mom, but you'll have to behave and wait a bit, okay?"

a/n: an old trend but I wanted to do this for these three anyway HAHA I think culture plays a big part in this so I tried to reflect it... sort of
not saying I love you back as a prank
featuring: Fukuzawa, Mori, Fitzgerald x GN!Reader
Fukuzawa Yukichi
It's rare for him to say it so when he does, it's either in a serious or thoughtful mood. Usually you're huddled next to each other when he whispers it to you.
So when you only thank him in reply, he doesn't notice it at first until he finally sensed a disturbance in the force.
"Is something wrong?"
"No," you answer plainly. "Why?"
He stiffens a bit and you try your best to maintain your composure. You could literally hear the rapid grinding of the gears in his head.
"It's just you usually... hmm, what do you call it..."
The truth is, there was a time in the beginning of your relationship when he didn't return your I love you's (he's just awkward like that), and now that this is the first time you didn't return his (and frankly he didn't expect to be that affected by it), he wasn't sure how to convey these thoughts to you. Saying "I want to hear you say 'I love you too'" out loud was simply beyond his capabilities.
He doesn't continue and only tightens his embrace. All his anxieties suddenly rush to him - did he finally break the final straw somehow? Did he do something again? Or was this a sign that you just... you just didn't want to-
"I'm sorry," he finally says, although it was barely audible.
"Hmm? Why?"
"I'm sorry," he says once more. "For all my shortcomings, if I did something to hurt you... forgive me. I love you so much, Y/N."
Here's another fact of the day: you've pranked him several times in the past, and at each and every instance you always ended up feeling guilty - this one was no different. Why you never learned, no one would ever know.
"I-I love you too, Yukichi," you said as you gently pushed away his bangs to place a soft kiss on his forehead. "I should be the one apologzing. It was- I just wanted to see how you'd react- I'm so sorry I should have been more sensitive."
He stared at you blankly in confusion during the whole apology. Was this another prank of yours?
Once it all settled in his head, his body finally relaxed through a relieved and exasperated sigh. Thank God it was nothing serious, but still...
"Please don't do this again, Y/N. Please." What would he ever do with you?
Mori Ougai
He's not one to drop the L-word often either. It usually occurs during or after a period when you're physically separated.
This time, he called to check on how you're doing. Was your day alright? Did you need anything? Good. It seemed you were doing well.
"Alright then. Good night, I love you."
"Good night too."
You deliberately left the line on to see if he noticed, and to your surprise (or expectation) he did.
"...Good night, I. love. you," he repeated with emphasis on the last three words. His tone hardened, annoyance apparent.
"Yes, I heard you. Good night."
You had to pull the phone away from your face to avoid him hearing your stifled laughter.
"What do you think you're doing, Y/N?" His voice switched to his cold persona but you could still tell he was upset. "Do you think it's funny?"
"I'm not doing anything, darling. I promise it's just your imagination."
The line remains cold for a moment. You regretted not doing this in person now that you were left to only guess his facial expressions right then.
"Tell me, Y/N. My imagination tells me I should be worried about the future of our relationship."
"Oh, don't be so dramatic-"
"Really? I don't know if I am. I don't know what you're thinking if you don't tell me, Y/N."
"There's nothing to be worried about, I swear." You tried to reassure him - you had to. Things would go serious fast if he felt like it.
"Then say it."
At this point, there was no use in continuing this any further.
"I love you, Rintarou," you said as sweetly as possible. Hopefully he wasn't too offended by your little prank.
"Good." His usual cheer returned, thankfully. "Don't pull something like this again, okay, dear? It won't end well next time."
"I won't. Promise."
Francis Scott Fitzgerald
He says it before leaving for somewhere important. No, scratch that. He says it before leaving for anywhere. Period.
So you only saying "take care" registers quickly in his brain, preventing him from exiting the doorway entirely.
"I love you," he hollers again from the door, extending his back to make sure you heard him this time.
"Take care!" You say again with no change in tone.
He's suspicious but he's not exactly as worried as the previous two, being the most secure in terms of your relationship. Still, he walks back to where you were and repeats himself.
"I love you, Y/N."
"I know. You should go now or you'll be late-"
"I'm not leaving until this is matter is resolved," he says with an official yet melodramatic air. "This is very important."
You chuckle, pretending not to know what's going on. "What's important?"
"Your reciprocation of love, of course. You're more important than any sort of business - you know that."
You'd be lying if you didn't like hearing that from him. He was quite verbal (and even physical at times) with his affection, but it never hurts to be affirmed either way.
"So, what's bothering you? Tell me what you want - are you bored with the house? Is the new cook not up to your tastes? Feeling lonely recently? Something else?"
"It's nothing, really."
"Nothing?" He asks, shock completely taking over his features. "Nothing is bothering you, yet you won't even say 'I love you' back to your husband who works day and night just to provide you the life you want?"
A few moments of tense silence pass as his blue eyes stare into yours. You've had many of these spontaneous staring contests to know that the first one to break the silence or eye contact was the loser. Today, it was you.
"...do I have to?"
"I'm staying here until you say it, Y/N."
With a sigh of resignation, you finally give in. "I love you, Francis, so please go now."
"There we go. See you later, then."

Port mafia had a meeting and Hirotsu told reader to wait Infront of port mafia building she was waiting and smoking and listening to music when Elise came and took her to meeting and reader has crush on mori for some time and everyone were shocked that Hirotsu has a granddaughter but the thing is thathe found her on his doorstep one day

Thanks
Well, I terribly took a long time to finish it. But, if you're happy to read it, please do leave a comment. If you don't feel comfortable, anon in ask-box will be fine too❤️
Tumblr media
Hirotsu never knew he had a granddaughter until he found that someone abandoned a child in front of his door with a letter claiming that that little child was his granddaughter. He was puzzled. How could he be a grandfather when he was just only 25 years old? Again, he never did that with someone, well at least not someone with blonde hair. That child had blue ocean eyes, blonde hair and cute dimples that proved that she wasn't his descendant.
He knew that that's absurd and a scam but he still wasn't heartless enough to send this child to an orphanage because he knew how an orphanage could be so fucked up in those time. Again,he couldn't leave the child alone in this darkness. So, he decided to be a guardian for the child. Of course,he also kept a secret from the organization since Port Mafia at that time was so fucked up and so cruel .He worried that the crazy boss would do something terrible to the child or he would use her as a hostage to keep him loyal.
Years later, it was finally Mori's reign. But, Hirotsu decided to keep the secret with him all his life as he was used to it. Y/N gradually grew up into a fine and intelligent lady and like Hirotsu, she had an obsession with cigarettes .
Hirotsu always told her not to smoke too much but Y/N never listened. Hirotsu didn't want Y\N to join the Port Mafia since he believed that Y/N deserved to be in the light while he was in the dark protecting her. They may not be blood related but their bond is like a real father and daughter.
"Like I said, you can't go " Hirotsu frowned his eyes when he heard Y/N's request.
"If you have so much time, why don't you go shopping with your friends? Moreover, they don't even know I have a tantrum throwing brat" He smoked out the Cigarettes while he watched Y/N rolling herself on the floor yelling that she wanted to meet Mori.
"I said that won't be happen"
"Hirotsu San! You meanie!"
Although Hirotsu kept refusing her request, he knew he had to take her to the HQ today because of the incident of disappearing Port Mafia's building because of the Guild. He sighed, killed the cigarettes and got up .
"I will leave the house in 15 minutes so you better hurry"
"You mean I can come with you? Right!? Right!?"
"If you agree not to disturb our job"
Y/N happily got up and jumped into Hirotsu causing him a little backache.
"Please piggy back to HQ!!"
"What do you think you are? An elementary school kid? Get off. Again, they don't know you're my granddaughter.Moreover.. "
"They don't even know you have one ."Y/N giggled and got off from Hirotsu. She picked up the bag which contained a book, cigarette case and some chewing gum.
"Just tell them I'm your daughter. That's more relevant la."
"Thanks to someone,I got a grandchild without having a daughter or son"
That's their daily conversation. Although Hirotsu wanted to keep the adoption a secret, Y/N found out that when she was just a kid since their appearances were too different . But, she didn't feel any remorse or anything as she accepted Hirotsu as her father and she was gladly grateful that he decided to adopt her.
The only problem was that she took a crush on his boss, Mori Ougai and that's the reason that she kept being a brat throwing tantrums to visit the Port Mafia. Hirotsu never allowed in the past but thanks to Guild being ridiculous, she had a golden chance to visit there.
But, to her disappointment, Hirotsu clearly told the guards to watch her . He clearly reminded them not to let her go near the meeting room. He even told her just to sit quietly in the reception. Y/N pouted but she had to agree.
Y/N just sat on the couch scrolling her phone and smoking until a little girl bumped into her. The young, short girl with pale skin and bright blue eyes. She has long, blonde hair, styled with straight, blunt bangs across her forehead and long, thick ringlets that curled past her waist. She wears a large red bow on the right side of her head.
Y/N whistled softly and rubbed her belly after putting that girl away from her. She killed the cigarettes and waved her hands in order to make the smoke disappear.
"That hurts! Kid, you should spare me since I am in my 20 and I started to be old"
"You are not fun.By the way, I'm Elise"
Y/N giggled and patted Elise's head.
"Hello Elise, I'm Y/N"
She had no idea who that girl was but she decided to play along since she was too bored in scrolling and watching Instagram Reels.
" I'm bored"
"Me too"
"How about doing some fun? How about annoying Rintarō ?"
"Who is Rintarō?"
"Annoying man"
“Awww"
Their conversation was really something. Y/N didn't know what Elise was talking and again Elise didn't know what Y/N was talking.
"I can sing" said Y/N while she was chewing a gun. Elise looked at her and she made a large big smile.
"Sing for me!"
"Okay, any special request?"
"I don't have one. Just sing and I'll listen"
"Okay"
Y/N stood up and cleared her throat. She was thinking hard about what song she should sing.
"Ah! How about we go upstairs? We have an empty place where we can use" said Elise. She grabbed Y/N's hand and dragged her to the upstairs.
Y/N couldn't refuse. To her surprise,no one stopped them going upstairs. So, she realized that Elise was somehow associated with high ranking members of the Port Mafia.
"How about here? It's better than Reception right?"
It was a corridor. But, to be exact,a long corridor with stained glass window, huge pillars. As expected for the Port Mafia, even the corridor was so grand.
Y/N put on her airpod, selected a song.
"I will sing Enchanted by Taylor Swift"
She told herself just to put on the mood. Elise was smiling and put her hands on her cheeks . She sat on a chair which she dragged from nowhere.
The meeting was still ongoing. Hirotsu was reporting the news about the Guild and everyone including Mori himself was paying so much attention. The atmosphere inside was really intense since the Guild had their first move .
Mori massaged his elbows softly and sighed. They were so stressed out about the case .
Until they heard a voice.
“This is me praying that
This was the very first page
Not where the story line ends
My thoughts will echo your name, until I see you again
These are the words I held back, as I was leaving too soon
I was enchanted to meet you”
“Who is singing outside?”asked Mori curiously. He meant no harm or no anger in his voice, it's just the voice was so sweet and alluring that he wanted to know who was singing.
Poor Hirotsu, he was pale and sweat dropped on his forehead. He knew it was Y/N singing outside, using her ability to sing alluringly and sweetly to make her audience happy.
“It was…”
“You know who is singing, don't you?”
Kouyou was listening while she was smiling.Chuuya was frowning his eyes but he somehow enjoyed the song.Higuchi hummed the music without even knowing. Even Akutagawa didn't give negative feedback and the rest of the black lizard also enjoyed the song.
“It was..”
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you
Please don't be in love with someone else
Please don't have somebody waiting on you
It became silent again after the song. But, the happiness and the calming energy was still here and they wanted to meet who was the owner of that angelic voice.
“Hirotsu San, if you know who was singing, do bring her here”
“But, boss-”
Hirotsu couldn't finish his words since Elise bursted into the room grabbing Y/N .
“Ah ah, it hurts Elise chan”
“Rintarō, I made a new friend. She can sing! She has angelic voice”
Elise was shaking Y/N violently and jumping like a rabbit with excitement.Poor Y/N, she was so excited and shiver to see her crush here. But, she couldn't do anything since Elise was yanking her hands in and out. She helplessly looked at Hirotsu and as expected, Hirotsu was giving that look .Yes, he was clearly angry.
“Elise chan, please stop . You're hurting that poor girl” Mori cooed and he gently grabbed Elise towards him.
“Sorry, she’s just really happy to make a new friend “
“...it’s okay”
“Who are you,if I may ask?”
Y/N looked at Hirotsu with *asking for help* eyes. Hirotsu sighed and decided to step in.
“Boss, if I may answer, she is my granddaughter”
Kouyou put her hands to her mouth trying not to laugh. Chuuya couldn't close his mouth from surprise. Tachihara and Higuchi couldn't help but laugh till their stomach hurt since Hirotsu and that girl didn't resemble each other in any way.Again, how can a 50 years old man have a granddaughter of that age.Mori was a little surprised by his answer too.
“She was…she was adopted. That was a long story.”
Hirotsu explained the situation in short. Mori nodded softly while he was listening to the whole story.
“So, you hid your granddaughter from the organization for a long time”
“It was my personal life.So, I thought I shouldn't make a scene”
Mori didn't blame both of them. Instead he offered Y/N to live in Port Mafia for a time being until the Guild was solved.
Y/N was blushing from the idea of sharing the same roof with her Crush. She wanted to refuse but Mori said,”You won't make Elise cry, will you” and she finally agreed.
Hirotsu didn't like the idea, but it was the safest option so he had to agree. Even Poor protective Grandpa had the time to give up.

A Love Discovered in the Darkest of Times
Tumblr media
Characters: Chuuya x Reader x Dazai
Synopsis: Sometimes, the love we seek has been right in front of us all along, waiting for us to see it clearly.
A/N: Don't mind me. I'm just taking advantage of the sudden surge of creativity and inspiration in my veins. :D
Also, I'm a sucker for happy endings.
Read the first part first here: Part 1: Love's Melancholy Farewell
--
Several months had passed since Chuuya and you parted ways, each carving out separate paths in their lives. Chuuya immersed himself in the demanding tasks assigned by the Port Mafia's leader, Mori Ougai, while you took the necessary time to heal. The initial three months proved to be the most challenging for you, with countless nights spent shedding tears and drowning sorrows in alcohol.
During one particularly difficult night, you found yourself succumbing to the temptation to reach out to Chuuya. In a drunken haze, you called him, offering apologies for the pain you caused and desperately pleading for another chance.
Chuuya was taken aback as he answered the phone, recognizing your voice on the other end. Her words were slurred, and the pain in her voice tugged at his heart. "Y/N? Is that you?" he asked, trying to maintain composure.
"Chuuya, I'm sorry," you slurred. "I'm so sorry for hurting you. I didn't mean to break your heart."
Chuuya's grip on the phone tightened. "It's alright, Y/N. We both needed time apart," he managed to say, though his heart conflicted.
"But I miss you so much," you continued. "I miss your smile, your laugh, and your touch. I miss everything about you."
Chuuya felt a pang in his heart. "Y/N, please don't do this. You're drunk, and you don't know what you're saying," he said, his voice breaking.
"No, Chuuya. I know exactly what I'm saying. I love you, Chuuya. I've always loved you," you confessed, sobbing.
Chuuya's heart skipped a beat. "Y/N, I..." he trailed off, uncertain.
"Please, Chuuya. Give me another chance. I promise I won't mess things up again. I love you so much," you pleaded.
Chuuya felt his resolve faltering. "Y/N, please... don't do this. We're not good for each other. You know that," he said, his voice laced with sorrow.
Your voice was slurred, clearly heavily intoxicated. "But Chuuya, I love you. I need you. Please," you begged.
Chuuya's throat tightened. "Y/N, you need to stop. You're drunk. Rest and take care of yourself," he pleaded, his voice breaking.
You were about to speak, but Chuuya couldn't bear it anymore. He hung up, tears streaming down his face as he cried for the love he couldn't have.
Chuuya buried his face in his hands, body shaking with sobs. He wanted to be with you, but he couldn't ignore the pain you had caused him. "Why did you have to call me now, Y/N? Why did you have to make me relive everything again?" he shouted to no one.
The room shook as Chuuya unintentionally activated his ability, unleashing his fury on the walls. "Damn it, Y/N! Why did you have to do this to me?!" he screamed, his voice hoarse and raw with emotion.
He collapsed to the floor, tears streaming down his face. "I want to be with her, but I can't forget everything she's done," he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
Chuuya spent the entire night engulfed in a tumult of emotions, the weight of your feelings too heavy to decipher. As he scrolled through his phone, images of you stared back at him, each one reopening wounds that refused to heal. Tears streamed down his face unchecked.
In a sudden surge of frustration, he hurled his phone across the room, watching it shatter against the unforgiving wall. "Damn it!" he yelled, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and despair. Rising to his feet, he kicked the wall repeatedly, his foot growing numb, and his knuckles bloodied.
"Why am I like this?" he asked, voice cracking. "Why can't I just let you go? Why do I still love you after everything you've done to me?" Another punch to the wall echoed his inner turmoil. Collapsing onto the floor once more, he succumbed to the waves of sorrow shaking his body.
Chuuya remained in that agonizing state, time slipping away unnoticed as misery and self-loathing consumed him. When he finally lifted his head, the gentle morning sunlight bathed his room. Sitting there on the floor, drained and helpless, his heart continued its feeble yearning for you.
-
Nearly a year had passed since you returned to Yokohama after an extended mission abroad that you had actively proposed. Despite the time away, the weight of your pain lingered. Training and casual encounters with strangers served as distractions, but nothing could erase the memory of your heartbreak.
Seated at the bar, nursing your drink, a guy sidled up beside you. His charming smile and engaging conversation about jobs and favorite movies drew you in. Laughter ensued, creating a momentary escape.
"Can I buy you another drink?" he asked, his hand brushing against yours.
A thrill surged through you at his touch. "Sure, why not?" you replied, your heart racing.
As the conversation deepened, so did the flirting. Leaning closer, your eyes locked in a heated gaze. A shiver of desire ran through you as his hand trailed up your arm.
"Let's go somewhere more private," he whispered, his lips hovering over yours.
You nodded, and they made their way to a hotel room. Once alone, you started to kiss. Initially, your thoughts drifted to Dazai, but soon, they veered to Chuuya. Tears streamed down your face, but you didn't stop. You needed this, a brief respite from the haunting memories.
Amid the continued intimacy, a sob escaped you. The guy pulled back, concerned. "Hey, are you okay?"
Taking a deep breath, you forced a smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just... I'm just a little emotional right now."
Concern filled his eyes, but you leaned in and captured him for another round of searing kisses, it was your attempt to distract yourself. As you moved together, tears fell again, but you pressed on. Anything to feel something other than pain and heartbreak.
Afterward, lying on the bed, catching your breath, tears still streamed down your face. Hollow inside, the fleeting pleasure did nothing to ease the gnawing pain in your heart. As the guy left without a word, disappointment in yourself settled in.
You sat up, contemplating calling Chuuya, finger hovering over his number on the screen. Should you? Would he even want to talk after all this time? With a deep sigh, you placed the phone back on the bedside table, lying down again, the weight of your pain still heavy upon you.
The next morning, you left the hotel and headed down to the lobby. Surprise struck you when you saw Dazai there, talking to Kunikida. They were likely on a mission together. The air was knocked from your chest at the sight of the man who was once the love of your life. Initially, happiness flickered, but it soon dissipated, replaced by rage and hurt. Not ready for a confrontation, you tried to avoid them, but Dazai saw you and called out your name. Turning to face him, your heart raced with anger and fear.
"What do you want?" you snapped.
Dazai held up his hands in a placating gesture. "I just wanted to say hello. It's been a long time."
You scoffed. "Yeah, it has. And it's been even longer since you broke my heart and abandoned me."
Dazai sighed. "Can we talk somewhere else?"
After a few seconds, the detective managed to convince you, and you followed him to a quiet alleyway, your heart still racing with anger and fear. You knew this conversation was going to hurt, but you had to know the truth.
"So? What happened, Dazai?" you demanded. "Why did you leave me?"
Dazai looked pained as he spoke. "You know why, Y/N. After Odasaku died, I couldn't stay in the mafia anymore. I had to leave, and I couldn't take you with me. It wasn't safe."
"You could have at least told me," you said through gritted teeth. "You could have given me a choice."
"I didn't want to put you in danger," Dazai replied. "I thought the mafia was where you belonged."
A wave of anger washed over you. "How dare you decide what's best for me! You had no right to leave me like that!"
"I'm sorry, Y/N," Dazai said, his voice softening. "I never wanted to hurt you. But I had to do what I thought was best."
You shook your head, tears streaming down your face. "You don't get to decide what's best for me. I can take care of myself."
Dazai reached out to touch you, but you flinched away. "Y/N, please. I still care about you."
Turning away, your voice trembling, you said, "I don't want to hear it. You broke my heart, Dazai. And you left me with nothing."
Silence fell between you, and you took a deep breath, steeling yourself for what you were about to say next.
"Chuuya was there for me when you weren't," you said. "He understood me, and he accepted me. He loved me more than you ever did."
Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes as memories of Chuuya flooded your mind. His unconditional love, constant support, and non-judgmental acceptance of your flaws came rushing back. You thought about the times he held you close, wiping away your tears, reassuring you that everything would be okay. Recollections of how he prioritized your needs over his own and willingly endured harm to protect you filled your thoughts.
As you spoke, tears streamed down your face—not just tears of pain or guilt but tears of realization. Finally understanding your true feelings, you admitted, "I am in love with Chuuya. I love him with all my heart, and I can't imagine a life without him. He loved me unconditionally, even when I pushed him away. And I am so stupid for doing so.”
The biggest realization hit you, "I love him more than anything in this world."
Silence hung between you and Dazai. Opening your eyes, you met his regretful gaze, but you no longer cared about his judgment. You now knew what you wanted, and nothing was going to stand in your way. With a determined look, you walked out of the dark alleyway, disregarding Dazai. Despite the hurt he caused, he silently wished you well, sending his most genuine good luck.
It wasn't much, considering the pain he inflicted, but it was better than nothing. He genuinely hoped for your happiness, even if it meant letting you go.
As you walked down the street, thoughts of Chuuya consumed your mind. Your finger hovered over his number on your phone screen, conflicting emotions rushing through you. Uncertain if you were ready to reach out after everything that happened, your heart raced at the thought of him. Stopping in your tracks, the overwhelming feeling inside you couldn't be contained. A silly grin spread across your face as thoughts of the redhead filled your mind, both scared and excited at the same time.
-
Several days had passed since your encounter with Dazai, and you couldn't shake Chuuya from your thoughts, despite your efforts to distract yourself. Hours were spent staring at your phone, contemplating whether to call him or not. Each time you picked it up, fear gripped you, preventing the call.
Days turned into weeks, and your anxiety and guilt intensified. The nagging feeling persisted—had you missed your chance with Chuuya? Was he now happy with someone else? You hesitated, not wanting to disrupt his life and complicate things after everything that unfolded between you.
Even as you tried to convince yourself it was for the best, your heart ached with longing and regret. You missed Chuuya's laughter, his smile, and his touch. The way he looked at you lingered in your mind, as if you were the most important person in the world.
One night, unable to sleep, you finally made a decision. You knew you had to talk to Chuuya, to express your feelings and apologize for everything and well, hope for the best.
-
You stood outside Chuuya's office at the Port Mafia headquarters, your hand poised to knock on the door. Each attempt to summon the courage ended in a retreat. An hour had passed, spent pacing in front of the building, trying to muster the nerve to face Chuuya.
The need to talk to him, to express your feelings and apologize, lingered in your mind. Yet, every attempt to knock on the door faltered as nerves took over, causing you to back out each time.
Footsteps approached from inside the building at one point, prompting panic. You ran to hide behind a nearby utility closet, waiting in anticipation. The minutes felt like ages, heart racing with fear. Eventually, the footsteps faded away, and you peeked out from behind the storage closet, relieved that you hadn't been caught.
You knew you couldn't keep stalling forever, but the fear remained insurmountable. All you could do was keep trying, hoping that eventually, the courage to face Chuuya would find its way to you.
-
Chuuya found himself deep within a rival organization's stronghold, on a mission assigned by Mori Ougai to gather vital intel. His stealthy entrance, owing to exceptional fighting skills and the gravity-manipulating ability, "For the Tainted Sorrow," went unnoticed. However, a moment of carelessness led to an ambush. Surrounded by heavily armed guards wielding weapons designed to counter ability users, Chuuya faced a formidable challenge.
Remaining composed, he knew he had to act swiftly. Focusing his energy, he activated his ability, shifting the gravity around him and catching the guards off balance. Seizing the opportunity, he engaged in a fierce battle, combining martial arts prowess with the manipulation of gravity.
The fight was intense, and despite his best efforts, Chuuya found himself outnumbered. Each blow he delivered drained his energy, but he refused to yield. The mission had to be completed.
Finally overcoming the last guard, Chuuya paid the price with severe injuries. His wounds bled profusely, and awareness of the urgency to escape gripped him. Stumbling out of the building, weakened by the ordeal, he collapsed on the ground.
Meanwhile, you received a message from Mori, urging you to assist Chuuya as reinforcements alongside a few mafia goons. Recognizing this as an opportunity to reunite with him without things becoming too awkward, you willingly accepted the orders. Arriving just in time, you witnessed Chuuya lying on the ground, barely conscious.
Without hesitation, you sprang into action, using your own abilities to repel the enemy. Yet, the opposition was overwhelming, and the fight grew increasingly fierce. Unaware of your presence, Chuuya fought valiantly for survival.
As the enemy closed in, you realized you had to get Chuuya to safety. Lifting him up, you began to carry him away, but the enemy was relentless. Surrounded on all sides, your situation became dire.
With no other option, you summoned your ability, unleashing a powerful wave of energy that pushed back their attackers. Running toward safety, Chuuya's grip on consciousness continued to slip. You, determined to save him, used all your strength to carry him towards the Port Mafia headquarters.
-
Finally, they arrived at their destination, and you handed Chuuya over to the medical team. Anxious, you watched as they worked tirelessly to save his life, utilizing their expertise to treat his severe injuries.
As you waited, your mind raced with worry and fear. Chuuya had never appeared so badly hurt, intensifying your concern for his life.
Sitting by Chuuya's side, you waited for him to wake up. Watching him sleep, you realized the depth of your feelings for him. It became clear that you couldn't conceal your emotions any longer. Even if he were to reject you, that was okay; expressing your most genuine feelings to the person you love was more important. Letting Chuuya know how you felt was more than enough for you.
Chuuya slowly opened his eyes, groaning in pain as he attempted to sit up. He winced, feeling the throbbing ache in his body. Surveying the room, he realized he was in a hospital at the Port Mafia headquarters. Memories of the mission flooded back, recalling how he was on the brink of death before someone saved him.
His eyes widened in shock as he noticed the sleeping figure by his bedside. Lost in his thoughts, he hadn't noticed your injuries before. Staring at you, he did a double take to confirm that it was indeed you lying there.
You appeared peaceful in your sleep, but the bruises on your face and the bandages on your hands served as stark reminders of the danger you both faced. Guilt washed over Chuuya. He never liked seeing you hurt like this.
Continuing to gaze at you, a mix of emotions overwhelmed him. Gratitude for saving his life, worry for your injuries, and an indescribable feeling. Though aware of your skill as a fighter, seeing you injured highlighted your vulnerability.
Chuuya's eyes flickered to your face, and he couldn't resist reaching out to brush a strand of hair away from your forehead. His fingers lingered on your soft skin, and he let out a small sigh.
It had been so long since he had seen you, and he had missed you more than he could express. Yet, with you lying beside him, the reality of your situation and painful memories resurfaced.
A wave of conflicting emotions washed over him. He yearned for you, wanting nothing more than to hold you close and never let go. The thought of what might have been made his heart ache. Fear of change between you and the possibility that you had moved on or didn't feel the same way haunted him.
The fear of rejection and the prospect of getting hurt again made him hesitate. He wasn't sure if he was ready to face the pain of losing you once more.
As he ran his fingers through your hair, a tear slipped down Chuuya's cheek. He quickly wiped it away, not wanting to wake you, but the yearning in his chest lingered.
As you stirred from your sleep, Chuuya was already wide awake, watching you with a mix of surprise and confusion. Lost in thought, he heard your movements and observed as you quickly sat up, scanning the room before your eyes eventually landed on him.
"Chuuya!" you exclaimed, relief and concern evident in your voice. "Are you okay? How do you feel?"
Taken aback by your sudden shift in demeanor, from deep sleep to frantic concern for his well-being, Chuuya cleared his throat before responding.
"I'm fine, Y/N," he said, his voice a bit raspy. "Thanks to you."
Your eyes softened as you looked at him. "I'm glad you're okay," you said, your voice filled with sincerity.
Chuuya felt his heart race at
the sight of you, the way your eyes searched his face for any signs of pain or discomfort. It had been so long since he had seen you, and he had almost forgotten how much your presence affected him.
"Y/N..." Chuuya started, but the words caught in his throat. He wasn't sure what to say or even how to say it.
You reached out and touched his hand, interrupting his thoughts. "What is it?" you asked, your gaze unwavering.
Chuuya took a deep breath before speaking. "It's just...been a while," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
You nodded slowly. "Yeah, it has," you said softly, your eyes downcast.
The palpable silence that followed weighed on them, and Chuuya could feel the burden of their past pressing down. Taking a deep breath, he tried to think of something to say.
"So, how have you been?" he asked, hoping to break the tension.
You looked up at him, and for a moment, Chuuya was lost in your eyes. He could see the pain and sadness there, but he also saw something else—something that gave him hope.
"I've been...okay, I guess," you said, shrugging slightly. "I've been on a few missions, but nothing too exciting."
Chuuya nodded, grateful for the small talk. He knew that they needed to address their past, but he also knew that they needed to ease into it.
"And...how about you?" you asked, a small smile playing at the corners of your lips.
Chuuya felt warmth spread through him at your question. He had been so focused on you that he had forgotten about himself.
"I've been busy," he said with a chuckle. "Work's been crazy, as usual. But I can't complain."
You nodded, and the two of you fell into an awkward silence once more.
"I saw Dazai a few days ago," you suddenly said, breaking the silence. Chuuya tensed up at your words, but tried to keep his composure.
"Oh?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Yeah," you continued. "I had a talk with him. I gave him a piece of my mind for leaving without a goodbye and how betrayed I felt. I even got angry for your sake."
Chuuya's heart skipped a beat at your last words. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, I was angry that he left you too. You deserved a proper goodbye from him," you said, looking at him with a sympathetic expression.
“I see…”
“Yeah.”
You took a deep breath and looked directly at the redhead, "Chuuya, I need to tell you something," you said, your voice shaking.
Chuuya nodded, his expression serious.
"I...I just want to say how sorry I am," you continued, your voice breaking. "I was such a stupid person for wasting your love like that. I didn't deserve it, and I took it for granted. I hurt you so much, and I regret it every single day."
Tears streamed down your face as you spoke, your words filled with genuine remorse. "You didn't deserve any of it–I'm so sorry for hurting you. I know I can never make it up to you, but I just want you to know that I'm truly sorry."
Your sobs grew louder as you spoke, your emotions getting the best of you. Chuuya could see the pain and regret in your eyes, and he felt his heart soften towards you.
He reached out and pulled you into a tight embrace, holding you close as you cried. "Shh, it's okay," he whispered, rubbing your back gently. "I forgive you, Y/N. I forgave you a long time ago."
Silence enveloped the room as your sobs gradually subsided. Chuuya's heart ached witnessing your tears, yet a glimmer of relief surfaced. Finally, the weight of unspoken thoughts was being addressed.
"Hey now, don't cry like a baby," Chuuya teased, attempting to lighten the mood. "Your face is as red as a tomato." He chuckled at your muttered response of "Shut up."
Oh, how he missed you.
As your sobs quieted, Chuuya continued to hold you, reluctant to let go. "It's okay," he whispered, his voice a soothing balm. "I'm here for you."
You looked up at him, your eyes still watery. "Do you really forgive me?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
Chuuya nodded. "Of course I do," he replied, his gaze softening. "We're okay."
Your eyes widened in surprise and relief, a small smile breaking through. "Thank you, Chuuya," you said, your voice cracking. "I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I'm grateful for it."
Before he could stop himself, Chuuya leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. "You don't have to deserve it," he murmured. "I'm giving it to you anyway."
You wiped away your tears, took a deep breath, and locked eyes with Chuuya. "I need to tell you something," you said, your voice hoarse from crying. "When I talked to Dazai, I realized something—something that I had been too blind to see before."
Chuuya's expression softened, and he reached out to take your hand. "What did you realize?" he asked gently.
"I realized that I love you, Chuuya," you declared, your voice filled with passion. "I love you more than anything in this world. But I was just too blind to see it, and I can't keep denying it anymore. I need you in my life, and I want to be with you."
Your confession left Chuuya in a state of disbelief. For so long, he poured his heart out to win your love, enduring the pain of your partial reciprocation and the near-fatal heartbreak caused by Dazai's presence. Now, you finally admitted your love for him.
Chuuya couldn't help but chuckle at your confession. "Took you long enough," he teased, a smile spreading across his face. "I mean, I'm way more attractive and charming than that idiot Dazai."
You pouted but later chuckled, your face flushed with happiness. "I know, I know," you replied, still wrapped up in his arms. "Better late than never, I guess?"
Chuuya scoffed playfully, "When you put it that way," he mumbled, his voice filled with mirth.
After a moment of silence, Chuuya gently took your hand in his and looked into your eyes. "Y/N," he said, his voice steady and sincere. "I need to hear you say it. I need to hear you tell me that you love me with all your heart. Can you say it again for me, please?"
You smiled softly and leaned in to place a soft kiss on his lips. "Chuuya," you said, your voice soft and affectionate. "I love you. I've loved you for so long, but I didn't realize it until now. You're the one I want to be with and the one I want to share my life with. I love you more than anything."
Chuuya felt his heart swell with love and happiness as he looked into your eyes. "I love you too, Y/N," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I always have, and I always will." You leaned in for another kiss, your love for each other filling the room.
As you lay in the hospital bed together, Chuuya and you exchanged soft whispers and gentle caresses. You had been through so much, but finally, you were together, your love stronger than ever before.
Looking at Chuuya, you couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment wash over you. For the first time in your life, you knew you had found your true soulmate, the one person who completed you in every way.
And as you shared one last kiss before drifting off to sleep, you knew that no matter what the future held, you would face it together, your love as unbreakable as the bond that held you together.
